Walgreens - Prices

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I'm outraged. I have located the item that I was interested in on Walgreens' site (Waterpik Ultra Waterflosser) for $47. But I wanted to get it right away, so I located the store that confirmed that they have the item in stock. When I got to the store (97th Street and Broadway, NYC), two sales people tried to help me to locate the item with no avail. Finally, Ms. **, the store manager, pulled it from under the counter. I was happy to have the item in my hands, but decided to check the price. I did have the web page from the Walgreens' website on my Blackberry, clearly stating that the price was reduced from $59.99 to $46.99. Ms. ** refused to sell the item to me at the advertised price. She insisted that the price in the store was $64.99, which is even higher than the MSRP of $59.99. This is absolutely ridiculous! I'm outraged by Walgreens' blatant attempt to overcharge! They don't even comply with their pricing within the company. It would cost me an $18 charge for the pleasure of visiting Walgreens' physical store!

I dropped off prescription for generic drug Clonazepam for my wife then picked it up a few hours later. They charged $53.99 because Medicare doesn't pay anything for that particular drug.

The last time I had it filled at the independent pharmacy, they charged $12 for the exact same prescription. When my wife had private insurance, the insurance paid .56 cents and the co-pay was $10.

My lesson? Don't patronize Walgreen.

This will sound petty, but I had a Walgreens register coupon for a dollar off......only stipulations I read was item must be more than the value of the coupon. I bought an Aussis hairspray....gave her a manufactures coupon for a dollar of the the store coupon........she would not accept it. They do this at CVS,Rite Aid, the grocery stores.

Makes me want to NEVER shop at Walgreens again. I should be able to use the store coupon and the one I got in the newspaper if I can do it elsewhere. Coupons are a big thing right now....there is a show on TV where people are using multiple coupons.......I have seen the coupon queens in that store hoarding all the sale stuff in their buggys and using more than one coupon.....WHY CAN'T I?????????

Three different times. they advertized Maxwell House instant coffee on sale. Three different times I tried to buy it. They never have it. Monday was the last try. I will not shop at Walgreens again.

on 6/5/2011 i went to this store to purchased the gillette products they had advertised in their weekly ad buy 30 dollars of gillette products get 10 dollars in register rewards and buy gillette pro fusion razor get 5 dollars register rewards i purchased 4 body wash and 1 razor i used 2 coupons for body wash (buy 1 get ) and 1 coupon for razor it only printed 5 dollar rr.

they told me gillette wouldnt let them print the 10 dollar rr because they claim their rrs are manufacter coupons but yet u can purchased other items other than the product they claim is a manufacter coupon (rr) they did not advertised buy 30 dollars of gillette products get 10 rr if u dont have coupons to help u pay i would never go back to walgreens and their rrs is a big joke

I was trying to purchase some Haagan Daz Ice cream on 9/17/08 in the Daly City Walgreens. Because I work in San Francisco, and I am a regular customer of all Walgreens, I have brought with me the San Francisco Walgreens Ad that shows that the Haagen Daz Ice cream is on sale at 2/$6.00. They refused to give me the price of 2/$6 in which I have showed them

The Manger Michael refused to do a price modification as he said that it is the State Law that Dairy Products are not eligible for price adjustment even if the other walgreens have teh product on Sale. He was very rude and have kept walking away when I said that other Walgreens honor other sale items from different stores as long as the Ad is presented at the time of the purchase.

Can you please tell me where I can find the State Law stating that Dairy Products are State REGULATED? I have a problem understanding that as it does not seem to make any sense to me. Also with the economy right now, I think that instead of turning away customers, they should have the flexibility to entertain the Sale Ads of any Walgreens branch. I find it very disturbing that they could have made some Sales instead of losing sales just because of a simple math. I will also call FCC and will file a complaint.

My wife has ADVAIR prescribed for an asthmatic problem. We just refilled this for 50 doses. The cost was $217.99. After reading the yearly profit statement for SGK I have to consider this pricing to be another corporate ripoff to the consumer. Why aren't these drug prices controlled?? This reeks of political pressure to stay away from their structure and soak the public so all their executives are able to retire with their millions. Being retired from a large corporation I can look back now and realize how all the pressure is put on to maximize these profits.

I have a fear these exorbitant rates will max out my insurance benefits. Thank God I have some coverage and can get by for now. When I have to pay this out of pocket we will have to do without.

The Walgreens in Madeira Beach FL charged me $364.89 for a prescription. The exact same prescription cost at my local independant pharmacy in Santa Cruz County, California is $254.25. A very considerable difference of $110.64!

We are in Florida to help a friend who has cancer and we are on a tight retirement budget. This escalated cost really hurts!
