Bay Alarm Medical has the best coverage for the best rate. My grandma is okay by herself, but we wanted be sure that if anything happens anywhere, she has a necklace and there's also standalone buttons on the counter in case her necklace isn't working for some reason. So, I feel so much better knowing that she has it. And she loves it. It's even given her a sense of independence.

Having Bay Alarm Medical system has helped my mom relax a little bit, and it’s been good. She lives alone and the system is spread out so she's got easy access near the ground, on places where potential falls might happen, in bathrooms and bottom of the stairs. It gives her a better sense of security knowing that if she did fall, she can just press a button. And then the watch that she wears only when she leaves the house, she's already set it off once by accident and they quickly responded.

My mom has Alzheimer's, so my dad needed something in case anything happened to him, and it’s good to know that he has a Bay Alarm Medical alert. He wears it all day until he goes to bed. They’ve responded to him quickly when he's had to test it, so that makes me feel good too. Signing up was easy and we were very pleased with the process.

I'm very pleased with Bay Alarm Medical. It’s doing its job and they're very responsive. First, my wife had congestive heart failure and was subject to serious problems very quickly and we wanted her to have the ability to access it if it's needed. She passed away. Since then, my situation has deteriorated and I now have a problem with stability and equilibrium and I'm worried about falling, so I have continued the service.

I live with my wife. We're both 82 years old and she has dementia, so if something happened to me, she wouldn't be able to do anything because she's in a wheelchair. The Bay Alarm Medical alert is there to protect us both. I just get up in the morning and put it around my neck. I'm comfortable and I have no problem with it.

My husband had fallen twice, so we needed to have something if I was out of the house. Our daughter checked out various ones online, and we looked over options and came to choose Bay Alarm. It's a little pricey, but for what we get, it’s all right. We feel confident that he’s taken care of. Now it’s easier to go out and do grocery shopping when I have to leave him by himself. We enjoy the service.
The team has been very kind and patient when it goes off. They always check on us if we’re fine. We had a false alarm when my husband just bent over. I was at church and had my phone on silent. They had to call our daughter, but she couldn’t get here immediately, so they called the rescue squad. Fortunately, I had left the back door open, so they were able to check in on him. When I got home, he wasn't happy that the rescue squad had surprised him. Other than that, it was fine. I'm pleased that the service has been what I expected it to be.

Bay Alarm was more affordable and I could return it if I didn't like it. Several years back, I had a Life Alert and I was stuck in a contract for two years and $99 a month. I also wanted to have something just in case, God forbid, I would have a heart attack or a stroke or something like that, which runs in my family. I have my cell phone for activities outside, but I'm mostly concerned about at night. I also have an Apple Watch, but I don't know that it's very effective. It has fall detection and it gives you an option to call, but if I were to fall and get knocked out, I'm not gonna be able to do it. That's why I liked Bay Alarm, because if that were to happen, then they'd call for me.
But I have a number of problems with it. When you wear it on that cord around your neck and you bend over, it kind of sets off a false alarm of a fall. At 3:00 in the morning it happened, when I bent over to pick something up on the floor when I was coming back from the bathroom. I didn't realize that it set off the alarm and I had the paramedics banging on my door at 3:30. It was good that they responded, but the problem was, I went back to sleep, so I didn't know that the alarm was alerted. So that's problem number one.
The other problem is the flashing lights all the time. I can't go out in public wearing this thing 'cause I've got lights flashing from under my clothes. I wore it somewhere and I couldn't figure out what people were staring at, and I looked down at this blue light flashing. It'd be nice if they would fix that light thing. It really makes it miserable to wear in public.
I could've learned to work around the accidental alarm going off because I did have a clasp that went on my belt and that doesn't set off a false alarm, but the problem with that is still the lights. Also, that broke. The plastic arm that clips it in just broke and shattered. That design needs to be upgraded.
I don't like the fact that I really can't wear it. That's the biggest problem. So, I just basically keep the thing charged by the side of my bed, and I just leave it there. Those things that I don't like about the lights and the broken belt loop and the way I have to wear it and the false fall alarms, that really got in the way of me being very happy with it. I like the security of having access to emergency services and I'm satisfied enough to keep it, but dissatisfied for long-term.

My father had a fall and broke his ribs, so we decided he needed a medical alert. We liked the features Bay Alarm had, and the price is reasonable for what we saw in the market. My father-in-law actually had used it in the past too. We haven’t used it yet but had tested it, and it was a positive experience. We had a good experience interacting with them.

