Debt Collectors Go After Expired Verizon Bills
Afni Complaints
---
Your Debts, Your Rights

Bradford of Tempe AZ (03/01/09)
I received a letter from Afni about a T-Mobile Debt. I have never had T-Mobile service in my life. I might have had a phone from a company that T-Mobile bought but that would have been over 8 years ago. They are trying to bill me 331.24. This debit does not show on any of the three credit reports, and at first I thought it was a scam until I had seen the pages of complaints on multiple sites about their company. I have no intention of paying this debt.

This was very disturbing letter to receive while I have been paying off credit cards to pursue the purchase of my first home.

Received a collection notice for money I do not owe. They state they acquired this from Verizon California Inc for the amount of 383.81. This is NOT valid, it is not due, it is not even on my credit reports. I have investigated this company on the internet and found multiple complaints from victims of this company about false bills due. It is on your consumeraffairs.com site also.

I will be ingoring this mailing from them but watching my credit report for any negative activity from them. Please investigate this company and stop their fraudulent activities! Thank you,

I was contacted by an attorney who has started a class action suit against AFNI. Hopefully in the not too distant future AFNI will be out of business

I have been receiving letters from AFNI regarding an overdue bill from Verizon from December 2004 in the amount of 1119.35. I have also received bills from you with amounts saying what I promised to pay. I have NEVER said I would promise to make payments. I have been dealing with Verizon for years and I continue to receive service from them. I have also changed my mothers phone account from her name to mine with no issues whatsoever.

This so-called bill has also not appeared on any credit reports. I have discovered that the statute of limitations have expired on this so-called overdue final bill. I WILL not be sending you payments on this account. And if I continue to receive correspondences from your company I WILL be in contact with the Better Business Bureau and the state attorneys office.

None yet but as I being on Social Security and Medicare I do not have much income coming in and the thought of this damaging my credit and the harassing bills continuing to come to my home is very stressful.
