For the past 3 months or so I'm getting billed by AT&T; even though I never had a formal contract with them in any way at all. A few calls had been made on my side to solve the problem but always same result -- nothing gets done. Last conversation that we had they want to reach an agreement so I could pay 1/2 of the account.

Now after 15 months of being billed for a service I never used, even according to their records I never used it or signed up for it they're getting paid for 9 months of services I didn't use or sign up for. This is disgraceful and disgusting.
This took me off of my work for more than 2 hours to sort this out. I am self-employed in a new business and have just been robbed by AT&T.; I am stressed out and have been talked to terribly by all reps with AT&T; including the manager. They have access to bills so apparently they can just add to billing whenever they want.

Have talked with BellSouth and AT&T; trying to resolve the problem and be credited back the money. BellSouth says they can't because I truly owed them. AT&T; says their policy states that they can only credit me what I paid the other company; however, what I paid SBC is more than what I paid AT&T.; Because it is more, AT&T; claims they cannot credit me back more than I paid them. They also state they cannot just credit back the amount paid to them.

When I call the 1-800 number I never seem to be able to talk to anyone who speaks English I can understand. All the customer service agents seem to be from another country and sorry, but I can't understand them. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I alway have to go through the drill "am I over 18", "what's my telephone number" - when I give them the number their response is "that's not an AT&T; serviced number" - yeah - I know.
Today, I went through this mess again. I call, talk to someone I can barely understand, and then after I answer all the questions and explain the situation they alway offer to fix the problem - but it's never fixed! I keep getting these bills for a number I don't have and the REALLY sad part is - AT&T;'s records show that I haven't been a customer in over two years. Then they tell me the $7.56 is for a past due bill! It can't be! Over the last two years I guess I've paid over $150.00 to AT&T; for a service they are not providing to me! AND - to top it all off, everytime I call, they have the gall to ask me if I want to SWITCH service to AT&T; for 7 cents a minute!! Unreal! I wouldn't switch to AT&T; if they gave it to me free!

I received a bill from AT&T; for $27.00 and nothing to tell me what it was for and on top of that I have never authroized them to ever be my long distance carrier plus it was fro a phone number I haven't had for several months now. I tried to contact a live person thru their toll-free number but after 45 minutes of hearing their recordings I hung up and went thru the internet to contact them. I later got an e-mail from them stating that they will adjust my next bill so we'll see -- but what a joke AT&T; is ... totally useless this company is.

Within a few months I received another bill for a one-minute call to my in-laws. Again, although I was surprised the connection could be made to AT&T;, I paid the bill concerned that my husband may have misdialed. The one-minute charge totaled nearly $8. I have received a bill each month since then. I began keeping record of the people I have spoken to each month at AT&T; trying to explain I do not use their service, but a MCI long distance calling card. In January, I spoke to Ashley, on February 13, 2004, I spoke to Jabby, and on March 17, 2004, I spoke to a woman who indicated there was no supervisor for me to speak to, but promised a supervisor or manager would return my call. I am still waiting. Now I am receiving late notices about my AT&T; long distance service! I have spoken to my local carrier, Bell South, the last two months and am assured that AT&T; is not listed as my long distance provider. Yet every month I spend over a half hour on the phone in aggravation about bills that to continue to come.

AT&T; is trying to charge me for a bill that they can't send me a copy of. All I ask is that they send me something showing what I'm paying for. Instead they have placed a block on my phone. But that's OK because I have another company for my local and long-distance calls, so I'm not missing out on anything.

Recently I received a statement from AT&T; for Dec 2003-March 2004 monthly service charges. I had not used AT&T; for long distance since 2002, and I had not received any statement from AT&T.; I called AT&T; and spoke to a nice person. He told me that the reasons I received a bill was because my account with AT&T; was still alive (but not acitve) even though I had switched to another long distance carrier for over two years, and I did not disconnect my account from AT&T.; Starting 2004 AT&T; is billing all accounts, including non-active accounts for monthly recurring fees.

AT&T; "slammed" me. I never did give them any permission to change my service from my prefered telephone long distant company which I have been using for the past year and a half. I told them that I will be willing to pay the amount of $32.32 if they can prove to me that I signed or agreed with it (Nov-Dec 2003). And they have not called me to show this proof, because I'm sure they do not have any. And I have written to them two times for this proof. Now they have sent to collection.

They just kept billing me and blaming Verizon. I refused to pay the bill, so they put it on my credit report. When I went to lease some equipment for business it showed up. I was told if did not pay it I would not get the lease. So I was forced to pay them. I asked how do you bill a closed account, I got no answer but pay them.
