This is my second set in less than 3 months. Goodyear Wrangler Radial has sidewall cracks that appear out of nowhere. I’m going back again tomorrow to get new tires or this will be in the news! Goodyear obviously has a major problem.

I bought a car for my son to drive while he’s at school in Wyoming. The car has not even had the first payment made and the front passenger tire blows out while it was getting onto the interstate. The blowout is in the sidewall of the tire. I put the spare on and tried to get to the dealership to have a replacement, but they won't since the tires are separate from the car warranty. I was told to contact a Goodyear tire store. Before that could be done, another of the tires goes flat. The tire store won't do anything because the blowout and leak are in the sidewall of the tire! I am not at all happy right now because we can't afford to buy new tires!

I have a Jeep Patriot 2010. My tire just exploded when I was driving. I couldn't fix it because it was too much of a risk. When I checked the rest of my 3 tires, they show the same problems outside of all the tires. This means that very soon, this can happen again. I called my dealer and they said this isn't a dealer problem. I called Goodyear and they said the same! So, I will be waiting if another accident will happen with me!

We only use this car for show. The tires, Eagle GA, have less than 8,000 miles on the them. They look great(!) until we went for an inspection. Every tire has the same crack all around the rims right behind the trim type - that attaches to the rim. Very unsatisfied, no more Goodyear tires for us. The tires look new, including no tread wear. Poorly made - dangerous.

Three weeks ago, I purchased 4 brand new Goodyear Assurance tires. Paying a little more was worth it because of the Goodyear name. Immediately, there was vibration both in the steering wheel and the body of my Xterra SUV. I went back to the garage assuming it was a balance issue and they rebalanced them but noticed bumps both on the inside and outside of the tires, all four! The distributor came to see the vehicle, circled the problem areas which were 4-6 on each tire. Both the distributor and the garage did the right thing by replacing the tires with another brand of my choice, but this is absolutely unacceptable and is dangerous. Seeing the other accounts listed here, I see I should not have counted on a long standing reputation but should have researched them first. Never again, Goodyear.

Pace Mark Tires by Goodyear - 8 months ago, I put new tires on a Toyota Tacoma and now 10,000 miles later, tires have bubbles on all four tires. The store manager said that Goodyear said there are no recalls on this tires, so he can't help me. It was my bad driving, his adding me to the list of another unhappy owner of a Goodyear product. Here is what I know, a friend who worked for Goodyear said Goodyear was using used rubber on new tires. He sued Goodyear and got fired. His case went on for 7 years and with evidence and all he lost, what hope do we small consumers have? I will take to small claims court the business owner and take all the evidence I can find with his Goodyear.

The store owner had a field red for Goodyear on site yesterday and she said "I went from a bad tire to a worst tire" and laughed. I did not ask for this tire, they recommended this tire. The second comment from the rep was I must have fallen on to many pot holes. I said, "on all 4 tires? On the inside of the tire, there are bubbles". I also have to call my city's public works on this mater. Now I have to spend another $400.00 because of their bad product. So every 10 months, spend on new tires again? I don't know, what do you think?

My wife was going to work, driving in the fast lane. Your tire blew on the side wall, just as it did before. She could have been killed. She ended up in the grass, off the road in the fast lane. Not only did she miss her work, but it was $130 to tow the car plus $200 to replace the tires. This is the second time in 2 years. Are you still selling the faulty tires through small outlets? I want my money back.

I had a pair of Goodyear Wrangler All Season Tires mounted on the front of my Jeep at the cost of $340, with limited warranty. Four days later, while pulling away from the curb, the tire blew out. Upon examination, I realized the tire had a hole in it. In fact, the tire is completely soft along sidewall. After taking the tire off, I returned to Karl's Discount Tire and was informed that they would not replace the tire because the manager insisted that I had damaged the tire due to a "high impact". Due to the disagreement of the events, I left and am now contacting Goodyear.

I have a Honda City and I purchased four new tires from the same Honda showroom in 2010 (December). Three of the tires are in good condition, but the fourth one is having a swelling on sides or it has uneven inflation from sides. When I took the car to Heritage Honda Gwalior Center (from where I purchased tires), they said that the problem is not a manufacturing defect; it is due to the driving. After repeatedly telling him that if the defect is due to driving, all four tires must be affected to some extent but they refused to change the tire. The tire is unevenly inflated from sides. While driving, if any sharp thing comes in contact with the tire, it will burst and may result to a fatal injury. Still, the concerned authorities are not willing to replace.

I have 4 Goodyear Eagle RSA tires on my 2006 Nissan Maxima with under 29,000 miles on them. Three of the 4 tires have developed bubbles on the sidewalls with 8/32 tire thread left. I went back to the dealer and was told to call Goodyear. Goodyear told me it was from road hazards and would offer me a total of $50.00.

That is not acceptable, and I will make sure to switch to another brand and never recommend Goodyear to anyone. I have seen hundreds of other people's complaints, and Goodyear is doing nothing about it. If they were willing to give me $50, obviously, there is a serious problem with this brand and they should recall them before people are in serious accidents that could lead to death.

I bought Eagle GT P205/55R16 on March 3, 2009. I had nothing but flats a few weeks after purchase. I was charged each time the flat was fixed. I took my tires to Beverly Tires today for repairs before spring installation. I use winter tires which are Michelin with no problems. I was told the tires are covered as long as no nails. Well, each time I had repairs, I was charged I did not have nails.

Now today, I was told the tires were slashed. How can that be? The tires are in the cellar from October to April. The tires were defective from day 1 and nothing has done, just excuses for repairs. The tires have 25,000 to 30,000 km. What poor workmanship! The tires need to be replaced. Consequences are another $700 for tires. I left driving all my tires with the slow leaks. Tread is fine on damage.

I purchased 4 assurance tires which were guaranteed to be an 80 thousand mile tire. When I brought my car in two years later to my dealership for an inspection, I was told the tires had splits on the side walls and would not pass inspection. When I brought the car back to Goodyear, I was told that I had done the damage myself and there was nothing they could do. Being quite upset, to say the least, I had the manager call Goodyear directly and spoke to an agent about the situation. After much yelling and screaming, the manager said he would replace the tires for an additional cost of $37.00 for each tire. I am hoping that when I bring my car into the dealership this year for inspection they do not find the same problem with the new tires. Very unprofessional company. They do not care about the safety of their customers, nor do they wish to accommodate them when there is a problem with their tires. I will never purchase tires from a Goodyear dealership or have any service done with them again in the future. Shame on them for being so deceptive when selling their product or services.

I purchased a set of Goodyear Eagle GT II tires on 2/25/11 from the Tire Rack online. The tires have solid white lettering that is gradually turning brown on outer edges close to tread. Several attempts have been made to wash them with whitewall cleaner, but failed to get rid of browning. They have never been really white since I’ve bought them, but the browning has gotten worse.

The tires have only a couple of miles on them and have never been exposed to the weather. These tires are original equipment for this car and were purchased to put on a classic 1981 Corvette for car shows. These tires are unacceptable for showing and I expect better quality from a Goodyear tire. I have owned and preferred Goodyear tires for over 30 years and would hope they would help resolve this issue. I have written to Goodyear consumer relations but have not gotten a response. This is very disappointing that the #1 tire maker in the world can't respond to customer complaints.

My Tata Indica brand-new car is fitted all with Goodyear tires. It has just completed 1000+ km and was running within Trivandrum City only, very carefully as usual with any new car owner. Two days back, we noted a flat tire while still on a city high road. On reporting to the car dealer and your company (GY), your engineer inspected the tire and gave a report which I could not accept owing to very valid reasons as given hereunder.

    1) The crack seen in the tire is not of any geometry shape to speculate it as a cut caused by a sharp object.
    2) Any piercing can happen only on flat surface touching ground, and not side.
    3) If the sharp object touches tire's side while running, there will be an annular scratch, which is not seen in this case.
    4) Any pressure against hard objects while parking, if encountered, will be of low impact and should not damage a tire which is still young and elastic. (We can expect some level of decomposition and brittleness after one or two years.)

    5) If a tire gets damaged due to such side pressures, it itself admits its weakness, and no vehicle on road is safe with GY tires and the company is liable to be sued.

    6) On the other hand, there can be a very minor percentage of manufacturing errors in any product, even with 100% quality control and rigid standards.
    7) All manufacturers will accept such bugs and happily respond to customer grievance and redress it by proper compensation.

    8) The analysis and assumptions of your engineer need to be reviewed by experts and replacement to be given free of cost.

I am sure, GY, the globally reputed and oldest tire manufacturer in the world, will do only ethical and customer-friendly service and trust which has been passed through decades and decades.

I had a flat on the 26th of January 2012. I pumped the tire up and drove 6 miles to Flynns. It was 5:30 when they pulled my wife's and my account up. Then came the complaining about the price Steve sold the tires to me for. Then it was "Well, we won't be able to do anything tonight." to "If it's in the side wall, you will have to buy a new tire to replace your new tire!"

And we don't have one. We'll have to order it, and it will be $285.00. I always thought a lot of Goodyear tires. But if they are going to affiliate with people like at Flynns, then I've bought my last set of Goodyears!

They're really unprofessional. On 01-11-2012, I called to see what my protection plan was. I spoke with the assistant manager, and he told me that my protection plan covered my tire and they would either plug it or replace it. I call at 4:15 to see what time they closed, and the assistant manger told me 5:30. I was at the shop at 4:50. Then, he told me that he would not be able to fix my tire, because their tech gets off at 5:00. I expressed to them that he did not explain that to me on the phone and that I live 35 minutes away and I need my tire fixed.

So he stormed away with an attitude and call the tech out and told him to just plug my tire. After the tech did whatever to the tire, he rolled my tire by my car and refused to put it on. After I spoke with the assistant store manager, he told me that they were not going to put my tire on my car and that I could come back in the morning. After I explained to him and told him that I was not coming back and he needed to put my tire on, he still refused to let the tech put it on. I asked for the complaint number, and he gave me the roadside assistance number 1-866-237-0401 and told me I can complain all I want and the perception of the assistant manager that he wanted me to leave.

And when I stepped out of the building, he locked the door and refused to open the door and allow the tech to put my tire back on my car. After a while from standing out, the tech came out and said he was off the clock at 5:00 and that he would have to put it on but he was told not to, because he had to get off the clock. I have done a lot of business with this company and refused to ever go back, after the way I was treated. I felt like I was being treated unfairly, because I was an African-American woman. They did not hold up to my protection plan agreement that I paid for. In November 2010, I purchased a brand new 2011 BMW 535i xDrive Sport. The car came with Good Year LS2 run flat tires. After driving the car for two days, my right front tire developed a bubble. Since the car was so new, the dealer replaced it for free. A month later, another bubble struck, only this time it was my responsibility. The only problem is, Good Year decided to discontinue the 19" run flat model that I needed. This meant that I had to either replace all four tires (since it's an AWD car) or go on a hunt for the same tire. I decided to go on a hunt and ended up paying $500 for a single tire. Since then, I have had two more bubbles appear in my tires.

I finally decided to replace all four tires with non-RFTs. I have spent several thousand dollars on Good Year LS2 run flats and I think it's despicable that Good Year didn't reimburse me for the tires. They obviously know there's a problem with the tires or they wouldn't have discontinued them. The BMW forums are littered with people who have had problems with the 19" RFTs.

I brought 4 tires with full warranty. A couple of days later the tire on the passenger front side developed a pimple, so my wife called and was told to bring it in once she arrived. Later she was told that this needed to be approved by a supervisor who was not available at the time. My wife and I had to go back several times to try and get this resolved, and finally the fourth time I was told to leave the vehicle as it would be several hours before my tire new tire would come in and that I would be called when my vehicle is ready. I never received that call, so after eating I decided to return.

Since I only have service through my vehicle dealer, I could not believe that the week prior to this, it was not told to me when I had a service. This is one of the items I had checked and they stated that I could wait on a new battery, nothing is pressing and it was not an emergency; it still had plenty of life. Several times I have explained to Goodyear that I will not service my vehicle anywhere but the dealer. This store still was trying to get me to purchase or take advantage of a free oil change. Once they told me my car would not start for several hours, I wondered why they needed to start my vehicle in the first place, since they have not received my tire, or did they give a reason why they drove it back in the first place? I also had the supervisor tell me that I should get a battery ASAP. I took it directly to the dealer and the dealer stated that this problem did not exist a week prior, and that someone tampered with the battery line.

Your company is looking at future class action law suits and possible suits in general for the scam tactics used to make someone purchase service. My vehicle came with your tires but they will no longer be used on my vehicle as long as I own it. Never again will I purchase Goodyear even if my vehicle has these tires on them when I purchase a vehicle brand new. In a nutshell, I would not even give your company one star. Your Cheyenne store in Las Vegas is unsafe. Since I have never received the call that my tire is in, as promised, I truly know that Goodyear never had me, the customer, in mind and that I would have benefited from spending my hard earned money in a better way in the future.

I purchased a G670RV 80R/22.5 set of four tires last 9/2010 from Camping World in Tucson, AZ. I had them installed on the front and the tag axles (duals were in good condition) had initial vibration issues but after a 4-corner alignment and re-balancing at Camping World Western Tires in Tucson, I found one tire was out of round. I had it replaced and this appeared to fix the problem. With the exception of a few short trips the rig sat over the winter and in June 2011 we traveled to Aberdeen, SD during which a slight bouncing effect was noticed in the seat. We use a valve stem mounted tire monitoring device for pressure and heat with no alerts. After a short trip to St. Paul, MN refreshing my memory of the "bounce" and knowing we would be heading back to AZ soon I took the rig to Graham Tire in Aberdeen, SD. All tires looked good and Graham felt the problem (given the bounce effect) had to be in the rear so they rebalanced the tires. We headed back home Oct 21 with the rig riding beautifully as if it were new. The second day on the road on Oct 22 while traveling south on I25, 20 miles north of Cheyenne we experienced a blowout on the front passenger side tire with no heat low pressure alerts.

It turned out that the thread had totally separated from the tire, departed from the rim and the sidewalls were shredded. Initially we experienced a pulsating 'pssst' sound which caused me to start slowing down then a sudden collapse of the tire with no big bang. With a 42 ft. motor home at 58,000 pounds, had there been a different set of circumstances with the shoulder of the road we would have rolled. Road service searched within a one hundred mile area with no tire replacement. The Tire Factory from Larimie WY provided a G399/11R 22.5 tire which we had to purchase to get us to Denver (300 miles) to get back to a matched set of tires. This is a thread separation issue with a large rig premium Goodyear tire. I am needing investigation on this matter. Thank God there was no major damage with the thread departing sideways and damaging the rim. I feel like this is an alignment issue but we won't know until we get a tire (balanced) back on the rig.

I am writing to Goodyear regarding an issue that has come about. On 10/30/2009, I purchased four new tires for my Lexus ES 350. I took my car in on 9/7/2011 for rotation and balance to the Gemini Goodyear Tire on 18411 Highland Rd in Baton Rouge, LA. I was leaving for out of town the following week. While on my out of town, I noticed that the ride was different. I stopped to check things and noticed that my back rear driver's side tire had some cracks.

On 9/19/2011, I took it into a Goodyear Dealer on West Geoffrey St in St Augustine, Florida for an oil change. The salesperson showed me that the tires were all with cracks and worn on the inside. She stated that these tires were defective from the beginning! My 70,000-mile tires lasted only 28,000 miles! I had to replace all four tires again!

As per the invoice, the tires has uneven wear; the inside edges had 0/32nds and 1/32nds of an inch of tread. The sidewalls were also cracked (not weather related). The salesperson told me that the tires were defective before they were put on in 2009 because they should not have been in the shape they were. I did not get the tires placed that day but returned on 9/21/2011 to have the tires replaced. The staff worked well with me. I was not at all happy with the fact that my tires had to be replaced less than two years later! It cost me an unexpected $297.00 when I am currently unemployed.

I am also upset with the fact that on 9/7/2011, when I took the car in for a tire balance in Baton Rouge (Gemini Goodyear on Highland Road), no one told me that the tires were looking like this! It was the manager who checked me out at the register and nothing was said about the tires. This could have resulted in a blowout on the highway, endangering my life and my family's life.

I am still paying for these tires and my payments lowered as a result due to my unemployment. I am grateful for the help with lowering my payments. But I am very upset with the fact that my tires were defective and had to be replaced. I feel that I need compensation for this issue. I do not feel that I should have had to pay for a new set of tires in less than two years. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

I had purchased my car on February 2010. I have driven 20,000 km so far. Recently, I noticed that a bubble developed on my front tire. During the service of my car, I complained this to the car manufacturing company, to which they told me that the same will be forwarded to Goodyear.

Goodyear took 3 weeks in order to initially address my concern by coming and inspecting my car's tire. They kept cancelling and re-scheduling my appointments for no reasons given. In flat 2 minutes of inspection, Goodyear engineer inspected the tire and told me that the car had been used in the road and probably went over a bump and because of which, the thread of the tire broke and it developed a bubble, and they said that this is not a defect that they can cater to.

I started asking the engineer questions to which he behaved so arrogantly, as if I have done a crime by asking him a question. I wanted to speak to his senior, and after a long discussion, I spoke with some regional service manager at Goodyear who was equally arrogant and behaved so rudely that he will not do anything else except to change the tire with a new one, at a cost of $4,000. The customer service that this company's employees have shown was highly disgusting and pathetic.

Sir, I drive in Delhi/NCR city roads and that's where the car is meant to be used. I am sure that the said company used a low quality thread which could not take normal pressure and broke resulting in formation of bubble in my tire.

