I have been having intermittent starting problems with my 2000 Impala. Just as previous complaints, it runs fine and then after it is off and parked it won't turn over. I have to press down on the gas pedal while turning the key and sometimes it will then start. My security light also goes on when I try to start the car. I have had the starter changed to no avail. Usually when I take it in to be serviced the car will start and they can't find out what is wrong. This is a very bothersome problem that I hope GM will address.

I bought a 2007 chevy impala. since I have had the car I put in a new computor, and now the alternater needs to be replaced. there is no warranty on the car because It had almost 18,000 miles on the car when I bought it. I know have 59,000 miles on my car because I work on the road sorry for the miles but I really do think there should of been a warranty on the vehicle. I was informed that since I bought the car as used there was only a limited warranty but I was informed after the computor went. the repairs on this car is starting to get out of control.

I am very dissatisfied about this. I have owned chevy;s for over 30 yrs. I would like very much if some one would call me about the situation on the car. now I am having truoble with the electical system very dissatisfied. also when I bought the car they were to repair the pasagers seat. they repair and It never lasted.

I had an intake manifold replaced on my 2001 Chevrolet Impala in Feb. 2008 and today the oil is leaking into my coolant again. The first repair cost me over 1000 and I'm looking at another repair for the same problem. Evidently the gasket is the problem and I cannot financially afford another repair at this time. I would appreciate any help that you could offer me. I am debating on selling this car as it is nickle and diming me to death now.

I have a 2003 Chevy Impala I have a security key lock problem sometimes car won't start then after trying to jump it still won't start wait a few minutes put in neurtral will start service says sensor and to just start there is 455.00 and that may not even help did not tell me what eventually it could cost. This is just the current problem brakes always need repair bought car brand new in 2003 has only 59,000 miles in six yrs but keep replacing brakes and tires G.M. will not address any of these issues. I don't think they will help anyone until someone gets killed on the side of the road because cars security is not reading key as for brakes forget it they are quite happy getiing 7-800.00 dollars every couple yrs.I will there were some kind of class action suit going i would gladly sign up

I have a chevy 2004 Impala. I had blown head gasket and cracked piston head. Also my speeddometer is going baserk. Does work right anymore. My brakes, my tires, my rotors and well over 5000 dollars worth of repairs on this car. I have less then 90,000 miles on this Hunk of junk. Dealership is making a killing off of me in the past two years. And they keep asking me to trade it in. Wonder why!

Alex of Minersville, PA April 29, 2009

I own a 2004 chevy Impala. I had to put in 5000 dollars with of repairs on this car since I have owned it new.It has less then 90,000 miles on it. I had a blown head gasket and a cracked piston head. Also many electrical problems and such. I have never in my life owned a car that cost me so much to fix. Sometimes I think the dealers I get my stuff repaired at is riggin my car to break down on me.

We own a 2001 Chevy Impala, nice looking car but too many problems. The car doesn't start on the first try. The engine light, airbag light, abs light, low tire pressure light all come on all the time. It's very scary because your not sure if something is really wrong or not! In order to have this checked the dealer wants 100 off the top. The turn signals work when they want to. We have already taken this car in because of the lights randomly coming on. We have about 90,000 miles on the car. We also have a Honda Accord that has 150,000 miles on it and we have never had any problems with the Honda. I think I'll stick with Honda's from now on!!!!!!!!

Jennifer of Erie PA (04/20/09)
I bought my 2004 Chevy Impala used in 2007. We never had any problems until June of 2008. One week before leaving on vacation I took the car into the shop for the AC. We ended up needing a water pump and a compressor, about 1000.00. Three hours into our 12 hour journey to the beach while on the PA Turnpike we heard a knocking like a spoon in a tin can as we were exiting to a service plaza.

We got towed to a Chevy dealership nearby ( on a Friday night) and waited for family members leaving after us to bring us our Ford F150 so we could proceed. We picked the car up one week later using a car trailer and returned home to get the engine replaced because it had thrown a rod and was garbage. The check engine light never came on, we had no other signs, and we had kept up on all maintenance. Ultimately, we paid 2200.00 for a used engine with 11,000 miles rather than 4000.00 for a new one. Because we are the second owners, we have no rights with GM.
