patricia of valatie, NY August 1, 2009 I have wasted an entire day of my life trying to find out why my Whirlpool Cabro Washer is displaying the F51 code. I called several local authorized service centers who were completely clueless. Finally, one local guy gave me the number for Whirlpool and told me to ask them about the F51 code and to find out what parts he should order to make the repair. Whirlpool customer service was NOT helpful and refused to tell me what the error code meant. I requested to speak to a supervisor and the rep left me on hold for 20 minutes before I was disconnected. Apparently this error code is a common occurance for a Cabrio at 2-3 years out. I would never buy another Whirlpool appliance and wish I knew about this potential problem prior to making my decision. I thought that I was making a sound investment and purchasing a washer that would last years. I was told the repairs would cost about 450. This is outrageous considering what I initially paid for this washer 3 years ago. I would probably be better off purchasing a cheap Kenmore for 350 that will last for 15 years and scrap the Whirlpool money pit Cabrio. Whirlpool should be ashamed for stealing money from consumers for repairs that are happening to all Cabrio's. "Come on Whirlpool - do the right thing and step up to the plate! Christine of Newbury, OH July 29, 2009 In 2003, I purchased three new Kitchenaid appliances, one of which was the Superba washing machine, model KAWS850LE0. From the very beginning, the machine would occasionally overflow, on a frequency of about once every six months. I assumed it was my error, since I would let the tub fill with water and soap slightly before adding the clothes, so I never called the manufacturer about the warranty. I started putting clothes in first, then filling with water, but the problem persisted. It appears that the wash water does not drain before the rinse water comes into the tub. Then we moved in 2006 and took the washer with us since it was only 3 years old. The problem came with us, and I then decided to contact the manufacturer. Whirlpool would not honor the warranty, since it had lapsed by the time I decided to contact them. But they offered to consider some help if we used their authorized repair centers. We did that on several occasions, paid for the trip charges, only to have the repairment unable to replicate the problem. We replaced a few parts that they tought were possibly causing the problem, at our expense of course. Still the problem persists. I am done with the repair centers. Whirlpool has been unwilling to conceed that this machine has a serious flaw, and has not paid for any repair visits, but offered me a token 15% off a new appliance. I passed on the offer. I really thought washers fell into the category of "durable goods" which should last in excess of 10 years. Obviously not Whirlpool or KitchenAid products. Paid hundreds of dollars in repairs with no results. Flooding of machine ruined clothes on laundryroom floor, since the colors bled when they became soaked. Shandree of Santee, CA July 28, 2009 2 and a half years ago we bought a Cabrio washer dryer set. Just recently, the washer started flashing an F1 error code. I did a search on line and found out that this is a common problem with the Cabrio. Whirlpool has recalled the part and is fixing people's machines for free as a result. I was relieved to hear this since it is a 1000 machine and it should last longer than 2 1/2 years. I called customer service today and was told that my model number is not covered under the recall even though I am having the exact same problems as others whose machines were covered. I was offered help in scheduling a service call that I would have to pay for. I feel ripped off. I should have bought a less fancy machine for half the price. Lesson learned. I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again. rita of steens, MS July 26, 2009 I purchased the washing machine in 2007 and i have mold that accumilates on the underside of the door, i wipe it off with bleach and it comes back after i wash clothes the next time, i am fighting a neverending battle against the mold and smell in my laundry room Annette of Waverly, OH July 25, 2009 We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Washer/Dryer from hhgregg March 2009. The Washer model#WFW9500TW already need major reparts. Basket inner and outer, pulley, seals. Since the washer was only 4 monthes old Whirlpool has sent a company out of Columbus, OH - (A&E factory) to repair my washer. Whirlpool told me as long as the parts could be ordered they would "HAVE" to fix it rather than replace it. I'm still waiting afer 1 month of going back & forth with Whirlpool and the servcie techs. I still do not have the correct parts. What a hastle. I bought the 2nd to the top model thinking this would last me along time. Whirlpool DID send me a 50.00 check for laundry expenses and DID provide me with a claim form for damage done from leaking washer to the floor. I have recieved some parts but not everything needed according the the A&E Cutomer Servvice 1-800-905-9505. Last conversation I had with Whirlpool Consumer Agent she said she would proceed with paperwork to replace my washer. Brian of Montgomery, AL July 23, 2009 Okay. I paid over 2094 for my whirlpool washer and dryer and FIVE year maintenance agreement on 03/11/07. First of all, my washer does not have a metal plate with model number and serial number on it anywhere. It was purchased, delivered and set up by hhgregg. It has had to be serviced AT LEAST 12 times since they were purchased. About two weeks ago, A & E Service came out here to replace a drum that was ordered a week prior. When the service technician replaced this drum, he said that he would not be paid for the service call because there was not metal plate with model number on the machine. A & E Service came out this morning about my dryer and a part has to be ordered for it! I will be out of a dryer for two weeks by the time they get back out here with the part. This is getting rediculous! I have put up with this nonsense entirely too long! I have had nothing but trouble with these machines. After buying the washer, two weeks later I bought WHITE towels, they are now grey in color after using bleach in every load and the white towels and wash clothes do not even look clean after being washed!! Get this, another call has just been put in to have service again on my washer. I can get no satisfaction from the manufacturer. I bought these machines because they were suppose to be energy efficient. They are not. I need help somehow. I have tried to get A & E to tell me the amount of times they have been out to my house to service these stupid machines and they say that they only have record of two service calls. This is an absolute lie! I have nowhere to turn. I do not have the money to just go out and buy new machines. Dwayne of Lancaster , SC July 21, 2009 Purchase a new washer on Jan 27. By mid March, machine broke. Part was ordered and machine was fixed after 2 weeks. Machine worked 1 day. after 3 weeks, machine was repaired for second time. Worked 1 day. Machine was slated to be replaced. That was in May. It is now mid July and I still have no washer. KRISTINE of North Cape May, NJ July 18, 2009 Had repair company at house approximately 5-6 times to repair leak in the front left of the washing machine. They believe it is a problem in the soap dispensing area. Also had problems with water gathering in the bleach dispenser, and the tub not filling completely. washing machine is a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6200VW0. Latest visit repair said techs had him order an updated tub ring, I was already advised that my model had the updated tub ring. Was told by repair man that the techs were grasping at straws. Repair times are anytime between 8am and 5pm, which means I missed 5-6 days of work. Rebecca of Asheboro, NC July 16, 2009 I bought one of those Whirlpool Cylaspo washers and the warranty has just expired and I'm having trouble with the machine displaying error code ld. I talked with a repair man and he told me about the problems with this machine. I paid over 500 dollars for this machine and I expect it to last more than 2 years. Report Your Experience
