Buying a Rainbow vacuum is a high pressure sale with a contract you CANNOT get out of and after your 1st house cleaning you WILL want to get out of contract, you will call the number to see what you can do to which financial will offer no help so you are stuck with a $3,600+ vacuum payment for 3 years. The vacuum IS VERY HEAVY, does not go around corners, and changing the water is CONSTANT!!!! Vacuum will shut down on you and you will have to stop clean out and redo water in bowl.

I actually had a decent and newish walmart bought vacuum (that I liked) that the rainbow demonstrator “TAKES FROM YOU” when they leave if you purchase a rainbow!!! WOW. Do your homework. Be careful and remember you will have that payment and it can go on your credit if you don’t continue to make your payments. SERIOUSLY. I did a draft and if it fell on a weekend or something and was one day late they would send out late NOTICES!!! I finally had to pay 1 month in advance so I was always ahead. I am in my early 60’s and using this vacuum WORE ME OUT!!!! Cleaning days and financially. I used it maybe 2 months and put it in storage. It is paid for now and I am trying to just give it away now at this point.

Like many others, we got the demo after winning a Rainmate mini air purifier. I wish we hadn't. The Rainmate itself will only handle a small are but it's loud. Entirely too loud. We got the demo on the SRX. As far as its vacuuming performance, it's top notch. Probably the best I've seen since our Electrolux. Well, we bought one. Then we actually tried to use it. First, the hose and powerhead are heavy. The unit itself is heavy and then you add water and you somewhere around 20lbs. The powerhead has a nice light. It propels itself. I found I didn't like the speed at which it wanted to move. There is also a trigger on the handle. So you must turn on the vacuum and then activate it with a trigger switch. This is only when the power head is on operation. It did not perform well unless the trigger was pulled. There was suction and cleaning but not much better than my Bissell.

The unit itself, aside from being heavy is also louder than and other vacuum I've had. It is also incapable of going around anything. You bump a doorway. Stop, pick it up, move it. Is it bump the coffee table. Same issue. I was told by our sales rep that I wasn't using it properly. To me, if my vacuum bumps into a doorway or piece of furniture it should slide right around it. My Electrolux did exactly that. We have LVP flooring and area rugs. Some of the rugs have a non-slip pad under them. The unit was incapable of traversing the carpets. Again, pick it up, move it, put it down. The sales rep also claimed this unit could purify the air in a 4000 sq ft house in 45 minutes. This thing could take the smell of burritos out the air in over 3 hours. I left the unit run on purify mode for 2 days and found it did very little.

It's supposed to humidify the air also. Didn't get a chance to try it out. For the sum of 4350 dollars I expected a far better experience than my 1200 Electrolux. To be fair, it vacuums wonderfully. Best ever in that category. It's everything else that make using it a miserable experience. It also needs love. Gotta clean the little trap inside every month and the water tank after every use. Not the end of the world. It does also act as a wet vac which is super. So to some it all up, at the price of 4350 US Dollars, it's one of the best vacuum cleaners out there, the air purifying aspect is a failure and really using it is where everything goes bad. We returned ours on the third day.

From the moment the salesman walks in your door the salesman starts telling you about the air purification. I have found that it does remove a lot of pet hair. And the vacuum does remove a lot of dirt, but as for an air filtration system, it does not work. Let me be clear on its lowest setting, It does not filter air, but if you run it at full speed, it barely filters the air. You would think with a sales pitch built around air purification that it would do exactly what they claim. It does function as a vacuum. But at no measurable rate, better than products, literally under half the price.

This is by far the most inconvenient thing I have ever owned! The hose, dragging that big machine around, the cord, all of it makes vacuuming a maddening experience! Do NOT waste your money! You are stuck paying an insane price for something that is terrible to have to use! And the “scents”? There is a reason they have you smell it right next to the machine during the demo, because you will not ever smell it again or anywhere in your house. Cleaning it is awful, thousands of dollars for something that is truly just not worth it!

Do not do business with this company. The only reason they get positive reviews is because they ask for them at the demo. If you buy from almost any Rainbow distribution location they will drop all communication with you after they've made their money. The program they say they offer so you can earn your Rainbow for free has so many loopholes in it that it's nearly impossible to complete and even if your do they will try to find a way to disqualify you or delay paying you. I completed the program and I had to hound them for over 5 months just to get my check. I know others who completed it and suddenly can't get a response from anyone.

