I won't regurgitate all the other complaints against Applied Card. Most of which are the same complaints I have, but rather I'd simply like to know if anyone has an actual e-mail address to contact them so I can track the message since phone calls don't work. After having a card from this predatory lender for over a decade due to having bad credit, I paid off and called to close it. Was of course charged yet another $15 fee although I closed it with a zero balance, and was told by the call center rep that I'd receive a letter in the mail confirming that it is closed.

Almost two months later, still no letter but I get another statement showing that I still have available credit, which shows that it was never closed. I wasted more time calling again, and surprise... no record of any request to close the account! All I want, other than this shady company to be shut down, is to be able to e-mail them so I have a written record of my request. If anyone has a valid e-mail address for Applied Bank, or better yet, a live executive there, I'd be very grateful.

I've been waiting all month long to receive my new credit cards. I've been with Applied bank for 3 years and have always made my payments on time. I have been contacting customer service since the beginning of May asking when will I receive my cards and they say "you'll receive them 2 weeks before the month is up." I contact them on May 15 stating that I still have yet to receive my cards. They go "you have returned mail and we need your new address." I tell them my address has never changed, I never changed it, and I get my bank statement every month from them. They say "oh no problem it must be an error and we will correct it."

Today is May 29 and I receive a letter in the mail stating that since I changed address they are unable to process my request and send out my new cards until I send in current bank statements, gov't issued ID, and a utility bill. At this point I am beyond frustrated and upset. I call them and tell them the same thing and this lady tells me there's nothing they can do because the card system is animated and basically it's my fault. But how is it my fault when I still have the same address for years and it’s my own money you’re holding!!!

So now I'm waiting on a call from the bank which can take 3 to 4 days. And my card expires in 2 days which means I can't rent a car or book a hotel room or anything. Their company is truly a scam and they have no respect for elite customers. This is such an inconvenience and I would never recommend this bank to my closest enemy.

This credit card is pretty pathetic. It is impossible to access any credit card activity prior to six months, and actually one of the six prior months is "currently unavailable for viewing please check back later". I've been getting this message for three days. This inability to view last year's activity for income tax purposes makes this card useless for a business. Real credit cards (Citibank, Chase for example) organize and categorize prior activity. Doesn't Applied have computers? What a joke!

This is the most horrible bank/credit card company I've EVER had to deal with. I have been with them for 2 years....even though my account reflects one year. I opened the account in the beginning of 2013. The only reason I opened the account was because I was building credit. It was secured by $200. I've NEVER been late once on this account. Not once. I have had a perfect account. I go online to check my account, as I do with all my accounts every few days... and there is a balance of $50.50. It’s not my charge. I look over the account trying to find out where that money is coming from. I can't find ANYTHING.

So I called Applied Bank on the week of February 9, 2015. I got a guy who was decent. He told me that the $50.50 was an annual fee. Um, No. I’m not paying that. So I gave him the reasons I'm refusing to pay, and he agrees to note the account. Then he asks me to send a "letter" explaining to them why I won't pay the $50.50. Ummmm, that’s weird. I told him so. Why should I do all this work to have this fee removed. Bottom line, I did everything they wanted. I waited the 7-10 business days for this fee to be removed, and it’s not. The bill is due on 3/3 and today is 2/25!!!

So, I call at around 10:45am this morning. Got this rude man, you can tell he hates his job. I don't blame him. I was a Customer Service Rep for 14 years. I would have been fired for talking to a customer the way this man talked to me. I started out very polite with him, until he advised me that they were NOT removing the annual fee. He didn't even seem sorry, almost triumphant!! Seriously!!! So, I became more aggressive. I threatened to close my account. This guy had the nerve to say, "Well, that’s your choice, but you will get your money back (secured account) minus the balance of $50.50 and this will negatively impact your credit." Almost like a threat. I could NOT believe I was being spoken to like this.

A perfect customer, with a perfect account. I asked for his manager.......after 5 minutes, he passes me to a woman who is just as bad as he was. I doubt she was a supervisor, but her name was Nancy (right, like I believe that) and she claimed her operator number is "**". RIGHT. She too, refused to give me a one time courtesy adjustment of the annual fee of $50.50. When I told her how her rep treated me, she told me she was sorry I felt upset by his treatment. What??!!! Is she serious!!??

