I am a single mother of two. I recieved seversl emails from Kaplan stating that i could further my education and attend college classes online. I immediatley called and started the registration procees bc i wanted to further my education. Currently unemployed,and with two children i can barely afford the essentials. I made that very clear to a fellow by the name of Christopher S who assured me that I would have everything taken care of and would have no balance left on my account after a loan from citibank and the fafsa and pell.

I asked several times to make sure if everything was covered, he stated that i was being handled very well and that he would help me in anything i needed. Two semesters in i get a bill for about 3000.00 dollars and change. I immediately call and speak to my suposed academic advisor who tells me christopher sarpy no longer works there and that she would get someone to help me in financial aide.

To make a long story short i was fooled fromt eh beginning. I was talked into getting another loan unsubsidized after my parent was denied for a parent plus loan and then i was ignored for 3 weeks until it was too late and they withdrew me from classes i was told not to log in to by my academic advisor. Rules state that 21 days of inactivity and you will be withdrawn.My advisor told me not to worry her name is Yasmine Wroy and she also said she would get me into class late with a note for my teachers. I am so angry not only at the kaplan system but at the staff.

Because of their repeated failure to help me my loans will now be charged and i have no means of paying. I also have to pay 10% of the classes i did not take. This is uncalled for i did not do anything to deserve this type of treatment. I have gotten hung up on, tranfered and dropped, given the run around and not called back for over a month. I am tired of this treatment i am a human being and i have responsibilities that come before this situation. Please help a desperate mother with no where to turn.

I have continued to contact Kaplan University in regards to an error with my billing and they refuse to send me any documentation or responde to any of my e-mails or return my calls. The university is trying to charge me for services never used.

As of yet, no damage but they are threatening to send it to a collection agency and that will affect my credit which will cause damages.
