Walmart Warranties

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I bought an Android phone at Walmart in Newburgh and I spent nearly 140 dollars on it. I was asked if I'd like to purchase insurance for an extra $30. I said, "Sure." The woman did not tell me I needed to use a credit card or that I'd have to keep my receipt. Needless to say, my phone broke but since I couldn't give them the exact date and time of purchase, I was ** out of luck, so no more Walmart ever for me or my friends!

I bought an iPod touch for my son, after my brother's friend stole it right from my parent's house and got talked into the replacement plan and how it includes accidental dropping. Well, I mailed it off like they said the very next morning. Now, their website says status complete and it is halfway there to them via UPS and still nothing on the replacement card.

I am giving them 2 more hours to get it on there or I am contacting my lawyer and my senator Jean Shaheen, in which her husband knows me very well. I am going to do everything to stop this from happening at least in NH. I am wondering if her lawyer husband wants to start a class action suit against them if these people decide to rip me off. I will also make sure we nail them for the way they sell and also the way it is writing on the paper but then, I get a total run around and different story when I filed a claim.

The saddest thing is I have still two other products with their warranty, but it is still in a grace period where I believe Wal-Mart will refund my money. I will take the crap up with the local store manager and also with the manager at Sam's Club in which I know the managers and inform them of this fraudulent company so they rid themselves of them. If they know what's good for them, they better refund my money soon and I don't threat, I promise!

When I tried to get my phone replaced after it was damaged, I went to Wal-Mart's mobile phone replacement plan website and type in my receipt info. Then I clicked next but it says my receipt does not exist. I checked the info over and over and I typed it all correctly.

I purchased an iPod Touch from Wal-Mart for my grandson on Christmas. I was also sold an extended warranty by the salesman. I was told the warranty covered anything that happened to the iPod including dropping the iPod in the commode. I asked what was covered and was again told everything. I asked due to the fact that my grandson had dropped a previous iPod in a commode by accident. This is why I made the purchase.

Well, the iPod was dropped and had the face damaged. We made a claim and were told the warranty did not cover it. I went back to Wal-Mart and was first told it was covered. I later was told the warranty did not cover the damage. I asked Wal-Mart to replace it as the salesman gave me the wrong information. They refused to make the warranty they sold good. This is no more than fraud, selling warranty that is not any good. If all Wal-Mart Stores are handling the warranty sales the same, it is not any good.

On November 20, 2011, I bought an Emerson 32-inch plasma TV. I have written to product assistance through Wal-Mart's website. You fill out a form to make a complaint. The website says it will respond in 24 hours. I submitted two complaints in April 2012, and I got no email response ever. My TV is under warranty still, even without a receipt. I'm waiting now for corporate headquarters to contact me on how to get reimbursed for the repairs I paid for you.

I bought a $398 replacement plan along with the TV I bought from Wal-Mart in July 2009, only because the clerk said it was hassle free and even came with a gift card that would be activated once/if a claim was filed and the TV was sent to the warranty depot through Wal-Mart. The pamphlet that was stapled to my receipt said "Product replacement" but on my receipt it says two-year service agreement. The clerk told me that, "For $30 bucks, you have a guarantee that that if the TV does malfunction or is accidentally damaged, I would just call the 800 # on pamphlet and print out the shipping label and drop the box off at UPS or whatever. Once the depot got the package, the gift card would be activated and I could go to any Wal-Mart store and use the card for a new TV or anything else I wanted if another TV wasn't something I wanted to buy again.

The warranty people from Wal-Mart said my plan was an 18-month service plan and not a replacement plan. That means they send out my TV for repair which takes up to a month to process and determine if a check will be mailed or if the TV will be repaired. My receipt says two-year product care plan and not 18 months. The problem is that I was misinformed and given info that was incorrect in order for Wal-Mart to get the extra $30 from me! That is illegal for sure and maybe a mistake, but either way, Wal-Mart did me wrong and should honor what I was told and sold, despite what is or isn't offered for particular products. I spoke to the 1800walmart customer service and they said they were sorry but after 15 days, Wal-Mart has nothing to do with it. They just your money and run. The good old American way, I guess. Thanks, Wal-Mart.

