I went onto Trivago. Found a best deal hotel through GTI's company Hotel Power. I was charged and received a confirmation notice. I called Hotel Power just to make sure and they verbally confirmed and re-sent me another confirmation. Got to the hotel and they told me there is no reservation. It simply never existed and they were full, no rooms available. I had to book another hotel 45 minutes away at a higher price. I called and wrote Hotel Power just to be jerked around. Stay away!

This is a totally fraudulent & unethical company. They billed my account when the membership was canceled. I have been calling into this company for the last week. The agent put me on hold & hung up the phone. After the 100th call I received a voicemail for a supervisor name Paul. I left him over 10 voicemails and still have not received a call back. I wouldn't ever invest with this company.

Whatever you do, do not give this company your credit card number unless you seriously plan to continue your membership! There is no way they will "not" charge your account - even when you call them and request a cancellation within the allotted trial time frame. Then when you call to speak with a "so-called" manager to find out why they charged your card "illegally" for $200, you get a rude and nasty man telling you that you have to wait at least a week to get a refund. This is absolutely absurd. If they illegally charged my card today, they should be able to reverse the unauthorized charge on the same day. This is a warning - do not give them your credit card number. It's in your best interest to use a temp card with limited funds!

I was contacted by them and blinded into signing up by the lure of the $100.00 gift card (which I never received, but whatever). I called them this morning, a couple weeks later, to cancel, and the cancellation process couldn't have been easier. I was on hold for maybe two minutes and then spent another two minutes speaking with the very pleasant Brianna, who had a cancellation confirmation number for me very quickly. I felt compelled to leave this review for Global Travel International because of all the negative reviews regarding the cancellation process. If you call the 407 area code number listed on the first result when you Google the company, it's quick and easy.

I was contacted by Global Travel International, offering discount travel packages. After agreeing to let them charge my credit card $1 for a $100 store rebate router, and a $350 travel voucher, I received nothing! After numerous attempts to contact them by telephone to cancel, which were unsuccessful, due to the fact that their phone numbers are survey lines and other runarounds. They charged me $99, which would happen on a monthly basis.

Apparently this company runs a pyramid type scheme, where you become a travel agent. You are then required to sign others up for their program, with the promise of big commission paychecks. All a scam and this company goes by various other names, Globaltravel.com, Valu-pass.com, Gtimemberships.com, Globaltravelworks.com and Infovpass.com. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY OF THESE COMPANIES, AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!! Also, if you have been scammed by this company, contact your banking institution's fraud department and file a claim!

We also recently booked Southlake Hilton and saved $162! The regular rate was $278 and we booked room for $116 with Global Travel agent IATA. I am not sure why people don't give Global Travel a chance before criticizing it. There is no better deal for travel with any MLM and you get free FAM trip cruises and vacations as a member! I booked this place for 1 week while on business in Jacksonville. I spoke to Jovanna at Global Travel International. I made it clear I wanted clean place to stay with desk as on business trip. I was assured very nice and clean with desk. I paid upfront and booked for week. I called back and asked if I have an issue when I get there, will I be able to get refund and if so from, who do I contact. I arrived at the hotel, asked to see the room before check in. The room had stinky odor, food crumbs on chair, rusted appliance, beer bottles and cigarettes, on ground around building, signs of where people loiter and hang out in parking lot drinking etc. and even the lobby had odor. I informed I did not want to stay here at all. The lady at desk said ok and I could get refund from the 3rd party.

I attempted to call Global Travel International (GTI) from hotel, but no answer as no one available on weekends. I did call GTI first thing Monday morning and went over what happened and stated I wanted a refund, now I am told it would be up to the hotel. I was told I'd get a call by Wednesday on the refund, but there would be cancellation fee, I said fine I will pay fee just want to get the rest of money back. They promised call back by Wednesday and it did not happen. I called back Thursday and they said would get on it, then I got call back and was told there will be no refund and they was escalate up to manager. The manager called back later and said he is working with hotel owner to get refund but they currently are not wanting to refund me the money.

