I booked a hotel in Huntsville, AL through "Name your own price". Along the process, the customer is asked to select an area where he wants the hotel be located and according the policy, Priceline guarantees the hotel will be in the shaded area. I checked area 4 and double checked by opening the "detailed map". After my bet being accepted, surprise! The hotel I was given is 10 miles far from the shaded area I've chosen. I sent an email to Customer Service and they simply said the hotel was in the shaded area. I patiently simulated another booking and I replied, attaching an image of the screen (as in this post) with indications of the shaded area and the hotel's site. Actually the hotel is in an area not shaded at all; none of the areas includes that hotel. I told them the hotel would meet my needs and that was not the matter but having a customer getting what he was offered. They ignored my allegations and tried to butter me up by giving a $5 credit for the next purchase. What the hell next purchase? If Priceline is not able to admit a misinformation on its website, how can I trust them? If you want to check what I'm saying out, take a look on the area 4 in Huntsville map on Priceline's website and after find out on Google Maps the hotel: Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Huntsville.

I made a reservation through Priceline.com, 4 nights in DC. I was going to a softball camp for our child to be seen by a coach. Camp got cancelled. There is a no cancellation policy with Priceline so no refund. Fine, we were going to vacation anyway. Due to work complications, we could not make it on that date. We were told they would not credit us with the over $400 we already paid and we knew they would not refund it, but they also would not let us let our friends use the room instead. WE ALREADY PAID FOR IT. What a complete rip off. I will never, ever, ever use Priceline again. This was to be our only family vacation this year, shoot, in the past 3 years. Thanks a lot.

I recently purchased an airline ticket through Priceline at what I thought was a low price guaranteed. Three days later, I see the same flight advertised for two hundred dollars less. When I contacted Priceline, they told me that I was locked into the price and that I missed the window of opportunity to cancel (24 HOURS) or change my ticket. It was written in fine print on another page. It's not even written on my reservation page. You make sure you read all the attachment pages because they do not care about you or repeating service with you. Even Walmart gives refunds past 24 hours. Why are they allowed to do this?

I spoke to the Airline that Priceline booked through, AirTran, and they said if I had booked directly with them, they would be able to credit me the difference. I explained that to Priceline; they said there was nothing they could do. I said, "I'm not trying to get a refund but want a credit for the difference in the price you guaranteed for being the best you have to offer." There was nothing they could do about it.

I wonder if William Shatner knows about this. I'll never watch the commercial again. I thought I was being careful about purchases made online. So I say to anyone who is looking to book a flight with Priceline, don't. You are better off negotiating your own price directly through the airline. When I asked to speak to the supervisor or upper management, they said, "Hold on." A few seconds later, what sounded like the same person to me repeated the same information. I asked to speak to her boss and she said she was as high I as could go. I asked for her full name; she gave me her first name, Kathy, and her ID# **. As I waited for her to complete the information, she said she was done. That was it, they were not allowed to give out last name and that was it to her ID#. They were very polite as was I; however, I was not satisfied with their service.

I feel scammed out of my money and tricked into believing I was dealing with a respectable company that guarantees low prices. I even purchased the cancellation fee for $17. That means nothing. It's for life emergency. I'm stuck with a $335.80 ticket because I can't cancel my flight and book directly with the airline. So watch out, Priceline Customers!

I booked a room at a hotel at the end of May for travel in early July to a hotel in NYC. I booked in advance to make sure I received a good rate as well as reserve a room in a very busy city. At 1 am the day before my trip, which is 23 hours before the day of my trip, I looked up online out of curiosity to see what the prices were for my room to see if they had changed. The price was considerably lower, saving me over $170 total and because I was not within the 24 hours of my reservation, I was told I would be charged a cancellation fee if I wanted to change or cancel my reservation.

All I simply wanted was the "Best Price Guarantee" but according to customer service, that only applies within the first 24 hours of booking a reservation which I was not aware of. So, I called Customer Service to see if there was anything they could do since I was only 1 hour outside of my "24 hours" prior to my reservation and they would not offer the lower price. It's VERY DISAPPOINTING. I was not asking to cancel my reservation, just simply asking for the "Best Price Guarantee". Deceiving! I won't use Priceline again... the first and last time.

They confirmed a Red Roof which they clearly have listed as a 1 Star. I called and they will not cancel. I Hate Red Roofs and have stopped staying at them years ago. They gave me customer service and I got a girl named Lucy in Mexico. It was a worthless conversation. Any suggestions as to what else I can do?

After hours in their system trying to delete "my trips" history and calling 3 or 4 different numbers (800-259-2091, 877-850-9658, 800-340-0575) trying to speak with an actual person, all I got was automated service. I noticed they have charged me over $1200.00 and when I checked the charges, how convenient. Now, all of a sudden, I have a number where I could reach Customer Service and when they declined to assist me and cancel and credit my account, Jane employee # ** at Customer Relations, sounded like a recording, "I am sorry I wish I could have other offers but cannot cancel or credit your account as you review the purchase prior to pay (1st lie as we could never review before their site charged me)". After 2 hrs trying to make her see reason, she says she is the higher authority and can't transfer me to a higher authority, but couldn't make good customer service by helping me.

To the contrary, when I mentioned other airlines, she says, "I can cancel your reservation and you can try to buy that flight with us but there is going to be a cancellation fee of $152.00 per ticket and a change fee." Wow, and I thought they could not cancel or credit my account, but of course as long as it's for their advantage, now they can. Not only that, while trying to make her to see reason, she attempted to hang up on my husband and me many times. Simply, Priceline has no ethics or professionalism, and their employees are just recording machines with no leadership, or initiative to take actions into matters. They are simply worthless. No wonder their reviews are horrible.

Listen to me and to all the others that have troubles with Priceline in the past, I should have made a review search before I got into their site.

We called the customer service department and spoke with two representatives who were not of any assistance whatsoever. All we wanted was to have our date changed to the following day. Has anyone else had this happen to them, and how did they get the situation resolved? They took our money for the room that we will not be able to use. Thank you for any assistance.

I booked a room at La Quinta through DogFriendly.com. My car broke down the day before my departure and I wasn't going to make it to the hotel on the day I'd made the reservation for. I called to cancel but was unable to because I was outside the allotted time frame for canceling. After many phone calls, I found out that Priceline is the reason for my inability to cancel my reservation and get my $105 back. La Quinta would cancel my reservation up until 6 pm on the day I was supposed to arrive but since Priceline booked the room, I'm unable to cancel. Therefore, I've lost $105; La Quinta can't resell the room.

I recently rented a vehicle in Las Vegas through Priceline. I have ordered rooms, cars, package deals, etc through the years with Priceline and have only had one bad experience out of dozens. This is the second. During the rental process, Priceline offered insurance on the vehicle. I'm fully aware one shouldn't get the insurance on a rental as your own policy will cover any issues. I follow that advice everywhere I go EXCEPT Las Vegas. There's just too many gawkers and people not paying attention for my comfort. Indeed, the one time I didn't get the insurance, I picked up a nail in the tire sidewall. The tire was useless and I was then responsible for said tire. Had I gotten the insurance, no problem. I'm also not sure of whether or not your vehicle insurance covers the loss of time that the rental is out of commission. That’s the potential issue that scares me.

So, back to the ordering process. I couldn't remember if Priceline had ever offered insurance during the ordering process. It seems they hadn't. So I ordered it at - I believe - $13 a day, thinking that I had the part of the policy I wanted. After taxes, fees and insurance, a $7 a day rental was suddenly a $26 a day rental, $52 total. When I reached the Payless counter and was presented with the initial invoice, it was $132. It seems Payless "upgraded" me to a Hyundai Sonata without my knowledge. At $10 a day for the upgrade, the numbers still didn't add up. That’s when I found out that - according to Payless - that Priceline offers a liability policy that doesn't cover the time the car is out for repairs and they had once again added the policy on without my knowledge. After some time, the agent removed the upgrade fee and I took the additional insurance. I'm thinking I may have been at least triple insured on some areas of the rental at this point.

