I had an appointment with Dish yesterday and he arrived earlier than expected, which is fine, he was here to change to the new system and change out the disc outside. He started and couldn’t get the new system to work properly so he changed the receiver again and this time it started working. It got almost halfway and stopped. He tried different things and always kept his cool. He undid everything and moved to another area and still couldn’t get it to work right. Got to a spot and it would stop. The old dish needed to be upgraded so out he’d go and apologize for the now 3 hours into it. After 6 hours of his working and not accomplishing any thing he called his supervisor who was about 30 minutes out. An hour later he came and he helped the guy change out the dish, and new inside equipment. Come to find out the guy that was here all day was his second day on outside jobs. He was a computer guy and never done house jobs.

The second guy was an experienced technician and got everything up and running in about 2 hours. After all was said and done the new guy was staying to put in new wires and remove the old ones. He installed the old but NEVER took the old ones out. Just unplugged them and left them hanging. Where the dish had been replaced there was stuff all over the dirt and concrete from the install. Maybe the new guy should have had an older installer to help him from the very start.

Very rude and nonprofessional foreign customer service. They all say they are from Utah. But can't tell you the city. They are "offshore" for sure. When your contract runs out, bill goes up with no notification. To drop your bill, you have to resign a contract. Crooked. Contacting my installer service today. Tired of all the crap, same shows on different channels and a stupid show about how the owners made it so successful. Lame. Also they are connected to highs net. They get ya.

I called to cancel my DISH service because the cost has become too high for the limited viewing options, especially since we have several TVs in our home. I decided to switch to YouTube TV, which is significantly less expensive, offers more flexibility, and doesn’t require a long-term commitment or cancellation fee. Unfortunately, my biggest issue ended up being the cancellation process itself. DISH will not allow you to simply cancel online, so you are forced to call. Once you do, the representative will not simply process the cancellation. Instead, you have to spend roughly 30 minutes going through attempts to convince you to change your mind. The representative was also very difficult to understand, which made an already frustrating process even worse.

After being a loyal DISH customer for 14 years, I was extremely disappointed to be charged a $400 cancellation fee. After that many years of loyalty, I expected much better treatment. I also discovered another concerning issue after having the DISH satellite removed from my house. The installer had never properly grounded the dish. Proper grounding is an important safety requirement, so finding that it had apparently never been done was very concerning.

I really wanted to leave DISH with a good experience and 14 years of good memories. Unfortunately, the cancellation experience and $400 fee completely changed that. Because of this experience, I will also be cancelling my mom’s DISH service and switching her to YouTube TV. I cannot recommend DISH to anyone based on how they treated a longtime customer.

We had Dish for over 10 years, we are rural so not a lot of options, it became so expensive and didn’t watch most of the channels, never did we get a ‘loyal customer ‘ discount or anything. We decided to cancel, it wasn’t until going to cancel they wanted to offer stuff..,, too little too late! Then you have to pay for the box to ship equipment, numerous calls later they finally sent it, then you have to call again just to get your 339 back for your equipment, time on phone with endless automated loops basically pennies on the dollar. Never again, don’t miss it at all! I feel like they make it so hard to cancel you get tired and give up. They probably toss their outdated equipment in the landfill.

I called to cancel my service at the beginning of June 2026. I was having signal issues that the technician could not resolve, and the monthly fee was just too high. The customer service guy, Edward, told me he would cancel my service but give me one month for free in case I changed my mind. I told him I would not change my mind, as the signal was poor. As it turns out, he did not cancel my service, and I was charged for June, July, and will be charged for August, as I just cancelled on August 5. I am so aggravated and annoyed. The customer service man is spoke with today, Josh, kept me on the phone for 30 minutes, trying to talk me into another lower-cost plan. He finally canceled my plan, and now I’m being charged $25 for a box to send the equipment back. Never again, Dish!

We got Dish November 2025. It’s July 2026 now. It never worked. Several times daily our dvr wouldn’t load. We swapped Hoppers 4 times. Finally we decided to cancel, hoping early termination fee would be waived. Monday they said they’d waive it if they sent one more tech out. Of course the problem couldn’t be duplicated while the tech was here. The problem started again late Thursday. Friday we called, they said they’d send another tech out because it worked while the Wednesday tech was out. I told the manager we were told Monday they’d waive the fee the next time it stopped working and we can’t keep skipping work and what not for tech visits. He literally said, “what are you doing now? Trying to watch tv.” They cancelled the service, but wouldn’t waive the fee. For a service that never properly worked. Then said they’d charge extra if we didn’t get on the roof and send in a part from the satellite dish.