NEVER buy a Rainbow new! The market is flooded with people trying to get rid of their nearly new Rainbows for a fraction of the cost. Also all the filters and replacement parts are available on Amazon for 10% of what you will be charged from the distributor itself. The demo of designed to make you feel good about the product but you are being scammed no matter how nice the person performing the demo seems. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

Obviously the demo went good enough for us to buy. However after sitting with my thoughts for a few hours, I couldn't justify $3800+ for plastic. I kept thinking, where do I dump it on a septic, you can see the waste left behind wherever you dump and it's not recommended to flush. Then I thought what happens if we break glass. And no wonder the suction is good but how good and how much would it take to clean an area? How fast does the water go dirty? Eucalyptus isn't safe for cats and they used it in the demo, and I have cats. The dust won't fly after mixing with water. You can find a cheaper product online. The warranty also doesn't cover what would likely happen in our house, it falling down wooden steps and cracking. Also, only 3 cleans on the filter a year? And you expect plastic to last virtually forever. I could go on. Save your money.

I had no idea that I was actually going to be ripped off on it. Rainbow has some of the most piss poor policies I've ever seen and I'm ashamed to say that I bought one. Bought 4 years ago - broke down - been down for over a year. Cannot find a "certified" repair shop/person for this particular vacuum. Salesperson is from Evart/ Reed City MI - He instantly ignored all of my calls and emails after he cashed the $3000 check...I had to track him down via friends from the area that he sold other vacuums to - 2 months after the purchase and the purchase of "all" of the extra tools/accessories - he sent 2 strangers to my home to drop the extra parts off and they asked for gas money to get back to reed city....14 days ago after multiple phone calls and emails to any and everyone I could find associated with rainbow I was given the name of a guy in Muskegon MI who works on Rainbow Vacuums as a side hustle out of his garage..

I sent my daughter with the part that he told me was the issue via phone call and I just tried to put that part back on my vacuum - it's too small - it does not fit and now I have a useless vacuum and a useless part that we had to pay this guy for. This piece of crap vacuum supposedly has a 10 year warranty...I left a message for this repair guy but have not received a return call...Do not - I repeat do not buy one of these overpriced pains in the ass vacuums....Rainbow itself will tell you to spend $150 to ship it to mo to be fixed - you pay shipping and hope it doesn't return with more issues. This company is a scam and their vacuum comes with too unforeseen or mentioned issues...I was lectured by this repair guy about maintenence and taking it apart to make sure unseen parts aren't broken....

I didn't pay $3000 for this vacuum to become a maintenence technician for Rainbow Vacuums..... The fact that the nearest repair person is 45 minutes away or the "other shop" in grand rapids - almost 2 hours away stated they didn't have any openings for repair - they are booked until february - or maybe they just don't want to deal with a piece of crap Rainbow Vacuum.

First I would like point out that most people do a review when they are dissatisfied for some reason, and that is why you always find more negatives than positives. I just bought the latest model Rainbow... It is an amazing machine!! When I set up the demo I didn't realize it was a Rainbow Vacuum, I thought I was getting shown an Air Purifier. Imagine my surprise when he broke out the sweeping/shampooing/vacuuming attachments. My aunt had a Rainbow Vacuum I used at her house while growing up back in the 70s/80s, I loved it. It made my day to see it's still around....I know it's a little spendy but if you take care of it you will get your monies worth and then some, and you won't have to continue breathing all the nastiness in the air anymore... And the scents included are amazing!!

My sister asked me to let them do a presentation at my house. I didn't want to do it, but it would help her out. When Teresa came to my house and hit me with her sale pitch, I wasn't feeling any of it. When they turned the "Rainbow" on and cleaned my carpet. I literally accused them of putting dirt on my carpet. Believe me when I say this, when I saw how dirty the water was I couldn't believe it. I have allergies and asthma and all I could think about was how I was just kicking dust and dirt around. Seeing that dirt like I did I started paying attention to what Teresa was doing and saying. That wasn't it, she took a throw pillow off the couch and put it in a bag.

Teresa then took an attachment sucked the air out of the bag. She then switched the hose around along with some fragrances that she added to the water in the base of the machine and blew air into the bag. She handed me the pillow, it actually felt lighter. The container that she had cleaned out after she did my carpet, now had dirt, dust and oil in it. I can't tell you how many times that I laid my head on that pillow. That is what convinced me to purchase the "Rainbow". From then until now, I don't regret my decision at all. I was able to get 6 family members and or friends to purchase the Rainbow Aur Purification Systen as well. I was telling a friend about it and she wanted to see reviews. I don't do reviews but after seeing the reviews that was there, I decided to leave one. I don't have a receipt that I purchased one. I will tell you that I did purchase mine in July of 2024.