I got WalMart's automatic and standard 30-day coverage which came and went. Then too, there was the 1-year Emerson guarantee, which turned out to be only 90 days on the labor subsection and the full year only on the parts subsection. But in addition, I paid $10 each ($20) for an extra 2-year extension on the said Emerson guarantee. That was on 10/20/11. Then, some 5 months later and without any advance warning signals or provocation of any sort, the screen went dark.

Next day I reboxed it and hauled it and the manual, sales slip, guarantees, et al., back to WalMart where I learned from the pitiful girl there that it was not their responsibility but Emerson's. So I hauled it back home, got on the phone and called the number given on the manual cover. To shorten my story, after staying on hold for 17 minutes, the lady who I kept being reassured "valued" my telephone call finally answered her phone, got all my and my TV's data in full detail, and then forwarded me to a man for whom I had to jump all the very same hoops - Name, address, mod. no., serial no., date of purchase, etc.

I couldn't tell if he was an American or not, but he had obviously had a 'bad hair day'. He then required me to fax to him my WalMart sales slip, saying that he would get back in touch with me. Two days later, no reply from him. So I telephoned the same number and jumped all the hoops two more times before arriving at Stephanie, who informed me that (a) my extended warranty hadn't kicked in yet, (b) the "Labor" subsection time had expired, and (c) that parts and shipping would be covered by them, the labor charge to me would be $70.

Statistically, they have learned that putting that gap into their guarantee program saves them and/or their insurance partner-in-crime oodles of money. With TV repair a long-lost local industry, I've a mind to call them back, claim that my initial contact was a false alarm, that the fault was in the wall socket, and then -- you guessed it -- come this 10/20/12, put in a new claim on the extended warranty.

My daughter dropped her iPod. It worked for a period of time but now the only thing that works is the voice control. It froze up otherwise. I called in because we paid for the warranty and was told they could not honor it and gave me a lame reason. I am going to file a suit for fraud! I have my own attorney. I will never shop WalMart again.

I purchased an HP desktop computer from Wal-Mart, and was offered a "2 year extended warranty for $49.00." I bought it. Called HP and was told it is not their warranty, but a Wal-mart warranty, not extended and certainly not a warranty. I read the fine-print of Wal-mart warranty;

1. Good for 2 years from "date of purchase" (the HP computer comes with 1 year warranty, so you are actually buying a 1 year Wal-Mart warrenty) so it is not "extended" and it is not an HP warranty.
2. The warranty offers "one year of McAfee antivirus software" but the computer comes with Norton antivirus software (redundant, useless warranty).

3. Warranty covers damage from electrical failures and power surges, again from date of purchase. It is not an extension of the HP warranty covering hardware, software and tech support. Again, redundant and misleading service/sales practice on the part of Wal-mart. I'm sure there are other misleading claims, but I'm not taking the time to read the fine print because I broke my magnifying glass.

I have written to New Product Care Plan (WalMart) PO BOX 1818 Sterling VA 20167 (as directed in the fine print of the warranty) requesting a refund. It's not even Wal-Mart... It's a contractor. I have not seen the refund yet. In my opinion these worthless "2 year extended warranties" being pushed by Wal-Mart sales people falls under the category of "Bait and Switch."

I bought a 32 in. Polaroid TV. After one year, the sound would not come on. I took the TV back and Wal-Mart said the warranty was over so I put the TV back in the box and it's been in there ever since.

I dropped a remote on my laptop screen and broke it. I called and told Wal-mart what happened, and they sent me a box and I shipped it back. Two weeks later, they called and told me the repair was complete and they're sending it back. Well, I got the same letter other people did, telling me that the damage isn't covered under my warranty, when accidental damage is covered!

I bought i-touch Apple iPod, and purchased the extended warranty for $20 (I bought two iPods and two warranty policies). If you file a claim, they will ask you to mail it to the company that looks at it, and fixes it ( if they determined it us repairable).

My son put the iPod in the waistband of his shorts when he was exercising, and humidity got into the iPod. It was determined that the iPod has water damage. It is not fixable, and it was not replaced. The information brochure says that the policy covers the following: breakdown/normal wear and tear, failure due to dust, heat humidity and failure manifested by power surges. I think humidity is the best listing for the problem I sent it in for. The person I spoke to said that it only pertains to laptops and cell phones. Nowhere can this information be found in the policy, nor did the person who sold the extended warranty informed be about it at the time of purchase.

