Rebecca of Asheboro, NC July 16, 2009

I bought one of those Whirlpool Cylaspo washers and the warranty has just expired and I'm having trouble with the machine displaying error code ld. I talked with a repair man and he told me about the problems with this machine. I paid over 500 dollars for this machine and I expect it to last more than 2 years.

ruchir of Surat, India July 3, 2009

I had purchased Whirlpool Washing Machine - Sparkle on 2nd April'07. Company personal has come to demonstrate the product at my home, but they have not told us that out of 3 motors only 2 are running at that time. When my wife has specifically asked for the same company personal has told that the same is working like this only and it is normal. Today I have faced problem in using the machine, and I have called company personal now they are saying that motor is not working and I need to spend Rs.2200/- for repair of the same. There is very concern of the quality of service. They are saying expense of Rs. 2200/- (i.e. 27.50% of cost of machine) to be incurred in which is in just 2 years.

Matthew of Albuquerque, NM July 2, 2009

I have had over 12 repairmen out, paid over 500 for repairs, laundry mat fees, gas, time, and been without a washer, while waiting for parts for months at a time. Customer service has hung up on me twice and offers no help. The whirlpool duet washer I own is a piece of junk, the repair man just left and it sit once again dead while I wait for parts. Buyer beware Whirlpool duet washer sucks Take back your piece of junk I will nevef buy a whirlpool product ever again

Mary of Covington, VA June 18, 2009

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer plus a pedestal cabinet for each 10-14-2003. We have had continued problems with black mold on the inside of the door, large rubber gasket in door and the dispenser, which even with proper cleaning and bleaching the machine, stays on gasket and returns in the other areas. There is always a smell of mildew even though I keep my door and dispenser open.

When washing clothes, I do not feel my clothes are as clean as they should be even though I use the recommended amounts of detergent for this particular machine. This is a continuing problem which if I had known about this prior, I would not have purchased this machine. Continued smell of mold/mildew, effects our allergies/sinus problems/headaches. clothes not clean as should be, I have had to wash them longer for a better result.

Billie of Manito, IL June 16, 2009

We bought a new Whirlpool 50 gal. propane hot water heater about 3 1/2 yrs. ago from Lowe's. We have had trouble with it several times. We have already installed a conversion kit and a new thermo coupler. We are now having to replace the conversion kit AGAIN. The hot water heater's pilot will not stay lit, AGAIN. Whirlpool will not stand behind their product and replace it. They just keep offering us parts.

We are constantly having to deal with no hot water, we are constantly having to relight the pilot, we are always having to pay people to work on it and we are constantly having to take time off to meet with repair men. We are VERY upset about this situation! We will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again!

Lynn of Lyme, CT June 16, 2009

My front loading washer MOD #WFW9200sQ00 quit after 2 years. The rubber gasket inside self destructed, caved in on itself and took a few of my kid's shirts with it. We purchased this machine 5/2007 for around 1100 thinking that a major appliance would have a life of around 20 years (like our parents'). I was shocked to learn that warranty is only one year, and asked if I purchased extended warranty (I don't do this as a practice as I believe companies should stand by their products; these things are simply money makers). I did not have an extended warranty, but after the barrage of complaints I have read about these Whirlpool front loaders I am not sure it would have made a difference.

Contacting Whirlpool directly was a waste of time; they are like trained robots and can only think 10 seconds ahead of themselves. The woman I spoke with said she would "document" my utter disappointment, lack of faith and disgust with their company as well as the fact that I will never buy another Whirlpool again nor recommend it to family and friends (yeah, right, like they care).

George of Raleigh, NC June 10, 2009

I am a student and I bought a new whirlpool washer model #WTW5520SQO in Feb 2007. Since then the machine has had different malfunctions from loud vibrations to the house and grinding noise to leaving the clothes soaking wet. I called the different local service techs Certified by Whirlpool. They all came up with different diagnosis from getting a new base to replacing other kinds of parts; indeed a complex issue. They dismantled the washer on different occasions to no avail. All these took a period of about 1.5 years. Finally they said that they are not able to fix it as warranty has run out. Talk of buying time.

Ashley of Southaven, MS May 28, 2009

Bought whirpool about 3yrs ago it's now having a mildew smell in it around the seal. I have to leave my washer door open after ever wash to ensure that the problem doesn't get worse. Whirlpool Duet model. I went to the local appliance center where I bought the washing machine described to sales woman what the problem was she said yeah you have to leave door open or it will creat mold around the seal. I was never told this by her when she sold this unit to me plus I don't recall reading about having to leave door open in the manual. Sales woman told me to clean it with Bleach if that doesn't work then use Vinegar and water if this still doesn't work I will have to replace the seal.