If I could put no stars I would. I was asked by one of my clients if she could show me the vacuum to meet her quota. I was her first that she was doing with her supervisor helping her. Long story short supervisor ensured me that it had just as much suction as the other vacuum I had. Wrong. On hard woods it does ok but I primarily have carpet. My carpet began to look dingy, and within a month or so I had to switch back to my old vacuum cleaner and was horrified at how much debris I got out of the carpet. It also does not maneuver well over carpet. I was told that maybe there was a hole in my hose or that my hose was stopped up. Which was not true in either case. Now I'm stuck paying for a vacuum that I don't use and was sold on the promise that it was the best. Do not buy one of these vacuum. I've bought a lot of crap in my life but this is the worst. There is so much more I could say and tell about this vacuum but there is not enough space.

My wife and I were suckered into this purchase with the promise of a free trip just for listening to the demo. The sales person (Reid) sold us into this BS. She never once mentioned the 3 day return policy and by the time we tried to return the POS machine it was far too late. She gave us the option of scheduling a certain number of demos to pay off the machine. We had enough demos in line to fulfill our end of the deal. Ried showed to one of our demos but she or none of her coworkers showed up to our next scheduled demo and left us on the hook. This in turn soured the mouths of all our other friends and they all backed out, rightfully so.

I reached out to everyone that I could within the company and was never answered, no text answers, no phone or voicemail responses, absolutely nothing for several weeks. I even drove an hour to their office in Tempe to see someone in person but the office was for whatever reason closed "during normal business hours". Also the website was magically down.

After another couple weeks I was finally able to speak to a manager that apparently did not know the business phone was not operating as well as the website. All for him to tell me that there was nothing that he could do for me because I was binded to a contract. All he would do was personally conduct the remaining of my demos, as if I would actually put someone that I personally know though this same Hell that I'm am currently going through. Now I'm on the hook for and astronomical $5600+ for a POS machine that wasn't even originally that price. We were initially quoted $3200 or so. But we never expected to even pay that because we demos set up that Rainbow suckered us out of. Please, please, please save yourself from this headache, and scam and NEVER purchase anything from this company. They are complete trash!

I am writing to formally file a complaint against Rainbow Vacuum for predatory and deceptive business practices. I was approached in my home by a Rainbow Vacuum salesperson named Jose, who demonstrated the product and convinced me to purchase it. At the time of purchase, I clearly stated that I was prepared to pay in full with cash. However, Jose pressured me to use their financing option, claiming it would be better. The financing agreement was entirely in English, a language I do not understand—I only speak Spanish. I was not informed about the terms, nor was the interest rate explained to me. I recently discovered that I have been charged 19% interest on the vacuum, which I never knowingly agreed to. When I tried to pay off the full cost of the vacuum, I was told I would still need to pay over $1,000 more than the product’s price due to this interest.

To make matters worse, they later falsified a Spanish-language version of the contract with my signature clearly scanned onto it, as if I had signed that version originally. I never saw or signed a contract in Spanish during the sales process. This appears to be a deliberate attempt to cover their tracks and misrepresent the transaction. This is a clear example of deceptive and unethical business practices, and it is targeting Spanish-speaking members of the community who may not fully understand financing agreements or their rights in these transactions. I feel manipulated, defrauded, and deeply frustrated by this experience. I request the following: A full investigation into this matter. Immediate cancellation of the financing contract and correction of my account balance to reflect a cash sale. Refund or credit of any interest or fees paid under false pretenses. I will pay cash for the price of the machine, I can do that immediately.

To Whom It May Concern. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a recent experience with your company, Rainbow, involving a sales demonstration conducted by one of your representatives, Michael R. Michael came to my home to perform a product demonstration as part of Rainbow’s promotional and referral program. I understand it is part of Rainbow’s policy that all household members be present during the demonstration for the salesperson to receive credit, and for the referring individual—in this case, Sierra W.—to receive referral credit. While my husband did not stay for the entirety of the demonstration due to social anxiety, a condition that significantly affects his ability to engage in extended social interactions, he did come out to meet Michael, view the equipment, and observe the results after the demonstration was completed.

Despite this reasonable effort and accommodation, Michael contacted his manager, Alex ** (to the best of my knowledge), who advised him to retrieve the complimentary gift typically offered to participants. Furthermore, he informed Michael that he would not be receiving credit for the demonstration, and that Sierra W. would not receive credit for the referral either. I feel this decision reflects a lack of consideration for individuals with disabilities and may in fact be a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). My husband’s condition is a legitimate mental health disability, and denying participation credit because he could not remain for the full duration of a high-pressure sales demonstration seems both unreasonable and discriminatory.

