I purchased 4 new Goodyear tires of which were eligible for rebate. I sent rebate form along with my purchase receipt on 4/1/21. As of 6/17/21 I had not received rebate so I contacted Goodyear by phone inquiring about my rebate. The person I spoke to said they had not received my rebate form but I could resubmit it and they would honor it even though it was past expiration date. I sent a second form in on 6/17/21 but as of latter July still hadn't received rebate.
So I called Goodyear again and was told that they received my second request but offer had expired and the sales receipt didn't have the exact tire number on it. I asked them why they didn't notify me of needing more info and was told they didn't have time to do that. So if you are buying tires from Goodyear with the plan of getting a rebate, make sure you closely follow up on the processing of the rebate. They should have informed me the first time I called them if the sales receipt didn't have all the information they needed.

Bought these tires 17 months ago and have less than 20000 miles on them and have had more flat tires in that time than I have in 40 years. I didn’t even have them two months and started having problems with flats. They are the worst tires I’ve ever had!. Also I was suppose to have a rebate which was why I decided on these but it was denied after turning in all the proper paperwork.

I have the Assurance Tires for my Dodge Journey. I have had to take it to the tire shop to have it looked at many times, because it keeps going flat. They can find nothing wrong with the tire, but it loses pressure. I had one tire that started bulging. I would not recommend Goodyear Assurance Tires.

Goodyear offered a $75 rebate for purchasing the Assurance Maxlife. Valid from July 1-Sept 30. I purchased these tires on September 22nd and submitted my rebate shortly after. It's November 4th today and I still don't have my rebate. I've called their rebate center multiple times, waiting 20 minutes each time with nobody picking up. They don't have an email or any other form of contact. I'm just going to assume that I was duped by false advertising. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend purchasing Goodyear tires if you want the rebate.

Talked my girlfriend into buying new Goodyear Assurance 235-55-18 for her Toyota RAV4 back in March 2018. It’s now September 2020 only 38,000 miles later and desperately need new tires already. Regularly rotated and all 4 tire evenly worn below Lincoln penny. Very pissed! As she is mad because I recommended them! Wish I could upload pix.

Get it together people. If you say you are reviewing it then let me know and follow through on your end. You ask us to so do it.
Updated on 09/21/2020: Well now you people tell me to call so I did. Now I'm being told that I need a claim number and the lady was very rude. So I bought 4 brand new Good year Eagle GT 285 50 r 20 and the ad said up too $100 rebate. Well once I purchased them that ad went away. So then I wasted my time looking for a rebate and there was one with $50 mail in rebate but now it's no good because I didn't use a goodyear charge card so please let's move forward with this. Thank You. Larry
Original review: Good I hope people read this. Let's start with what they advertise compared to after you purchase. While shopping they advertised $50 mail in rebate. Ok not much but I was cool with it. So I purchase 4 Eagle GT 'll P285 50r20's and now there is nowhere to find the rebate oh from 2017 or they needed to be bought by a Good Year card and other LOOPHOLES. I just think a Big Corp. Like Goodyear Tires should back their smack up. So I'm a Truck Driver so word goes fast. It's the point of this matter so I will never BUY and or refer anyone to fall for their fake, false advertising little gig for $50. Wow Goodyear that's very tacky, rude, degrading and very sad. I'm sorry you think you care about the public you showed me. Anyway back up your offer. I backed my purchase.

I have A truck. A van & A sedan. Purchased 4 Goodyear Wrangler 235_75r15 for my truck. Then 6 month later got 4 more tires for my sedan. From Goodyear Purcell in Peoria Arizona. Though the manager knew me & my business. Found out that I paid over 10% to goodyear than I would have paid Discount Tires or Big O. At 700 miles driving my truck over 1 year I noticed cracks around the rim side. I took it back and he told me it is normal...I am 58 years old...
Called customer service & the lady was helpful. Sent me to company owned store. I walked in the store in Litchfield Park.... Service manager face in the computer & did not even acknowledge my presence... I told him that I am here to see the mgt. I got a claim for defect tires.. He pointed to the office & back into his computer. Manager checked the tires & said they are old & this cracks are normal & when I insisted to get replacement because these tires are not safe. I set an appointment after 4 days on Tuesday morning. Got there & I Felt that they are doing me a favor letting me in to the store.
He said that he do not have these tires & tried to get me a lot cheaper tires & want to charge me $ 200.00. I wanted the better tires so he said to come back at 2:30pm. Their shop is about 18 miles from my house. I left then on time I was back. Same treatment.. He came out after about 15 minutes me waiting and said bgg that the delivery will be 1/2 hour late. I waited & there was a customer with newer sporty Chrysler standing there for good 15 minutes & no one acknowledge him.. even the service manager walked past him without saying a word.
When the customer said, "I am here for an oil change.." he got turned down as he do not have an appointment... BUSINESS LOST. Then my tires came at 4.10 pm. 3 people rushed & got the tires on as there was no cars there. Then it took the service manager over one hour to finish my paperwork & pay... I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND GOODYEAR TIRES NOR THEIR SERVICE PROVIDERS TO MY WORST ENEMY.. I am in retail business & will be sure to tell as much as I can to my customer about this kind of service ..if they call it service...