I called their bluff.....I closed the account. They WILL deduct the $50.50 from my security, but what am I going to do??? Stay with them??? Nope. See ya!!! ANYBODY WHO IS THINKING OF REBUILDING THEIR CREDIT HERE, STAY AWAY!!!! I was with these people for over 2 years with a perfect account and this is how they treated me. I don't even have secured cards anymore. I left this account open because it was my oldest line of credit. I have regular credit cards now with a decent credit score...... APPLIED BANK doesn't care about their customers. STAY AWAY. BEWARE!!!

Everything you have read here is accurate. I have had a Applied Bank Business credit card for 2+ years. Started with $500 limit and eventually got it to $1100. Was charged $100 fee each time it was raised. Always paid off the balance each month and was charged $10.95 to actually PAY my bill. A $9.95 account maintenance fee and 24.95% APR monthly. It will cost you over $30.00 a month just to keep this card in your wallet or purse even if you DO NOT USE IT!! Do not get this card. Try Continental Finance, or even Capitol One secured. They raised my limit within 6 months from $200 to $750 and didn't charge me a dime. Applied Bank is a version of the modern day "loan shark". I have closed my account and await to see if additional fees are imposed. I will update and investigate if it does.

They will hold your money for up to two weeks after the merchant releases a hold. This process is normally a few days with real credit card issuers. They will assess a penalty and not allow you to use your card for if you are more than several days late, and they take forever to process payments. What a disgusting "bank". Applied Bank is basically a "Leach." Once they get their hooks into you, getting out is very, very difficult. I've had an Applied Bank card now for several years. I mostly used their internet site to pay my monthly bills. They say ignorance is no excuse but I never realized that their interest rate was over 29%. I must have been desperate taking out this card. For every dollar you pay them, they take .30 cents.

Realizing how stupid I was, I have been trying to pay off this card, tearing it up and being done with them. Not so easy. I recently made a substantial payment online using my checking account information. It was not posted for nine days. I incurred a late charge and called. It was very difficult to get a "live" person at Applied Bank but when I did, I asked to speak with a supervisor. It took some doing but I eventually spoke to a so called "Supervisor." He made a three way call to the bank I used for the check payment, which by the way, Applied Bank put through as an ACH transaction and it had cleared the day after I made the payment to Applied Bank as a "Miscellaneous Debit." The supervisor verified that, in fact, Applied Bank received the funds and credited my account and reversed late charges. The supervisor told me had he not called it would have taken another nine days to credit my account. He also had to "unfreeze" my online banking with Applied Bank because I had set up another payment, which I stopped, in case for some reason it was not received by Applied Bank. I then received a $26.00 stop payment fee as well.

My Motto is: "Don't Get Mad, Get Even." I filed a written complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and am awaiting a response from them. They give 15 days to Applied Bank to respond. While I realize I probably will not get the satisfaction I really want, I will now file a complaint in a Class Action Suit with an Attorney that deals with Consumer Protection Advocacy. Oh, and by the way, beware of an offer from Applied Bank to increase your credit limit by $300.00. They take $100.00 of that as a service fee and in essence you get $200.00 and an increased liability to your account.

Good way to build up credit or so I thought. I've requested they switch it to an unsecured account and they have refused saying they NEVER DO THAT. So my $500.00 is stuck in an account that they are making interest on. I pay the card off faithfully every month, some months I don't even use it. I cannot get a higher limit either unless I deposit more money. What??? I cannot close the account without having it adversely affect my credit score and I want to buy a house. Do not fall for these scammers. So far I'm not paying any interest or fees, except the annual one. Also their website sucks as far as resetting your password information. Applied Bank states I opened a cc back several years ago. After fighting them for YEARS, and sending fraud affidavits they "never received" by mail, fax or otherwise, they refused to acknowledge that maybe just maybe I did NOT open the account. Where I went wrong: IN 2006 when I first got a mailing of a bill: I called them. They said "Verify your SSN" and my dumb butt gave it to them. The rep said "That's not what we have" and then PROCEEDED TO CHANGE IT IN THEIR SYSTEM TO MATCH! That is ILLEGAL! If the info doesn't match, then OBVIOUSLY it's NOT mine!

