Over the past several years, numerous homeowners in my community have been experiencing water either within and/or outside their homes. This is a gated community consisting of 500 homes. I am guessing that approximately 30 or so homes may have had leaks at one point. My next door neighbor has a leak and two neighbors across the street from me have leaks at this time. I'm not sure how many others. On one occasion I had a water leak from a pipe in the wall that leads to my water heater. I called the company K. Hovnanian. This leak was fixed. Two weeks ago, I found another leak on the outside of my home. I found out I have another slab leak underneath my home. I called the company and they state that this is not their problem anymore and we should either pay for these leaks ourselves or call the water company.
This company is placing blame solely on the water stating that the water is corroding the pipes. My understanding is that the homes were built with under par level copper plumbing. I don't know much about plumbing, but these pipes that I can see still have duct tape attached to them. Please help us, we have a community meeting this Thursday, January 27th. If this is not resolved soon, I am going public with this info. Thanks.
You can't use water when needed. Water is turned off when sleeping and while at work. I'm not sure if there is mold growing under my home. I can't afford a plumber.
