I have a 2007 Chevy Impala. Vibration in wheel, sensor light was on for tire, backlight in trunk hanging freely, stalling, engine rev up when pulling out, noise thumping when coming to a complete stop, and all other problems that the 2007 Impala Owners are having my car is having the same problems if not more. No one seems to know how to fix them.

I have a 2005 Chevy Impala that constantly has an issue with starting. For some unknown reason, the security notification will come on and then I will go into a store or a gas station and when I come back, my car will not start.
I have read hundreds of e-mails online about people having the same problems with their Impalas. There are quotes from $500 to $1,000 to fix it and then the so-called fix still doesn't fix the problem. This is not only frustrating, but shame on GM for not addressing this problem and making it a "recall" item, or at least providing some kind of compensation or cheap fix!
So many people are having the same problem and none of us have the money to keep trying to fix a problem that no one really knows how to fix, why it happens, or even how to prevent it from happening. I am so mad about this and just feel totally helpless.
Thanks a lot GM for nothing. You received your bail out when needed. It's time to help bail out the rest of us from an unreliable car!

I've owned a 2004 Chevrolet Impala for a few years, and I paid $18,000 for it (used)! I'm having several different problems with this car. Last year my check engine light came on; it was nearing inspection time, so while it was no longer under warranty, I took it to Firestone. After having a diagnostic test performed numerous trips back and several parts replaced to the amount of $1500, I assumed the car was fixed.
After driving 100 miles, I looked down and my check engine light is back on! What the **! They run another diagnostic test, and told me this time that it is something completely different! So, not having any more funds to get it fixed, the guy told me that he will reset the light, and if I can drive for another 100 miles without it coming back on, he will do the inspection for me. So, I drove it for a few days, and when I hit 100 miles, I went back and he inspected it. He gave me a sticker, and I was driving down the street ten minutes later, and it was back on! Needless to say it was a year later, and I am still driving it with the check engine light on. It is because I am a single mom, and I paid for it with my taxes. I can’t get it fixed or inspected until tax time again!
I am also having serious problems with my transmission slipping. Although I had over 150,000 miles on my car, I've read that these problems are very common with the Impala. Just recently my directional and my hazards have stopped working, as well as my passenger side window! Yesterday, I was leaving for work, and my car would not start. The radio came on, and the lights, but it was completely dead! My son jumped it and thinking maybe I had left a light on or something, but nothing was on! I also have a security light that comes on several times for no apparent reason! By the way, did I mentioned I have to take the key out and turn it around several times before it will turn to start the car? Does anyone else have a rear bumper that fills up with water every time it rains? I hate my car! Thanks for letting me vent.

Car fails to start (security light) and panel light indicator comes on..will not do anything. You wait 10min or so..& presto it starts like nothing is wrong..I'm at the end of my rope with this car. My wife primarily drives our 2002 Chevrolet Impala, which has over 100,000 miles. Sometimes the Chevrolet Impala will not start and has even stalled while driving. Of course, when the car stalls while driving, my wife is suddenly left driving a car down the highway without power steering or brakes. But the security light on the dashboard is 'on'.
This well-known and dangerous issue is due to the well-known and reported problems of the General Motors passlock problem. This is due to the General Motors security module and a flaw in its design. Yet General Motors has not even reported this issue publicly to my knowledge.

I got a 2000 Chevy Impala 3.4l from a family member about a month back. It was running fine. Now sometimes when I go to turn the key, absolutely nothing happens. Nothing. And then ten minutes later, it will start again. Every once in a while, the "SECURITY" light will come on when I'm driving and I have to shut it off and turn it back on to go away.

I purchased a new 2006 Impala SS and I have had nothing but issues within the first year, including brakes--and the oil needs replenishing way too often! It also has an abnormal tire ware! Sometimes, the car would lurch forward from a stop! What a horrible transmission shift! I had replaced the battery several times. And now, the CD is no longer working! Wow! I loved this car when I saw it, but now, I've got nothing but headaches!

No matter how many times I take my vehicle in, they say I have no issue. The vehicle lurches forward as if I was rear-ended when moving from a stop after it slowly accelerates. This is a known issue apparently because you see complaints everywhere of the same issues, even on your website. This is a safety issue and should be covered by GM, as this should not be happening on their vehicles. Mine is an 2007 Impala SS with 4,5000 miles on it and all they can say is that they can't find anything wrong. Is it going to take accidents from this to get anything fixed? This is ridiculous that nobody will help the owners of these vehicles get a resolution. It isn't something we all made up. We want a safe vehicle to drive.

I received a 2002 Chevy Impala from a relative and have had issues with the car not wanting to start since the day I got it. If I have been driving for a while and shut the car off, it will not start again, sometimes for 2 or more hours. I know it is not the car battery because the radio and lights work fine even when the car doesn't start. This happens to me nearly every day.
It is so embarrassing to call into work and tell them I am going to be late because my car won't start, or miss class. I will go to Walmart just to get toilet paper and be stuck there for 2 hours. I have now started leaving my car running while I do quick errands, but that wastes gas and just adds to the pollution problem. Now that gas is over $4 a gallon. I hate to have to leave the thing running for longer than 10 minutes. I hate not wanting to go anywhere because I am scared that I will be stranded. I have looked up this issue online and it seems to be a major problem with this model car. I am greatly disappointed that Chevy has not issued a recall for this problem, but instead is making people pay hundreds of dollars to fix a faulty electrical problem that is their fault.

Vehicle won't start at times. I wait 10 minutes then the car will start. According to internet, this is an extremely common problem. It appears to be worn contacts on ignition switch which causes the bypass/alarm system to shut the car down and not allow it to start. I had this ignition switch replaced about a year and a half ago. Now the problem is back again. This problem seems to affect cars from '99 to '05.

I purchased my Chevrolet Impala from a friend. It has been a good car until recently. For a little over a year now, it simply will not start. I never know if I can use it or not. Sometimes the lights flash on and off while I'm driving. The security light comes on or the Trunk Open light comes on. I have replaced the battery three times in six months. This is a very dangerous car. I just spent $1,565.08 to replace the intake manifold gasket and the water pump. This is the second time I've had to replace the manifold. I will never buy another GM car. I have been stranded and needed to call for a friend or a tow truck to jump the battery several times. I have spent thousands of dollars to try and fix the car with little success.

