Nationwide Cancels 39,000 More Homeowner Policies

Stacy of Dallas TX (11/30/08)
my son who is working 2 jobs to help our family out as my husband has terminal cancer, was parked in target parking lot, as he was shopping one of nationwides clients took his big dodge dooley 350 and ran over the front end totaling my sons 1993 saturn that was in great condition. thanks to a good samaritan who chased the nationwide driver through the parkinglot at speeds of 70 mph got his licence plate number and called the police, the police contacted the nationwide driver and he admitted to it as it was all caught on the target security cameras, and also refused a drug test.

now heres the complaint, nationwide gave us a low estimate of 1100 dollars instead of kelly blue book at 2300 dollars, they do something called a 3rd party estimate the NADA! so now we will have to pay to help my son out as he has no money.i explained to nationwide our financial situation and how my son was working 2 jobs to help his sick father out with rent and bills and they didnt care, a take it or leave it situation.

it was a pain in the but to even get them to get my son a rental car to get to work, they waited a few days and the kept telling us that they had to meet with their client before they would get him a rental car, finally i told them this was bs and their client was hiding from them as his job is a proffesional truck driver and he knew he was in trouble as he refused a drug test. so i told them i am faxing the police report to them showing them that it was caught on video and it was booked in police evidence and it was caught on video. finally after a week they started to realize their customer was at fault. but 1100 dollars is not going to help us as he will not find a car for that price and it is not enough to fix it!

now i cant understand a company that is not taking everything into prospective such as we had put over 300 dollars into the vehicle, and my son missed 1 day of work, and for a few days he had to get rides and borrow cars to get to both jobs as they kept putting us off for a rental. now tomorrow they want an answer from us and we will be in the same situation with transportation because once we settle the rental car goes back...this company does not feel we have been inconvienced at all by their client! also its almost christmas!

I hit something on the road a few years ago. Last week, I got a bill from Nationwide for 740 because they claim they just noticed that after the accident they didnt charge me enough premium. I told them that it is their problem, not mine. They are threatening to sue me if I dont pay it.

we were coming down a main street when he had to slow down for traffic when we were rear-ended and push into pickup truck severe damage to front & back of 2002 Windstar. I was taken to the hospital for neck, right shoulder, & numbness in both hands.

They nationwide did not want to pay for the reduce value of vehicle, they pay for the damages of vechicle but it newer road the same again. Now I was suppose to start a new job but could not start job right away, when I did start, the damage done to me in the accident kept me from doing the physical aspects of job I end up losing the job and going back to school.

in the mean time I had ran up 16,000 in medical bills Nationwide does not want to pay, I still have physically diffilculties and case is still going

Peggy of Conroe, TX October 9, 2008

Peggy of Conroe TX (10/09/08)
My 16 year old daughter was killed in a single vehicle fatality. The 16 year old driver was 100% at fault with many violations. The insurance company contacted us immediately to settle the Wrongful Death Claim that they filed NOT us. They tried to contact us on numerous occassions and when we could finally talk to them I told them that we expected the payout to be only policy limits and then I expected them to leave the driver's family and our family alone. They refused to disclose policy limits and made us an unreasonable offer.

My daughter was killed 5 months ago and we have now been forced to hire an attorney to sue the driver's family. If this actually goes to trial the one survivor, who is also a child, will have to be deposed along with all of their friends who were in the other car and who witnessed the crash, along with the parents of the driver, along with us. What is Nationwide thinking to put us all through this pain and additional grief?

Nationwide is definitely not protecting their insured. We all pay 100% premiums for 100% policy limits insurance but apparently Nationwide thinks that we are to pay 100% for only a portion of the policy limits represented at the time of quote and payment. NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON ANYBODY'S SIDE IN THIS SITUATION. SHAME ON NATIONWIDE INSURANCE AND ALL OF THEIR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT. WHAT HAPPENED TO HUMAN COMPASSION? NO WONDER WE ARE IN SUCH A WORLD OF HURT.

Cost to Attorney 1/3 plus expenses, Cost to all involved Emotionally Priceless