Michael did everything expected of him—he arrived on time, completed the demonstration, and maintained professionalism. To penalize him and Sierra due to my husband’s disability is, in my view, both unfair and potentially unlawful. I respectfully request that Rainbow re-evaluate this situation and reinstate the credits for both Michael R. and Sierra W. Additionally, I urge your company to reconsider how such policies are applied in cases involving individuals with documented mental health conditions, to ensure compliance with federal disability protections. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and a resolution that reflects fairness and inclusivity.

      Sincerely,

      Amy **

The vacuum is quite heavy to lug around and I don't have any carpet installed in my home, so the vacuum doesn't get used to its full potential, however, I run the purifier all the time on low setting, I clean the basin and spinner every week to assure it doesn't collect too much slime and keeps running nicely, I find the basin does get a film but don't find there are a lot of floaters in the water. I wish I did have some carpet so I could utilize it more often. The representative stopped responding to call after purchase. Representative promised all kind of incentives for you to make the purchase which was never fulfill. They will sign you up with a lender without your knowledge or consent who is interested in you paying double amount of the cost of equipment if you are not careful. They will slam you with heavy interest rate.

I recently purchased the SRX. This was my 3rd Rainbow since 1985. All of them have been great machines but I just wanted to upgrade. Yes, they are bulky but the level of clean you receive is amazing. I am partial to removing the dust and dirt from my house and not storing it in a vacuum bag like all the other vacuums. As far as the bad reviews about the sales people then Shame on them! This is a bad selling tactic by the company to move the product. My sales representative was great! I wouldn't have any other cleaning machine! Oh..you need to use the vacuum on a regular basis to keep the dirt and dust out....

As someone who hates clutter, this machine replaces so many machines and frankly does a better job. It is a hefty upfront cost, but is an investment that pays for itself over time. At Rainbow they say, wet dirt can't fly and the SRX certainly blows the competition out of the water.

We bought the Rainbow cleaning system and love it. Wayne was so thorough with his demonstration that we had to have the machine. This system has helped with the dog and cat hair, dust and allergies. We run it on low all the time. House feels and smells pet free. I recommend contacting Wayne.

They lie to sell their products. They told us we can get it written off on our health insurance. It got denied and they're trying to send us to collections. I've had better customer service from cable companies. If they send a rep to your home to sell you something do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! They will lie to you.

We got our Rainbow in November of 2022. My husband used to have asthma and terrible allergies. A few months after we got it he was off all of his asthma medicine. We completed the rebate program. The first three demos I did were people over 65 and my rep reminded me of the qualifications after them. I had forgotten about the age limit. At the end, they did their verification process. It came back that in one demo we did the husband was over age and I didn't realize it (this friend didn't look over 65, but I asked him personally and he said he was 67). I replaced it with one within the qualifications and we got our finance loan paid off. We were also given a check for the monthly payments we made minus the interest accrued and taxes.

I was a little frustrated with the qualifications but my husband (who is in business) explained to me that it makes perfect sense from a business perspective. If they're going to pay you back for your machine they want you to take them to people who are most likely to purchase. For those that say it's cumbersome and heavy - sure! It's heavier than stick Dyson and takes a bit more effort to use, but the performance is so much better. My husband dug deep into the rabbit hole of dust mites and what regular vacuums blow out and we will never have a regular vacuum in our home again. We even picked our son's preschool specifically because they use a Rainbow.

Bought a used rainbow vacuum SE for next to nothing and while it does a good job, it is not as powerful as my new Bissell canister vacuum. The rainbow vacuum was a good choice back in the day before bagless vacuums came out but nowadays a cheap bagless canister vacuum is the better deal. True the rainbow vacuum may last a heck of a lot longer but for what they cost new and for what it costs to refurbish a used one it's not worth the money and not to mention they are a pain to use due to the weight.

So far I love this unit. We have 6 dogs and a car so animal odor and hair is a biggie. We run the unit all day long on whisper mode except for when we go to the store then we will set the 90 min timer and run it on high. Our house has zero animal odor and smells fresh and clean now. The vacuum is unbelievable when it comes to power, cleaning ability and the 8 in 1. This unit beat my Dyson to hell. People on here crying about the vacuum’s weight are truly grabbing for something to complain about. Get the longer hose. I honestly believe this unit is well worth the money. I’ve never seen a vacuum clean so good and also clean your air inside your home. I also have the mini air purifier in my bedroom. It is absolutely amazing!