This whole set up appears to be a scam. I am out 1 weeks paid hotel stay, at a very nasty and disgusting place that the health department should shut down and was completely deceived by the VRBO advertisement and Global Travel International agent. I wish I would have googled Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham Jackson, I would have seen all the photos and write up about the roaches, spiders, bed bugs, nasty odor, and issues with non-guest hanging out and drinking in the parking lot. This has taught me big lesson, do not trust what is posted on VRBO, do not work with this Global Travel International as they clearly are misrepresenting the properties they list and post here on VRBO and their site, and never stay at anything listed as being associated with Wyndam Jackson.

I booked a trip with clients in January of 2014. At that time, the invoice showed a commission of $1242.56 was taken. I emailed Viking and was told it would be paid after the cruise in April 2015. In May of 2015 I called or emailed Viking and they said they sent the check to Global Travel in April, right after the cruise ended. In June, I called, and Global Travel said my primary agent was no longer a member and therefore I would not get a commission. I paid another $200 so that I would now have primary status and get paid. The checks would then be issued at the end of June. Well, I finally received a check. Viking Travel sent Global Travel a commission totaling $1242.56, but the check I received was for $394.45. - 32% of the total.

When I talked to GTI, I was under the impression that the check would be for over $1000. After I finally got the check and called them, they said the check was for 5% of the base - which would have been more than what I received. I was never told the commission would be 5%. GTI is a rip-off. They generate their income by your payment to them as a travel agent and the large commission they take, but they do not honor the system by paying you the commission they receive from Viking.

I signed up, thinking it's a one time, trial agreement, and never booked any travel. The prices were higher than I could get through regular, non-membership web sites, or through the websites of the airlines or cruises themselves. I am now told that I have signed up for what amounts to a lifetime membership which costs $169 per year, and which I am supposedly unable to cancel except during a very limited window each year! I signed up for this membership online for month to month service. I love to travel and thought I could at least make enough money to cover the monthly fee of $39.95/month. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I booked over $13,000 (9 travelers) in international airfares and made $34.00 commission. Needless to say, this took the sail out of my wind and it changed my outlook. The booking took place after the 14 day period. I thought I could cancel anytime since I was paying month to month. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. I had to pay $199 to cancel on top of paying already paying the monthly service fee of $39.95 for two months and also forfeiting the $34 commiss that I made.

Personally, I THINK IT'S A TOTAL RIP-OFF!!!! Everything was generated online and the only time I ever reached out to them was to cancel this membership. The cost to them was minimal. They could have waived the cancellation fee and kept the monthly service fee already charged. BTW, the full cancellation fee was $399. They did me a "favor" by reducing the fee to $199 and upon further discussion with a "supervisor" they saved me another $50 by reducing my cancellation fee to $150. So, in 45 days time, this is how much I paid: $39.95 X 2 (membership times 2) = $79.90 plus a reduced cancellation fee of $150. My total loss or expenses with GTI Travel was $229.90. I am not telling you what to do. I am just sharing my experience so you can make an informed decision because I wished I read the comments posted here before I signed up for it.

All the while I thought that everything was okay until now when I checked my bank account and I was charged with a $169 renewal membership fee. It's like giving away my hard earned money to something that is of no used and a company (GTI) that is only after making profit without even providing a good and true service to their travel agents. I was told that I should have called a certain number to cancel my membership but that renewal letter is enough to let them know that I don't want to renew the membership. They want to charge additional money for adequate training which they should include in the initial membership fees. Although I was paid a small commission from that cruise, I never received commission from our own travels, nor did I get commission from some friends who joined through me. When I tried to get my questions answered, they would blame my lack of payment on the vendor that the trip was booked through not paying them. They completely ignored my question as to why I wasn't paid for the people who signed up under me. I was aware that the commissions wouldn't be huge individually, but I did expect them to act like honest, professional business people. When my issues went unresolved after several attempts at trying, I cancelled my membership.

For months, I would receive calls from their solicitors wanting me to sign back up with them, offering sign-up discounts; however, when I would tell them why I was no longer interested, I would be treated very disrespectfully. And once I was even laughed and cussed at and had the phone slammed in my face. They Scammed Me For 12 Years - My father joined Global Travel International between 1997 and 1998 to save money on his frequent business trip. At the time, he worked for a company in San Diego, CA but lived in Portland, OR and had to travel between the two cities a couple of times a month. He also traveled to China, Brazil, Italy, England, Austria and Thailand and many other places as well. In the beginning, he saved quite a bit of money and had no problems getting his commissions, booking trips or getting travel visas. In 1999, I got pregnant and really wanted to start a business that would allow me to stay at home with my son. I talked to my dad about Global Travel and its benefits several times. I checked out their website and googled them to see what others had to say about them. It seemed like a perfect fit for me and if I signed up under my dad, he gets a bonus check for my membership referral. Plus, they were running a special that month, if you refer x number of new agents in 4 weeks, you get $x and the more agents you sign up, the more money you receive.

