Endurance coverage

Endurance offers six vehicle service contract plans with customizable coverage levels to suit your vehicle and budget.

We’ve broken down some contract details to give you an idea of covered parts and exclusions in each plan.

Endurance auto protection plans

Endurance offers six auto protection plans that vary in coverage levels and eligibility requirements: Secure, Secure Plus, Superior, Supreme, Advantage and Premier. Here’s a quick overview of each:

  • Secure is similar to a powertrain-only plan, which protects the most important parts that make your car run, like the engine, transmission and drivetrain.
  • Secure Plus offers expanded coverage that adds protection for systems such as steering and certain electrical components.
  • Premier provides similar coverage to Secure Plus for high-mileage vehicles (more than 150,000 miles).
  • Superior includes broader component coverage for parts such as the air conditioning, fuel system and suspension.
  • Supreme offers exclusionary coverage, similar to the manufacturer’s warranty that comes with a new car.
  • Advantage offers comprehensive-level coverage plus up to $3,500 in annual maintenance benefits for things like oil changes.

In addition to the six plans listed above, Endurance representatives may be able to offer additional coverage options or plan variations depending on your vehicle’s make, model, mileage and usage.

Endurance benefits

Each Endurance plan comes with standard benefits, including 24/7 roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement and trip interruption reimbursement. All plans include a free year of Elite Benefits after a $29 activation fee.

These added protections include:

  • Windshield repair covers up to $500 if your windshield is chipped or cracked due to road hazards.
  • Collision discounts offer up to $500 per covered collision, up to two incidents per year.
  • Key fob replacement has a $500 limit on key or key fob repairs or replacements.
  • Tire repair or replacement covers up to four tires per year due to road hazards, with repair costs covered up to $150 per incident or $600 total.

Endurance protection plan costs

The cost is estimated to be between $1,200 and $1,920 per year for a basic Endurance vehicle protection plan. On the high end, Roger in Texas told us his Endurance plan cost $4,500, and Rodney in Louisiana told us his plan was $4,900.

Considering average extended warranty costs range between $600 and $1,000 per year, Endurance plans aren’t the lowest-priced option. Final pricing depends on whether you choose a financing plan or pay for the contract in full.

There are many factors that can affect the cost of your plan, including your vehicle’s make, model, year, mileage, and whether you finance your contract. The most accurate way to determine cost is to request a free quote by providing your contact details and basic vehicle information. You can get a free quote by phone, complete a quick form online or view your price instantly through the Endurance online store.

There have been a handful of complaints about price increases that confused some plan holders. Mrs. L in Pennsylvania wrote in a recent review: “Today I went to renew and add an additional car, and the quote was almost 5x what I am paying with them now.” Carl in Arizona “received a letter about a price increase …” but was unclear which of their three insured vehicles were affected, saying, “There was nothing in the letter about which vehicle.”

Despite the complaints, most Endurance customers reported high satisfaction with pricing and billing. Darroll in Georgia said that Endurance charged less than other companies and highlighted their deductible program.

Endurance payment options

Endurance offers flexible payment plans and term lengths when you finance your coverage. There are also seasonal promotions and limited-time offers that may lower your costs.

One area where Endurance stands out is its 36-month, interest-free payment schedule. Endurance also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee period if you decide you don’t want the protection after all.

How do you file a claim with Endurance?

First, stop driving when you notice a problem. Then, use the Endurance Customer Portal or call the roadside assistance provider listed in your contract. For the best chances of getting your claim approved by Endurance, take these steps:

  1. Take your car to a licensed repair facility. It can be your mechanic, a dealership or one from Endurance’s RepairPal network. Show your Endurance vehicle service contract or contract number to the service manager.
  2. Get the repair approved first. Have the service manager obtain authorization from Endurance before any repairs.
  3. Authorize any teardowns or inspections. Endurance might request an inspection or a teardown to see what’s wrong. If the issue isn’t covered, you may need to pay for the diagnosis.
  4. Pay any applicable deductible. Go over what’s covered with the shop. You’ll need to pay any deductible directly, which is anywhere from $0 to $200.
  5. Keep all documentation throughout the repair process. The mechanic should bill Endurance directly. Make sure all repair paperwork is sent to Endurance within 30 days.

