Although I don't know if Ramada Plaza Resorts is a scam, I do believe that the business (its owners and telephone representatives at least) have acted in at least an unethical manner.

My 89-year-old mother "bought in" to the sales pitch, thinking that she was going to be giving my husband and I a vacation. The price was reasonable she thought at just under $400 for a week of free hotel accommodations and a 2-day cruise to the Bahamas. She saved the packet of information and Reservations Forms for us as a surprise gift. When I read through the fine print, after 30 days, I decided to call.

Calling several times and being put on hold for 15-20 minutes and then speaking with "Customer Care" representatives whose focus seemed to be a "hard sell" for this "One-time only, you have to make your reservation now" was an unbelievably unpleasant process. The representatives started off friendly until I began asking questions: Is it refundable? No. How much more will this vacation package cost? About $400, not including air fare (which ended up being around $800 round-trip for two adults). Can I explore some other dates and airfare costs and call you back? The representative hung up on me.

I finally sought out information about this company online. I found numerous consumer affairs and advocacy sites providing warnings about this "offer" and a plethora of posts from individuals who had been "scammed" as well. Many were writing of far more horrific stories than mine. The good news is that my husband and I decided to talk with my mother and share with her all the information we researched, so that she did not feel ashamed ("See, many other people were taken, too."). And we offered to reimburse her the money she had already paid to the company.

I do not know if this business is a scam; however, speaking as a daughter who tries to watch out for her 89-year-old mother who lives on a fixed income and just survived cancer this past year, I am angry at companies--and this one in particular--for acting in what I believe to be unethical. Could my mother have said no? Sure. Could she have read the fine print? With a high magnification eyeglass. Is it likely that an 89-year-old with barely one good eye would do so? Unlikely. Might she have researched the company online? No, she does not have internet access.

I suspect that companies like this will remain in business, and I am saddened and angered about that. I don't plan on attempting to seek a refund for my mother. This is a lesson hard learned. I do hope that enough people who are also angered and believe these practices to be wrong will speak out, file class action or individual small claims suits if possible, and that Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureaus, and the FTC will be able to shut them down.

This Ramada Plaza Resort (RPR) vacation scheme has been a huge headache for thousands of angry and disappointed consumers who were promised one thing and received another. In fact, RPR has had to settle multiple class action suits on behalf of these justifiably angry vacationers.

The RPR "agents" are incredibly pushy, arrogant, and become extremely hostile if you try and refuse an "upgrade" or attempt to get a refund. RPR frequently laments that they are non-refundable (only after you ask for a refund), which should jump out in red letters in this economy. Be sure to document everything, the date of any conversation and all important dialogue exchanges.

I am military, and it took me working with Florida's Better Business Bureau to get my money back. Months after, I cancelled my $800 package (2/2009) and received a refund (6/2009). I had the opportunity to talk with yet another antagonistic agent (January 4, 2010). This man stated that I had only cancelled one package and had yet another that was "set to expire."

I had no idea what he was talking about. After 15 minutes of agonizingly high blood pressure, I told him that I would not be vacationing, and they could have whatever money they think I paid them. Again, he was calling on a bogus package. The agent became irate and said, "It's people like you that change your credit card accounts to avoid creditors. Well, we have a policy to ensure that we get our money back by force through merchant accounts. We will find you and take the money from your accounts." Oh, really?

I told the rude agent that the conversation was over. I hung up on him and called 1-800-203-9783 (RPR hotline) to speak with a different agent. She confirmed that I had only one cancelled account and said that the other agent was "probably mistaken." Beware! If you want to be happy, plan the vacation yourself or get a bonafide agent. Stay away from RPR!

We actually booked two packages as a family of 6 under Client # KB042508-043EQ. The saless person promised premium/luxury resort rooms in Ft Lauderdale and Orlando, rental car, reimbursment for $100 of gas, and a 1st Class Cruise. We were also promised that all of the expenses were included in the original price of the package agreed to on 4/3/08 and paid on 6/11/08 for a total of $909.00 with fees of $596.00 fees ($298.00 for each package) paid to Imperial Magesty on 4/3/08 for the port fees. Our mail was baraged with pamphlets and flyers showing clean, luxury accomodations, a beautiful ship. We were even given a website to show us the luxury that we would enjoy on both land and ship.
Upon landing in Ft Lauderdale we were given a map and told to use that to locate the find the Ft Lauderdale Welcome Center in our rented car that cost $318.37. From there we were given vouchers and given another map to find the actual hotel/resort that we would be staying at. Upon entering a very frightening district of Ft. Lauderdale we located our Hotel which was under going construction/renocation. It even had a plastic Ramada sign roped over the sign of the prior name of the building. Far from being a resort the room had worn and ripped furniture, a hole in the concrete balcony and the elevators smelled or urine. We were also assessed an additional $40.00 per night room fee (this was supposed to be included in the original package). We were unable to take the cruise (which we found out from other guests was awful) and went to Orlando on the rest of our vacation at a loss that the staff was unwilling to work with us on even though we relayed our already unsatisfactory accomodations and additional expenses. The Orlando accomodations although better and the Ramada Staff was more accomodating was still far less than the "luxury resort" that we were promised in April 2008 by the original sales rep.

I have just been reading other complaints involving Ramada Plaza Resorts. I to had a trip from hell with this goup. a trip i could have done for less than a 1000, cost me over 2200.
We arrived in Florida to "luxurious condo/hotel"...aka badly run down holiday inn with no towels....after a high pressured time share sales I enquired before leaving about the cruise as i had paid an additional 249us dollars per person to be up graded to Carnival Cruise lines. This at a time when the Canadian dollar was losing 38 cennts on the dollar. I was assued all was a go....we drove to Cape Canvaral to catch the cruise....to arrive and find the 2 cabins booked and paid for...were never booked....I can't say enough good things about the staff of Carnival as they were very kind and although we had to wait about 2 hrs until everyone was on board, they did make some calls and in the end find us 2 cabins and said this was not the first time this had happened with the ramada resort people.

I purchased the trip to Florida with Ramada Plaza Resorts. When offered to me over the phone many items were misrepresented such as -the rental car could be used for a total of 7 days in 2 separate trips to Florida. The bonus vacation to Williamsburg never mentioned that I had to take a timeshare tour. The tickets to Sea World never mentioned a tour. The voucher for Sea World said nothing about a tour. I called the company 6 times one day while I was faxing and emailing a copy of the voucher , they say they never received them even though I have the document that says the fax was complete. I mailed them all of my documents to try and get them to reimburse me for 2 Sea World tickets. They sent a 2 sentence letter to me saying I had to fullfill the requirement of attending the presentation. In my letter to them I also questioned why the Williamsburg trip requires your spouse to attend. I bought the package in my name only and was never asked if I was married so now I cannot go to Williamsburg unless I drag my spouse. In Florida I did not have to take my spouse on the presentation why do I have to in Williamsburg? When I tried to talk to someone in the compliance department where I sent my documents I was told that the only way to communicate with them was by mail so there is not even a person you can talk to.

I had tried several times to contact the "customer care" center by email and fax, but to no avail. The email stated that there was a "server error" and the fax number just rang.

On 10 April 2007, I extended a vacation package which I purchased for two individuals to use. I was told that the package was good for three years from 10 April 2007. Today, I called to discuss my options and was told by the representative that my package "had expired" in October 2008. I told her that the individual who called me in 2007 told me that it was good for three years, which would bring me to April 2010. She said, "I'm sure he may have told you that but your package is expired." However, I again had the option to purchase an extension. She also said that it was printed on the back of a form, which I did not receive.

I feel that this is a blatant misrepresentation by Ramada and by the sales person who called me to extend my package in 2007. Additionally, I was told that the package was paid in full but when you open the booklet, it states that I still owe $298 (if, in fact, the package was still good). So again, more misrepresentation. I do not know what I can do to get my money back because I am sure that this is something that is done to consumers on a regular basis. However, if there is anything that can be done, I would appreciate some guidance. Thank you.

My husband and I booked this vacation back in 2007 and they didn't inform us that it was nonrefundable. In Dec. 2008, when we tried to cancel due to being unemployed and not being able to afford the additional fees involved, we were told that it was nonrefundable. Since they stated that they recorded their "verification" process with me, I requested that they send me a copy of the tape with me agreeing to these fees or refund me my money back. They told me that they couldn't do that. I then asked, how do I know that I agreed to if they couldn't prove it? I told them I would be happy to agree to the terms of the "contract" if they could prove that I entered into the contract that they said I did. If they have no proof of the meeting of the minds between the both of us, then there is no contract.

They would never let me talk with anyone of any importance that could make a decision whatsoever. I am now stuck having to take this crappy vacation and pay the additional $298 fee or lose out on my $1,200.00 that my husband and I already paid ($600.00 the first time, and an additional $600.00 to extend the trip). We just booked this trip for October 9th through the 20th. And due to the fact that I read all the horror stories about this trip and this company, I wanted them to, at the very least, change my hotel accommodations to the Sheraton instead of the Ramada because of the (on average) 74% negative reports listed on the following travel sites, Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz. They told me that they would "try and accommodate me and Rafiel ** told me to call back on the 19th of August to confirm that that was taken care of.

I did call today and more of the same, a complete scam/runaround. I am terrified to take this trip now knowing that I am paying to be disappointed at every turn, not to mention all the "secret" fees that I will be charged once I arrive. At that point, we will be "held hostage" by these people and have no choice. What is a hard working person to do when they save up for over 3 years to take a vacation and they end up with this mess? I know you can't get something for nothing, but I know I deserve to be satisfied with what I am paying for and in the state of WI where I live, the state law is that they must provide me in writing exactly what I am getting and paying for. A receipt for services listing what was purchased, what is included and what is not. I never received any of this even when I asked for it in December 2008.

I am forced to pay for airfare to take this trip, incur additional secret resort fees, taxes, etc. that was not disclosed to me, and the stress of worrying about staying in a sub par environment knowing that I have no other choices available to me through this company. I have tried on three different occasions to get my money back or revise my lodging for this trip. Please, please help me resolve this issue to, or to at least be somewhat content that I will not be staying in some hell-hole hotel.

My wife and I were having our 15th anniversary and received a brochure for a free cruise and vacation in the beautiful Bahamas. We booked well in advance and to my surprise, I was told that the trip was free; however, it would cost to have our cabin upgraded and free meals. So I thought, for a cruise of the magnitude of let's say a Norwegian or Carnival Cruise, it would be well worth the money. Mind you, I am a full-time law student and I should know better, but I went for it. We made the flight arrangements from Atlantic City to West Palm Beach and that's where it all fell apart. At Alamo rentals, they were trying to charge more than what I had already paid months before. After spending almost the whole day driving back and forth from West Palm to Ft. Lauderdale, the Ramada Plaza Resort had no accommodations for us and sent us to the Inverary?

My wife and I had flipped the schedule so we could cruise on our anniversary. The original schedule has one going to a seminar first so one would miss the victims of the scheme that were before them. We were able to see the ship before the seminar, that did not make them very happy and we were not pleased either! The cruise was horrible, the food (what food?) was dished out to us, the pool was a jacuzzi (really!) and it was brown from the children playing in it. Finally, we made it to the Bahamas. We had five hours to shop and do whatever one could fit in five hours. When we left the ship, on either side was a Carnival and a Norwegian. We were so embarrassed. We went to go over to Paradise Island and ended up walking because we had to conserve our money (we were being hit with hidden cost for everything).

On the way back to the ship, we were approached by a cabbie and we told him we could not afford the ride. We had found earlier that if we told the islanders how we got there, they would leave us a lone. The cabbie said in his accent, "Aww, you came over in the little dingy?" We had to laugh. So when we got back to the main land, we declined on the Orlando experience and took a trip down the new river and stayed in the Inverary for the remainder of the time warning everyone of the atrocities awaiting them.

My case wasn't as bad as some of these poor people. Probably because I decided against their program after I looked on the Web site and saw all the complaints. Well, that's when the fun started for me as I tried to get my money refunded and followed all their stipulations. It has been two years and still no refund. I never have been so upset with a company. They are not only taking our money under false pretenses, they also lied to me about the time share presentation. My rep said, "No, this is not a time share presentation that pushes you into buying." The customer service team is the worst in the nation. First, they don't answer the phone, then they put you on hold. Then, somehow, you get disconnected before you get to even talk to someone. I spent hours/days on the phone trying to get through.

After reading some of the complaints, I was absolutely appalled that so many people were taken by this so-called company. I don't understand how they are getting away with ripping people off and the fraudulent way they conduct business. It is evident to me they are running a "scam" and I don't know why the principals haven't been arrested. The sales people are lying about everything in the package. There is no customer service, half the time, they don't answer the phone or if you get an answer, they put you on hold for hours. Then, they transfer you only to be cut off and then you have to start all over.

The C.S. reps will not give you any information other than there no one available right now in that department. Months and months with continued efforts where I was passed on from rep to rep then through two different supervisors, who lied to me about my refund being processed. I was also hung up on by several different employees. I am extremely frustrated by getting the runaround.

I discovered that they did send a refund but to the wrong bank, an account that was closed, in which they sent it back the next day. I had no written notice from anyone that this took place. So now I'm thinking that I should have no problem getting my refund; they just need to reissue it to the right account. Wrong! I spent more months trying to get through to the head of the credit department because I was told if I got my old bank on a three-way call to verify that they returned it to Ramada Resorts, they would issue a check that day.

So, I did that and the bank teller was my witness. It was the biggest lie that anyone has ever told me. When I got all three of us on the phone, she said that she still could not reissue a check to me. The assistant to Credit Manager then told me that she was gone for the day after all that, so I asked for her boss which was the president and the assistant told me he did not know his name.