So my sister, her husband, our brother and a couple people my dad worked with and his partner from his new side business all signed up at the same time. My dad agreed to pay for my membership, as a "baby shower" gift, and put it on the same credit card he had his membership on. For several years, he used his membership with no problems, as did most of the others that signed up at the same time I did, but only for their own travel. As far as I know, none of them tried to make it a business and open the website to sell to others. I was the only one who wanted to start a business. After my son was born, I tried to make the business profitable. I tried to open the website and encountered problem after problem. When it was finished, a friend of mine tried to book a travel through my site and found that not only was it hundreds of dollars more than other sites for her trip, but they messed up her reservations and wouldn't fix it without charging more money.

She booked with my website to help help me out with the commission, but the month after she booked her trip, I received nothing. I called customer service and was told that because I didn't book the trip with their booking agent over the phone, then send in a paper confirmation by fax, I was not entitled to a commission. Then why did they give me a website if I have to book the trips over the phone to earn commissions? They also told me that because they had reduced their commission % and added a new term to the contract, I wouldn't have gotten a commission anyway because the amount I earned from her trip was below $x and I had to earn more than $x each month to get paid at all.

So after 2 years of struggling to make this work while also working another job and raising my autistic son alone, I gave up. I never made enough each month to receive a commission check, each booking was so much work and hassle, and my customers were paying way more to book with me than they would have with any other travel agency. So it wasn't worth the money I was paying them each year to keep trying. So my dad canceled my membership. I continued to receive flyers from them once in a while and we thought it was because they were trying to entice me into coming back to them. My dad kept his membership and every year, they automatically took the money off his credit card.

As the years went by, the company continued to change their terms and conditions without telling their current agents about the changes. Booking with them became more and more difficult and customer service was terrible. In 2010, my dad was getting really sick, he had heart trouble for years but it was getting worse and his kidneys and liver were failing as well. He stopped traveling all the time and decided that his GTI membership wasn't worth the $169 he paid every year and he canceled his membership. He continued to get flyers once in a while just like I did. Once again, we thought they were just trying to entice us to come back with their great travel packages and low rates.

In July of 2011, my father passed away after months of dialysis and a new pacemaker/internal defibrillator and many other medical struggles. During that time, he didn't really pay attention to the bills. Everything was on automatic payment and his company paid him by direct deposit so he knew the money was always there for the payments to go out and he wasn't really concerned about what was being billed to him. Today, I received a letter from GTI asking me for my renewal payment of $169 because when they tried to auto bill me, the credit card they used wouldn't pay it. We cancelled all my dad's credit cards after he died.

So after about 10 years, I found out that they never cancelled my membership and probably didn't cancel my dad's either. Now I have to find out why it wasn't canceled after my dad made dozens of phone calls, wrote a letter and filled out the paperwork they requested 10 years ago when he originally wanted to cancel my membership. That's at least $1,690 they've taken from us, without permission since the papers my dad filled out revoked their right to take automatic payments from his credit card for my membership. What they are doing to people is not only wrong, it's illegal and they should be shut down and prosecuted! Why won't the authorities do anything about these scam artist? All they have to do is google GTI and they'll find hundreds of people willing to testify about how they were ripped off by this company. Many of them with the paperwork to prove it. So it can't be lack of evidence or victims that keeps them from arresting and filing charges against the owner/operator of this company.

Do not ever give GTI any of your personal information and especially not your credit card number! If you cancel with them and they won't stop trying to get the money and you cancel your card to stop them, it will only get worse because then they'll take you to collections and ruin your credit. So what can you do once you've already given them your card number? Lose. Either your money or your credit rating. In the very beginning, this was a reputable company. I mean in the first year or two it was in operation, then slowly it morphed into a huge scam. I don't know if they had always intended to rip people off or if the company was sold to someone who ruined it or it just sort of ended up turning into a scam without meaning to because they got greedy. But whatever happened, it's not worth the time or money or stress.

