Larry of Memphist TN (12/03/08)
They claimed that I owe them 945.86 and i fear that is not me and this may ruin my credit/score. They sent this past due amount to a collection agency and this the 3rd time i've went thru this over and over again.

Corey of Tuckahoe, NY November 21, 2008

Corey of Tuckahoe NY (11/21/08)
I applied for an Cross country bank card on Jan 8, 2002. several days later I notified the company and advised then to close my credit card accound, whitch there was only a 50.00 credit limit. Due to the out regious fee the credit card would not be good for me to keep. I was in College at the time. Several Months later I applied for another credit card, and I was denied, I was able to obtain a credit report and noticed cross county bank on my credit report. I immedieatly contacted them and discussed with them about them showing up on my credit report as a charge off. I was told to me for the few days I obtained my account it was over 200.00 for a 50.00 credit limit.

Recently on November 20, 2008 I received a letter Stating I owe Cross County Bank the total amount of 723.20. this company is inpossible, they are rude and totally unprofessional. That account was closed on Jan 12, 2002. It seems like a scam to me, I need this off of my credit, and will take the nessary steps to do so.

This has damaged my credit report, and has caused a great deal of stress to me.

I have tried to get them to re-use 2 checks that were received last spring that they mailed out on 1/10/02 and 6/10/02 due to late delivery of the postal service I did not recieve these checks until last spring.

The first letter dated 1/10/02 only contained a check stub (no actual check) for CBR-credit balance refund in the amount of 197.58, the second letter dated 06/10/02 was for ACR- auto credit balance refund in the amount of 62.70 that stated the chwas void after 90 days of issue. I have been patient up to now and have already contacted an attorney about this. The total amount is 260.28.

C of Decaturville TN (10/18/08)
I received a 200 credit limit from CCB in/around 1998-99. No matter how much I paid them, the rate kept rising and late fees and other penalties were applied. I spent hours on the phone, arguing with reps.

When I was laid-off, I sent in the documents for unemployment insurance and heard nothing about it. They harassed me on the phone for months, calling as many as 10 times/day. I informed them that is illegal in TN. They said it didn't matter because they weren't calling from TN. I told them it DID matter because they were calling INTO TN.

A balance of maybe 50 ballooned into a sum of 990. I disputed the amount on my credit report several years back because I did not know who Applied Bank is, but it stayed on there. Since I never received anything from the company, I assumed it was some mistake, but could never find out more about it and left it alone. I am on Disability, so even though it ruined my credit, I was able to find housing through the state and did not worry with it; since I never heard from anyone, I figured it would eventually disappear.

Now, some 10 years later, I am being taken to court - IN A COUNTY IN WHICH I HAVE NEVER EVEN LIVED! - for this 990.00 balance I do not owe. Applied Bank is Cross Country Bank, aka CCB, and probably a host of other names.

They did not (and cannot) provide me with proof of this debt and tried to deceptively reaffirm the account, which they were unable to do.

I plan to countersue them in the county to which I must travel 3 hours to face court. Can I also sue them here - in my home county - for breach of contract, harassment, fraud, and all of the FDIC laws they have broken/ignored?

Gail of Arizona City, AZ October 11, 2008

Gail of Arizona City AZ (10/11/08)
I received a call yesterday from a lady at First National collection agency about a visa card I am supposed to have with cross country Bank. She tells me I owe them 1046.00 and I haven't made a payment since November of 2002. The thing is I have never had a visa card with cross country and it is on my credit report now. I asked her why I have never received a statement for this card; she didn't know. She says I need to call them with any questions. So now she wants payment for an account I have never had. She had my address, my phone' my social security and I don't know where she got them but I do not intend to pay this until it can be proven it is mine which will never happen So now I have a bad report for a card I never had