At any rate, who does one believe at a time like this? Either Priceline needs to be upfront about their policy or Priceline and Payless need to sit down and discuss issues. Payless may well be steering people in the wrong direction by making Priceline out to be a bad guy. And the only reason I say that is because I didn't appreciate the mystery "upgrade" offered by Payless. Priceline may well be deceiving its clientele by not telling them upfront that this is a different policy than offered by the rental agencies. At any rate, the customer is once again caught in the middle and in the process, gets screwed over by two major corporations. And if you're 6' 4", skip the Sonata. It’s just too low of a ceiling. Nice car, but too low of a ceiling.

Do NOT ever click on Priceline.com. The customer service is located in India where they still have outhouses and could give two ** if you want to enjoy your vacation. On Wed., June 26, 2013, I went onto the PRICELINE.com site because I love to watch the show Big Bang Theory and Kaley Cuoco. She is their spokesperson. So I thought, "Let me try it."

I used their Express Deals tab to get the "best rate", no bidding needed whatever. The deal stated a hotel in La Mesa close to San Diego. But Priceline booked a hotel in El Cajon, San Diego. When I look up the EL Cajon area online, these are two very different areas. El Cajon comes up as a pretty shady area. I emailed Priceline.com to let them know that I don't want to stay in a hotel in an unsafe area and to change my hotel and they told me, basically, "Oh well!" Read below:

"We have reviewed your reservation and found that El Cajon is the name of the region of your hotel reservation; however, the area you selected, La Mesa, is located within this region. Therefore, your hotel is located within the area you selected. When you were submitting your request, our website stated that your confirmed hotel could be located anywhere within that shaded area. Your reservation is non-changeable and non-refundable. As we value your business, we have sent a separate email that contains a Priceline Hotel Coupon. When you are ready to redeem the coupon, please click the link inside of the email and please make sure to review the terms and conditions carefully. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Then they followed up with sending me a $25 off my next hotel booking - as if. I am not going to use this service ever again and have already let my followers know. Don't do it. They don't know United States customer service standards, "the customer is paying so therefore always right and make them happy".

I usually use Hotels.com and only had one problem with my many reservation processes. They book my hotel perfectly. It's always clean, great price, and great location. If I have any issues, I just call the customer service and the problem is taken care of. One time, I booked a hotel in Anaheim (DISNEYLAND) and the hotel misrepresented that they had queen beds. They were more like twins; I called up Hotels.com at 1am. They apologized for the inconvenience and booked me a hotel across the street from the park, and refunded me 100% the lame hotel's fee. And the rest of our trip went perfect. They've done right every time for me, the customer - Me HAPPY ;). The customer service is located here in the US. I RECOMMEND HOTELS.COM.

I am sorry for using this service. Never again will I use or recommend Priceline.com to anybody, ever. Priceline sucks! I am scared. I hope we have a good trip?

I'm extremely surprised by the horrible reviews Priceline has received because I had an amazing, and honestly, PERFECT experience. Although, I only purchased airline tickets, so that could be the difference. Anyway, I used the Priceline Name Your Own Price to book my airline tickets. I was very leery to do this because the reason you can get such a great deal is because you don't know your airline, the time your flight will be, and you can have up to a 3-hour layover, and you won't know any of this until after you purchase your tickets.

Wanting to save money, I did this anyway. And I am so glad I did!! I ended up flying mid-morning which is perfect for me. My airline was Delta which is my favorite, and I got NONSTOP flights BOTH WAYS!!! AND on their advertisement, it says you can save up to 40% and I actually saved 44%! I have truly had an amazing experience, and I will always try the Priceline Name Your Own Price before booking any flights in the future!

On 6/24/2013 I made a Name Your Price reservation on the Priceline website. I requested a 4-star hotel and named my price. Priceline returned a Double Tree hotel at the price I selected. The hotel that was accepted is definitely not a 4-star hotel. However, Priceline has it listed as a 4-star hotel. In the description of hotel star ratings on the Priceline website, the Double Tree is provided as an example of a hotel at the 3-star and 3 and 1/2 star level. It is not listed as an example as a 4-star hotel. Hilton is a 4-star hotel, not Double Tree (operated by Hilton). Because the hotel rating conflicts with their own description of hotels and the company was grossly misleading, I requested a full refund.

I spoke with two customer service representatives, who said they were unable to process the request. Additionally, I asked that they apply their Best Price Guarantee to my reservation as I paid $145/night through Priceline and the Double Tree hotel website quotes a price of $139/night. The second representative I spoke with, Sujey **, said that she looked up the room rate online and found a rate of $169/night as the lowest rate. I took a screenshot of the rate from the Double Tree website on my computer and offered to email it to her. She said I could not do that. I also asked if we could call the hotel to clarify. She said it had to be online pricing only.

Priceline grossly misrepresented the Double Tree as a 4-star hotel (conflicting with their description online), and they refused to honor the pricing guarantee. This is fraudulent and unethical.

PRICELINE - NEVER AGAIN!! Before making a reservation directly with the Hyatt in Orlando, I checked Priceline.com, and found that they were offering a 13% discount for Florida residents with the advance purchase through them. So I booked with Priceline.com, and paid in full with my credit card, at the time of purchase. They told me that the regular room rate was $169.00, and with the 13% discount, the rate would be $146.67. I later discovered that the regular room rate was $149.00 - not $169.00!!! $149.00 less 13% = $129.63.

I called Priceline Customer Service to get a credit for the difference, and after speaking to a Customer Service Rep who did absolutely nothing about it, I asked to speak to his Manager, who also would do nothing about it. Once they process your credit card, they are done with you, case closed. So, I was overcharged by Priceline - I didn't get the discount they advertised. I only saved a whopping $2.33 off the regular hotel room rate.

Their Customer Service Department is absolutely worthless. Why do they bother having one at all, if they don't care about good customer relations, and correcting errors that they have made. So, buyers beware. Before booking hotels with them, check the hotel directly to see what special deals and rates they are offering, and you don't have to tie up funds in advance on your credit card.

After years of using Priceline.com, I was fooled by the advertising campaign to use Express Deals for my upcoming trip. Leery of the process, I also bought the travel insurance just in case something happened. The hotel comps, according to Priceline.com, were Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn but when I actually booked the hotel, it was a lower-end chain. I called customer service (in the Philippines) and got nowhere, other than being told the insurance is good for: 1) illness, or 2) death. So I suggest you take to your Twitter account and let everyone know these guys are bad news. I also called Priceline.com HQ and left a message for the CEO, Mr. Jeffrey Boyd at 1-203-299-8000 about my disappointment.

It is shocking to see how little regard Priceline.com has for their customers. As a businessman, I am amazed at the total lack of a methodology to resolve complaints. Perhaps this is the reason that of roughly 5600 employees, only 1400 are located in the US. My rating for Priceline is MINUS 1 star. My husband thought he was talking to the hotel when he booked the room when actually he was talking to Priceline. Priceline takes the entire fee out of your account immediately when you receive a confirmation number so you may still be on the phone with them when they charge your credit card and they NEVER refund your money. The rate was not cheaper for the hotel room. When our plans changed due to personal issues, we were unable to cancel or change the reservation. The money was already taken out of our account. Beware, do not book through Priceline. If there are any problems with the hotel such as extremely uncomfortable beds, unclean rooms, bugs, mold in room, etc. you are stuck. The hotel will not work with you or help you because you booked through a third party. It is a waste of time to call Priceline. I called in to inquire on a car rental promotion. I was greeted by a man that had an accent so thick that I couldn't make out but every 3rd or 4th word and he spoke extremely fast. As I was telling him to slow down, he wouldn't listen at all and just kept rattling off what I think may have been a disclosure of some kind that he was making sure he did so that he could get on with his lying. My guess is the managers don't care what they say as long as the disclaimers are being read.