Can you believe it? He's employed with a company and he doesn't know the president's name. I continue to push for answers only to get hung up on again. Through my perseverance, I finally spoke with the Credit Manager who is second from the top and we went round and round. She kept telling me she had to verify through Visa if they had my money. At this point, I keep calling back month after month - still no refund!

It is amazing that with their false promises of a wonderful vacation, they haven't shut this company down when you can't even get through to make a reservation or talk to anyone about anything. It is outrageous that this company has been allowed to stay alive only to suck everyone for their money and laugh all the way on a much better vacation spot at their customers expense. It is an insult to all of us as consumers that this company is still open and for this to continue. Not only do we all need to join together with a class action suit, we also need to change our federal and state laws to protect the consumer against this type of business.

There is not "one" good thing to say about this company. We need some restitution for our time, our stress, our anxiety, the humiliation, disrespect and, of course, the monies spent due the array of lies, the false, untold, misleading/fraudulent concept of the whole package, and the losses in vacation time wasted and the affect it had on your families and friends. They have no remorse about conducting a business that ruined the customers vacation and the financial burden they caused.

How can they take people's money knowing that this is not a vacation? It is an "assault," we have been victimized. What is the difference between this company and someone who embezzles money - or who takes your credit card number and makes fraudulent charges? Those people go to jail for such crimes. I want to fight for our rights and get money returned to every customer that has filed a complaint. This company is literally getting away with stealing from us.

Why aren't the "principals" under arrest for running a "scam" fraudulent business? The SEC should also investigate their business practices. I am sure they are conducting their accounting illegally as well. I would like to be included in the class action suit. I will testify in court or whatever it takes to get some restitution from this company. We need to take action now! We can't sit back and let them get away with this. People are getting taken advantage of everyday - thousands of our hard-earned money were taken for a service they did not deliver. Therefore, I think it's time to put a stop to this "scam" and they claim it's a vacation.

He convinced me to take a look at the package. They would lower the price to $349.00 and if I was not satisfied, return the entire package and my money would be quickly refunded. Upon receiving the package, I decided it was too risky. I called the company to inform them I am returning their material. I was given the instructions on returning the material. I called a week later to ensure they received the package. I was told they have everything and a refund will be issued. I called again approximately three weeks later, 6-13-09, spoke with a supervisor and was told everything was done on their end and it is my credit card company that is holding up my refund. I received "a free cruise voucher" for 2 people for a cruise to the Bahamas. I was planning a possible vacation to either Florida or Las Vegas at the time. I was offered a great package or so I thought. I had guest traveling with me from China. I was told that I could also use a platinum getaway voucher for the first two nights in Ft. Lauderdale. Because of this, I decided to go to Florida. I, at the time of booking, was told there was no problem booking this platinum getaway in conjunction with the cruise. I paid for upgrades to the cruise for 5 people and was told to mail in the platinum getaway voucher.

As the whole trip was dependent on this first leg, I called after two weeks and was told that they apparently had lost the paperwork. I faxed the paperwork in again on 5/28/09. I was told there was no problem and that the room was available and not to cancel the cruise. I called back to make sure they indeed received the paperwork. I was told that it takes about two weeks to process.

I called after three weeks and was told that they could not find the paperwork, so I re-faxed it to them. They again said that it takes two weeks to process, but they would send me my paperwork before the trip. We leave NY this Friday. I called again and am now getting the line that you cannot combine this with the cruise promotion, which is not what was told to me when I booked and paid for the cruise. They want to sell me two rooms.

I asked to speak to supervisor and was told that "You cannot combine these offers, and it clearly states it in the paperwork." I asked him to review the recorded calls to see if his staff is intentionally defrauding people and asked where in the paperwork it states it. He refused to say and told me to read it all over. I have, and it does not state it anywhere. I then wanted to know my options and inquired about a refund of the cruise, and I was told "No way." I tried to call and book my cruise and also tried to call and cancel my vacation package and each time i received the run around from mutiple people. I called and spoke ot a woman named Joan Corporate ID # 4326 requesting a refund on my credit card for a charge I never authorized. Joan was very rude to me and yelled on the phone several times stating that she has proof i authorized that request. When i asked her for the proof she stated that i couldnt hear it because it didnt belong to me. When i asked to speak to her suprivisor she told me that he would not talk to me. I told Joan that i was going to file a lawsuit and sue her company and then she told me he would talk to me. After being put on hold for at least 15 minutes, Jason (he refused to tell me his last name) Corporate ID # 4490 then also yelled at me and then tried to sell me extension programs to extend my vaction package. All i was asking for was a refund for a vacation i Never purchased. I was scammed by an oral misrepresentation. Then given the run around. I was told i won a free vacation that i had to use within a certain time period and then was charged for it. I am requesting a refund and the "Supervisor Jason" stated that they do refund packages, but they will not refund mine!

Dream vacations was taken over by Ramada. confirmations were changed numerous times - saying that we were set up at one place and then when we called back there was no confirmation. once we got there the rooms were dirty - toys left from previous guests under bed, beds had black granules (possible bed bug eggs), the other bed had cool-aid spots or blood spots, crumbs. the coffee pot had old coffee still in it from previous guest. the room seemed semi- cleaned by maids. they did remake the beds when asked however there was not mattress pads for either bed nor were there fitted sheets, this made it uncomfortable for a nights sleep when you ended up sleeping on the mattress it self. Requested a fridge for medical purpose and never received. When making reservations we were told that one would be available. requested several times for room to be restocked with towels but never happened. pool never had towels available - had to wait 30 minutes one day to receive. whirl pool did not work water was dirty and discolored. Once on our way home we realized that we had forgot 3 swim suits and a swim suit cover - we immediately called back to have them get them returned at our expense but they claimed that there was nothing left in the room. we told them exactly where they were at in the room and they still said there was nothing there. We have called several times requesting to to talk to manager but no one will return call.

I am a former employee with Ramada Plaza Resorts/Imperial Majesty/Caribbean Cruiseline customer service and verification center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. My job was to answer the phone calls and try to assist customers in keeping and booking their packages. I was told to do everything by their rules because there is plenty of legal crap in there that covers Ramada's rear end. The vacation package is actually legal, but the way the script is written makes it very difficult for your average consumer to understand. It's filled with hidden disclaimers, plenty of surcharges, and just a lot of untold money involved.

At first, I was never told that customers could not get a refund. We were instructed to say that the vacation could be extended (for a huge and usually made-up fee or transferred to another person), but the customer had to buy it first. The sales script talks about the Ramada Plaza Resort in Ft. Lauderdale but neglects to mention that it is in a terrible neighborhood surrounded by heavy traffic. All they say is that it's about 15 minutes from the beach. Not with the traffic in that area! When a customer would get upset at buying the vacation, the managers would take over (T.O.) the call and sweet talk the customer into buying it or if you already have a package into keeping it, offering food included, $50 in gambling tokens (once you put $50 up first) and the option of extending the time limit to two years (which most the time is a lie and you're stuck with 18 months). Some people fell for it and bought the package.

I cannot say what the cruise is like because they just got a so-called new ship named the Bahamas Celebration which is just a ship that is old but has been 'renovated.' I also can't say what the resort in Orlando is like due to it being shut down (I'll let you figure out why). What I can say is that while the package is not a scam, in reality, it's not as great as the script describes. I no longer work for the company because they are running out of ammo and people aren't biting the bait anymore due to the bad publicity as well as the economy. The sales reps get paid on commission. The more money the customer puts down on the deposit, the higher the cut for the sales rep.

You can imagine that the reps including customer service and reservations will say just about anything they are legally allowed to say because they all want a bigger paycheck! If you receive one of these vouchers package deals, don't bother. You'll probably be disappointed because the description sounds amazing and the trip really isn't. Good luck on trying to cancel. You will be directed to a 'customer care specialist' (ext. **) who is nothing more than someone who is better trained to tell you no. All I can say is try mentioning the BBB and that you will dispute with your credit card company (they really hate that). And please don't ask for Dan Lambert (the so-called president) - I worked there pretty long and still never met him.

Florida is really a great place to travel, but don't do it on a vacation. A package might just come out cheaper if you do it on your own. No such thing as free. This is your warning. Hope this helps someone out. I am truly upset with myself for working there for as long as I did. I just hope they go out of business soon because that company is doing nothing but sinking on their own ship. What goes around always comes around.

Immediately within 10 minutes I called & asked them to cancel it. But they refused to cancel it. Nor did they send any mail that they said they would send. I feel I am harassed unnecessarily without fault. I disputed the amount on my credit card but nothing happened. Infact the very moment I called my credit card not to pay them the amount. We noticed mold on the bathroom walls, as well as the air vent. We also noticed stains on the wall and furniture. We went to the front desk and asked for a different room. They then gave us one on the 4th floor. That room too had mold and was dirty. We took pictures to document this. We went to the front desk to ask for a refund and advise them that due to health concerns we would not be staying. We were informed that since the room was pre-paid, that we could not get a refund. The manager was not on site, so I got his name (L. Cashman). I have since tried to email him twice (emails came back undeliverable) and I also left him a voicemail asking him to call me asap. 2419 E commercial Blvd Suite 100 Fort Lauderdale, Fl 33308 Phone-800-203-9783 Reservation # EN120908-081XF: My husband & I purchased a vacation package from the Ramada Plaza Resort. It included 4 days 3 nights at an ocean front resort in Fort Lauderdale, Fl (paid $100.00 more for the upgrade for a beach front room) with a 2 nights Cruise to Nassau Bahamas (paid extra 198.00 for 3 nights thinking we will have an extra day in the Bahamas). To find out we only actually had one full day at Nassau. The other day was spent cruising back to Fort Lauderdale on NOT SO LUXURY SHIP. This package also included 3 days & 2 nights in Orlando with 2-2day passes to Universal Studio, & a rental of an economy car, the smallest car on the market. One would need to up grade to a mid size car, which I did for $141.97. Our dates we booked for Feb 5, 2009 -Feb 12-2009. On Monday Feb 2, 2009, I called the 1-800-203-9783 to tell them that I have not received my itinerary. They said they sent in via US mail on the 29th of Jan 2009. I asked to have the itinerary faxed to my husband's job. I received my faxed itinerary late the next day Tuesday the 3rd for Feb. I never did receive an itinerary through the US mail. I wondered why, and found the answer later. Good thing I called, & waited 1 hour to get through. This used up my monthly minutes on my cell phone bill. My monthly phone bill then became very expensive. Reading through the faxed itinerary we were booked at the Ocean Point Resort. I then went on line to check out where this Ocean Point Resort was located & found the reviews. There were 93 reviews on TripAdvisor.com. Only 4 were favorable reviews. The other 89 were horrifying. All stating the place should be knocked down & very filthy. When 89 reviews scream at you not to stay at a Hotel that it should be knocked down, then one would be brainless not to call to change the reservation. Before, we left NJ, I called the welcome center # again & again waited to get through. They said they could change the room when we arrive at the Welcome Center in Fort Lauderdale. One review said to ask to be placed at the Weston. When we arrived, in Fort Lauderdale, I asked if we had to stay at the Ocean Point Resort. The lady said you don't have too. I then asked, if we can stay at the Weston. The Weston is the Vacation Village Resort, in the city of Weston where they sell their times shares. The lady booked us at the Vacation Village in Weston. She then said, that we needed to be scheduled for a presentation to receive our package that we already paid for. So we were force to take 10 am presentation & were told we only were required to listen to the scam of buying a time share that we can't afford, & not interested in for 2 hours. Well, first they did not start the presentation until 11 am, & then try to leave with your voucher to go on to Orlando. The sales girls says one minute, I get your voucher. Then gentlemen comes over to tell us that he has a great deal, after another hour with him & then he sends another gentlemen our with a better deal. After 4 hours of saying we not interested we get our voucher. As they handed our voucher to go on to Orlando, they tell us good news is that we don't need to attend a presentation in Orlando. Wrong, we arrived at the Welcome Center in Orlando, & guess what. In order to received our 2-2day passes to Universal that we paid for, we must attend another timeshare presentation that we had already spent 5 hours stating we can't afford one nor are we interested in buying one. Not to waist any more time on our vacation we declined the presentation & did not received 2-2day passes to Universal that we paid up front. We were Never told that we must attend 2 presentation to receive to receive our package. This was the worst part of our trip. Since Ramada used, as other Victims stated in the classes action suit of a the bait & switch game, We demand our $100.00 refund for the upgrade of what any guest would expect, a clean room on the beach.& the price of the 2-2-day passes at Universal $200.00, that we did paid for & not received even thought we keep the our commitment to listen to a bunch to CRAP. This is very generous request considering what we had to deal with for 5 hours of BULLCRAP. Selling timeshare that started at $25,000 at 17% interest, then 10,000 at 17% and then 5,000 at 17%, for ONE Week Vacation, plus $400.00 per year for maintenance, & $175.00 per year for tax. What a BIG SCAM. If one was interested in buying a timeshare, one can on line and buy the same package they we scamming for Thousands, for $1000.00. One does not have to go through the 5 hours of torture in listening to 3 sales scams to take one’s money. That is just INSANE. For the vacation time that was wasted, we should have received better accommodations that we paid for, and our 2-2day passes to Universal that we paid for. A refund for $300.00 in order. If this request goes unanswered, be sure we will file complaint with State of NJ Consumer Affairs like other States, have filed class action suit. The information highway is wide open, and many consumers will now be more aware of the SCAM Ramada Plaza Resort is promoting. And by changing the company’s name, to keep the SCAM rolling, will not find new victims. Please send a check for $300.00 or credit my credit card that was used to make the reservation. This is a simple request that would satisfy this victim of your well known SCAM. In regret, Diane & Thomas DeDonna 52 Fernwood ct Clifton, NJ 07011 973-449-7608

I also went ahead and booked a cruise up to the point of having to put in my credit card info on the carnival website. The SAME cruise only cost $567.42. By the way my cabin would have no window and be pretty close to the last deck through the vacation package. The resort stay would have required that i attend a time share pitch. I have done this before and i know that the hotel stay is free IF you do this. This made me wonder exactly where my money was going. So far it definitely wasn't going toward my vacation..... I already paid for that in my fees alone. Luckily my credit card company is a DOLL and is disputing the claim of up to $1198. I will still be loosing about $800 or so but I am getting a big bulk back so I am somewhat content with this news.

