CVS Rx Errors - Wrong Identity

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I turned in one prescription and my husband picked up 3. Two of them were the same name but wrong date of birth and wrong address. I had a baby two weeks prior and had to stop breastfeeding.

I have had automatic refill through this location for at least two years. Suddenly, they can't find my prescriptions anywhere. At first, I thought it was just an accident, but now it is happening every month. I am having the same problem with the new pharmacists. It's getting worse when the pharmacists fight in front of customers over whose turn it is to man the counter. I am very disappointed. I am not sure but I think my blood pressure medicines and my cholesterol medicines should be taken every day, not whenever the pharmacist gets around to doing his or her job.

CVS is stating that my prescription that I turned in to them on December 2, 2010 is missing. It was a prescription for Percocet 15 mg. I believe that an employee has taken the prescription. They may not fill it now because of the complaints I have raised, but it has disappeared. They have been unwilling to help in any way at all. I know that there are cameras and that they should be able to easily see who took possession of the prescription, but have failed to do anything. I am in severe pain and will be without my medication until at least January 5th, 2011 when my physician returns from vacation. I have had to cancel vacation plans of my own as I certainly cannot go on vacation suffering like I am.

This is the worst experience that I ever have had with a pharmacy, and I just found out that not long ago the head pharmacist at that particular CVS was removed from the store in handcuffs. I assume some kind of prescription fraud. If I had been aware that this was the kind of business that they did, I would have certainly gone elsewhere.

I had a prescription filled at this store. It's RX ** on December 2, 2010, and presented my driver's license with the script from my doctor and waited in the store for it to be filled. After I arrived back at work, I noticed that my name, address, phone number, insurance company and date of birth were incorrect on the script receipt stapled to the bag. My last name is **, the name on the receipt is noted as Kim **. I called the store and the woman that answered told me that the medicine is correct, and that she would go ahead and move it to my profile.

I called in my daughter's medicine for a refill on Saturday and went to get on Tuesday. They said that someone on the day I called it in picked it up at 9:59 that night. When I asked them to check the sheet you have to sign for, they can't find it. So now someone has her medicine with the refill number and no co-pay and can call in refills. They were no help to me at all.

My husband went by the Dr's office & picked up 2 prescriptions - one for each child (Sam & Carly). Since the one for Sam is a controlled substance for ADD, it has to be picked up and not called in. He was to drop them off at CVS drivethru on the way home. Saturday 5-14-04 I am out running my errands for the day, stop by to pick up the prescriptions and they do not have them in the pickup basket. I told them I was pretty sure my husband had left it on Wednesday.

They checked the computer for Sam C and advised they had not filled anthing for him since April. Since his prescription is done each month for Concerta for ADD that would be correct. They had no record of filling them. I had to wait till my husband returned to verify that he did drop it off, which he confirmed he left it at the drive thru window. I called them and "somehow" they managed to find them, filled under the name SARAH C. Where does that come from? How can they fill a prescription and not be able to read the 2 different names printed on them?

The 2 prescriptions were clearly printed Carly on one and Sam on the other, but both were filled under "Sarah". Neither the "clerk" nor the pill counter seemed bothered by this "mistake" as they called it. And were rather rude when I expressed by aggrivation for having to make a second trip due to their mistake.

Picked up my prescriptions expecting something for knee swelling and was given another Deborah J's prescription for epileptic seizures. I took a dose of the medication because it didn't say anything on the label except take 1/day. Then I began reading the insert that came with it. The pharmacy acted like it was nothing and didn't apologize or anything. In fact they acted like I was at fault.

I spend $160 or more per month for medicine there and thought it was very strange to be treated the way that I was. I am 51 years old and that is the first time that I have ever been given someone else's prescription.

They just said bring the medicine back so we can give it to the right person when she comes in and when I took it back they acted like I was at fault. Very wierd.

I went in to have a prescription filled for a pain medicine for cystic ovarian pain. The medicine was Tylenol 3 with Codene. They filled the prescription with the correct medication dosage etc. But they put the wrong person's name, address & even doctor's name. They put the name Juan P (same last name as mine) on the prescription. When I notified them of this error they said oh - well he's related to you isn't he. "NO" I said, I have no idea who this is.

I said this is a very dangerous error to make as this is a narcotic medication. They said oh, well we had a floater in here - she must have mixed it up. That was the extent of the conversation. She was not shocked or suprised - or even apologetic! She sounded like this was a daily occurrence!