I purchased the device for my mother who’s almost 91 years old and lives alone. She’s supposed to push it and hold it for three seconds to get a call asking if she’s okay. Sometimes, my siblings who are her emergency contacts would get calls even if my mother hadn’t pushed the button. They would check on our mother, and she would be fine. They would get calls at least once a week, and it's a false alarm. That’s the only issue we’ve had. We called the company for that when I had gone home for Thanksgiving. Hopefully, it’s reset and we’re not gonna have that issue anymore. Other than that, my family has no complaints.

I didn’t get it because of any particular problem, though I figured I could have a problem because I’m 80 and live by myself.
I don't really like the feeling of it around my neck in warm weather. It’s not bad in the winter when I’m wearing a turtleneck. I’ve never had to use it. I dropped it once, and I also pushed the button to test it, and they came on. It makes me feel secure. I’m glad I have it.

It was a great experience and was much better than I expected.
What we have is one small piece that you have to plug into the wall and it sits on a table. My father wears it either on the wrist or hanging on his neck. It's not intrusive in any way. It's very easy to install too. What was good about it is my father doesn't have internet. This one worked just by plugging in and connecting to his phone. Bay Alarm has given my dad some confidence and security. I would highly recommend it.

I live by myself, so whenever I fall, I wouldn’t have a way to reach anybody if I didn’t have a device that would notify my sister or the ambulance. So, I just did a Google search, and just read the different information about the various alarms and chose Bay Alarm.
I haven’t had any experience yet. The only thing is that sometimes, it just goes off and there isn’t a need to. So, I don’t know if there was just something that made it more sensitive, but I’ve never had to use it. But when they do call, they’re nice. So, it’s reassuring to know that there’s somebody there. And it’s giving me security. It lets me feel like if there was an issue, I wouldn’t be stranded.
And I don’t wear it all the time. I wear it usually when I’m going outside. It’s a little bulky, and I have thin wrists. So, I have to have it pretty tight. But that’s just part of it. I don’t think it could be any slimmer.

She didn’t fall, thank God. She went to pick something up and her knees collapsed. She didn’t have the strength to get up, so I had to dial 911 for assistance. That night, I scrolled through the Internet for alert necklaces. I was definitely purchasing one because I’m not there all the time. I came across Bay Alarm and I ordered it the next day. The customer service was fabulous. The device was sent to me quickly.
My mom’s still mobile and still drives. There’s a pendant that she just pushes to talk. There’s a regular button also. She wears the regular button inside the house while the pendant is charging. When she leaves, she puts the pendant on and it actually has a tracker so I can see where she’s at.
She’s pushed it a couple of times accidentally just leaning up against something. She actually called me one day and said, “There’s somebody talking.” I hear them go, “Eleanor, are you OK?” I said, “Mom, tell them you’re fine.”
We tested it this month. We just say, “This is just a test.” Everybody’s been helpful. I think Bay Alarm is a great company an I made a great choice.

I got the device for my mom after reading reviews on Reddit. I was looking for something reliable without a long-term contract, and Bay Alarm seemed to fit the bill. It was very easy to set up. I did it from my bed and then it was delivered almost immediately.
The device comes as a small medallion that my mom wears as a necklace most of the time because that’s what’s most convenient for her. You can also put it into a bracelet that looks like a watch or use a clip that looks like a pager. The medallion itself doesn’t have a speaker. You have to be near the charging port or speaker unit to talk to the person on the other end. That unit is too heavy for my mom to carry around, so we keep it in her room because that's where she's fallen multiple times. If she falls in another part of the house and she pushes the button, Bay Alarm will call. If they don't get her, then they'll go down the line of people that they're supposed to call if there's an emergency.
We haven’t had to use it, but I've tested it a couple of times. The last time I did, it took longer than I anticipated for someone to answer, and that was disappointing. It was less than four minutes, but when someone is on the floor, that’s a long time. They did answer and verify everything was okay.