What good is it to purchase this warranty if it does not cover the item you purchased it for? You need to be specific on the details of what is covered, and on what it is covered by. The same thing happened to the same iPod I am writing about within the first year. Apple had me send it to them, and they sent us another one; the one I sent was not repairable, so they sent a refurbished one. Does that tell you anything? Stop selling plans that you do not honor! This is ridiculous. I will never buy another electronic or any extended coverage plan from Wal-Mart again. Robin **

I bought an HP notebook computer from Walmart on February 2010. At the same time, I purchased the 2-year extended warranty that had accidental damage coverage on the warranty.

My computer stopped working and would not power up one day and I was very confused since it worked just fine a couple of hours before. I called the warranty people and they tried to help me over the phone, but it was determined that it needed repair so they sent me a box to send them my computer.

I sent it to them and did not hear anything from them. 3 weeks later, my computer comes back to me. I open the box and pull out my computer to find the repair notes stating they did not repair my computer due to liquid damage.

I called them 5 times and talked to 6 different people. I finally was able to talk to Eric, the supervisor of the warranty department for Walmart. I told him the issue and he told me that there was nothing he could do. I asked him how is it I send them my computer for a simple problem and they send it back missing a key and now has water damage.

I live in a very humid area so I bought the 2-year warranty that states it covers humidity. I told him that and he said but humidity is not liquid damage. I asked him what humidity was and he replied liquid. So I asked him how is it they can say I poured liquid on my computer. He said because it has liquid damage. I asked him how can you be sure humidity did not cause the liquid damage. He said they cannot, but that even though my warranty states it covers humidity, they were not going to repair it.

I then explained to him that my coverage also has accidental damage coverage. He told me I could not have that since I got my computer in February of 2010 and they did not start that until June 2010. I asked him then how is it that the pamphlet for accidental damage coverage was with my warranty booklet. He told me he did not know but that I could not have it, due to the fact that it was not available at that time.

I went in circles with this man for about 30 minutes about how the warranty covers humidity but they will not honor my warranty. He just kept telling me that I was not going to get my computer repaired since it had liquid damage and that even if it was from humidity, my warranty did not cover it. So I finally gave up arguing with him and told him goodbye and thanks for nothing, seeing as how they are refusing to honor my warranty.

I purchased a battery for my RV on 06-24-2010 at 6PM. On 06-25-2010, I installed the battery. This battery is a deep-cycle auxiliary battery. I paid $85.00, plus a $9.00 core. The mileage on the coach was 14, 984 at installation. A couple of days prior to Thanksgiving of 2010, I covered and put the RV into storage and hooked up my battery tender (which keeps the battery fully charged). I checked the motor home every month and let it run 30 to 45 minutes with no problems. Today, 06-26-2011, I took the motor home out of storage. The mileage now is 17,148. The battery will not take a charge. I called Walmart and talked to Dan, who said he was the manager of the Auto Department. He said my battery was out of warranty as of two days ago and would not do anything about it.

I think that this is unfair due to the fact that I only drove the motor home four months and 2,200 miles. The battery had a one year warranty that I was unaware of since other batteries that we have purchased there for our cars and lawn mower had a lot longer (up to nine years). The battery and the receipt doesn't show any type of warranty. So am I to assume? I am out $85.

I brought a computer charger from Wal-Mart. After six months, there was wire showing. When I called, I was referred from person to person. I was told I might need to mail in my charger. What am I to do about keeping my computer charge? Why buy a one year protection plan? I am considering filing small claims court. I will not be shopping at Wal-Mart again.

I purchase a warranty when I purchase the product. The product, which is a camera, has been in the repair shop 5 times and has not been able to be fixed. In my warranty, I have the lemon law clause and they refuse to honor it. I have spent gas money going out of my way, because they will not pay to pick up the product.