Endurance pays claims directly to the repair shop, so you don’t have to pay anything out of pocket other than your deductible. Payouts are limited to the vehicle’s trade-in value, though. As a result, maximum payouts differ for each contract.

Endurance FAQ

Are Endurance plans transferable?

Endurance vehicle protection plans are typically transferable within 30 days of the vehicle's sale and require a $50 transfer fee. Ask a representative to see if your car is eligible for a transfer.

Do dealerships accept Endurance?

Yes, many dealerships throughout the country accept Endurance automotive protection plans. Its auto warranties are honored at any ASE-certified repair facilities across the country.

» MORE: Where can you use an extended auto warranty?

Does Endurance have a waiting period?

Yes. Once you buy a plan, the coverage begins after 30 days and 1,000 miles.

Can you cancel an Endurance plan?

Endurance has an unconditional 30-day, money-back guarantee. If you decide the coverage isn't what you're looking for, the cancellation process is simple. Call the customer service number, and if you haven't used your plan in the first 30 days, Endurance will refund your money.

Are Endurance prices negotiable?

Yes, negotiating prices is a fairly standard industry practice. It’s helpful to have lower quotes from a few other extended warranty companies at hand when asking an agent to lower your price.

Does Endurance require a vehicle inspection?

No, Endurance doesn’t require a vehicle inspection before offering coverage. However, you must properly maintain your car to keep your contract valid.

How much does an Endurance plan cost a month?

If you pay monthly for a basic plan, Endurance protection plans cost anywhere from $99 to $160 a month. For instance, Bob in Nevada pays $102 per month for Select Premier coverage on his 2017 Nissan Rogue. On the higher end, Thomas in Indiana pays $225 per month for coverage on his BMW.

What are the most common reasons for Endurance claim denials?

The most frequently cited reasons for claim denials with Endurance include:

  • Preexisting conditions: Claims for issues that existed before coverage began are often denied.
  • Non-covered parts: Repairs or parts not listed in the contract are a common source of denials.
  • Improper maintenance: Failing to follow manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedules can result in denied claims.
  • Waiting period: Claims filed before the end of the initial waiting period are typically denied.
  • Unauthorized repairs: Repairs made at non-approved shops or without pre-authorization may not be covered.

As with most providers, Endurance’s denial reasons align closely with industry standards. To avoid denied claims, it is important to review the contract thoroughly, maintain proper records and ensure repairs are authorized and covered under your plan.

Still have questions?

Is an Endurance protection plan worth it?

Endurance offers some solid benefits: It covers vehicles up to 20 years old, allows you to use a nationwide network of certified auto repair shops and can protect you from surprise mechanical breakdown costs. Many positive customer reviews praise how easy it is to sign up, and they like having the peace of mind. But the real test comes when you need repairs.

Customers frequently report that actual coverage or the claims process didn’t match their expectations. For instance, an Endurance reviewer in Illinois told us: “I paid thousands of dollars into my Endurance Warranty, including a transferred plan worth around $3,500 and nearly $3,000 more on the current one. When it came time to use the warranty, the coverage and service were nothing like what was promised. Getting answers has been a nightmare, and the amount they claim I paid is completely inaccurate.”

That doesn’t mean Endurance is a scam. These types of complaints are common with almost all auto protection and extended car warranty providers. Endurance can still make sense if you have an older vehicle and want backup for major repairs. Just be sure to understand exactly what is (and isn’t) covered before you buy.

I got prices from a couple of different companies, but Endurance had a more affordable price. They didn't have other people telling me that they had used them, like CarShield and didn't want to pay the bill after somebody called in a claim. I've got two friends who are fighting with CarShield right now. So, I had already predetermined I would not be dealing with CarShield.

My experience with Endurance was good. The lady was detail-oriented and told me everything that would be covered, as well as what wouldn’t be covered. She was patient with me as I had to go outside to look at the mileage on my car and get the VIN. She told me to take my time, whatever I needed to do, and she could wait. She was polite, nice and shared information about different things that I could choose to do or not do, and how soon a claim could be made. I asked her where I could find all this information and she said they were going to send everything we talked about in an email. I would have to review it for the first 30 days and if anything isn’t to my satisfaction, I can call him to ask any questions, or if I am not comfortable with it, I can cancel.