I joined Global Travel in January 2011, because I went through their site that had a special free trial for 14 days and if you stay, they will give you $100 Visa Gift card. They charged my credit card $100 and it said to fax my credit card information, in order to get the $100 gift card.

When I tried to redeem the gift card, they changed the terms where you had to then refer people to the company in order to get a monthly $10 gift card which was not the original promise when I joined. So I gave up on that. Then after not hearing from them for months, I received a letter in February 2012 saying they were renewing my membership in November 2011 and that I now owed $169. How dare they? They then proceeded with charging my credit card without permission, after I changed my card number I originally gave them.

A few months ago, I received an unauthorized charge to my credit card. I recognized that it was done without my approval. I followed by calling the company to cancel and issue a credit. I was told that I cannot cancel it due to date expiration, which was a day after the charge took place.

Since then I made few attempts to resolve it and asked for the company president’s name and contact number. I was denied. The card was never activated nor used. I have no other choice but to contact you to resolve this issue and at least warn other people from such an abuse. This behavior is simply a desperate attempt to create business by unsuccessful company.

Checking with my bank, I find GTI got the $5.95 and another $99.00 from my account. So trying to call them, every time I say "why did you take $99.00 from my account?" They would hang up.

When I called to ask about the $9.95 difference, they were very rude and told me I didn't read the fine print and that it was a nonrefundable processing fee. Also, I noticed there were hits to my Web page when I didn't even have a Web page so I emailed my agent account and it said it was an email from Global Travel. This company is a complete scam. They charge an unreasonable amount to become a certified member and makes outrageous claims about the amount of money you can earn, perks you get being a travel agent, the free travel you get with signing up, and details on how to save even more money by deducting your own personal travel expenses off your taxes--which after looking into, you more than likely cannot.

When I signed up, they sent paper work on a free, all-inclusive Mexico trip as well as a free cruise, both for two. I went through all the excessive paperwork as needed, contacted them numerous times to follow up, and was given nothing but the complete run around. They would say, we aren't the company that actually gives the free travel, you need to contact them and never gave me details.

In fact, I was never able to talk to customer service at GTI until they started to try to get my auto-renewal money, though I know that I already cancelled my membership. I am actually at the point of being about to pay it just so the headache goes away. I fear though, that the headache will not go away, even if I pay the extra $149 that they want. I am actually looking for any legal advice on what I should do.

Some other points on my experience with GTI. Most places did not offer any type of discount for me being a travel agent. Mostly, they laughed at my GTI travel agent card. It was actually pretty embarrassing to be told both time I tried to use it, in a boutique hotel in LA and a hotel in the US Virgin Islands, that they don't honor GTI as a legitimate travel agency. In addition, the actual commission they pay is minimal. Literally, I booked two all-inclusive trips to Puerto Rico and got less than a $10 check.

I booked two people on a cruise (which took hours of holding on call, fixing paperwork, talking to incompetent support, and stressing that it was going to be all wrong for my sister-in-law) and got less than $30. You can definitely find more competitive rates and better customer service on other major travel sites. If you are looking to do this to make some money, I recommend you do anything else, including recycling cans before contemplating this. Do not do business with Global Travel International.

Well today, I decided to call them back and give them a piece of my mind and to tell them to take me off their calling list. Then I find out that this is a collection agency hired by Global Travel International regarding a supposedly unpaid balance for a membership renewal that they were not able to collect on automatically because I cancelled the credit card. I spoke with a collection agent named, Andrew, and he told me that this was passed on to them on August of 2007 and that I need to pay $295 to close the account.

He said that Global Travel have been deducting a monthly membership fee since 2006 for $29.95 for a whole year and when I finally caught up with their scam and cancelled the credit card, they continued to charge me for what they claim as a membership renewal for 2007. I have fought this over back then and even sent my claim with an attorney's help and they have sent Global Travel my claim but for some reason Global Travel disregarded. Unfortunately, I no longer have those paper works now since I've moved. But the point is this people are adamant about their scam and they are still wanting to collect money that is not owed to them.