The service level provided to me has been of utmost pathetic nature and I couldn't have expected this from a brand like Goodyear! But probably, Goodyear now gives a ** to its customers! I will now not buy a product from such a company and would not recommend it to anyone around!

I request redress for my complaint!

I bought a brand new 315 75 R16 Goodyear MT/R and it had blown out due to a side wall split. Many weeks later, there was no communication from Goodyear in spite of their faulty product. They showed no signs of significant concern considering that their fault almost caused an accident. And now, I am concerned about a similar fault in other tires. Because there was no response from Goodyear, I will be doing everything I can to make sure that they provide a replacement at their expense, do a QA audit of this type of tire, and that I obtain appropriate acknowledgement and apology for their fault and extremely poor customer service.

I will be taking legal action because Goodyear has not fulfilled their obligations. Their management of this product failure is unacceptable on a number of levels:

    a.) customer service and responsibility under consumer law that products are free of fault (if faulty, it must be replaced);
    b.) my own safety;
c.) possible public health safety should there be other tires that are similarly defective; and

d.) if this is an isolated product failure, it has clearly been overlooked by Goodyear post production inspection; therefore, Goodyear is liable for the oversight and consequences thereof.

I am writing in reference to my Goodyear Dunlop Grand Trek TG35 P265/70R16 tires. On August 19, 2011, I was driving on I-10 in FL at approximately 65 miles per hour. The car suddenly got very bumpy and in a matter of seconds, the rear right tire exploded on my Toyota 4Runner. I lost control of the vehicle but managed to finally pull off to the side of the interstate. After examining the damages to my vehicle, I noticed that the tread on the right rear tire completely separated all the way around the tire.

Luckily, the car did not flip or collide with another vehicle. I sustained psychological and emotional injuries and over $2,000 worth of damages to my car as a result of the blowout. My car only has 36k miles on it and is always kept in the garage. The tread on all four tires is practically brand new as it is driven quite seldom, with regular tire rotation/balance/maintenance. There should not be any reason for a tire with this little wear and tear to explode the way it did. I have done a lot of research and realized that this could have had a far worse outcome, and that the tires are indeed defective.

In addition, my insurance company will not cover the expenses of the tires. Now, I am forced to replace all four tires out of pocket for fear of the same scenario and not as lucky of an outcome if this happens again. In my research, I also saw that NHTSA has opened an investigation into possible tread separation problems involving Dunlop tires sold as standard equipment on 1995-1999 Nissan Pathfinder SUVs. NHTSA says it has received six reports of injuries in two rollover crashes that were blamed on tread separations on the Grandtrek TG35 tire. I feel that unless I sustained life-long injuries, paralysis, or death would the tire manufacturer come forward with any goodwill or compensation.

I did not run off the side of the road, and I did not hit anything. When I pulled into my garage and turned the car off, I heard a hissing noise and found that my tire was rapidly going flat. My husband took the tire off and found that the inside sidewall on the right front tire was split in three places. He put the spare tire on so that I could go to Duncan's Auto Repair immediately the next morning.

The manager stated I could only have Good Year Tires and stated that if I bought another set by another manufacture, it would cost me a full price with no credit for other tires. These tires are supposed to have an 80.000 mile warranty.

The tires are all wearing even. I take care of my vehicle. He stated to replace these tires, and it would cost me $222.52 for all four. These tires cost me $125.99 each, without taxes and mounting. These tires look like new except the dry rot on all the tires. This will be the last time I buy these tires. I then went to a tire seller and wheel aligner expert “Haryana Tyre Faridabad” and was told tire is of poor quality. Upon hearing this I went back to Triumph Auto and they registered my complaint in Good Year company. I received an SMS from Good Year that contains a reference number Q0607110193 with an inspection date of July 11,2011, the complaint was registered with them on July 5. Sanjay of Good Year contacted me on July 10 at around 8pm and arranged a schedule for service for July 11 12:30pm at Triumph. I have not received any phone calls from then on so I contacted him and he told me that I could come after 1:30pm. I got irritated and contacted their toll free number 1-800-266-6767 but I got the same answer from there and when I requested to speak to a supervisor, the call was disconnected. I called again and spoke to three different people, two ladies and a man (maybe Gaurav and Rajji) but they seem like they are not interested in resolving issues.

Now can we know who to look for? Will my issues be resolved? I think Good Year is aware of their product's poor quality so they do not listen to the customers.

Since this is a company car and KCL have 25 Tata vehicle so we would suggest not to purchase Tata or any car if they have Good Year tire because the quality is very poor and they are aware of it so they do not want to hear anything if it's about quality issues. They take these issues as a joke because they are already very familiar with those.

Goodyear is selling defective tires!! I purchased four new Goodyear Assurance fuel max tires to be installed on my car on Friday 7/1/11. The garage could not install all four because they found that one of the tires had a bubble in the side with a small whole that the air was seeping out of. The garage showed me the whole in the tire and advised that they think that Goodyear is making tires with a bad mold.

The garage advised they would return the tire and order another so the back two tires could be installed on Tuesday 7/5/11. This was done and the car was driven home from the garage which is located about 15 miles from my home. The car has not been driven since the drive home from the garage.

As I am leaving for work on the morning of 7/7/11, I realize that the back tire on the passenger side is flat!! These are brand new tires with only 15 miles on them!!! I called Goodyear customer service to advise that they are selling defective tires, that out of 5 tires, 2 of them had wholes. The Customer Service Rep was extremely rude and told me that I had to prove that the tire was defective, that I had to take my car to a garage and have them deem it defective. Well, we put air in that tire and watched a small area bubble out and the air start seeping out. I am no 'expert' but it is quite clear that the tire is defective. (I posted the video on Youtube tagged with goodyear defective tire for all to see so no one else pays over $800.00 for these defective tires and takes a chance of getting into an accident because of them.)

I was told that I can only return the tires if they are deemed defective. Right now, three of the tires are still full of air, but how long will that last? Customer service told me that I can only have the one tire replaced, that I have to keep the other three, are they crazy? There is something wrong with these tires. I do NOT want Goodyear tires on my car at all. Why would I let them replace one tire and chance getting yet another defective tire? How about when one of these tires blows out when I am on the interstate?

This issue needs to be addressed by Goodyear. Getting one bad tire is a fluke and bad luck, but two? Have these tires caused accidents? I just want everyone to know about this problem so they do not buy them. If the garage think this is an issue with the mold being used, how many more defective tires are out there?

I went early Sunday morning (recorded message said it opens at 8:30 am on Sundays. I arrived 15 minutes before but the sign says 9 am so I waited 45 minutes), on 6/26/11 for an oil change and brake check. They said that they'd have to charge me $24 just to inspect & apply fee if brake service is to be done. I agreed and had no reason to doubt their trust. They came back and said the front brakes were fine for now but that I'd have to replace the rear for $179 plus tax. I okay'd the repairs and left as soon as it was completed.

The following Monday, I was driving and everything was fine then flew out for business on Tuesday, returning that Thursday evening. As I was driving with my family Friday afternoon, I heard a very sharp metal-scrapping sound but discounted it as nothing because five days ago, I had Goodyear change my rear brakes after a thorough (I thought) inspection. It started to get loud enough that I took it back to Goodyear early Saturday morning, July 2, 2011, just six days later to have them inspect this odd sound and came to find that I needed new disk and pads now totaling about $429.

I asked the technician twice how this could be missed and his reply was that the original guy doing the inspection probably only checked one brake pad (obviously missing the other side) and marked them both off as okay. We went into the office and I again asked how this could be but there were only silence, shrug of the shoulder, and a fee to perform the service (or lack there of). I asked him to give me a better price because of their mishap and he offered a slight discount priced at about $379.

No manager on site, no offer to speak to the manager about my frustration so I left because I didn't want to make a scene. Totally disgusted, I called Pep Boys for a second opinion and they quoted $185 for new ceramic pads and to resurface the disk. Unfortunately, the weaker side was unable to be done and new disk had to be ordered and installed coming to a whopping $285. The guys at Pep Boys even recommended that I look for an internet coupon to help keep the cost down, which it did now costing me $253 vs $429 from Goodyear.

GY is nothing but a poor excuse of gouging, dishonest, incompetent bunch of hacks and crooks. They should be ashamed of themselves with the economy as tough as it is and hard working people barely getting by. Recommendation for anyone considering Goodyear: Stay away, far, far away from this Goodyear located in Charlotte if you can.

When I checked with another auto repair service in town for the same work, I was quoted $436. The next day, when I called and told Goodyear (Dennis) of the price difference, he advised that his company would match the price. At this point, I authorized him to fix it based on what he quoted me -- $436. On Tuesday, Dennis called and advised me that he received disappointing news from his servicemen and that another problem (housing unit) was discovered, and it would cost me an additional $200 to be fixed. I advised Dennis that I did not have this amount and that I could only pay the $436.

Dennis told me that he understood my disappointment and that I could apply for a Goodyear credit card and pay off the balance within six months, interest-free. I told him that I had no plans to apply for a credit card; and that I did not bring my car for service for them to charge me this outrageous amount so that I could apply for a Goodyear credit card. At this time, he advised me that I could take my car somewhere else and have them fix the housing unit but only after I paid them $436 for the water pump, coolant, and thermostat. My brother called the Ford dealer in Deland who advised that the thermostat house part was $37 and that it did not have to be replaced unless the ring was bad. We both spoke to Daniel on the phone and informed him of this information. Daniel advised that we needed to called the Ford dealership in Gainesville.

When we called the Ford Dealership in Gainesville and spoke to Rob, he advised that if the ring is bad, that the sensor and another part had to be replaced and the cost for one part is $58 and the other is $41. I then asked Dennis and Daniel to only charge me $436 plus the parts from Ford ($99), bringing the total to $535. Daniel advised that he could only give me the car if I paid $639, or I could pay $436 and have it towed somewhere else to be finished. All in all, I received awful service from Goodyear. Dennis advised me over the phone that it is 'your company's practice to raise your service prices/parts for whatever amount they deem necessary.' When I talked to Daniel, he pretty much said the same thing, was rude, and advised that I could complain to whomever I wanted, but I had to pay $639 regardless of what I was originally quoted.

I asked him for his district manager's or regional manager's contact information and he said one did not exist. I called the Goodyear store on Main Street and was given your e-mail address. When I went back to the store today and asked Daniel why he did not give me your information, he advised that they do not give this information out. I guess the Goodyear store on Main Street does. I told him that this was not what he said over the phone, as he told me that one did not exist. I am very disappointed in Goodyear. I took my car there in good faith and have spent thousands of dollars in the past getting my vehicles fixed and tires put on. I strongly believe the service and treatment I received from this store location was dishonest, unfair, rude, and definitely not customer satisfaction. I have filed a formal complaint with BBS and have no plans to use Goodyear services ever again. I am out an additional $200 that I was not originally advised of before they took my car apart and worked on it half way.

I stopped into the Goodyear shop to talk with Scott to see how much it would be to get an oil change, etc. We talked about the price of a synthetic oil & why it was what my car should have because of high mileage. I told him I would come back when I got paid. Scott told me that he didn't have any lead way to give me a deal on my oil change but he could & would hook me up with a free alignment. On my break from work, I ran over to see Scott. I needed to get a front tire also. I told him I wanted a synthetic oil change & a front tire & reminded him about his offer for the free wheel alignment. He recalled & agreed to do just that. I left my car with him & went back to work.

He called & told me it was done. I went to pick it up & paid the bill. The amount seemed rather high to me but I figured that he couldn't do the alignment for free. When I got a chance to look at the bill, I called him & he started explaining this & that. I asked him why my invoice said I got 5w30. He said it was the synthetic oil but he had to write it up that way. I then asked him that I wouldn't need to get another oil change for 15000 miles & he then said no, I would need one in 5000 miles. When I first talked to Scott, he had told me 15000 miles for an oil change with a filter change every 5000. I was confused, but Scott reassured me that he took good care of my car. As I went over the invoice again, nothing was what it was supposed to be regarding my request of maintenance.

I felt completely ripped off but felt stupid for thinking that his "professional courtesy" was honorable to begin with. It wasn't until I discovered a huge bubble on the outside wall of the tire he had replaced that the real problem arose. Scott had charged me on the first invoice for a protection plan for this tire. Scott told me that if anything happened to the tire, it would be covered. When I brought the tire back to him, Scott told me that I had hit a curb.

I said no, I hadn't. He proceeded to check my mileage & then told me that I had driven 1000 miles. I said, so the tire was at least a 40000 mile tire. He then told me, no it was a 65000 mile tire. He told me that he was sure that I had hit a pot hole & that's what damaged my tire. I told him yes I had hit some pot holes but that doesn't mean this brand new tire should be damaged. Pot holes are run over all the time. I said, "Besides, you sold me the protection warranty. This qualifies as an anything that could happen to the tire. Whether it's a manufacturer's defect or pothole, it's damaged & needs to be replaced."

He goes on & on about how offices don't open up until Monday, to get authorization to replace for free. He told me, when I asked him if it was dangerous to drive with the bubble on my tire, no, unless I hit a curb or something. He said he's had customers that have driven thousands with a bubble. I said, "Really?" We go into the office where he's working on the computer. He then hands me a quote for $50.99. I said, "For what? If the tire's free." He says for disposal & state fees. Those fees equaled a total of $4.75. He then told me that that's all he could do. I asked him for the district managers name & number, he told me to go elsewhere.

My car is a Honda Pilot and the service adviser at the Honda dealer advised me to go to a Goodyear service center and have the tires replaced. Presumably with a large mileage credit from Goodyear since the tires are advertised with a 60,000 mile warranty and these were shot at just 21,000 miles. So I went to Goodyear and the service adviser agreed that the tires were worn out and needed to be replaced. But after taking my information and plugging away at his computer he advised me that since they were original equipment tires there was no mileage credit available.

Hence, no warranty. So I emailed Goodyear, from the Goodyear site explaining the situation. And they replied, along with a bunch of corporate speak **, ignoring what I wrote, advising me to go to a Goodyear dealer to have the tires looked at. Round and round we go. It was a Goodyear employee driving a customers truck. I was so upset. Parked my car and noticed that the bumper is cracked in half. The Assistant Manager came outside and asked if I was Ok as did the employee who hit my car.

I was ok but out of it because this was not supposed to happen to me on that day! LOL. Well they were all smiles and being very accommodating ensuring me that they would file the claim then the cops drove up. That friendliness went out the door. Now they are being a little rude to say that I'm still a paying customer but I guess they were under the impression that I wasn't going to call the cops, but I learned a long time ago that no matter how minor, call the police! The demeanor of the manager and the employees changed drastically when the officer arrived. They were so rude and against my better judgement. I still let them do an oil change and 2 new tires totaling $328. The entire time my head is thumping and my neck starts stiffening up.

Keep in mind, I got to Goodyear at about 8:30am and when I left it was 1:00pm! And again they were so rude. After I left Goodyear, I followed my first mind and went to the ER at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge where a CAT Scan was performed and it was determined that I have a sprain to the neck and was told no lifting over 10lbs for a week, ice packs for 4 days then warm heat for the next 3. Pain pills and muscle relaxers were prescribed as well. I was glad I decided to see the doctor because had I not, then I would still be in lots of pain versus moderate pain. People never think but the impact of metal to metal at 15mph is about 40mph! I did have my seatbelt on but my head did snap forward and backward. Well after the ER visit, I went home and didn't leave out of my house again until Sunday morning for church. While getting ready my husband asks, "what's wrong with your car?"

I go outside to see what he's talking about and low and behold. Damn Goodyear put the wrong size tires on my car. I have to wait until Monday because they are closed on Sunday. So on my way to work, Monday, I stopped and the Manager is there. Clearly he isn't happy to see me so his greeting is dry! I told him the situation about the wrong size tires and his response, "Saturday was a bad day and you have to come in here and remind me of it!" No joking in his voice. I was like well Damn they act like I did something wrong to them! Have to wait on the correct sized tires to come in from the warehouse to get them changed. There was a slow leak in my right, front tire. It was after work, an hour or so before Goodyear’s closing time. My tire on my vehicle was checked. I could see my car up on the rack. A service worker (his name should be in their computer system) came into the waiting room and informed me he could not repair my tire. He told me there was a hole in the sidewall, and it could not be repaired. He said he had no tire in stock, but could order one. He showed me on a display tire in the waiting room where the hole was located in the sidewall of the tire. I told him, “No”. I was going to call my dealership, which I did, as soon as I walked out the door.

I went to my dealership, Toyota, the following day after work. They had ordered a tire for me and it was in. My mechanic asked me if I was shown the hole in my tire. I said, “No”, and then I explained the story. He then told me, “Well, there is no hole in the sidewall, but in the tread, and it is very repairable! He told me that I had been lied to. No doubt the man was trying to sell me a tire! My mechanic knew the manager and was going to speak to him about his worker’s conduct. This is completely inexcusable! They were trying to rip someone off and that someone is me!

I had recently taken my vehicle to have the scheduled rotation on my tires that I purchased at the Beech Grove, Indiana branch on South Emerson. They made me aware of a situation with my engine struts and a small leak from the transmission pan. Well after, they contacted my warranty department to see if the repair would be covered, and it was partially. I was liable for $100.00 of the repair. No problem there. However after receiving a call that the car was finished and I could pick it up, I got my keys and turned the car's engine over only to realize something was badly wrong with my car. I immediately entered the store and made them aware of the situation.