Anyway, this guy offers me a great price on a car rental like half of what's normal. Then I asked if I could rent with a debit card and w/o hesitation he said yes. I replied, "Are you sure that you don't need to check 1st," and he said, "No, I ran a specific search for that in case it was what you wanted." So now, I am suspicious. Instead of getting me convinced on why he read my mind about the debit card, he immediately wanted to sell me insurance for the car too and I said no because they always want you to take theirs too and I don't want two policies and I said, "So, you are 100% positive and can send it to me in writing that any of your companies will take debit cards and will not want me to take out their insurance too?"

He said, "If you let me book it, I will give you the number and you can call and confirm it yourself." I said, "You mean after you have run my card?" And he said, "I can't lie to you; everything we say is recorded." So I said, "I don't even know who you are," and he said, "You can call me 'Romeo **'," no kidding at all. I said, "Well, Mr. **, I was expecting something like a rep number," so he gave me one of those too. Then he must have said 10 times in 3 minutes about how they record the calls and no one can lie which is hard to believe when you know someone is lying.

Finally, I told him that I wasn't comfortable with what I was hearing and before I could tell him I wasn't on board, he hung up on me. I called back to speak to a mgr. and got another sales rep who had the gall to try to re-pitch me instead of handling my concern. I called again and got a so-called mgr. who kept telling me that unless I book it, they can't trace the call that is supposed to be recorded for quality assurance so I gave her his rep # and the name he was using and she said she can't go back to it unless she had my card # and had the nerve to ask me for it.

Now I get an email everyday stating that I spoke to Juan and if I still need a car. Beware of thinking that calls are recorded and that is your protection that is only used when they are making a claim against you, they will never use those for your benefit. My way of thinking is that the person who is losing sales because of how he is dealing with the customer is the one whose calls should be monitored for training and customer assurance. What they told me is that without the sale going through, they can't listen to the call. Don't give these people your information because the managers admit that they don't know who you are talking to and these boiler rooms all over the world they use know that all they need to do is give you a fake name and rep # and there is no recourse.

They booked me five miles outside the Central area in a hotel that wasn't on their list, and they had the nerve to book it at the hotel's day-in day-out price. When I called for assistance to express my unhappiness, they just kept reciting terms and conditions. I will never use them again and would caution anyone else not to use them.

It's simple: I called Priceline and cancelled two rooms and re-booked two rooms in another part of the State since my son's baseball games were rescheduled. We were headed to Bend Oregon for a tournament and plans later changed. I cancelled in March. I cancelled two rooms, and they sent me a confirmation. The confirmations said reservation's cancelled but did not give specifics to rooms, type, or anything mentioning rooms.

On Memorial weekend, while at the new hotel, I noticed a charge for one hotel room at the hotel in Bend. I was furious. I called them and they said, "You only cancelled one room." I said "No, I cancelled 2 and re-booked 2." The operator said "No, that's not what you did." "What? I was emailed two days later and told I could not get a refund on a certain hotel." I emailed back and said, "That was not the hotel I was talking about." Do you see how this happens? $166.00 later. Curse you, Priceline, you are thieves and we will never use you again. And I will tell everyone I know to stay away from Priceline. If you cancel, make certain your receipt of cancellations specifically list all the rooms you have cancelled.

I have been a customer of Priceline for many years but after my last experience, I will never, EVER use Priceline again. The next day after I booked my reservation, I discovered that the hotel website offered the same room for $60 less than what I got through Priceline. I sent an email to Priceline to inform them of this and got a response informing me, "You must call us prior to midnight the day before travel if you have a valid Best Price Guarantee claim. Please call 1-800-PRICELINE if you live within the U.S. or Canada. If you are outside of the U.S. or Canada, please dial 1-212-444-0022. You will also need to have the description and details of where you found the lower price, since Priceline will need to verify the price and availability, and please be ready to enter your trip number when prompted, so you may speak to an agent."

So I called a few weeks later and was first told that they would have to look it up on the hotel website where I found the lower price - but of course when he looked it up, the price had gone up. I told him that I had already sent the information in the email and also had printed out hard copies of the price from the hotel website. When he told me that there was nothing that he could do - that they had to look up the price themselves, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was transferred to the "customer care" department and after being on hold for 25 minutes, was disconnected.

I called back and this time miraculously was transferred directly to someone in the customer care department. This time the woman, Nicole, informed me that it was "too early to call" - that I had to call "prior to midnight the day before travel". I told her apparently there was a communication issue here - that I was calling prior to midnight the day before I was traveling - the reservation is in June. She proceeded to tell me, "No, your reservation isn't until June 5. You are calling too early." SO basically, she tried to tell me that I couldn't call BEFORE midnight the day before I traveled, that I could ONLY call in that small 24-hr window of time.

Essentially, if you find a lower price after you book the room (and pay for it - which is non-cancellable, non-refundable), the only way that they will honor this "Big Deal Guarantee" is if you FIND the price AND call NO more and NO less than 24 hours prior to the date you are to check into the hotel! Even though the "Big Deal Guarantee" states, "You must call us at the provided number to claim your refund up until midnight the night prior to check-in." It ALSO states "Priceline is the final authority on interpretation of these rules."

Moral of the story, DO NOT USE PRICELINE! They are more expensive, do not honor their own Guarantee and have less than poor customer service!

Priceline committed fraud with their Name Your Price bid scam and I will report this. I have used Priceline for years and I have done the bidding before. I never got up to 60% discount, but I got a better price than the listed price for the hotel on your site. This experience was a scam. The 2 1/2 star hotels stated the average rate was $300 a night. I bid $165 and won a Best Western that Priceline offers all the time at $154. How can you charge me more than your standard rate? That is no additional discount. I called and complained and should have disputed the charge with my credit card company for your false advertising.

Then the next day, I found the same hotel on Orbitz and another site for $136 and I'm told you won't match! I have been lied to about additional discount and about matching. I have no trust in your bidding feature and I should report this to Consumer Affairs since you are not standing behind your claim. Priceline should have automatically given me your standard Best Western rate and not make me overpay. And again, the standard rate is not an additional discount when you don't know the hotel. It's interesting how the other 2 1/2 star hotels didn't show up. Is this part of the scam, the other Hotels are not available by bidding?

Priceline overcharged me and tried to make me pay more for that hotel by using the bidding! They should fix the offer that states to a person that there is no discount for bid, but they could select this lower priced hotel if they want it. Plus, another site had Best Western as a 2 star. Where did Priceline come up with the average $300 a night (very similar to the 3 and 4 Star hotels)? I have never been ripped off like this before on any travel site and never before with using Priceline for years!

The express bid price was $96 so I decided to try to make my own bid of $90. If I didn't get it, well, at the very least I tried. Anyway, my bid was accepted; however, it was not north... it was west. In big blue bold letters, they say it is West, then in much smaller black letters they say "Youngstown North".

This smacks of "bait and switch" tactics at the very least; if not outright fraud. It can't be both north and west. Again, when I consulted the map, there was only one hotel that was listed as Youngstown North (Girard). I believe it was a Hampton's Inn hotel. When I received my confirmation of successful bidding, it was not Youngstown North (Girard). It was Holiday Inn Express & Suites Youngstown West (I copied and pasted that). Many sites that are commercial sites ask for credit card info when you make an account with the assumption that at some time with full information, you would make a purchase. So I signed up for a Priceline account. Then I started searching for my itinerary and hit the Make A Bid dial and put in an amount. It showed my request for airports to leave and arrive but no times. So I thought that I had to go to the next window to see the proposed times and flights. But instead, I was given a time after it already printed "Your offer was accepted."

So instead of getting a proposed time to evaluate against my itinerary to make an informed decision, they just put a purchase through and stuck me with whatever time they had. This is wrong. They need to have a message that says, "If you click this button, you have already purchased your flight." Priceline did not and refused to cancel the flight they imposed on me that was nothing related to my trip. Priceline is unworthy of your patronage. They are thieves preying on the public. After a period of time of looking at the various hotels listed, I decided to use the name your own price option. Prior to selecting the name your own price bid, within my search options, I had set the number of party to four adults. Also, prior to selecting the bid option, I also purchased trip insurance in case I was not satisfied with the room choice. When I received the confirmation from Priceline, the room I received had only one king size bed for two adults. Within minutes, I contacted Priceline and told them of the error. They said they would try and change the accommodations from a king size bed to 2 double beds.

