I have a Chase Manhatten credit card. It is at zero BAlance, None, Zip, Nada. I get a post card in the mail congratulating me that I Qualify for their Prestige Card services, for which I will be charged 79.00, and Oh, By the way, you can OPT OUT of it if you call us in time, otherwise you'll be automaticaly enrolled to a Prestige crad upgrade and automatially charged the fee. I lost the Post card with the decline info on it. Well, they charged me.

When I called up the Credit card customer cervice, They say they showed I agreed to a Prestige card upgrade, which, by the way, is up 20 dollars from last years attempt at this scam. I, in no certain kind words informed them that I did not want thier upgrade and to credit it to my card, the 79.00 dollar charge they so willingly charged me, reminding them that what this amounts to is a SLAM operation. If I Want their Prestige account, I'll ASK for it, not the other way around! This is a stealth Money leak program, and since I do not used the card often, there's absolutely NO VALUE, in their Prestige program for me, anyway. We need to introduce REGULATION LAWS THAT KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING.

I suggest that we compose a law that states that if ANY upgrade or charge is offered, the customer must CLEARLY OPT-IN for it, not be required to OPT-OUT. We'll see just how well thier Recinding of charges system works. Since it's supposed to show within 2-3 businesss days, or: Surprise: 1-2 BILLING CYCLES. Guess what is going to happen folks? Well we'll see. I'll update everyone as the screw turns, so to speak. I think this is a version of automatic Slamming, and needs to be stopped with a class action Lawsuit. Are there any going on now that I can join?

A Stealth charge of 79.00 for an automatic Opt-in of a Prestige card upgrade.

I purchased TV and stand from circuit city (cc) and signed up for their credit card so I would be eligible for the 18 months no interest and payments promotion they were running. CC submitted paperwork to chase that had incorrect information on it, so that chase thought I had defaulted. So at this point chase was calling me trying to collect late payments plus interest. I contacted CC and tole them what was occurring, and they sent chase the paperwork they had requested to correct the problem.

Well then Chase declined the paperwork and said they needed documents from CC corporate. Well CC corporate had not done that so Chase is still hounding me. Seriously they call up to 6times a day (isn't that harassment?). They will not listen to what they are told regardless of whom you speak with and they refuse to deal directly with CC to resolve the situation.

Consequences: My credit score going to be affected which upsets me the most, harassment from the phone calls, my time they waste, and the extra money they think I owe them, now I am in debt

There is nothing wrong with Chase. Most credit card companies send a customer agreement with a card. People get into trouble because they do not read the agreement and make silly mistakes. Nobody is to blame but the card user... plain and simple.

I made a 10 day late payment and my interest rate went from 11.9% to 29%. My payment went from 220 to 680 a month. Also, due to the increase in %, the interest accrued for the month was over 300. This brought me over my limit, which went on credit report. They charged me 39 for late fee and then 39 for overlimit fee. This was no fault of mine and Chase refused to drop any of the fees they charged me.

My credit has been effected by this. My payment is now over 600. APR will not be lowered by any agent.

Chase visa keeps putting my acct. on hold with out telling me. I go to use the card and it gets denied, its very embarrassing. They say there is suspicious activity, it is bs, no big items were purchased, I have had the card for 17 years, now all of a sudden there is suspicious activity. NOT HAPPY