For the meantime, my credit has been negatively affected. I find out now that my credit that I have worked so hard to make better. When I checked my credit score about six months ago, I was at about 658 already and now it has plunged into 598 due to this account. I asked MCIS or Monterey Financial agent, Andrew,if they will work with me to close out this account by reducing the amount due to half or the most to $150. He told me by company policy that they do not settle on accounts less than $1000. Therefore, the only way for me to get this out of their collections is to pay the full amount of $295. I need any legal advise how I can go about in fighting this people? Please kindly help.

On 5/7/09, I joined a free-risk trial for $19.95 for 14 days. As soon as I entered my credit card, I had a PIN and a supposed webpage. Also, I received on the mail a package containing information. I read everything, and I did not have nothing clear concerning commissions for selling trips. So I decided to call the numbers they send for support or any other information and so many others which I could never get an answer. I wanted someone to talk to me about the business and answer my questions, but all I had was a man (whom I felt sorry for) who tried to explain to me. But I never understood nothing. He was more confused than me.

My main interest was to have someone to speak to me about the business and tell me how much I would receive for commissions. But he told me 5% of what GTI was paid, which I said was not enough. I kept sending emails to different addresses they supply but never received by phone nor they answered my emails.

So finally, I contacted the first person who was a Pam **, and I told her that I wanted to cancel my trial, because this was not the business I thought I was looking for and that no one answers my questions and I cannot get in business with a company you cannot reach. She told me that she would take care of my cancellation. I told her that I wanted to be sure my credit card would not have a debit or charge because I cancelled on 5/14/09. She assured me I would not be charged.

But on 5/24/09, they debited my credit card for the amount of $299.00; and my account was overdrawn because I did not have that day that amount. On 5/26/09, when I had funds, they deducted the total amount; and my bank charged me $20.00 for non-sufficient funds. I started calling and contacting GTI, but it was a nightmare.

That same day, I was lucky to contact a person named Jonathan **. I told him I wanted to speak to Pam **, and he said she was not in. I insisted and told him I wanted to speak to her, and I explained the problem also to him. Also, I told him I wanted a refund in my account because they were not supposed to debit my account. He said he needed an okay from her.

I kept requesting to speak to her, and she came to the phone. I told her I did not trust anyone, and she told me the conversation would be recorded and she then told Jonathan to be on the same line. So we three (3) were on the phone. She authorized the reimbursement, and she left me with him. He gave me a cancellation number and said that in 5 days, I would receive the money in my credit card. I told her I needed that money because I was leaving on a cruise on 5/31/09 and that I would hope while traveling, the money could be on my credit card.

I did not receive the money by the time I left, so I hope on my return I would have it credit. Nothing happened. I called again on 6/8/09, and I told Jonathan ** nothing was credited. He said the system rejected the transaction and that he would do it again that day. On 6/13/09, I called again and I could not reach Jonathan nor Pam.

I spoke with Joshua **, and he said everything was written in the computer and that the money was to be reimbursed to me but that it was not that way. He also said that the information they gave me was not correct, because they reimburse in a check, not to a credit card. I told him I was so upset and I would contact the Florida General Attorney. He even gave me his email from work and that he will contact me to tell me when the department send me the money.

I have emailed the company so many times, and today, 6/17/09, I called and as soon as I asked for Joshua **, they knew who I was because my telephone tells them who is calling and they left me 33 minutes on hold and never had an answer. I called again and again, but no one ever picked up the phone. I don't think they will pay back my money. They are a fraud agency, and someone should do something about this.

Pre-made news stories that you could just put your name on and submit to any newspaper for publication and that's your story even though you didn't say a thing. I must say those fellows who started GTI are smart because they know how to take your money with lies. I will urge you, if you are deciding to open a home-based business, to turn someplace else. I didn't get the discount I earned because I was told that the commission for airfare booking was discontinued and they don't pay that anymore but yet GTI is still advertising a 90% commission on booking and that did not work with the airfare tickets I booked back in 2005.

I became an independent agent with Global Travel several years ago. They have done nothing but screw up trips that I booked for myself, friends or family. When I tried to book a cruise for myself and my two adult children, they booked my daughter and her family on a different date. When we caught the error, my daughter had to pay more and pay for two cabins, and she and her husband each had to share with one of the kids (they originally had one cabin that would sleep 4).