I've been with Dish for several years. A very loyal customer! The customer service is TERRIBLE most of time. There are a few good ones occasionally, but today was the last straw! I called about ANOTHER rate increase. The packages get worse and worse. The customer service representatives always tell you something different. You have to pay a premium price just to get the 3 channels you actually watch. And the person I talked to "transferred" me and pretended to be someone else!! I'll be canceling as soon as my contract is up to avoid the early termination fee. That was unbelievable! I wish I would have read their TERRIBLE reviews before I even switched to them! They promised me a promotion that I would get after it "was approved" and after they promised me the promotion, they called me back to get a 5 star review! And then they never followed through with the promotion! I don't like writing bad reviews, but I've had enough.

BTW they offer phone service which I have had for 2years the first year they offered I signed up... now they are offering save unlimited offer that I have only 10$/mo cheaper than what I pay and will not give me that price even though my loyalty is what set the groundwork for them to be able to offer this lower price. And I'm never late on paying them. I have been a DISH customer for six years. During the first two years, I was very satisfied. It was less expensive than DirecTV, and I loved the features of the Hopper 3. Things started to change during my third year when I called to renegotiate my bill. I was quoted a price that seemed unbelievably low. I repeatedly asked the representative to clarify because I couldn’t understand how they could offer such a great deal. When my bill arrived, it was much higher than what I had been promised.

I ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. To DISH’s credit, a supervisor called me back after investigating the call. Luckily the supervisor was able to hear the recorded call and that was irrefutable proof that I was in fact telling the truth. He told me they confirmed the customer service representative had repeatedly misled me. Although they couldn’t match the original quote exactly, they came within about $10 of it, and I was satisfied with that resolution.

Recently, I called again to renegotiate my bill. I was honestly prepared to cancel my service because DISH already charges separately for local channels, and they had dropped NBC for months without offering customers any compensation. However, since NBC had finally been restored, I agreed to sign another two-year contract. The representative I spoke with this time was excellent. He was professional, friendly, gave me a great rate, and arranged for my satellite dish to be moved from the roof to the side of my house. My landlord had requested this after storm damage had torn the dish from the roof.

Unfortunately, that’s where my positive experience ended. The installers refused to mount the dish on the side of my house, insisting the signal wouldn’t be strong enough. This made little sense because my previous DirecTV dish had been mounted there for years without any reception problems. After a lengthy argument, I finally told them to install it wherever they believed would provide the best signal. They mounted it directly on the front of my house, where it is a major eyesore. Since I’m not a satellite installer, I trusted their judgment.

Then things got even worse. Years ago, I worked as a customer service supervisor for a cable company, so I’m very familiar with upselling. Every installer and customer service representative was encouraged to recommend additional products and services. These installers gave me a lengthy sales pitch for a $75 surge protector that they claimed would better protect my Hopper 3. They warned me that DISH might not cover damage if I didn’t purchase it.

I explained that I already paid for DISH Protect, which covers equipment damage. They insisted I didn’t have the “right” protection plan. Even though I recognized it as a sales pitch, I thought a professionally wall mounted surge protector for $75 might be worthwhile, so I agreed. That’s when the story changed. They brought in what appeared to be the same type of surge protector I already owned. After spending nearly 30 minutes explaining how professionally it would be mounted, they suddenly claimed it would actually “work better” simply plugged into the wall and sitting behind my TV on the stand.

At that point, I had lost my patience. I felt pressured and misled. I finally said, “I get it. You’re selling this because you earn a commission.” Both installers immediately insisted they earned no commission at all and that they were only looking out for my safety because they “love their customers.” I replied, “That’s too bad. If you had simply told me you worked on commission, I probably would have bought it. But if you don’t, then there’s no reason for me to replace the surge protector I already have.”

They immediately became flustered and started changing their explanation while continuing to pressure me to buy it. I finally ended the conversation by saying, “That’s enough. We’re done.” Since the new dish was installed on the front of my house (the same location they insisted was the only place with a reliable signal) my service has actually become far worse. The signal drops constantly. A little wind, a light rain, or virtually any storm causes interruptions. Ironically, the “best signal” location has given me the worst reliability I’ve experienced in six years. It’s disappointing because I genuinely used to recommend DISH. Today, between the billing issues, misleading sales tactics, poor installation experience, and unreliable service, I simply can’t recommend it anymore.