It was a strange vibration similar to a problem with engine mounts that was not present before the repair. They took the vehicle back in the stall and lifted the hood and could find nothing wrong. I was told if the problem continued to bring the vehicle back in. The next day I brought the car back in, they suggested it may be my battery and since I knew it was about time for a new one anyway I did in fact replace the battery only to realize that was not the problem.. So for four days, every time my car exhibited this strange behavior, I attempted to take the vehicle back so they could feel what I was feeling. Unfortunately when I would arrive, my car would not act up at all. Well the week of February 14th, my car got worse and I was able to bring the vehicle in so that the tech could see what I was talking about.

I dropped the vehicle off to them on Friday, Feb 18 and did not receive a call about my car until today Feb 21 around 3:00 pm, telling me that they could still not find a problem with the car. They suggested to me that I should take the car to a dealer to see if they could find the problem. But my warranty department and myself paid Goodyear to perform a repair that they said they could do. There has to be something done about this. I have been severely inconvenienced and need your help. My wife and I have spent several hundred dollars at this particular branch and expect better service than what we have received. Please advise. We want to keep everything as civil as possible, but also demand satisfaction. Thanks. If this particular branch is not affiliated with your department I apologize and ask if you could point me in the right direction. .

I purchased 4 of your tires (#P19575R14 Weather Handler LS) on April 5, 2008 from the Sears Tire Center in Torrance, CA (Sears repair #AF022637). All four tires are severely cracking around the rims. Warranty is 75,000 miles (**). Odometer on my vehicle total 24,854 miles driven on these tires. I wrote a letter to Sears National Customer Relations on January 31, 2011 due to this abnormal cracking on the sidewalls of all 4 tires. It's been over 2 weeks and they have not responded. I am very concerned because my son and daughter use the vehicle on a daily basis to go to work and school. The tires in the current condition, if continually driven, could cause a blow-out and could lead to injury and result in possible lawsuits.

This is clearly a defect in the tire wall construction and I would like you to investigate whether these tires have been on the recall list or have caused any problems to other consumers. Date code: 1207. I've always trusted the Goodyear brand and have not been disappointed with the reliability of your tires in the past, however, these Weather Handler LS tires that were purchased in 2008 bring up a lot of questions. Were these tires discontinued? If so, was there a defect in the tires? How do I get compensated for these defective tires?

A few weeks ago I took my Ford Excursion in to have some wheels and tires balanced to the Goodyear in New Port Richey. The mechanic pulled my truck in the bay and did a courtesy inspection, checking all vital fluids including the oil. After doing so they balanced the wheels and put the truck on the alignment rack for a courtesy check on the front end of my truck. They came back saying it needed a front end alignment so I told them to go ahead with it. When they were done, they test drove it and came back and said it was ready. I pulled out onto 19 and the truck shook violently at 45mph so I turned around and took it right back to them. They drove it and could not figure out what the problem was. It was near closing so the owner, Bob, asked me if it was possible to drop it off in the morning so they could have it all day to figure out the problem. So I drove it home and brought it back at 9a.m. when the shop opened. Around 5p.m. the owner called me and told me the truck motor blew up.

He said the mechanic was test driving it and the motor shut off at the corner. He also told me his mechanic walked back right away and got 5 quarts of oil and put it in the truck. When the truck failed to start they ordered a battery from Autozone and installed it. However, the truck still wouldn't start so they pushed it back. He then told me it wasn't their fault. My fiance drove up to Goodyear and Bob told her it had no oil in the truck. When she asked him about the courtesy check (checking all vital fluids), he said they never checked the oil and it wasn't their fault. So we had the truck towed out and the new mechanic informed us the motor has blown and had plenty of oil in it. We asked Bob at Goodyear for his insurance info but he refused to give us what we asked for and said we were pulling a scam. In the middle of all this I asked for the security video and his manager gave me a copy. The video not only showed the mechanic checking the oil one time but it also showed him checking the oil twice in a row, before they blew up the truck in the test drive.

I am getting nowhere with this and was wondering if this is something you could help me with. I have all the video proof as well as the invoices showing the courtesy inspection, the checking of all vital fluids and the last invoice saying the truck had no oil in it. I cannot believe companies can get away with this stuff. They want me to pay the $4,800.00 for a new motor which I cannot do. Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help. Thank you very much.

However, the Goodyear "salesperson" told me that it would cost $422 to totally overhaul both my rear brake assemblies, which is something I just did this summer myself with 100% all brand new parts. I told the salesperson that I'd be happy to have the broken part replaced. To which he responded that they cannot because once they touch the brake they own the brakes. So almost two months ago, I got in my CRV and hit the brake to back out of the parking spot. I noticed what I thought was fluid releasing and the brake pedal seemed to be closer to the floor. No lights came on (brake light or anti-lock brake system) to show me malfunction. But I still wondered if something has gone wrong.

I decided to only do necessary errands and head home early while being very careful with the brakes. So, my husband took our CRV to the Goodyear on North High Street in the Graceland Shopping center a couple of days later. They took all day to look at it and came back with a quote for $1200 to fix and replace the front brakes/calipers.

Well, my husband is in college and I am disabled, so coming up with $1200 is a lot for us. So, we decided to we would call around to find someone else to do it cheaper. Now, my cousin is a mechanic/manager and had time. We mentioned the problem to him. He said he would look at it and might be able to fix it for us for the price of parts. Since it was still going to cost money for parts and we had a couple of major personal issues come up (that cost us a lot of money), I had to wait a little while—like almost two months.

During that time we were down to one car. I have to have the car because of doctor appointments and such. So, David was stranded at college without a car for a while. I would have to drive up and get him to bring him back on the weekends. We also rented a car one weekend. So, anyway, my cousin looked at it and there was nothing wrong he said. The brakes are at 50% so that is why it doesn't feel tight. And there was fluid. The rotors look good and the calipers look good. Plus he drove it 50 miles to and from his shop/work.

No problems and he said I can come get it. Ugh. So Goodyear was going to take us for a ride for $1200 for nothing. Unbelievable. That is the last time I or my husband will take our cars to that Goodyear. If you are looking to see if they are good to have work done, I would suggest, if you have a major pricey quote from them, to have another mechanic look at it and get a second opinion. Otherwise, you could spend all that money for nothing basically.

I took it back Wednesday and they said they'd check it out. They called me at work and said one of the tires was damaged. They also told me I'd have to buy 2. They gave me a "warranty credit" for both so I ended up getting 2 tires for $90 (There was only 10,000 miles on the tires - Dunlop SP60's). He wanted to charge me for lifetime rotate-and-balance but I talked them into transferring from the 2 old tires (hassle). The manager said "drove it myself, runs like a top." I

drove off the lot and it is now pulling right! I took it back Saturday and they proceed to tell me that they left the 2 bad tires on the car. They replaced the wrong 2 tires! So, they ordered me 2 new tires (at their expense) and said to come back Tuesday and offered me 3 oil changes for my inconvenience. I went back Tuesday to get them to put on. On May 17th, we traveled to Ithaca New York from Montgomery Village Maryland, a distance of 299 miles. We had the car serviced the day before and expected no problems. Upon arriving in Ithaca, the car (a 2001 Ford Explorer) lost power and would not move. The car was towed to Good Year Automotive Care Center on 410 Elmira Drive, Ithaca New York. The car was examined by the mechanics and specialists at Good Year and we were told that the upper air intake manifold had a hole and that part needed to be replaced.

They told us that the part was not available on a Saturday so that we would have to wait over the weekend or they could plastic weld or temporarily fix the hole with epoxy. We were skeptical about the repair and its reliability but faced with the extra expense of staying 2 more days in Ithaca we agreed to pay the $588.64 charge for the repair to the upper manifold. The following day we returned to the Good Year and they assured us that the repair was done and that the car would make it back to Maryland. We made the $588.64 payment drove the car 2 miles to Cornell to load the car with our sons dorm room possessions and proceeded to head home. Approximately 3 miles outside of the town, the car began to lose power again. We returned the car to Good Year.

This time, the specialists at Good Year Ithaca informed us that there was another problem with the car that they had missed. In addition to the upper air intake manifold, the lower intake manifold was not fully sealed and needed to be repaired. Moreover, driving the car with the unaddressed problem in the lower intake manifold seals had led to damage to the catalytic converter. This meant that we would have to wait in Ithaca for the next 2-3 days for the parts, including the upper air intake manifold, lower intake manifold seals and the catalytic converter. The cost of the repair, not including the prior $588.00, would now be $1870.44.

The resolution was they would now order all the parts needed to replace the upper air intake manifold and properly seal the lower intake manifold and replace the catalytic converter. Therefore, we would have to stay in Ithaca another 2-3 days for the repair. We then had to book a room for Sunday night, Monday night and because the repair still had not been completed we stayed an additional night on Tuesday. During that time we checked with the nearby Ford retailer to make sure the upper intake manifold, the part that was the original problem, had been ordered and were told the parts had been ordered and delivered to Good Year Automotive Care in Ithaca, which was just down the street from the Ford parts retailer.

Late Wednesday afternoon we were told that the car was repaired and we returned to the Good Year Center in Ithaca to pick up the car. We were told that the work was on warranty. As a precaution we, also rented a second car to follow the Ford Explorer from Ithaca New York to Montgomery Village Maryland because of our well founded concern for the competency of the Good Year Auto Service team. We returned home to Maryland with the car and the rental late that Wednesday night. On Thursday we noted oil spots on our garage floor indicating that the car was leaking oil. We brought the car to a nearby independent auto service center who put a dye in the engine oil and found that the leak was coming from the air intake manifolds, precisely where Good Year assured us they had completed the repair.

We returned the car to Good Year Auto Care Center in Rockville Maryland who held onto the car over the weekend and said they disassembled and reassembled the whole repair job and found no problem with the repair. We returned home with the car, however it still continued to leak oil at the same rate. We continued to drive the car but eventually the leak became worse and the car began to lose power as it had done both before and after the first repair by Good Year in Ithaca. We returned the car to Good Year in Rockville Maryland where they examined the car and claimed that the oil leak was not from their repair but must be from some other location not related to their repair. They said they stood by their work and claimed that the difficulties we had with the car was not due to their work.

We then paid a second repair shop to examine the car where they removed and examined the seals for both the upper and lower air intake manifolds and found that the upper air intake manifold was sealed with epoxy. This was a strange finding since the Good Year in Rockville told us that the repair was fine and there was nothing wrong with the either the upper or lower intake manifolds and seals and Good Year in Ithaca told us that they had replaced the upper intake manifold with a new one (that we had waited 3 days to receive in Ithaca) and that the parts and service were under warranty.

At this point the only interpretation we could make of these events was that either Good Year in Ithaca had not replaced the original damaged air intake manifold as they told us they had said, or they may have possibly cracked the new intake manifold during installation and repaired it with epoxy. Either way the upper intake manifold was not in good condition, which is contrary to what was stated by Good Year Auto Care in Rockville.

At this point we were very confused about the situation and we contact Gemini which we understand or the underwriters for the warranty program for Good Year Nationwide. We were told that they had transferred money to Good Year Rockville to examine the car during the initial visit and that all issues would have to be referred back to them. However we were told by the Good Year Rockville manager, Bill that there was nothing that could be done for the car and the oil leak was not due to work done by Good Year.

So now were faced with 2 different inconsistencies. 1) We were told by Good Year in Ithaca that they had replaced the upper air intake manifold, a part that we were told was ordered, installed, and under warrantee. 2) Good Year in Rockville tells us that the upper and lower intake manifolds are in good shape with no mention of epoxy or a temporary repair that would need attention.

So as of August 6th, the car remains in disrepair and is off the road with the same problem that was supposedly repaired on May 19th. Since the initial repair, our cost for the room for the extra days stayed in Ithaca combined with our cost for requesting an independent auto care center to get involved has exceeded $4000. Good Year has been unresponsive to this problem after several attempts at resolution and the story between two different service centers in Ithaca NY and Rockville MD has been inconsistent. Finally the car still remains in disrepair. We are therefore disputing charges to my American Express Card.

I purchased four 80,000-mile tires for our 2008 Mazda on 12-29-2009. When I purchased them, the salesman Ray explained they would have to call me to come back for the 4-wheel alignment because it had broken. Two days later, I drove there because I never heard from them. Ray again took it back. Ray stated he wouldn't charge for it since he never called me to come back and I came to them. I thanked them very much and left.

Over a period of time, the car was making a noise which became louder and louder. Because we had no idea what it was and we had our warranty through the car, we took it in to find the problem on June 30,2010. They came, got me and showed me I needed four new tires due to it not having an alignment when tires were put on. I explained what they had said and done. Mazda made it very clear they never did an alignment and the tires would never be this bad even if it had gone after.

I went back to the purchase place, Autocenter Goodyear. When I walked in prepared with receipt from them and Mazda, I asked for Ray and asked him if he remembered me. Ray stated that I bought tires, had to come back and we did an alignment. I stated, "Well, sort of." I just left the dealer and they said that I need 4 new tires. He said he needed to look at them and proceeded to walk outside and look. He said that I must not be getting them rotated (which I do and have receipts for). Then, he said that he wanted to schedule a day for the alignment, walked in back to see schedule and came back up front. Before he could speak, I said I have in my hands a statement from Mazda saying they could not do an alignment due to needing tires.

Ray then said, "Well, I went and talk to Paul (which I never saw to this day and that was to ask for Ray) and Paul stated that when I came back for the alignment, he told me I needed it but I did not want it and therefore, they could not do anything." This is a flat out lie and Ray even said that when I walked in, he supposedly gave us one. Why in the world on a new car would I buy $900.00 in tires and go back to the place two days later. Ray's reply was just to see if I needed it and also stated your word against ours. I put a lot of money in these tires and want it back or want it fixed correctly for 4 new ones and a full 4-wheel alignment.

I have been a customer of Goodyear for several years. However my last visit was disappointing. After a recent visit, I noticed that one of my lug nuts was different from the rest. When I took my car in to be serviced, all my lug nuts were identical. It is truly an eyesore for me. I went back to the Service Manager to complain and ask them to correct the situation for my satisfaction. I was told that it was not a safety concern and it was only a visual issue. I was put off by the way my complaint was belittled first of all, and knew from the behavior of the Service Manager that he was not interested in correcting the situation. I am not happy with the visual appearance of the wheel.

On December 4, 2009 I purchased and had snow tires installed by Goodyear Auto Center Wolf Road, Albany, NY 12205. Since that time, I have spent approximately $1270.00 on car repairs on my 1996 Camaro, which I believe are due to Goodyear's shoddy work. Prior to having snow tires installed at Goodyear, my car was operating perfectly, with absolutely no mechanical problems. It is now running very poorly with emissions problems and a steady SES light on, and my remote car starter and air conditioner are no longer operable.

It appears the Goodyear mechanics are extremely limited in their knowledge, and rather than admit such, they have dishonestly agreed to perform repairs they are obviously not qualified to do. The Service Engine Soon (SES) light came around a month after they installed my snow tires. Since then, I have brought it to Goodyear repeatedly to resolve the problem as I thought the repairs were under warranty and they would correct the problem. I feel their mechanics have either caused the problem, or not determined the problem and done unnecessary repairs, only to resolve the problem for a week or two, when the SES light comes back on.

After one of these repairs, around a week later, my oil pressure was so low it created a potentially dangerous situation in which my engine could have caught fire as the gauge dropped to "zero" while I was driving. I brought it back to Goodyear and the mechanic admitted they may have overlooked "something" and installed an oil switch. Each time they work on my car, the SES light comes back on within a week or two. I had to find alternate transportation to and from work until I could arrange to bring the car back to them to have them look at it.

Goodyear has caused me undue duress and financial hardship for the past 5 months with their trial and error repairs, only to finally inform me this week, that I should not worry about the SES light being on. This is unacceptable! The following is a detailed account of the repairs and communication with Goodyear: On December 4, 2009, the snow tires were installed, fluids check, transmission fluid was changed; radiator flush was done without my permission (this was done 4 months prior by a different mechanic). When I stated that, I was refunded 50% of the cost and told to try to get the other 50% back from the previous mechanic (in other words, one of us lied to you).

On January 18, 2010, the SES light was on and EGR valve was installed. On February 2, 2010 the SES light was back on. It was towed to Goodyear. They said there was a cylinder misfire; a tune up was done and an ignition coil was installed. The remote car starter no longer works; Goodyear stated., "We don't have anything to do with that", although it worked before the tune up. On March 10, 2010 SES light was back on, and there's zero oil pressure! The oil pressure switch was installed free of charge. On March 30, 2010, it had low coolant so the mechanic added coolant. I thought they added coolant when they flushed the radiator!

On April 20, 2010 oil change was done on the 26th, the SES light was on again, and on the 30th, it was reset by the mechanic. On May 5, the SES light was back on, flashing, and the air conditioner was inoperable. Three attempts were made by the mechanic to look at the car, and I was told to come back. On the 11th, the SES light was still on, the car had loud emissions, was running rough, fast idle, running hot. The mechanic looked at engine, stated that cylinder # 1 was misfiring and that the alternator belt needed a pulley. The mechanic stated I should have the pulley repaired but it is okay that the SES light was on, and the car was safe to drive with the cylinder misfire, and that this is something they are not equipped to repair.

I have since conducted my own research about Error code P0301; cylinder #1 misfire. As the car's exhaust is loud, my guess is that the car has needed a $10.00 exhaust valve; all the while Goodyear ripped me off for more than $1200 worth of repairs. I plan to take it to a reputable mechanic to determine the problem and I am requesting a refund from Goodyear for all the repairs listed that did not resolve the problem. It cost $1270 in repairs, the problem is unresolved. The car runs hot, rough idle, has emissions problem, and misfiring. Ans the SES light is still on.