Bay Alarm has been okay, but I had a few problems with it. I accidentally set it off and gave a couple of false alarms, but that is fairly common. At least, by having a false alarm, I knew that it works. The people were good. The first false alarm was not my fault. I started getting phone calls asking if I was all right, but the calls were coming from Contra Costa County, California, near their factory. The device, when it was being shipped, somehow went off. So, they thought I was having an emergency, and so it was this California EMTs calling me. Then I finally got it and set it up and stuff.
One time I was wearing it around my belt and I was cooking, and I leaned against the counter and that pushed the button and it went off. And there was one other time it happened. So, there have been a few false alarms. But each time, somebody called me quickly and asked me if I was okay.
In general, when I call them, they answer and tell me what I needed to know. But, there was one time, for some reason, I could not get through customer service. And one of the things I did after I got the device was I decided I wanted one of those lockboxes. So, I called them and I did what I had to do, paid $30, and got a lockbox installed. They were good about that and everything was fast and efficient. So, in general, I’m impressed with the organization.
My wife died and she and I were together all the time keeping an eye on each other. But without her, I’m all by myself, so I thought it would be good to have the alarm thing in case of an emergency. Although I don’t wear it all the time partly because I don’t want to have another false alarm, but also because a lot of times, I’m with somebody or I have a telephone on me. So, I have some other way of communicating if I have any accident. But I have the two devices. So, the main device I have on a table by the telephone, but then there’s the little one that has a button on it, and I have that hanging inside the shower. If I should fall in the shower, I could push that little button. So, I am using it not as much as I thought I would be. I thought I would be carrying it all the time, but I don’t do that.
Overall, I’m happy with the service I’ve got. It costs $600 a year and I have some misgivings about it. It’s still worth the money, but I wouldn’t push it on other people. But if I were asked, I say it is good, and Bay Alarm has a good reputation -- I chose them because a website rated them as the best.

I just bought Bay Alarm yesterday for my mother, and I previously had purchased one for my mother-in-law. They're kind of ambivalent. They don't wanna fall and be left lying there, so they realize they have to do it. But they're not thrilled about having to wear it.
And I should say I'm just talking about my mother-in-law, because my mother didn't get hers yet. It's in the mail, I assume. But my mother-in-law, I think she wears bracelets, she's got that on. And now my sister-in-law is there with her, so she doesn't usually wear it at all.
If there's no one there, she definitely puts it on because she's afraid. But if someone is there, she definitely doesn't put it on.
I didn't set it up. My sister-in-law did, and she did it fine. She didn't have any trouble with it. And yesterday, when I called to order another one for my mother, it was very smooth. The woman had increased the price a little bit.
She said she’s gonna check with someone if she can give me the discounted price because I’m a previous customer. And she was able to do that, and so, they're very accommodating. I found them to be great.
My mother-in-law calls once a month. She does a check system with them. And I find them to be very helpful.
The price was reasonable. They have a reasonable program, like we pay a year in advance, and then you get a month free. And then also, if something unforeseen happens that you need to cancel before the year, you get back what's left in the year that you've paid.

After reading ads for Bay Alarm and talking to a sales rep, I was interested and signed up for it. My only disappointment was I have not been able to connect with her after I got the system. I had questions afterwards, and there’s no response back from her. My interactions with other reps from the company have been pretty positive. I’ve called and wanted to change my bill date. I’ve accidentally pressed my alarm, and I’ve also had to go to the emergency. They’ve been very helpful to me.
I’ve been offered free systems and had considered going with others because they're cheaper. But I like the system and the fact that it has GPS. I’ve had a few falls, so I’m concerned about my fall risk. Having the alarm has given me confidence and made me comfortable to go out. It’s also made my family comfortable to leave me alone. We did the watch to start with but it came off easily. Pushing the little button through the hole doesn't seem to always work well because it was coming off so we just use the necklace instead. They recommend checking it every month and we just do it on our own. Then the person comes on in the base there and you can talk to them. It's worked well. I wasn’t the one who chose Bay Alarm. My sister, Amy, did. She went online, looked at different services like this, and she’s the one who decided on it. The device is for our father. It does give us peace of mind, if he remembers to wear it.
He’s supposed to press the button once a month to test it. I don’t think he’s been doing that. He accidentally pressed it about a month ago, and he was really embarrassed when the fire department showed up. But that’s exactly what they’re supposed to do.
On the positive side, the customer service is great and very responsive. He had a problem with his watch and they sent out a new one. They’ve been really good about that. On the negative side, and this may not be Bay Alarm’s fault, my dad happens to live in an area with poor signal. And lately, something has been popping up on his watch.
My sister was looking into the signal issue, and it really comes down to where my dad lives. He doesn’t have Wi Fi, so nothing is helping the situation out. It’s all running strictly on phone or cellular data, however Bay Alarm handles that, and that’s where the concern comes in. We’re not always sure it’s working the whole time, and there may be dead spots inside his home where it doesn’t work at all.

