US Postal Service Drivers

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On 11/27/2011 at about 1:30 pm, I was driving north on route 17 near Ramsey, New Jersey. A US Mail tractor trailer ** (I believe license plate was **) going in the right lane in front of me has started changing lanes into the middle lane, while there was a small Honda Civic driving in that lane. The mail driver obviously saw the car. He was deliberately and persistently pushing Civic out of the middle lane and into the left lane, creating very dangerous situation in front of me. Two minutes later, the trailer was in the middle lane while Civic was driving alongside in the left lane. The US Mail driver started squeezing the same Honda Civic by pressing into the left lane. Honda did not have anywhere to go and had to accelerate not to be smashed against the center barrier.

Now they were going in the left lane, Honda first and trailer pressing on her from behind. Then, the trailer decided to pass Honda on the right and changed the lane to the middle lane in front of me. At this point, I had to honk at all this mess going in front of me. The next second, a plastic bottle thrown from the trailer's window hit my windshield. Luckily, it was empty and just flew away. I had to take a picture of the trailer and can submit it to you to confirm the truck identity. Please confirm the receipt of this note and let me know how this outrageous driver's behavior has been addressed. Thank you.

I was on 316 at approximately 7:40 Am on 10/31/2011 heading east on 316 when US Mail truck number 30128-5 (Winder,GA) entered and exceeding the speed limit for the ramp by over 20 miles per hour and cut me off when I had the right of way and nearly ran me off the road. The truck was to yield and did not instead the truck just moved ahead speeding and cutting me off. This is very dangerous. Please acknowledge receipt of this.

In the evening of 23 Sept 11, between 7:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., I was driving on 35W North. A USPS white mini-van was driving over 80mph weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating me along with several other drivers. Your USPS driver was not only endangering himself with his reckless driving, he also put scores of other drivers at risk. Your driver started tailgating me around 35W and Hwy 36 north and continued to do so until he cut off several drivers to get past the heavy traffic. I have never complained in my entire life but this was way over the top! Your driver moved through the traffic like a DUI suspected, not using his blinker even one time.

It was a sea of red tail lights ahead of me with his driving cutting other drivers off to move from lane to lane! The traffic was heavy since this was a Friday night and there was nowhere to go and move out of the way for this jerk. I lost him until 35W North and Hwy 10 West where he again moved across three lanes of traffic and cut off several drivers to make the Hwy 10 West exit. This driver has no business driving, let alone represent USPS. The speeds had to be around 80mph in a 55 MPH, 60 MPH and 70 MPH speed zone. If I could have caught his tired **, I would have beat the piss out of him on the spot! He should be fired and his driving for USPS should be terminated now.

This is to notify you of a very serious safety issue that presents itself on a daily basis . That being mailmen who park less than the required amount of feet from the corner and who upon request refuse to move their trucks. This situation presents itself on a daily basis with the carrier who delivers mail in the area of Laurel and Louisiana Ave. Laurel is a one-way Steet which crosses Louisiana Ave.
This particular carrier has no regard for his safety or for the safety of drivers wishing to drive across Louisiana. A request was made from aproximately three weeks ago concening his parking his truck less than ten feet from the intersection blocking the vision of anyone having to cross the intersection. He still refuses to move the postal vehicle to the opposite corner and when questioned, replied, "This is my corner". When I informed him that I would report him to his supervisor, he replied, "Do what you need to do".
I did report him this morning and was told that someone would be sent out, only to see his truck in the same position. I am a good driver, but even I lack the ability to see thru this truck. I would suggest than someone handle this situation before their is a horible accident on this corner. I have photos of this hazard and would gladly offer them to anyone who gets injured at this intersection.

Bernadette should call the New Orleans Police and demand that they have the postal van ticketed and/or towed. If that doesn't work, she should contact her alderman, city council person, ward boss or whatever they're calling themselves these days.