I wanted to make you aware of an issue with a local Goodyear Tire. I went to Goodyear for a regularly scheduled oil change and the next day, my vehicle lost all its oil and is now inoperable due to the engine blowing out. I have listed the details of this event below:

On Monday March 29 2010 at approximately 1:30pm, I took my vehicle (2004 Audi A4 Quarto) to the Goodyear Tire at Atlanta, GA for a regularly scheduled oil change. The mechanic who worked on my car is Keith and the Store Manager is Mike. Later at approximately 5:00pm, I picked up my car and drove it approximately 3 miles to my home after having the oil changed and the 2 front tires replaced. On Tuesday March 30 at approximately 4:30pm, while on my way to the Atlanta Airport my vehicles oil light came on, began smoking and eventually stopped.

So at 6:00pm my car is towed to the Goodyear tire located on Hammond Drive. The next day, Wednesday March 31, I was contacted by the Goodyear's claims department and was notified that a claim has been opened concerning my car's damage. I was told by an adjustor that my file is in a review status and that an inspector had reviewed my vehicle and it appeared that Goodyear was not liable for my vehicle's damage and that the oil change was conducted properly and my vehicle's damage (inoperable engine) is due to pre-existing oil leaks.

Per my request, I have my vehicle towed to a local mechanic who has performed maintenance on my car in the past (Jason European Motor Cars, Atlanta, GA) On Thursday April 1, I spoke with Jason and he informed me I need a new a new engine and is now providing me a quote. My goal is to have Goodyear take full responsibility for my failed engine and cover the cost of the repair and any other expenses incurred due to not having my vehicle. I would also like to prevent other consumers from becoming victims of this Goodyear.

I had a bad experience at one of Goodyear's service centers yesterday, and would like to comment on it. The service center in question is located in Terre Haute, IN. I have used this service center in the past, and while the prices are generally higher than most other places around, I have always felt that they do good work. But now that has changed. One of my wife's tires had developed a slow leak and we took it to the service center to see if it could be repaired. The car had been driven a short distance while the tire was low on air, so the sidewalls were scuffed, but not torn or shredded. At the time, we also chose to have the Spring Car Care package (oil change, etc.) done to the car.

We left the car there for service, and asked to be called when the car was done. A short while later, the service technician, Matt, called to say that the tire was irreparable. He proceeded to try to sell me not one, but two new tires; because he said that just replacing one would cause the car to pull while traveling down the road. I was somewhat skeptical that the tire couldn't be fixed, so I asked that he just do the oil change and I would come and pick the car up. I got to the service center about a half-hour later and the car was still up on the lift. Matt then told me that he wanted me to see the tire before I left. He walked with me out to the car and showed me the scuffed sidewall. He told me that the scuffing was where the tire was leaking, that it couldn't be repaired and advised me that the tire was not safe to drive on in that condition.

He repeated that I needed not just one, but two tires to make the car safe again. When I told him that I didn't have the money for tires, he tried to talk me into getting a Goodyear Credit Card; but was not successful. It did not appear to me that the tire had ever been removed from the vehicle, and there was no evidence that anyone even looked for a leak. I purchased these tires less than two years ago from another source, and as they were still under warranty, my wife and I decided to take the car to the shop where we had purchased the tires that evening to replace the tire; as at least some of the cost of the new tire would be pro-rated.

When the service tech at the shop looked at the tire, he said that it could be fixed quite easily, and since the tires were still under warranty, it would be free of charge. I feel that Goodyear's service tech, Matt, tried to pull a fast one on me by trying to get me to purchase two tires that I didn't really need. As a result, I will never return to that service center again; and will advise anyone who will listen to avoid it as well. Oh, and I noticed a few drops of oil on the floor of the garage after my wife left for work this morning. I guess I'd better check to make sure the drain plug is tight, and check the oil level as well.

I took my '98 Chevy Blazer in last Monday to have them check my breaks as they were squealing. After sitting at Goodyear for two hours before they even looked at my car, I was told that I needed front and back break pads and rotors. The bill was a little over $400.00. On the way home, I noticed that my car was not driving right. It felt like I was driving with the parking break on. I could smell the burning break pads.

I called and was able to take my car back in Wednesday morning. The manager of the Goodyear ended up working on my car this time to see what had gone wrong. He came out with my calipers in his hand and showed me the problem. He said there was gunk behind the pistons which caused them to stay extended and ruin the calipers and fry the break pads. He told me there was no way they could have foreseen this problem, which I have a hard time believing. If there was stuff behind the pistons that made it hard for them to go back in, wouldn't the mechanic have had a bit of trouble putting it back together the first time? Maybe it was getting too close to quitting time.

What bothered me so much is the manager's solution to the problem. He told me I could get a bundle of break pads and calipers for $60 each (at "his cost"). But I just bought break pads two days before! He told me they would waive the labor charges. I don't think I should have had to repay for the pads and maybe not even the calipers.

I feel this was a shotty job of trying to cover up some one's shotty work. Our family has been going to that Goodyear for many years with no problems. But that has all changed. They second guessed me that anything was wrong with my car before they even put it up on the lifts. I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am a woman and don't know much about cars. I just saw on the news that they're doing a boot camp for women in my area to get to know your car. I'll be going to those classes so I don't get duped again.

This is a letter sent to Signature Tire (Goodyear):

On July 19, 2008, I brought my 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix and clearly asked if you rebuild engines. I was looking for a complete rebuild and a company that would complete the services successfully with quality workmanship. You told me that you do this type of work and decided to take the job. I left the car with confidence that the work would be done correctly.

You pulled the motor 2 days after I left the car, and you found numerous issues/problems with it. You took it upon your self to contract the motor out to Pacific Engines who rebuilt the motor. It was clear that you did do the installation of the motor but ultimately were responsible for all work to be satisfied.

The car was completed on August 9, 2008 unsuccessfully and was brought back to the facility 9 times over the course of 5 months for engine problems, which were directly related to your work.

The first significant problem was the tapping under the valve covers. The concern was quickly dismissed, and I was told by mechanics that there were no issues. The car was brought back again for the same reason a few days later, and the 2nd time, mechanics admitted that there was a concern and that the valves had to be redone on the left driver's side. You decided to have Pacific Engines diagnose the issue, and they admitted that the left side of the motor had to be taken apart and adjusted. You kept the vehicle for another week for repairs.

The vehicle was picked up the week of November 12, 2008. I asked if this vehicle was safe to drive with confidence, and mechanics told me that it was. I drove the car 300 miles up north, and on my way home, the engine blew a head gasket. It was leaking oil and became inoperable. The car was dropped off in front of your shop on November 17, 2008, the following Monday. I attached a letter to the window stating the issues at hand in great detail as well as the frustration on my part.

I had given you ample opportunity to rectify the problem. You decided to stand by your work and address the concerns. You had told me that the engine had to be completely rebuilt a 2nd time. You had stated to me that one of the possible reasons this occurred was due to using the incorrect fuel octane. I had made it clear that 91 octane is the only fuel that I used, which was recommended by you. Nevertheless, you brought it back to Pacific Engines again for a 2nd complete rebuild.

I picked the car up on December 12, 2008, approximately 4 weeks later. This time I was hoping that the engine was built correctly. Unfortunately, there were a few more problems that had to be resolved. During the last pick up, you had asked me to sign some paperwork prior to releasing the vehicle. In the paperwork which you asked me to sign, it was stated that you were not going to be responsible for any further mechanical problems and that the main reason for the 2nd rebuild was due to driver's negligence.

I made it very clear that I would not sign and disagreed with you that it was driver's negligence. I also made it very clear that if this problem should continue for any reason, I would take this to another level and seek legal action if necessary. Since I refused to sign the paperwork, you refused to give me the final paperwork which was my documentation for services on the 2nd rebuild.

Today is February 19, 2010, and I am writing this letter to inform you of yet another problem that has occurred with this engine with less than 7,000 miles since December 13, 2008. The engine has completely failed again because of your poor quality of workmanship. Due to your lack of competence in this engine build and your lack of responsibility as a mechanic whose duty is to insure that this vehicle was repaired and performs properly in accordance with current standards, the attempts on your part have failed.

I want you to understand that you had a duty to use ordinary and reasonable care. Ordinary care generally means the care that a reasonable man would exercise under the circumstances. It also can be defined as the degree of caution and concern for the safety of his self/her self and others an ordinarily prudent and rational person would use in the circumstances. I want you to also know that I have more than enough sufficient evidence to prove in court that you were negligent in performing the repairs properly, that you used poor quality workmanship during the build, that your negligence is the reason for my loss, and that you failed to use ordinary and reasonable care.

In addition, I have more than enough sufficient evidence that improper repairs were the main reasons for the loss of this engine and that this is the reason I am having to endure yet another expense to fix your mistakes.

As a result of this unfair and deceptive practice, I suffered a loss of money in the amount of $3,729.29. Therefore, I hereby demand the following: Relief in the amount of $3,729.29 for damages, which is sought. I am giving you 30 days to respond in good faith. If you choose not to respond by March 21, 2010, I will pursue the case through the court system. It is only fair to warn that I may report this matter to Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation as well as the Bureau of Automotive Repair, if I do not hear from you. I strongly encourage you to contact me to settle this case out of court. If you choose not to, I will do whatever is necessary to seek all damages in full.

I took my 2002 Taurus, against my best instincts, to the Goodyear shop near me. A few times I was there, they tried to tell me to do $500 worth of work that I knew I didn't need. That's because I had a regular mechanic who checked my car every 3-4 months with every oil change. My mechanic was busy that week. So, I went to Goodyear on Wednesday, 2/10/10. When I drove the car, it would shake and it would feel like a gear was slipping. The idle would hum very loudly for 6 to 10 seconds.

The next day, my neighbor asked me what this shiny object in my passenger-side tire was. He said it looked like a screw. I was just grappling with what this shop could have done to my engine. Now, I had another minor inconvenience. I wasn't in the shop and didn't see how the nail came to attach itself to my tire at the same time they were alone with my car. The coincidence was so alarming that I went online to glean any similar experiences other motorists might've come to experience. True to my suspicions, I found many motorists who who've had the same experience as mine. One of them, Ashley of Covina, California (who wrote on August, 28th, 2009) had almost the same experience as mine (please see attachment).

I spent the next day, Thursday, Feb 11th, 2010, pondering what to do. I had to tackle the nail that was slowly leaking air. I went to Town Fair Tires and had the tire repaired and they were also sure that the noise the car was making was because of an alignment I needed. So, they hit me with an $84.00 bill. The noise was still there.

Saturday, Feb 13th, 2010, I went to see the manager and told him about how I came to his shop with a good car and ended up with a whole lot of problems. They asked me to pay for the test. I refused. So, he took my car for a test. When he came back, he told me that it was my transmission. I told him I never had an issue with my transmission before. He said it was "Murphy's Law" and gave me a card for Paul & Brian at Capitol Transmissions who would "take care" of me. He said to tell them "Harold" sent me. The store manager said it would cost me $2,000 to rebuild the transmission.

I suffered $84 to fix the tire and do the alignment that turned out to be the wrong diagnosis. The transmission shop said that the cost of rebuilding my transmission would be $2,000.00.

I purchased a 2006 Nissan Maxima in June of 09. The car had Goodyear Eagle RSA tires on them already. I returned to have the car serviced a few months later, and was informed by the service department that there is an issue with the side wall splitting with my particular tires. I was told that I could go to any Goodyear dealer and they would be replaced.

On an icy, snowy morning at 6:30, before I had a chance to get the tires replaced, I had a flat on a major interstate. When the roadside assistance guy came to change the tire, the whole sidewall was split on my left front tire. I took the car to a Goodyear dealer a few days later and was told that they could prorate or adjust the tires after they spoke directly to Goodyear.

I then called Goodyear myself and was told that the warranty only covered the tire for a certain amount of miles and years, but they would start a claim for me. They called back in to the Goodyear service center and informed them that they would only replace the one tire that split at 73% of the cost of the tire, and I would just have to wait until the others split to get them replaced. Even the Goodyear service manager said that he did not understand why they didn't just replace all of them, and he had never heard of them doing it this way.

I personally will never buy a set of Goodyear tires again. They have had major issues over the years and seem to have a problem admitting their problems, and taking care of their customers. I guess it takes people getting killed and a press battle with ford for them to admit their faulty tires. I am also going to lodge a complaint with the USdot because it is obvious that there is a problem with these tires dating back years that Goodyear will not own up to!

I have been using Goodyear for a long time. When I moved to Orlando, every time I went to this particular office, I felt ripped off. First, I asked them to replace my transmission fluid and engine coolant. They, of course, asked, "Flush the transmission and engine coolant?" and I said, "No, I do not want any flushes of any kind, just replace them." They asked if I want a transmission flush and I said no. I just need them to replace the transmission fluid. When I picked up my car, they had done an engine coolant flush. I was so angry that I just walked out.

Then, I needed a few things done: rotation, oil change, cabin filter replaced, new wipers, etc. They informed me that I needed 2 new tires so they could not rotate them - fine. I had an idea of what my bill would be (~$375). I was handed the bill for $475, and was asked how I would like to pay. I was shocked and asked them to please explain the charges so I could understand. They were shocked, and even said, "Wow, people usually just pay and leave." There was $100 in extra and incorrect charges that they had to take off. They apologized and said how weird it was that it was so wrong. I don't even want to know how many people they are doing that to.

Also, they put my 2 new tires on the front. I should have checked this but I assumed they were professional enough to know better. Shortly thereafter, my car fishtailed on a highway, I narrowly missed a truck, and crashed into a divider. My car is damaged, but I am unharmed thankfully. Thanks a lot, Goodyear.

There is a chapter in John DeLoren's book, On A Clear Day You Can See General Motors, entitled "How Moral Men Make Immoral Decisions"; in my opinion the use of the Goodyear Integrity tire by any automobile manufacturer is another example of the lack-of-a-rear-antisway-bar type of issue which set General Motors against Ralph Nadar, concerning the Corvair of the 1960's. I understand the need for cost-driven decisions, but for consumer-economic, public safety, and environmental reasons, somebodies made the wrong decisions in letting this tire onto millions of Toyota Corollas, Dodge Caravans, Honda Pilots, and presumable others.
Imagine driving along a highway, in another new Toyota Corolla rental car, this one with about 12,000 miles on the odometer. It starts to rain, but the road is straight and there's no traffic. A few minutes later, when you need to stop, you find out that you don't have really don't have any brakes, and go sliding through an intersection, perhaps missing your intended stopping point, from about 50mph, by some 100ft. The above scenario happened to me, a couple of years ago now, but I continue to watch other Corollas theaten both their occupants and others on the roads, and thought I'd do a quick Internet search to find out if there's any movement to get this tire off the road. Apparently not, and equally apparent, not everyone bothers to look up their car's tire performance on tirerack.com. Continuing my story, I eventually pulled off the road, stopped the car, and had a suspicion that I should check the tires. It was a rental car I was driving, after all. I laughed when I saw that they were Goodyear Intergity tires, the same type of tire that had come with my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. [Those tires had been great, even in snow, until about 15,000 miles, when - like someone flicked a switch - they became dangerous in the wet or snow, from a serious lack of grip. Going from memory, I'd junked those tires with about 6 or 7/32" of tread depth left.] I cautiously drove the rented Corolla the 3 miles home, in the light rain, testing the car as I went. I could get the car moving, somewhat normally, only if I took my foot off the brake pedal, and if I kept my foot off the gas; once it was going I could feed in more gas, but stopping/braking ability was so poor that I kept my speed low (well under 30mph), and in fact was never able to get the car to go faster before coming up to another intersection and leaving "excess" room to stop. If, when restarting, I used the gas pedal, the front tires would just spin, and would not "hook-up". Using the gas, I could hold the engine speed at 1,500rpm with the tires continuing to spin for a 30 second test, and the car itself barely moving. Or I could do the same at 2,000rpm, or at 3,000, or at 4,000. People on a passing bus looked out of their windows, probably wondering what I was doing. Eventually, I had to make a few turns to get home, and I parked the car until the next day. At home, I took a closer look at each of the tires. I used my tire tread depth guage, and found a consitantly uniform tread depth of 8/32" across the face of each tire. Having had these tires before, it was again obvious that tread depth was not the issue. New, these tires have a tread depth of 10/32"; generally the government rule is that tires with 2/32" of tread should be scrapped, although there is a lot of evidence indicating that 4/32" should be considered the minimum tread depth to deal with hydroplaning. [Note: when a car is driven, then parked, driven then parked, the tires are heated (when driven) and then cool (when parked). This heat cycling continues the vulcanization process which turned the liquid rubber into the solid tire. Over time, and with use, the tire tread becomes harder, and it's grip for both starting, stopping and cornering, in the wet and in the dry, is reduced. Despite the fact that there may be enough tread depth to resist hydroplaning, the tread compound is no longer appropriate: this is the Goodyear Integrity tire's problem, in my opinion. The next day, after it had stopped raining and the roads were dry, I returned the car to the rental company. I mentioned to the attendent that this was a potentail disaster for some other future renter. I called Toyota Canada and told the poor girl who answered the customer relations hotline that Toyota and Goodyear had knowingly created a car and tire combination which was likely to have caused the death of some of their customers, and probably others on the road. A couple of days later, I believe completely unrelated to my complaining about the rental car to the local Dicount Car and Truck Rental office, I recieved a customer satisfaction telephone survey call from Dicsount, asking how I had enjoyed my experience with their rental car. I had previously rented from Discount perhaps some 20 times, but this was the first time I'd complained. I told them that they had a problem, and a potential liablility, and the surveyor politely thanked me for my input.