I go to Goodyear Kannapolis NC. Back drivers side tire is low. I figure it’s a nail. It’s possibly a staple. I’m checking in the guy is looking at me with this stupid face as I’m telling him my issue. Almost condescending. They take my car back. The dude checks out the tire. Looks at all tires. He says, "Yeah you may need all 4. "You're on secondary rubber on fronts." Ok I mean sure. I get estimate. Now here’s the kicker. I drive an 2018 Hyundai Elantra value edition. Cheap car small tire equals cheap tire. 205 55 r16, He comes at me with almost $900 price tag. My jaw drops. I’m like, "Huh. I’m not driving a Land Rover." I’m like, "Come on. That’s not real." He’s like, "Well I can get you something cheaper. 'Clicks a few Buttons. $670. I’m like, "No. That’s still way too high." He is like, "I’m sorry then" and I’m like, "Jeez I am too."
I’m at Discount Tire now. Same tire mileage. Mounted. Balanced. 331.00. What in god's creation? How were we at $900 or even almost $700. I will never use good year again. Total scam artists. I advise anyone to look elsewhere. This is a commission based company. They jack up your prices so they make more money in commission. Discount tire was like, "Yeah the guy wasn’t telling you the truth about needing 4 new tires." I have to say I understand why people hate mechanics car dealers so on and so forth. Goodyear you have officially lost my business for life. Once you lose trust you can’t gain it back. Anyone I know will hear my story. I will post this experience online. Thank you.

10 days ago I bought a new 2020 F150 from Republic Ford in Springfield MO. When test driving it myself and the salesman noticed a feeling like a tire was out of balance. It was Saturday and service was closed so I took the vehicle anyway thinking it was just a flat spot from sitting on the lot and would work itself out on the drive home (150 miles). It didn't so took it to my locale dealer (Ultimate Ford ). They work with the truck for 2 hours then told me I had bad tires and Goodyear would only warranty 2. It has been over a week and have heard nothing from Goodyear. Heck of a deal pay over 50000 for a vehicle wind up with this problem. I don't blame either dealer but is surely on Goodyear.

Bought an Audi Q7 new from the dealer. The tires failed after ~35K miles of driving (tire made a loud noise and appeared to have delaminated). Was very surprised that the tires would need replacing so soon. Dealer told us that we should only expect tires to last 40K nowadays. Went to Belle Tire and figured I just needed to purchase replacement tires. They recommended the same tire from Goodyear and said it should last well over 50K miles if I bought new from them. Spent money on getting all four tires replaced.
Drove the tires for 11 months and started to notice severe pitting and cracking around the edge of the tread on both of the two front tires. Took it back to Belle Tire and they checked alignment etc and said it wasn't an issue with alignment (alignment was perfect). They then said I must have driven on lots of dirt roads (I hadn't). They then called Goodyear to see if it was a warranty replacement. Belle Tire then said I needed to replace the two tires and they quoted me ~50% of the original cost I paid for 4 tires. ie., basically no discount and the same as buying two new tires. They said it was the best they could do and it was Goodyear's problem not theirs. I let them know I wasn't happy and that they needed to stand by products they sold. I then ended up calling Goodyear directly and using the claim number provided by Belle Tire.
After spending 30 minutes on hold with Goodyear I was told that they would provide new tires for replacement cost minus the amount of "use" I had on the existing tires. They claimed I had used 30% of the tire in 11 months (this made no sense and they seemed to be putting the blame for their tires falling apart after 11 months back on me). After much discussion they agreed to provide 2 new tires to Belle Tire at ~25% of the cost (despite the fact that the tires clearly started to fail after 11 months I still had to pay 25%). I asked why I should invest more money to replace tires that clearly had a manufacturing or design defect and what changed that would mean they wouldn't fail again in another 11 months. They told me "they shouldn't but maybe the Audi Q7 is too heavy for these tires" (despite the fact that the original vehicle came with these tires and the fact that these were the tires recommended to me by Belle Tire).
I went back to Belle Tire who then told me they would charge me full price to put the tires back on and insisted it wasn't their problem and hence they couldn't do anything about it. When I reminded them they recommended this tire to me 11 months ago when I purchased it from them they then tried to blame me for the problem by saying I should bring the tires in to get rotated every 4 months. Instead of admitting that a tire shouldn't crumble after 11 months of use they just wanted to renounce all responsibility for the tire they sold me.
Ended up extremely disappointed with both Goodyear Tires and Belle Tire (and incredibly frustrated at the lack of service). Neither company was willing to stand by the product they sold me and instead wanted to blame me for failures of their product. I had to pay both of them money for the inconvenience of replacing a defective product (this isn't right). I shouldn't have to waste time contacting Goodyear if I buy a product from Belle Tire and it's defective. I shouldn't have to pay Belle Tire full price to replace a tire they sold me when it's clearly defective (they sold me the product).
There is clearly a basic problem with this tire on this vehicle. In retrospect I should have replaced the tire with something other than the one that came on the original vehicle (I just assumed that Audi would have chosen the right tire for this vehicle). In summary, if you have a Q7 don't buy this tire (also, be wary about buying tires from Belle Tire).