My mother had a medical condition, and we wanted a fall alert and monitoring system. We did some research online and chose Bay Alarm.
When we go into test mode, it’s very haphazard and inconsistent. We were told we’d receive certain calls during testing, but the procedure is clunky. In fact, during a test, the police and EMTs actually responded because there was no proper notification, it’s a bit messy with central headquarters.
Her fall alarm is the necklace, which she wears about 75% of the time she’s awake. Let’s say from 8 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. The wrist alarm she keeps in the bathroom for middle-of-the-night use since she can’t sleep with the necklace on. Those are the two alarms she’s using. Obviously, the home base.
Usually we’re there for the tests. Some people are really good and helpful, while others may not follow procedure or explain it well. The test process could be improved, maybe with a 5-minute pause that says, “We’re going to test everything.” Since we have the base monitor, the necklace, the pendant, and the wrist or fixed alarm, we want to test all three and make sure the signals are coming through properly. Right now, it seems like every time we do a test, we get a different attendant at central headquarters. Some are really good, but some are clunkers.
I’m happy with it, but some improvements could be made so the police and EMTs aren’t involved during tests. She does hit it accidentally, and dispatch understands that completely. Sometimes she can’t reach the phone or the monitor, or she doesn’t hear it, and they call her cellphone or follow the usual procedure.
Hi Kevin , Thank you for sharing your feedback and for choosing Bay Alarm Medical for your mother’s safety. We’re glad the system provides peace of mind, but we apologize for the inconsistencies with the test procedures and any confusion caused by visits from police or EMTs. We’ve reviewed the issues you experienced and would like to have a customer service agent reach out to address them. It's just another safety feature that we have because she is elderly, it just gives us peace of mind.

Bay Alarm was really high rated. So we contacted them, and most of the process was handled over the phone, with some documents emailed back and forth. I got a bracelet, which makes me feel much more secure.
We test the device once a month. I pushed the button, they came over to ask if I needed help and the speaker in the bracelet lets us communicate directly. When the battery is low, my husband gets an email, and we simply place the bracelet on the charger at home.

We did some research online and Bay Alarm Medical was highly rated. The price was great, too. It's probably one of the best deals out there. It was purchased for my 86-year-old mother. She's had a couple of incidents. One time, she pushed the button accidentally. They couldn't get ahold of her. They sent out the paramedics and they were able to enter her house without having to break anything. They got a phone call for me and I was able to find her. That worked out perfectly.
However, there have been a couple of times when we haven't been satisfied with the service. It’s easy for her to accidentally trigger the alarm when she didn't intend to, which was the main thing. She also could not hear them talking to her to let them know that it was an accidental alarm. The one time my mom triggered the alarm, she was wearing her purse cross-body. I don't know if she had the alarm under her shirt, but the bottom line is, when they called, they contacted her through the alarm. She can talk into the alarm, but she cannot hear them. That's why the paramedics were called. They went to her house to check on her. If there's anything they could do to make the device a little more foolproof.

We like the responsiveness, but there is a large flaw in the set-up. The device goes onto a clip that is around your neck. Other devices just go around your neck. You can't charge the device unless you take it out of the clip. Unfortunately, my Aunt is elderly and can't figure this out. We are probably going to end up returning this and getting a device that plugs into the charger without needing to be taken out of a clip.
I’m so sorry to hear about the trouble with the device, and I completely understand how important it is to have something that's easy and convenient for your aunt to use. It must be frustrating to deal with the extra step of taking it out of the clip to charge. A way around this problem would be wearing on wrist in this way she will not have to remove from clip to charge, has she tried wearing as a wrist option?

However, I wondered why the suddenness of the fall did not activate it. I find the wrist strap way too big for my wrist. Now that it's cold and I'm wearing long sleeves, I can hide the alarm under one of the sleeves. When I wear short sleeves, in the summer, it will be loose enough that it could possibly fall off my wrist and it will, at least, be cumbersome, especially when I'm typing. I phoned and asked if there is a smaller size and was told there is not. That's too bad.

However, after only a couple of months, we moved her into assisted living, so I canceled the service.
During the time we used it, thankfully, we did not have to activate the alarm. My mom's only issue was with the necklace catching on her external port for dialysis, but aside from that, she didn't mind wearing it. She preferred not to have it on her wrist since she already wore a Fitbit.
Canceling the service was smooth; they were understanding about our decision and asked if I wanted to transfer the service to someone else, which I considered. Unfortunately, I didn’t return the call in time 'cause I only had a day to call back to cancel before our next billing cycle and ended up paying for an extra month.