I have a complaint with Goodyear regarding unprofessional and unethical behavior of the Goodyear Tire Store Managers located at the 4934 Hardy Street, Hattiesburg, Ms store today, 11/10/09. At approximately 3 pm today I called the store and asked pricing for front brake replacement on my 1999 Chevy Blazer. I was quoted a price of 159.95. I asked if my daughter brought the car in the next little while, could they replace the brakes today because she needed to take it out of state tonight. Mike told me yes - they could do it. I asked what time they would be closing and he stated 5:30 pm. I asked again if that was sufficient time for them to do this and he said yes. It took my daughter about 30 minutes to drive to the store. She left the car with them with the understanding that they should replace the brakes and call her if any problems arose. At 5:10 pm, they called and told her they had to keep the car overnight because they had to order parts which would not be in until tomorrow. She again explained to them that she was going out of state tonight. They told her that her calipers needed replacing (this was just done a few months ago and she knew it and told them so.) She told them she must come and get the vehicle. They told her that she would be charged $40.00 for looking at the brakes. She called me enroute to the store to pick up the vehicle. I called the store and talked to the man at the desk again (Mike) and he told me that if she would not leave it, there would be a $40.00 charge and if she did not pay it, they would hold the vehicle. I reminded him that he had told me they would have time to replace the brakes and were supposed to call if there was a problem. He bgan yelling at me and said, "Lady, how did you expect us to do this when she didn't leave it until 3:30 or 3:40 when we close at 5:30. I reminded him that I had asked twice if there was sufficient time and he had told me yes. I then asked to speak to a manager as my daughter was there by this time and unable to get the car. He put a service technician on the phone. I asked him what parts were being ordered since all we had agreed to were brakes. He stated the calipers were bad and have to be replaced. I told him that they were just replaced recently. All we asked for were brakes. He then put the service manager on the phone. The service manager answered very arrogantly that i should have known there was not enough time and that the calipers are truly bad and they ordered them. The only way that he would let her have the car tonight was if she paid $40.00 - or she could wait until tomorrow and have the brakes and calipers replaced. I explained to him again that was not possible. He said well she will pay $40.00 then. I asked why and he stated that there is a $40 charge to look at the brakes. I reminded him that we knew the brakes needed replacing - they knew they needed replacing also because she had just been there the day before to have a tired repaired. Today was not for "looking" - but for replacing and was agreed upon beforehand. He then cursed me and told me to tell her to get the car and get out of there. I called her (she was afraid and standing outside the door of the store) and told her to go inside and get her keys and leave. She went inside and they threw her keys across the counter at her and turned around and walked off. I called them back and advised them that I would be filing a complaint. Mike laughed loudly and hung up on me. I do not appreciate being treated like this as a human being or as a customer who has throughout the years purchased Goodyear tires for my automobiles. Their conduct was uncalled for and unethical. Not only did they not provide the service they agreed to, but they also attempted to scam me with unneeded repairs, then treated me and my daughter with utmost disrespect.
I plan to file a case with the BBB immediately but want Goodyear Corporate to know what type of representation Goodyear is getting in Hattiesburg. Susie L. Jordan

I had taken it in to Goodyear who was running a sale on oil changes only to find that the filter was on so tight they could not remove it. VW had done the previous oil change so they are the ones who replaced it too tight. Now VW says Goodyear stripped the housing and it will cost me $490.00 to change it. Goodyear won't pay for damaging the housing and VW won't admit it is their fault for putting it on too tight in the first place. Funny thing is...I told the service writer at VW that I had taken it to goodyear and that they had told me they couldn't change it because it was on too tight, and only then did VW find something wrong with the filter. Think they would have just changed it if I hadn't mentioned going somewhere else first? I only mentioned Goodyear so they would match the $49.00 price of an oil change. Small claims court would be my next step but which one should I sue?

The Manager (Marcos) was telling me that other places wouldn't use the good brands and saying things so I would buy their services. Marcos' employee, Steven (I believe), was pushing me into getting the services done and didn't tell the mechanic to put my tires back on so I could leave, he just kept trying to pressure me into buying things. I took it to a Good Year in San Diego and they did work that was not required such as cleaning the fuel sensor. The next day I had to take it back and they discovered that it was the O2 sensor. Upon replacement it was discovered that defective spark plugs were put in. They replaced the defective one and told me to go to the Good Year in Redlands CA. I won't do that. I'd rather pay extra for a Ford dealership to do it right. Interesting thing to find out that Good Year is about making money but not high quality service. I plan to own several cars in my life. Good to learn early that Good Year is NOT the place to go for QUALITY customer care. At least for me it isn't.

On August 26, I took my Nissan in to get an oil change and get my tires rotated. Every time I come to this Goodyear, they always try to get more money out of me, saying I need this and that when I really didn't need to. So when I went in this time, they told me that I needed new tires because the front wheels were going bald. I told them just to rotate them to the back because my lease on the car is up soon, so I was going to turn them in soon. He still reordered the tires that I needed for my car, but I didn't think anything of it. I left, went to school and came back home. Everything was okay.

On Thursday, I got ready to go to class and my back tire is all of sudden really flat. It was so flat I couldn't drive, even tried it back to the dealership. I had a feeling that they did something fishy with my car, so I had my dad replace it with my spare tire and sure enough, there was a hexagon screw in my tire. Although I cannot prove they did it, I truly feel that they placed that screw inside my car and they placed it in there so that my tire would go out slowly. And why would he still order the tire I needed for my car when I told him I didn't need it? I'm going to report this to the Bureau of Auto Repair and I am definitely never going there again.

I was an employee of Goodyear corp. I had been transferred to a Goodyear in Shingle Springs CA. I was set up by the store manager to be fired due to a Bureau of Auto Repair violation. I was mistreated and yelled at and discriminated against by the store manager and other service manager while I was employed there. We have a list of policies and procedures to follow and the management mentioned above was not following them. I reported the misconduct to my District Manager and I had asked for a transfer due to the mistreatment. I was told there was no other place to go. I was accused about a month later of trying to sell ball joints to a guest for his four-wheel drive Dodge Dually. The guest was not happy and went to two other shops in the Placerville area and was told he did not need ball joints. I was informed via email intercept that there was a BAR complaint being filed against me by a guest that the store manager was friends with. I emailed the District Manager regarding this and was ignored. I was called into the manager’s office and was told by Larry that I was probably going to be fired for the complaint.

I took some time off and went to look for another job. I requested to defend myself by having the guest bring his vehicle in to the Goodyear and I would show him the worn ball joints. I was denied. While I was on leave for a week, the guest was called in to re-check the recommended repairs. They had the BAR Representative Brian **, District Manager John **, Larry **, manager and a tech from another Goodyear present. They re-inspected the vehicle and found I was correct in my findings. Upon returning I walked in and informed the Manager I was no longer wishing to stay employed at that facility. I was told ok and also about the findings. I had been previously mistreated by the Manager in a constant belligerent manner for six months on a day to day basis and I was denied my sick pay for going home early on one occasion although I was clearly ill. I was denied my vacation time I had put on the calendar until a couple of days before the date. The other service Manager was allowed to take vacation on any day or week. I was constantly harassed by Larry in front of guests and sworn at in front of guests.

There had been several violations of company policies and procedures involving wheel offs and incorrect repairs and also turning down a guest’s request to have his tires replaced for free due to premature wear (These were Dunlop Direzza DZ101 that wore out in less than 10,000 miles.). I was told by the Store Manager that I was not to replace his tires. This also turned into a BAR complaint. There was documentation showing failure of the brake systems but the guest was informed that all was ok by the other Service Manager. The guest returned about a week later with catastrophic brake failure in the rear shoes metal to metal and complete hydraulic system failure. I have copies of these documents to prove the actions above mentioned and signed off by the techs involved and Service Manager. I am a master tech with 30 plus years in the industry and a level 3 Chrysler Dodge tech. I was forced to resign due to the constant humiliation and badgering in all ways. I applied for unemployment due to the circumstances and was denied due to the fact I had left. Goodyear references show me as non-rehirable and with prejudice. I have a family of seven and have a single income family.

I went to have my oil (synthetic) change and left with my center hubcap loose enough to be lost on my way home. When the missing cap was noticed, my wife called up to the center and spoke to the manager on duty. He reported that they secured the cap, in other words, tough luck.

I called after hearing this and the same manager said he told my wife that they would replace the cap (lie #1). I went to the center the next day with the part number and description and they said they would order it (lie #2). I waited a week and when I went back, they didn’t have the cap ordered and said they tried to contact me (lie #3). At that point, they wanted to take another of my center hubcaps to use as a comparison.

Now, after all these lies and the lack of competent service from the start, I laughed and told the “technician” not to take off my cap and for him to tell the service manager they lost a customer. I have not heard a word from Goodyear since and I spent the $54 to replace the cap. I went for an oil change and lost a center hubcap. Now I wonder what else was a lie that day.

When I found out she was charged $65 for a cabin filter on a car with only 10,000 miles I was furious. I went there and demanded to see the original filter. The technician rummaged through the dumpster and produced all the air filters (and over half were like new). They found the air filter that was removed and it was clean as new. Hold it up to the light and the light shines through everywhere. The only damage was a few smudges from being in the dumpster.

I told him this filter was like new and didn't need replacing. John's voice started to crack and he asked if I wanted a refund. I said, I sure do. This is fraud. So he refunded the $65 and agreed to re-install an OEM filter. In this case the only damage was the frustration and inconvenience, however I am placing this commentary to advise people that these guys recommend unnecessary repairs. Keep in mind he knows about my warrenty with Marone so he knows he's not going to sell me 4 new tires!
He takes the tire off and rotates it with the back tire and puts the spare on the back. Now it is the holiday weekend and I can't attend the memorial day BBQ's because I can't risk driving my car with the "donut" on it, with my kids in the car. I call The service department at Marone, I speak with the Service manager and express my concerns regarding the type of tires that are being replaced each time. never mind that this keeps happening. She tells me That marone can only replace my tire with the same type of tire the manufacturor put on the car if I want to use my warranty. She suggest's I go directly to Good Year, and if they find a defect they will replace it. So i go to good year on Tuesday May 26 2009. There i speak to the store Manager. he is very helpful. he does the inspection and finds that my other right front tire is starting to seperate as well. He call the Corparate office and gets the approval to replace the 2 tires, but only with the same type of tire. EAGLE LS. I ask the guy is this normal for the tires to seperate like this. He says "The EAGLE line is known for it!" My jaw hit's the floor! I say to him "GOODYEAR is aware of this problem but yet they continue to produce these tire's and install them on cars?!" He just shruggs and smiles! So of course I do not want my tires replaced with this type of tire. he says if you want a differant type of tire you will have to pay the differance. Now i am beyond mad. As it turns out they were out of stock of the EAGLE tires so he showed me the ASSURANCE tire which just happens to be the same price as the EAGLE, so I did not have to pay anything. Now I have read complaints on this site about those tires too. I drive 80miles a day to and from work and i drive with 3 children in my car. Who has to DIE befor some one does something? By the way when i brought my car in to my mechanic and he showed me those bubbles and wire coming through my tire, he also told me that had i not been driving in the rain on Friday I would have had a blow out and could've rolled my car and been Killed! The wet road kept my tire cool and helped it aviod blowing! If it had been a hot sunny Florida day, I could be Dead! And who may i ask would my family be suing? GOOD YEAR? The Car Dealership? After finding out that It was going to cost me about $600 with the alignment I went ahead and authorized for them to do so because it was something I needed. In the mean while my husband and I along with our 4 children ranging from 5 months in age to 6 years old, the oldest being special needs, we continued to shop in the plaza behind the Good Year shop. After two hours had passed, a total of three hours since they had the car, we went back over to see if they were getting close to being done. I asked the sales manager and he said about 30-45 min's. I thought that's fine we can wait to go and get something to eat if its only going to be that long. The kids started getting anxious after a while as we took them out of the waiting area trying to not disturb any other waiting guests even though it was 90 degrees outside, no over exaggeration. An hour passed and I approached the sales manager again to find out what was going on at that point the service manager came in and told me that they were having problems with a rotor and that he was putting it all back together right now and we should be leaving. Another 20 min's passed and all we saw was our SUV going up and down on the lift and going for another test drive. They continued to check the vehicle over and over when I started to question if they even had any clue what they were doing. I then asked the sales manager again how long. I told him my kids were starving please let us know if it's going to be longer so I can get them something to eat if it is. He came back and let me know yes it's going to be a while longer we may have to order another rotor. We decided to walk to a near by restaurant and eat something. When we came back the car was still being looked at and not fixed yet. By this time the store was closing and they told us that they put our old rotor on the wheel and that it wasn't making any sound but we had to come back tomorrow to get another one that they were unable to get a new part today. When I went to pay I was charged for the part that is not on my car yet which shocked me enough. I then go to get in my car and notice there is grease all over the inside of the driver door. The test drove my car for a total of 9 miles which I think is absolutely ridiculous. They said by putting the old rotor on there was no sound, well when I stopped the car at the first stop sign it sounds just like it did when I brought it in and still is not breaking well. When I got on the highway to come home I let my hands off the wheel to test the alignment and I instantly was crossing over three lanes of traffic. Not only did I spend 6 hours waiting for my car but at the end of the day my car wasn't even fixed... at all! I am now expected to go back to the store tomorrow to get the part put back on though they have not even shown that they have the competence to fix anything that I asked in the first place.

In 2006, my wife leased a new VW Beattle from a dealership in Santa Cruz County, California. The car came with a set of new Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. My wife coummutes 40 miles round trip five to six days a week to work. The car has approximately 60K in miles on it. The tires have not been mistreated- surface streets and freeway use only. On 4-25-09, my wife drove to work and parked in a public use garage and spent eight hours working. When she returned to the car the driver side front tire was flat. A tow service was called and they put on the spare tire. It was at that time the tow service driver showed my wife the inside sidewall of the replaced tire. In brief, about 90 percent of the side wall had separated from the main tread to the point the metal bands were exposed. When my wife got home I crawled under her car and saw the passenger side front tire was also in the same defective condtion. I took pictures of both tires and downloaded them onto my computer. The cost to replace all four tires will be over $500.00 based on a Sear's estimate. I checked the internet for recalls and safety bulletins on Goodyear tires. I found there was no formal recall of this tire, but Goodyear was doing a "silent recall" replacing tires for customer satisfaction. I found many similar complaints about these tires, the Eagle RS-A, separating at the sidewall on the internet.

Goodyear associate yelled on me and humiliated me. So I stay here defenseless. I bought tires manufactured by a Goodyear Tires Company. Free rotation came with the purchase. Last rotation I did in Goodyear shop located in Claymont, DE. For the next rotation, I came to Just Tires shop on Kirkwood in Wilmington, DE. The written conclusion states: Driver's side, front and rear and passenger front, one lug each rim, cannot get to come off. Goodyear was the last to put wheels on. Nuts appear to be striped on. Shop technician did not try to remove wheels forcibly.

In other words, they did not want to do repairs for their cost, neither did I for my cost. I had to bring car to Goodyear in Claymont, DE. That is the place where previous rotation was done. Associate on his blouse was named Manny took a look at both invoices and started loudly yelling on me, calling me **. (I am not comfortable to mention this here but what can I do?) He was forcing me to leave the shop. He wanted to call the police and yelled that G-d will take care of all of us, etc. On my request to speak to manager, he showed me on the door out.

After all of that, he went to service bay. He came back with mechanic. That mechanic called himself Ray, a manager. He said he did not want to know what was going on in between me and Manny. He also took a look at the invoices. We went outside to write down numbers from the label located on the frame of the car. He promised to call me the very next day and to take care of the problem. All that occurred on 04/06/09 at 5:00 pm. Today is 04/23/09. I have not received the call yet. I do not want to bring my car to that place anymore. I do not suggest to anyone to deal with that shop that is Goodyear at Tristate mall in Claymont, DE.

On April 10, 2009, I dropped my 2001 GMC Yukon off at Goodyear Service Center at 407 NW 75th Street in Gainesville, Florida for a resurfacing job on my rotors. I dropped the vehicle off and picked it up later that afternoon. It wasn't until the same night that I realized the right side mirror had been partially melted. This damage was not there prior to dropping off my vehicle. The following day (April 11, around 4:15), I was able to make my way over to the same Goodyear and speak with the service manager named Tom, who came out, took a look at it, and could clearly see that damage had been done. He agreed to re-order the mirror and would be in touch with me.

I gave him over a week and re-contacted him on April 20, 2009 at roughly 9:20 a.m. - only to be told that his district manager told him not to fix the damage that was done. He completely denied even having the capability of burning/melting the right side mirror (when every repair shop has some sort of blow torch for stuck nuts and bolts). This was a completely different tune than what he was singing a week ago, where he not only acknowledged, but apologized. I am frankly disgusted and perturbed that Goodyear would treat a loyal customer this way.

In the last month and a half alone, I have spent well over $1,000 at that particular Goodyear and have no need in general to try and scam my way into getting anything for free. Like I said, records show how much money I have spent with them. I understand that in these tough economic times, district managers are only concerned about their bottom line and nothing else. But to damage a vehicle while it's in their care and then refuse to right a wrong just shows how badly this particular Goodyear represents the overall company. I'm severely disappointed that Goodyear not only goes back on its word but does so in such a sad, pathetic manner - it's unreal. I would truly hate to see how they would treat a first-time customer versus how they treated me, a long-term customer.

