Bekins Van Lines

It's no secret that consumers are almost completely at the mercy of movers these days (see Movers Hold Consumers Hostage). So, hoping to avoid disaster, many consumers choose a well-known brand name mover, thinking they will be more reliable. As many Bekins movers have learned, this isn't always the case.

Many then go a step further and purchase premium insurance. Bekins calls theirs "For All It's Worth" and the implication is that the consumer's good are covered up to their full replacement value. Sadly, this is often not the case.

Tim of Wesley Chapel, FL February 2, 2006

I was transferred from Dallas to Tampa and I hired them to pack and move everything, even ship my 2005 F150. Jeff B did the usual salemen thing, lie. He underestimated my things which caused me to leave 113 boxes and my truck behind not knowing when I would get it. After many calls, I got a call on the following Monday, when i was already in FL. I had a guaranteed delivery date of everything on NOV 2nd.

After lies, and storage and not knowing where my irreplaceable items where that Steve W said he would ship on Nov 7th, we never got any calls back, totally ignored, Jeff the useless sales guy never even registered my overflow shipment, never updated my address which he got on Oct. 26th. After many calls to Corporate in Illinois, we got someone to somewhat help. We found out that the inconveinence fee for not delivering on time is ONLY if your overflow weighs over 5k lbs, another little oversight he forgot to mention.

I get my truck on NOV 7th, broken windshield scrapes and scratches. I called Bekins and they said my truck is covered by the transporter and i must contact them, there is nothing Bekins can do.

After much fighting over the phone several times a day trying to get my stuff, we got a call on NOV 18th from bekins in orlando, that they got out shipment somehow, Hmmm, Tampa, Orlando, I could see how they got the two mixed up. We get our things and then we find damaged items, turn them in to the insurance company, 3rd party and here we still wait for the check. What they don't tell you is that electronics are not covered unless they have visible damage.
