Russell of Kawkawlin MI (03/11/09) The company called me and I explained to them that the payment was on the way. the got payment which was paid in full. Then they decided charge be a late fee and they would not let up calling they called every day it seems to me they just seem to do whatever they want to be one charge a late fee after the payments are they doing to get away with it. They don't seem to care someone should put a stop to their business practices shown
Taimeka of Snellville, GA March 8, 2009
Taimeka of Snellville GA (03/08/09) I have been trying to contact someone at Finger Hut for the past year. I used them once. I ordered a futon and mattress. The futon came in 4 shipments and then there were still pieces missing. It was unfinished and looked like someone just cut the frame in the back yard. I complained but paid off the bill in full. About 3 years later, I get a collection notice stating that I owe over 600 to Fingerhut. I didn't even order 600 worth of merchandise and it was all paid off. I have called, sent letters, and sent certified letters to get Finger Hut to substatiate this bill. I have recieved no answer.
Meanwhile, they continue to report to the credit agencies that I am deliquent. I am thinking about taking legal action against them due to their failure to adhere to the regulations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This is such a burden. I really have much better things to do with my time! Do not buy from them. Go to a local dealer who will work with you just as well as Finger Hut. Only with a local dealer, you can get to their business directly and speak face to face with those with whom you purchase.
The negative blemish to my credit report is preventing me from getting a rental home with a reputable management company. I just refuse to pay an enormous down payment due to misinformation on my report.
Antonio of Eastdundee, IL March 4, 2009
Antonio of Eastdundee IL (03/04/09) I lost my job just this past Jan I was self employed so I can not apply for unemployment benefits. I spoke with a rep from finger hut her name is Pat on 03-03-09 about my lates on my account which I am not disputting that. Prior to this I have been a on time customer for 2 years when it comes to my payments . well she suggested I sell some of my things to get the money to bring my account up to date I was outraged that anyone would make a suggestion like that.I don't know if that is a crime but it surely is unethical I told them I am looking for a job and that is all I can do.
Catherine of Sunrise Beach, MO February 24, 2009
Catherine of Sunrise Beach MO (02/24/09) I have two complaints. One is the merchandise I bought two years ago. The
microwave began to send out sparks one day and that was the end. The vacume I
purchased has been repaired, in fact it is currently in the repair shop. Neither item was treated roughly or used inappropriately.
The second involves how Fingerhut treats it's customers regarding their bill. I was paying regularly on my bill until I had a job change, from full-time work to part-time. I tried a bill payment group but was unable to continue the almost 500 to stay on the plan. At that point I decided bankruptcy was my only course. Through all of this, Fingerhut was informed of what was happening. Because of the cost of the lawyer and the fact he will not file until competely paid, I have not yet filed. Fingerhut calls the place I live anytime between 9am & 9pm, and on weekends. When I am not home my elderly Mother or Stepfather will answer and relay the message to me.
I have agreed to pay 20 a month until the bill is paid, or the bankruptcy filed. They have been cashing the checks which to me signals they agree with the payment, but they want payment in full, which is over 400. I cannot pay in full. They are very rude to my relatives, and recently when I talked to a Fingerhut representative, they interupted me several times. I eventually just told them to shut up and let me do the talking for a change.
They appear to not understand the concept of customer service. And you cannot reach the same person who calls, when you return those calls. A lot of time no notation is made of a returned call. And no correspondence by mail has been acknowleged.