I'm not one for signing up that day. I wanted to take time to research it and she said that they have that program where, if you sign up that day, that if you're not happy, you get your immediate fee back as well, and so your money is not really gone once it's given to them, per se. So, that was the only reason I did that and she was able to waive one of the fees that they normally charge because I am disabled, and they do things for people who are veterans, disabled or first responders. I was just googling and when the rep called me, she went through everything and I ended up deciding to upgrade to one with more coverage because the price difference wasn’t that much. I had a 2012 Chevy Cruze covered and because it’s a much older car, I was concerned that it was going to be a higher price, and it wasn't. And she gave me the option to add my fiancé's truck as well.

I researched Endurance online, and then I called them. It was a little complicated. I bought four cars and they came with extended warranties through CarMax or Carvana. When I called Endurance, I was just calling to get a competitive option to learn a little bit more about this process. And while talking to Chris, the Endurance representative, he shared with me some of the differences to look for in these extended warranty contracts. I learned quite a bit in that conversation. He took quite a bit of time to talk to me, which I appreciated because I didn't know that much about them. I learned that warranties have special clauses and in the contract, one of the things to keep an eye out for is the reimbursable rate for labor. Some of the contracts I saw through Carvana or CarMax paid $100 an hour. Mechanics in my area will not work for that rate, which would limit the mechanics who would be willing to work on my car.

I wanted the extended warranty to cover diagnostics. And not only the bumper-to-bumper but also the PLCs and computer systems, since everything is so electronically driven now. I wanted to make sure I was getting coverage for that, and that was very important to me. As I learned more about it, I learned that the Endurance plan was along the lines of what I was hoping to keep, so I bought the same plan for each of my four new cars. There is a 30-day standby period from the time that you get the contract to the time that you can utilize it, which makes sense to me. They're not coming out to do an inspection of my car before I get them. So, the idea that I'm going to take a car that has a broken transmission and use the extended warranty to get it fixed would be unreasonable.

I was impressed with the patience of the rep because I asked a lot of questions. I have a skeptical mind, so I may read more into his comments than he intended. And so, I'm always thinking that when they're talking, they're just skirting along the lines of the exceptions. I would stop him and ask some questions, and he was very patient and understanding. He clarified all of my concerns. He was very personable and answered my questions. Endurance was a little bit more expensive than some of the other alternatives, but it’s superior to the alternative. So, it should cost a little bit more.

Before I got the vehicle that I have now, I purchased a 2020 Land Range Rover and I thought this car was gonna drive forever. I had it for one year, and then the engine light came on. I took it to the shop, and they said my engine was shot. I still owed $30,000 on the vehicle and it was all stuck on me. I didn’t have any warranty because I bought the car as is. I had to make up that money to get rid of the car, and pay for it at the same time. I lost a lot of money with that. So, if I were gonna get another vehicle and if I had to buy as is because it was used, I would never do that again without having a warranty. So, I started looking. Endurance just kept popping up as a commercial, which was why I chose them. The rep gave me a lot of information and left me his personal phone number.

My vehicle was shaking right as I was driving and I took it in. I told the car dealership that I had Endurance. And Endurance communicated directly with them. I was later told that three of the parts had arrived, but they were still waiting on two more. I did not understand why it was taking so long for Endurance to send that part. I contacted Endurance myself and they explained that the part itself was still in warranty under the vehicle. The dealership wound up getting the part. At first, they thought Endurance was covering it, but Endurance said no, because two of the parts were still under the vehicle’s original warranty. Then the dealership had to make that call and wait for the parts to come in and be sent to the auto shop. Endurance was great and they did a good job on my vehicle. I got it back, though it took a little longer.

If you will get a warranty on your car, Endurance would be the place I would recommend for you to come because their customer service representatives are so kind, sweet and humble. They explain stuff to your understanding. And if you don't understand, you can ask them multiple times and they will keep saying the same thing over.

Endurance's rep so polite and patient as I asked my questions. He broke it down so I could understand what I was paying for and not cut me off the phone. He told me that depending on how long it may take for a repair, I will be able to get a rental car. He said, “I we're gonna keep your car for 7 to 10 days, we're gonna get you a rental car for 7 to 10 days. If you take your car and they find something else wrong with it, and they can fix it, you're only paying your deductible one time, minus having to pay the deductible again when it's already at the shop.” He broke it down to know what my coverage covered, explained that my deductible was only $100 and I only had to pay that one time as long as my car was in the shop. For instance, if they could fix both my motor and transmission at the same time, I would only have to pay that $100 one time, versus paying it twice.