They also changed my name in the system to reflect the correct spellings of first and last names. That was the start of my nightmare. I know now, NOT to "give" anything to anyone as "confirmation" because they can change the info and try to collect from you! After several months, I ended up filing a police report. They can't do anything because I didn't know who could have opened this card and it was out of state (I believe MD or DE or somewhere is where they are located). So, not much I could do. I would fill out and fax/mail affidavits over the years with 2 things happening: NO response and then any inquiries I made "We didn't get it".

Apparently, how this card was supposedly applied for was "BY PHONE" Seriously? No signatures? No verification? How the heck could someone just open a card by phone with NO supporting documentation? Not to mention obviously, the bill that came in my name was not correctly spelled and then they tell me the info I gave them was incorrect. Hmmm... BIG HINT people? THEN, after so long fighting them I gave it up and told them NEVER to contact me again and have not heard from them since. I disputed with credit bureaus, but when you do disputes online, they don't really do anything. So we get to this year, and I see these people are STILL showing on my credit report, BUT that it is schedule to fall off August 2013. The Statute of Limitations in CO is 6 years and we are at 7 years, thankfully.

So, what do you think they do RIGHT as I am getting ready to get a mortgage and wrote a statement of "NOT MY ACCOUNT" but was told NOT to place any disputes on my credit reports especially since its schedule to fall off? These people SELL it off to a collector and tell them to CONTACT ME. Of course, I didn't recognize an 800 # so I called it back thinking maybe it was one of those insurance quotes I was trying to get. Nope! It's the collection agency trying to get me to pay the "balance" they allege is owed. OF COURSE, I refused, told them "You know you're not supposed to contact me per FCRA about this alleged balance owed, this account was never mine and NO I will NOT make ANY payment and what makes you think I will after NEVER making ONE payment EVER. And I also know that the statute is up and I also know what you're all trying to do! Get your "alleged" money right as it is to fall off so you can start the statute all over and continue to report!" Are we KIDDING!? I told them Friday NOT TO CONTACT ME AGAIN!

Today is what, Tuesday? And guess who called?! I have them programmed into my phone as "APPLIED BANK SCAMMERS" so they can't deny they have YET AGAIN violated FCRA and CONTACTED me after Friday telling me they would take me off the list and NEVER contact me again and they would tell Applied Card they were asked not to contact me again! WTH!? Do these people not realize that they are violating all kinds of laws? Obviously, this will fall off because I REFUSE to make ANY payment, even a dime, on a balance that does not belong to me paying it acknowledges the debt and that's not right.

I have heard that sometimes, right before something is scheduled to come off the report, the creditors try to collect one last time and if we refuse to pay, then they will pay the collection agency to make a payment "on my behalf" Well, I'll tell you this, if that happens, they will get SUED because this is WRONG and ILLEGAL. I can't say that they will do this but it's awfully suspicious after a no contact request that they've honored all these years being violated now right at this time that they are up to something. I'll update if they do try anything else. So Applied Bank will not get paid: WHY? NOT MY BALANCE.

It has happened three months in a row. When I first applied for Applied Bank, the website looked promising. The highest rated bank in America, you say? Wow! Sounds great. But I know I won't get approved. "But hey, I need cash and it's better than a payday loan so why not?" I thought. I got approved for the business credit card with a limit of $350. Well, not really... After the opening account fees and such, my limit was only $225. I cash advanced that at my local Chase Bank and used it for my bill, gladly thinking of that low payment I'm going to have :).

Well I couldn't have been more wrong. I used exactly $225, not a penny more. Then they charged the $9.95 monthly maintenance fee, as well as the interest and even know both are bs fees. I expected them and didn't worry. But then, because THEIR FEE caused the account to go over limit technically, I guess, they charged a whopping $35 fee. That's on top of the $9.95 monthly fee and the interest, which caused me over 50 bucks over limit and a $70 (MINIMUM!) payment.

I was devastated because I couldn't afford it. So I thought, "Well, maybe I won't pay." Well, if I don't pay, my interest goes from 23% to 29.99% plus the $35 late fee on top of everything. So I decided to take the little amount of money I had left to pay it. I decided to pay it on the automated system to prevent a fee as most people do. Instead, I got $11.95 charged with my payment for pressing buttons to a computer system. So the amount charged to my bank was just over 80 bucks! And my available credit was about 15 bucks or so - I can't remember. I again spent money on the card without thinking. And the same thing happened so I called the company thinking they must have a one-time courtesy for removing a fee.

