Kenmore appliances might be on a par with the competition but the affiliation with Sears doesn't help matters.

I purchased a Kenmore 565-8921590 (model #) microwave oven a few years ago from Sears. The oven was working well until recently it caught on fire. The inside of the cabinet melted. I noticed the product is made with a few metal screws visible which is where the fire started. In my opinion, I think this is defective merchandise. I tried to contact Sears for a replacement but to no avail. Please advise me.

We advised Bryan to report the incident to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which investigates such things.
