USPS - No Mail Delivery

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

For the third or fourth time so far this year, the United States Postal Service lost or failed to deliver my mail. So today, being the 24th of May, is my son's birthday. There's no check to cash so I can get my boy his present. Of course, it is no one's fault. It's a normal function of our federal system, I guess.

A new credit card was mailed to me by my bank on 5-2-12. It has still not been delivered. A package from a seller on eBay was mailed 2 weeks before that has not been delivered either. Actually, nothing has been delivered to my home for almost 2 weeks now. I switched over to a PO Box when I was working because I was missing mail and thought neighborhood kids might be stealing it. Now that I am retired and home all day, I am still missing mail so apparently, it is the lack of delivery, not the kids.

I have to wonder about the honesty of the delivery person now. When I got my packages at my workplace, nothing was ever missing. My mail at the PO Box was not ever missing. Why is there a problem at my home? I have notified the bank about the missing credit card and they are checking to see if anyone has tried to use it. I am 70 years old and do most of my shopping online due to physical constraints. Because of the postal service's shoddy delivery service, I am becoming more isolated.

We moved into our house a few months back and were hit by a message from USPS that says, "You have to have a different mail box." I went up to the postal office and wanted to find out what that was about. The manager of this office tried to claim USPS and said we had to, but he could not produce the reg. number or any proof of this. At that point, the postal carrier started to refuse to deliver anything that required confirmation or signature. This mainly being only my meds. This has happened three times now and I have had to go without my pain meds for days once and almost a second time today. I have called the USPS customer service number and filed a complaint explaining to them it was both the manager and the carrier who were responsible for these problems.

I was forced to call again today as she refused to drop off my meds again today. At end of the conversation with customer service, I was told the manager would contact me Monday, which explained why the last time I called nothing was done and the call I was supposed to get never came. Now, this office is being allowed to keep my (United States vet) pain medications and force me to deal in pain for days and there doesn't seem to be much that I can do about it. If a lawyer is reading this, I would like to know a few things. Like, can I have the carrier arrested for non-delivery? Should I send all the information on this group of postal workers to news media and congress person? And how do I get my pain meds brought to my house as required by law?

I order supplies for my business that come USPS. This started 2 months ago with an order that got split because some things were out of stock. Two separate packages that both actually came the same day, 2 delivery slips, one came in my P.O. Box and one at my door. When I went to get my things, they said the one package was returned for address unknown that was a month ago. The package was sent again, and again sent back address unknown. This is costing me a lot of money due to loss of business. The address is obviously correct because I received half the order. I don't know what to do. I'm not going to pay delivery costs again. I guess I'll just take the loss.

Important mails are getting returned to sender stating, "No longer living at this address and did not provide a forwarding address." The only mail I get is mail that has been forwarded from my prior NJ address. Anything addressed to me here in Florida gets returned. I've been waiting weeks for insurance ID cards, checks, didn't get my electric bill. It's been going on for weeks and companies have tried multiple times to send me mail. All get returned to them. I made 2 calls to USPS and finally got a call back. I'm not convinced the problem is solved, still didn't get my electric bill and waiting for 3 checks from different companies. Please help.

Almost 16 months ago, I moved from ** East Brunswick, NJ 08816 to ** East Brunswick, NJ; and I notified the post office of my move. For some reason, I was not receiving all my mail, mortgage statement, credit cards, bank statement, transit checks, etc. All my mail was sent back to the original sender with a yellow label to inform them of a change of address to the old one. This means everything that I'm associated with in my life is not reaching me. I have late payment for my credit card, which is threatened to be suspended from my transit check program, which is a tax deductible. I felt that I'm losing control of my life.

I was able to retrieve some of the mail that was sent back from the sense with a yellow label on it and show it to the post office supervisor in order to have a clear idea of the problem. But it's not solved. Finally, I contacted the Consumer Affair, dialed the number (973) 468-7047, and spoke to Jane. After I explained to her the situation, she contacted the post office supervisor and promised me that the situation was taken care of.