The next day, I contacted the hotel and they informed me Priceline had not contacted them and they would not make any changes; only Priceline could request a change. When I contacted Priceline again, they informed me they were not willing to make any changes to the reservation; in their words, the reservation was what it was, the end. Furthermore, the trip insurance I purchased was for in case of a death only, nothing else. And when you name your own price, their website will only allow bidding for up to 2 people; you cannot alter this within the bidding parameters. So basically, the website altered the number of guests in my parameters. The room could not be changed or altered, it is what it is. Of course I could not use this room, so I was forced to give it back to them, which they gladly agreed to.

Now they have my money and the room, and they will bid it out to another unsuspecting party. Beware of this company; they operate unethically and without regard to their customers’ needs. I suggest anyone who wants to get a deal should not use this option unless you are willing to take the risk. As for me, I will not be able to go on vacation this year. I am on unemployment and had to save the money they took over a long period of time. So again I say, BEWARE. I have reported Priceline to the Better Business Bureau and tried to dispute the charges on my credit card. They might just eat the amount and credit me back as they have done in the past with difficult companies. I'm still pissed though! If I don't pick up the car, you mean you still charge me. Wow! This contract and the company behind it should be bankrupt from lawsuits by now.

I got a car reservation with Priceline for a premium care with Hertz. When I got to the counter, they said there was no premium cars left and forced us to take a luxury car. I have no choice but to take it because it is 10 at night already and if we don't take it, we can't get to our destination. They charged us an extra $200. I contacted Priceline and they advised us not to return the car for something else because the car was already contracted. They told us to call back when the reservation is over. So we called and after one hour on the phone, they said the resolution was to refund our money. They told us that it would take 2 weeks to be refunded but we never saw the money. I called again and they told us that they cannot refund the money. I tried to work with my credit card company to get refund, but no luck. Please don't do business with Priceline! They are horrible!

I went to purchase a ticket for my daughter to go to Honolulu, HI and was searching sites. I went to Priceline and saw the "name your own price" and decided to give it a try. Well I put in the departure city and the arrival city (typed out the words Honolulu, HI) and was sent to the next page where they then gave you 3 departure airports to choose from. I chose the one I originally typed in. There was only one arrival destination on the top right hand side, which clearly said Honolulu, HI. I filled out the form, put in my credit card info, named my own price, etc., and hit the purchase button. However, it stopped me and asked me in big red letters to check off an arrival destination. So I went up to the right hand corner, checked off Honolulu HI. I did purchase the insurance and read the rules for it and hit purchase. I waited a minute or so while the "negotiator" was dealing with vendors on my behalf to find me up to 40% off my ticket guaranteed.

Well all of a sudden, it tells me that my price has been accepted. Good right? Well no, the price has been accepted to Helena, MT! I called immediately after a frantic treasure hunt to find their hidden phone number. I was immediately put on hold for approximately 10 minutes due to high call volume at 11:20 in the evening. Of course, I was read from a script that stated that I accepted to purchase a ticket to Helena, MT. I kept stating that was impossible because it clearly states Honolulu, HI. I even hit my back button to prove it and the so-called CSA agreed, but still kept repeating, "But you agreed to Helena, MT." Really now? Why would I do that? That makes no sense at all! Not only would a regular ticket to Helena, MT be $200 lower than my bid, no one was going to Helena, MT. So why on earth would I agree to this?

She kept telling me I initialed for this. I disputed this and she said my only option was to take a $30 hit and purchase another ticket to Honolulu. I told her to stay on the line with me. She did so reluctantly and I tried to purchase a ticket to Honolulu, which of course was not going through and wouldn't accept my price now. I was almost up to the regular cost of the ticket, which so happened to be their counter offers to me. I was not going to pay more for a ticket to HI than it was worth from a site that guarantees the lowest prices. I certainly was not going to pay for a ticket to Helena, MT because they bait and switched me! They lock you in and you lose about $150-$175 if you don't use them again and no matter how you slice it, they were only going to give me back $120 to apply towards a new ticket. Not everything but $30! That was a solid lie too!

After the first CSA was fed up with waiting on the line with me to try and purchase another ticket, I called back, spoke with another and someone in their customer relations department (all non-English speaking and all reading from the same script). They agreed that they could see me checking off Honolulu, HI but since my reservation was cancelled, they could no longer see what I actually agreed to purchase. This was just tiring and ridiculous. I finally gave up at 2:00AM with these people. Next day, same story. So I finally tracked down corporate, the real corporate number. I got the runaround and them reading from the same script saying, "Well you agreed to it when you initialed it." I protested over and over that I did not do that and that was crazy.

This man told me he had the document right in front of him with my initials on it agreeing to go to Helena, MT. I insisted he send it to me because I did not believe him. He sent me a document that not only looked false, it was nothing I ever laid eyes on and it did not have my initials on it! I then heard from a woman by the name of Teddi; she is the one who will address your BBB complaints (do it anyway, but it's a joke. The BBB has them at an A+ with 3,000 complaints, only half addressed and 100% of those unsatisfied. What a joke. If it weren't for their A+ rating, I would have stayed away from this joke of a company. However, they hide the complaints and they're way down. You have to do research, but you still can't read them - only that they have them. Now how does one obtain an A+ with the BBB with that track record? Well for one, they pay to be accredited; and two, they advertise to Priceline right on their page. Very suspicious!).

Well Teddi read from the same script. After I pointed out that the document conveniently disappeared before I could save it and that I keep getting correspondence for my daughter, not me (she was the ticket holder), she stated as a fact that I signed my daughter's initials to make the purchase to my credit card. Why would I do that or why would they accept that if I am the one making the purchase and using my credit card? They never could answer that or why I checked off Honolulu. They acknowledged that, but was issued a ticket to Helena, MT.

This company is a joke. You will get the same, exact, scripted answer from everyone from the overseas CSA to the overseas CRA to the supposed corporate execs who are in CT, but somehow live in Ohio. I don't believe they're a real company. I feel like taking a ride, walk right in and speak to them, but it's not worth it. This was a very hard lesson to learn for me, but I will do this in the future. Never ever listen to the BBB. Just Google the company name and complaints, and see what real consumers have to say. Unfortunately for me, there were over 19K hits for Priceline bait and switch, and nearly a million for Priceline complaints.

This will never happen to me again. I did end up buying my daughter's ticket to HI directly from Amex Travel. They were fantastic and I got to choose the flight, which put her on with her friends and her seats! Stay away from Priceline if you like your money!

This is part of a trip for which I have additional booking with Priceline for rental car and hotel in a different location. At Sedona, a friend of mine was to join me and hence the 2 rooms. Unfortunately, he has to suddenly fly half-way across the globe due to a medical emergency in his family as they live there. He will not be able to join me in Sedona. So, I called Priceline customer service (which is in Mexico) and explained my situation. I told them that I will be retaining all of my reservation except for the additional room for a day at Sedona. I politely requested them to help me and cancel that room due to this unforeseen situation.

I am disappointed that their customer service refused to consider my request. I have also requested Priceline via Twitter, but so far no response. I have been a Priceline customer since 2000 and this is the first time that they have behaved with me such. They need to be better in addressing genuine complaints. If they treat their customers such, we are forced to go to Expedia, Orbitz, etc., whose customer service I find is much better.

One of the ways hotels get around Priceline deals is that they don't tell you upfront what the extras are going to cost. They do warn you that the hotel may charge extra for items such as parking and internet, but because a bidder doesn't know the cost of the extras, the ultimate cost may be no deal at all - just what you might have paid anyway had you gone directly to the hotel and may often be quite a bit more even though your bid seems to be a great deal. I had this experience with a hotel in Washington, DC. Surprise! $40 for parking per night and $20 for internet per day.