I bought a used 2003 Chevrolet Impala from them in 2005. I have documented calls to Chevrolet as well as repair bills from their dealership right after I bought the car due to a "check engine light" coming on within days of purchasing the car, as well as the car freezing up and not starting due to a "security" light coming. AND I brought it in because it stalled out and the "low engine oil" light came on within days of buying it. I am a single mom, and I don't know a lot about cars and I tried to take issue with these things and called Chevy main office.
The main office reprimanded the dealership for originally not giving me any work receipts for repairs they did on my car within the first month of buying it and then they told me to take my car back to the same dealership for more repairs. The shop had given me the run around after I brought my car back 4 times. They were slightly agitated with me because I had called the main office to report the issues I was having. I was afraid to take my car back there for anymore repairs because they never fixed the issues that I had brought it in for 4 times and now they were not happy with me because I called the main office.
I even took my car to another Chevy dealer (Lannan Chevrolet in Woburn, Mass.) and they confirmed that my car's intake manifold gasket needed to be replaced and that my car had a service engine light on due to a "evaporative emissions leak" and that my engine was low on oil within days of purchasing the car. I gave up the fight and have kept the car and been paying to have things fixed on it. None of the mechanics I have gone to have ever been able to fix the "service engine light" that comes on after about two weeks after it has been shut off.
It always is listed as an "evaporative emissions leak" but no one can find it. Also, the Passlock Security system has been an ongoing problem and the dealership pretended I didn't know what I was talking about. It has been acting up again and I just went on Youtube and saw that this is an ongoing problem with Chevy Impalas! I can't afford to buy another car right now and I am concerned because the security light continues to come on and sometimes 'freeze' the ignition for 10 minutes.
Yet I was told there was not a security system on my car! I brought it to the dealership and they said because it didn't do it when they had it in the garage, that they couldn't help me. Yet now I am seeing that most Impalas 2004 and older all have this problem. What can I do about this? I am on my last payment for the car and I own it. However, I am tired of investing money in problems that I am now becoming aware of that these problems existed before I purchased the car, and Chevy knew the passlock systems were faulty. What can I do? Please, any advice is helpful.

Traction control comes on for no apparent reason, causes the brakes to chatter, and makes the car skid. I contacted the customer service at Chevrolet and they advised that no one has ever complained about this issue. However, I see this issue all the time on the internet and have heard many mechanics complain about the traction control issues causing issues with the brakes. I was advised by Chevrolet that unless the car was taken to a dealer of their choice that they would not look into the issue.
I have had the hubs replaced on 3 occasions thus fixing the issue for a couple of weeks and then back to the same issue. The geniuses that designed the 2001-2009 Chevy Impala should be the same geniuses that realize that there is a significant possible fatal problem in the traction control and braking system and should rectify this issue. This problem can be seen all across the internet and someone should contact Chevrolet directly to see how many complaints have been logged. It is time Chevrolet faces the issues with this vehicle and fixes them.

I purchased a new 2007 Impala in 01-07. My wife drives 13 miles each way to work and back. In 07-09, with 21,000 miles, the dealer replaced brake pads and turned front rotors. In 2010, with just out of manufacturing warranty, we had to replace battery and positive battery cable, less than 36, 000 miles. Again, in 09-10, brake rotors have to be turned again and not covered under warranty ($189) this time. After searching online, I have found that Impalas have been having a lot of problems with brakes. This could be a serious problem if widely spread. I think they have a problem with the metal being used in their rotors. What? I will have to do those every 10,000 – 15,000 miles?

The car will occasionally not start. Like the other complaints here, it will go for months and be fine. Then it will go for days where it won't start; dead, nothing. If you sit and wait 10-20 minutes, it starts. I can open windows, listen to the radio, just not start the car. Chevy dealer said it was the remote start that we paid them to install. Then we paid them to take it out. That wasn't it. Lost big money there. They replaced many electrical components in the car while it was under warranty. It still happens. I feel guilty selling it. I don't want to unload this problem on someone else. Trading it in also unloads on someone else. What are we supposed to do with it? Is there any info on a class action suit for this problem?

I bought my 2007 Chevrolet Impala May of 2010 with about 83k on it. To begin, the transmission hesitates terribly, shifts hard, and at times slips/slams into gear upon pulling off (even at slow speeds) as if I have been rear ended. This has caused me to almost hit several people in front of me at lights; I have learned to keep distance. I have been to a Chevy dealer (several times) and "nothing wrong" or "hard to diagnose" because no code showing for it (which I was told by another mechanic that this is common in Impalas, bad trannys and no code). Also at one point, I was told the hesitation was normal by the same dealer that said they could not get it to "do anything" but then gave me the same year and model that did not operate this way.
The car does it no matter who drives, even passengers feel it! This problem has just gotten worse. I stayed on it because this is not normal operation, and in return have had a wiring harness (with a short?) replaced and the 2nd clutch assembly replaced with a 3rd and 4th overhaul; it still has the same problem. There seems to constantly be airflow into the car even when the fan is off, and it is often a "skunky" smell. No matter what, upon turning on the AC, the belt is terribly loud and annoying. The radio decides not to work when it is consistently over about 80 degrees outside. The thing kind of sputters all the time.
Service tire pressure monitors message have been on since I bought it, I had them reset and 5 miles down the road, the message came back on. The steering column makes a click/ding feeling/noise when turning. The suspension sucks. EVAC leak continues to occur = terrible gas mileage (valve stuck open).
Recently (within past 3 weeks), it began leaking oil steady, from oil pan or near? I have had to put in several quarts. Today for first time, traction control was activated for absolutely no reason; I was driving 23-25 down a side street, dry outside when it displayed service traction control message, followed by reduced engine power, then never went off. My car sputtered and chugged as I pulled over to turn off the car. I was ** but thought maybe just maybe, it's a fluke after I was able to make it home without it occurring again. Wrong! 4 more times later in the evening, during only about a 5-mile drive, brakes also have a grinding feeling when going down steep hills, I have been told brakes don't need replaced. I had brand new Perelli tires on it upon purchase, and not even quite 4 months, the result is only something seeing would believe. Yes, I said not even quite 4 months. All this in just under 4 months! This is my first GM-Chevy. Never again, and I thought my Mitsubishi was bad.

