Thomas of Binghamton, NY July 9, 2008

Thomas of Binghamton NY (07/09/08)
I received their documentation regarding their credit card offers, and I read them thoroughly, to make sure, even the fine print. After reading the information packet, I concluded that this was a credit card I could trust, and use, and was on my way to making my credit better again. I signed up for the card, and for the protection it offered in their brochure regarding the options of paying an extra sum of money, on top of my monthly usage fees and expenditures, so that should I become unemployed, they would cover the remaining balances until I found work elsewhere.

Now I had the card for I believe over a year, and I don't recall if it was an extra 9.00, or an extra 39.00 a month, but I paid it, in full, without complaint. So when I became unemployed, I submitted the proper information to the proper department within the banking/credit institution known as Cross Country Bank and they called me to tell me that I didn't have that coverage. I said I had been paying them all along for it, and it showed on all my bill statements as a charge, and they said, well, people from New york State aren't qualified for that option, and they don't know how I got it, and that it didn't make any difference. I was told I owed them money, and they were going to get it by any means necessary.

They began a long campaign of harassment with phone calls, day and night, but eventually they gave up, because I told them, We are settled up, because the amount you were taking from me in the end, ended up being more than I should have paid, and they said I owed them the maximum my card was allowed, which was 500.00 plus interest, and I said, I figured out that whatever you think I owe you now, has already been paid in full by my monthly over charges based on your offer of coverage should I become unemployed or disabled in some way, and to be honest, based on my own calculations, you should be paying me back around 250.00 to which they denied, and said I still owed them money.

I'm not even sure if it's still active or not, them pursuing me for the amount, but I don't care, I just think they should be punished for their apparent and obvious fraud. I'm not sure if it's been too long to do anything about it, but I hope they suffer.

They ruined my credit, and my faith in other people.

I received a Cross Country Bank Card about 9 years ago. I bought a product with the card but later returned the product. I only had about a 300 limit and they have been haunting me for 9 years and say that I owe 4415.68. I've called the CC company and turned in a fraud complaint and still nothing. I just got a civil suit against me from Cross Country Bank. I do not know where to turn now. These people should not be allowed to do business. When I did call and ask that they send me an original bill showing me what I had ordered they could not produce anything, yet have the gall to now after 9 years take me to court.

they have harrassed me for 9 years now calling and being extremely rude. My husband has resulted to almost cussing them out because of the constant phone calls.

Charlene of Clinton, MD April 29, 2008

Charlene of Clinton MD (04/29/08)
on april 28, 2008 I received a letter stating I owe cross country bank an amount of 807.00 If I wanted to pay off the debt I could transfer 724.00 to another visa card that I am preapproved for and save 93.00 and consider the debt paid in full but I would receive a card with no amount until the transfer balance was paid off. I recently checked my credit looking for the account number they supplied me with an found no account or cross country bank on either statement from equifax, transunion or experian. What do I need to do because they said if I don't agree to the terms it would be put on my credit or file a judgement.

There has been no consequences or economic damage as of yet;just received the letter 1 day ago.
