Eliza of Tracy CA (6/14/04):
I just bought a 2004 Odyssey and made my first payment on June 1, 2004. After 45 days of ownership, the back-bench seat folded and collapsed in the trunk hole with my 16 year old daughter's arm - from her elbow caught between the trunk and the seats. She was in there for over one hour.

Tracy Fire Department and Paramedics had to take the seat out from the bolt to free her arm. What concerns me also was the fact that they new exactly what to do and what size bolt and tools would take to open the seat, and where to remove the seat to free her. This was as if they worked for the Honda manufacturer or had done this several times before. Afterwards, they repaired the seat as if by Honda experts.

This leads me to believe that this has been happening without warnings to the consumers or recalling the vans to adequate install labels and warning to advert this situation. I am led to believe that a small child could be caught in the trunk hole also. There should be warnings that the seats could not be collapsed from inside and other information to make the product safe.

My daughter had to go to the ER and was x-rayed and seen by a doctor. She will miss few days of school because she has to take pills that will leave her drowsy. She is undergoing intense pains and is still traumatized. My three kids, including my daughter are afraid to get back into the van. As I mentioned I have only used this car for one month and still have 5 years of payments to make. I had to tear my garage door down for the medics to reach her.