We bought a Philips 40-inch LCD HDTV Item#599704, Model: 40PFL3705D/F 609585186190 from Wal-Mart Store 3370 at 508 East 10th Street, Palmetto, Florida on Saturday night Feb 5th, 2011 in preparation to watch the Super Ball Game the next day. The sales agents in the electronics and TV dept were great and very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately after coming home and opening the TV Box, we found to our dismay that the chassis on the top front of the TV was split and we could see the screws thru the slit. We had paid $398 plus tax $25.87 for it (total 423.87). It was on sale.

So we went into the same Wal-Mart store to get the TV exchanged for another of the same model on Sunday morning about 9:30 am (2-6-2011). They did not have any more pieces of the same model TV. The lady at the customer service told us that we could get it exchanged at another Wal-Mart in the area and was kind enough to call up the Cortez Road Wal-Mart on the phone and told us that they did have a piece of the same model left.

So we right away went to the Wal-Mart on Cortez Road, Bradenton about 10:15 am and took the defective TV with us for exchange. The ladies at customer service and the manager at the Cortez Road Wal-Mart said that the same model TV in their Wal-Mart costs $498 and would exchange the TV only if we paid them an additional $100. We spoke to the manager Mr. David **, but he refused to exchange the TV and said that prices at different Wal-Mart's are different. He would match a price from a store like Target or K-Mart but not a nearby Wal-Mart.

What amazes and mortifies us is why the price difference between each Wal-Mart in Florida. We just moved to Florida from Rochester, NY for the winter. There we have noticed the prices to be the same at all Wal-Mart's. Same goes for all Dept stores like Macy's, JCPennys, Sears, K-Marts and Targets. The sale prices advertised are the same in every Wal-Mart. Why the price difference in the Wal-Mart's in Florida? Is it a gimmick to loot and rip off the elderly of America? It shames me to bring to your attention that one Wal-Mart does not treat another Wal-Mart in the same area as a co-brother or sister outfit.

Each Wal-Mart is named as a Wal-Mart and not as a Wal-Mart belonging to Mr. X or Mr. Y or Mr. Z. On talking to the Wal-Mart managers, they are not even different franchises. Why the price difference and refusal to exchange an item for the same model item. I have exchanged things from Rochester Macys to Florida Macys without any problems. Why the indifference by one Wal-Mart to another Wal-Mart (supposed to be one unit) and we expect the customers to be considered as customers of Wal-Mart as a whole and not of different individual stores.

Could you shed some light on this and help us. The manager at the Cortez Road took the defective TV and refunded the $423.87 to our credit card but would not let us have a replacement exchange within a day of our original purchase. We are hoping for a favorable answer and explanation.

I purchased 42" HDTV in 2008. I purchased the extended warranty. The TV broke down on November 29, 2010. I got it repaired. I submitted all the necessary documents on December 13, 2010. I called on 20th of December. I got the runaround. I called again on the 20th of Dec. I was told the check would be cut on Dec. 21 and mailed in 7-10 business days, and I would have the check. I called again on Dec. 27th. I was told the check was mailed on 23rd, and I would have the check on January 3rd. I called on January 3rd after we did not get the check. I was told the check was mailed on the 23rd and it would be 10-15 business days. So, we would get the check on January 11th, 2011. I know mail is slow, but 10-15 business days? Come on. We've been trying to get reimbursed for a month and a half and have yet to receive the check. Next time, we will not pay the extra money for the extended warranty. It is all **. All we get is the runaround.

We purchased a PS3 and purchased an extended warranty with it for two years. During this time, we had moved and wasn't informed from Walmart that for the warranty, you had to have the box and receipt. Two years and eight months ago, we called to get assistance from your company and was told that it would cost $150.00 to send it in. We let it sit because we didn't feel that it was fair to spend this amount of money and no one to help with it. We have the box but do not have the receipt.

I have called Walmart and they say that they have no record of the warranty because they are too large. I understand this, but I am so upset and will never push or sell another Sony product. I work in retail and have always thought very highly of Sony, due to always getting the issues resolved with our customers in the retail business that I am in. Why should we have to pay another $150.00 to send it to you? We already have too much money invested in it.