2 weeks later, I'm still experiencing the same issue. So I called her to follow up with the matter, and I was very surprised that she was asking me to speak very, very slowly because my English was not understandable. I kept calm and proceeded with my issue, then she told me that now she understood where the problem was coming from. Then I was curious to ask her why it wasn't taken care of two weeks ago when I called. I wanted her to give me an explanation, but instead, she hung up the phone on me. I was very shocked of how rude she was to me on the phone, unprofessional and rude.

I called right back, and another lady picked up the phone. She mentioned right away to me that Jane didn't want to talk to me, and I asked her nicely if there was any supervisor I could speak to. I was denied that option, and she said that Jane was fixing the problem and that if in one week, if the issue still exist, then I would have to call back.

They wouldn't allow me to speak to anyone. I felt very insulted by the way she treated me. She did understand how much of a damage they cost me. She did not understand my frustration. She did not apologize to me, but instead, she humiliated me by accusing me of not speaking English properly and hanging up the phone on me. I contacted the post office many times, and I visited the post office and spoke to the post office supervisor AL on many different occasions. He was always polite and professional, but he did not know how to help me.

My mail box went missing last night. I put another one up and mail from next door was in the mailbox. My address is not on the box itself but the house numbers are on the front. The house number is on the the front door. How can I go from receiving mail to getting no mail in only 24 hours?

The ongoing issue is kind of confusing. There happens to be an unknown failure that comes directly from the post office that is causing part of my mail to be returned to sender. The confusing part is that the mail being returned is the dependable way of support to self-survival. After contacting residential post office and speaking directly with the supervisor, nothing was done because the supervisor stated that the failure is coming from the main office. Sure to what was said based on a password that the posting sticker being placed on mail provides. Besides providing this info, the supervisor also stated, when I asked if something had been done to concluding and fixing the problem, that anything I did nor all the phone calls that I made would fix the problem.

After this, I submitted a temporary forwarding request on mail. Then I completely received no mail at all. I called the 1800 number to the post office seeking help, a claim report was submitted with a case number provided. I was told an agent was to contact me within 24 hours, it didn't happen. I called 1800 number again and was told that after revising my case, the problem no longer existed. I have re-applied one too many times to services that were lost due to this continued situation and it's still in process without a fix. I have lost not only housing on a 2 year waiting list, health insurance that's not applicable to receive no more and many approval status on nutrition assistance that have been submitted and are to be submitted after this claim. Please, if anyone can help or advise me to where I can go can send an email. Thank you.

For the past week, the regular person was on vacation and no mail was delivered to this location. A complaint was initiated with no follow up. The week was 04/23/2012 to 05/02/2012. Again today, 05/03/2012, no mail was delivered. I need a follow up ASAP.

I am very angry about 3 packages that were supposed to be delivered to me from April 6 to 24 and I have still not received anything as yet. I went to the post office in Fulton 3 different times and they told me that it was delivered and it was a slot delivery. I am so disappointed in the USPS service. If it was a package, they were to make that person sign for it to make sure it was delivered at the correct address, but no, they just push it through the slot and that's it. Now, what am I supposed to do, call it a loss? I am struggling just like anyone else. I make sacrifices for things I want. Anyway, contact me ASAP and let me know what I can do. Thank you and have a blessed day.

I have not received any mail in my USPS box since 4/9/12. I have called customer service on numerous occasions and have received several case numbers as well as promises that I would receive a call back within 24 hours. No one has yet to call me back since my first complaint on 4/9/12. On 4/9/12, I had a verbal confrontation with my mail carrier; but there were no threats from him or my self. Bad language was exchanged. I have been told that my mail was being held at my main station. But when I went down there myself, neither the customer service lady or the supervisor John could find any mail being held for me.

I have continued to call the station, asking if they were holding my mail; and a supervisor by the name of Zarita continued to tell me that there was not a hold on my mail and that it was out with the mail carrier. I am still not receiving any mail. The USPS sent a package from AT&T back, because they stated it was non-deliverable as addressed. But I checked With AT&T, and they had the correct address on the package. I received mail from SSA and the State of Nevada Social Services, but I have not received any since 4/9/12. I keep being told that I should be receiving mail, but I have not.