2001 Chevy Impala is the most dangerous vehicle I have ever owned, and I fear the safety of my family when in it. First, the bolt holding front driver side hub in place fell out causing loss of control of vehicle and may have been fatal. (Solution: Replaced bolt) 1 year later, the bolt holding front passenger side hub in place fell out, causing loss of control of vehicle. This time it happened while I was driving home from work in a construction zone. In addition, the oil is leaking constantly somewhere from my car. I cannot locate it but I can smell it burning when driving. There is also loss of power steering fluid due to hole in hose. Lastly, the fuel, speedometer & temp gauges are inaccurate. It always jumps around. I will never know if this vehicle is overheating because the needles jump sporadically.

I bought a 2001 Chevy Impala in 2006. In the first 1-yr and a half it was a great car. I have been having several problems with this car for the past year and have spent nearly $2000.00 in repairs in less than 6 months at the Meineke shop in Prairieville and the Chevy dealership here in Gonzales, LA. Nothing has worked. It started with the air-conditioner cutting on and off. Sometimes, my car will have to run for 10 minutes to 30 minutes before the air-conditioner cuts on after I start the car. For the past few months, my car has been shutting off after I put it in Drive from the Park or Reverse gears. It shuts off but will cut right back on after I crank it. It has been doing this like once or twice a week for 2 months. Shuts off but cranks right back on.
The Supreme Chevy dealership here checked it and said it was the massive air flow sensor. I had it replaced (which cost a pretty good fortune). One month later, the same problem. Took it back to the Supreme Chevy dealership to let them know, and they said it was some other problem that they did not catch the first time they checked. They wanted to charge another fortune to fix the problem. I did not trust Supreme Chevy so I took my car to Meineke Car Care. I paid another small fortune to fix it. That was in May '10. It is July now, my Impala is not only cutting off every now as before when going into Drive gear, today I was driving down the road and it cut off. The odd thing was my radio and air was still working, but the car cut off.
And guess what, it cranked right back up like nothing was wrong. I am way past frustrated. I pride myself in buying American cars, but after this experience with my beloved Chevy Impala, I am ready to do like my brothers and friends and buy myself a Honda or Nissan. Too bad, I really wanted my next vehicle to be the Chevy Avalanche, but now I feel going the Chevy way isn’t worth it in the long run. I have fixed it 5 times and after each time, the same problem is reoccurring. What is up with these Chevy Impala problems? I have paid between $2500 to $3200 in the past year to repair my car and the same problem keeps repeating itself.

After a lot of research regarding the issue of a complaint with my car--the ignition control panel and switch, it seems there are thousands of complaints regarding this, and GM does nothing to accommodate the issue with their Impalas and other cars. It's a hardship for most people nowadays to shove out $500+ for repairs that should be covered by GM or a faulty ignition switch/sensor that interferes with the operation of the car. it leaves you stranded, and you can't depend or really rely on the car for transportation.
I purchased the car with low miles and maintained it throughout the years, and I have a hard time keeping the car now, considering the fact that GM won't stand by their cars. From my understanding, there are thousands of complaints online that I have come across, and I am sure they have received thousands of complaints as well. They received multiple bailouts, so their corporation wouldn't go under, but they've done nothing to help consumers with their issues that are due to no fault of their own.
It's no wonder that Americans aren't buying GM products. it's how you're treated when you purchase one and how they don't stand by their vehicles. If you can remedy this issue and complaint, I would really appreciate it. If I have to file more complaints with PA Human Relations Commission and the Better Business Bureau, I will. It's not right during this time. I am about to lose my car and my job if this isn't fixed at their expense. I can't afford to lose my job or my car.

We switched from Crown Vics to Chevy Impalas. What a mistake! Nothing but problems, but the biggest issue we have is A/C. Every single car we have has A/C problems, every one! We have even had brand new cars with only a few hundred miles that the A/C started displaying A/C issues. What happens is you run the A/C a few minutes, all is fine. Then the A/C light starts flashing and it stops working. At a complete stop, the A/C cuts out and at constant speed, it will kick on and off. This is not an isolated issue. There needs to be a recall. We have hundreds of these cars all with the same problem. A real mechanic would probably fix the problem but we have undesirables doing our maintenance so you get what you pay for.
Next problems are either weak door hinges or the body itself needs to be reinforced where the hinge is. Nearly all of our cars leak above the doors. The problem can be fixed with brute force, but it is an issue. Given we beat the cars a bit, but the Fords never had these issues.

I have a 2007 Chevy impala and haven't had it long. Kept up with all that needs to be done with it and one night it wouldn't start and showed signs that the battery was dead. So, I then tried to jump start it and it wouldn't do it! So then the computer tells me "security deterant system active" - what the hell was that? I guess it was the system that shuts off if anyone tries to steal it or something like that.
Well, I'm not stealing it, I need to get in my car so it didn't start. I let it sit 9 hours over night. I went to a dealership and one guy told me that the key just needed to be reset with the car, leave it in the ignition for 10 minutes. Id did that but it did not work. The next guy said, "No, your wiring needs to be redone for the battery or the computer in the car". The moment I heard that, I also heard dollars.
So I read into it and saw so many complaints of the same thing! So now I have to replace some things here and GM doesn't want to take responsibility for there product. I'm really pissed off about this but what else can I do? Its still under a loan and I can't do anything about it! Now I have to sit here and wait for them to call me and then they said, "Well the computer is okay lets replace the bcm, let's see if that works".
I asked them if that did not work then what? He said the bcm and I answered by saying all these things that you're doing I'm going to have to pay for and they said yes even if they didn't work! A lot of internet spots say GM should man up to the situation at hand and recall these items and now their not going to! My car, a 2002 Chevy Impala, has an intermittent starting problem, since I purchased it in 2006. For every 2-3 weeks, it simply does not crank by turning the key, but after 10 minutes, it starts again. I have spent a lot of money to try to fix this issue, but it is unsuccessful. After researching on websites, I understand this is a very common issue for GM cars, and may be related to some electric security issue. Therefore, here I am filing the complaint. Due to this, I have encountered delays in work, business, and personal affairs.

I own a 2005 Chevrolet Impala which was purchased in October 2005. The car started shifting hard at 50000 miles. I have read other forums where many people have had the same problem with this same car and newer models also. If there are so many complaints, why can't they do something and fix this problem. I know when I purchased a 1995 Silverado and had problems with the windshield wiper motor at 36000 miles, they eventually got so many complaints. They reimbursed me my expense for the new motor 3 years later. A transmission is very expensive to fix, and I don't understand why they don't do a recall.