Audi Q7 owners beware. I replaced the original 255/55R19 run on flat tires with Goodyear Eagle All Season run on flat tires. I started hearing a concerning rotational noise at low speeds. After working with the Audi dealer to try and diagnose the problem and replacing brakes looking at the Quattro system, wheel bearings etc. we were at a loss. Then we looked at the tires. Although there was about 25% to 30% tread life left and the wear was completely even, the tread's flat surfaces on the axle-side of the tire on all four tires had hundreds of small flaps of rubber flaking off creating pits in the tire all the way around the tire. It looked as if the rubber was breaking down and sort of delaminating.
After some good detective work, it was determined that sound we were hearing was these disintegrating places on the tires in contact with the road. Trading out identical wheels with different tires eliminated the noise entirely. I had obtained my car new as part of the executive fleet of a large company. I retired and purchased the car. I consulted the fleet team that had previously maintained the car and they indicated that several other of the Q7s in the fleet had experienced the same flaking/breakdown. They confirmed the symptoms and It appears that this may be a significant design or manufacturing flaw in this tire. I just want to ensure that others who may be considering this tire consider this as they research what tire to buy. I would recommend avoiding this tire.

Went to Goodyear service for tires in December 2019 in West Hartford, CT. At first they were very helpful, searched a Goodyear credit card I had not yet received. They had the tires I wanted and said they could put them on that day. Then the up sell began. I agreed to a front end alignment and 3 yr tire protection. Upon reviewing the invoice I noticed they had charged me for a 3 yr alignment package. Since I did not live there but was visiting and had no Goodyear service stations where I live, I declined the package, even though they insisted it would be cheaper. I left the car and about an hour later I received a call stating that my brakes were in dangerous condition and would need front and rear pads, rotors and a brake line flush with an estimated cost of 1,200.00. I had experienced no issues with my brakes and declined.
The manager spent another 10 minutes trying to convince me that I might not make it home, we could just put it on the credit card and request a credit increase to pay for it. I asked him to please just put the tires on and call me when my car was ready. 2 hrs later with the shop closing shortly I got a ride over. They acted like they did not remember me and we're about to close but said my car had been ready. No phone call and very little customer service once I declined hundreds of dollars worth of unneeded repairs. Goodyear is one of two of the last remaining American tire makers. That's very important to some consumers and should be to all American consumers. My experience with Goodyear tires has been over the course of the last 35 years. I have owned many different brands during that time, but never had a better tire than Goodyear. From Wrangler all terrain truck tires to the Assurance weather ready tires. I just put on my daughter's Buick Regal, Goodyear have never let me down. I am a retired police officer and for 21 years experienced some different brands of tires on my police vehicles. Goodyear was hands down the best, safest, longest lasting tire I ever used during my years as a police officer.
Many of the tires that do not last a long time are made of softer rubber which in turn, usually provides better grip, but I actually got 70,000 miles out of some Goodyear Eagle LS tires that came standard on my 1999 Dodge Durango, which is pretty amazing. As a husband and father of three, I trust Goodyear with my entire family. They are on every vehicle I own and always will be. Michelin's cost more and they are French, BF Goodrich is usually less expensive and owned by Michelin. Bridgestone is, a lot of times more expensive, and they are Japanese. Toyo, Kumho, General, Continental, Uniroyal, Hankook, Pirelli, etc are all decent but foreign. Kelly Springfield is owned by Goodyear and they make a very affordable, great tire. Cooper is the only other American tire maker, but my .02 is that you cannot go wrong with a Goodyear tire. The best tire money can buy.