Another thing. When looking to see what complaints others may have about Priceline, it looks to me as though all the online sites and forums that purport to be independent experts in dealing with Priceline are nothing more than PCLN shills. And those that appear to be independent are bombarded by posters who are apologists for PCLN. That PCLN stock is trading at nearly $700 per share is no accident, in my honest opinion. Their peek-a-boo system appears to be a gigantic ripoff. Hmm, maybe it's a great stock to short. Once the word gets out, it's bound to collapse. We booked thinking a simple double bed request would be no problem. We immediately called the hotel to make sure we could get a double bed; they said we had to go through Priceline even though these rooms were available. We called Priceline, and again they said, "It shouldn't be a problem; just call the hotel the night before." The night before came and the double beds were sold out, and our room is a tiny queen which we could not use at all. Customer Relations, what a joke name, was ridiculous. All they said was, "You completed the forms, so we are charging you for it." They wouldn't move us to another hotel where they would make the same fee. They didn't bother to help us change to a simple room.

We will never ever use them again, and we are telling all our friends the same thing. This was a horrible experience, having to frantically find a new hotel the night before based on misleading information from Priceline.

I suppose one of us could have attended the luau while the other drove around the parking lot, but that wasn't the implied service. I called Priceline, talking first to customer service and then to a customer service specialist who topped the first rep by apologizing 10 times more. Handling the problem, not solving the problem.

If they have a vendor who can't deliver, that vendor shouldn't be on their list of listed services. I was repeatedly told that the contract stated no refunds. Funny, it wasn't on my voucher and even if it was, this is not the way to treat customers. Well, off with the old (Priceline), in with the new (anyone else). After talking to the rep at AA, he had to call Priceline back and go through everything I had just gone through with me on the other line. I think it was ridiculous that I was charged a booking fee, a change name fee, and another fee for dealing with Priceline; especially since I purchased insurance.

I have expressed to them that I would like to get all those fees refunded and if they cared to retain a customer it would highly influence me if this was considered and acted upon. Surprisingly to no avail. The customer service reps seem to care, but they are the slowest representatives I have ever dealt with. I couldn't understand them and it only added to my frustration. What's more, after going through all that, I never received the confirmation or itinerary for the new reservation; and I had to call back and try to find out what happened. In November, I made a reservation for a rental car in San Diego off of Priceline. It was paid for on my charge card several months ago. My husband has to have a procedure and we will not be going to San Diego. I called Priceline to only change the driver from my husband to son-in-law, who will be in San Diego for the same function I was going to be attending. Priceline said there could be no changes whatsoever. I said I am only changing the driver, nothing else. They told me it could not be done. I called Budget Direct and they said their contract with Priceline does not allow them to make any changes.

I made reservations through Priceline. I was supposed to be staying at a hotel in Richmond, VA on the evening of Feb. 1, 2013. When I arrived, I was shown that the credit card charges for the room were declined and I noticed that it was on a MasterCard. I told the gentleman that there must have been some mistake, because I placed the reservations on a Visa. He told me that he would attempt to run the charges again and explained to me that it was Priceline's credit card that was declined. Priceline charged me $64.06 for my stay. Thanks be to God that they had a room available and that I actually had the money to make another reservation. The room was only $51.52.

Needless to say, I have paid $115.58 for a room and Priceline refuses to refund my money. They have decided that I need to wait until Monday, after 9AM, and that the hotel needs to refund my money. Priceline claims, "Priceline.com gives travelers the inside track to the best deals and discounts, even at the last minute." They breached their contract when their credit card was declined and I had to make other arrangements. They took my money under false pretense, then they failed to uphold their best deals and discounts claim when they charged me more than I would have been required to pay had I just driven up to the hotel and made arrangements. False advertising! Now they are holding my hard earned money hostage. Hey, I am on a limited income and they have just stolen the grocery money I need to feed my children.

This consumer affairs page asks if "I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint." Absolutely! I can't imagine that I am the only person that they have done this to. They knew that their credit card was declined prior to my even leaving my home for the weekend. They could have contacted me. They had my name, phone number, email address and they made no attempt whatsoever to contact me. I had to to contact them for the refund and I then was told, "No, we don't do that. The hotel would have to refund you." Yes, this needs to be pursued. Oh and to add insult to injury, their customer service call center is in Mexico. They are scripted and know nothing about our laws. They should have just made the refund of $64.06 (now they should be paying me interest on my money and inconvenience).

I bid on a hotel on the Priceline website, and they indicated that the hotel would have a 7/10 Priceline hotel guest review; however, I booked in the Radisson Lord Baltimore which has a 6.5/10 hotel guest review. After doing further research on TripAdvisor, I am more convinced that this hotel has a cleanliness problem (e.g. hair on the pillows, food in the trash can when you check in, dirty sheets, etc.). Additionally, the elevator is often not operable and dangerous to ride (as one customer had to pry themselves out).

When I called Priceline, the rude and arrogant customer service representative said that when you bid, there is no cancellation or changes. When I inquired whether Priceline read the hotel guest reviews on their own website, she responded, "No, because we consider the hotel having a three-star rating." I indicated to her that if they had read the comments from their Priceline hotel guests, they wouldn't continue to list this hotel on their site. I also asked her what happens to being booked in a hotel with a 7/10 hotel guest rating or higher. She refused to answer that question and said all bids are final.

I have been a loyal customer of Priceline for over 5 years and book hotels and rental cars probably 1-2 times a month, because I travel often. I have never had a problem with any booking; however, I will never use this site again and would encourage all consumers to stay clear away from Priceline because they lack integrity and character (and needless to say, leadership). Please don't use Priceline; they are very dishonest and have a disregard for paying customers. Although I will lose the money I bid on the hotel, I am ultimately the winner because I won’t ever visit the Priceline website again and get scammed. Take my advice fellow consumer; don't visit the Priceline website.

On January 27, 2013, I made an online reservation with Priceline for a room on the 28th, for the Red Roof Inn on Merchants Drive in Knoxville. The hotel confirmation # was **. When I arrived at the Red Roof and showed my confirmation, the Front Desk Manager showed me that it was for the Red Roof, West, in Knoxville, about 20 miles away. However he said that all we had to do was transfer the reservation, since it had already been billed. He gave me an 800# that was supposed to reach a live person. After going through a maze of recorded instructions, twice, it was obvious that I could not speak to anyone at that number.

The gentleman was kind enough to call the number that hotels are given. He too went through a maze, but finally did get William, in the Philippines, on the line. At this point I had been there about 25 minutes. After 8 minutes, William asked to speak to me and told me that there was no way to transfer the reservation and I would have to pay at the hotel where I was, even though I had already been charged for the other hotel. I asked to speak to a manager and he firmly told me that he was the only one that I could speak to. The Front Desk Manager was very surprised and said that Priceline and Expedia transfer reservations all the time.

I respectfully request that you refund my credit card the amount that was charged on it for a room that we tried to transfer at 1:00pm on the 28th of January. As a Professional Speaker, I teach "Guest Astonishment," which used to be called Customer Service. In this case, I received "Guest Abuse." Please let me know by January 30 what you are planning to do. We publish a blog on the first of the month and my hope is that you will not be a great example of poor service. The confirmation arrived in email so I printed it out and started looking the details over and noticed they had somehow switched me to Best Western in Sonora, California! I called the hotel within minutes to cancel the reservation because it was a mistake. They said they are unable to do anything about it; I have to go through Priceline. I called Priceline within 15 minutes of making the reservation and explained the mistake. Last October, I rented an SUV from Priceline for February for approx. 3 weeks. I needed it to be AWD because we were going to be going in the snow. Yesterday, 30 days before the rental date, I called to confirm the vehicle would be AWD or 4WD. I was told they (Budget is who Priceline made the rental through) couldn't guarantee an AWD/4WD vehicle and that I needed to request that at the counter when we pick it up. That won't work. We are going to the mountains the next day. When I told them I wanted a refund, they said the contract was non-cancellable/non-refundable and cannot be changed. They clearly have no customer service. They have people in the Philippines that recite the same clause.