I have a Chevy Impala 2005. I have so many problems with this car. I have replaced its CV joints, and water pump. Now, the car only has 77,000 miles, and the windshield wipers have stopped working. The Transmission is shifting so hard. I think it's about to drop out of the car, and the oil is now dripping out of the thing. Something needs to be done about this problem. I have read many people's complaints, and GM could care less that customers can't afford to fix their vehicles. I have over $1,000 into fixing this car, and have another $1,000 more to spend no doubt.

I have a 2007 Impala with fishtailing problems, especially in light snow. This car was very dangerous to drive. I kept bringing the car back to "Mr. Badwrench" and was advised to "keep the traction control on" since this is the way this car is to function. I've always had the traction control on. I finally needed new tires, and had them installed and balanced.
To be certain that the front alignment was proper, I brought the car to a qualified auto repair shop on 10/12/09. The GM dealer where I purchased, and had the car serviced, is no longer in business. I did not want to travel 10 or so miles to another "Mr. Badwrench" dealer. My car had an odometer reading of 35,157 when I brought it in for service. The repair shop discovered that the two rear wheels were way out of line, and realigned the camber in the rear. The GM warranty is up to 36,000 miles.
I no longer have trouble with the fishtailing in light snow, and the car drives perfectly now, whether light or heavy snow, or even ice. I called a GM General Manager for Chevrolet, and advised him of what I had done to correct the situation, and he said that they could not honor the warranty since I did not bring it to another GM dealer. Other GM dealers in our area are no longer with GM, and I was not going to travel miles for this service (the card was too dangerous to drive any long distances).
I believe GM should reimburse me for the cost of repair, for the fishtailing problem, plus the "cooler pipe fittings, steering column flex coupling, labor and materials". The total cost of repair was $627.32. We were fortunate that we did not get into any accidents, and no one was hurt.

I purchased a Chevy Impala in 07. It only had a little over 100 miles on it. I have had nothing but problems with the car since I purchased it. I have had it in the shop to replace tire pressure modules, a popping noise in the steering wheel, paint peeling off side mirrors and I just purchased a new battery, and set of tires at less than 30,000 miles. Now the paint is coming off the side appliques on the car. There are six pieces and when I took it to the dealership for an estimate these pieces are $430 which I think is ridiculous.
You should not even be having to worry about paint problems with a vehicle that is only 3 years old. I called the GM dealership and because this started after my manufactured warranty ran out, they are not willing to cover the expenses. Now one of the appliques has completely come off and I am riding around in a 07 impala advertising for Chevrolet and the car looks like a 2000 model due to the flaws. I have been very disappointed with GM and will never purchase another GM product ever! In my opinion, the paint on a car should last longer than this.

The hot coolant temperature light kept coming on in my 2005 Chevy Impala. I took it to the dealer, they then told me it was the cluster that needed to be replaced, which cost me $875.00. The next day, I was on my way to work, and the car stopped on me with the same thing. I called the dealer. They told me to bring the car back, and I did. They said it is the intake manifold, which would cost me $1500.00, money I don't have.
So I took it to another shop. They charged me $1000.00 to fix. Well, 1 month later, I am still having the same problem. I replaced the whole coolant system costing thousands of dollars. I am now forced to get rides with my co-worker, so I don't lose my job.
The dealer said that it is a blockage from the Dex coolant. I am upset, because my car is 5 years old. I should not be having major car problems. I keep my car up on a regular, because I depend on it. Also, I have children I need to transport to and from school. But now, I have to depend on someone else to help me to and from. Help. The replacement parts and labor cost $1135.00. The dealer claims that it could have been caused by excess snow on the windshield overloading the motor. I live in New England! It snows. My 2007 Impala, which bought new, has been a pain sense I got it. I have replaced the tires 4 times due to ware on the front tires inner tread. Also the car has required 3 total alignments each time I replaced the tires, all under 40,000 miles.
I find this a bit ridiculous, not cost effective, nor is it time efficient at all. It requires me to take days off of work and money out of my pocket because I don't feel as if the dealerships that I currently hold a warranty with listen to my problem nor do they attempt to resolve the issue claiming that simply I bought bad tires from them. Which I find this completely unacceptable as they should be selling and replacing products under their warranty that are of great quality. If selling broken and damaged goods is the way to run a successful company, then I might as well sell my sons worn tires at full price. This makes me reconsider purchasing a car of this make and buying a used car as it seems that my New Impala might as well be used.

I bought a used 2005 Chevy Impala back in December of 2008 with around 55k miles on it. I have now had the car a little over a year and since then the driver side power window has went out. About a month or less, after getting the car, I noticed that the transmission would sometimes shift very hard. I have heard that this is a common problem with Impalas of my generation and that it is probably the solenoid that is going bad. Also, another problem that I have ran into is that sometimes the car wouldn't start because of the security system. The car would display "security" on the information screen.
The user manual didn't come with the car, so I never knew exactly what it meant. I believe the car thought I was an intruder and completely shut down. That incident happened to me about 3 times and so far has caused me to be late for work and other events. I do not drive hard or rough at all. I feel that if I did, the car wouldn't have lasted this long because it just feels like everything is one screw away from falling completely apart! I just clocked 75k miles yesterday. A car that is having this many "expensive" problems with less that 100k miles is just unacceptable. General Motors needs to be held accountable! I would like to purchase another Chevy (Malibu), but Honda Accord is sounding better and better everyday.
To get all the things fixed that are going bad with the car, I am looking at 200 dollars to get the power window fixed, 700 dollars to get work did on the transmission for the hard shifting, and another 6-7 hundred for the security system to be fixed so that it works properly. Have there been any recalls for any of these problems?

Thinking I needed an alignment, the tech told me the rear tires are cambering requiring a strut swap. This has trashed my wheel bearings, requiring me to replace that. In addition, I had to get new tires all around because this cambering caused severe tread separation. I come to find out the mechanic sees these cars monthly with these problems. Apparently, GM knows about it and will do little to correct it. It's no wonder they are losing market share and customers. With these crappy business practices, I hope they do under. There is a problem with the Passlock system on the Chevrolet Impalas and Malibus. The Passlock system is a theft deterrent; it is optional to have this system activated. Even though the system is not activated, the system still performs some type of function that shuts the automobile down as if it has been stolen. I've searched the Internet and there are hundreds of people online posting complaints about the same problem. Apparently, this is a malfunction the Chevrolet caused when manufacturing these cars. No recall has been issued and Chevrolet will charge to have this problem fixed. I was told it was about $800. This is my mother's car. It's a 2002 Chevy Impala and has been sitting idle for about a year. This issue is clearly a manufacturer's defect and should be covered by the dealer.

