Panasonic Offers Replacement Lamps for Some LCD TVs

Patty of Martins Ferry, OH August 19, 2009

Purchased a Panasonic model PT-50LC13 television in October of 2004. We are on our 4th lamp replacement and we have replaced the cable and the ballast. All in all spent approximately 900.00. Were not notified of the class action lawsuit and got absolutely nowhere with Panasonic. Were basically told too bad for our luck. There must be something else that we can do. This is truly a lemon and Panasonic should have to take care of this. Anyone with any other options, please let us know. Oh, by the way, as I write this, the T.V. is out again. Taking it to the repair shop tomorrow.

Jody of washougal, WA August 15, 2009

I purchased the Panasonic 50LC14 in 2005 I had to replace the bulb for the first time in Feb. 2009...which was great. However, it is now August and the lamp indicator/warning message came on that my bulb needs to be replaced. This seems way below the the estmated hours it should last...even if I watched TV 24 hours a day it is only 4500 hours!!!

My lamp burned out for the second time. I seem to only get around 3,000 hours. My television model is PT-50LC13. I read on your website that panasonic Offers Replacement Lamps for Some LCD TVs. Panasonic told me that I needed to buy another replacement bulb.

My Panasonic would not show picture. I bought new lamp. It still does not work. My tv repaiman said main board was not working. Cost 1500. I gave 2458.64(tax included). I bought tv June/13/2006. It has been down since before christmas 2008. This tv should last longer than this.

ANGI of RIVERSIDE, CA August 11, 2009

I have purchased this Panasonic TV model #PT52LCX66 2 1/2 years ago and paid over 1400 for it from Circuit City. In June 2009 my "lamp" went out and it cost me 425 not even 3 weeks later the "ballast" also went out in this TV. I have been calling Panasonic and so has the TV repair person to find out the status of this part, that is no longer in "High Demand" therefore they are not in a rush to send/fix the part. As of today, Panasonic still DOES NOT have my part for my TV.

I keep calling to make a complaint and I either get hung up on or get very rude customer service. The part number is LSEP1206A1 and is going to cost another 460 to fix. So for a TV less than 3 years old, with all the parts going out, this TV is costing me almost 2300.00.

My sister-n-law bought the same exact TV from the same exact place at the same exact time and she is going through the same exact problem. I have looked on the internet and have seen many, many complaints regarding this TV. I cannot get anywhere with this company. I have a "malfunctioned TV". Please help me. Thank you.

william of sealy, TX August 11, 2009

we bought a pt50lc13 tv new 2005 from BestBuy and we have gone through two tyla1000 bulbs. We have seen on the internet that they have had a lot of problems with this certain TV. The bulbs are supposed to be good for 10000 hours -- but they just go out way too early.

We would have to watch tv 24 hrs a day to use up those hours. My wife and my self both work full time-not much time for that. These bulbs are not cheap--284. plus 24.33 frt. I still have both old bulbs if Panasonic would give an adjustment.

I bought the panasonic 50 inch hdtv for over 2,000.00 in 2005. I already had to change the lamp inside twice and Im getting this yellow tint all over my screen. I dont know whats going on and im going to call the panasonic reps right now.

Travis of Olney, MD August 4, 2009

My wife bought a Panasonic Tv not even 3 years ago and we are having to replace that Famous TY-LA1000 bulb in our Tv and to have to pay an addional 300 dollars for this is not right when Panasonic is having problems reported with this bulb and wont cover all the TVs that have this bulb in them. Its hard to spend Thousands of dollars on a Tv and it not last as long as its expected to.

vince of corona, CA July 25, 2009

I have replaced the lamp twice in a 4 year period.