I contacted Capital One to dispute the charge. Budget told us they were okay with us cancelling but they didn't have the money. Priceline has my money and regardless if I get the car from Budget, they won't do a refund. Capital One and I were on the phone for over an hour with Priceline, were transferred three times and were told it wasn't Priceline's policy to have Customer Service supervisors. They told me to wait until 10 days after the rental was to be turned in, even if I don't rent the car, and call in for a refund. When I asked for that in writing, he said that isn't Priceline's policy. People need to understand how Priceline works. They really have no customer service.

How it was 4-star compared to others - no idea. But worst beyond overpaying was no guarantee I could get 2 double beds vs 1 king. I'm traveling with my 15-year-old son. I've used Priceline.com for 8 years now. I have been fully aware of the bidding, policies, practices, and overall process until today. All users of their site be aware that the initial pages they are now using will trick you into thinking you'll get to bid as in the past, but now they have designed a deceptive web page that is actually an "I'll pay that" page. Here is what I mean.

For example, you go to Priceline.com, select hotels, fill out city/area, and check the "stars" of the accommodations, then search the date(s) you want to bid on reservations for (at least that's what you'll think). The Search process begins and the first page (the deceptive one) looks like the page(s) of the past. It represents to you that the "4-star" hotels you searched for fall into the designated/highlighted geographic area. It's the same as in the past, right? Off to the right side, it explains the typical cost of those rooms in that area go for a stated amount. The page asks you to proceed to the next page to fill out your information and credit card info (again, same as in the past), then the whammy hits you.

You think after you give your two letter initials (again, same as in the past), and hit next (bottom right of info page, that you'd expect to be taken to the page that lets you bid, but no, you find out right away that your credit card has been charged the "mean" price on the first results of search page. They are now calling that first search page a "contract page" and there is no way to get them to refund the money, for any reason even within 5 min. of the deceptive action. You are stuck. You will pay more for that room on those dates than if you started with the hotel (just see).

I've notified the credit card company. I contacted Priceline (online chat - a joke), then talked to two people and finally a supervisor who cannot undo the deception, and who cannot give you anyone to talk to beyond that first line supervisor. My 8 years of business didn't count for squat. I had never paid full price (asked them to review my past transactions with them), to no avail. Let's hope the credit card company, Chase, can undo the deception. Oh, and their best price guarantee is not worth the effort to read it.

Then it wanted a credit card to continue. I put in the credit card, assuming it was part of the process but would not be billed until I accepted the deal. I called Priceline customer service representatives, who couldn't have cared less since they already had my money. I first spoke to someone who hardly spoke English, and then I spoke to his manager. Both service representatives stated that Priceline doesn't know the exact amount of the resort fees, since you won't know which hotel you're staying at until your bid is accepted. This is complete nonsense and is a total fraud. Priceline knows precisely the hotels with which it partners, and can easily give a range of prices of mandatory fees for which its customers will be responsible, so that potential Priceline customers can amend their bids accordingly.

Oh, and the 4 star hotel that I was assigned is more like 2 1/2 or 3 star tops. Priceline is a total scam, and I'm mad at myself that I fell for it. Priceline is dishonest and has horrible customer service. I will never purchase anything through them ever again. This is more than the cost of the hotel for two nights ($150). I have made numerous reservations through Priceline since nearly the time they started in business, but I will never again book anything through them. I don't want to do business with a company that treats loyal clients this way. Just now, during a cursory search of complaints against Priceline, I found out that this kind of treatment is pretty standard for them, which surprised me.

I mean, there are so many different discount travel websites from which to get discount prices for rooms and flights and cruises these days. Why would they treat their customers this way? Also, this is for a hotel in a busy area during busy season, a room that most likely would get booked right away again. So it doesn't even make sense to do this to me. They could have booked the room again quickly and kept me happy and coming back to them in the future. Priceline offers these categories: 5 star, 4 star, 3 star and Resort. The "Resort" category was chosen because they were all "All-Inclusive" resorts that included meals, drinks and upscale facility. There were 7 resorts to choose from in the South Cancun area. I read all of the descriptions and all were equally nice, so I decided to bid on one and would be happy with any of them. I did read that Priceline can add additional resorts that were not shown, but I did not suspect anything unusual at that time since I expected any additions to also be "Resort" category of like/similar resorts. I actually received one of the 7 I had researched and was pleased it was the Westin Spa and Resort, Cancun. Upon calling to confirm a king size bed as suggested in my confirmation email, I learned that my reservation was for the room only and that I was excluded from using any of the all-inclusive benefits.

I immediately called Priceline and got the runaround. They would not let me speak to a manager, even though I stayed on the phone for a long time and continued to ask. They would only transfer me to a senior Customer Service person that also read from a script. They continued to read the sentence "Your purchase is non-refundable." This is a clear case of fraud and bait and switch. I clearly chose an all-inclusive category labeled as "Resort" and received a 4-star for the price of the "resort" category. Also, the Westin is advertised on their website as an all-inclusive, but when you get your confirmation (after you paid for it), they do not include the verbiage anymore.

There is no way a reasonable person would suspect that they are only buying a room and not the whole package. These are scammers and the Westin Spa and Resort Cancun is their partner in this scam. I contacted them, and they said they had no responsibility for "the error." I argued with them that this was not an "error." I asked them to help me resolve it with their Priceline partner, and they refused. Therefore, we can only conclude that they are aware of the scam and are participating in advertising an all-inclusive resort and are lying.

I booked through Priceline (the last time) for a 4-star at a specific price today. Doubletree-Seaworld, Orlando accepted that price and the bid was confirmed. I am to arrive soon and stay for 4 nights. I pulled up the property's website tonight and happened to stumble upon the $15 self-park fee disclosure - it was the first I have heard of it. I talked to Property Management who said they could do nothing because it was booked through Priceline, but I could call tomorrow to talk to other management if I wish.

I also talked to Priceline who said they state there is a parking fee and will do nothing about it because it is the hotel's policy. There was no confirmation that there would be a parking fee - only the possibility - and no mention of the potential cost. A nominal fee would be okay - $15 is not reasonable. I have expressed to the main Doubletree reservation line, the property, and Priceline that this seems deceptive and intentional, given the fee was hard to find on the property's website unless you had booked directly with them, and that Priceline makes no effort at all to give an idea of how much the parking fee could be. Given some of the reviews I've since read, I'm now apprehensive about the quality of the room and have been more or less assured that nothing will be done if the room is indeed subpar - and less than the Star level I had bid on and contracted to pay for.

Priceline needs more transparency regarding the parking fees and other nearly essential charges - for most travelers anyway. I cannot reason why Priceline is unable to require the properties to disclose their parking fee and have that fee built in to the bid price. Alternately, in the interest of those who would not have a vehicle, Priceline could at least give a range of parking fees so that the customer isn't blindsided by it. It seems these fees must result in revenue for Priceline, or that properties do business with Priceline because customers are unable to cancel and thus are forced to pay such fees.

They changed the price at the website and told me pricing is highly dynamic. In addition, I found the same hotel, same days, etc. at a cheaper price at Despegar.com but received no answer. By the way, I spent over 40 minutes in the phone. Waiting time is over 20 minutes. So if you have problem, there is literally no way to solve it. My advice - keep print screens and pray not to have a complaint.

On Nov. 6, 2012, I went to the library to do a number of things online, among which was to find cheap airline tickets. Among many sites I visited was Priceline.com. From my search, I found out that the prices were too high for me, and then Priceline offered the alternative to Your Price. During the course of filling the forms, I was required to sign in using my email which I did. What I noticed was that in spite of the Priceline issuing me a Temporary Password, I could not get in. I tried a number of times without success and I couldn't understand why. I ended up not being able to make a purchase because I could not proceed as I could not sign in and also because eventually the computer timed out on me.

When I signed in again on another computer just to check my email before I left the library, I saw that Priceline had sent me 3 emails but addressing me as **. At first I was shocked at my finding and I sent an email to Priceline asking why they are addressing me as **. I then headed home so I could call Priceline to find out what was going on without disturbing the peace at the library.