Then I booked a trip to Hawaii for some friends - they quoted one thing, and charged her something more. We called to get the cancellation penalties, we cancelled, but they still charged her and would not refund her money. Fortunately, her credit card company helped out and my company bought the airline vouchers from her, as they were on Southwest and could be used by anyone.

Then, the real cherry on top - my husband and I booked a So. America cruise through Global. We arrived at the airport in January, only to learn that we needed a tourist visa to go to Brazil. They had never told us. They refuse to help and we are out over $5600. We have now filed in small claims, but the agent of service in California is no longer an agent for them, and we are not allowed to hire someone in Florida. The small claims court told me we are pretty much out of luck - that it is extremely unusual to be able to sue someone out of state. Isn't that just dandy? Global Travel takes people's money, but does not train you to be an agent, nor do they do any work for you as the agent - they just sit back and collect the commission! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY!

I was pressured into signing up for another year by being threatened that I would not receive a commission on anything outstanding, so I paid the $149. I WILL NOT SIGN UP AGAIN THIS YEAR. I have nothing booked through them, and I am out the $5600 for the cruise we missed in January.

When I asked him what he perceived as one too many questions, he began to yell at me. When I politely asked him not to yell at me, his rude response in a hostile voice was that I was aggravating him with all my questions. With that, I hung up on him. I promptly called my son and told him he would not be going on a tour with this company. When his friend called the company today to get his deposit back, the same man called him a [expletive] jerk. This man's use of profanity with this 20-year-old young man is unacceptable. This afternoon I called Global Tours to ask the man why he felt it necessary to yell at me and then swear at my son's friend. After identifying myself as the woman he yelled at last night, the same man promptly claimed he didn't yell at me and said he was too busy to deal with me. When I started to question him about his behavior, he told me to go to another tour group--he didn't have time for me. He hung up on me as I started to ask him why he found it necessary to swear at my son's friend.

As far as I know, there has been no economic hardship. A $45.00 deposit was placed on the trip which this man said he was refunding. No physical damage has resulted either. As a consumer, I feel this man and his company should be reported, most especially for his use of profanity to the young man. Global Express Tours representative's behavior is totally unconscionable and needs to be reported. I have filed a report to the Better Business Bureau as well. If there is an agency that is more suited to hear my complaint, I would be happy to contact them. Thank you for your attention.

I signed up online for their travel agent program which was advertised for about $48 per month. This was done on 02/02/08.The ad offered online training, a website, assistance, etc. A pin # was generated as soon as I finished entering my CC info. I did not get a confirmation E-mail or phone call from anyone as of 02/06. On checking my account, I saw that $99.90 was withdrawn by GTI. I called GTI and was told that the addition was for a 1-time activation fee. I challenged this but to no avail. I asked for a refund and was told that the activation fee will not be refunded. The supervisor of Ann said she will get back to me on said day. No response to date. I canceled my enrollment after 4 days without getting any assistance from GTI. I had a 14-day trial period, money back guaranteed. My total amount of $99.90 should be credited to my account.

I signed up based on good-faith. This was not the case with GTI. I was left with a pin # and not knowing what to do with it. I felt I was cheated out of my hard-earned money. I need a refund.

I applied as travel agent with Global Travel Incorporated and filled out the forms as provided. My main purpose was if I will become a travel agent, I can have cheaper air travel. After a long period of time I received a call demanding payment for my being an agent. I sent back the ID that was sent to me and explained that I have no clients for travel as I do not receive any travel information or destinations for an agent to sell. According to the caller my bill is about $39 and I told her I have no credit card nor have I any money. Last Feb, 4/08, I received a letter from collection demanding payment in the amount of $359.40. If I cannot pay $39.00 how much more for $359.40? This is my first time to encounter an employee paying to their employer. Is there anybody who knows the definition of Employee or employer? At present I am bedridden as I suffered Hemoragic stroke, a very delicate situation.

My having a hemoragic stroke is brought about by this problem.

I was foolish enough to sign up for the 14-day trial for Global International. I did not decline the offer in the 14 day period and was billed on my credit card for six months trying to get them to cancel. I ended up trying to have Capital One (my credit card company) resolve unanswered emails to GTI. I'm now being billed $279.30 to end the contract (for which I've gotten nothing) and wonder if it will do any good to pay this, or will they continue to bill me and continue to attempt to ruin my credit? Please advise folks as to how risky it may be to deal with GTI.