After pondering and then gnashing teeth and almost crying, I am finally getting my mail. When I tried to follow up with the post office, I was put off and told to call at ungodly hours, only to find out that no one in the PO knew what was going on or they didn't want to let me in on the joke. Inadvertently, someone gave the number to the Consumer Affairs office in the local main PO of the state where I live. This office seemed concerned and was quite apologetic to me about my dilemma. They returned my calls in a timely manner and sent letters (yes, several) to be sure I was getting my mail. I don't know what they kicked into gear, but I received mail the next day that was dated four days prior to the delivery which tells me that the COA has pull and gets things done. I hope this helps others.

I called a Mr. ** back at the SA Broadway PO after I filed a complaint regarding not receiving my weekly paper. I had filed the complaint on 4/23. When he called me, he told me the mail carrier had delivered 2 papers to me on 4/22. Not true. When I came home, I had two papers in my mailbox dated 4/4/12 and 4/11/12. I received 3/28 on 4/16. I tried to explain to Mr. ** that this has happened before and he kept interrupting me. I also told him the papers sometimes came torn up, which I wasn't complaining about too much because I understand that they aren't in a protective cover. My complaint is that I am not receiving them weekly as I should. I've even let it go a week and sometimes, will receive two papers and that is understandable considering this is an out of state newspaper (it is from Big Bear, CA).

My complaint is that the postmaster/supervisor, or whoever Mr. ** is, was very rude, kept interrupting me and would not let me tell him my side of the story. He keeps on saying that it was on the other end (Big Bear, CA). I tried to tell him no, that they had sent me two papers 4/4 and 4/11 in an envelope on 4/13 and I received it on 4/18, so it is not on their end as Mr. ** was saying. Again, I tried to tell Mr. ** that this is the 2nd time this has happened and he would not let me talk and again, kept on interrupting me. I have always had good experiences with the post office and everyone I have dealt with has always been friendly and helpful.

I am not some young-teen again kid or a dumb woman. I am a 45-year old white woman and did not deserve the kind of treatment given to me by this postal worker. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what, but you don't take your attitude or whatever problems you are having out on your customers. I still want to find out who Mr. **'s supervisor is so that I can file a formal complaint with him too regarding Mr. **'s attitude towards me.

Why not outsource the post office for more productivity? I have lived in the same apartment complex for about 2.5 years and have had routine issues with the mail carrier. The last one has been the classic. I noticed about a month ago that I stopped receiving any personal mail. My mailbox contains fliers and magazines but no mail addressed to me. Business associates started calling and asking if I had moved as my mail was being sent back "undeliverable". I had not moved, not filled out an address change and definitely not asked for my mail to be held at any post office.

I went online and sent an email asking for an investigation into the issue and received the generic promise of a response within 24 hours. Forty-eight hours later and no response, I followed up with a call. I was told nothing happened to my first email but someone would call me back within 24 hours. This time, I was furnished with a case number for tracking. The first email could not even be tracked in the system, floating in cyberspace.

Today (within the 24-hour window), I received a call from a supervisor called ** in zip code 77304. She had no updates for me as my mail carrier was out delivering mail. She told me that it was at the carrier's discretion to decide as, when and to whom mail should be delivered. Paying for the service was merely a formality. She asked me "Did I know how hard it was to manage apartment complexes?" I listened in amazement because my next comeback was going to be "why not find people who can manage your job?" My mail carrier had taken upon herself to stop delivering my mail and subsequently return all my mail to sender. She had apparently removed my name from the slot and according to **, I was not even accounted for in their records.

I would like to know what recourse I have in this instance. I refuse to believe there is no accountability in this institution. Please help.

My complaint is due to my personal mail being returned and not delivered to me. I purchased a Post Office Box a couple of years ago. After the first year, the forwarding order expired. I changed my address with family, businesses, etc., to receive my mail at my post office box. To date, my mail is still being returned. I have made numerous visits to the Center Point and Downtown post offices to try to get the problem corrected. About three days ago, another letter was returned to my physician's office, stamped "Attempted Not Known". This has happened with a great deal of my mail. I am trying to get assistance with this ongoing problem. Please let me know what else I need to do to get this problem corrected. I have paid for an additional year for the Post Office Box. I am still not receiving all of my mail. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this matter.