I initially came across Bay Alarm after experiencing a heart attack when I was home alone. My sons were quite concerned and started looking for solutions to ensure help would be available should I need it. Bay Alarm seemed like a good fit as it allows me to push a button and communicate with help quickly.
I've found the system to be quite responsive. In fact, it responds a bit too quickly sometimes. While wearing it, I accidentally pressed the button without realizing it, and they almost dispatched paramedics to my location. This sensitivity makes me a bit hesitant to wear it all the time, although it is comforting to know they are so responsive.
I have tested the system a few times by intentionally pushing the button and was able to communicate easily. However, the accidental activation has led me to keep the device nearby rather than wearing it, as it can be triggered without my knowledge.
One strange aspect is the light indicator which blinks frequently when it's not in use, seemingly consuming battery life, requiring frequent charging. The Bay Alarm device is a great idea, and it seems to be of high quality. Because when I accidentally pushed the button, I wasn't even home. And they were able to find me and try to get help for me.

I signed up for this system in case my husband should fall when I am out of the house or in case he should have an emergency while away from the home. During testing of the system it will be important for me to shadow the test as my husband is hearing impaired. Now he could not understand the conversation coming from the watch during testing. It was not loud enough and the person has to speak slowly for comprehension. Surely this must be the case with other clients. At first we could not get the smart watch functioning. It would not charge. Kept working on it and finally got it going.
We have decided that even if he can't hear or understand the watch should he need help in an emergency, all he had to do was say he needed help. Okay, but when you all call to test the system, I need to be in attendance to be sure we are responding appropriately so as not to trigger a false response for emergency responders. Even the white box - the people have to speak slowly and clearly. Thank You.

It does have some false alarms because we have the upgraded automatic fall protection, but not too many and it's easy to cancel when it does happen. My only complaint is the battery life. It said it was typically good for about 3 days. It really only last just over 24 to 30 hours before it needs to be recharged. I got a wonderful response from Bay Alarm. I got follow-up calls and not the harassment type. Every couple of weeks, Rachel, the person I worked with, would check in with me. I'd tell her we're not quite ready or we're working through this or that. And she would say she would get back to me in a week or a couple of weeks. And that's exactly the way that it happened. I've had very good luck with Bay Alarm’s customer service. I got the medical alert for my father who is almost 104 and still living independently and right now, it’s sitting on the dining room table. He wears it when he thinks about it. So it's not functioning the way that it's supposed to. He knows he can wear it. It is just forgetting to put it on. Part of it is he doesn't care for the pendant because when he walks, he says it beats against his chest. We have not a stubborn person but someone very much of his own mind. So we just keep working with it.
Dad is still able to make his own decisions and he understands the consequences of not wearing it. What happens, happens. That may sound callous, but you can only do so much, short of someone being there and putting it on him every day and I'm not willing to go that route. I understand that there's danger but life isn't danger-free. So, wearing the medical alert or not wearing it isn't going to keep him from falling. It isn't going to keep him from injuring himself.
The only advantage to him wearing it is he has access immediately to help and that has always been my concern, that he's not just lying there for 24 hours. He wouldn't lie there that long because my brother lives across the street, is in and out of the house or calling him often, particularly on the days when my sister and I are not there. I would like for him to wear the medical alert all the time but I'm not gonna nag him about it so that we have hard feelings. I'll check with him and say that I noticed it has been on the dining room table the last few days that I've been here. I will ask him what the deal is and we'll have a conversation.

They couldn't just call a neighbor for me because that neighbor wasn't on the list and I didn't have the phone number. So I updated some other information that maybe next time they won't have to call the fire department. They can just call my neighbor to come and help me.
Other than that, the neck pendant works fine and I use that at night. But the other one that's like an elastic which you're supposed to wear on your wrist, I hooked it to my bra strap. It's not visible and yet I can get to it. It's not the most ideal situation but it works. I forget to test it sometimes, so I wish there was an automatic testing. I know they check it every Saturday but I don't know that they do it. So I don't know that it's still working. When I put it on in the morning, I would think of pushing that alarm to see if it's working. They called me one time when I had the power shut off for several hours which happened to be on a Saturday. They offer the same thing as some of the other bigger name brands and they're not as expensive as you see always advertised. But they offer the same service. And I've never had an issue. I've always been able to call them if any problems came up or something happened with her thing. They sent her a new thing that she wears around her neck. They sent her a new one when the battery went bad. They also notify me right away when something happens to some of the equipment. Their service has been really good. They raised the price to $4 a month. But other than that, it's fine.

