Fingerhut

mary of denver, CO July 10, 2009

I have been receiving many phone calls from fingerhut as I have been behind in my payments due to the illness of my mother. They have to be the rudess people on the planet. I have sent over 5 letters to cease all phone calls as I an trying to get my collections caught up and they start call as early as 0730. They constantly tell me that they will not stop calling and the imature little boy I just spoke with actually stated that..... "my mother took the right route in dying so she would not have to deal with me!" The funny thing is that God had delivered my mother and she has fully recovered. What this imature little man has realize is that in marking my mother, he may in fact marked his own! I did promise him that I am making sure that my other 3 collections in the rear will be totally paid before I even consider anything with fingerhut and my bill is less than 100.00.

Kimberly of Covina, CA July 9, 2009

I purchased a norton virus protection for my Desktop computer. Once I received it my computer had alread had an virus so I unhooked everything. I was preparing to send the virus protection back. I found the return slip and seen that the 30 days was almost up so I called on Tuesday 7/7/2009 to inform the representative that I was just making sure that the time hadn't expired to send it back.

The representative explained to me that if the product was opened that I couldn't return it. I told him that it was not open because my computer already had a virus so it was uplugged. He explained to me that I could still put the virus protection on the computer and that I didn't need to log on to the internet. I told him okay then I will try it. While trying to install the program it would only let me get to a certain point because I have to log onto the computer. I kept trying for a long period of time and would not let me go any farther without internet access.

I called fingerhut back and tried to explain to them the problem that I was having and of course since the box is know open there is nothing that they can do. I asked could I please speak to a supervisor because after 15 days I won't be able to install the program at all and I don't have anything to install it on. The representative told me that the supervisors were off and that they would give me a call tomorrow. which was Wednesday 7/9/2009. I never received such a call.

I call this morning and of course there is nothing that they can do for me. So I am out of about 75.00 because the program is opened because I believed what one of there representatives told me and after the 15 days the program will no longer be able to be down loaded on anything. I don't have an extra computer and if I did I am not sure if it would work since I have already put in the numbers on my computer at home. I don't care if I don't get anything out of this I just don't like the fact of how it was done.

The supervisor also said that they are not technicians. Well that is something she should be telling her employees because I had felt like the employee new what he was talking about or else I wouldn't have tried it. They kept trying to explain about the program being open. I am fully aware that you are not allowed to open software and then return it. Initially the software wasn't opened until I fell for one of the representatives tall tales.

Well... this lovely company is a total joke. I ordered a fondue set and a pond from them in August of 2008 never received my products, so in September I emailed them asking where my items were because I was getting billed already and still had no products. They said I recieved them! I was like no I did not so, I emailed them back and they sent a email to contact customer service, as I was getting ready to contact them they call me go figure, So I had to deal with a complete moran who was rude, I explained I never got anything. He then tells me they were delivered so I said where were they delivered because I do not have any of my items so please explain where they are at.

He tells me to check my back door because if they are not at the front door they must have been left in the back I started laughing and said yeah I would love to see the UPS guy jump my fence with 3 large dogs in the back yard are you kidding me, he got rude with me and said he will not be talked to like that he hung up on me! So the calls have been non stop all day long, all night long so early in the morning on the weekends it is insane I explain and get no where. So back in the middle of October I come home from work and see a open package on my front lawn, it's the fondue set... Broken! So of course they call me looking for payment i said I finally recieved my broken fondue set what are you going to do about it, they state nothing but you need to make a payment I said I have to pay for that and you won't do anything about it they said no because it has been 3 months and no payment. I was pissed to put it nicely.

Then they proceeded to let me know that once I give my credit card number to them they will charge for the other item per month until paid for. I said hell no I will not pay anything until I get an answer on where my pond is at!!!! So I email and email and kept on emailing plus talking to these people only to repeat myself numerous times about this situation. I even asked teh neighbors if they saw or had my packages and of course no they didn't. Now I get a call from the collection department to settle so I explain the situation yet again only for her to tell me. They have no record of them talking to me! I am just livid. I said are you kidding me, you people call everyday all day and there is no record of it come on! So she tells me she can settle with me I said are you kidding me I am paying for something I never received and you guys screwed up and didn't write anything in your stupid little computers?