This car would cut off when driving slowly such as in heavy traffic and parking lots. Smoke would come out from under the hood. We had it towed to the dealer and they could not or would not find the problem. Eventually, we had a sensor replaced and the Egr valve replaced. Several months ago, while it was still under a warranty, we took it to the dealer to check the transmission issue. Finally, I went to our local Chevy dealer and was told that there were no codes, so there was no problem. A week later, the car started racing when the gas pedal was pressed and the car started lurching forward and the transmission was making really weird noises. I took it back to Chevy dealer and again was told that there was no problem because the almighty machine saw no codes. By this time I had spent $80 for a diagnosis and $70 for a loaner car.
The day I got it back from the dealer it started to lurch forward when accelerating, so my wife and I bring the the car in and have the service manager take a drive with us. Up to this point, it had only been service people in the car. After much excuse making, he finally admitted that, "Yes, the transmission was slipping" and to give him the case number that we we had received from Chevy. We had called them the minute this problem occurred. This is the 2nd transmission for this car. The first owner had to replace the transmission at 50,000 miles. We have received a lot of lip service from Chevy and a lot of "there's nothing wrong with the car" from the dealer. Today the 15th of December, we got in the car to take my wife to work and no reverse, no drive, nothing. So I called the tow truck and off she goes to the dealer again.

The car was running great until 6 months ago. My own car thought I was trying to steal it. The security pass lock armed and would not allow me to start it. I called the dealership and they told me how to reset the computer, so I did. Then car would not start, so I bought a new battery.
Now my low coolant light comes on and the temperature gauge goes in the red. I took it to a mechanic and he told me there is nothing wrong. It never smoked, it was full of coolant, no leaks, nothing. Finally, after the issue of trans. leak as well as 2 inches of water in the car (I had to tell them the cowling under the hood wasn't attached; a mechanic friend told me that, but they should have known), I decided it was in my best interest to trade it in.
My G6 has 15000 miles on it and it has been in for leaking intake gasket, new comp. module, and a bent push rod. I just want a good car! I lost pay as well as getting attendance points at work. I am afraid to take the car on the road. I have a hard enough time with the payments without the added burden of constantly taking the car in to the dealership. I guess that I am imagining it. When backing up, there is a loud squeal. It is loud enough that people turn and look at the car. Yesterday, I was told that General Motors said it is a common complaint and that it is a common characteristic of this design and is worse when cold. The service notice to GM repair shops says that some brake noise is normal and differences in loading, type of driving or driving style depending on weather conditions.
I drive it about 20 miles a day and use the brakes during that trip. When I drop my friend off and back out of the driveway, it is just as loud. I believe that the service department is doing all it can. The service manager groans when he sees me come in and I am sure he wants me to be happy so I will go away. Everything has been covered under warranty but it still makes me unhappy that we replaced our 2000 Impala (that had no issue with) with one that sounds like a really old car needing brakes. We love the car but wonder what will happen when they no longer will do warranty work on the brakes. It is difficult for me to believe that GM knows about the defect and does nothing to fix it. Oh wait, that's maybe why they are going bankrupt.

We ended up needing a water pump and a compressor, which costs about $1,000.00. Three hours into our 12 hour journey to the beach on the PA Turnpike, we heard a knocking sound, like a spoon in a tin can, as we were exiting to a service plaza. We got towed to a Chevy dealership nearby (on a Friday night) and waited for family members leaving after us to bring us our Ford F150 so we could proceed. We picked the car up one week later using a car trailer and returned home to get the engine replaced because it had thrown a rod and was garbage. Mind you, the check engine light never came on. We had no other signs, and we had kept up on all maintenance. Ultimately, we paid $2,200.00 for a used engine with 11,000 miles rather than $4,000.00 for a new one. I am able to toggle the hazard switch 3/4 times and the signals with start working for a while. This is a serious safety issue that Chevy recalled on Malibus, but no the Impalas.
Not to be outdone, I am also the victim of the design flaw with the catalytic converter. The insulation inside the converter comes loose and clogs the converter. The car would simply sputter and hesitate at about 2000 RPM. I was basically a stand still if trying to accelerate on any type of incline. I just picked up the car from the garage yesterday and my repair bill was over $1200 dollars for parts and labor. They also replaced the O2 sensors because they basically crumbled in their hand.
I have other known design flaw issues like with the battery cable the broke off still attached to the battery. Apparently they changed this design in the following year. The brake rotors had to be replaced at 30000 miles because, once again, Chevy used some cheap composite materials and they warped. The repair garage said this was yet another known issue on the Impalas. It is so frustrating to hear those words each and every time a repair is performed.
I have had issues with a defective wiring harness that caused problems with the interior courtesy lights staying on, even after the car was turned off. The thermostat went bad, there was a leak in a fuel line, the list goes on and on. This car is driven 36 miles a day and not abused. Regular oil changes with Mobil 1 every 3000 miles. I have so much invested in repairs that it isn't even worth selling at this point. I am pretty confident this is my last Chevy. I just put 4 new tires and brakes on it on top of everything else.

But the problem I'm having now is with the head lights going out at night time without any warning, that is very scary and very dangerous. That should be and must be a safety recall. Can you do anything about it. I've read where a lot of chev impala owners are having the same problem.....Thank you.

About a year ago, I bought a used 2006 Chevy Impala with 33,000 miles on it. The car still had the factory warranty so I didn't buy the extended warranty "big mistake". Sure enough, once the factory warranty was over, that's when all the problems started. The main crank seal cracked so it leaks oil every time I drive the car, and leaves a nice little oil spot in my driveway. Then about a month ago, the check engine light came on so I went to AutoZone to get a diagnostic test and the tester couldn't find anything, so I kept driving thinking that a sensor went out.
About a week ago, my girlfriend was using my car and the key got stuck in the ignition. We let the car sit for about a week the battery died because the switch was still on. This weekend, I took it to my mechanic, he checked it out with the tester got the codes and found out that the BCM (Body control module) needs to be reset. He also found out that it's under a manufacturer's warranty, and he called the service center at Galles and set up an appointment for me. I hope that when I get there Monday morning, they wont go off and charge me a thousand dollars when it should be fixed for free. Another thing, I also have a bad squeaking sound when I roll the front windows down. It's really starting to freak me out. I've never had a car with so many problems. I've only had the car for a year and I still have four more years to pay it off. If I trade it in, i'll be upside down like 8,000 dollars, that's only if they give me the blue book value. But if I trade it in, this car has made it where I don't trust any new car anymore.