The first indication that the luxury travel package we purchased was mis-represented was when we received our travel itenerary stating that our south Florida hotel was a Holiday Inn. We purchased a Ramada Resort travel package.
After carefully reading the 'small print' to be sure we had not overlooked a 'loop hole' we could not find any mention of the participation of Holiday Inn's as a substitution for our promised 'Luxury Accomodations'. Upon researching this offer on the internet, we discovered that many, many complaints had been entered by persons who had gone on this 'vacation' and found virtually no aspect of what was promised them in print to be accurate. Most were nighmares, not by any stretch of the imagination 'luxury vacations'. We are only glad we didn't waste our time only to be miserable and disappointed, as others report. We will follow all suggestions in filing claims against Ramada to receive restitution and will also file in Los Angeles small claims court. This scam needs to be shut down by the powers that be so no one else is duped. It can happen to anyone. My husband and I are in our 60's and have traveled extensively. They wouldn't refund my money either. I guess I'm just out the $798 plus $87 extension. November 23, 2008 To Whom It May Concern: My name is Christina and I am writing this letter in regards to the Imperial Majesty vacation package I purchased. My husband and I bought the package in September 2007 from the telemarketing department that contacted us offering the deal. We decided to use the vacation package as our honeymoon since we had just got married. We reserved the vacation in August 2008 for 10/17/08- 10/23/08. Unfortunately, the vacation package that we were informed we purchased was not the vacation that we actually experienced. Therefore, we are requesting that we receive a refund to reimburse us for the vacation package discrepancies. Through the vacation package booking process we were guaranteed 3 days and 2 nights in Orlando, Florida at a brand new resort, 3 days and 2 nights in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We upgraded to stay at an oceanside resort. We were promised a 3-day and 2 night Caribbean Cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals throughout our vacation, and 2 two day passes to Universal Studios. We were sent the information package that contained our travel documents, vouchers, schedule, and DVD. The video showed live entertainment every night, big buffet with a variety of different dishes, karaoke nightly, jacuzzi, swimming pool, full-service bars and outdoor patio area, and large clean rooms and lounge areas. We were pleased with our choice to buy the vacation after watching the movie. It was also stated in the documents and DVD that we would be required to attend a 90-minute time-share presentation. Less than one week before we left Pennsylvania for Florida we received a message from Imperial Majesty. When we contacted them back they informed us that our cruise, the only reason we initially purchased the vacation package, was cancelled. FEMA had confiscated the cruise ship over one month prior to that date. With such short notice we were unable to postpone our travel arrangements and so had to take our honeymoon without the main element of the vacation. We bought the package for the cruise. The cruise contained a casino, several different dining options, nightly entertainment, room service, outdoor activities, and transportation to the Bahamas. Since it was a natural disaster, we were given two extra nights in Fort Lauderdale and the option of taking the cruise within the next year. This in not feasible in our situation because of our distant proximity from the cruise ship port and our inability to take another vacation in the near future due to financial limitations. We will not be able to experience any of the amenities that the cruise has to offer nor will we be able to use our passports that we had to obtain for the cruise. Therefore, my husband and I insist that we be refunded for our port fees since we will not be going on the cruise. The port fees are for the expenses of boarding the ship and customs processing. We will not be boarding the ship due to the cancellation so we are entitled to receive this fee back. Furthermore, there were various inconsistencies that we experienced between what we were told we would receive and what we actually did receive during our vacation. We were told we would be staying at a resort during the entire vacation. The Ramada Resort that we stayed at was not brand new as we were told. There was no nightly entertainment; one bar never opened during our entire stay and the other bar closed before 10 pm. There was no karaoke as shown in the DVD. Both pool tables, video gaming machine, women’s restroom, and one elevator were out of order during our stay. The resort was dirty and staff was rude. The selection and quality of the buffets that were provided were unacceptable. We did not even eat at the buffets due to the inedible quality of the food and poor service that we received. Included are copies of our meal vouchers to substantiate our inability to eat the food provided that we paid for when we purchased this package. We were told there would be a shuttle to provide transportation from our resort to Universal Studios. In actuality, the shuttle had been terminated in 2007. The patio area wasn’t properly maintained and the jacuzzi water was filthy. The staff at the Orlando Welcome Center was very rude and uninformed. We checked into the Ramada Resort on 10/21/08 and the next day went to the Welcome Center for our Universal tickets. The staff there told us we had to attend a second time-share presentation in Orlando in order to get our tickets. The two male employees working were so rude that my husband and I walked out and waited until the next day when different staff was working to obtain our promised tickets. We received them that day but were only able to use the tickets for one day since we were refused the tickets originally. In addition, the resort was filled with negativity from various other guests. Many couples either walked out of the buffet dining area or openly complained of the food. Throughout the resort, we encountered dissatisfied individuals who were also mislead and misinformed of their Imperial Majesty Vacation Package. The information that we received about the time-share presentation was also misleading. My husband and I had to travel 45 minutes from our hotel in Fort Lauderdale to attend the presentation. We were there for 4 ½ hours when we were guaranteed a maximum of 1 ½ hours. With the addition of our drive time, we spend a total of 6 hours for the time-share presentation. Again, this was not what had been originally informed. We did not purchase the package we received. Due to the cancellation of the cruise, substandard accommodations and cuisine, lack of entertainment, unprofessional nature of staff, untimely manner in which our Universal tickets were received, and false time frame and inconvenience of the time-share presentation, we request a substantial portion of our vacation package price be refunded. We want a total of $418.00, $300.00 for the above issues and the port fees of $118. We are forwarding this letter to the State Representatives of Florida and Pennsylvania, the Better Business Bureau, Florida Tourism Board, and etc. I have included pictures to reveal the state of resort we stayed at. Please contact us in order to resolve this matter in a timely fashion. Thank You,

We are now being told that the company policy has changed and that we have to spend at least one day in Fort Lauderdale and we owe more money.

When we called to complain and ask if we could get a refund. They told use that we could not receive a refund and that they had a recording of me agreeing to pay a porting fee for a boat that we were not getting on. There was nothing in this package listing anything I owed, just reservation forms to send in and money exchanged at that time. I have chosen not to use this way of nonprofessional, questional practices type of program. This establishment is a nightmare!! My mother booked a trip with this company and paid over $2,000 in fees. She is 74 years old and became ill in April, 2008. I have called this company numerous times to extend her vacation and reschedule her trip to a different time. I explained that she was ill and that her intent was to post-pone her trip (not to cancel). I was told repeatedly that she could not do that without paying an additional $99 and that I would have to make multiple calls to postpone each leg of the trip (they could only help with the initial hotel and cruise). I had to place multiple calls to the airline and the company that booked the airfair through Ramada. I then paid $99 and asked for a confirmation. After making 3 more phone calls within the following month because no confirmation was received. After the third call and numerous hang-ups and disconnects, I was told that the extension of the trip was 'comped' and that I actually paid $99 for an upgrade to an ocean front room on the cruise portion of the trip (which is one night). This is completely not true and outright contradicts everything I was told the previous 10+ calls I had made. We are not able to get confirmation of anything at this point. My intent is to write a letter to the president of this company and never, ever use them again.

We purchased a vacation package. We had confirmed reservations that included a cruise. The cruise was cancelled. The company NEVER advised us the cruise was cancelled, but our friends who had the same vacation booked received a card to contact them. They did and found out the cruise had been cancelled. (we heard this from others previously in customer service, that our ship was being used by FEMA, but we had differing stories) Some said it was cancelled, some said they would have the ship back and our cruise was set for November 8. It was on October 23 when I telephoned Ramada to see if our cruise had been cancelled, and they said yes. They had another cruise option to offer for an additional $304, however, that was booked an was not an option. They just hadn't got to us yet to advise us. Our options were to convert the trip to land. I went on line and could actually reserve their resort for the same dates for $325.00 including taxes and fees and we have paid them $996.00. Other options included extending the vacation 18 months and taking it later, with no consideration for our non-refundable airline tickets for November 4-11. There was a cruise we could get on on November 3 for an additional $346.00 + $180.00 to change our airline tickets and take an additional off work. All of their options were going to cost additional money over and above the agreed upon purchase. We advised them none of the options were acceptable and requested a refund of the $996.00 we paid in advance. We aren't allowed to speak to a supervisor as these issues should be settled in reservations. Yesterday, Eric from Ramada Plaza Resorts said, you've probably been on this cruise 10 times. I corrected him that we had never been on this cruise and he was now making untrue assumptions. Their answer is there are no refunds. On October 23, Justin stated he would call us back in a few days with a solution. Never called us. Last night when I mentioned the only options they left us were to consult with an attorney and request a chargeback from the credit card company, Eric said he would discuss this with Justin and he would call us back today with a resolution. We've also advised them if they could book us on another cruise at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE, that would be acceptable. The only cruise they offered that is booked and was never oofered to us before it was booked was one day longer, yet it cost $304 more and they said we had to pay the $304.

When we went to the new room all of our things we there except for the clothes that were in the drawers in the old room. We immediately called the front desk and told them. They said that it would be a while before management could bring them because they were busy. We waited and waited. During the wait we tested the carpet. We placed our little one on it -- bare footed. Within thirty minutes her feet were black. The carpet was filthy. Not only was the carpet dirty that would have been bad enough, but a bug was in our oldest daughter's bed. And we killed two bugs in the bathroom. This hotel was horrible!

Back to the clothes -- we never got them that night. We got back on it the next morning. We called the front desk and kept asking for the manager. They did not want to speak to us when they found out who it was. We went down to the front desk. We told them that we would be checking out of the hotel immediately, but we wanted our clothes. They couldn't find them. Someone had taken them. They had rented our old room out. And they had moved our things without our permission. We tried throughout our whole trip to get our things back and to deal with Ramada, however, they feel that they are not at fault. Yet they are the ones that came into our room and moved our things without permission -- things are stolen.

About the clothes that were taken: among those things are 7 T-shirts, Victorian baby clothes on hangers. Plus a cell phone charger. The cell phone charger was in one of my oldest daughter's bags. Someone had to have gone through our things to have found it! Each one of the dress are costly -- from $25 to $45 a piece.

They have been calling, sometimes several times a day, for the last 10 days. We are on the national do not call list and have made them aware of that. I do not know how they got my number. I did not give it to them. I have asked them repeatedly to remove my number from their list and to stop calling. I do not want to receive any more calls from them.

Our complaint is all too similar to the others we NOW see on consumeraffairs.com. I am sorry we did not research this before we paid a cent for our Ramada Plaza Resort vacation. We don't recall how we found out about the vacation package, but we do not respond to solicitations. We have been searching for a way to buy into a hotel chain vacation package to find a way to better plan our vacations now that we are semi-retired at a relatively young age. We felt we could trust the Ramada name. When we booked, we thought we bought a 10 day luxury vacation package, but the discount? was to just listen to a 90 minute sales pitch. We pre-paid $798. We were unable to take the vacation for over a year, but finally booked it and paid the $198.00 balance, plus upgraded our cruise cabin with a window for $99. We then got our itinerary and notice it was just a 7 day trip. We decided we must not have had the dates right, however, I wrote down in my calendar the 10 day long trip. As I read other reports a consumeraffairs.com, I see others trips were also represented to be longer.

We were fortunate in that we only had to travel 2 hours to Ft. Lauderdale, so we thought the $100 gas voucher would be a good deal for us as well. Upon arrival, we were really disappointed in the mediocre low budget hotel. Sadly, we were just too tired to complain as this was our first vacation since our semi retirement four years earlier. We actually work harder now and really needed a luxurious vacation! We requested a king sized bed, and of course we did not get one at check in. We had to complain to receive one, but we did.

For some reason, we thought we would be at a resort and this was anything but a resort. We decided we needed to try and make the best of it. We were impressed with the quality of the wait staff in the dining room. That was the best part of the time there, however, we were charged a mandatory 15% gratuity for the buffet style meals. We were disappointed to then learn our tour of a resort (we thought where we were staying was what they would try to "sell" us) was 30 minutes away. We were familiar with the area, so we knew it well and did not have to have the driving tour. We thought we would easily be out in two hours so we had plans for the evening. In fact, we were subjected to a very high pressured time share sales pitch. We had no idea it was going to be a time share. We ended up feeling held hostage when we could not leave with out seeing "one more" manager. We told the salesman at the end of the two hours we were not interested in buying. In fact, the sales man knew we were real estate investors and this was not for us, but yet, we had to talk to his manager. Then to get our cruise voucher, we had to talk to another manager, who in the end, called us in essence liars? because he did not believe why we did not want to buy! Needless to say, our evening was now ruined.