They told me that because my account is over limit, they can't discuss removing a fee so I pay my 70 bucks and they'll "think about" removing my over limit fee. So I did. I called back; they said they'd let a manager know. Expecting my account to have available credit soon, I watched it and nothing came. I called and they said the manager reviewed it and said that it's a valid fee. I demanded to talk to a manager and waited more than 20 min. for one. A manager never came and I just hung up in anger and unsatisfaction. The customer service rep I talked to originally, I could not understand.

In conclusion: This company is money stealing **! Stay away! If you have so much money and you're apparently highly rated (Rich), then hire some decent customer service reps. And if you're going to change outrageous fees, FINE! But at least treat your customer right and waive one every once and a while. That's how you keep a customer paying. All you do is keep the customer mad and squeeze every little penny you can get out of each and every person you lend to. In my last words, I say, APPLIED BANK ** OFF!

I had no choice but to file for bankruptcy. In an attempt to rebuild my credit, I applied for several credit cards. I was approved by Applied Bank and had a $350 credit limit. I activated the card and used it one time for a cash advance. When I received my first statement, the annual fee, activation fee, cash advance fee, and interest cost me nearly $250 and drove me $1 over my credit limit, in which I was charged a $35 over-limit fee. I tried to dispute and they refused but said that I could close my account. I closed the account, but they said in order to get an accurate payoff, I would make a payment over the phone at a cost of $29. Otherwise, interest charges will continue. I made my first payment in a timely manner, and they said that they did not receive it by the due date and I was charged a $35 late fee.

It's impossible to get a customer service rep on the line, and the first two I talked to hung up on me for no reason. The third was very helpful and gave me a fax number to send my proof of payment for a payment dispute, but the number continues to reject my fax. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I paid $500.00 deposit. I had my account for 2 months and paid $150.00 online - minimum payment was $30.00. They still haven't applied my payment. When you call them, it takes 20 minutes to get through to a live person, and then you can't understand them and they are very rude. They don't seem to understand you are their customer and they don't try to help you at all. And their fees should be against the law. Don't get this card!

I applied for an Applied Bank Card last year and this was the worst mistake I have ever made. Their rates are high; they charge fees for possessing the card and using the card. Each time I make a payment, it seems that I owe even more the following month. I have been making payments hoping to pay this damn card off, but it keeps getting higher and higher. I will pay this card off and shred the damn thing as soon as possible. A company like this should not still be in business. People, beware of the outrageous fees!

I currently possess a secured credit card from Applied Bank which means, every week, I would post money to the account for the following week's usage. This I have been doing for more than 6 months. Our last big transaction was for a month's rental from Budget Car Rentals for which our total was $694. This payment wasn't a problem for us because we made routine payments weekly via Western Union payment method. From the dates in question, the available amount we currently have in the account is not adding up and each representative we speak with gives us a different answer. When I reached out to the department and questioned my online statement, the following day, my statement was removed.

Last Friday, we spoke with a rep who told us that he saw in the system that credit was due to us and that we would be reimbursed on Saturday. On Saturday, there were no funds allotted to the account and the customer service for Applied Bank was not open (it's not open on a Sat. or Sun.). I just need some clarification on my account and the variance of $200 that is currently an issue for anyone on their staff to explain proficiently to me.

I requested the card back in Dec (online). The card came in early Jan. Online it said that upon activation, the fees would be due within 30 days. In Feb I received a statement for fees, but I never activated the card. I did not think twice about it until Mar when I started noticing the phone calls and the emails stating that I was late on my payments. I spoke to CS. The rep stated that because I had not activated the card and no charges had been made, they would cancel the card and I would no longer have to worry about anything. The calls kept coming. I spoke to someone else and they said that the account was canceled but I still have a balance of over $200 that I never activated.

They charge really high fees for everything. Even paying your bill has a huge fee on top of it. The website is impossible and requires an insane amount of steps just to log back in. If you accidentally get this card, just pay it off now, close it out and be done with them. Don't ever get caught with a card like this again.