There are other issues with the same things from what I can see. I hope that someone will take into consideration that we are the ones who keep you in business. And without customer satisfaction, where will your customers go? They will not come back to a company that is poor in the quality of customer service. I want to thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

We bought my weddings rings at the Anna, IL store in April 1 year ago. I love it. Well, about 2 months ago, I noticed a diamond missing, so we took it to Wal-mart where we purchased it. They sent it in and had it fixed. For one, they never called me. I had to go out there to see if it was in, and it was. Shawna, one of the workers, indicated the day they took it that there would be no charge. When I finally picked it up, they charged me! It was only $10.00, but still she told me twice that there was no charge.

I picked the ring up on Dec. 23, 2010, and today Dec. 30, I noticed the diamond is gone again. So I took it back again. Now today, I was told that it was a cheap ring, and it was not a good quality ring--nothing like telling me that my wedding ring that my husband picked out for me on my special day was cheap. This made me feel horrible! How would you feel? I'm not an emotional person, but that hurt. So here I sit with a ring that is missing a diamond, and I guess, it's cheap. I could have went anywhere and bought any ring, but we chose Wal-mart because we liked both of our rings.

I bought a 26-inch DVD combo in August 2008 and in February 2009. It went out and it wouldn't come on. I was mad and I went to WalMart. They told me I had to contact Polaroid. I called the 800 number and they said that I could get it fixed but would have to spend $100.00 for shipping this cheap TV. I contacted WalMart customer service and made a formal complaint against the store, they gave me the money to ship it, and I appreciated that. But now, today, this TV went out same way. It did before so it was never fixed. Anyone from Illinois, I need you to contact Lisa ****'s office. They handle consumer complaints because if we get enough people with the same issue we will be able to get something done.

I was watching TV and it went blank and there was no sound, and a smell of wire burning followed. Because I can't find my warranty receipt, Walmart won't fix it and said I can't use my paper where I charged TV and extended warranty. Walmart said it was in the system when I got TV warranty.

50" Magnavox Plasma TV 50MF231D. We have the same complaints as others before. We bought our TV in latter of 2007 and paid over $2100.00 for it (about $2300 with tax). Same concerns about a year and a half ago, it started with the cracking sounds. Then it would go to red light at power source. About 9 months ago, we would turn TV on and it would take about 3 minutes to get picture on, but it would turn on. Then it would take 10 minutes.

Approximately, 6 months ago we would have to go through plug in and plug out watching the power source light go from red to green to red, etc. about 10-15 times until it would eventually come on. This eventually stopped working, we have been without TV for about 2 months. We knew we were out of warranty and did not buy extended warranty, so we never did contact WalMart or Magnavox. We live in a small town, so we do not have skilled technicians.

When we ask no one seems to know what the problem is. Now as we are reading posts, it seems to be a very expensive power source part that eventually fails. All this time, we have been researching on the internet including the Magnavox website. Several sites give information for a price, and we are very uncomfortable buying since we are unsure of the outcome. Today, we finally got to this forum, and we are very disappointed to find that there are many in our same situation. We are posting our experience so that when a recall or upgrade or low cost solution or some type of reimbursement is available that someone will contact us.

In the meantime, we have a great looking TV that does not work. We are out of $2300.00 (it was more expensive because it had just been offered at Wal Mart). We have two teenagers, one going to college at the end of this year, the other next year. We are unable to replace or even repair at the approx. $650.00 for power source part.

In short, do not buy electronics, specifically the warranty on any electronic items from Wal-Mart. They will not honor their warranties, and will give you the run around to attempt to get the service. Buyers, beware! Go elsewhere for the product. A reduced price is not worth a faulty product, and the fact that they will sell you a warranty, which they don't intend to honor. Wal-Mart also has no desire, or intention to meet the terms of the warranty that they sold. I have purchased a product that does not work, and Wal-Mart will not honor their warranty.

Bought a 32 inch LCD DVD combo from Wal-Mart march of '08. Within six months, the DVD stopped working. After the warranty expired, Polaroid said they would replace it for around $75. Soon after, a black square would appear in the middle of the screen with numbers. That problem mysteriously stopped. Today, I was watching ESPN and blank no picture only sound. I called a local repair company and she gave me a $40 quote to check out the problem. She placed me on hold only to return saying it would be $145 just to check it out plus parts. No thanks. $680 down the drain. Polaroid is a piece of s**t. I will not buy any of their products ever!