The next day, we tried to enjoy the beach, but the drive there in all the traffic made it less than enjoyable. We did do our research, however, and managed to enjoy wonderful tours of the Bonnet House, the Stranahan House, and the Historic Fort Lauderdale Museum. Our next huge disappointment was at check out. We were charged a $8.90 daily surcharge, on top of the taxes. Our initial bill also had a daily $1.00 charity charge and a daily $1.00 safe charge. We never used the safe and never authorized a charity charge. Those charges were immediately taken off, but I asked what the surcharge was for. I was shown a list: parking, tennis courts, bellman, swimming pool/towels, safe (yep!), and fitness center. These were all listed as "amenities" in our brochure and none were especially well maintained or special for the extra charge. I only used the swimming pool once and none of the other amenities since we were gone all day each day. Our package included three meals a day, but we skipped lunch each day as the hotel was so far from the sights and beach. We were told we would be fed on the "tour" but we were not. (We were offered some food after the tour of the time share, but we wanted to get out of there, so turned it down. I then developed a severe headache from the pressure and lack of a lunch. I did tell this to the sales man and even got a glass of water to take an aspirin.)

When we went to the Port Everglades to board the cruise ship, we immediately became concerned. Our faith and trust in the Ramada had been diminished from the hotel and the high pressured time share. We had taken one other cruise and this vessel just looked too small to us. Hurricane Bertha was still churning in the Atlantic and we just did not feel comfortable at its size. We declined boarding the ship and we were told a credit would be issued on our credit card for the cabin upgrade by the Ft. Lauderdale Welcome Center staff. We did place our complaints at that time and they were so noted in our electronic file (so we were told.) We were also told to write our complaint to the compliance center.

We drove home to Sebring, which was on the way to Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale to spend the night since we did not go on the cruise. I called the Orlando Welcome center to ask if we could come in a day early since we did not take the cruise. We were told we could pay for a room to come early, but otherwise, we could not change our reservation. I asked at that time if we had to take another "tour" out of curiosity. I was told "no" however we might be offered gifts. We went on to Orlando on schedule, but early in the day, hoping to get our "free tickets" so we could have a full day of fun. We were told the only way to get our "free tickets" was to listen to another sales pitch. Needless to say, we said we paid for this vacation with the understanding we only had to listen to one 90 minute sales pitch that turned out to be over four hours. We were then offered a choice of the free tickets or $80 cash. We took the cash.

We talked with several people at the hotel in Orlando that we met in Ft. Lauderdale. One said the cruise was terrible and others said we did not miss much. The main complaint was that the rooms were too small and the service was not good. There was not much entertainment, either, which was what we had hoped to enjoy. We could tell by looking at the ship that there did not look like much room for entertainment and a swimming pool.

This hotel was much nicer and felt more like a resort. Again, the wait staff was great and all the hotel staff was friendly. However, they had trouble with the electronic keys. We kept getting locked out of our hotel room and spent an inordinate amount of time in trying to get new keys. It was a common problem and it appeared many others were also encountering the same problem. We did enjoy sightseeing in Orlando. We have been to all the amusement parks, so we visited the historical sights. We visited the Orange County museum one day and the St. Cloud Historical Society the second day.

I just called in for the address to mail in our receipts for reimbursement of $100 for gas since we did not rent a car. I was advised we still had our bonus trip to book to either Las Vegas or Mexico, I stated we were not pleased with this trip so had little faith in the accommodations for the "bonus" trip. We are now researching another vacation and found this on your site.... This article details how then Attorney General Charlie Crist charged the Wyndham Group with deceptive resort charges, etc in August 2006. We were not told about these resort charges when we originally made our reservation. We were told this AFTER we paid the $798 and were paying the $198.

We did not get what we paid for. The hotel was not "luxurious" and the cruise ship is usually "free" in exchange for gambling. We did not get the four tickets to Disney as promised. We had to take another tour to get it and that goes back on their word. We were given $80 in exchange for the tickets that go for $125 each. So for all this, we paid $1,000. The value we got was worth less than $500. So we lost at least $500 in vacation value.

This complaint is about 2 packages that were purchased from the Ramada Plaza Resorts. Let me start by saying these trips was sold to me under false information. I purchased the first package a year or so back for 689.00 and wanted to add 2 adults and 3 kids so I called to talk to someone about adding additional people. When I called I spoke with a representative by the name of Karen. After going over what I wanted to do she advised me the cheaper thing to do was to purchase a separate package from the original package I had. She told me she would also give me 2 free Disney tickets if I paid on the package that day.

I gave her a deposit of 398.00 that I was told was my port taxes. The balance of 456.00 was left. I called her a week later to get a few more details of the trip and got another representative that had me very confused about the package. I asked the rep to put me thru to Karen and she told me Karen was busy and she would help me. After almost an hour of total confusion I demanded my money back. She then put me on hold for another 15 minutes and I was connected to Karen.

I told Karen what had happen and she told me the type of package I had the other reps wouldnt understand so I should deal with her only. I told her at that point I wasnt sure anymore. She assured me every thing was ok gave me her supervisors name and number Harry. She told me if I couldnt get her to call him and he would be able to help me. I told her I would be calling in February to pay in full and I didnt want to go thru what had happen that day so could we set a date for her to call me. She then gave me her personal cell number and told me I could call her and she would call me back. I felt sure everything was ok.

I was under the impression the package reservation was for 2 adults, 2 kids with 2 free Disney tickets, free food vouchers, and the hotel which was going to be 12-15 per day taxes, the cruise was paid in full and 100 fuel refund. This package was paid for in full February. The first package I had I added my 18 month old daughter to for 79.00. Harry ended up taking 40 dollars off the price because I paid for an upgrade on the car that I now didnt need because we was renting a van. This package was for 2 adults, 1 infant, hotel that would be 12-15 dollars per night, and the cruise. I upgraded the hotel to the ocean front hotel for 99.00 extra dollars and upgraded my cruise cabin also. Karen was very persistent that I upgrade the 2nd package because we will be at different hotels and I should upgrade. I wasnt will to pay anymore money.

We finalized the details and I thought I had all cost covered. What a joke. The details of this nightmare are as follows: I arrived at the Ocean Front Hotel. This 3 star hotel was horrible. It had Prostitutes at the bar, parking was a nightmare and the tub water took half a day to go down. If this is a 3 star I would hate to see anything below that.

To top it off the taxes was 20.00 per day per room. That was an additional 120.00 paid out that was I expecting to pay no more that 90.00 for. We ended up staying away from the hotel most of the time to keep away from the traffic coming in and out of the bar. We couldnt even find parking due to the locals taking all the parking. The 1st 3 days was unsatisfactory. The next 2 days what would The Regal Empress be like. What another joke.

After finally getting passed all the security points we was informed there will be an automatic 30.00 fuel charge per person. Its 7 of us, 4 adults and 2 kids and a 18 month old. Thats an addition 210.00 that we werent told about. Actually there was also an automatic gratuity charge of 20.00 per person. Now thats 50 per person. We are at 350.00 extra dollars that we werent aware of.

The cruise was surprisingly nice. So the 20.00 for the adults was ok its 20.00 for the kids that I thought was outrageous. And Ramada should tell people that they charge a gratuity fee. I am sure they knew.

Next we go to the Welcome center in Orlando with the impression that this has to get better at least we got the 2 free Disney tickets. Again what a joke to, my surprise I had to pay 50.00 for the tickets that I thought was free. I called the 888 number and spoke with a rep. She told me in my package it specifies I had to pay 50.00 for the tickets. After 15 minutes of me trying to explain to her I never received a package that broke down my trip just a confirmation letter via fax she finally told me Adrian was in a meeting and I should call him back in 10 minutes.

I called Adrian back and he told me I was told I had to pay 50.00 for the tickets. I told him the lines are recorded and I want to listen to the phone conversation that told me I had to pay 50.00 for the Disney tickets because I am 100% sure I was not told that. He then told me the calls are randomly recorded so there was no recorded line. After going back and forth with him for 45 minutes I hung up. This has been the worse trip ever. I took my family and expected better.

I am requesting a refund for 20.00 gratuities, and 30.00 fuel charge I paid for my 18 month old daughter and my 5 year old niece that I wasnt told about. I am also request a full refund for the hotel taxes I was told were going to be 12-15 dollars a night per room that ended up being 20.00 per night, per room, and my package. That is a total of 909.00 dollars.

I hope someone will be in touch with me to rectify this matter ASAP as I will pursue the matter to the fullest. As if I dont have any more to complain about. I called the 888 number to ask how I go about getting the 100 per package fuel charges and to my surprise I have to send in the gas receipts. Well I wasnt told that I would have to do that so I dont have all the fuel receipts. The rep (Lamercie) asked me if I have bank statements. I told her I have some but I was with 2 other adults and we were splitting the cost. We paid for most of the fuel in cash and didnt get a fuel receipt. I told her I have the rental agreement. She told me to send it all in along with this letter. Another disappointment I am enduring.

Dear Sirs, I was very disappointed with my recent stay at the Ramada Inn, Hollywood Beach Resort. I had reserved and rented 3 rooms for the 4th of July weekend. Rooms 779, 715, and 707 were given to me. Originally when I called I was told that the two rooms I reserved first were going to be ocean front. To my surprise, they were not.

First of all the front desk clerk tells me they have no ocean front, only ocean view. None-the-less when I made my phone reservations I was told ocean front and unless the English language has changed to accommodate the large number of immigrants we now have in Florida ocean front is a window that faces the ocean. Not a side window in which you can get a glimpse of the ocean. However, I was corrected at check out and told that ocean side is considered ocean front. I guess my English needs improvement.

Then to continue my dissatisfaction the other ocean front/ocean view room was not available because the people that originally rented extended their stay so my cousins had to be given a different room also not ocean front and at the other end of the long hallway. However, they were promised a 20% discount. Although my discontent continues I feel that at no time was anything done to make my stay a bit more pleasant.

Room 707, where my cousins parents stayed went one day without a/c. and one day with the refrigerator broken.

Room 715 did not get room service their entire stay. They had the same towels for the entire weekend, their beds were made by them, and the room also a bad gas stench. One might consider that dangerous.

Last but not least room 779 had a bathroom clog for two days. I don't understand we are paying $169.00 and the service was pathetic.

To top it off we had asked for an extension which was given to us for an extra $55.00. We were to check out at 5pm. But because by the time the bell hop brought all our stuff down it was 5:15, the front desk clerk reprimanded me as if I was a kindergarten student and she was my teacher and or mother. Give me a break. Take care of your guest before you reprimand them for and extra 15 minutes which was the hotels fault to begin with since their service was so terrible.

This was my 4th year staying here because the rates were usually good. But I can assure you it will be my last. The service and treatment was unacceptable. Oh and lets not forget how the clerk did play stupid to try and avoid the 20% discount that was promised on one of the rooms. Although it was noted in the computer she tried to ignore it. It seems to me that someone needs to re evaluate those rooms and consider reimbursing 20% on the other 2 room that also had problems. Thank you

I agreed to purchase a vacation package from them for 798.00, but I advise I can only make pymts as I can't afford to pay for the trip up front. The rep agreed to charge my debit card 99.00. After we end the call I check my account and the whole amount of 798.00 was pending on my account.

When I called customer service to complain I was told that I would not get my money back for 72 hrs. Now I don't have any available funds in my account until the hold is released. They refuse to call my bank to release my money immediately, they claim it is against their policy.

I then cancelled the whole vacation and was told I won't get the 99.00 back for 7-10 business days. I told her this is bad business practices and illegal to charge my debit card for an UNAUTHORIZED amount. She said that this is the way their independent contracted sales offices conduct business. They charge the card the full amount and offer you extra perks for the vacation if you pay for it all up front, but if you decline they issue a refund. I told her I was reporting them for FRAUD she said you do whatever you feel like you need to do.

I had to ask for food since we didn't have any and we missed the kids swim programs that they are in for the summer due to no gas. Not to mention the embarrassment from having to accept handouts from friends/family after they heard this horrible story. Oh lets not forget the emotional stress and headaches this has caused.

One hour later, we called the hotel and "Craig" was rude and said we can NOT get back into hotel room and we would have to wait until Monday to talk with the housekeeping manager. (This was Saturday) Monday we returned to the hotel to recover our missing items. The non dollar value items were returned, however the headphones and another small electronic device was missing. We were NOT offered any kind of complaint form or lost and found claim. Basically we were told to buzz off. I would like to start a small claims lawsuit against this hotel stealing items. If we were allowed back into the room 1 hour after check out, we may have recovered our items.

In May of 2003 I got a call from a rep at Ramada Plaza Resorts herein RPR. The first question the gentleman asked me was if I was still a major credit card holder. I said no, I don't use credit cards. He asked if I had a bank card with a visa or master card logo and I answered yes. He went on to tell me about the vacation plans and suggested it was for myself and husband; in which I said I was single and would be going alone. He then said fine 'you can take the vacation by yourself'. He led me to believe I could take advantage of the offer as a single person. After hearing the details about the vacation I explained that I was disabled. I told the guy that I was a survivor of 6 brain surgeries, 2 major heart attacks, the lost of my right eye and that I was facing more surgery. He included that he was sorry for all I had been through and said 'you could use a get-away and we'll make everything comfortable and handicap accessible for you'.

I asked if it were one of those deals where you are obligated to go and or a time sharing offer. He said 'no'. He then went on to tell me how I could pay in installments because of my fixed income situation. And the payments began. I called RPR in November 2004 because I had to have total hip replacement and my heart problems worsended. I then learned that the vacation was in fact for double occupancy and had to pay for another person. I asked to speak with upper management and was told that was impossible. I was told that I could not ever get what monies I paid to them back and that I had to extend the expiration date; so I paid to extend in order to buy time to figure out what I could do to resolve the matter at hand.