I bought this 2001 Chevy Impala with approximately 60,000 miles in June 2004. Since then I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, radiator, intake manifold, the motor fan and brakes too many times to name. I couldn't afford to make car payments and repairs so I fell behind on my car note and other payments which has affected my credit. The car just started cutting off on while driving down the road. The mechanic at Good year said that it was the intake manifold leaking. I had it replaced $800.00. The car started running hot again. I couldn't afford any more repairs so I let it sit for a while. I finally took it to a Chevrolet dealership and they said that I needed a new engine. Currently the car is sitting in my yard with $3500.00 left to pay on it. Not another Chevy for me.

I purchased a 2007 Impala Lt from a small independant dealer in October 2008 with 29,000 miles. I bought a newer car to have dependable transportation because of travel. The car has spent more time in the shop than any car I have ever owned. First two weeks of ownership it was in the shop because the tire monitoring system would keep comimg on the complete tire monitoring system was removed from interior and replaced. The car ran great for a while and at 35,000 miles the check engine light would come on and off.
At 40,000 miles the California polution pump needed changed do to water in pump and bad valve. Said this was not covered under warranty. I took it to a second dealer which said it was coverd that the special Calfornia polution pump has a 80,000 mile warranty so I had it replaced. Two days later the check engine light is back on. Each time car is in shop I have to find another car for bussiness trips at my expense. So I have waited three weeks with the light on
Now I just noticed that I have developed A antifrezze leak from what looks like the water pump area which means I will need to rent a car while this is getting fixed. I love the way the car drives and handles but this car is such a mechanical pile. I fix and retore Old chevelles and spend less time time repairing and maintenence on these cars that are over 30 years old than I do this 2007 Impala. I have always been a strong chevy guy and I even tried to trade this car yesterday for a brand new Impala but the dealer only will give $10,000 trade.
I am so disgusted with the quality of this car the shady warranty service. A car should not cost mee almost a $1000.00 a month in depreciation and additional $1000.00 dollars in alternitive transportation while in the shop. I f I could unload this Lemon I would do it in a heart beat. I am sick of this car and need a new dependable car.

My radio would come on, but my car wouldn't even roll over. It took me 15 to 20 mins. to mess with the keys to try to start it. My husband is a certified Mechanic and he couldn't find out what was wrong with this. We even took it to a dealership and they said that it could be 3 of the things. It could be the housing, it could be the ignition switch itself, or it could be the key reader. To this day, my car still won't start when the security light comes on. I have NEVER owned a vehicle that had problems with starting!!!!!! This is a HUGE problem when we payed $20,000 for this piece of junk and we are STILL paying on this until 2010. My car was a 5 yr. loan and I can sadly say that we are not impressed with this car at all!!!! Just yesterday, the key cylinder locked up and wouldn't let us turn the key on. It took my husband 30 mins. to try to fix it. He had to take a hammer and tap the key switch itself and finally it turned. It did the same thing today @ my husband's work.

