Wal-Mart Tries to Buff Its Image

I purchased three Visa cards from Wal-Mart for Christmas presents for my grandchildren. When my daughter called to activate the cards, she was told that she could only activate two of them - which she did. Then she was informed that could could NOT activate the third card but money would be refunded via check in 7 days. Now this caused great conflict between the three grandchildren.

I also had to pay 8.49(?) to the total of the amount of money that I was having put on the three cards. This is ridiculous and should not be allowed. I will NEVER puchase another one of these cards again. My grandchildren wanted to shop with the cards the very day they got them and one of them had to be given the money in order to be fair. This needs to be investigated and the charge should be stopped. I should have been told that I couldn't purchase the third card.

I purchased Christmas Cards on 12/9/08 for 7.00 dept 18. I'm guessing the number is 81002628-825 which is found on the back of the card. And the barcode is 73168 28791. Anyways, there are 24 holiday cards but only 18 envelopes.

There are not much damages other than. I obviously wont be able to send the rest out without any envelopes. I guess I will have to buy another box of Christmas cards which most likely cost me another 7.00 thanks to Wal-Mart.

In the past 6 months we have had some rotten luck with outdated stock at the superstore in Kokomo. We bought crackers from 2004 and instantpudding from 2003. Last week we started to buy cottage cheese and I looked at the date and the front ones were a week out of date. I finally got some from way in the back and it was ok. but today we purchased 3 5lb bags of flour. They were not outdated but were full of bugs, and we ruined a dozen eggs making noodles. Thak you, but I like chicken with my noodles.

Why would [they] stop selling Prima Della brown sugar ham. It's bad enough the closest Super Walmart is almost a half an hour away. And when I get there [they] are out of a lot of things, but now I can't even get my brown sugar ham? And no, the other brand is not as good! I've put up with a lot from Walmart but I'm thinking that this is the last straw. I once was a very loyal shopper but I don't feel like [they] are being loyal to me. Walmart has gone down over the years.

On Saturday, November 22,2008 in the morning I went to Wal-mart to buy a Nintendo Wii. I asked if they had any Nintendo Wii in stock, as they were not out on the shelves (I wanted to purchase 2 for Xmas gifts). Marie in electronics went to check and came back and said she could not sell them to me, they were for the blitz the day after Thanksgiving. I went to customer service and complained they would not sell me one, he got the electronics manager on the phone and he said she never should have told me they had them but they were for the day after Thanksgiving ad and he said they were not logged into the computer so he would not sell me one.

I am currently trying to get in touch with the District Manager to file a formal complaint. Also, this was the second Wal-mart I went to, the first one the sales associate hesitated and then said no, they did not have any. I ended up going to Best Buy and spending over 600. They had no problem taking my money. My question: Is it legal for them to withhold merchandise like they did, or was I discriminated against? I drove 45 miles, expecting that if Wal-mart had one I could purchase one.

I was very upset that they would not sell me one when they clearly had them. My question now is how often do they do this and is it legal. I have a 45 minute drive to get there, I do not expect them to withhold merchandise from me. Needless to say I was very upset. I thought I was being the responsible consumer by beating the Christmas rush and buying early.
