Tonya of paris, IL July 9, 2009

We purchased new kenmore W&D These appliances will vibrate and they were intended to be put on concrete floors only and if put on different floor other than that you must put plywood under them if not they girate all over the floor Sears will not replace even though they were under warranty they want you to purchase another warranty for a year then they will eventually in that year lemon them out MAYBE they have to make 4-6 service calls first WOW nothing on machines or stated when purchasing oh by the way these are heavy duty HAHA

Paul of APPLE vALLEY, MN July 8, 2009

My wife and I purchased a front load HE2 washer and matching dryer April of 06 when our last child left for college. After using our old top loan machine for 20+ years while raising 3 children (heavy use)we decided to move our old set to the cabin and purchase an attractive new set for our home. I thought these machines would last many years. I was very wrong. This moorning our machine was checked because it was making an odd noise. The repairman said the machine was shot and needed a new main bearing. The purchase price of the machine was 799.88 in april of 06. The repair bill estimate today, 070809, is 890.00!!! No offer of assistance- no help - pure expense. The rapairman simply said "You should have bought the extended warranty". the machine has three years of light use (just my wife and I at home these days) and has done a small fraction of the work the old machine did every year for many years. It's junk now. The price to fix it is more than the cost of a new machine.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite He3t front loading washer & dryer approximately 3 years ago from Sears. I have had numerous problems with both units, but I am really concerned about the MUSTY smell coming from the machine. It's getting on my clothes, and makes the whole room smell. I have gotten nowhere with Sears, and have given up trying. They are very indifferent to my concerns, and basically said that there is NOTHING they can do for me.

Beverly of Larkspur , CO June 20, 2009

Beginning the third year of using my Kenmore HE3, Model 44836, I began smelling mold. From then on I left the washer door open hoping it would dry out and the mold smell would go away. It didn’t. I went on line to see if there might be a solution to my problem and was shocked to find so many other people fighting the same problem. Typical home remedies tried were not successful for me or for others who tried them.

I called Sears for help. What a huge disappointment. I was told they could not help me as my washer was out of warranty (which I knew), and they would not give me a solution over the phone for their “legal protection”. I said I would be happy to sign something stating I would not sue them if the solution didn’t work. It didn’t matter. I understand that repairmen have no solution to the problem other than guessing that the customer is using too much soap. (I measure every time.)

I cannot get any satisfaction from Sears but intend to go higher up and continue to pursue this matter. I was extremely disappointed at their lack of assistance or concern. I had thought there would have been a recall or a posted “fix” to the mold problem. I purchased the matching dryer at the same time; and in 2007 I purchased another front loader and dryer for our house in the mountains. Had I known about the mold smell, needless to say, I would not have made the second purchase.

Linda of Mesquite, TX June 3, 2009

On December 18, 2008 I purchased a new Kenmore 600 topload washer. On the evening of May 31, 2009 the wash quit working. The washer will not do anything but aloud more water to run into it. It quit working full of water and with a load of clothes in it. When I called the customer service 800 number the lady I spoke with told me to unplug the wash and plug it back in to see if it needed to be reset and this was after I told her the washer was full on clothes and water. I again explaned to her the the plug was behind the washer and since it was full of water and clothes that would be impossible. The representative told me the next available date for a service person to come out was on Thursday, June 4,2009. This is a brand new washer why should it take 4 days for Sears to send out a service person on a washer that is 5 months old. If Sears does not have enough tech then they should contract the service out to other companies. It is summer 95-100 degrees outside the water in the washer is smelling and when I called the back today to let them know they didn't care. I've always bought Kenmore washers but this will be the last one I buy!

Brenda of Fort Atkinson, WI May 27, 2009

I have a Kenmore Elite HE 4t washer. The smell and mold and mildew are bad. For the money we paid there should be no problem. I'm ready to go back to the regular old washer. They seem to have no idea what is going on.

Angela of Forney, TX May 23, 2009

I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis Model #27072602 that I purchased May 2007 and used for less than 3 months then stored it. Once I moved Feb 2009 and used my washer again for less than a month it started going off flashing F 51 and beeping on any cycle, setting, etc. The washer costs almost 1000 and when the Sears repair guy came out to see what was wrong with it he told me the control panel was out and it'd cost 414.00 to repair. I have read on several web sites about this same washer having the same problem, then after it is repaired it will last about 3 months and go out again. Not only do you have to pay an outrageous amount to repair you have to turn around and buy a warranty to protect yourself. Sears knows this washer continually has this problem and will do nothing to help with a recall or whatever. I have complained to anyone I can at Sears and it does not help. So I deal with the stupid washer not working having to push the stop and start button over and over again until it gets through the washing, rinsing, & spinning to being done.

Chuck of Cedar Park, TX May 10, 2009

We bought a 700 Series Kenmore Washer at the Sears dint and scratch facility in Orlando, FL. Within a week or two we noticed it was leaking. I think we had two repairmen come out. The second one was honest and said the washer was poorly designed. If you run a small load the water splashes up and over the tub and onto the floor. Of course, they were trying to sell me the extended warranty, which would only mean I'd call a repair man. He'd come out and say we must be loading the clothes wrong. Since there is no fix they can do. So I'd spend more money and waste my time waiting for the repairman to come. If this is the kind of product Sears is now making, it will eventually come back to bite them since people talk and will stop buying Sears products. Sears used to be a trustworthy name, soon it could be a memory. We won't buy Sears again.

Sherry of Mattoon, IL May 2, 2009

We purchased a topload Kenmore Elite HE washer about 15 months ago. After only 3 months, a repairman needed to be called due to the F/F51 code on the panel. The repairman stated this model was known to do this. I thought great-we got a lemon! Now, 12 months later, we are having this same problem. I've never experienced such a nightmare, nor have I ever needed a repairman for any of my washers. (I've only had 2 since they lasted a long time.) So this experience has not only left me with a lemon washer, but also disgusted at Sears for having the nerve to put this product on market. Shame on them for selling me and many others this "top of the line" washer. Today's economy leaves no room for throwing money out the window. I believe it's up to Sears to repair or replace these washers free of charge. It's obviously a huge problem. I would even take a downgraded machine as long as it worked. After all, it can't get any worse than what I have. I am glad you provide this sight so you know other people's experiences. Please help us find some answers or where to take further action.

Sara of Victoria, TX April 26, 2009

I purchased a Kenmore front loading maching machine 4 years ago from Sears. It has always worked great and still does but just recently we started smelling a musty moldy smell coming from it. It has continually gotten worse while I have been trying to fix it. I have cleaned the inside outside of it/ washed whites with bleach/ run empty loads with just bleach and just water/ bought the recommended product from Sears to use for bad smell....nothing has worked and it has only gotten worse. I have called Kenmore/Sears for help and every time I call they tell me there is NOTHING they can do to help me. The smell is unbearable and the washing machine is now sitting in my garage!