In December 08, I took the two rear tires off the vehicle and I realized that two of the tires, two P255/70R15s were made in 2002. The paperwork for the tires indicated that the serial numbers were made in 2005. On December 30, 2008, I contacted Kent Olson about the serial numbers not matching and the three-year discrepancy with the two tires I purchased. I was informed that there is no store policy concerning the selling of older tires. He said that it was not uncommon for incorrect serial numbers on the paperwork due to the number of tires he sells. Mr. Olson did not offer a replacement for the two tires or arrange for a reduction in cost for two new tires. I explained to the owner that due to the older tires, I did not want to risk driving a car with these tires. On 1-20-09, I sent a letter to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Corp. Customer Service manager informing him of the details, including sending him copies of the tire paperwork with incorrect serial numbers. I have not received a response from Goodyear as of this date.

This store has tried to scam me twice on brakes. The first time, I went for brake work and was told that I needed a new brake drum. I knew the drum was nearly new, having only 5,000 miles on it. The DMV inspected the brakes, spoke with the shop that had previously replaced the drum, then interviewed the mechanic at the Goodyear shop and had them look at my brakes, again. Goodyear admitted that the drum was like new, but claimed that it had mistakenly read its digital micrometer. That was when this shop was new. Recently, I made the mistake of having them look at another vehicle. They said it needed a front brake caliper, pads and rotors needed turning. Suspecting the caliper may be good, I took it to trusted shop that was further away. I told them that that caliper was suspect. They could have sold me a caliper, but said it was fine. They did the work for $255, which included new rotors, whereas Goodyear wanted $400 but would only have turned the rotors.

The service manager suggested that I should file a claim with my insurance company. In 10 years that I owned the car, I had experienced no (zero) problems with vehicle. And in less than 24 hours in their possession, it is destroyed, and they claim it is not their fault. The vehicle was in almost new condition, never involved in an automobile accident and had only tires, a battery and windshield wipers replaced over the entire time I owned the vehicle.

The entire vehicle, including all personal possessions (garage door opener, eyeglasses, tapes etc.) were totally destroyed. Owner, Hank May, who in his ads asks his customers to contact him if they are ever dissatisfied, refused to take ANY phone calls or respond to any letters sent to him by me concerning my loss. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, I called around to find a good deal on replacement tires for the rear of my custom '92 F150 Flareside 275/60/17. I reached Goodyear in Port Orchard, WA. Glen quoted me $125 per tire for Kelly Safari Trex. I asked him if he could make a better deal, $250.00 out the door. He stated he could not do that, but he could do $250.00 plus tax out the door. We agreed and he said he could have the tires delivered from his warehouse on Monday for install Monday PM. I agreed to this.

On Monday I called from work and Glenn told me there was a mistake. My tires did not come in as he stated they would. Glenn then said he did not know why the tires didn't come in, but that if I'd agree to wait another day, he would make sure they would be available Tuesday, and that he would make it worth my while by giving me a better deal. He stated there was some type of incentive or rebate that he needed to process the order in advance. He requested my customer information including credit card number to place the order. I complied. In hindsight, this may not have been a good idea.

I arrived on Tuesday at 3:30. Glenn was not there, however, Anita assisted me. She immediately handed me an invoice to sign for the tires Glenn ordered. I see the invoice at $315.20. This is not the price Glenn quoted me ($250.00 + tax out the door) and it doesn't show any additional savings I was promised for being inconvenienced. I told Anita about my phone conversation I had with Glenn. She said she cannot honor anything Glenn promises me. I am about to cancel and ask for my credit card charges to be reversed, then Anita asks if she can give me a free 4-wheel alignment which is valued at $79.99. I consider for a second, then decide to go ahead. I handed over my key ring.

I was sitting watching TV in the waiting area when a young man approached me an asked if there is a trick to starting my truck. Of course, there is not, but I am now concerned as I gave my key ring up with multiple Ford keys. I went out to my truck and found the steering column stuck, the shifter stuck and the ignition lock ring in the the position without a key in it. I tried for several minutes and my key will no longer go into the ignition. Attempting to move the auto shifter and steering wheel does nothing. I was a little upset as I entered the store and turned my key ring back over to Anita. I told her it's obvious the young man forced the wrong key into the ignition and I'd like them to fix the problem. Anita handed the keys off to a mechanic, who took the young man out the the truck. I assumed they used some small tools to align the ignition and they got the correct key in.

The truck was taken into the bay for new rear tires and a four wheel alignment. About 1 1/2 hours later, another young man came in and handed me a clipboard saying my truck is finished. He's asking me to sign off. I looked at the paperwork and there is no mention of the four wheel alignment either in the writeup or any copy of the alignment results. So I asked him and he said there were no alignments needed. I told him that may be so, but I'd like to verify it and see the results. He told me it's no policy to print wheel alignments when the vehicle doesn't need adjustments. This does not feel right to me so I went to Anita.

I told her I'd like a printout of the wheel alignment that was performed or at least what each point was at. She told me she's sorry, but the results were not saved and I'd have to either wait for them to do another or come back later. So I asked her how could I ever prove an alignment was ever done if something comes up in the future? She had no answer. At this point, I feel like I was bait and switched with prices and tried to be bought off with an alignment that I'm not sure was ever done.

    1. Tire pricing agreed upon over the phone was not what I received.
    2. Product was not available when promised.
    3. Agreed to a later delivery date with a promise of an even better deal that never materialized.
    4. Credit card charged more than discussed and without the additional savings promised.
    5. Salesperson Glenn not at work and Anita would not honor his price quote. The quote should have been kept in the computer, but it was not.
    6. Promise of a four wheel alignment, but was not listed in my invoice of work completed. Neither were any test results from the said alignment. I kind of find it hard to believe a '92 Ford F150 getting new tires needed no change to alignment whatsoever!! Go figure. Maybe I should have LES SCHWAB check it. I bet they will say it needs some correction.

    7. Key forced into ignition and the tire guy not admitting his mistake.

I didn't crawl under the vehicle to check that they put it on there, but on my way to work, the pressure light came on in my vehicle. I checked the 4 tires and they were fine, so I assumed that they put the spare in place of the patched tire and the patched tire as my spare. I planned to drop the spare when I got home, fill it and see if it was leaking. When I crawled under the vehicle, the spare was not there. The only places that my truck has been is in a parking deck at work (secure) and in my garage.

The Goodyear location insists that they put it on. The floor manager stated that he crawled under there to put it up himself (which I highly doubt). Perhaps they didn't put it on correctly and it fell off... I don't know. All I know is that it isn't there.

I asked him if I could drive it and if they filled up the antifreeze. He said it would be okay for a couple of days. I was very concerned because it had been 30 below 0 that morning.

I ALWAYS get a second opinion. I had a guy who owns his own shop take a look at it. He said there were NO leaks and filled the antifreeze up. I have not had any more problems. I don't think Goodyear filled the antifreeze back up and if they put any in, it was not much at all. The light came on 2 days after they looked at it. After my mechanic filled it, it has not come back on again. Goodyear and Firestone must like trying to rip off single women. Both have tried to get me. I am no fool and ALWAYS get a second opinion.

All four Goodyear Weatherhandler LS tires had sidewall failures over the last year. These tires still had plenty of tread to wear, but are junk because of sidewall leaks. Each one failed on the blackwall side of the tire and showed no evidence of being damaged by road debris. When the first tire failed, I thought it was due to something I probably didn't notice being run over and damaging it and I just replaced the one tire since the other three tires appeared to still have about 50% of the tread left. Then about two weeks later, another went flat sitting in the driveway. I attempted to inflate it but it wouldn't even take any air. I thought this was strange since the car had not been used in a couple of days and the tire was fine only the day before.

I replaced that tire with the same "Jetzon" tire as the one I had to get two weeks earlier. This time, I took the car to my mechanic who put both new tires on the rear and the last two Goodyear tires up front. The mechanic inspected the tires and told me that they had "bubbles" in multiple places on the sidewall and will eventually fail. I did not have the funds to buy more tires so I had to take the chance and see what I could get out of them and save some money in the meantime. About three months later, the third tire went flat and I replaced it. And now, a month after the third tire, the fourth and final tire has gone flat. I have put the spare tire on (which is a Goodyear from the set of tires that were on the car before these junk Weatherhandler LS tires) and I have an appointment to get one more Jetzon tire tomorrow. I have had many sets of Goodyear tires over the last twenty years of being a faithful customer, but this experience has ended all that. It will be a long time before I buy another set of Goodyear tires.

I went to my local Goodyear Service Center located at 5107 West Saginaw Hwy Lansing, MI 48917 (517) 321-4892 for a normal oil change on my 2007 Hyundai Sonata. When I arrived at the facility they appeared NOT to be busy. But, I am a very easy going person so I suggested to the facility manager that provided it did not take more than 2 hours I would be willing to let them drive me across the street (about the length of a football field) to an everything under-the-sun, including the kitchen sick store, NOT TO BUY ANYTHING, just to waste time.
I gave them my cell phone number and asked that they call me when they finished and I would meet them at the same door (there are only 2) that they dropped me off at so I could be picked-up and taken back to their facility. Understand, this occurred on December 10, 2008 in Michigan. If you know anything about Michigan winters it can be REALLY COLD outside! On this particular day, with the wind chill the temperature was well below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Even so, it was a beautiful sunny, I was feeling very good health wise, so I decided to venture out of the house. I am a male with a disease that is usually associated with women, Lupus (SLE) in addition I have a very serious case of Reynaud's phenomenon. To control my Lupus one of the medications I take is Cellcept. This medication is generally used for transplant patients to reduce their immune systems. Thus, the obvious is reducing a person's immune system could result in a person being more succtable to illness. I am also on a w types of Schedule II narcotic pain medication. One is called Duragesic Patch 50mcg (This medication is 9 X stronger than morphine) and the 2nd medication is Loratab 10mg. 4X daily. I also take other medications related to my disease that have no bearing on my story. In relation to the Reynaud's phenomenon, it is serious enough for me to have an certified assistance dog (which I did not bring with me that day because I was feeling so well) and during the winter months my doctor has ordered home health care. I have a nurse come to my home 3 days a week and an internal medicine doctor come to my home monthly. I will return to active visits with my Rheumatologist in March of every year. The most serious problem I have with Reynaud's is that when my body tempeture makes a sudden drop, so does my blood pressure. The first time it happened to me was when I was 16 year's old and I jumped into a pool in the middle of summer on an 80 degree day and I immediately passed out and sank to the bottom of the pool like a rock. When EMS arrived, they were unable to get a pulse or B/P on me; it wasn't until I got to the hospital and they ran warm IV fluid through my system that I responded. I was within minutes from death when I was in the hospital. So, now I have gotten the LONG history out of the way I can talk about the instant issue. On December 10, 2008, I went into the above stated Goodyear Auto Service Center for an oil change. The service center took me across the street in THEIR COMPANY vehicle. While in this store I spent 20 minutes to get a haircut and the remainder of the 2 hour wait I did nothing more than sit on a bench and people watch. After approximately 2 hours at this store I received a telephone call from the service center saying my car was finished and the man said, "I am finishing up something and I will be there in 10 minutes." After I waited and waited and waited at the end of an hour I felt like I had no choice but to look for an alternative transportation. I do not have family in the area; my closest family lives over 120 miles away. I also do not have any close friends since I am primarily a shut-in. (As a demonstration of how much of a shut-in I am, the only vehicle I own, the 2007 Hyundai Sonata it was purchased new in August 2006 and to date I have a total of 2980 miles on the car. The majority of those miles were put on by a family member who borrowed the car to drive it from my house to Dearborn, MI then to Chicago back to Dearborn and then to Lansing again. Essentially, the only people I know in this town are my doctors, their staff, and the pharmacist and the pharmacist techs. They also happen to work at the store that I was stranded at by Goodyear. I sought the assistance of the pharmacy staff and since they were "short-handed" and "extremely busy" they were unable to offer any assistance. I was essentially out of luck and I was so distraught that looking back on things, I did not handle this situation in my best health interest. At the time I felt my only option was to put my life in God's hands so I walked to the facility. I made it to the facility without immediate incident. Again, looking back at things today, in my opinion, I managed to get to the facility and my over-the-top reaction to being stranded was solely based on Adeline. When I arrive back at Goodyear that day I was outraged. I was feeling as if I could pass out at any moment and I was in tremendous pain. But, all I could see was red and no less than 10 employees that were standing around doing nothing. I screamed and I yelled! The same person whom I had met when I first arrived was identified as the manager never apologized for no one coming to get me; rather he made up excuse after excuse as to why I was left stranded. He finally told the person behind the counter in exasperation, "Do not charge him." That started a new dispute because I insisted, "I did not want to be paid-off for their lack of customer service." I told them it was NOT going to stop me from exercising all of my legal rights from free speech to litigation if warranted. I also refused to sign the customer's receipt of the bill. Again note: Through-out this latest dispute I continued to insist on paying them for their services. I was continually told, "My manager told me not to accept any money from you and I have to follow his orders." In conclusion for that moment I left the Goodyear store and immediately came home and climbed in bed fully clothed where I stated for the next six (6) hours. I attempted to discuss this issue with the customer relations department at Goodyear and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Patrick. He was very rude and never allowed me the opportunity to tell him the repercussions of the corporate store's negligence which could have cost me my life. Instead of listening to my "tale-of-woe" he took the position and refused to get off the position that the store did not have a responsibility to "taxi" me around town. I attempted to make the point that once they put me in the company vehicle, THEY made the choice to "taxi" me around town. I continually asked to speak with his supervisor or the executive office and he said, "I am as far as you are going to get." I kept repeating the same request and he finally hung-up on me.

Sure enough, it did. Almost every personn in there as i waited was told something beyond what was expected was wrong with their vehicle. I think their practice of drumming up extra business however possible should be well publicized and their ratio or failed inspections vs other service stations should be investigated. I was told my brakes were bad, but no evidence of specific reasons was provided. Needless to say, the car will NOT be serviced by Goodyear, nor will we ever return and we will encourage others to avoid them as well!

November 8th I blew a tire on the 15 freeway near victorville. after roadside assistance attached my spare. I proceeded to a goodyear store on Bear valley rd. When my car was finished I was told I had a left brake cylinder leak and it would need to be fixed right away. I was told to go to the Dealership. Being a Saturday I aksed the person ringing me up if the dealership would in fact be closed because of it being the weekend. He assured me it would be open. Im not familiar with the area being it's 150 miles or so from my home. After finally finding this dealership I came to find the service dept was in fact closed on weekends. After asking countless peoples advice I was able to make it home. I just had to check my break fluid along the way. Which I noticed for having a leak my fluid wasnt receding at all. Monday November 10th 2 hours after dropping my car off at the dealership I get a call stating my breaks are fine and there is no leak. there was just assembly lube on the outer parts of the cylinder, which is normal. I called and spoke to John at the Victorville goodyear and he set me up with an appointment at another goodyear located near my dealership. After going to that goodyear I was told that it looked like it may or may not be brake fluid and could possibly be assembly lube. After that I took it straight to a personal mechanic who took one look at it and said it was assembly lube and that you can tell the difference. I have all the paperwork signed my each person involved with my car. I have emailed goodyear and will be sending faxes and mail until I recieve some sort of response. was not called by the first goodyear at the time they found the problem to see if I wanted them to fix anything. I was shoed away to a dealership that was closed, and I was told it was an urgent matter. My car is not even two years old with just over 12,000 miles on it and shouldnt be having break problems in the first place.

The next morning after I had the tires put on I woke up for work and I noticed my drivers side back tire was almost flat so I called the Goodyear store where I purchased them from and they told me to put air in it and if it holds all the way to work I should be good. Well I did and when I got out of work it was almost flat again. So I called back and they said I could bring it on in. So I did after about an hour in the waiting room the manager comes out and said their is nothing wrong with the tire that they can find so I said then why is it leaking air. He said well you have a cracked rim which probably caused it. So I said it didn't crack over night why did you put a brand new tire on a cracked rim. He then said that the worker must didn't see it when he put it on because it's so small of a crack but either way there not liable. So it's my fault because they did not see the cracked rim before they put the tire on. I still don't understand if he's implying that the crack in the rim was already their why didn't the used tires I came in with get a flat I had never gotten a flat before with the tires I had on prior. Still he would not give in and take any liability. S o he tells me I need to go out and by a new rim and purchase a new tire and he would give me a little percentage off the tire.I refuse to do that so he said the best he could do is seal up the crack and put back on the tire I had came in with the day before. But he recommended that I do what he said because it's very dangerous to be driving with it like that. I left and the next day I called the corporate office and explained the situation and how this is my only transportation and how I have my five year old daughter driving in this car everyday and how we need to resolve this situation for safety reasons. Well they blew me off and said I need to prove it. They shipped off that tire to the claims dept and three weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying Goodyear is not responsible for anything and that's that. Since then I have been driving with the same used tire on my car with no flat it has been 8 months since this incident has happened. I have contacted the attorney general office and dmv public safety and no one has been able to help. I feel like I was ripped off taken advantaged of and not valued as a customer. $219.00 gone down the drain.

It cost me $55 even though I bought the road hazard warranty. One of the flats was caused by a rock between the treads. The rock itself would not even scratch my skin. Before I bought these tires, the other set was Bridgestone and I never had one bit of trouble with them. I still travel on the same roads and at the same speed as I did before. The Goodyear tires simply can't handle them due to poor quality material and inferior construction. I have bought Goodyear for many years with no problems. I will never buy Goodyear again. I can understand having an occasional flat, maybe once or twice during the lifetime of the tires, but I have had flats on every tire and they are still mostly new tires. Goodyear should definitely recall these tires. I would like a full refund so I can buy non-Goodyear tires. I have lost all faith in Goodyear and I doubt very seriously they will ever regain any of it!