Mine is a 2016 CRV Touring bought in 2016. From then to last week, I had put on 89000 highway miles on it. And I needed to replace the 4 Dunlop tires that looked almost worn flat. I shopped around and considered several brands and finally was almost ready to pick on a set of Michelin Primacy MXM4 at the cost of $1,121.39 (installation and alignment included).
Then one day after the last Black Friday, I was shopping in the Walmart Store at Benner Pike, PA and I picked up a brief conversation at the auto center about possible options for my tire replacement with another shopper, who recommended Goodyear Aviva 3 all season tires to me. On the one hand, I liked the good price, which was $354 for Black Friday, $80 less than usual. On the other, I was worried about the quality of the tires. Then the idea 'why not give a try since it saves me so much' flashed across my mind. So I made the purchase right away and waited for almost two weeks before I got called and had the tires replaced last Friday. Immediately after that I drove to the Sears Auto Center nearby to have the alignment done at $68. Since then, I have been on the road for about 700 miles, 2 round trips from my home to Philadelphia.
I must say I am satisfied with the new Aviva 3 tires. For one thing, the riding with the new tires was smoother and a little bit quieter than that with the worm Dunlap tires. Most importantly, the last time I was riding with the old tires, I got 30 miles per gallon to Phila and 29 miles per gallon back home. The most recent time I was riding with the new tires, to my surprise, got me 33.2 miles per gallon to Phila and 32.2 miles per gallon back home. The weather for both occasions were almost the same, cloudy, around 40 F and a little bit windy. I really highly recommend Aviva 3 tires!!!

I am absolutely appalled at Goodyear as a seller and service shop. I ordered my tires online according to the size requirements Goodyear gave me after putting in my 2017 Kia Optima LX. I opted to have my tires put on by a Goodyear service shop. I sat there for 3 HOURS only to be told they were the wrong size. The size I ordered were BASED ON GOODYEAR'S WEBSITE. I had canceled an appointment I had elsewhere because of this extreme, excessive wait. Goodyear also claimed that I brought the vehicle in with a stripped screw. I have no way of knowing if they are responsible or if it was like that. The shop did not have a die tool to repair it and had to go to NAPA and buy one! (A tire shop doesn't have a die tool???)
I called the next day (Thursday 11/29) and spent 1 HOUR on the phone talking to Janelle and Elanor. I was told that I would now need to pay $50 MORE PER tire. They finally agreed to give me a 30% off coupon. The tires were to delivered to Mavis on Saturday (as I will absolutely never go to a Goodyear service location again). I once again revolved my entire day around Goodyear only to find out the tires never arrived! I called again (12/4), waited 20 minutes for someone to answer only to be immediately hung up on. I called back and waited another 15 minutes and the same rep answered, Janelle. I was given the tracking number only to see that the tires weren't shipped until Friday and weren't due to be delivered until Monday. A blatant and purposeful lie from Goodyear. As of now, my tires are still not delivered and still do not have an appointment for installation.
How can purchasing tires be such an awful and extremely painful process?! I will never purchase tires from Goodyear or go to another Goodyear shop. Completely awful, discombobulated process all the way around. I have spent over 4 1/2 hours dealing with this tire fiasco. I've lost appointments and time from work trying to get this resolved only to be blatantly lied to and ran in circles by this entire company. I never ever give reviews or contact businesses but this ordeal has been one of the worst experiences I've dealt with. Absolutely disgusting. I one time did take my 4x4 into the nearby hills. I took it to the local Goodyear shop that said it was normal wear. I have not taken the vehicle off road as the quick wear was troubling. Today a friend and I drove up a paved road to check out the local fires and the tire blew out the sidewall. Goodyear tires are not quality and the company does not stand behind their product.

Within 3 months, I had a blowout (low, grass-covered curb) and was told I needed a new tire for a staple causing a slow leak (non-patchable) - two new tires required as these don't have a warranty for road hazards. The SOFTEST, most fragile tires ever - junk. Going back to Pirelli.

Bought a set of 4 Goodyear tires for my MBZ E500. In Dec 2015. I drove 8000 miles on them. Living in Silicon Valley where roads are well maintained. Yesterday I had my first flat tire on this car, then I went to two different local Goodyear dealers since the original shop I bought from closed down. They all agreed I need a new set of tires. But they both insisted the 50K miles Warranty will not cover any. I said, "Why do I need new set of tires after 8k miles." They said tires are not safe. They gave me the runaround; for the flat, they said I must have drove on it while it’s low in air which I didn’t feel it nor my TPS sensor came on.
About the other tires was said I may have bad alignments or may hit the curb a lot or or or. All possibilities to get me out of warranty as if I was the worst driver living in the deserts (though I have 6 cars and clean driving record). I will call the factory customer service tomorrow and update my review based on their response. But so far the dealers are bad. No wonder why the two shops I went to in San Jose are big in space but empty of business.

