Our 4 month old gas range leaked carbon monoxide poisoning into our house.Fire dept said it could have killed our entire family if we did not have detectors throughout our house. Whirlpool fixing it for free because its still under manufaturer warrenty. They THINK its the heating element and a valve Have had the parts delivered and was told that they could not accomidate us and help get service sooner to accomadate our scheldue so we have to wait 12 days to have it repaired due to our work scheldues and hope this doesnt happen again. The entire stove shouldve been replaced or us given a refund so we could buy a stove that wouldnt possibly kill us.

poisonous carbon monoxide gas

Whirpool called us today and as a Good Will gesture they will send us the parts to fix our oven. Since the parts retail for just under 200, it will probably be a 75 write-off for them. (Will the parts they send me be defective also?) Anyway, we would have to pay the service call/repair charges which are estimated to be about 200. So, now I would have about 750 in a stove that should have had a recall on the defective parts in the beginning.

When my husband said we have finally ordered a new stove since we did not hear from them and asked if they would just send us a check for the parts so we could apply that money to the new stove (I know that was ridiculous but what did we have to lose at this point?!), he was told if we had purchased a Whirlpool or Maytag that they might have been able to do something for us. Let me see.....problems with the brand so we buy another one of the same brand????? Anyway, I said I would update if I heard from them so this is the update.

I guess I should feel fortunate with my Whirlpool Accubake System double oven. I have had it for over 9 years, and only this week have I had the 1st problem - but it is the same problem that everyone else seems to be experiencing, i.e. after cleaning the top portion, the oven has lost all its power and I cannot unlock the door. I'm waiting for the repairman now - we shall see!

I haven't been able to cook dinner for my family for a week. The problem is definitely putting us out.

I bought my Whirlpool Electric Range W10162204A from Lowes in Lewes DE. When I received the range I have to have the top replaced because it was spotted and then I had to have the bottom door repaired because it was crooked. I call the repair man because the Oven Vent was discoloring the top of the stove, he said Oh, just clean it with a little soft scrub. It work once and now my Warranty is up as of 1/17/09 and the discoloration does not come off any longer I called the repair man again and he said there was nothing he could do about it. I'm so unhappy. I don't even want to use my broiler or oven any longer. Help me`

Well, this would have been the last stove I would have ever had to purchase. My husband and I are retired and needless to say we will never afford another. So the damage is done, the stove is ugly and getting uglier

My oven was just outside of warranty and the control panel stopped working. I paid 983 for a stove that was considered top of the line and not even 2 years go by and a vital piece of the range stopped working. It is now going to cost me almost 700 to get the oven working properly again. When I spoke to Whirlpool they insisted that there was nothing they could do even though I was just outside warranty. When I noticed that there were many other people experiencing similar problems with Whirlpool appliances I decided to contact your organization for assistance. Please if there is anything you can do for me it would be greatly appreciated.

700 in repairs for an oven that cost 983 initially....not even 2 years later. No oven for two weeks when you have two kids can prove to be challenging and expensive.