I was told that my 2005 Cadillac SRX needs ALL four tires replaced before I can pass inspection. I currently have 22,760 miles on it. Dealership & goodyear store told me that this was 'normal' for a performance tire. I told them no way and proceeded to read the horror stories online regarding these tires. Apparently, they are used for all the high end vehicles, but when you are paying so much for the car initially, you don't expect to have to buy tires at 22,000 miles. It will cost me approximately $1200 to $1300. That's a price I'd be willing to pay at 42,000 miles not 22.

I'm furious at the arrogance and total disregard of both goodyear and cadillac. If I want my inspection sticker, I have no recourse except to buy new tires, and make sure I will NEVER put goodyear tires on my car again. (PS. My son's 2002 Honda SI has performance tires-the originals that came with the car and they have 47,000 miles and are still good!)There was a recall on certain Eagle RSA tires on Jeep Cherokees and the tires were replaced. There was also a service bulletin pertaining to some type of 'revised' RSA tires for the Cadillac SRX, but I really couldn't follow the whole deal. I think we all know that tire manufacturers continue to ignore the issues and defects that can cause serious injury. Having bald tires at this mileage is unacceptable. Sidewall failure involving Goodyear Assurance line of tires (rated for 80,000 miles). Four new tires were installed in September of 2004. In October of 2005 at 20,000 miles, the driver's side front tire developed a tennis-ball size separation in the sidewall. The tire was prorated and replaced with another new tire of the same variety. At 55,000 miles (September of 2008), the replacement tire failed in the same manner as its predecessor. With regard to the tires that did not suffer sidewall separation, each tire had to be replaced before having passed 60,000 miles of usage. There are two issues of concern here: 1) that none of the tires got beyond 75% of their advertised life expectancy (all tires wore evenly and the vehicle has no evidence of wheel alignment problems); and 2) two of five identical tires failed in the same unusual and unexpected manner -- both tires failed with sidewall separation (one on the inside, and one on the outside) on the side of the vehicle away from any incidental contact with the curb, and the vehicle is driven only on paved roads.

Once they changed over to their own credit card system from a loan agency of the contracting store we initially obtained credit for tires and automotive service; then started the exploitation of by servicing agent with connection to their providing credit card servcies. They took advantage of service provided, damaged articles and falsefied needs for repairs or did inappropriate service or incomplete service; several times taking an attitude toward my questioning of service provided to belittle, degrade and humiliate me publically and thru contact with agencies I tried to obtain assistance to resolve matters with appropriate consideration of all involved. They insulted and were unreasonable when their service which was to have been warranted, in demanding I take the car elsewhere and not come back to their shop. My reason was they had damaged the vehicle in repairs and repairs were done incorrectly and they were politely requested by me to check what I was speaking of.

in one case they put us in a life threatning situation with wheel bearings on a vehicle and it came about only because they had gone into the wheel without authorization by me and said it was for a brake check. The bearings were fine prior and infact were done but shortly before they took the wheel apart, the slipping of the bearing was felt on the very day the car was driven out of their service center but went on after 3 later visits to 3 goodyear shops to check the problem.....it turned into them doing the wheel bearing job when it was totally damaged, they also damaged the hub in taking out the bearing and charged us for the damages they created, the scoring on the race matched the hub cored and was not result of the bearing going bad. They would not let me take the car out of the shop when they took the wheel off and said the bearing was bad, but insisted if I wanted to move it I had to call a tow truck and tried to demand that my capacity to do the job was not reason to release the vehicle.

I have worked on mnay model and years of vehicles since 1973 and dont' appreciate their insults since I never had these kind of problems until we had a Goodyear Credit Card and their service shops doing the work. I have discussed mechanical work with many qualified and reputable mechanics and they concurred with my ability to do so. I tried to obtain Better Business Bureau help and North Carolina States Attorney Consumer Divisin assistance; all with no avail. It was a continual passing of the issue onto another bureaucratic office.

Physically this has been a mental, emotional, and physical hardship and hinderance and health damaging creating and causing circumstances and my body is taking more beating than the vehicles due to the financial strain on our budget and my need of some specific health care needs.

I had to get tires early due to my prior mechanic not rotating my tires as needed. Upon getting the tires I was told with the tires the rotating service was included, so as long as I brought them back there I wouldn't have the issue again.

Roughly every 6,000 miles I go and get my oil changed and the car looked at and I ask for the tires to be rotated etc... In the past I have actually been told it would cost me money to have the tires rotated and I had to have them look at my account to see that I had bought the tires from their location and I also bought an extra tire protection plan too.

Today on a route oil change and top off/look everything over I get a call I needed new tires You have wear from the tires not being rotated. I told Mike Soares, I come in every 6,000 miles and one of the things I ask for is the tires to be rotated, as it's recommeded every 6K miles. It's because they haven't been doing it as I've asked that now he wants $350 for new tires. I told him I bring my car in every 6,000 miles to be serviced and tires rotated and if I need new tires for not being rotated that is due to them, not giving me the service the tires come with and I have asked when I go in. The car is a Prius the wear isn't because I'm tearing up the streets.

Mike the Store Manager could careless, I e-mailed GoodYear and they say it's an issue for Scher Tire, I asked why is their name assocaited if they don't back it in any way, outside of Good Year wanting more money. After this happened of course I check this location with the BBB and they have a FF rating. I would've thought GoodYear would boot them as I sure wouldn't want them representing me to the client. The tires were bought 9/29/2008 for $475 and have close to 20,000 miles.

Due to the shop not doing what I've requested and paid for by buying these tires there (with the free rotations) I spent the intiial $475.70 and now they want $350 plus for new tires.

They replaced the water pump, the thermostat and gasket, both upper and lower intake gaskets and did a cooling system flush. She drove away from Goodyear and her check engine light came on and she heard some noise. She called Goodyear but it was closed, so she faxed them the problem. They told her to bring the car in and they'd fix it. The proceeded to tell her she had a transmission problem and it would cost $792.12. The estimate stated the mounts were broken and that's why she hears the sound and it doesn't drive as it should.

I called them and spoke with another Steve and he said they didn't do any work in that area and it was just a coincidence. I told him no, it wasn't a coincidence when she literally drove away from their place and now she has a transmission mount problem. I sent them a fax requesting they honor their company values and provide the customer service they should and fix what they broke without labor charges to me. Whatever they did has to be fixed and it will cost me more money than I have to fix it.

This is the second time Goodyear has done this to me. I was not in Georgia to have my daughter take the vehicle somewhere else. I'm sure they've done this to many customers, and I have a witness that will testify the car was running fine (except for the overheating) before it was taken to Goodyear. On Friday July 11th, 2008, I took my car to Goodyear for a possible wheel alignment and oil change as it was only 4 blocks from my job. I figure it will be done by noon and I can pick up my car. The dealership that does the normal car service is over 30 minutes away across town. I dropped my car off at 8:30AM with Goodyear. One half hour later a Richard calls me to inform me they pulled a nail from my driver left rear tire and fixed and it cost $19.99. They also found that my fuel, brake, and transmission fluids were all dirty and that my car system needs to be flushed. Note: they have yet to know my distrust in these finding as I had a system flush less than 3 months prior and my fuel system had a complete flush on my last oil change with the dealership.

I had to interrupt Richard and inform him I already had a system flush, his reply is he only is reporting what the mechanic informed him. I find it hard to believe I had a nail in the tire as the cars tires were recently aired as a courtesy by a mechanic at Tire Kingdom. What more upsets me is that they did a repair without my consent. I believe this was done to pad the bill. I finally ask about the alignment and they said they will call me back. Noon has come and gone and my car still was not ready, but a Richard calls me back informing me my Rotors are warped and I have a camber/caster issue, he quotes the price of new Rotors, I decline and inform him I will take my car to the dealership for repairs as I have a service contract with them. 2PM had come and gone and my car was still not ready. By 3PM I had my room mate go pick up my car.

The cost came to nearly $130.00. I drive the car back to Goodyear still pulling to the right as I drive. I asked to speak with the Manager. He advises they did the oil change and charged me for the tire repair, in addition to this they charge for the alignment. I'm confused, how can you do an alignment properly and charge someone for it if you really cant do an alignment with the car having a camber and caster issue. He states they did the best they could. Wrong answer! He proceeds to take $20 off the bill because they overcharged for the alignment; this is still to no satisfaction because the car was not aligned.

I took my car to the dealership the next day and they found that the camber and caster joints were gone and need to replace them as well as replacing the rotors. The dealership once again did an alignment on my car. No problem, the car is under a service agreement. My problem is with Goodyear. I want my money back on an alignment they could not do but charged me for.

Goodyear wasted my time and had my car all day. They only thing they could have done are the oil change, and that was not enough for them. They padded the bill with a tire repair and a false alignment.

The car has 94,900.miles origial miles. They gave me the car in September of 2007. They called me an hour later and said the car was done. I started it and it was making a tap tap noise. I live a block away from Goodyear, when I got home I asked my dad to listen to the noise. He said maybe it needs time to lubricate the motor. I prceeded to work down Los Alamitos Blvd about 2 miles from my house and found a Napa Auto Parts, I pulled in and asked the sales representative if he could come out and listen my car. He listened and said maybe it needs this lubricant Lucas oil treatment ,it helps lubricate rods, valves and bearing.

I proceeded to my job at Charo Chicken which is 2 miles more up the same street. I made a delivery and the noise got real loud, so I parked the car. By this time Goodyear was closed. I called my Grandmother Rebecca, she said leave the car there and we'll have it towed Thursday morning. At 9:00 a.m. we called Goodyear and spoke to a Tommy Campos. He said bring it in. It arrived and he said he had no mechanic that could look at it . They only change oil, tune-ups and tires. But he listen to it and one of his tune-up guys came out and said sounds like a blown engine. Well, the next wait was talking to the ownners Fred or Richard. They were out of town.

We continued to called. I had told Tommy that it seems to me his inexperienced oil changer forgot to put oil in the car and started it. Then realized oops I forgot the oil. Tommy Campos said "I not going to lie to you, but that has happened before." Finally Brett called back and said they were going to refer it to the insurance company. Blu water representative Bruce E. called me and told me that someone from Allied Insurance would call. A young lady name Yer called and said that an adjuster would be calling to look at the car. The adjuster name Keon came over to take pictures of my engine? Later, Yer said the only way to determine that there at fault is they need a diagnostics test. I told her our certified mechanic said if he does a diagnostic test he would need to run engine at a high RPM idle. Then the rod would blow through and cause more damaged.

Yer, has made a decision and declined our claim. We are tired of the run around so we went out and purchase an engine , we video taped the sound, miles and still have the oil in the engine with metal fragments. This company Goodyear in Cypress said that there oil, tune-up and tire guys do not need to be certified (ASE) at there company per Jesse, Brett and Tommy. I took my car to Goodyear on a Saturday morning. I had problems with the car hestitating and was afraid it would break down on my way to work( in another city). I asked them if they could repair it that day so that I would not miss work on Monday. They said they would check it out and let me know. I got a call later on that day from them stating that my car was fixed and I could come get it, but they were closing so they would leave my keys and receipt under the mat. Went to get it and keys were not in it nor was the receipt. Got spare keys and started it. The car was like no one even looked at it. Same hesitation. They were closed on Sunday, so I had to miss work on Monday to take it back to them.

They finally found the problem... a bad spark plug and a bad wire. I was not charged for the spark plug or the wire, but I was charged for all the work that was not necessary. $173.00. I was upset when I dropped it off and when I came back to pick it up they had three guys towering over and the mechanic glaring through the window. No apologies were made. I will never go there again. Lost wages. Charges that were not necessary

I have a P.T Crusier with 18,800 miles. The front left tire lost pressure a couple of times so I put air back in. My wife was driving the car and said she was hearing a flapping noise and the steering wheel was shaking. I look at the tires and did not see anything wrong. The next morning the left front tire was flat. I thought there was a nail in it so I removed it and noticed there were cracks in the tire wall next to the car side. I checked the other tires and two more of them had the same cracks. I went to the Goodyear dealer and showed him the tire I removed and they checked the other tires. After 45 minutes the manager had worked up a price of replacing the tires. He stated that the tire that was flat he would not give any adjustment because it was worn on the outer edges and the threads had separated. I tried to give him my view that the split in the side wall was the reason the tire kept deflating and led to the outer wear. The other tires did not have the outer wear but had the inside wall slits. He gave me a price of 230.00 and no adjustment for the flat tire and minimal adjustment for the two others. He said nothing was wrong with the fourth tire. It came to a total of 707.00 for the three tires not counting tax. The price surprised me so much I blurted out ****. He then said he didn't cuss at me and I would not cuss at him. I tried to explain that the comment was not direct toward him it was just I was so surprised that was the first thing that came out. I apologized twice but I was still trying to understand why I was not getting a better adjustment on tires with just 18,800 miles. With no explaination he then told the mechanic to let the car down and back it out. He then said he didn't even have the tires and would have to order them. I told him I would get back with him. I went to sears and they had the tire on sale for 165.00 but would have to order them. I really did not want the Goodyear tire so I bought four replacements at a cost of 570.00. I went back to the Goodyear dealer and told him I would not be buying the tires from him and again I stated that my comments were not direct to him and he started to get agitated and shaking his finger at me.I told him that he needs to have customer relation training to deal with frustrated customers rather that telling their employees to back his car out. Other wise get out. I feel that I was due a fair adjustment on the tires but was giving the attitude of take it or leave it. I have read several memos on the web site of people reporting the same defect but also was given the run around. I did ask the store manager what would cause the splitting and he said I don't Know and I have not heard of this problem before. You would think he could give me some reason why the tires would split, even if it was somting I should correct. These are dangerous tires that Goodyear seems to be covering up and will not acknoledge that there is a problem that could lead to a serious accident. The tires are Goodyear Eagle RSA 205/50R17. They are the original tires that came on the car.

When I left, I noticed that my car was running worse than it was when I took it to RyNck. I took it to another mechanic and they told me that the person that fixed my car failed to 'cap' my spark plugs which made my car run rough. I wound up paying someone else, 'I have proof', to fix what they messed up.

I don't feel that it is fair for them to treat me like I don't know what's going on because I am a woman. The manager gave me a song and dance about my situation, and was annoyed because I took my car elsewhere to fix what they messed up. Where is the fairness in this? I have since paid my bill in full and will never do business with Goodyear ever. Mechanics are known for taking advantage of women, because they know we don't know a lot about cars.

I got a second opinion about how they half-** fixed my car and billed me over $200.On top of having to pay someone else to fix my car. When it should have been done right the first time. They never ever returned my platinum spark plugs. I have proof of everything. I paid twice for something that should have done right the first time. I have lost all faith in Goodyear as far as me taking any of my cars to them. Ever. I feel that they took total advantage of me and my car. Subject: Goodyear Integrity tires with sidewall bubble near tread. I purchased a Toyota Prius in August of 2007 and to date, we have driven it just under 12,000 miles. The car was equipped with Goodyear Integrity (P185 65 R15). Last week I noticed a bubble (about the size of half a walnut) on the sidewall near the tread on the left front tire. I took the car to a local Goodyear dealer. They removed the tire from the wheel and pointed out a small dent on the inner wall of the tire, and informed me that this problem was an impact wound. Only I and my wife drive this car and neither of us can recall ever hitting any potholes or curbing.

As follow-up and to be sure that damage would not be caused to the replacement tire or the other front tire, I took the car to my Toyota Dealer and they performed an alignment check. The front end was completely in alignment. From this, I conclude that this particular tire was overly susceptible to impact wounding. Surely, if our car hit something hard enough to cause an impact wound to the tire, it would have caused the front end to be at least somewhat out of alignment. I have requested that Goodyear reimburse me for the pro-rated value of the replaced tire (11,700 miles) and the $79.95 cost of the unnecessary front-end alignment.

I have never before hard of 4 tires failing on the sidewalls, but it happened to me. The tires were not old when I bought them, they were made in 2004 and were only 2 mo. old when I bought them. Why should something like this happen? Unfortunately I never contacted the company, I just thought they were 2 years old so I had no recourse, but it seems unfair to me.

A blowout of one on the front with my son driving. If I ahd been driving I would have been killed, the other 3 failed one by one and my son watched them arefully, and replaced them with 2 used tires, then 2 more used tires, and this year I replaced them with dunlops, after I had enough money to do so.

I have a 1998 Mazda Protege fit with 4 Goodyear Integrity tires since 2005. I may have about 30,000 miles on them. There are still enough tread on all 4 of them and I passed the MA state safety inspection at the beginning of 2008. From day one I found the tires are extremely slippery in dry but especially in wet condition, a bit more on throttle or brake and I will hear a lot of tire screeching. But as long as I drive it very gentle and don't have any accident I don't pay much attention to it. But thing did happen. Yesterday 5/31/2008 I was driving at 30 mph in wet and slided all the way into the car in front which was at least 10 car length away, without being able to stop the car at all. Luckily no one was hurt. This was initiated by a car at very front took a quick stop for a left turn, all other cars behind could stop without problem except my car. It brings to my concern as I read through many online reviews and most have similar complaint against the Goodyear Integrity tires, one had even the exact same accident as mine. This leads me to believe the poor tire performance could be one of the major reason to my accident, as I have a clean record over my 7 years' driving and I consider myself a safe and defensive driver. I wonder if there is somewhere that I can have an official tire performance test. If it is proved the tire performance is below some legal standard I may file a claim/complaint to Goodyear. But I am not sure how this can be done exactly so I need a helping hand here. The accident is already filed by the local Tewksbury MA police. There should be many people are riding on these tires so it is good if we could raise concern about the safety and quality on these tires. Any advice on this is very welcomed! Thank you.

