Marcia of Atlanta, GA September 4, 2009 I ordered some merchandise online that I needed on 8/24/09. The parcel was apparently delivered on 8/29/09 which was a Saturday, and I was not home. Since there was no signature or anything required, the package should have been left at my door, instead on Monday when I checked my mailbox there was a sorry we missed you notice. I had to travel to the designated post office to collect the parcel, only to be told that the parcel was not there. I called the sorting center to speak to the mail carrier and was told the package was not at that location either. I returned to the post office the next day to see if the package was there, and it was not. After a week of phone calls and trying to visit the post office, my package was still not located, and no one that I spoke to was remotely helpful. Maria of Houston, TX August 26, 2009 Mailed to Zone5- First Class: Certified and with Return Reciept. Mailed on 8/10/09 @ 2:40 pm. Called on 8/21 and went to post office on shepared to speak to an agent about the problem but only offered info that package was undeliverable. then I called the same day and spoke to Sherry to explain problem she made a note and gave me a confirmation number and states someone would call by the next business day but no one did Called on 8/24 and spoke to agent David and a Manager to report problem they also said someone would call about the status the next day and confirmation # OR45601068 no one called. Called on 8/25 and same thing confirmation number # and I doubt someone will call Called on 8/26 @ 5pm and spoke to Brandon who was also unable to explain procedures on lost mail and claimed to notify his supervisor Gloria his official title is Customer Service Rep for the US post office on the East Coast and would not give me more information. He also claimed not to have a confirmation number for this note. I have not recieved any phone calls and Brandon was unable to tell me what time an attempt was made to call me. No one at the call center is able to explain procedures or refer me to a policy on the website for USPS. Lee of Olney, MD August 25, 2009 Lost mail. I sent an Express Mail package several days and it has yet to arrive. It contained a USPS money order for an item I purchased online. There are several misleading statements by USPS on Express Mail such as: (Lie #1) It is an overnight service. Apparently they "try" to get it there overnight, but in my case they can't get it there after several days (Lie #2) A tracking service is offered. The only tracking information I can get online after 5 days is that it was received at the post office I took it to. Reading threads online, it appears they don't actually track and the only thing you will ever see on the tracking site is that it was dropped off at a post office and possibly an update after it is delivered, if that. (Lie #3) They deliver on Saturday's and sometimes Sunday. I sent this from D.C. to Fla early Friday morning. There was clearly no attempt to deliver on Saturday or Sunday. (Lie #4) You can call their customer service and they will help you. Twice (on different days) I was told "their systems are down" and nothing could be done and could I call back later. Luckily I believe I can get a new money order since I still have the receipt but will have to take time out of my day and not sure how that works yet. rose of media, PA August 25, 2009 I have a tracking number for a doll I ordered from Peru on 7/31. It was mailed on 8/8/09 from peru and arrived in Nrr804087980peYC customs on 8/11. Its been over 2 weeks and when I track it the info hasn't changed in 2 weeks. I was told USPS often just takes what they want and put them in a monthly Auction in Atlanta, Georgia. This is dispicable. Shirley of Fenton, MI August 25, 2009 Sent letter registered to Kenya and paid extra for tracking on July 20, 2009. Checked online yesterday 8/24/09 to find it reached NYC on the 27th and got to final destination-MY CITY-on the 20th last month! Pray tell, how could it reach final destination at my home 7days before it reached NY! Where is the letter? I called Postmaster at Fenton about 8:15 am this morning to hear the phone pick up and then put down after 4 rings without being answered, and after immediately re-calling to be told: "I'm too busy to help you, I have carriers waiting for things to do". (Does she work with children? Do they not know their job? Isn't the customer more important? She did ask for number and would call at her convenience, but hung up on her. I then called the complaint department, reached a Tonya (?) who was very apologetic, given reference number, said she would transfer me to an International operator where it rang one time and disconnected. Rarely do I use the Post office and this is even more reason to not use them. Their arrogance, hanging up without answering, then being "too busy", and then saying they will transfer but get a disconnect only shows why USPS continues to lose business, the competition doing better! Coralie of Bronx, NY August 20, 2009 October 20,2008 I returned a Laptop to Publishers Clearing House. Female Clerk at the Information/Passport counter served me. Given confirmation #. I've tried on numerous occasions to get a refund. Final sent a certified letter to the company. Received a reply 07/28/09 stating that package never arrived to the address I sent it. 08/18/09 went to Post Office at 93 4th ave nyc 10003, Ms D. Rene told me there is no record of Delivery Confirmation Number. How could this be Finally I went on line this morning, spent much time trying to get info on this matter, result no record of above Tracking Number. I had faith in the Postal Services, but this is a rude awaken how could I have in my position a Tracking Number which is not recorded anywhere. The clerk knew what was in the package. I will not rest until I know how this Post Office tell me where my article is. Await your reply before I take further action. Due to this situation I'm unable to receive a refund henry of nashu, NH August 19, 2009 I shipped 3 packages to the same person in Argentina through USPS EMS on 7/8/09 and the least weighted and valued package got delivered on time. While the two most expensive ones got stolen. The online tracking shows "International Dispatch, July 09, 2009, 10:12 am, ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)" and no more update since then. I Filed inquiry with usps and got claim form simply stating the packages WERE STOLEN. I don't know how usps handles the packages and how could two large and heavy boxes got stolen at the same time. The 2 packages almost cost me 10,000. But unfortunately, I only insured 500 each because that's the maximum value allowed online. I know I made a huge mistake not to fully insure the packages through EMS simply to save a trip to the postal office. But I have never heard two packages got lost together. I have to ask USPS how them handle the shipment and how could such incident happen? I understood USPS may occasionally made mistakes on package handling. How could on two large packages at the same time? I talked to USPS 1-800 personal several times. But no one can offer further assistance. I wish someone could help me and recover some of the loss. I fully understand the economy is not good at this time and the USPS can steal some packages to compensate their income. But please only steal one package at a time NOT TWO packages. Thanks! Jerry of Robinson, TX August 19, 2009 I mailed a package through USPS with tracking and insurance. They lost my package, and refuse to refund. As of last week. Eliza said she had everything she needed. Now, Declined my claim. I have been trying to collect my 500 for four months. Barbara of Fort Lauderdale, FL August 15, 2009 Mailed 7 dvds from there first class and only 6 arrived. US post office wonders why UPS is slowly eroding into their territory. It is because they do a better job. 1 daughter never received dvd of our 50th anniversary Nira of Woodbridge, VA August 15, 2009 Everytime I mail a package from this post office to return some purchased items, it goes missing. We have lost so many packages and all they say is they can;t track the package so they can;t do anything. If I gave my package to the postal office cleck and he threw in a box with pile of packets to be mailed, how can it go missing. And it only happens in this post office and not others, which I had to use. I am sure that somebody is stealing packages with goodies in them and the postal service is not doing anything. Somebody in the media needs to step up and find what is going in this postal office. What is the use of returning our precious items via USPS if they are taking our money to rip us off. | |||