The Customer service Rep was not forthcoming as she kept saying that they did not send me any email. We argued back and forth and I asked to speak to a supervisor. She asked me to hold on to speak to Customer Relations. He also denied that the company sent me any email but then I read out the phone number on the email and asked him if it belonged to Priceline or not. That was when he said, "Well you were addressed as ** because that's the name you put in." Of course that upset me. Then I asked him what the last name was. After much debate, he gave me the last name ** of Richmond. Virginia.

I understand that this person used that email to make purchases as recent as October 2011. Please be aware that ** is not the owner of **. I'm not proud to say it but I have not been a good monitor of my accounts and financial transactions, so I'm not so sure the extent of what this person has done. I have thought that I should ignore it. After all, it's just an email but I have a gut feeling that it could turn out to be something bigger and I just don't want to ignore it. I have reported this to Priceline.com too. I still use the yahoo mail because I've had it for almost 15 years but I'm gradually moving to **. Thanks.

I received a few offers on room rates, but they were more than I wanted to spend so I cancelled that offer and kept looking. About 30 minutes later, I was charged a total of $800 for 3 different hotel reservations that I did not book! I contacted Priceline and was advised that all reservations were non-changeable and nonrefundable. All 3 reservations were booked for the same exact times and dates and of course, it's not humanly possible for me to stay in 3 places at one time. Regions Bank looked at my account and all three charges were made within 5 minutes of each other.

I am a firefighter and at the time the charges came through, I was on a 911 call so I wasn't even on the Internet. I'm not wanting to badmouth Priceline by any means, but I can't afford to just have $800 taken from me fraudulently when I have bills to be paid. Please help!

These people are horrible! Customer service sucks and many of these people can't even speak English. Anyhow, we took her and her boyfriend to the airport and Delta only charged them $50/person. Also, the insurance covers nothing! Don't waste the $16 on the insurance unless you want to contribute to the wealth of Priceline and the loser insurance company! I'm telling everybody I know not to use Priceline. And the tickets were $193/person round-trip and had I ordered from Delta directly, we would have paid only $177/person per round trip ticket! Our family has used Priceline for many of our trips; that will now cease. Priceline does not appreciate its customers nor do they care about delivering a high level of customer service.

We booked through Priceline for our last trip and things were going smoothly until we reached our second hotel in our stay. Surprise! I now have $60 to spend on parking for this hotel. There was absolutely no free parking. Nowhere did this disclaimer appear for this hotel on the itinerary or any way to de-select any hotels that do not offer free parking. For families who have planned out and budgeted their trips, this could be a big downer. If we could have stayed even longer, that price would be even more through the roof. The hotel stated it's Priceline's problem, not theirs. They said we needed to fight it with Priceline so that they would give us this money back.

Priceline was called. First employee was unhelpful. Said that somewhere in the 100000 word hidden contract it says that incidentals are not covered. Incidentals are very understandable, but parking is not an incidental. Parking is a necessity in order to stay somewhere. It should have given us an option to opt out of paid parking hotels if that's the case rather than hide a stipulation into their contract that parking is part of an incidental? Since this was unacceptable for us that they did not want to reimburse us or offer us any type of incentive, we requested a supervisor.

Another employee was handed the phone. Under the impression we were speaking to a supervisor, we proceeded with explaining our situation again. Again, there was no desire to help us. They also said they weren't a supervisor and they have no supervisor to address our call. They told us we could write a letter via mail to the corporate office. When asked if they cared about our continued business, they basically beat around the bush and insinuated they didn't care and that it's our fault.

There were no kind words or incentives offered to make things right or to want us to stay a customer of Priceline. Everything that you will pay out of pocket that in real life are not incidentals, is your problem to deal with when you are already out of town. There's no management to oversee their employees on the phone or escalate an issue to. There's no customer service at all. In fact, they were pretty much outright rude on the phone and blamed us for everything. Aren't customers always right? Or, at least they should be made to feel that way even if they are not, not to basically make us feel like they are untrustworthy and we are stupid to fall for their tricks. Never again will we use Priceline. We’d rather use a service where everything is disclosed right upfront without any surprises on our trips.

I called Priceline to ask them to remove the charges but they referred to the policy that a reservation cannot be canceled. I did not realize that the policies had changed. I talked to several people at Priceline but got nowhere. I called my credit card company and spoke to a supervisor who gave me a phone number of a person at Priceline. In my case, I paid more than I should have. I was looking for an affordable hotel in San Francisco for late October. Unfortunately, I am subscribed to Priceline deals and today I got an email from Priceline about hotel deals in different cities including San Francisco. I booked a hotel using their "Name Your Own" price service. Now I understand how that works. You name your price and the area and you don't know where you are booking until it's done. When the booking was complete, I went online and checked the reviews. Most of them were awful. The hotel itself was fine but apparently located in a bad area of San Francisco, although accidentally in the area that I picked.

Priceline obviously refused to do anything about it but offered me a $10 coupon to use on my future travel. Ironically, I can only use it on "Name Your Own" price deals - like I am going to use that service again. I called my credit card and they also told me that I could dispute the charge but there was no guarantee. Now I'm not sure how I am going to feel being a female travelling alone and walking among the homeless and apparently drug activity. What's also upsetting, it was not that cheap compared to other websites which disclose the name of the hotel. Priceline even charged higher taxes than other websites. I guess this is a lesson for the future. If I survive my trip, use websites that disclose the name of the hotel.

They gave me a Spring Hill Suites at the Airport - Spring Hill Suites was specifically listed in the Priceline examples of a 2.5 star hotel and I did not want to stay at this Spring Hill Suites. I immediately called their customer service to let them know I felt that if Spring Hill Suites is specifically listed as 2.5 star hotel, then awarding me this hotel when I had a three-star minimum was unfair. They said these were examples only and I had to take whatever hotel they awarded me.

There are no refunds or cancellations and I will be charged the full two days even if I am saying 10 minutes later that I will not be using this hotel and that the practice was unfair and deceptive. The price I paid was about $30 more (before the Priceline fees) than what can be found easily on other travel websites for the exact same hotel. So beware of Priceline as they can give you any hotel they want for your bid and there is no recourse.

On my recent trip to California, I had used both Priceline and Hotwire for hotel reservations and had very different customer service experiences. Based on those experiences, it is very unlikely that I will ever use Priceline again for travel booking.

We left Baltimore at 6 am and after a full day of travel and a museum visit, we arrived in Mariposa, CA at around 10 pm. We pulled up to the Super 8 Motel that we had booked through Priceline on 2-4-2012 and noticed that the name on the hotel had changed to The Monarch. We went to registration to check in and they said we did not have a reservation for us. They said that when they changed ownership, all reservations had been purged and that they had no rooms available for the night. They told me to call Priceline to sort it out as it was not their responsibility.

I drove to a few of the other hotels in town but they were all full. After checking for vacancies at the Best Western, I asked if I could use their phone to call Priceline as we did not have cell service in Mariposa. While I spent 30 minutes waiting to speak to a customer service representative, the clerk managed to find me a room at a B&B less than 10 minutes away. I grabbed the room and drove to the B&B so the family could get some sleep while I tried again to reach Priceline.

We checked in at the B&B and I called Customer Service. I waited 1 hour and 7 minutes to speak to an agent. When I was finally connected, I explained the situation to the agent and requested that Priceline cover the difference between the two rooms ($50). She said that her only options were to find us another Priceline hotel in Mariposa or refund our reservation plus 20% (a difference of $27 from my requested resolution amount but which I never received). I invited her to find another hotel but after checking, she reported they were all booked and could only offer the previously stated refund. I asked to speak with a manager but she replied that she was the manager. At this point it was after midnight, so I ended the call and ate the difference in price.

So in the end, failure to notify of a change to my reservation, poor customer service and $27 has resulted in Priceline losing all future business from me and probably everybody I tell this story to. There are a lot of online travel booking sites and prices are generally pretty competitive. What can make the difference is how they respond to a problem.