We called Bay Alarm Medical and got some help getting things set up. I had a fall and thought I was calling. I didn't understand how to use the call button, but now I do. I feel more secure and my husband also feels more secure when I am alone. It charges quickly too. I have told people about Bay Alarm and that my experience was about what I expected. I have a good friend that has a similar device from a competitor and I encouraged Bay Alarm to contact her. I looked at the Apple watch but I wanted more of the alert services that Bay Alarm offers. However, its size is an issue, especially in winter, when you're wearing long-sleeved clothing. They don't fit over it very easily.
Hello Louise, I am so glad we were able to help you feel more secure with your equipment. It always feels good to hear customer are feeling protected that is our goal. If anything more is needed or I can help turn this into a 5 star experience please do not hesitate to call.

I have tested it on a regular basis as I was advised to do so, and it has been pressed accidentally a couple of times. When it went off automatically, I just pushed the button and someone answered immediately. I don't know if it was live or a recording, but they said, "No problem," and that they would cancel it. With the Bay Alarm device, I feel more comfortable when I am someplace alone, and I definitely feel more comfortable when I'm driving alone.

Sometimes, we'll be testing the Bay Alarm system and it takes a while before anyone responds. I’ve also got different responses from them recently. My mom's system kept going off for a while and she kept getting frustrated. I wasn't near her but I knew she was okay. I was out of town at the time and I asked them if they could put it on hold for two weeks until we could take care of everything. At first, they told me that it couldn't be done, so I was upset. Then I asked them something about talking to a manager and they told me that it could be done. They transferred me to someone else who told me that they could put it on vacation mode for two weeks. But it still kept going off and they kept calling.
Hi Lorrie, I want to start with an apology for the situation you and your mom experienced. Because of the type of service we provide usually placing account on hold is not allowed, looks like they may of had to get authorization to do this. I also would like to make sure everything is working properly. I sent my direct contact information over in a private chat please feel free to call so we can test unit and see what is causing her unit to go off.

The Bay Alarm device was very helpful to have, because at the last, my neighbor's heart was failing and so she'd get up and try to walk to the bathroom and slide to the floor. She would push the button, and she couldn't hear them so she couldn't tell them because the thing was in the living room and she was in her bedroom. I'm the closest neighbor and Bay Alarm would call me, and I'd get up and go lift her up. She was only 110 pounds, so most of the time, I could lift her up and we were all right. My neighbor was going to get one of the necklace alarms that they could talk to her on, and that would have been fine but she passed away before she could do that.
The alarm is wonderful to have. I was very grateful that my neighbor had it. I appreciated that she didn't just have to sit there. But sometimes, if they couldn't get ahold of me right away, they would call the ambulance because I’d have to get up and get dressed and walk down there. So a couple of times, we got surprised with the ambulance too, but that was okay. It was kind of testy at three o'clock in the morning, and I had to kind of wake up, but it's all right. I couldn't be there and here with my mother at the same time. So, it was very reassuring to have the device.

I've been very satisfied with Bay Alarm. They're a very professional operation and they have been very responsive whenever I have pushed the call button. I started out with two units -- the little fob that I hang around my neck and the home unit, but I had no need for the home unit so I returned that to them. Unfortunately, there was some confusion when they set up my original connection with them. Somehow, they got my partner's name as the principal name to the account so when I wanted to send that equipment back, they said she had to sign off on it. There was real confusion around that and it took a couple of telephone calls on my part to get it squared away. They put the account in my name, which is where it should have been all the time, and took her name off the account. They got it settled and they gave me credit for returning the equipment.
Also, I contact them when I wanna know what percentage of battery charge that I have on the fob and they're very responsive but it would be helpful for me if they send a reminder for the battery of my contact alarm unit. They send it to my email on my computer and I rarely go into my computer. I've told them several times it would be really lovely if they could send me a text on my mobile phone because I get those right away and I'd know when that battery is low. They indicated they would tell management about it but nothing has happened. But that's my only concern as far as the ongoing service. Other than that, the voice quality is excellent and hearing quality is excellent. No problems.

Bay Alarm does what they say they're gonna do. My family got the device for me as a Christmas present, and then I'm paying for it now. It's expensive. I didn't realize that the kids had paid that much and I'm paying for it now. My family think I need it. I don't think I do. So, I'm not really satisfied. When I wear this thing around my neck, it breaks into the skin. It seems like I've always got a sore spot on my neck where I can always have a little scratch mark. Also, the wrist button is the ugliest thing they could ever make. It could have been made so much better than it was. I don't wear it. I have it with me all the time, but I got it so that it won't go off.

I like Bay Alarm Medical. I don't like the cost, but they're very good. Their consumer line is good. When they call, they are polite. I set the alarm off multiple times accidentally, and they were always nice. "No problem at all. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you." They have a script that they read, but it's nice in how they deliver it. I don't feel like a jerk for setting it off multiple times. I used the fall feature for a while. I'm too active for it. It's very sensitive. But that's good for people who aren't as active or who stay in the house. But again, they were good at taking off that feature. I'm very pleased with them.