I thought i was making a smart investment for buying a car with 50k miles on it, cash (6,200)... thinking, no car payment, and its not going to grossly depreciate on me in just a few years and it was in Great Condition. I bought it 3.5 years ago, (so in 2005). Well the Tranny went out on me 2 months later at 52,000 miles. Little Did I Know, that was the beginning of my problems, I'm at 85k miles now and the tranny is going again, i just replaced the whole front suspension of my car about (inner and outer tie rods, hubs, bushings)which could be called regular maintenence, fine, but... my bushings are eating through my ALUMINUM cradle, underneath the car, causing structural concerns. And Like everyone else, with this car, my blinkers only work when they want, The Car Still looks great, but is only bluebooked at 2500 dollars, after, while it needs more than that in repairs. (2000 for tranny and 500+ to fix the blinker switch). I'll never buy another chevy product in my life unless they recall this car. Oh, by the way, ive repaired the head gasket twice since i've had it at 800 a time. the front end suspension repairs that i just paid for this month was 1300, the tranny was 2000 the first time. not to mention the repairs it needs now.. I didnt know this many problems would occur, and since they did, it just so happens i could of leased a brand new vehicle and would of been further ahead than a used car that i bought cash in great condition. GM got me good. With Notorious Tranny Problems, Engine Problems, Suspension Problems, Electrical Problems on this car, How do they Not Get Held Liable. On December 1,2007 the security light on my 2003 Chevy Impala began coming on intermittently. When I took it in to have it checked it wouldn't come on. Shortly after the security light started coming on (the security light never stayed on steady)my power door locks quit working. My husband replaced the fuse and they would work for a few days and then quit again. On May 9,2008 I drove my Impala about 25 miles from my home, turned off the engine and went into a store for about 15 minutes. When I came out my car started but my radio read LOCKED. It then went off and never happened again. Later that day I was in and out of stores and everytime it started and was running just fine until I went somewhere and left it parked for about 45 minutes. When I came out it wouldn't start. I turned the key and my radio would come on and my CHECK ENGINE light would come on. I tried about 3 times and then it started. I went to the grocery store and when I came out it once again wouldn't start. My radio would come on and my CHECK ENGINE light would come on. After a few more tries it started. I took my groceries home, never turning off my engine and then drove my car straight to BIG JOHN'S AUTO REPAIR at 118 S. Madison St. Mooresville, Indiana 46158. John Ratcliff is the qualified mechanic at 317-831-2100. John kept my car until May 16,2008, in which he tried to start my car about 200 times. He called me and said that it started everytime for him all week and the security light never came on and the scanner didn't throw any codes. I went and picked up the car, it started just fine. On May 17, 2008 I drove about 10 miles from my house and turned off my engine for about an hour and when I tried to leave, big surprise, my car wouldn't start. I called John Ratcliff of Big John's Auto Repair and he came to where I was to try to figure out what was going on with my car and when he got there he tried to start my car and it fired right up. Afraid of being stranded somewhere I was very leary of driving it. On May 20,2008 I had to go into town (about 20 miles round trip) to pay a bill. I would not have to turn my engine off so when my car started I drove it. While turning off a rural road onto a highway a rocker arm bolt blew out of the head. I drove straight to Big John's Auto Repair, about 1 miles down the road. I left my car with him for what I thought would be a simple repair because I had already repaired another rocker arm bolt in late December 2007. While fixing that repair, John discovered that my ignition switch was going out and that was what was causing my starting problems. Okay fine, I didn't think that was a normal wear and tear problem or normal maintence, but it had to be fixed. I wasn't stressing it was summertime and I didn't really have to drive that much. It would be fine. After installing 2 ignition switches and still not getting my car to run, John called in a guy by the name of Curt. Curt actually works for a GM Dealership. My bill is growing and I still don't have a car. Then I was told that I need a new Control Body Module. Wow my bill is still growing. When I was told that I told John to stop all work for 2 reasons. 1. I didn't have the money right now and wouldn't be able to pick up the car. and 2. I really think that this is a GM problem. My husband bought me this car in September of 2003, from Andy Mohr Chevrolet in Plainfield, Indiana. He bought me a new car because he wanted me to have something dependable due to the fact that I have 3 kids. I don't drive my car hard. It has never been driven out of state. I have mostly driven it too my kids school, the grocery, shopping, and church. It has about 60,000 miles on it. I have had very little problems with the car. There was a problem with the power steering (I am pretty sure that it was the power steering) while it was under warranty and I took it to Hubler Chevrolet in Greenwood, Indiana because they were the only ones that could get to it in a timely manner. I took my car to Pedigo Chevrolet in Mooresville, Indiana in October of 2006 because it was overheating on me and also to get an oil change. The man came out and told me that the reason it was overheating was due to a plastic gasket instead of a metal one and it was getting stuck (something to that effect)it would cost me around $800.00. I was shocked and totally unprepared, so I got my oil change and went to get a 2nd opinion. When I went to pay for my oil change I about fell over when my total was @ $80.00. I was charged $50.00 for them to tell me what was wrong. I did take my car to a private but qualified mechanic (or as the owners manuel states a qualified technician)for a 2nd opinion. They quoted me a price of @ $600.00. So I let them do the work. I then went back to Pedigo because they did not tell me that I would have to have all of the oil and other fluids drained when I had this repair done. So I had to get and pay for 2 oil changes in about 3 days. Pedigo was good about setting that right by giving me my next oil change free. They never said a word to me about having the work down by a private mechanic. The only other problem that I have had is the rocker arm bolt that blew out of the head in late December of 2007. (The bolt that John of Big John's Auto Repair fixed was not the same one that was fixed in December of 2007). This brings me to the present. I asked a couple of other mechanics and got some advice from some family members of what should I do? First thing that I did was to contact Andy Mohr where I bought the car. I spoke to a manager named Chris. His solution was to trade it in. First of all, our credit won't allow us to trade right now. Second, he just wants to make money. Third, the car is almost paid off and I'll have a nice car with low miles that is completely paid for. Why would I want to go pay my mechanic bill and pay to have the car towed to their lot for them to give me nothing on the trade because it doesn't even run. STUPID!!!! He did have his service manager call me to tell me that there is nothing that they can do because I won't bring it to them. They won't listen to me. I have to pay for what work has been done, then I'll have to pay to have it towed and they don't even know if they can help me. Plus I will have to pay for them to tell me what is wrong when I already know what is wrong and they are going to charge me more that what John of Big John's Auto Repair would, so then I'm going to to pay to have it towed back to Big John's. Completely aggravated at their willingness to help fix the problem and satisfy the customer I went straight to the top and called Detroit, Michigan. My file # is 71-643979924. I talked with Rita Rodriguez and she was very helpful in trying to expedite my case. However she couldn't because my car was not at a GM Dealer. I was told that in order for GM or Chevrolet to help me I had to take the car to a dealer. Back to my problem. Some of the work has already been done and has to be paid for and then the car has to be towed to a dealer for them to even say if they can help me. STUPID!!! I read my owners manuel and found all through it the phrase see your dealer or a qualified technician for service and dealer or qualified service center diagnosis and service may be required. The owners manuel even has a section on doing your own repairs and directs you on how to order the proper service manuel. The manuel also has a section about service that states that GM hopes that you will bring your car to them for service. Nowhere in the manuel does it say that you have to take the car to a dealer for help. Another thing that I brought to their attention is that John of Big John's Auto Repair does warranty work for GM all the time. He calls GM, tells them the problem, they give him a credit card number, he does the work. If he is qualified to that work for GM, why isn't he qualified to diagnose my problem and tell them that this is a problem. I gave Rita 2 days to do some research and she called me back and said that there was nothing that they could do because my car was not at a dealership. What a croc?!? That is when I spoke to her supervisor Andrew. He was rude and didn't listen. He wouldn't answer my questions like the one above and when I asked him How many people have to complain about the same thing before they do something? This isn't something little, this is a $22,000.00 investment. Andrew told me that my case was being closed as unsatisfied customer because I wouldn't take it to a dealer. I am at my wits end. My husband got online and found that there are several people that have had the same problem and have complained to deaf ears obviously. In those complaints I was reminded of another problem that I have had with the car but it has not happened recently. While driving the headlights go out and I am left in the dark. What's that all about? I know that a lot of people will just take the flaws and have them fixed and go on. That might be easy for some but not for me. I am a full time college student and a mother of 3. My husband is the sole provider for this family and we have to stretch every penny. So we sat down and decided to buy a new car because we thought that it would be pretty dependable until our money wasn't so tight. I am not trying to get something for nothing. If the rocker arm bolt has nothing to do with the security/ignition switch problem that's fine, we'll pay for that. When I read about so many others that are having the same problem that is something that Chevrolet/General Motors should help rectify. I have been without my car for 60 days. I have been driving illegally because my only other means of transportation is an old beat up Ford pick up (but it starts and runs). I have to cram me and all my boys in the front seat with not enough seat belts. God forbid something happen to one of them because Chevrolet/General Motors wouldn't help solve a problem with their product and my kids don't have a sfae car to ride in. School starts in 40 days. I have got to have my car. Please help me.