We had a fabulous experience with Discount Tires when we purchased our Goodyear Tires for our Jeep. However, when there was an issue with our tires, Discount Tires was still exceptional, HOWEVER, Goodyear was awful. My husband had a blowout on a major highway at rush hour traffic. He was in the left lane, and had to move over past the HOV lane to the far left lane where the cement barrier is. The car hugged the barrier, causing the tire to come off the rim (as it is designed to do) and it took a while to come to a full stop. The car was towed (more time with the rim into the tire) to the DPS yard, then towed again to our home.
The damage to the car from this was about $8,000 dollars. Discount Tires opened an issue with Goodyear due to the fact that it was a blowout. However, Goodyear decided it was not a blow-out and that the hole in the tire was due to the wheel scraping the cement barrier. The communications was poor, and there is no recourse for this. We now have to handle it through an attorney. Sad that Goodyear does not stand by their tires. They could learn from Discount Tires Customer Service. This will be our last purchase with this company. I do not recommend them.

He was driving home from work this week when his rear passenger side tire exploded (5-10 good size puncture holes all throughout the tire). Thankfully no one was injured as his truck swerved off to the side of the highway. His truck had to be towed to our Dodge dealership where they advised him that Goodyear would need to evaluate for warranty. Goodyear comes to check out the tire and says that there must have been a slow leak which caused the tire to burst (even though the pressure sensor in the tire never indicated that the tire was losing air... So either the sensor or the tire was faulty to begin with).
Now my boyfriend needs to spend a few hundred dollars on a new tire when he just bought the truck two months ago... Absolutely ridiculous. I work for a company who prides itself on customer service and the fact that Goodyear will not even consider a warranty replacement for a tire that is less than two months old is complete nonsense. I purchase 4 new Goodyear tires for my 2013 Hyundai Sonata in September of 2016. I thought everything was fine until it turned cold in December. Since that time, the tires will not hold air. During the winter, every single day I had to put air in them. If I went to a dealership or oil change place to do it, I would get the "physics of air" explanation. Yeah, I know air shrinks in the cold, I also know that I went through the "Polar Vortex" a few years back, with a no-name brand of tire on my car, and it had the issue twice.
Today is the last straw. The temperature is 62 degrees. It dipped to 50 last night and this morning, bam, low tire pressure. And if you're thinking my pressure sensor is too sensitive, think again. Every time this light is on, my tires have 22 pounds of pressure instead of their normal 33. That isn't a minimal amount of lost air! This morning I took the car to Goodyear to say enough is enough. I get the same story about air and temperature.
So Goodyear, what you are telling everyone is unless we live in a place with constant air temperatures of 75 degrees, all day, all year, we can expect this problem?! Also, what does this say for long road trips when the tires are in constant use and are extremely hot. Can the tires not handle the expansion of air either?! I can't actually drive my car without the fear of something happening with these tires. The store couldn't take my service today and is having me go back tomorrow.
If this isn't magically fixed, and I seriously doubt it, I will be going to another store and replacing "new-ish" tires for a different set. If it is something they can fix, say the tires have dry rot and needs to be replaced, I'll come back and edit my review. But seriously, this shouldn't be a problem in the first place. I've had valve stem issues before with my Michelin tires, but that was the fault of the installer, not the tire itself. Never again Goodyear, never again. My past tires of Yokohama, Michelin, Big O brand, and whatever that no-name brand tire was I had on this car when I bought it, those are ALL better than this crap.

That is, according to the maker's warranty. After 24k miles, my tires still look great! Great traction, even on wet surfaces and they handle corners fine.

Went to Walmart back in May 2016 and bought 4 New Goodyear Viva 3 235/60/16 tires. After only having the tires on my truck for less than 6,000 miles, the sidewall blew out on the passenger side. Went in, had it replace. Since having these tires, we have replaced 9 tires as of today. And today, Walmart gave me the runaround about the tread being worn and that I had to pay full price for one ($81) and $54 for the other. Yes 2 tires (new - less than a month old) same issue - sidewalls getting holes.
The Walmart associate had the nerve to ask if I was running over a lot of curbs. Guess what? Nope because my boyfriend is usually driving the truck - rural road, no curbs, no rough roads. Made me mad for his insinuating that I either could not make a proper turn in this little Ford Explorer Sport Trac or because I was a woman driver. I, frankly, told him I drive a full size Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab and don't get any flats but I have Michelin tires. Not these crap things. Don't buy. Spend the extra on another better quality brand!

