AOL Shop Direct

AOL Time Warner has been much in the news of late because of the precipitous decline of its stock price upon the discovery by Wall Street that the vast synergies promised by the merger of the snail and the titan had not come to pass. In fact, the astute analysts have overlooked one rather startling accomplishment: AOL Shop Direct has gone Amazon's one-click ordering one better. Its no-click ordering debits the bank accounts of unsuspecting consumers for items they didn't order. It then frequently fails to deliver the unwanted goods and dawdles around considering the victims' demands for a refund.

In fact, a class action suit has been filed charging that in numerous instances, AOL Shop Direct shipped merchandise without authorization.