I've had a good experience with Bay Alarm. My wristband was getting a bit stretchy. At one point, the button for the alarm that I wear on my wrist fell out. I ordered a new wristband and they were able to walk me through how to put the button into the new wristband without setting off the alarm again. They inactivated the alarm while I did that and then turned it back on.
The wristband is pretty unobtrusive. I accidentally bumped the button on my wrist and caused the alarm to go off. Sometimes I'm more likely to hit the button if it's on top of my wrist as opposed to the undersurface of my wrist. So I've learned the circumstances in which I need to rotate it one way or the other. When I accidentally hit the alarm, the response time was within 20 seconds.

Beware, Bay Alarm does not allow for temporary suspensions. I'm going into the hospital and won't be back in my residence for about one month. No reason to pay for a service I can't use for that 30 day period. Right? Wrong. With Bay Alarm, you must cancel your subscription, return all equipment or pay $299 per device. That process takes a couple of weeks. Had I known this up front I would never have purchased this medical alert system.
Hi Thomas, I apologize for any misunderstanding. Due to the type of service we provide it is hard to suspend the service, but I would like to look at the account more with you. I called and left my direct contact information please give me a call when you can. I look forward to speaking with you.

I was glad I wasn't gasping for breath or hadn't just had a stroke. Recently, I woke up and because the device is on the second level of my bedside table, I noticed it was flashing red. I had no idea what that meant, but I was finally able to reach somebody who said it needed to be reset. Fortunately, I didn't need it during the time it was flashing red until it was reset.

We received the devices and started using them. We have not had a real emergency during the time that we've had them, but we've had three false alarms just getting used to having the equipment and the button getting in the way when we're doing something else. The people have been very kind, considerate and understanding that mistakes are made. It's not a perfect system for us as well. It would be better if we could speak through the device that we wear rather than having to get to the main box in case of a real need. The need to answer a phone or get to the main box will prove to be a handicap. Besides that, we're satisfied and happy with Bay Alarm. Any time we've needed to be on the telephone with them, they've always been very helpful and courteous.
Hi Tabitha,
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We are glad to hear that everything is working well so far. As a reminder, if the dispatcher cannot hear you, they will try to contact you by phone to ensure it is not a false alarm. If they cannot establish communication, they will treat it as an emergency and follow protocol. However, if this becomes more bothersome and doesn't seem to work for your needs, please know we do have other product options. We're happy to help - Thank you!

My father just had a knee surgery, so I wanted to have something to help keep an eye on things 'cause he's alone. We signed up with Bay Alarm. I signed off on it and they put in my name since I wanted to have access to it. We were trying out stuff and we wound up getting a lot of the equipment, more than we thought we'd need just to try to test things out during the trial period. There's a bit of struggle in trying to return some things, but other than that, everything's been good.
Hi Elliot - We hope dad's recovery is going well and he is getting better from the infection. We know how stressful these situations can be so our team is here if you have any questions or concerns. It does look like our team was able to take care of the product you no longer needed and refunded that amount. Please let us know if you need any further assistance, we're happy to help! Please send our warmest wishes to dad for a speedy recovery!

I got Bay Alarm for my grandma. I have a necklace that's beside her couch. But the main thing is having them put up periodically throughout the house, one beside the bed and one in the bathroom. If she were to fall and didn't have any way to use the phone and she couldn't really remember numbers, she could just find the button on the wall and push it. So, I really like the big button emergency. It's been a good experience. It's been used twice. One by accident, and one time, she hit it. They were fast to respond. They were real nice and talked with my grandma. It gives me ease of comfort.
Hi George - Thank you for sharing your experience with setting Grandma up with our services. We are so glad to hear that she is covered in the high risk areas throughout the house and that our dispatchers are responding promptly. It's great to hear that you have some peace of mind knowing she won't be alone if anything were to happen. You're an awesome grandson for taking care of her and making sure she is safe! If you or Grandma need anything else, please do not hesitate to give us a call.

I'm happy with the Bay Alarm Medical. My friend is the one who has the alert and her complaints with it have more to do with cognitive decline and that they're not helping her because she forgets to take the button with her a couple of times since we've had the alert. They're always very professional, but they're friendly. When we call to do a test, there's no problem. My friend turned off the wrong light switch one time, so we had to reset. When we called them for instructions or help or information on another product, I found them to be very helpful.