She was rushed to the hospital and treated for her injuries. The end result of the incident, aside from pieces of rubber embedded in her face, she was left permanently deaf in one ear and has overall major hearing loss. Goodyear refused to accept any responsibility, making excuses for the tire. Goodyear would not admit to any type of flaw. My views and opinions, my experience. I purchased 2 new Goodyear Assurance at the end of September and not even mid November I experience a crazy blow out of the driver side rear. I drive a 2010 Dodge Charger. The blow out lifted the rear of the car in the air so much that I thought someone hit us from behind and went up under the car. The car swirled back and forth but I was able to gain control. I did not come in contact with any materials in the road. The manager at Mr. Tire in Columbia had the nerve to say he could believe it where a blow out if I didn't have damage to the rim? There are nowhere marks to the side wall to show low tire pressure and no uneven were to lead you to believe there was bubble. The tire is ripped end to end and the damaged rim is outward away from the tire because it occurred after the tire blew. In my opinion they should look further into bettering this product.

We purchased a 2013 Silverado new. We seldom drive it so therefore it only has 28000 miles on it. The tires that were on the truck when purchased were Goodyear Wrangler AT/S P265/70 R17. These tires have been nothing but a headache and a money pit. We drove to Ky, which is about a 2 hour drive and noticed the tire had a bump in the middle of the tread and the tread was splitting. We made it to a tire shop where we were told that these tires were junk and that it could not be plugged and would have to purchase a new tire.
Well thinking that they just wanted the money for a new tire we put our spare on and drive back home to the dealership where we purchased the truck, we were told the same thing about the tires. We purchased another tire and have since had the same problem with the others. This is ridiculous. These tires need to be recalled and people should get their money back or new tires. The company should be held responsible for their product.

Purchased a brand new Kia Forte SX, came with Goodyear Eagle tires on it. At 55K both front tires developed bulges in the sidewall. Needed tires right away and the local Canadian tire had a really good deal on certain tires so I replaced the Eagles with Goodyear Allegra Fuel Max tires. At 18K kilometers the driver side tire blew out the entire sidewall leaving me on the side of the road, luckily that was the worst of it. Kept a close eye on the other tires from then on. They didn't make the Allegra anymore so replaced it with a Goodyear Assurance. Only 18K kilometers on it blew out and still cost me $25 for the replacement, plus balancing, plus tire disposal, plus taxes!
At 21K kilometers the other Allegra developed a large bulge in the side wall and one of the rear. Eagles also started to get a bulge in the sidewall!! 71K kilometers for that tire. Took car in and of course you have to replace a tire under warranty with the same tire so Goodyears on again but the price has changed on the assurance so not only was I charged $26.50 for the tire but an additional $9.99 charge for the pricing difference, even though they couldn't have replaced it with the same tire I purchased and again I had to pay balancing, tire disposal and tax. Car has 71K kilometers on it and have now had to purchase 5 new tires costing me more than $550, and I still have Goodyear tires on it which I have no trust in whatsoever. Yay. Don't buy Goodyear tires if you want tires that you can trust. On, December 26, 2015, during a horrific storm, my daughter was driving home with me right behind her, when all of a sudden, she stopped and put her flashers on. It seems that both tires on the driver's side had a blowout hole in both tires. After contact Goodyear and going to a Goodyear dealer, who stated since they were not purchased there, they could not do anything.
We immediately took them to Wal-Mart, who replaced them without issue, stating they did not feel it was Road Hazard but that is all their system allows to default to. From the start, Goodyear stated Road Hazard without seeing the tires and purportedly they received the tires back and are not claiming Road Hazard on both tires. Amazing how these 2 tires blew out and I following her same road with Goodyear tires, did not suffer a blowout on my tires. I took it back to dealer and they re-balanced but I was told they had to put 300 lbs of pressure back into the tires because the tire itself was rotating on the rim.
I still have vibration and the squalling of the front tires when making left and right hands turns is incredible. When they installed the tires new, I noticed that along the radius edges on the outside of tires that there is rubber flaps and I have the pictures to prove my point. On wet pavement, I can't keep the back end from spinning out and sliding sideways as well. When I stop on dry leaves such as my driveway and put very little pressure on the gas pedal, the rear tires spin out. These tires are dangerous in my opinion and now I have to spend the money for new tires that shouldn't have to be.
These tires in my opinion are defective and were from the beginning but we all know when dealing with dealer who installed them, they are never going to have the interest of the consumer at heart and the possible detriment of something terrible happening with the tires which certainly at some point could cause a great mishap. I have used this dealer for many years for all my vehicles and my children's as well and nothing wrong with them but I will never purchase Goodyear product anymore! After about 3 years, I started to have an intermittent little shimmy in my front end at high speed (e.g. 70 mph). Continued to drive it while trying to figure out the issue (continued to get worse). Read a bit online and finally decided that it must be unbalanced tires. Had the tires spin-balanced and then had a little less of an intermittent shimmy at low speeds (e.g. 30 mph). Took it to a mechanic that I trust. He told me that the tires were dry rotting on the inside and that he wouldn't recommend good year tires because he had seen this before. Called Good Year and they told me that the warranty could be pursued but it would be based solely on the remaining tread (regardless of the mileage warranty). Ridiculous? Furthermore, I have never ever had a problem like this with tires on my Highlander. I going to purchase Michelin Latitude Tours (which was what I had purchased and was very happy with in the past... the Michelin Latitudes were great the entire life of the tire).