I took my 2005 Chevy Aveo in for an oil change on April 18, 2008. The car was driving just fine prior to my taking it in for service. Upon my departure I got approximately a mile and half away then suddenly my car shut off. I didn't have my cell phone with me that day of all days so I proceeded to walk (in my work clothes and heels) back to Goodyear. When they saw me coming and sweating they were very sympathic and agreed to tow my car back to their shop, however they said it wouldn't be until later that day. I had to call a friend to come and pick me up and take me home. Goodyear later called me and informed me that it was their fault and they would repair my car. They said they had to order a part but it wouln't be in until the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I inquired if they could cover the cost of a rental car but they said they couldn't. I informed them that I still needed to get to work everyday. Ultimately my mother rented a car on Saturday (April 19th) for my use until my car was repaired. She originally only rented the car until Wednesday April 23rd since Goodyear had told me that it would be ready on Wednesday at the latest. My car ended up not being ready until late Friday (just before 5pm) so we ended up with a rental car bill of $243.50 because my mother works 40+ miles from home and she couldn't get to the rental location before they closed on Friday and she didn't return the rental until Monday April 28th. On Saturday I noticed that my engine light came on and the car was driving a bit rough whereas it wasn't before all of this happened. My boyfriend drove it as well as my father and they all agreed that it didn't drive the same as before. On Monday I called Goodyear and they told me that my car needed a tune up but I decided not to take it back to them to have a tune-up. I drove it back and forth to work that week and took it to Midas a week later (May 8, 2008) and had a tune-up done which cost me $455.36. They (Midas) asked me if I needed an oil change and I informed them that I did not since I'd just had one done by Goodyear. The engine light was off but came back on again the next day and they car drove better but still not the same as before the initial oil change. My dad got fed up and he and a friend who works on cars checked the oil and found out to their astonishment that there was NO OIL in the car. Goodyear drained the oil out in order to replace the new part and they had forgotten to replace the oil. I'd now driven over a week with no oil in my car. They were called immediately and informed of this matter and I told them that I wasn't putting any oil in it and that they needed to come to my house to tow it to their shop. They picked up my car the next day and I had to get a ride to work from a neighbor for 2 days while they had my car. They replaced the oil at no cost to me sent me on my way. The car is driveable but that engine light keeps coming on and the car is just not driving the same as before. I fear that their was some damage done to my engine.

Around 3 pm, I had not heard from them so I called and spoke with Pam and she also stated my car would be ready that same day as they were working on it. I also asked her to have them check the previous work done on the right ball joint as I was hearing noise from that area. Around 4:30 pm, Jim called me and said one of their mechanics was sent home as he was having heart palpitations so my vehicle would not be ready until tomorrow. I informed him that I had to go to work the next day so I needed my car by no later than 12 noon. He told me that it would be ready by then. The next day I called around 10 am and spoke with Jim again. He told me they were working on my vehicle and it should be ready by 12 noon. I again told him I had to go to work so I needed my vehicle by then. Around 11:30 am Jim called me and said they wouldn't have my vehicle ready by then. I told him I needed my vehicle as it is the only one I have and I had to go to work. I informed him that I was told when I dropped it off that it would be ready by yesterday. He said they would try to have it done by 12 noon. At 11:50 am, Jim called me and said it would be ready by 12:15 pm. When I picked my vehicle up, I paid by check. I spoke with Pam and asked her if they'd checked the right ball joint. She stated Jim drove the vehicle and heard some noise but he thought it was the left ball joint making the noise.

Jim brought my vehicle to the door as it was pouring rain. I didn't have an umbrella so he jumped out and I immediately jumped in. I drove my vehicle home and noticed that it pulled. According to what I was told and what is written on my contract, with the replacement of the ball joint, an alignment was supposed to be done. They had done an alignment about two months ago, in December, when they replaced the right, passenger side ball joint. With the left being replaced, they were supposed to recheck the alignment and if necessary, redo the alignment. Since my car was pulling, I immediately suspected a new alignment had not been done. But I had to go to work so I thought I'd get back with them later. After I got home, I got ready for work. When I got back into my vehicle, since it was not raining, for some reason I looked at my roof. There was a big hole in the interior lining and some padding was also missing. I went right back to Goodyear and spoke with Jim. On the way back, I noticed my car was making a knocking noise when I got up to a speed of about 40 mph. I told Jim about the noise and asked him why he failed to tell me that they had put a big hole in the interior of my roof. He went out and checked and then came back and told me they didn't do it. He stated it just fell out. I then blew up.

I told him my vehicle was not tore up before I left it with them. I told him it was not making that knocking noise before I left it and my roof did not have big hole in it. He then walked away. I then went to the stall door where Jim was talking with David and told them that I was not happy with the service I was given. I told them that they had messed up my vehicle even more than it was when I originally bought it in so I was stopping payment on my check. I then proceeded to go to work but the car was making such a loud knocking noise and I would have had to drive on 95. So I decided not to take a chance on driving to work. I called off. I then took the vehicle to by my mom's and let her drive it. She, also, could hear the loud knocking noise when it got over 40 mph and she could feel the pulling. The next day I had my sister follow me to Martino Tire Goodyear and had them check my vehicle. They stated the knocking noise was coming from a bolt that was freshly broken. I asked where the bolt was located in relation to the ball joint and they stated it was right by the ball joint. They stated it was more than likely broken when the ball joint was replaced. I had to have them repair the broken bolt and they had to do an alignment because it wasn't aligned. I did stop payment on Arlington Tire's check like I told them I was going to do.

Economic damage: I lost a half day of work because I didn't feel the vehicle was safe to drive on the expressway.

Last year, after driving my wife and son to their destination, I noticed a big bulge in the sidewall ofone of the front tires, as well as cracks in the sidewall. A day later, I saw that the OTHER front tire had the same problem! I would have to buy TWO almost four hundred dollar tires on a two-year-old car!

I wound up going with a cheaper brand tire with equal or better treadwear, and performance ratings.

This past Easter Sunday, on the way to visit my wife and newborn child, I suffered a flat on one of the REAR Goodyears (Eagle RS/A), and when I inspected it, I fount two big blowouts on the INNER sidewall!

What are the chances of having three tires fail in almost the same way on a car with less than 48,000 miles on it?

I sent an e-mail to Goodyear, and they sent me to have the tires inspected at one of their local stores.

When I saw them looking at the wheels on the FRONT of my car (which are NOT their tires) I knew my case was lost.

They said that since the blown out tire had two nails in it - only ONE went through - it was a road hazard failure and not covered by them.

I just got off the phone with them, and was quickly told that they are not responsible.

I have been driving and riding in cars my whole life, and have never seen three $350-plus tires fail on a new car in less than three years!
I am disgusted. The only thing I can think to do is write about it on my blog. And NEVER buy another Goodyear tire.

I got no satisfactory resolution, and will be out another $200 on a tire, which will bring my tire total to almost $600! These faulty tires could have cost the lives of my wife and kids.

I suffered a blow of a tire that is not even 1 year old, the tread is good, yet I know that two more tires were rotated inward to hide the defect in the tires' sidewalls. I almost lost my life as well as those of two other children in the vehicle. I do not want money, but I expect a replacement tire or a $100 rebate from the manufacturers who deem safety as a joke and money in their pockets because the consumer is stupid or they think they've gotten one over for now. This seems to be a manufacturer who uses inferior products to produce public safty hazards at ridiculous prices.

I will not stop here; every buyer of this product as well as the safety commission will know, and I ask an inquiry be done. Too many times we over look the complaint that can prevent future hazards. Goodyear should stop doing cheap short cuts in quality manufaturing and rate the product accordingly. This would balance out the lost lives, lawsuits and put the cost of defective tires back at the originating source: the manufacturer. Bad product= no sales=no money =out of business: something to think about. This is not just on the internet but also letters will go to the appropriate authorities.

The possibility of lost lives, the sale of 4 defective tires, and that they did not think about the consumer. Money wasted twice--and a company not facing responsibility for their defective production and consumer safety.

GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA TIRE: My front tire developed a crack on the side wall. One person there was noncommital. Another (very young) technician at the Goodyear dealer took a look at this and said the car hit a pot hole. The road side serviceman had no hesitation in calling this a defective tire. Myself, a mechanical engineer and owner of many cars plus once a fleet owner am calling this foul. My problem is the willingness of the technician to try to dismiss this as accident, when this a defective tire (in use on a high end car) and could have been the cause of a bad accident. He is taking the line of blame the customer in spite of the serious safety issues associated with this issue.

Lucky for us we caught this damage before failure occurred.

Goodyear will not honor their warranty. I only used 1/32 of tread on the tire, about 3000 miles. Result I had to buy another tire to replace their bad tire.

I operate a fleet of vehicles in my Florida Keys limousine business. My fleet includes two 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8s which came equipped from the factory with Goodyear Eagle RSA tires size 24545ZR20 and / or 25545ZR20. During 2007 we have experienced NINE separate tire failures (two catastophic failures) due to tread separation on these tires.

These Goodyear Eagle RSA tires are TOTAL JUNK and are obviously a serious safety hazard. They should be recalled but ironically I now see that several major tire stores have started running the Goodyear RSA tires ON SALE for about half their original list price (sale price of $130 per tire). That is criminal. I recently started replacing the Goodyear Eagle RSA tires with the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. Now I'm starting to see the identical tread separation problem with those tires too!

I started working with the Goodyear Assistance Center back in June 2007 and invested several hours of my time and submitted 9 pages of documentation to them. After not hearing back from them I followed up only to be told that because I have more than one vehicle, they could not assist me.

They provided a name and phone number of another Goodyear representative who they claimed I would have to deal with (and start all over). The phone number provided is never answered and has no voice mail or answering machine. Do you think Goodyear really wants to provide any assistance??

To make matters worse the Chrysler SRT8s do not come equipped with a spare tire. On the two occasions when the Goodyear Eagle RSA tires failed catastrophically, we had to have the cars towed back to our base! Our local Goodyear Service Center was LESS THAN HELPFUL quickly coming up with the opinion that we must have run the tires under-inflated (they claimed we should have been running these tires at 50 PSI even though the Chrysler tire specifications sticker attached to the vehicle clearly shows the recommended tire pressure to be 32 PSI. The wheels are equipped with tire pressure sensor that light up an impossible to ignore warning on the dash if ANY tire is underinflated. These tires were NEVER run under-inflated.

A few miles after, requested that all tires be rotated. The new tire got moved to the front passenger side and the old , to the back passenger side.

First, I took in a Jeep Grand Cherokee at 40,000 miles last week to Goodyear because I had a flat tire. They told me that 2 tires were shot and 2 were 'not far behind.' I told them I would like to replace the two tires that actually needed to be replaced. They then told me about this 'great deal' they had, but only on four tires. If I bought only 2 tires, I was going to pay a ridiculous price, which he showed me on his calculator. Four tires would not be much more. I was in a hurry and said, fine. Replace all four with the same thing. Second, within a week my wife got a flat on her Honda, also with Goodyear tires. The tire still had lots of tread as it had less than 20,000 miles on it. She took it to the same place for a simple repair and was told it was not repairable due to damage to the sidewall and of course she would need to buy a new tire. I called them because it was a small screw hole toward the center of the tire. I was told Goodyear does not allow them to plug tires at that shop. Because, I am a sucker and always in a hurry, I told them to throw on the new tire, but to send the old tire with my wife. Sure enough, when she got home I looked at the tire and there was a tiny screw toward the middle of the tire, absolutely no threat to the side walls. I'm having it patched and saving it.

Herewith, I would like to draw your attention to some very unfortunate problems that I experienced with Goodyear Eagle tires (245-45-18), mounted OEM on my 2004 Nissan Maxima SE. The problem is the following: All 4 tires on my Nissan have developed serious cracks, both on the inside and on the outside of the sidewalls. The tire problems started on or about 15,000 miles, and manifested themselves by incresase noise (thumping). The overall tread wear has been very modest on these tires and, more importantly, evenly distributed. In other words there is no excessive tread wear, neither is there wear on the shoulders due to speedy cornering or faulty wheel alignments. As a matter of fact, the vehicle has always been serviced at an authorized Nissan dealership and the tires have been regularly rotated as per instructions contained in the Nissan Owner's Manual.

There is clear evidence that tread failure is a work in process on these tires. As you know, tread failure starts off as small cracks. It is widely acknowledged that such cracks are a result of manufacturing and/or design defects that relate to the inner separation of one or more of the various layers that make up the tire. These small cracks are initially virtually invisible to the naked eye. In a later stage these minuscule cracks give way to larger cracks. This phenomenon is widely known as a premature tire fatigue. It is common knowledge that the fatigue life of a tire is to exceed tread life - and thus the length of time that it takes to wear down the tire tread through normal use - by a substantial design/safety margin.

Manufacturing and design defects cause shorter fatigue life and, as we all are aware, this can lead to catastrophic accidents, injuries or deaths, long before the tire's tread is worn out, and thus long before the tire's useful life is over. I have contacted Goodyear's "Customers Services/Relations Department" and have to the best of my knowledge described the problems that I experience with the 245-45-18 Goodyear tires.

As instructed by the person that I spoke to at first, I brought my car to an outlet that sells Goodyear tires. Here, the tires were evaluated on September 12, 2006 by a technician who wrote in his official report:

"2004 Nissan Maxima: Customer states all 4 tires have splits in sidewalls. Check and advise: We found cracks in sidewall of all 4 tires inconsistent with dry rot due to mileage and age of tires. Customer was offered 25% courtesy discount on new tires. Customer has declined at this time. Offer stands for 30 days. Note: Tread depth for all tires is 4/32 of an inch."

On September 15, 2006 I was called by some of Goodyear's staff that informed me that Goodyear was willing to raise the “Courtesy Discount to 33%. I informed said staff that the issue is not tread wear but rather a design/manufacturing defect. The last spokesperson for Goodyear called me on September 20, 2006, apparently as a result of my enquiry under "Investment Relations." She informed me that the tread should not be measured at the embedded tread life bar, and that tread on new tires is 10/32 of an inch. She confirmed that Goodyear could offer a 33% "Courtesy Discount" on the purchase of new Goodyear tires. I made it clear to her that the issue with the tires is a safety issue and not one of tread wear. Hence, so is my opinion, compensation by Goodyear should not make reference to the use that I made of the tires.

I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler. In 1999 and at 68,000 miles, I decided that I needed new tires. I went to Levine Tires and because of a bad and similar experience 10 yrs before, I was hesitant. I told them that I had problems 10 years ago with their inability to balance tires and after 3-4 return trips back then, they admitted that they had an old machine and now had a new one. So, I now bought 4 new tires and I increased the size and nothing was said to me about a problem until I drove the Jeep and couldn't make sharp turns. They acknowledged and replaced with the same size as before.

Almost a year went by with no problems until I took my Jeep in to have the tires rotated as required by our service contract. They would rotate and balance. When I drove the Jeep on the expressway at 55 to 65 miles an hour, the wheels would shake. I repeated this process of returning to Goodyear and balancing approx. 4 times. Every time, we would plead to please have someone drive the Jeep with us so they could experience what we were talking about; they claimed they were too busy (but with my wife working and me working midnights, I apparently had more time to waste).

Finally, one of their mechanics went on a road test and quickly acknowledged there was a problem and the only way to fix it was to order new rear tires (apparently they could not be balanced). When they were installed and balanced, we definitely noticed the improvement with the rear but now the front end vibrated. We returned the jeep for balancing at least another 3-4 times and again pleading to please send the same mechanic or someone else on a road test. They again refused claiming they didn't have time. My wife finally went in and demanded that the problem be fixed asap. This is the vehicle she drives.

So we were able to schedule a date for a road test and again he quickly acknowledged there was a problem with the tires and ordered front tires. After not hearing from Goodyear in over 2 weeks, we decided to call only to find out the tires were in but they were again too busy to call. We had the tires installed on Friday, 8/25/00. Because we needed the vehicle, I called and was told tires were on and balanced but no one had time to test drive it but we could pick it up now and test drive it ourselves. Because of our schedules, I had to have my daughter pick up the Jeep and I would return later to discuss or sign what was necessary.

To my surprise, they involved my daughter by not releasing the Jeep until she signed a release of liability for any further problems due to, they claim, dented rims. I was furious because they took advantage of a situation by having my daughter sign something that didn't involve her. I was also upset because the dented rims were never an issue until I had to repeatedly take the Jeep in for multiple balancing at least 7 times. This is my wife's Jeep and you can tell by the excellent condition of the Jeep, she doesn't "off-road" or never has been in a situation that would have dented the wheels.

We believe that Levine Goodyear is responsible for denting the wheels and I know every time I picked up the Jeep, there were new scratches and marks on the outer rims from different and new weights added. They even admitted once that the weights should have been hidden inside instead of the outside (like the dealership sold it). Levine Tire has been the only people that touched the wheels since we purchased it in 1997. We have never received an apology and now, they won't take responsibility for their product or service.

According to the release they had my daughter sign, they are releasing themselves from the warranty contract. I believe, in other words, the tires we purchased last year for over $600 and had a warranty on for defects are no longer valid because Levine Goodyear said so. One thing I never mentioned to them, was one evening when my wife had to pick up the Jeep after hours, it wouldn't start; the battery was dead. She noticed the dome light switch had been turned on. She had to call for a jump to the battery.