Continued threats to my credit will most likely be made. They are impossible to contact and use Monterey Financial Services, Inc. for collection and to make threats to report to credit agencies and court action.

I signed up with Global International Travel in 2003 in order to receive discounts on my travels to the Caribbean, which were never available to me. In addition to paying the $495 initial fee I was charged $129 each year thereafter. When I tried to close this account on 3 separate occasions, it was difficult to reach a customer representative. When I finally reached a rep I was told the account would be closed--only to receive another bill months later.

I finally became so frustrated, I let the bill go to collections which ruined my credit. I am still today trying to repair the damage done.

On 10/4/06 I was involved in a car accident resulting in totaling my fiance's Envoy XUV.(although the damage is not yet official; we are still waiting to hear from the adjuster) I swerved to the left to avoid the vehicle in front of me that slammed on its brakes abruptly because someone rear ended a vehicle in front of them & another in front of them. Although I was able to avoid the vehicles in front of me; I hit a utility pole. During this time I was driving approximately 40 MPH. I was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital; treated for minor injuries & pain, then released shortly after. Our concern, as well as the responding police officer's concern,Fire rescue's and the mechanic's concern of the shop where our vehicle was towed to... neither the driver side or passenger side airbag depoloyed. I was wearing my seatbelt at the time of the accident. The passenger side was wiped out completely. The door was removed, hanging only on a thread,The front tire was ripped completely off, the whole windshield shattered, the front headlights removed, the glove compartment is touching the passenger side seat, as well as the seat being pushed into the back seat of the vehicle. I do not buy the statement from GM in Sept. If consumers are walking away from an accident- and the airbags didn't deploy-the vehicle has done its job.I was alone in the vehicle during the accident. THANK GOD. I know if someone had been a passenger in our vehicle at the time of this accident, the airbag would have been the only saving grace they would have had...however, it did not deply. We have contacted GM through the dealership, and also e-mail, we will contact them again by phone this week. In all reality I walked away by the grace of GOD; not GM. We are getting married next week, make-up can cover bruises & cuts. We are now in the market for a new vehicle,I doubt we will be considering another GM vehicle.

In 1997 I paid $495 to Global Travel International in response to their advertisements to become an independent travel agent; and, receive 50% discounts on hotel rates. In 2001-2002 Global Travel International instructed Super Clubs who is a booking agency for various Carribean hotels to refuse discounts to certain independent travel agents unless the agents had met booking quotas as defined by Global Travel International. The advertising of Global Travel International states that quotas are not required in order to obtain promised benefits of the independent travel agent.

In 1997 I joined Global Travel International's independent travel agent program at a cost of $495 with the assured benefits listed in their advertisements of 50% discounts off motel/resort prices. In 2001-2002 Global Travel International instructed Super Clubs, a booking agency for certain hotels in the Carribean, to refuse discounts to their agents who had not met certain booking requirements--even though the Global Travel International advertised benefits clearly stated no quotas required. Each year since 1997 Global Travel International required an annual fee to continue to receive the benefits. In 1998, 1999, and 2000 I paid $99 per year; and, in 2001 and 2002 I paid $129 per year. Now Global Travel International in cooperation with Super Clubs has rescinded the advertised benefits, and, has kept the annual fees.

I have paid approximately $1100 in annual fees to continue as an independent travel agent expecting advertised benefits of receiving 50% discounts from hotels represented by Super Clubs and others. Prior to 2002 Super Clubs had honored the committment and made available the travel agent discounts.

In April, 1997 after viewing advertisements by Global Travel International, I paid $495 to become an independent travel agent. Among the advertised benefits was the assurance of receiving 50% discounts off motel/resort rates. Global Travel International complied with this advertised enticement until 2001 and 2002 when they instructed Super Clubs, a booking agent for resorts in the Carribean, to refuse the discounts to their travel agents who had failed to book x amount of business. The advertised benefits specifically state no quotas required. In 1997 I paid the $495 fee and in 1998, 1999, and 2000 I paid $99 annually; and, in 2001 and 2002 I paid $129 each year to continue as an independent travel agent. Global Travel International continues to advertise the discount benefits to encourage participation in their independent travel agent program.

Having paid approximately $1600 to Global Travel International, I have been denied the benefits that were offered as inducements to justify payment of fees.