In 2005 I had to have my left knee replaced, 2006 my right knee and learned that medication induced osteoperosis had caused multiple fractures to my spine. I called RPR again to learn that they would not be yielding and return my money and wound up paying for another extension. I asked about the car rental agreement included in the package and submitted that I did not have a major credit card which was required by the sponsoring car rental company/Alimo. I learned more and more that I would not be able to take the vacation as the truths about the package were unfolding. To date, I have gotten reports of the RPR vacation package from 3 family members and 8 friends who all told me RPR would not be able to accomadate my wheel chair escpecially on the ship/boat and how much money I would have to come out of pocket with; the pro's and cons were devistating to say the least.

On today, June 18, 2008 I spoke with a RPR rep by the name of Dale. He advised me that I had paid $494 and had a balance of $902 before I could take the trip. He went on to say that I could upgrade and the balance would then be $398. I told the guy I wanted to opt out and how I felt violated as a consumer inwhich he replied 'the only thing you can do is pay the balance of $902 or upgrade to pay-off balance of $398 and try to sell the 'time share' or transfer it. I replied by saying that I intend to find out what my legal rights are and how best to dissovle my association with RPR without suffering a total lost.

my husband answered a call that had basically said ramada ft lauderdale florida (in some shortened form) on the caller id and said i was not home. He was informed by a keisha that i had been choosen to participate in some sort of travel survey. He was told they only choose so many people from our area to participate and we would be contacted via our email address if choosen; at which point he gave her my email address and some sort of promo code.

Surpirse surprise we were choosen to particpate and we had recieved a 5500. vacation package to orlando, vegas and mexico. I was to say the least skepitcal from the beginning and did not answer any of the repeated call the next few days. My husband did answer a call on Saterday and we dicussed the details of the trip that are not like what other people have said. At one point she asked for his credit card number to guarantee the trips and said nothing about charging the card . . . and i asked will anything be charged to the card and the reply was no and nothing was even said at this point beyond 198.00 in fees.

I used to work at hotel front desk and asked that question beacuse i wanted to make sure that it was just to hold the reservations. We then go about confirming details and i get put on hold so she can print the tickets and was about to be transferred to another department to confirm shipping and she comes back on the line saying that my card had insuffiecent funds (which i knew) and then she added that another 698. was also needed. The sales person was nice enough to give a week to clear some room on the cc to put some money down and get the info package sent out.

After reading the laundry list of complaints about this company i told my husband to phone our cc company and stop any payments. it turns out that they tried our card 30 time for amounts ranging from 719. down to 80.0. He then phone the ramada and told them to cancel the vacation package( which they have no record of because the cc would not approve) and that if they did he would dispute the charges and they would be fined. At least we have a leg to stand on here . . . the cc is soley in my husbands name and i was the one who gave the name and number over the phone (he was never asked ti authorize the charge) and i asked if anything was going to be charged to the card and was told no. I can honestly say that for once i am glad that my cc was maxed out and that a recent payment had not yet been processed. I may have saved us a bunch of money.

Then when I explain I'm calling to book reservations I hold for more than 30 - 45 minutes.

So far, I have elected to forego the dream cruise to the Nassau Bahamas because of all the infornation I have received regarding the bogus Imperial Magesty boat I don't think it even qualifies as a ship. I am currently trying to connect with the bonus department representative to book my Puerta Villarta vacation. Did I mention I have had this fabulous vacation package for over a year? Yes, I got jilted into the $198 extend your (port fee) vacation scam. Mind you I booked my AA tickets within 15 minutes on the phone last night. Wanta bet how long it will take before I secure my Mexico resort reservations? So far I have held on three different occassions 30 plus minutes.

Currently I have invested $1000 in this Ramada Resort vacation. This does not include air fare. I will not be taking the cruise or the time alloted in FL (Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando). I have yet been successful in securing my reservations in Mexico. I must secure these reservations 60 days prior to travel date. YIKES!

So now they are threating me saying if I dont finish the payment that they will send it to collections. I received this vacation package as a gift for graduation (my Ph.D.) It was a gift from my mom, who I knew didn't have a whole lot of money, so this was a big deal for her...something she was really proud of giving to me. My husband and I had to extend the vacation a couple times due to new jobs, new baby, etc (we obviously never read the horror stories yet). We finally were able to book the vacation for this summer, July 2008. However, Skybus, just went under (the airline we were supposed to fly to FL). We didn't have another $1200 to spend on airfare, so I called to cancel. So you can only imagine, things got ugly.

Not only were the people rude and not listing to me, but they were making up stories. When "Brigette" was telling me that we were less than 45 days out from our cruise that we would be assessed $100 penalty each, I said, no, I wouldn't pay that. Then, I did the math and realized we were about 48 days out from "the cruise". So, the supervisor, Angela Chambers got on the line, and said "no, no, no Brigette, what you meant to say was 60 days". So they are contradicting themselves.

Anyway - I resorted to lose the $200 and just wanted a refund, but they said no, it was outside the 30 days of when I booked my trip. But, when I called immediately after Skybus went under, the lady whom I spoke with then, of course said, "just look around, try to find something else, and if not, we can refund later". Well - later came and no money.

I have since cancelled my dates of travel being forced to acknowledge an up front fee of $200 if we were to book again. Sadly I wanted to make this vacation special for my family and already paid for the upgrades, so right now I am out over $1000. I have contacted my bank to see what recourse we might have, since we have not received any goods yet. I am out greater than $1000 plus the cost of the initial vacation that my mom paid for, plus my dignity.

We paid $99.00 to upgrade our cabin on a "free" cruise from twin beds and no window to a double/queen bed and a window. We got a window but still had to endure twin beds. The Imperial Majesty Cruise Line would not upgrade us because we went through Ramada Plaza Resorts. The window was behind the tv in a corner so you could not really see out of it. We booked our cruise months in advance so there should have been plenty of time to book the correct room. We didn't get the upgrade we requested for the $99.00 it cost us.

I purchased a vacation package from Ramada Plaza Resorts on 1/10/2007 after a call from one of their representatives. Due to family illness I waited until around March or April of 2008 to contact them to see if the package was still available. I was told that it was and that I could have an extension on the package expiration date. Once, I found out that I could still use this package I explain to a male representative name Dennis that I need to confirm travel dates with my daughter who would be traveling with me. It would be trip for my daughter's birthday. He said he could only hold this extension for a few hours but I needed to give my credit card information in order for him to do so. I gave him my credit card information with the understanding that he was not use it until I called him back with confirmation dates of arrival, etc.

I called him back within two hours and told him that I would not take the vacation package and to cancel. He said that my card would not be charged. He was not give an arrival date to start the vacation or authorization to charge my account. On May 14, 2008 I noticed on my April credit card statement two charges from Ramada Plaza Resort, one for $118 and other for $347 both charged on April 5, 2008. I tried to call Ramada that same day but their office was closed.

I called them the next day, Mary 15, to informed them of the incorrect charges. The representative I talked to would not allow me to speak to management to dispute these charges. She said she would handle it. This did not happen. What I got was a preson who argued with me, talked over me, tried to show me what I would loose, and just rude. A second person (a man) got on the line and was just as rude...telling me that I had authorized the charges...would not listen to reason...became very intimidating and raucous. They continue to agrue until I had to disconnect the call. I contact my credit card company and said they would take over and handle these charges with Ramada on my behalf. I was told by my credit card company that those charges would be credited to my account. Thank God I used American Express card. They made me feel like a valued customer.

I had already paid close to that much initially. They said it was for Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale and Vegas it was not if you went to Orlando it was more money. The whole time I got the run around.

Back in 2006 received a phone call to purchase a vacation package. Cost was 198.00. Received package a week later. Was promised I had three years to use. Didn't see that any where in package details.Anyways, no problems until a few weeks ago. Received a phone call from a man telling my package was going to expire. I proceeded to explain that had three years. He explained that I had only 18 months. I didn't want to argue with him, so I said fine. I then responded, well since this was a deposit can I get my deposit back. He said another department handles that and he would have them call me back. I didn't hear anything back for a week or two. Finally on a saturday, late morning, a really nice New York accented woman called from the same company. Only she acted like I had never been contacted about my trip that was soon to expire.

I almost upgraded like she was trying to pressure me into. She also was shocked that I only paid 198.00.Told me I didn't have a very good package and that I didn't pay all of the fees. She was surprised that I didn't pay 298.00. She said I only had today to save my trip from expiring and when I tried to get the exact date of the cancellation she couldn't tell, it was up to the computer to do it and when it does the trip lost. I told her that I couldn't do the upgrade, but could I call her back later that day. She gave me the phone number to call back. I didn't call. Since that day they have called every day, twice a day. Finally yesterday,4-29-2008 I spoke with RPR. Same pitch about my trip about to expire and pay more for extension etc. I told him if it involved paying anymore money I wanted nothing to do with it. He didn't like my stern no's and hung up on me.

I didn't answer the phone for awhile, I thought it was telemarketers. Caller Id labeled the company name as BESM. Several family members got tired of answering the phone and either getting hung up on or asking to hold and a representative would be right with them. Only economic damage is I am out 198.00 on my credit card plus interest and I didn't get a benefit from it. Relieved that I didn't give them anymore money. Not expecting a whole lot to get done but would like my money refunded. I didn't realize what a scam this was until googling and finding this website. Any help greatly appreciated.

I asked to talk with someone else about this matter and a male who did not identify himself answered the phone hey baby what can I do for you talk to me. I asked him about the fee and told him it was not anywhere in the letter I had recieved and that I would not be able to pay this and he rudely told me he would not book my trip he told me to read my confirmation and I have and that is not mentioned anywhere in the letter I have in front of me.

The letter states the only thing we would be responsible for is the room tax upon arrival. At the beginning of the phone call when talking with keisha I told her what we paid for the trip and she said you paid $300.00 fior your trip like she was shocked. We booked this trip through Palm Tree Travel out of West Palm Beach , Fl and of course the are out of business. There should be some type of law against this or a way people like my husband and I should be refunded our money since the companies are breaking their written contracts.

I have been reading reviews on the ramada plaza and how so many people have already been through this nightmare. People like this should be stopped. My husband and I work very hard for our money and just wanted a relaxing vacation and now we are out of $300.00. We originally participated in the offer but were unable to schedule the trip. The resort company called offering an extension of time of course at another additional cost. Because we had hoped to take this trip we participated also with this offer.

We have now received another phone call stating that we have won the amazing upgrade and an extension of the time for the trip however, they want us to pay the remaining balance of the trip. I stated that we had already extended the time so why was it necessary for us to pay the remaining balance. I was then transferred to a manager who became very rude and beligerent in our conversation. It became so bad that I finally had to hang up on the manager due to the fact that there was no longer a conversation taking place.

Further contact with the Felix sales person did not offer any hope for a resolution of this matter and we are now under the assumption that our pre-paid monies have been forfeited. Throughout this entire process we have been mislead and received constantly changing information.

After a 45 minute conversation with 7 different staff and several different answers, I requested a full refund. I was told, NO!

Note everytime you have a conversation with this company write names, date and time, and numbers down.

Here is what I did. I notified my credit card companies and filed disputes. I then wrote a letter to Daniel Lambert and sent it certified/return receipt. They said that I only paid for one person, and the package was for two people; and I would have to pay the $498. Then my cruise trips would be free, of course, and so would be the Las Vegas package. All the other packages also would be free after I pay the expense to get there.

So I am paying $998 for an Orlando vacation that I could pay 1/2 that for. When I asked for a refund, they said I would have to make reservations and attend a part of the trip before I could lodge a complaint; and then it would go to a review board, and they would determine whether our trip was dissatisfying to us in order for us to get our money back. They would also determine how much we would be refunded. So we are out $498 to date because I am not spending another $498 to see if I can get my money back--because we all know I won't.

I purchased the 'great' vacation package before checking on line. I still tried to go into this with a positive attitude and enjoy my time. That would have worked better if the hotel in Orlando was not so horrible. The rooms were so dirty I wore my shoes the entire time. There were partiers in the hallway all night, and it was just a dirty awful hotel. We upgraded to the ocean front in Ft Lauderdale (thank goodness) but still found the place to be lacking cleanliness. I asked after viewing my room if perhaps they had made a mistake because the room was not cleaned: witness empty booze bottles in the closet, hair on the sheets and nothing had been vacuumed. We got another room and just gritted our teeth.

The cruise - well, yes, the boat did have a lot of beautiful wood and the food was good. That's pretty much it. Alamo forced, forced, forced upgrades. All in all - people can plan a better vacation on their own at the same price. Oh yeah, they apparently are not affiliated with Ramada Inns, and this agency sells you for $500 to the time share folks. My recommendation - take the loss and try to cancel. We still put a lot out of our own pocket with upgrades, taxes, surcharges, etc. I honestly can say it was the worst planned vacation ever.

I paid them half of the money for a trip for my wife and me for a cruise and free passes for two to Disneyworld. The rest was to be payed 60 days before departure, and it was arranged that I had three years to plan this trip because I was told that I could invite others to go along with us for additional fees but discounted. The prices were to be: KID's 2 yr ($79.00); 12 yr ($98.00); 13 yr & older ($198.00). They were supposed to send me a DVD showing an overview of the ship and the boat and places that the trip included. I told them that this is great because my wife is scared of the water, and I could show her how big the boat is and how nice it would be, that there would be nothing to worry about. My wife was still at work, and we couldn't discuss this before committing to this trip, I was to have statutory period of 7 days after receiving this package with this DVD and reservation forms, etc. While discussing all of these details, it was arranged by Debra Simpson, with the OK of her manager Scott (1-954-485-6031). Neither one of them are there now. Instead of the 18 months to pay the rest, I was to have three years to prepare and invite my guests and be able to pay the rest sixty days before a travel date.