The air conditioner stopped working some mach. told me to unhook the battery for about 15 mins and let the comp. reset itself but thats a temp fix. I wish GM would buck up and pay attention they should be recalling all these chevys that have these problems if they would just look on the internet one right after another same problem with them all from 2000 till 2008 way to go GM I am still paying on a dead horse I don't dare to drive it I don't like my lights not working in the dark. Many GM vehicles are experiencing PassLock II system failures. I own a 2003 Chevy Impala and have had a lot of trouble with the car not starting and the security light coming on. These events seem random for the past 2 years. I did not take this car to a GM certified dealer because I don't feel like being taken to the cleaners. What I did is very unusual, but I tore the dash apart and looked at their PassLock II system myself. I am very experienced in electronics, engine management controls and software. Eventually, I removed the ignition switch and really did a detailed investigation. What I found is that GM completely under-designed the system: 1) The male PassLock connector does not fit securely in the female connector block. It wiggles around. 2) The connector pins are not gold plated but what looks like tin/lead plating, which oxidizes over time. 3) The Body Computer software does not compensate for the oxidation that builds up with the tin/lead connector pins. The critical analog signal to the Body Computer drifts because of mechanical issues, temperature and humidity. I fixed the problem on my vehicle by hand soldering the 3 wires (White, Black and Yellow) directly to the PassLock male connector pins. My Impala's problem is fixed without GM's expensive, and I might add useless, help. The average GM dealership repair bill is around $400 and the dealers do not solve or fix the root cause. I fixed it myself not by replacing expensive parts or reprogramming the Body Computer but by making the electrical connection secure. So my years of experience and a Computer Science degree finally pays off. I wish I had 1% of the money GM has taken from consumers because of their PassLock II engineering oversights. Some consumers are choosing to bypass their PassLock systems by other methods. What else can they do? We, the car owners, want representation and I can provide you with the technical expertise that GM does not expect anyone on Earth to have... except maybe themselves.

I purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Impala LT from the above dealer. The first time I had the tires rotated the car developed a vibration similar to one if the tires are out of balance. I returned to the service department and was advised the problem was the wear pattern on the tires and it would probably smooth out on its own. The second time I had the tires rotated, I had the same results only this time it is worse. The car vibrates extremely at 55mph plus. I have driven 4000 miles since the rotation and there is no improvement. I talked the second time with the service manager at Weber Chevrolet in whom I have complete confidence and he said it is the wear pattern on these tires. These Are Goodyear Integrity tires and are completely unsatisfactory. I know I probably will not receive any compensation for this problem but I try to let everyone I know of this problem. I can assure you this will be the last set of Goodyear Tires on my car and any of my family's cars.

I can go weeks without a problem, but eventually I am suprised (well not anymore) when I get in my vehicle and it won't start. I purchased a 2003 Chevy Impala just before I retired in January 2007 which had close to 50,000 miles on it. I have just recently begun to have problems with the air-conditioner and had repairs done. Then shortly after that I had to be towed to a GM dealership while I was out of town and had repairs done. My vehicle would not crank and they said it was the BCM that needed replacing. When I got my car back, I saw that they had replaced the BCM, replaced the IMG, replaced an oil switch, and also claimed that there was a leak of some sort with the air-conditioning coolant. I have been researching repairs on the internet and learned of a classaction lawsuit in Canada against GM concerning a defective intake manifold gasket. The allegation is that the IMG degrades prematurely causing coolant to leak into the engine. The plastic used to make the IMG facilitated corrosion because it permitted leakage from the coolant system. The IMG did not properly seal the engine, causing leaks to occur. Among other consequences, the coolant mixes with the engine oil making the oil ineffective and damaging the engine. In some cases engines overheat and seize completely creating a danger to the operator and occupants and requiring complete engine replacements. I understand that GM refuses to accept responsiblity for this problem.

While waiting for it to start, I have met 5-6 people in parking lots who also have this problem with their Impalas. We have taken the Impala to TX, Mass, and MN Chev dealers,(while on vacation) and they all say: YES, CHEV KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. They just don't know how to fix it, except by putting in new electrical parts ONE-BY-ONE, which they say would cost thousands. I even brought the car in for service while the regional manager was at the local GM dealership and he acknowledged the problematic shake but had no fix for the issue. I have this problem documented with GM at least 6 times now and until they find an update to correct this problem I have to live with it. My last conversation with a GM mechanic a week ago did happen to acknowledge that GM is working on this problem and when they figure out the issue there will be a fix. On August 6, 2007 my boyfriend and I bought a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. It had 16,253 miles on it. I noticed about a week or so later that it was making a noise but you could only hear it from the inside of the car. Kinda a ticking/squeaking noise so I called and made an appointment for it to be looked at. I took it in on August 16, 2007.
I was told that it was a heater hose and they ordered it and I would get a card in the mail telling me when it was in. When I got the card I made my next appointment.
On September 6, 2007 I took the car in for the heater hose to be installed. I also had noticed that the brakes were pulsing and the front windows made a horrible screeching noise when rolled down. So I told them about it all and they said they would look at those problems too. They put on the inlet and outlet heater hoses, said the front rotors were warped so they turned them, and they ordered new seals for the front windows.
So away I go and guess what.. the noise is still there and the brakes are doing the same thing. But I waited until I got the card in the mail saying my seals were in before I went back up there. So on September 21, 2007 I took the car back again. The guy that heard the noise the first time agreed with me that it was definitely louder. Anyway they replaced the front windows seals. It fixed the screeching even though I have wind noise I didn't have before. And they said the rear rotors were rusty so they turned them, and as far as the noise.. they told me when they called me that it was injector noise and couldn't be fixed. So my boyfriend and his brother both called up there and they were told it was something to do with the fuel return and there is no fix for it at this time. That GM is trying to come up with a fix. And then put on the repair paper the noise is considered normal.
Is there anything I can do about my car? I've paid out $4000 for down payment, first month insurance, taxes and license and I have to listen to a noise that supposedly can't be fixed and the brakes are doing the same thing too. They never fixed them either. Buying a car is not supposed to be a nightmare and I'm so sick of dealing with them and all the problems that I hate the car.
I have had the car not quite two months and have sat at the dealer more times than I should have to. I had my car 46 days when they told me that it couldn't be fixed. Is there a lemon law that applies here? Is there any way that I can get a different car? I mean I'm not so sure that they know for sure what is going to fix the noise.
I don't want to have problems and more problems while it's under warranty or especially after. I don't have tons of money to put in a car that's why I bought a new one. By the time the car is paid for it's costing us over $30,000. I don't think it's fair to have to hear it can't be fixed. My mom bought a 2007 Impala the same night I bought mine. Same motor..her car no problems what so ever. So I'm at a loss as to what I can do. Could you please help me try to figure out if there is anything I can do.