Having Bay Alarm, I'm no longer worried about falling or injuring myself or having a sudden heart attack because I just press a button and I get help. However, I was not happy with the way they introduced me to the system. I had to call up and ask a lot of questions to learn how to use it. When you test the device, the first thing that comes on is a recording that says, "If this is not an emergency, press the button again for several seconds." Later, I found out that you're not supposed to do this. Even though they tell you to do this, they then later on tell you not to do that. This is ridiculous. I had to have one of their people explain to me about it.
Another complaint I have is that they don't make clear you get two devices and when it's best to use one or the other. One has a built-in speaker so you can wear it anywhere. The other one is for use around the house. When someone signs up, Bay Alarm should send a human being to their house to sit with them for 15 minutes and explain everything. But other than that, once I got settled in the system, I'm happy with it.

I was unimpressed with other medical alert device providers. I couldn't deal with them anymore. But Bay Alarm was polite and they didn't seem concerned that I was asking questions. That was good compared to other companies that simply wanted me to buy as opposed to explaining things to me. I wear their device around my neck and I've inadvertently pressed the button a couple of times. I got a phone call from them within a minute. Now, I wear it backwards so the bottom of the button faces my body. With the device, I'm slightly more confident walking around. I'm happy with the customer service.

I bought a system recently after a very bad seizure. I tested it and It took 5 minutes for an operator to answer. They reset the device remotely but that didn't help. The second test was again 5 minutes. I tried again later and the response time was 10 minutes. Their tech support said it was because my cell reception wasn't good enough. I use AT&T, the same company they use, and I always have good service. This leads me to believe that either the "poor cell service" reason was just an excuse for their staff's poor response time, or that the antenna built into the device is severely sub-par. Either way, 10 minutes is far too long in a real emergency. Local ambulance response is usually less than 5 minutes. Any delay risks brain damage or even death. They should take this issue seriously.

Fortunately, I did not lose the button but there is no way to connect it back to the necklace. It was cheaply made and defective. Very upsetting. My mother had a medical alert button around her neck for 10 years and it never broke. I am sure that I am not the only one this happened to. This cost $99. I will call them tomorrow and they better make it right. My button still works but what good is it if you can no longer attach it to a necklace? I purchases the mobile plus SOS package with caregiver tracking and fall detection for $39.95/month plus lockbox. The set up instructions were easy and initial tests were answered promptly, even in an area of a building where I didn't expect great cell service. To me, so far -- I've had it one month -- the best feature aside from the fundamentals, is that if the alarm button is accidentally pressed, there is no charge. Some companies have a charge if you surpass a certain number of "false alarms". The device is sensitive so it takes a little getting used to to find the best spot to wear, carry, or attach it. (I have a pacemaker so I opted for the belt clip). Everyone at the call center is friendly, efficient and polite.

My sister got my mother the wearable device that can connect her to the operator at the push of a button. My mother never wears device because she complains that it turns on by itself. I did not believe her until I wore the device around my neck: it sent an alert after 2 minutes I wore it and I was only sitting down talking to my mom; it has a motion sensor that supposedly activates the alarm automatically when it detects a fall; however sensor appears too sensitive and any sort of motion appears to set it off. My mother says that medical alarm unit is for bedridden living mummies who hardly move at all...
Hi Renzo -
Fall detection is best for those who are prone to blacking out, fainting, and are less active. If mom is still active, there is a better option for her and we would be happy to help make that change to her account. Fall detection is known to have a more sensitive device, because of who it's made for which is why we don't recommend it for everyone. It seems to be working fine, but not for your mom's needs. We will have a representative reach out and assist you with the necessary changes so mom can feel more protected without the intrusion of the false alarms.

On Dec 21st (Monday) I spoke with a saleswoman. I wanted to purchase the services for my cousin Carolyn **. She was in the hospital and coming out shortly. The sales woman assured me that the unit would ship that day or the next and it would be 3 to 5 days in transit. So I ordered the unit and service. No shipment that day or the next so I called and was told by customer support that the unit would ship on Tuesday or Wednesday. No shipment. On Thursday I called again and was told the unit would ship today. Today I received an email saying a tracking number was assigned but no record of the item in the postal system, just a record of the tracking number. The saleswoman said it was being shipped UPS. The shipment is actually being shipped via USPS.
USPS has been sending me notices nearly every day saying they are experiencing high levels of mail and much will be delayed. This was another lie when the saleswoman said it would be shipped by UPS. She lied to get the sale. I think you should find this sale and explain to her that sales people should not lie to customers. I am totally pissed off and may cancel this if not received by Dec 31st as promised by the customer support person.