I had a package mailed from India on March 28, 2012. It was processed in New York on April 4, 2012, according to my tracking number. As of today (4/18/2012), that is where it still is. It is now 21 days and counting. USPS is pathetic.

I'm not receiving my mail. The mails are being mixed up. The mail carrier was talked to. This has happened many times and they have had other complaints from other customers.

Since October 2011, I have been having trouble receiving mail. For days or weeks, none showed up. I, by chance, ran into the delivery person in Dec 2011 and he said he would not deliver my mail because he would not walk under the palm trees on the public sidewalk area in front of my gate. I made complaints to the post office at 18002758777 (about 6 times) and nothing changed for a while. When it did, the only thing they did was arrange for someone else to deliver my mail separately while the delivery guy made the run to the rest of my neighbors. Fine, I would have to do my job or be fired, but fine. That really would be okay. But here I am in Apr 2012 and with the exception of his absence, I get my mail whenever, whoever feels like dropping it off.

Its 4-13-2012 and yesterday, everyone else had their mail while at 6PM, I still had none. My mail must have been dropped off (not delivered) well after 6PM because when dropping my daughter to her school bus this morning at 6:15AM, there the previous day's mail. Well before today's delivery to be today's mail. Now its 3:32PM and all my neighbors have mail and I still have none. This is crazy! How can someone refuse to do their job and not be fired? Why is the Wagner branch instead suggesting that I get a PO box, not offering to compensate me with one for the inconvenience, but that I buy one. I pay taxes, don't I count?

I ordered something online and had it delivered to my company address. I was tracking my package through USPS online tracking service they provide. I noticed that they left a message stating my package was undeliverable. So I went to the post office to pick it up in person the day after (4/11/12). The lady I spoke to told me that the driver did not inventory it at the end of the day and that it may still be on his truck. So she gave me a number to the supervisor and told me to call near the end of the day.

I called the number and no one picked up the phone. So I kept calling and letting it ring a few times. There was one time I called and it seemed like someone picked up and just hung up the line. So I returned to the post office the next day (4/12/12) to find out that they were shipping it back to the sender. My problem is that I did not even receive a notice from USPS notifying me of a drop off, it was only through tracking it online was I aware. Also, the phone number (808-671-0369) given to me was useless because no one answered it. I'm upset due to the lack of customer service and not being able to get my order, which is being returned to the sender.

Okay, I rented a PO Box and I did not get my mail as I was supposed to, so I closed the PO Box and started getting mail at my residence. Then again today I did not receive all mail. My husband was told I had to go get it at the post office if I wanted it, but there was certified slip? Given.

My postal delivery person refused to deliver my mail due to a vehicle being parked on the street. It is not against the law to park the vehicle on the street, but it is against the postal policy for their employee to not deliver the mail. What happened to "rain, snow or shine"?! The vehicle was not in a tow zone, fire zone, or any other zone for that matter. Being that the postal system is in jeopardy due to lack of sales, you would think that the employees would do their job and go the extra mile.

I was at home all day, waiting for a parcel. I received no knock at the door. However, when I checked my mailbox, there was a slip prompting me to have to schedule for redelivery or take time out and go pick it up myself. It's because they can't just try three times like a professional carrier. I called the 800 number, and it was completely useless and as impossible to get customer service as it is to get the recording to understand what you're saying.

So of course, I went online to their website and had to fill out the redelivery form, but reading the carrier's writing was a pain in the neck. I hope I got the article number correct; all I could do was guess. All this could have been avoided, if the carrier would have simply knocked on my door. I was home and live in a small apartment. I do not know how I was supposed to sign for it, if the carrier does not even bother to confront me. You may try to be more professional next time, like your superior competitors such as UPS or FedEx. I will avoid using USPS for delivering parcels at all costs.

