Elaine of Middleton, WI January 1, 2009

Elaine of Middleton WI (01/01/09)
McAfee Total Protection 2009 was offered via e-mail for 79,95 with a 30 rebate if ordered in September. I ordered on September 30, and received a confirmation of my order, submitted my request on the internet form provided, and received an acknowledgment from McAfee Direct Division that my submission for rebate had been received and telling me that I could access the status of my submission during processin.

My first inquiry told me that my submission would be considered around Nov. 22. When that date came and went, I tried again. Then I was told that a new search had been initiated and I had to re-submit all the information. This is bogus, of course, since all the transactions had been by internet and e-mail, and they had all the information they needed.

However, I did re-submit and wait again. The next time I tried to send an inquiry, when I entered the 30 figure, a statement in red appeared, invalid amount, and the transmission would not go. I have not received my rebate. I am out 30 that I expected to receive. I will not buy McAfee products again, nor deal with Winferno.

I purchased McAfee Internet Security 2009 3 user pack and received 30 rebate. The check was deposited a month ago. Today I received a notice from the bank that the rebate check was returned due to Stop Payment. Attempt to contact McAfee by phone, chat or e-mail but was unsuccessful.

Not only I did not get the rebate of 30 but also 7 fee for the returned check.

We purchased McAfee Internet Security Suite from McAfee/Winferno Software as a download and received a form for a 20 rebate which we processed and received notice tht the rebates was processed adn that the check had been maild. When the check arrive we deposited it, only to now have gotten a notice fromour bank that the rebate check has had a Stop Payment applied to it and the back has withdrawn the 20 rebate plus an 8 service fee.

The contact phone number on the rebate confirmation is an answering system that won't take input, and the Winferno customer service number requires sales information that we had deleted by accident. Can't get a hold of a real person anywhere to talk to and McAfee customer service has not returned an email inquiry. We feel we have been ripped-off

We are out the 20 rebate and it has cost us an 8 bank fee to add insult to injury.

Purchased a renewal to our McAfee online. Submitted ALL rebate info. including the previous purchase info that was also purchased online. Received the standard email that the rebate request could not be honored because Proof of previous ownership is required to receive the rebate.

I DID submit all form and made copies prior to mailing. EVERY year they pull this scam. Unforunatly for me, I usually don't follow up.