No one at the store did anything wrong. I scraped enough money together to buy a Viore television for myself for Christmas last year after having watched a 13" TV for years. Now it takes 20-30 minutes to get a picture, although I do get the audio right away. I'm so very disappointed that my new television set is a piece of junk. I do not have the means to get it fixed or replaced, so now have no TV as I gave my little one to an elderly lady down the street.

I'd really appreciate having someone contact me about this and try to work something out. I've been a great Wal-Mart customer for many years and trust you a lot to take care of this for me. I'd strongly recommend that you not carry that brand any more.

I bought 2 televisions about 2 to 3 years ago, an Emerson and a Magnavox. Both went out. This is a shame for someone selling a crap and do not want to do anything about it.

My daughter purchased one Kodak Easyshare M380 camera for $149.88 and a 2 year extended service plan for this camera for $19.88 via internet at walmart.Com with order number: ** and paid with a discover credit card. (07/18/2009). The camera was broken by occasional use within the 2 year warranty limits. Walmart has refused to honor the warranty after several calls have been made since July 20, 2010 for a replacement or refund.

I bought a barbeque grill at Walmart and the manager told me that there was an extended warranty available if I pay extra. I told him no problem. But he told me that the extended warranty form is not available any longer after I had been delivered the grill. Now that I have the grill with the 3-year extended warranty, he said, "Too bad, friend, we do not carry this warranty anymore." And also he said that the first three months of service of the grill for repair and etc. were done at my home, which is false because I called up the company of the barbeque grill and that they are in North Carolina. This is unacceptable. I hope to get a reply soon! By the way, the barbeque grill was bought on 08/30/2010. The make was Uniflame Deerfield Model GBC983W-C.

My son bought a new iPad and a 1 year extended warranty and his iPad got accidentally run over and they won't do anything about it. So why buy a extended warranty? Not happy with wal-mart at all. I think extended warranty are a scam. Look like he's out of a $150. That a lot of lawns he mow.

I purchased a laptop computer in September of 2009 and the screen has a black spot in it and HP will not cover to fix it. The protection plan states it has not been a year and they will not cover it, and will not cover it when the HP warranty runs out. So I am stuck with a broken laptop that is not even a year old .They are telling me it can be fixed for $400.00 and I only pay $300.00 plus the extended warranty.

I bought a refrigerator in December 2009. It quit working in June 2010; it's six months old. They told me the guarantee was only for one month and that they would not give me any repair service or name of repair service. I had to repair it myself at half the original cost of the refrigerator! I lost all my food. I want a better product and service when I buy a big dollar item and more help from the store I bought it at!

The name and phone care correct. There are so many subcontractors that I am not sure of address. It is for Teleplan where I sent my computer. I purchased a computer April 26, 2009. Within six months, the keyboard buckled and keys fell off. By the end of one year, large black blotches appeared on the screen. I bought the Walmart two-year extended warranty. It said that it started when I registered the product. Walmart would not honor that and said I had to deal with the manufacturer. The manufacturer grilled me for 20 minutes to find reasons to blame it on me. Then I was told to find my own packing and pay the shipping to send it to the manufacturer. They would keep it six weeks, determine if it was my fault, see if I packed it correctly, then decide if they would repair it. I would then pay the return shipping.

When the screen malfunctioned, I contacted Walmart again. A year had passed so I was not turned away. I spoke to a repair person who suggested that since I admitted touching the screen. I had intentionally damaged the computer and it would not be covered. I placed my finger on the screen as if it were a navigator. I thought he was crazy since I am a 58-year old woman with arthritis in my hands. I couldn't imagine that the computer manual would not warn that the screen could break by being touched with one finger. He agreed to send a box and Walmart did pay shipping. As you might expect, nothing was covered. I was told that a crack was found inside the computer and I did it by touching the screen. Also, I abused the keyboard (why?). How did I make it buckle and warp? Since I called a few days after the Walmart warranty started, I have no computer and I am out the $99 for the warranty. The repair cost was approximately $300 (50% of my original cost not counting the warranty). I had the computer 12 months and it broke after six.