When I set up the payments, I didn't have the money in my account. He asked me when I would be able to make my payment. I told him. The date that I gave him is the date that he put in the system for my payment to come out, which worked fine for me. And he broke the payment down. He told me about the installment fee, which was $35. He said that first payment that I had to make was it was 180, which I made on the 10th of last month. He told me that my payments would come out on the 10th of each month for 160. He told me that the program would go in effect at a certain amount of miles, or the 30 days, whichever one came first. He also told me four years, but I will only pay for 17 months.

      Reviewed March 26, 2026

I had a minivan and when the transmission went out, I didn’t have an extended warranty. That would have been my third repossession in my life and that was devastating. My boyfriend purchased the car but it did not come with an extended warranty. I did some research on extended warranties, and Endurance was the favorite based on the information that I found online, so I signed up with them. The signup process was simple. The representative was capable, prompt in answering my questions, and guided me through everything.

Within 31 days after signing up, the car broke down while I was driving it. I was 20 minutes from home but it was signaling a catastrophic engine failure. I called, and Endurance arranged roadside service and had the car towed to the nearest repair facility. The shop couldn’t handle the repair because it was a hybrid, so I called back and they helped arrange a second tow to a Ford dealership about 20 minutes away. The dealership was great in communicating the full cost of the repair and what the warranty covered, and the repair was completed.

One issue I had, though not necessarily specific to Endurance, was with the repair approach. If you open up an engine and it’s a four-cylinder, there are four separate compartments. Two had failed, and only those were replaced. The other two weren’t, so the same problem happened again later with the remaining compartments. Also, I would like the option of using quality parts on the vehicle rather than the cheap parts. The warranty would not cover the more expensive part and it was not a matter of my paying the difference. That was a little frustrating. If I'm driving a Ford, I should be able to get Ford parts. It shouldn't be an issue. But we have not had any problems with the car since the second repair.

I like that Endurance is not like traditional insurance, where you keep paying and you may never have a claim. You pay for a period of time and the contract is agreed upon. It goes by mileage or time, whichever comes first. And once you've paid that premium, you don't get billed anymore, which means that you've paid for your warranty up to that mileage point or that date in full. I can't consider another situation that has been more honest and more transparent with me, because I forgot that that was even discussed five years ago. My boyfriend told me we haven’t made a payment to Endurance in a long time and we weren’t sure if I was still covered. So, I looked it up and I was a little confused. I called and I got an answer very quickly that it was already paid in full. Endurance is legitimate and has saved us thousands of dollars.

I canceled my policy with Endurance Warranty Services and was told that I would receive a refund. Six months later, I received a letter stating that my policy had been canceled, but that I would not be receiving any refund. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. I spent thousands of dollars with this company and never even used the warranty for any vehicle repairs. It was very easy for them to take my money every month, but when it came time to honor what I was told regarding a refund, the experience was completely different.

The representative did not clearly explain the cancellation terms to me, and I feel misled. As a hardworking person who trusted this company, I expected better customer service and transparency. Instead, I am left feeling used and taken advantage of. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Endurance Warranty Services to others. This situation has caused a great deal of anger and frustration, and I hope the company takes steps to improve how they communicate with and treat their customers.

ENDURANCE denied my car repair because I couldn't PROVE what oil Take 5 put in there, even though it's been running fine for 50,000 miles... They will do EVERYTHING in their power to NOT be by your side and pay your repairs LIKE THEY SWEAR IN THE COMMERCIALS!!! Even though you pay every month for 3 years which I did...

I ended up getting my car broke down after I paid in full... And got screwed, DONT!!! I like to say those commercials they put out about covering the warranty on your car is all false. They do not cover 100% warranty on your car. They do not. I have the warranty and it will not fix my AC in my car. It said that warranty does not cover that part so they are lying to you guys. I am looking around to see if I find another Insurance Company that will cover extent warranties. They will lie to you telling you something and won't fix the problem. I'm not happy with them at all. Soon as I find another extended warranty I will be leaving this company.