Just had a sidewall blowout on my right rear on a toll road going a little over 80MPH (42 degrees near Austin, TX airport). Driving a 2005 Suburban, 3/4 ton (heavy duty towing package rarely used) with current mileage of 139,545 (have driven about 200 miles on spare). This tire lasted 7 months/7,000 miles. Had 4 of these tires put on at 132,298 miles after having a right rear sidewall blowout of a Goodyear FRTRA T.T P265/R16 114T SL VSB "snow tire" on March 30, 2012, same Suburban. This set of snow tires were installed (same dealer) on March 30, 2012, and per DOT# on blown out tire, was manufactured in April 2012. WHAT IS WRONG WITH GOODYEAR'S HEAVY DUTY ALL TERRAIN/OFF ROAD TIRES FOR SUVS?!!! I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GOODYEAR TIRE!!!

Please do not buy or purchase Goodyear tires if you love your family. I bought a 2011 Chevy Traverse and had the Goodyear duelers rotated every oil change and at 35,000 miles, the front tire separated and Goodyear's kid mechanic said it was a nail. I have been a mechanic and do know about tire separation as I am also a molding and extrusion expert. These tires were weather checked at 24,000 miles. This means already failing at 3 years use for a 60,000-mile tire, either the UV stabilizer was not used in the formulation, or there was a cutback in carbon black that preserves and protects the tire from UV light.
Anyway, I was taking my two children to their football game at the Vikings stadium and returning home, the front end started to shake violently. I managed to get to the gas station, put on the spare. The next day, went to Goodyear to get the tires replaced via pro-rating. They said I would have to pay full price for tires that were on the vehicle since it was new and the kid there said it was caused by a nail. The tire still held air but the tread was separated from the tire. Base on my knowledge, this cannot happen by a nail.
So either this is a taught deception to retain revenue, or the Goodyear personnel don't know how bad their tires are. Oh by the way, if you have Goodyear tires, they will not give the pro-rating for another tire replacement other than Goodyear so you are stuck with the same result, which in my opinion is an admission their tires really are deficient or they would offer to replace with the tires with brand of your choice, if they made a warranty worth the paper it was printed on.

I sent the tire to goodyear and they determined the damage was due to "impact." They won't warranty the tire or cover the damage to my truck. I'm very upset with Goodyear because of a defective tire they sold which failed within less than 2 hours of purchase and installation of the tire and sensor. It was very dangerous as well as inconvenient and expensive. I had a low tire while out of town in Philadelphia and brought the minivan to Goodyear. There was road damage to the tire and they said the stem was damaged. I paid 321.85 for the tire, sensor and an oil change. I took the minivan at 3:54 pm on 10/5/14 and started out home. Goodyear Levittown, PA. The tire gave out all at once on a VERY smooth, newly paved highway between Allentown and Scranton, about 60 miles from Scranton. I got out of the car and saw the damage.
I called Goodyear at 5:24 pm, less than 90 MINUTES after I had left the dealership. They said that they were going to be closing at 6 and I was about 70 miles away, so that they couldn't help me, but that any dealership would take care of it. So my daughter and I were 5 hours from home on the side of a highway in the dark. I went to the dealership in Tonawanda and they said that the stem sensor was leaking. They did not give me a new tire, but not a new stem or sensor as they said that it was then working and they claimed the rim was not damaged. However, they wanted to charge me $21.75 for new insurance. They claimed that they could not see any road side damage. The tire was split along the entire circumference and torn asunder.
I said I wanted to be in the same position I had been when I left the dealership after spending the $321, which included having road side hazard insurance for 3 years. I wanted the claim handled as a warranty claim and not as an insurance claim and I wanted to be put in the same position as when I left the PA dealership. The manager stated he could not understand what I was talking about, that there was no difference between a warranty claim and an insurance claim. He claimed that he did not know what caused the blow out. I asked for the tire back so I could have someone else examine it to find the cause. He stated he had to send it to the insurance company so they could determine the cause and he could get reimbursed.
Basically, at a minimum, I want to be made whole in what I bought from Goodyear which INCLUDED the insurance on the vehicle. Goodyear should at least purchase the insurance so I have actual ROADSIDE hazard coverage. The problem was caused by the tire or the way it was installed. LESS than 100 mi and less than 90 MINS from Goodyear! They refused to take full responsibility for their product and workmanship, claiming it could have been anything which caused the blow out less than 90 minutes and less than 70 miles away from where they sold the new tire! They claimed the blow out was caused my driving it too long on a low tire and take no responsibility for anything they did!