When my wife got home from work that night I told he about the trip that I had planned and that we were going on a cruise. She told me that she was not getting on a boat. I told her to wait till you see the DVD before making your decision. Then some time later the reservation forms came in the mail, and no DVD!. So I called them and explained this and that I would like to cancel. (My wife who is from the Philippines told me that we don't have to go on a cruise; we could just vacation at the resort and go to Disneyworld or Universal Studios and whatever we wanted to do.)

So the priced was reduced from $698.00 apiece to $590.00 for me and $398.00 for her. I wanted to cancel still but we were offered free meals for two as long as it was at the hotel. I agreed and told her I would still like to get a DVD of the cruise so that perhaps I could talk my wife into the cruise. I never recieved the DVD, called a couple of times to see what happened and got the felling I was being brushed under the rug. Frustrate, I just figured that we would just go and have a look around Florida and go to Disneyworld when the time came. Now it must be 18 months later, and they are calling me and telling me that my vacation is delinquent; and I need to pay the balance or lose my vacation, telling me that the full price is due for the cruise. I was trying to figure all this out and asked why they say a cruise, that they never sent the DVD, and tried to explain the agreement I thought we had made. They got snotty. I got mad and told them if they wanted to steal my money amnd vacation, fine, and they said fine--and we both hung up! WHAT CAN I DO?

I'm out $590.00 and am feeling very upset. I had to tell my wife about losing the money and the vacation to Disneyworld--and her having to explain to her niece, sister and her husband, and my son (our potential guests) that the trip is off!

Recently my wife and I were involved with a vacation package program from Ramada Plaza Resorts that turned out to be one of the worst experiences we have encountered. We are hoping that you can keep other folks from making the same mistakes. In summary we responded to an unsolicited phone call promising a first class deluxe vacation from Ramada Inns for a somewhat reasonable cost of $1,396 complete. The one condition was that we attend a vacation ownership presentation. I used to travel considerably and had favorable experiences with and trusted the Ramada Inn name. I agreed to the proposal.

We were sent a package that on the surface supported what the telemarketing representative had said (knowing what I know now, I can see that the presentation is very vague with details and lets the viewer jump to conclusions). In approximately the September 2007 timeframe my wife and I decided to schedule the trip and called the customer service line. While there was a small wait time on the phone we were processed reasonably quickly. When I called to make my reservations, the operator kept requesting me to upgrade my package. When I questioned all of the upgrades he informed me that I had purchased only a basic package that possibly included regular hotels instead of resorts, inside cabin on the boat, and very few extra amenities. I was very disappointed that a respected name like Ramada was behind this, was told that I could not get my money back and was led to believe that I had to take it. I contacted Ramada Plaza Resorts again to talk with a manager but was told that they would do nothing but charge me a $100 cancellation fee for each booking and still not get a refund. We also followed up with a letter and received no response.

My wife and I decided that we should go anyway rather than lose the $1,396 and expected a standard level of hotel and service. We drove down and arrived at the Ramada Plaza Resort on January 3, 2008. We found the hotel to be very old and run down. We couldn't even get our TV to work for the first half hour after it was turned on. We were not allowed to check in early so that limited the first day for any sightseeing; the second day we were scheduled for and attended a vacation ownership in mid-afternoon so the second day for sightseeing was lost. The third day we were scheduled to sail to the Bahamas so we could not visit any sights. Every time I tried to talk with someone regarding issues I was sent somewhere else to wait in line. When I checked out, I was charged $12 a day in taxes and surcharges. I tried to explain that we were on a prepaid package and they claimed that we were responsible for the charges. They refused to explain what the $8.90 surcharge and resulting taxes were for. My wife and I were very disappointed with the trip at this point in time but felt that the cruise would be good as we have been on three wonderful cruises before.

We arrived at the Sea Port and found the ship to be half the size of a regular cruise ship (the only one of this size) and visually in far worse shape. We tried to call the Customer Service Center at least six times and received busy signals, were on hold indefinitely or if the line was answered, was a voice mail requesting the caller to leave a message. I left my cell number several times. There was a storm scheduled for that evening. My wife and I did not want to go out on the ocean in what we considered a very small boat so we left messages that we had to cancel the remainder of the vacation and left for home.

Our complaint is that we were very misled when we purchased the vacation in good faith and with trust in the Ramada Inn name. We incurred considerable additional cost and time driving from Arizona to Ft. Lauderdale Florida (Automobile, lodging and meal expenses). Every time I tried to contact Ramada Inn Resorts, I was told that I had to contact the Customer Service number. Every time I tried to contact that number I was put on indefinite hold once they find out I have a complaint (I usually give up after 15 to 20 minutes). I leave numbers for a return call and they never call. I can only assume that they are in it for the short haul and trying to take advantage of as many unwary people as possible.

$2500, over a week of driving in a car and considerable stress over the situation.

I recived a $1600 voucher in the mail from Ramada Plaza Resorts informing me that due to my good credit and financial history I am being awarded with this luxurious vacation and to call the toll free number mentioned above. I called the number and spoke with Drew Mullins at Ramada Hotel. He explained to me that this was a one time offer only which included a 3night stay at a top class resort, all meals paid and includes a cruise on a top class luxorius ship with a large buffet and more perks. Then he passed the phone to a manager named David and David told me that I must pay $798.00 right away because after the phone call I will not get this discount. I was reluctant to pay but he was very persuasive and pushy. He also informed me that I can bring three people with me at no extra cost and in addition to this, a rented car will be provided, again no extra cost. I ofcourse then, paid the money for which I was promised a reciept to my email right away. But I recieved no such thing and the money was taken from my credit card. I fell for this because Ramada is a well known chain of hotels and I wasn't expecting them to be fraudulent. I then went onto the internet and searched for the resort on google, just to see how it looks. But the search result showed me an exact copy of the voucher I recieved and explained how millions have fallen for this fraudulent voucher. I am sure you have recieved many complaints about the same thing before. I have not actually gone on the trip and after discovering its a fraud, I don't plan to. Now they will not even refund me my money. This is absolutely illegal and unfair to run this practise and taking advantage of people who trust Ramada as a recognized hotel. I hope you will help me get a refund.

I booked everything through these people, my flight, car rental everything. My wife is disabled so we told them we would need a wheelchair at the air terminal to take her from our arrival to the connecting flight. It wasn't there and we didn't have enough time to get there so we missed our flight. When we finally got to Orlando we went to the Alamo rental car that I had rented in advance. There was a line of some where between 150 to 200 people in line to get a car and when I called them to find out why I wasn't able to just punch in my rental number and pick up my car they told me I would just have to wait my turn. The reason I had pre paid for all this was so my wife wouldn't be stuck setting in these places.

We finally got to the Ramada and it was a dump which we checked out of and rented a room at Holiday Inn Express, which was much better place to stay at a cost of $226. On the rental car I was told that I would be able to drop it off at Alamo while we were on the cruise and pick it up afterwards. When we got back we waited at the Port of Miami for 1hr and 30min for a shuttle that is supposed to run every 20 min. When I finally got to Alamo with receipt they had told me to hang onto, I was told that once I brought the car to them I had to rerent another car which I did. By the way the convertible they gave me in Orlando the top wouldn't come down.

We then got our vouchers for the Ocean Point Resort and proceeded there where we checked in. When we picked up the vouchers the man there got me to put up a $100 dollars for dinner cruise tickets and told us that the $100 dollars would be reimbursed when we went the next morning for their presentation. Well we went on the dinner cruise which was decent. When we returned to our Hotel there wasn't any parking anywhere. I circled the lot for two hours. I went inside and asked the lady at the desk where we should park and she just shrugged her shoulders at me. I had my parking pass on my dash which was worthless since they had a club there and all the parking spaces were filled with people in the club. Finally the security guard came outside and told me to park as far out of the way as I could and he would call me when there was a vacant parking space. I did and about one hour later they called and I went down and moved the car.

The next morining we went for our 8:30 appt to listen to the presentation but at 9:40 they still hadn't started. This was when I told them they could keep my $100 because I wasn't going to listen to anymore from them. My wife then told them to write our name down and make sure they never call us again. We left there and went back to Ocean Point Resort and checked out and rented another room elsewhere so we wouldn't have to go through another night dealing with the most irresponsible group it has ever been my misfortune to meet. I spent more money on the worst so-called vacation in my life. If they ever call me again my first call will be to an attorney.

My wife, with a bad heart condition, and I have never been so stressed. I had to go rent rooms that we felt fit to stay in.

After a long description of a seven-night, eight day travel package, during which, among other lies, I was told I'd have an ocean-facing room in a beach front luxury resort, an exterior cabin on the Empress Majesty ship with a porthole/window, an arrival date of 3/29/08 in Ft. Lauderdale and a departure date out of Orlando on April 6, etc., I agreed to pay $898. It was a hard-pressure sell because I was told I couldn't think about it and call back later; it had to be paid right then and there. After the call, I researched the package and read literally hundreds of recent complaints about the company, the hotel properties, etc. It was frightening.

Also, I had been told by Alan Harrold that I could book the trip immediately by calling the customer service number he'd provided. That wasn't true. I called every day, twice a day, and they did not have my information until OVER 72 hours after I'd made the payment. The promised dates were unavailable, the ship cabin was NOT an exterior, etc. I had tried numerous times from Tuesday 1/29/08 to Saturday 2/2/08 to cancel, but no one was willing to help me, I was transferred from person to person, and David in Sales finally said no refunds in California, period. That's when I decided to take action. Florida should NOT allow a business like this with hundreds of lawsuits and consumer complaints to stay in business, and the Postmaster General should NOT allow mailings to go out from Ramada Plaza Resorts.

I was charged $898 on my American Express card.

I just wanted to share my short experience with this company. I purchased this package thinking WOW what a great deal for $798.00! I would get the cruise, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando with free VIP tickets to Universal Studios, Vegas and Puerto Vallarta and have 3 years to use these destinations. I have worked in the travel industry for 12 years and have been on fabulous 'Fam trips'. Well, that night a few hours later, I googled this so I could take a look at the property. I almost CRIED when this is what came up, consumer reports, rip-off reports, class action suits. Needless to say I was mortified and figured I was out of luck since I already authorized this charge. They recorded the conversation and I had to specifically say I authorized the charge.

I called my credit card company to tell them I was scammed by this company and canceled my card, but they said since it was already authorized they couldn't stop it from being posted but closed my account anyway. The next day I called Ramada and was advised my information wasn't in the system yet, so I said GREAT! Cancel it! She said well just because it's not in the system yet doesn't mean you haven't been charged and to call back within 48 to 72 business hours and they would be able to refund at that time. When I called back I told the representative that I was excited about the trip but found all of this horrible information online and that I was advised I could cancel and get a refund. After about a 15 minute speech she advised that they now have a 100% guarantee so if I took my trip I would get all of my money back if I wasn't satisfied. At this point I said I just didn't want to deal with all of this stress and problems that everyone else had and I was terrified to even go on the trip.

Well, she would not give up, so I said I would check with my fiance and call back. She also told me if I wanted I could cancel for a refund. When I called back the lady that was helping me said she wasn't able to refund if the manager already told me no. I didn't know what she was talking about. She said the previous agent transfered me to the supervisor and I was advised they would not refund. I said no, I wasn't transfered to any supervisor. This call took about a total of 1 1/2 hours. FINALLY she came back on the line and said they would refund. Now it has been a week and they refunded my entire $798.00. All I can say for the next person is do NOT wait until you get your information packet in the mail to try to cancel, this is non-refundable. Call IMMEDIATELY after reading these complaints and they will refund. I am so glad I found all of this right away or I would have been in trouble. I am so embarrassed that I even fell for this.

I was pressured by two salesmen named Keith Preston and Ivan over the phone to buy this one time offered package right then or is not offered anymore. I was reluctant to purchase under pressure but finally gave up and agreed to pay half of the trip additional cost and they offered as an incentive to have an option of 3 years to use it.

A few months later I went on the internet and researched Ramada Plaza Resorts and found out that they have the same offer available. Also, I found out that there are many unhappy people actually taking the same vacation as I purchased and there are law suits against these Ramada Plaza Resorts. A Ramada Plaza Resorts Travel saleswoman called me and told me that a $698.00 payment was received for a travel package in 2002 on my credit card. Since I have never traveled to their Ramada Resorts in Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale or taken either bonus trips to Las Vegas and Puerto Vallarta she wants me to pay another $698.00 today so that I can still travel and take all three trips. I told her that I never received in the mail back in 2002 any Informational Travel Package regarding the vacation package that she claims that I choose. Even if I wanted to travel through them I can not afford to pay another $698. Therefore, I asked for 100% of my money back and she said that I had to create a new package with the $698 paid as the down payment and that it will expire if I don't apply it today and pay them $698 more.

I feel that it is wrong that I am told that I can not get a full refund for the $698 paid and I should not have to take such a loss with no products or services rendered. At this point, I refuse to do business with this company because of their misrepresentation as well as the current multiple class action suits from consumers, like myself, who have been ripped-off and scammed of their money, in one way or the other, by this company.

The economic/financial consequences that have been incurred on myself from the Ramada Plaza Resorts in Orlando/Ft Lauderdale Vacations equals $698.00.

