My 12-year-old son was able to bid on Ebay without a credit card or a checking account number. When I inquired with Ebay on how he was able to do this they informed my that because I was an MSN user I did not need that information. When I called MSN they were very unhelpful and informed that they did not know that that was Ebay policy. I chatted online with an Ebay customer service representative and he would not give my a phone number to contact Ebay. I was told I was responsible for paying for these items. Ebay informed me that if you were an MSN user you did not need a credit card or a checking account to bid. How do I resolve this matter? Joe of Ringgold VA (2/24/05):
My problem is with Ebay's inactivity. They have continued to allow this man access to their information (names, addresses and phone numbers) even though he's got 36 outstanding offenses of this nature against him in Dade County Florida. It would seem that Ebay should have to enforce its own Terms of Usage rule when the evidence is so overwhelming that this person is not who he says he is! I have had to change my phone number (unlisted), get a new email account, and change all my information at Ebay to get him off my trail. Not to mention endure 1:30 am phone calls from him and filing a report with the police at 3 am! David of Evansville IN (12/4/04):
Car was listed as being driven to site where it had been sitting for 4 or so months. Inside were plastic soda pop bottles with April 1998 expiration, 1997 lottery tickets, and a 1997 tax return. Since the car had sat for so long, brakes, motor, wipers, blower, etc. are inoperable. Finally, no title or title paperwork was ever sent. |