I had an Applied Bank visa. I never went over my limit but when I made my payment, they kept adding their fee, which pushed me over my limit. Then they wanted a bigger monthly payment now. I also got a refund for an item which should have counted towards my payment. When I made my payment, should have made an overage, but that never happened. They said it was still behind so I closed my account. I am still behind and they still are charging the high fees, which are against the credit card reform act the president signed. Someone should file a class action lawsuit against them.

I made a $1,000 security deposit in 2011 to get an Applied Bank Visa credit card. I made all payments early and was never late. I cancelled my card in Feb. 2013 and requested a refund of my $1,000 deposit. Applied Bank sent me a letter stating that my money would be refunded within 30 days of my final payment (my final payoff date was Feb. 17, 2013). I have received no refund! They ignore me! They are a scam! I am filing a complaint with Delaware Office of Consumer Protection. Avoid Applied Bank!

I was going to use my Applied Credit to rent a car. I changed my mind and cancelled the rental. I didn’t pick up the rental car. I was told by the rental company that if I don't pick up rental car, even if I don't cancel the reservation, there will be no authorization amount put on my credit. The rental company put an authorization on anyway! I had the rental company call the credit card department of Applied Bank to take it off. They sent a fax over to have the authorization taken off twice and also called Applied customer service twice. I was told by Applied Bank that all authorizations would have to stay on the Applied credit card for 14 days, even if the authorization was put on in error.

Normally, if a merchant notifies a credit card company the charge was done in error, it will be removed immediately, not with Applied Credit Card. The normal authorization takes 3 to 5 days to drop off, not with Applied Bank. They are not looking out for their customer. There is no excuse to hold a customer's funds for 14 days. Why? So, if your Applied Card is charged in error, you have to wait 14 days to have access to your money again. The first opportunity I get, I will drop Applied Bank. If you ask to speak to a supervisor, they will tell you none is available. They have very poor customer service. They do not care about their customers.

My credit limit is $500. I had a balance of $499 as of my on time payment in Jan. 2013. I did not use the card at all during the next billing cycle. Then they called me 3 times on the weekend to inform me that I was now $110 over my credit limit. I looked up the laws of the 2009 credit card reform that President Obama put into effect. Applied Bank is not following the law. The law states that an over the limit fee cannot exceed $25 yet Applied charges $35. They also charged me an inactivity fee which is also illegal under that new law. They also use their monthly service fee to put you over your limit so they can charge you $35. The woman who called me was quite rude and spoke in such an Arabic accent I could hardly understand her.

I am searching desperately for another card to absorb my balance and cease to do business with Applied. They rig your account so you can never get it paid off. Somebody needs to take action against them. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and I am filing a complaint on this site. Applied has 276 complaints against them for the exact same thing I have experienced.

I have been paying $70.35 a month faithfully on this card almost a year. I never go over my limit. Now they say on the recording on the phone that I have $805 balance with $55 overdrawn. Now, the statement says I have $785 balance with $35 overdrawn. I can’t get anyone to answer the phone. I am tired of them and want to stop paying them; I live in Tennessee. Why isn't anyone suing this company after all these complaints?

I tried to check my account online. First, I put in the username, then I had to put in for an ID code which was to be text message, but it never arrived. After I tried this mode several times, I called for a person via customer service (balance, etc., pres 0 for customer service rep) but it takes you back to balance and you never get anyone. Then I finally get a rep who insists that I repeat the same steps and by the time you get a new password and I.D., the code also has expired, and you get so angry you want to shoot the whole damn computer and rip anything named Applied! What a ** farce it all is. Unfortunately, we're the ones getting the ulcers! Applied laughs all the way to the bank! I hate them!

Okay, I have more than a few secured cards trying to rebuild my credit and keep my payment history clean. This company is horrid. If it wouldn't ding my credit cancelling the account, I'd cancel in a heartbeat. Their customer service agents are nearly impossible to contact. I didn't know about the monthly fee on the card. It was most likely in the fine print though. But the worst offense is I pay my balance off monthly and they hold the funds for nearly a week before I can utilize them. Oh yeah and they charge $30 for an authorized cardholder. I do not like this company at all. Do not use them. There are better, more reliable cards!