I have been with Dish since the late 90's, lots of changes but they were good and their price was unbeatable. I never expected their price to stay at the price I started with, everything cost more so naturally their price should reflect that. I have no idea how my name is on this agreement. I take care of mom, she is the one who decided to use Dish, I just pay the bill. I went in the hospital for 2 wks, mom has dementia, can't walk, and she knows not to talk to anyone about her bills without me being there.

After 2 weeks, I'm back and immediately I noticed changes. Different hardware such as the remote, different box so of course I asked. Mom didn't know so how did this happen, who at Dish let someone who has nothing but hate for us, change to a more expensive monthly price? No security questions were asked. I went back in the hospital, $6800 stolen, pistol stolen, a significant change in price for Dish, and a restraining order. I wasn't even there, so why? Over and done so I didn't change it. I use Dish and Boost, so I watched the story and thought bundling would save me money. I was denied, their response was that plan is not available to me. I had both services, disabled senior citizen, and I pay every month. I still have no clue as to why, but today the letter came explaining my contract is over, and I must sign up to avoid a price increase. I think it's obvious what I'm going to do.

However the equipment is old and I do pay monthly for it….Considering I’m paying 4 different rental fees and only have 3 Tvs currently, I cancelled it. Let’s see…I cost Dish $84 a year for rental because they refused to ship replacement free. I’ve paid that $7 for possibly 5 yrs and not needed it. Good for me. Bad for a huge corporation that thinks legacy customers will to pay.

Yes I am now looking at alternatives (unfortunately I can’t go to streaming because of my 90yo mother wouldn’t be able to figure it out). But hey there is other options out there that I will be looking at. As a former SBC/ATT customer service manager, I’ll say Dish you should be looking at retention at the initial customer service level.

Clunky menu with less than intuitive DVR features. The Voice Activation menu is also hit and miss. I would search INDY car and it would not find the live race! There is nothing beneficial about this service, especially after they bumped me for “being a loyal customer” to $159/mo. Then as a farewell gift, the CSR made me feel like a criminal for deleting my 3 years of their service subscription. I also lost 3 INDY car races due to “Contract Negotiations”. But I do appreciate the DISH parting gift, their Satellite Dish for the shooting range.

Worst company EVER! Removed local channels for months and kept blaming everyone but themselves. Customer for 20 years. Still charged early termination fees, return equipment, etc. Customer service rude flippant and just suck. Do not sign up with these losers or you'll most likely regret it. I see they just filed for bankruptcy to stiff their creditors. Great job from a deadbeat company! Go anywhere but with them. I sincerely hope they go out of business!!

I have had the Dish for 26 years. 10 years ago, I canceled my internet with them, and 10 years later, they are still billing me. When I called them to stop charging me and to credit my account. They will not credit my account even though they haven't offered that internet service for years. What a rip-off.

I have been with Dish for like 13 or more years, So long I don't remember for sure. They constantly are increasing my rate, even when they quote lock me in at a rate for 2 years it still goes up. The toper was I pay for a small basic programming and added on local package for 15 dollars a month, they had a price dispute and were not showing my channels, when I called in after waiting for an hour I got hung up on. Called back again and after another 45 min. they have me a 5 dollar credit. Lo and behold the programming issue continued on for a second month.

When I called back the next month they said no we will not do anything for you, we gave you 5 dollars last month. Congrats to me my contract is up only a few months after that so I called in to cancel, they transfer me to a specialist. He tried to sell me again on a 3 year lock. He wasn't listening and just kept trying to convince me to stay with them. Then he asked me to hold for a minute so I thought I was making progress, then after about a min and a half he just disconnected the call. No details, no explanation and dish is gone, didn't finish out the month or anything. Goodbye and good riddance!

Dish Network has to be the worst ** station on the planet. Shows the same ** every day. What a joke. I go through every channel and everything is outdated and just straight up sucks! Half the shows are from the 70's and 80's. This is 2026.

After having crappy service for probably close to a year, we decided we had their service beyond what we cared to deal with. 5+ years. So they are making us pay another bill after I paid the final bill. They charged us for a box, actually 2 boxes and we received 1, and label to return their crap. I took pictures because this ain't my 1st rodeo. Mind you, I have 2 shipping accounts for my own needs so this a crock of bovine scatology. We have not had service with them for 6 weeks at least, and they still sent a bill for service. DO NOT USE DISH! They said we were loyal customers, so you over charge and keep charging us for whatever you see fit?? If we were bad customers what would you do? Never ever again. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