I would like to illustrate this point with an experience I had with Hotwire Customer Service a few days later. We had booked a room at another Super 8 in Fortuna, CA. When we went to the room, it had only 1 queen size bed. I had booked the reservation correctly for 2 adults and our 15 y/o daughter. We asked the hotel for a rollaway and they said that there would be a $10 charge. They suggested I call Hotwire to resolve the issue. I was prepared for a lengthy and horrible customer service experience but what took place was quite different and surprising. I was connected to a customer service representative in under 5 minutes and within 15 minutes, the problem was resolved. Hotwire covered the $10 charge for the rollaway and gave us a $25 Hotdollars credit toward future travel to compensate us for our trouble.

Given these very different approaches to the resolution of booking issues, which company would you choose to do business with? Let's put it this way. I'm not putting all my retirement money into Priceline stock. Even if William Shatner came to my house for dinner, I would still use Hotwire for my future travel bookings.

I knew of the hotel and I clenched my teeth and ended bared the stay. This time on Priceline, I was to do a long-term rental vehicle as I just lost my motor vehicle and my insurance claim was running out. I went through the bidding process and I specifically indicated that I wanted a standard SUV and I put in my bid.

After a couple of adjustments in price, I was informed that "I won" but when it posted my reservation, it indicated that it was not a SUV-type vehicle, but it was a minivan. While a minivan is okay for some, it wasn't okay for me as I have a walker that needs to go in the back area of the vehicle. Getting in and out of a standard car is hard as the trunk goes down, so SUV is best. I immediately called the Priceline and to my surprise, they went ahead and cancelled my reservation. This was quite shocking as my previous experience; they refused to refund my previous incident.

I guess me indicating that I was a disabled veteran and that I needed the back area to put my walker was the key. I hate having to say that, but it was the truth and I will be having another veteran who is over 6 ft. and 300 lbs. who also needs the room traveling with me, so it’s good. Apparently, Priceline is changing some of their policies as for me while I'm not happy that they did the "bait and switch" and changed the type of vehicle, I am pleasantly surprised that they cancelled the reservation. I booked 4 tickets on Sunday night at 8:00 pm because it was the lowest price guarantee. But on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, the same flights were $200 less for the same 4 tickets. Priceline would not refund a dime and they sent me direct to American Airlines who said it was Priceline's responsibility to refund the money and not American. Never use Priceline. I always use Expedia and was always refunded the difference if the flight went down. Priceline is a total rip off!

I was told a hotel reservation that was made would be credited if I purchased another hotel reservation. When I made the second reservation, they hit me with the we never made that offer, and can’t give you any money back for the original offer. Complete liars and terrible customer care. This company needs to be taken out of business.

Beware! I ended up paying more for a hotel room through Priceline than the hotel's published rate. They are false advertisers! You must read the fine print. They are scam artists.

I booked a name-your-own price car rental through Priceline for $173 for six days. As it turns out, I only needed it for two of the six days. When I turned the car in early and was charged by the rental company, I was fine with that. However, I called Priceline regarding the remainder of the balance because I did not need it for the full six days. They told me no refunds. I didn't want a refund. I just wanted what I didn't spend. I will never use Priceline again and I am telling all my friends to use someone else too.

I purchased a rental car from Priceline. I purchased a car for $73.00 per day and they added $93.23 in taxes. If these were actual taxes that the rental company collects, which I had understood, I would be fine with that. However, these are not really taxes and fees - they are Priceline’s way of recovering costs and charging more, which isn't broken out. The consequences are that I paid way too much for a rental car. Priceline sucks.

We are so upset with Priceline.com! We wanted to get away for a couple of days and decided to try Priceline's "name your price deal," checked off the boxes for Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, CA and, lo and behold, room was booked. The problem is that it is on MacArthur Blvd. in the middle of Irvine! That is 2 cities away from Newport Beach and is a busy office district. It is not even close to Newport Beach which is what the checkbox was labelled.

I called the hotel and they said this happens a lot but there is nothing they can do. We have used them successfully in the past but this experience has been appalling and eye opening. Their customer service is beyond awful. They keep harping on that the hotel is in the shaded area of the tiny map. Well, my counterpoint is that the map is incorrectly labelled and is being labelled an area which it is not. They would not even credit the amount to be used at another location which costs more. Clearly this is done deliberately.

The area we are booked is fine for business travelers but is not a leisure destination by any stretch of the imagination. If they labelled it correctly, I am sure many business travelers would choose to stay in the Irvine/Costa Mesa area. Certainly no leisure travelers would though, so why label it as a different city which caters to vacation and leisure travel? They are awful to deal with too. They seem to enjoy saying no. Why has no one ever filed a class action lawsuit against this company? There are thousands of complaints against them. Even their own Facebook page is 90% complaints. Other large companies don't have this level of dissatisfaction, not even the airlines. Most companies care if so many people are that unhappy, not Priceline. I wish I had checked before wasting the money.

Yes, it is our fault, but you have to pay to fix it! I booked one a night stay on 08/09/2012 at Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden, New York City through Priceline. The only reason I booked this hotel was because it has free parking. However, when I check in at the front desk, I was told there is no free parking. Then, I called Priceline customer support to query what was wrong. The answer is: It is our mistake and thank you informing us. However, you have to pay the parking by yourself. I called them twice and got the same answer! Until now, their website still lists this hotel has free parking. I am not sure if it is a mistake or just a cheating technique! This is the first time I used Priceline and I am surprised they can treat/cheat customers like this.

I have used Priceline many times before and have been completely satisfied, but it had been a while. In past tries, I'd gotten great deals in high quality hotels, including a March 2012 stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker in Chicago. But today I bid on a 14-night stay in Louisville, KY. I selected Louisville Airport or Brooks areas, which I think are areas 1 and 5 on the selection page. There is an area 9, which is Shepherdsville, KY, that is shown on their map well south of Brooks. I did not select area 9.

When I submitted my bid - guess what? I got a room in Shepherdsville. I used the online chat and the 800 number to express my shock and was told that Shepherdsville is the Brooks area, to which I responded, "Then why is it listed as a different area on your own map? I did not check that area.” This will add several miles to my daily round trip and considering gas, I will not save anything and could've stayed in a nicer Louisville hotel and paid a near normal rate.

They weren't friendly about it at all and pretty much said, "Too bad, so sad. Thank you for using Priceline." I did let them know that Brooks and Shepherdsville are two different areas and that they need to change their own map because they show it as different areas. I had bid for four days, gradually increasing my bid daily after the 24-hour period. I guess they just got tired of me and "stuck me" where they could to get rid of me.

My mother had been rushed to hospital in the UK; and I needed to get over there immediately, so I booked a round trip with Priceline. They told me my credit card number was incorrect and had not been charged, so I had no flights; however, my credit card had been charged for almost $1,500. There is still a pending transaction which has prevented me from being able to re-book any flights. In the meantime, my mother had died; and I am not able to get there to the funeral. This is purely due to Priceline. As you can appreciate, I am very angry and upset about this and would never recommend that anyone book anything with Priceline.

Biggest mistake of my life (well, almost), I made a hotel reservation for 5 days through Priceline. Unfortunately, I had to cancel 1 hour later, lost $570, the whole amount of the stay. I can understand penalizing me for maybe 1 day but, for the whole 5 days? I'm sure the hotel will not be billing Priceline for the cancellation, but I am being charged for whole thing. Be careful when you do business with Priceline and make sure you read the fine print before you hit that "submit" or "I agree" button.

I have been on the phone with Priceline for three weeks trying to get my refund. They have jerked me around at every turn. I was told the refund would be $750. Now they are saying $430. After several days when I didn't receive an email confirmation on the refund, I called back only to find out that they canceled the flight but never issued me a refund. Then, they told be their Travel Services Dept. was not answering the phone and want me to call back again. I still have not received my email confirmation or refund.

I put in a bid for $140/night for 5 nights and won, but the hotel charges $20/day for parking and $20/day for wireless access. $180/day is not a good deal at all, so I tried calling their customer service number 20 minutes after I had won the bid. I got someone with a heavy unintelligible accent who just recited lines from a book to me. I asked to speak to a supervisor but just got a ruder version of the earlier person. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. This was my first time using Priceline and I thought it was supposed to be good, but I will never use this service again and hope no one else ever does either.