My fiance and I were scammed by Ramada Plaza Resorts in August, just a few weeks before our wedding. We had no time to look at the materials when they came in, and when we did (four months later), we were aghast at the numerous hidden fees and blackout dates. Plus, trying to organize all the vacations they offered looked like a nightmare. Add to that all the horror stories online, and we didn't even want to go. We wanted our money back. I set aside a morning to call Ramada. I spent probably 1.5 hours on the phone with them, getting transferred slowly from person to person (left me on hold for 15-20 minutes at a time) and finally to a supervisor (fourth person I talked to).

The supervisor I finally spoke to insisted that no refund could be given because my money had already been distributed (not my problem, their problem), that I had missed my deadline of 3 days (ridiculous, because the paperwork doesn't specify that this is the only time you can get a refund--it just hints at that), that my state only gave me 30 days to ask for a refund (but he didn't know what state I was in and couldn't tell me the exact policy for my state), that I couldn't get a refund unless I was dead, that there was no cancellations department (untrue, according to multiple reports online), that I needed a good reason to cancel (they don't need a reason, isn't their business, and tell them so). It was a long, draining conversation.

After the conversation, which did NOT result in a refund, I typed up a detailed report, including the name and ID number of every employee I had talked to, and sent it to the Florida Better Business Bureau and the Florida Division of Consumer Services. One week later, I got email from the BBB saying the company would send a full refund. Today, I checked my credit card, and the full amount has been credited back to my account. I'm still planning on sending more information to the Division of Consumer Services and a thank you to the BBB. If I can help put Ramada out of business, I would be delighted. It is possible to get a full refund from this ridiculous company...just be persistent and take notes! Good luck!

I was told by the salesman that I would have 3 years to use the vacation, as he threw in many additional bonuses. The vacation was in my husband's name. After reading many poor reviews and seeing the 60 Minutes special regarding the promotion, I elected to cancel the trip. I was very upset when I was told, very rudely, that my trip was expired and only for 18 months. I tried to explain that the salesman I spoke with assured me I had 3 years to use the trip. I also let them know that at no time was I ever told by said salesman that my trip was non-refundable. I was then treated very hastily and nastily by first Tiffany #4020, then by her supervisor Laval #4044. They both had a could-care-less attitude.

I asked constantly if there was some way we could work something out or if I could speak to another department or division in the corporation, but was told they were the final answer regarding my issue. I could not believe that they were not willing in any shape or form to work with me and refund some of my trip fee. I left the phone call feeling like I was swindled or taken advantage of. They offered no other solution other then to spend more money and open the trip back up. I should have read every single line in the package sent (impossible). But they are hiding behind the small print and misleading sales pitches to defend their right to keep our money. If I don't take the trip at all I should receive at least a portion of my money back. I've never written in a complaint or review of any service regardless my feelings, but I feel that Ramada Plaza Resorts so blatantly scams and misleads potential customers that something should be said. One time we were told that we had good reservations, and when I called to confirm the next day (just to be safe) I was told that there was no available space, and that it had been sold out for at least two months. One time we were within 2 weeks of driving the 1400 miles to the ship and resort, when we got a message on our answering machine stating that the ship was suddenly dry docked--and if we wanted our cruise it would be on another ship going to the western Bahamas instead of eastern which is the ONLY reason we booked with this company in the first place.

When I contacted the company, the only thing that they said they would do is refund our port charges and extend the time we had to take the vacation. We currently have invested $898.00 after the port charges were refunded. We tried to book in Dec. of 2007 for the first week of January and were told that Carnaval Cruise Lines wasn't running a ship on that week but would be back on line after Jan. 2 or 3. On Jan. 11th I tried holding on the phone hearing their sales spiel for almost 30 minutes. The advertised wait time was approx 3-4 minutes. We just want what we paid for or a refund. Is this a Ghost company? They seem to disappear when it is time to make good on their end of the bargain. They refuse to refund our money, and I am tired of scheduling our vacation time around something that isn't available.

Paid $1,196.00; refunded $298.00 = $898.00 which is due back, plus approx 10 hours total time on the phone , stress of lost time on special vacation (for my birthday).

My husband bought this trip as a birthday present in April 2005 and kept it a secret from me until November 2005. He did not realize at the time that my mother would be diagnosed with cancer and eventually pass away after a lengthy battle. During this process, my father developed Parkinson's and has also had to go on dialysis for kidney failure. My family has always been a priority and the trip was put on the back burner.

I have just now started to review the information on the trip and hoping to go after the first of the year. He told me he had paid an additional charge to extend the package. After everything I have read from other customers, I am terrified of taking the trip.

I am in terrible need of a semi-peaceful get away. I know that all trips have problems, but if this is as bad as others say, I am afraid I will end up in the looney bin. Caring for elderly parents for this length of time has me emotionally and physically exhausted. I could really use this dream vacation, but would rather stay home if it is going to be in substandard conditions and one headache after another.

I signed up for a free Ramada Plaza vacation package. They asked for a deposit of $249.00 so that they could send the package out. I gave them a credit card number, and they charged my card. After reviewing the package I mailed back the cancellation form certified mail within three days. I called to check on my refund and was told that I could not receive a refund. I then filed a complaint with the BBB of Florida, and the company replied and said they would refund my card. My refund was never credited.

I have been stressed as well as in an economic hardship.

I purchased a package from Ramada Plaza Resorts shortly after my engagement (thinking it would be perfect for our honeymoon and next couple anniversaries). Upon purchasing the trip, we convinced them to cut the cost of the trip as well as extend the time of use to 3 years because we are college students who knew we would absolutely not be able to use all of the trips in only 1 1/2 years. We went on our honeymoon to Florida and Nassau. While it was by no means as beautiful as they had convinced us, we were still content.

A few weeks ago we received a phone call from the Florida Ramada company trying to sell us on another trip (which we refused) but first she had said something about our package being expired, which would not have been correct. This led me to call Ramada Plaza Resorts main line and ask questions about our package. They have our package as being expired at the 1 1/2 year mark. I complained and was told there was nothing they could do. I asked for a supervisor and was told that one would call me back.

A week and a half later, with no word from the company, I called again. I got through to a supervisor who was insistent that there was absolutely nothing they could do for me because I do not have a confirmation number regarding the extension. I explained that I did not know I needed one because it was supposed to be part of the entire package in which my trip number would serve as my confirmation. After arguing and being put on hold multiple times, I was still told that the only thing I could do is purchase another year for almost $90. I told him that was not an option and that we would not have purchased the trip if we were only to have 1 1/2 years to use it. The conversation ended with him saying there is nothing more he can do.

We paid well over $1000 for the package which was to cover many more trips and now we will not be able to use those trips without paying for more time.

We got a great car (paid small amount for an upgrade), not bad hotel(Orlando) and great resort(FtL) and the Regal Empress was a great ship for the 2 nights (food was wicked good!).

Like so many others I too fell for this vacation of a Lifetime The brochures and DVD they sent can't possibly be the same place. the Ramada in Ft.Lauderdale was old and dirty. The odor in the hallways was nauseating. The floors were stained and the bathtub didn't drain.

The Ramada in Orlando was almost as bad. This time the bathtub drained but we had to wait the best part of an afternoon before we had a useable toilet.

The cruise was okay except there again it cost quite a bit more than we were told. $15 a day for parking as well as gratuities and tips for services not rendered. The best of all was the free car. It came to over $400.

The consequences are that I will be paying for this vacation of a lifetime for a long time to come. If i had any idea that the brochures were so far from the truth I would never have been so foolish.

Like many others on this site, I received a voucher in the mail for $1600 in early Aug of 07 and I called the 800 number to see if this was for real or not. I spoke with a representative name Erica who tried to convince me to buy this vacation package for $698. She transferred me to a sales clerk who convinced me that if I upgraded to a $798 package I would be getting a much better deal. He made the offer sound very nice so I agreed to buy it.

I called the next day to cancel and finally got through to another aggressive sales clerk who immediately asked me what happened. I told her about this site and she tried to brush it off as nothing major. She requested that I view the DVD that was sent to me in the mail before I decide whether I wanted to cancel. I then informed her that based on the responses on this site, I was fully aware of the 3 day period that I have to cancel and that by the time I received the DVD and vouchers in the mail, that 3 day period would be long gone. Her only response was, that's not true.

She transferred me to the cancellation department and even THIS woman from this department tried to give me a sales pitch. I immediately cut her off, told her that I wasn’t interested, and just want my refund. She graciously complied, verified my card number, assured me that the full amount will be recredited to my card on the next billing statement, and then gave me a refund confirmation number. Four days later, the full amount of $798 that I paid was recredited to my Visa. I just want to say thanks to yahoo, this website, and you guys for saving me from these creatures.

I work at the White House as a systems engineer. I have stayed at countless Ramadas, where as my job requires traveling, and I have always been pleased. After I had paid in full I asked a representative were there any other expenses I would have to pay and he reassured me that the only other expense I would be responsible for would be the gratuity on the ship. Upon arrival at the Ramada Plaza Resort Ft. Lauderdale, I was absolutely horrified at the condition of this hotel. The staff was not well maintained they were rude and had no knowledge of the surrounding areas or the hotel. The hotel hallways had a disgusting stench of filth. The pool was over crowded, unkept, and reeked of urine.

The hotel room itself was old and unclean. The bathroom floor was unclean as well as the tub. The wallpaper was peeling and looked to have dirt in every crevice. The floors were riddled with untreated stains that looked to be Petri dishes for fungal bacteria. If all this was not bad enough the comforter had stains from God knows what and holes. The mattress was hard, thin and sunken in. The window, which was unable to be opened, had what looked like mold all around it. We had driven for 16 hours and were too tired and to scared to go get another hotel.

The cruise was no better. The pool was disgusting and depleted. The color of the water was always green and it was never full. The rooms were incredibly small. My family which consist of 4 members was provided with a room that had two stationary less then twin size beds, one pull down bed and a roll away bed that had no space to be unfolded. There was not enough space for the four of us. We are experienced cruisers and we know the rooms are small but this was ridiculous.

I bought 3 Orlando Vacation packages from Vision Marketing & Associates, Inc. in August 2005. The packages were described as 3 nights accommodation at the Ramada Plaza and 2 Universal Studios 2-day tickets, at a cost of only $99.00 each. I booked 2 packages for 13th November 2006.

When we checked in at the Welcome Center in the Ramada, we were told that we had to take the time-share tour to qualify for the hotel rooms and the Universal Studios tickets. This requirement was not part of the original offer, and I refused.

Since it was in the evening, and the manager was not there, we were given hotel vouchers for the first night only, and told to see the Welcome Center manager the next day. I saw him next morning, and what a horrible experience that was!

This nasty little scumbag, Philip, was rude and offensive. His job was not to welcome Ramada's guests, but simply to make sure every body went on the time-share tour. I again refused, and we paid the hotel direct for our rooms for the second and third nights (only $40.00 per night!).

The original packages were paid for by credit card, so I disputed the payment on the grounds that the services paid for were not delivered. Mastercard refunded the full amount for all 3 packages, and confirmed a few weeks ago that my claim was successful.

They insisted I had to take advantage of this offer then or it would be lost forever. I agreed and they had someone read off a rambling for about five minutes, talking so fast I could barely understand them. I was told I could book the second half of the trip within 18 months and pay the second half at that time.

I was continually harassed by the customer service dept, trying to pressure me to pay for the second half of my trip. My husband and I were both Active Duty Military and didn't have a lot of leeway with leave. Then my husband got orders to a 2-year school in TX, so it would be three years before we could take this vacation.

The CSR informed me that they had a special deal for military members that would extend our vacation for 8 years, plus he would upgrade the cruise, as long as I purchased the second half of the vacation. This was a lie. The CSR I spoke to tonight said the best they could do was extend me another 15 months, plus I had to pay an extra $200 for the cruise upgrade. No refunds.

In the early part of 2004 I received a package saying I won this wonderful vacation package. I was told it was a $3500 value I was getting for only $698 and I had to have someone else purchase a ticket for the same price. We were told we had 18 months to use the vacation. Things happened and we were not able to go. When I called I was told I could reserve my tickets for another 36 months for an additional $200. Since the tickets included so many trips I agreed. I believed I purchased a trip to the Bahamas,Las Vegas, and two trips to Mexico.

When I called 60 days in advance to reserve my trip to the Bahamas I was told for $200 more I could get a picture window for better view. I had to pay $149 each for boarding fees and I would have to pay the taxes on the room. Since we drove our own vehicle we also had to pay for parking. The reservations were from 4-2 until 4-10. We were told we had to arrive on 4-1 the itinerary would be mailed to us. One week before we had to leave still no itinerary so I called for David. I was assured he would overnight the package and he even gave me directions to the hotel.

It's time to leave and still no package. So we just pray that when we get there everything is arranged. When we arrive the hotel is pretty far from the beach but it wasn't bad. When we check into the welcome center we find out we are going to Cozumel instead of the Bahamas and we do not have a room for the extra days we were promised. Well it's too late to do anything now so we figure we can go to Bahamas some other time. The lady at the welcome center was very nice and she found us a room. It was also far from any beach.

The experience was not as bad as some but it was not what we were told we were getting. When we returned home I tried calling RPR and was on hold for 45 minutes. when I finally spoke to some one they said they didn't know any David Richardson and there was nothing to be done about the cruise. I asked about the itinerary and was told oh it was never sent. If the itinerary had been sent we would have know to bring the proper clothes for dinner with the captain (which we missed). I'm afraid that we will not be able to enjoy any of the other trips and this one was definately not worth the $2000 we spent.