The lady from the collection Dept said she will work with me I said oh how sweet that is considering I have been battling this since september of 2008, I said it isn't working with me that is the problem, I can pay for the items. The problem is I never got them! Well I got the fondue set finally 3 mths later broken. So I said I will never shop with fingerhut ever again she chuckles and says well I am sorry but you will not be able to shop with us again. All I can say is this company is a joke their customer service reps are a joke, they are just plain rude and stupid. Beware shopping with this place and yes I just got stuck paying for a broken fondue set and no pond! But she was really nice to knock off 125.00 from the balance! This was just a horrible experience.

I was reviewing all three of my credit reports through Equifax. On the inquiry statements there were 17 inquiries made by Fingerhut Credit in the last 6 months, some were done twice in the same month. This is wrong and violation of my privacy, it also violates the credit inquiry act. Because these inquiries stay on the report for 12 months it has lowered my score considerably for no reason other than to harass my credit file.

I want to know who is making these inquiries on behalf of Fingerhut because the number listed on the Equifax inquiry does not work. I am eventually going to sue the bastards. I have no intention of buying anything from this company and have never applied for credit from them. This has to stop now.

Fingerhut continuiouly calls me,for a payment that I don't have. They call me on weekends,at night, early morning. These calls are making me very uneasy and stressed. I spoke with someone on Sunday;5-3-09,and ask that they not call me anymore and that I do not have the money to pay them at this time. The representive stated that she will continue to to call even if I didnot have the money.I have a record of every time they called. I can not pay these people at this time. I have ask them not to call. They will not stop.

Brenette of Lancaster, CA April 7, 2009

Brenette of Lancaster CA (04/07/09)
Items were ordered from Fingerhut and at time of the order the address that was given to Fingerhut was ------  Lancaster,CA. After the order didn't arrive at the aforementioned address,I then placed numerous phone calls to inquire regarding the status of the order. Fingerhut responded that the items were in the process of being sent. Several more calls were made to check the status of the order, and each time Fingerhut's response was that the item had been shipped and delivered.

Fingerhut's customer's service said that according to the tracking number the items had been delivered. When I asked to have the shipping address confirmed, I was told that it was shipped to ------ pl Lancaster, Ca. This address is not the shipping address that was given to Fingerhut at the time of the order. The address that the items were shipped was a previous residence that I moved from in August 2008 (a change of address form was completed in the same month). The order was placed in December 2008.

I was then told to contact FedEx the delivery. FedEx confirmed that the order had been delivered to ----- pl Lancaster, CA. To this date Fingerhut insist that the items were shipped and received. The new residents that live at ------- pl said that a package was delivered and placed on the porch, but was not accepted, and was gone a few days later. Fingerhut has refused to give a refund or send new merchandise. The total cost of the merchandise was 473.88 After moving and before this incident other orders had been delivered to the correct address. To date Fingerhut claims that they have met their delivery obligations

Fingerhut has received payment on items they did not deliver to the correct address. Several weeks of calls with poor customer service and the loss of 473.88 A

Dorothy of Patchogue, NY April 6, 2009

Dorothy of Patchogue NY (04/06/09)
I received a letter from CitBank/c/o Fingerhut, stated Credit notice. The letter states, Dear Dorothy, A credit review of credit accounts issued by CIT Bank was recently completed to see if a credit line adjustment is needed. As a result, some credit limits are being reduced. This letter is to inform you that the credit limit on your Fingerhut Credit Account issued by CIT Bank has been reduced to 0.00 and your account has been closed. Our decision was affected by the following attributes: Too many inquiries in the past 6 months and Insufficient time as a Fingerhut customer.

I called the credit department and was told that it's in my agreement that they can cancel my account at any time. I had a 0 balance with them and had just paid them off and I only had 135.00 credit limit. First of all I have too many inquiries because I was shopping around for a car and I was with them for 6 months. I think it's bull and they said theres nothing I could do about it. I didn't do anything wrong made all my payments on time. I just wanted to let the public know what there doing. The credit department stated there going through all there accounts. I think its unfair and unjust, atleast decline me for something that really counts...there over priced anyway.