I am unable to get response from this company regarding a warranty on a DVD player purchased online from walmart.com.

On 9/30/2009, I purchased a 42-inch Vizio flat screen TV model Vl420, along with extended warranty. However, I was not able to have my TV setup along with the stand I purchased due to me being disabled, I needed assistance. On or about mid-February, I finally found someone to connect my TV and its stand together. After everything was connected and turned on the set, it had multiple lines going through the TV. I contacted Walmart and was told to bring back with the receipt. I wasn't able to do so right away due to being disabled and no transportation.

I then went to Walmart the ending of February. The customer service then redirected me to Vizio since my 90-day warranty has expired and they redirected me to Vizio. I called Vizio and spoke with an agent by the name of Evan, who then instructed me to take pics of the TV, send them in along with the serial number, date of purchased, store name and product number. after Evan reviewed the pics, he stated that the TV was in a damage condition when it left their warehouse and that Walmart should either replace or refund me for the TV. Evan also stated that it had to be damaged from a force that hit the screen, which damaged the screen from the inside.

I called back to Walmart and I tried to explain that the merchandise is still wrapped with all pieces that came in the box and I just wanted to exchange the TV oppose to a refund. I was then told that it was nothing that they can do. I never had a chance to enjoy my new toy that I treated myself to. I have a beautiful stand that I purchased just for the TV and brought extended warranty under the impression that I would be fully protected on my merchandise. Could you please help me? Thank you!

In mid-December 2009, I sent my daughter's laptop off to Walmart for warranty work. After some time, I had to follow up as I had heard nothing. When they finally called, they said the issue was a liquid spill. I had the laptop with me the entire day before it crashed and there was no liquid around. They refused to help me until I complained on this website. A few days after my initial complaint, I got the laptop returned to me with a letter saying that it had been repaired to full working condition. The only problem was that it had not.

To make matters worse, the repair facility had damaged the keys from the keypad and simply taped them to the top of the laptop. I called the warranty department back and had it sent to another location. I got another call from Walmart saying my claim was denied for physical abuse to the laptop. Unbelievable! It was the initial repairer who physically damaged it. I tried to speak with someone and it took three calls before someone called me back. "Doug" told me the claim was going to be honored. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he refused. "Doug" also refused any additional help.

We purchased an HP laptop for my daughter for Christmas 2008 and bought the 2-year warranty that they sell at the counter. The checkout clerk told my wife that it would cover everything. Just before Christmas 2009, the computer would not turn on. I had been using the computer in the morning, turned it off and went back to use it after lunch. It would not turn on. I contacted the number on the warranty and they tried to help me. After they could not, they set up a claim and mailed me a box to send them the laptop. I took it to a local computer store to see if it was a minor problem and he looked at the laptop, tried to start it and then encouraged me to use the warranty. I waited almost two weeks after mailing the laptop without hearing anything.

When I called for status, it was obvious that nothing had been done. I was told that they would expedite my claim. Two to three days later, I got a call saying the computer failed because of a liquid spill. I told them this was not possible as the laptop was in my possession when it failed and I hadn't had a drink with me. I then have spoken with the warranty people several times. They promised to send me my laptop back, they have not; they promised me they would email photos of the damage, they have not; and they promised me that they would have a manager call me from their corporate offices and they have not.

Purchased a video camera on 10-26-08. sales clerk suggested that I should buy Walmart's 2yr service plan because the flip-out viewing screens are known to break "if you just look at them". I then purchased the camera with a 2 yr service plan that the clerk told me would "cover free repairs or replacement on anything on the camera".

On 11-6-09 I noticed that that flip-out viewing screen on the camera was broken. I took the camera back to Walmart and was told by the manager "Sorry, we do not honor our service plan for the camera's viewing screen".

I bought a $300 camera from Walmart in June 2007. I spoke with an individual that helped me pick out the right camera for me and he seemed very helpful. He told me that I should purchase the Walmart "product care plan" because "it's great, you can drop it and they'll replace it." He told me all I had to do was to wait for the Cannon warantee to expire and then call. Well, this turned out to be false and there is nothing Walmart is doing to comply with this.