WOW, I cant believe what Im reading. I wish I read these complaints before we left on our Ramada Plaza Getaway. We asked several times before leaving if this was a time share hooked package and were told no every time. I found it fishy that we had to check into a welcome center and not directly into the hotel.

Sure enough, when we arrived in Orlando our hotel vouchers were not released until we went on the time share tour. Basicaly kicking us out into the street, or pay full price, or tour the time share to recieve the benifits of our package, no way around it. We innitially gave a $50 deposit that Ramada asked for, which we had no problem with. When we arrived they also asked us for an additional $40 deposit that we would get back after the tour, also $24 for taxes and services, all of which was news to us.

After moaning about the scam to the welcome center assistants, I quickly relized we were getting nowhere fast with these people and proceded to go to the Hotel. At the Hotel desk I mentioned my frusrations to the front desk employees and they laughed telling me they hear about this complaint on a daily basis.

At this point I was so upset I didnt want anything to do with Ramada or this time share obviosly, I walked back to the welcome center and was able to get my $40 and $24 deposits back and checked out 15 minutes after I checked in. I ripped up the package and left it on the front desk. My wife, 16 month old son and I drove to Ocala (one hour away) to stay with relatives. I wont even mention the filth of the Hotel or the plans we made around this package. Believe me, this is only half the story.

Had to rush her to the local hospital at three in the morning the first night. The room we switched to was not much better at all. We asked the security guard to check for roaches, because we were scared out of our mind, but he and no one else seemed to care.

We went down to file a complaint. Room 443 has roaches, extremely large and many of them. No one was surprised, in fact, the gentleman in Welcome Center said that there have been many complaints about roaches in the rooms.

There is no housekeeping after 10:30 at night, so we had to move our own luggage and check the room ourselves. We couldn't even do this thouroughly because my daughter got so sick and I had to attend to her. Spent the night in the hospital which was almost a bittersweet relief because we didn't have to be in that hotel, even though I was worried sick about my daughter. Couldn'teven move to a different hotel the next day because she was so sick.

The following day was the cruise, which was just as horrific. Ship was terrifyingly small and OLD!!!!! Not at all as advertised. Food was substandard, I even tried to upgrade hoping it would be better, but still tasteless. Buffets offered very little selection and you had to pay for even a glass of water, which is ridiculous. Needless to say, the ship had nothing to do on it at all. Entertainment was bingo, and we could not even understand the people running it. Any other entertainment was not quality, and I am a musician, I know.

Now, when I signed up for the package I was told I could take the vacation anytime in the next 3 years. Less than a year later RPR is calling me again telling me my package is expired and I must pay the remaining $800 some dollars and they'll renew it. Or they'd cancel it and collect their $800 anyway. So of course, with that option, I paid the remainder and renewed it. So they sent me a new package. I thought I might have an out here, as the package being sent would surely have a cancellation form as did the last one. Well it did, but like the last, it was past the cancellation period when I received it.

So, I've been trying to sell this package really cheap on E-bay, but I can't give it away because everyone knows it is such a rip-off.

In March of 2005, my husband and I were persuaded (during a one time only telephone conversation) to pay a deposit of $396.00 for a Florida/Cruise. Then, I received a phone call from a RPR representative, who I found upsetting, since he was rather harsh about informing me that I hadn't taken my vacation yet. He also informed me that we would be charged a fee to extend the timeframe allowed. Today, we receive the phone call from Mr. Bowman. Actually, first it was from his associate, who informed us, our Florida package deal no longer exists. However, Carnival Cruise Line graciously offered to accommodate us on a cruise to the Bahamas, at no extra charge, and the cruise will be extended to 5 days and 4 nights. WRONG! Then, Mr. David Bowman has his turn on the line. No. For an additional 898.00, my spouse can go on the cruise. He has to have an answer today. We wouldn't be allowed to call back later, because by that time, we would no longer exist in the system.

I called the reservation hot line and asked for a full refund. The phone rep explained to that they had a no return policy and I could not get my money back.

I purchased this vacation on the phone and never received a contract or any type of literature that said this was a none refundable package. In fact we were told we could cancel at any time by the phone rep.

I just got back from the worst vacation of my life. My memories of this vacation only consist of being pressured with high sales tactics on buying timeshares and low class cruise and hotel stays. I was offered a vacation package that included everything but airfare in FL and a cruise to the Bahamas. When I was speaking to the representative on the phone they said it was only $498 because they had a special for college students. I paid $498 in full on the phone and then was told it was for 2 people or more so they said I had to pay another $498 for another person, which I was single and didnt have anyone to take on vacation with me.

Then later I paid another $598 when they called and requested I paid the balance and insisted I paid $100 upgrade to outside cabin and upgrade rental car so I wouldn't be stuck with a Geo Metro and a dark gloomy cabin on the cruise ship. Since I already invested so much I didn't want a crappy trip so I did. I decided to take my sister on the vacation since I did not have anyone else to take with me.

We arrived at the airport and picked up up our rental car from budget. I had to pay $65.50 for the rental that was suppost to be paid for. We then drove to the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale which I stayed at for 3 days 2 nights was horrible, it smelled like sulfer (rotten egg smell) and was just nasty. The water was discolored and the shower and toilet was backed up. I had to pay $12.00 per day to stay there which was supposed to be paid for already ($24.00 total).

We were told when we got there we had to go on a tour to get our tickets to go on the cruise. They told us lunch would be provided and we would goto vacation village to take a tour and pick up our cruise tickets. We got to the location and checked in. We went in a sales persons car and he drove us to a park and then drove us around and started talking about resorts and buying the vacation of our dreams. We wasted half the day being pressured into buying timeshares. They would'nt let us out of there and kept getting other people to talk to us after I said NO.

    We never got any lunch.

We got our tickets and went back to the hotel and went to bed because we were exhausted after all of that and we had to get up early to go on our cruise the next day. We arrived at the cruise docks port evergaldes in FL. We had to pay $24 for parking and boarded our Rust Bucket Ship. Our ship was tiny compared to the other cruise ships and as soon as we boarded we were given an alcoholic beverage in our hands that cost $7.25 we gave them back and said we didnt want them. The pool on the ship was tiny. The ship did not look like anything in the pictures we were given. We got to our room and there was only 1 bed when we requested 2 beds. That sucked the most because I was vacationing with my sister. I stayed up most of the night and found a lawn chair to sleep on.

When we arrived in the Bahamas I was tired from not getting much sleep so all I had time to do was walk to a few stores and get back on the boat. The food was nasty and the water was disgusting. They served the food however like a 5 star resturaunt and the staff on the boat was very friendly. The entertainment was horrible and overall was a horrible experience. I was charged $19.50 Gratuities and $20.00 fuel surcharge per passanger total of $79.00 that was unexpected and all costs were supposed to be included. Also all drinks on the ship we ordered were automatically charged 15 percent gratuity added in the bill.

We then got off the ship and drove to Orlando, FL which was the last part of the vacation we stayed 4 days 3 nights. This hotel was a little nicer than the first one but was still a dump. Peeling wallpaper, electrical sockets that were busted and hanging out, elevators that didnt work and this hotel stunk as well. We checked in and were told to go on another tour the next day. We asked if it was timeshare because we didnt want to go on another one of those and was told no it was nothing like what we did in ft. lauderdale and for going we would get 2 tickets to Arabian Knights. This hotel was also $12/day. ($36.00 total) We went on the tour and sure enough it was another time share pitch and were told when we got there we didnt qualify to get tickets to arabian knights because we were students, but eventually we got to go on a sales pitch and drove around in a ladys car and went through another harrassing sales pitch. That wasted our entire day.

The trip will cost me about $1300, without airfare. The probelem is that I have gone on the internet and found that people with the same pakage deal where ripped off. The hotels are not "beautiful water front".

I recieved a voucher in the mail and responded to it. I purchased a vacation package and paid half the amount equaling $698 with a balance of $698 to be paid when making the actual reservations. After recieving the package we decided that this was not something that we could afford at this time. I then called the 800-551-0234 and was transfered to two different people. When I finally was able to speak to a customer representive I requested a full refund of what I had paid and was told that I could not get a full refund. I explained that we could not afford this trip right now and that we needed all of our money back and was refused. My husband then called back and requested a refund. He was told the same thing.

First we would only be able to get a refund of $300. They finally said that they would keep only $175 of our money. I don't understand how they can keep that amount of money for nothing in return. We are just out of that money. I then decided that since they would not give me my money back I would file a complaint with the FTC and while searching the internet for the web address I came across this site with complaints from other people about the same problems. Some thing needs to be done about this.

When you initially talk to the sales people on the phone they make you purchase the package right then and there instead of sending you information about it or allowing for some time to think about it. They push you into it. For me this was a lot of money to spend at the spurr of a moment especially without talking to my husband. I do not recall being told that I would not be able to get my money back otherwise I more than likely would not have even considered this purchase. To me this looks like it is a major scheme to steal money from unsuspecting consumers that is dragged in by the excitement of a dream vacation with a cruise to the Bahama's. This company is using people's emotions to take their money.

An overly priced vacation. I am a college student who thought I was getting a deal, but after purchasing(they told me I had to buy the trip right then on the phone or lose out) friends told me I could have done better on priceline. So I told them they were wrong because I was getting first class accomadations. The hotels were digny and I could have booked them on my own for cheaper. They were far away from everything. In fact all the guest who were there were booked by Ramada. All of them sat around telling their horror stories.

Some who had already went on the cruise portion told us to be prepared for our trip gets worse. And they were right. I was soo excited to go on my first cruise till I saw the ship. But I tried to get past that and take advantage of the ships amenities. The pool was gross and overrun with kids. Kids were even in the hot tub with their toys. The ship claimed to put on a Vegas Style show. I saw better shows at my community theatre. At night I went to the club which was empty on both occassions. The ship then sold overpriced shore excurions. I had been to Bahamas before so I know I could buy them cheaper off the boat.

So then we get to Orlando which we only had 2 days at. The first day we had to go to the timeshare meeting. It was only supposed to be 2 hours and ended up being 6 hours. So that day was shot. We were then informed if we were to get our free Disney passes that were promised we would have to attend another meeting the next day. I decided to just purchase a one day pass to Universal. After all I knew how long their meetings were and was flying home the next day. And to top it off the food on the ship reminded me of my grammar school cafeteria.

I had to buy my own theme park tickets because I didn't want to attend another meeting. It cost me an additional 200.00 dollars to upgrade my car rental. I'm not fussy about what I am driving but there was no way me and my boyfriend could fit our luggage in that small car and drive 2 hours to our hotel.

My portion of the vacation was approx $1400. Half which I put down as a deposit, and the other half paid when I booked the actual vacation to FL. Well Thanks to Dan of Silver Springs MD, my wife and I have received nearly a FULL REFUND thus far. Our trip was much like everyone else's with the same usual suspects involved. As of Spring 2006 Daniel Lambert is still the president of this 'company'. Jennifer Hastings was still involved as well. We purchased our trip in November/December 04 and did not go on it until May of 2006. Shame on us for not doing a google search, but none the less we are all the victims here. RPR did not make good on any of the promises.

So after our terrible trip here's what I did. I copied and pasted Dan's letter (from Silver Springs, MD) to a word document. Next I exchanged his experiences with mine but kept the bulk of his writings. I sent the letter (return receipt requested) to Daniel Lambert. Shortly thereafter RPR credited my account 200 dollars and considered the matter closed. For all of you out there, don't stop their. Next I went to my ATM company and my credit card company and called them to report misrepresentation of goods/services. Apparently, it is more difficult to acquire credits from an ATM (debit card) company than a credit card company. Well about a month had passed from when I made my complaint and I heard nothing. Then without warning I had an 837.00 dollar credit to my bank account.

I called the bank to notify them of an error and they informed me that it was a credit back to my account from RPR. How nice. Finally, I have just reported the misrepresentation of goods to a credit card company and I am expecting the same result. Thus far we have received 1037.00 back and are awaiting the other 485.00. However, we can't get back the time we spent on this vacation nor the vacation time that we took for this vacation nor the spending money down there. It is somewhat satisfying to receive some (hopefully all) of our funds back though. So be persistent on getting your money back. Go to your companies where you authorized payment and complain about misrepresentation. They will work for you to get your moneies back. They have departments dedicated to doing just that. Don't give up--get your money back and out of RPR pockets!

Some months later, a woman called to authorize the package at $396 for two adults and $99 and $198 for my two children. I took the offer for my husband and myself, with the option of adding my children. It also included free car rental and tickets to theme parks.

They sent me the package but I didn't open it at the time and what I found out later is what is shown on the DVD they send you is not what you're getting. You're getting one room with two beds (the kid's quarters is on a first come, first serve bases) and the little quicky cruise is a 10x10 cabin with bunk beds. That's when everything started to become more money, more money!

I received a $1600 voucher from Ramada Plaza. I had my 22-yr old call on my behalf because I have progressive MS. As I sat with him, they got me to pay $1400 for my husband and me to go to Orlando for 4 nights, Bahamas for 2 nights, a rental car for 7 days, and 3 years worth of vacations. I trusted the name CARNIVAL and Ramada on the vouchers, but when I went on line the name carnival cruise was only on the voucher heading. It was really IMPERIAL MAJESTY CRUISE LINE.

Within 2 hours I call them back but hey would NOT cancel! I told the lady I had progressive MS and did not feel comfortable going on this voucher deal on such an old wooden floor ship - I thought it was a fancy CARNIVAL CRUISE like listed on my voucher. Natalie, the alledged supervisor was very rude. I asked for her supervisor and she hung up on me.