I mailed a package to Australia on Feb. 24, 2012. Today is 4/9/12. It is still in Sandston and no one will help!

The package was cleared by CBP New York on April 4, 2012 at 8:32AM. On April 4, 2012 at 10:55AM, USPS New York put a sign "unclaimed" on my package. They sent it back to the sender (Indonesia). They never sent it to Connecticut (Hartford). Why? Please help me!

Have not received mail for 5 days at an apartment community: Last Thursday, March 29, 2012, was the last day for my community to receive any mail from USPS. We have 221 apartments and over 500 residents, many of whom are international students who receive packages from home. I have tried the post office several times and left messages for the supervisor Albert, but I have gotten nothing in return. It is now April 4, and we have not had any response. This is beyond ridiculous and is downright pathetic on the postal service.

I am not getting the PFS that I paid for in a timely manner. Mail is not being delivered on a weekly basis. I get the runaround when I phone the old Redford station at 48219. I did not get mail for the week of March 7th until March 12. I have not received mail for the week of March 28th yet. I need your help. This type of negligence happened in 2010 with the same service out of the same Post Office 48219 and it was even worse. Help is needed and a refund for the week that I did not get mail so far.

Our mail carrier doesn't deliver our packages because she doesn't get out of the truck. She will honk the horn once and then move on. We have a chair inside our fence and we told her to drop it there but doesn't. We don't get many packages and they don't have to be signed for either. I am 85 years old and it isn't easy for me to walk but I can at least pick up my mail. Every day we get other people's mail that doesn't even live in this area. Recently, we had to resend a letter using our postage to N.Y. because it was someone's payment to Verizon.

I have run out of options with the USPS and you might be their last hope for me to continue to do business with them. I have a warehouse location on South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton, CO that I store product and ship product from. The USPS has changed my lock box keys 3 times since October and the last key I got does not work with any of the boxes and hasn't since November. Because of that, I have not been receiving my mail and most importantly I don't get my product returns, but I do refund people in the hope they someday arrive to me. I estimate I have lost $1,000 because of the ineptitude of my local office in downtown Littleton.

I have spoken to consumer affairs, some girl named Laura, and finally some guy named Paul who finally met me at my shop some 3 weeks ago and said the problem would be fixed. I am now going into my 4th month without getting any mail delivered including all the product returns that were sent back to me after the holidays. I am close to seeking legal advice, but I thought I'd check with you first.

This idiot named Paul has been nothing short of a liar. I find it amazing that someone like me who spends over $3,000/month on shipping fees has to go through this debacle. I am trying to run a business and I don't need this ** anymore. I will use FedEx for 100% of my shipping very soon. The USPS is supposed to make running my business easier and it has been anything but that. I even offered them to deliver my mail to my neighbor's mailbox which was a solution offered to me but never acted on.

I will be ignored no longer. It is now no longer a shock that the USPS is going to go bankrupt. The level of service is dismal at best and I am ticked off basically beyond repair. A business owner who cannot even get mail delivered is astonishing to me.

The Kensington Post Office, Brooklyn, NY provides attempt delivery notices when no attempts to deliver the package were made. I always receive FedEx and UPS packages all the time. I have a doorman who accepts and signs for all my packages. Most recently, I was to receive a package and the Kensington Post Office never attempted to make the delivery nor did they leave a notice. The item was sent back and now I have to wait another week to have it redelivered! Last month, I got a notice about a delivery and they couldn't even find it. The item eventually got sent back to the sender. I'm not happy at all!

I had been in Ecuador for 4 months until March 22, 2012. I had filed 4 mail holds each month, which is required for a long period and which were acknowledged via the internet. No mail was held, and I was told that all mail was sent back to senders. Consequently, I have no tax forms, mortgage statements, dividend tax forms, interest tax forms, stock statements, etc., to do my taxes. And I will have to find a way how I can find out and how I can receive them all, some of which from sources I'm probably not aware of. I had my mail held for 3 months last year with no problem, picking up my held mail at the Post Office. Now, they say they cannot hold mail after a one-month period and aren't aware I got my held mail last year!