In 2012 replaced old Assurance Tires with new Assurance Tires, had for 1 year with 15,000 miles on them and they were making a lot of road noise. Going back to Classic in 2013, tech said that the tires were cupping, said that tires needed to be rotated, and that wheel alignment needed to be done. Went to have another look from another reputable tech and they said that the tires were of poor quality. The front end needed a small adjustment and the back shocks started to leak but were ok.
We had the shocks replaced, went back to Classic and they would give a small proration of $25.00 per tire off a new set of tires. We ordered new tires along with a total car alignment and everything was checked out and good. 10 months later the same noise came back. We took the car back to Classic and they said that the tires started to cup. They would not do anything for us, said that they RECOMMENDED ROTATION. Reading about this problem of cupping is caused by poor inflation, poor suspension, or alignment, none of which Classic did find wrong with the car.

The next day, I took it to a Goodyear dealer in town and asked about warranty and defective tires. I ghosted the van as my wife drove it. It was not obvious to see, but I guessed a rear tire. So "Discount Tire" who I highly recommend (they get all my business) just replaced the rear pair at 15000 miles. I waited on that to get a definite conclusion. Anyway that problem went away, but now the new tires up front have added their own extra vibration, and especially at the higher 70 mph+ that I commute at.
These are expensive tires, so no you do not get what you pay for. I will wait a 1000 miles and see if Discount Tire can tweak them in better. But it is not the shimmy of out of balance, it is the I have marbles in my tread bouncy vibration that these give the ride. Granted they are new and it is below zero. Due to high hobbling, it feels like the car spare would even get affected and may meet accident at speed of 70-80 kmph. Against this, I have launched complaint with Tata dealer on 1/6/13, and my complaint was forwarded to Good Year Tire company. My complaint no. is **. With reference to this, the company engineer visited and checked the parameters of all the '04 tires. Since he was unable to understand the problem, he told us to use the vehicle and told us that our complaint will be kept open since the problem persists. After this, we were intimated by company's message that our resurvey would be conducted on 5/7/13.
On 5/7/13, the car was called upon at Tata dealership. We mentioned about the increasing problem with the tires and even went for the test drive with company engineer. After coming back, we requested to open the tires and get it checked on machine, but since the machine was out of order at Tata Dealership on that date (i.e., Cargo Motors Ltd., - Gandhidham dealership on 5/7/13), they denied and intimated us about and requested us to get it checked at somewhere else, since it was not possible there, even though the company engineer asked us to keep the vehicle at dealership. We did the same. After 01:00H, we were informed to take back the vehicle. The engineer who visited didn’t even inform us about the status and we found the report of all four tires in good condition was lying on the dashboard.
We really feel cheated as: 1.) There was severe problem during the test drive but nothing was found either in tire or on the mechanical side. What can this be understood as? 2.) Since there were no machine available at the dealership, how were the tires checked? 3.) Why weren't the tires checked in our presence? Why were the tires not taken to proper place equipped with machines to learn about the problem? If no machine were required to test the tires, why did the company conduct all these drama of customer care and engineers - since they have pre-fixed answer to customer problems? 4.) Isn't company playing with our lives? What if my car gets damaged, struck, due to poor performance of tires, and someone is badly injured or loses one’s life? I guess the company has no ethics and genuinity. I have ‘07 four wheelers at my disposal but never had such a bad experience with tire companies like Good Year.

We bought a brand new 2013 Dodge Ram Sport about two weeks ago. There’s only about 500 kms on the truck. It’s brand new. Everything on it is brand new including tires! About 4 nights ago, my hubby was on his way home from work, which is just down the hill from where we live, and he had a blowout on the front passenger’s side. He was going 60 to 70 kms (speed limit) when it happened. Thank God he was able to control the truck until it stopped. If it was me driving with my two year old son, who knows I may have not been so lucky.
We went back to Dodge and for sure those ** won’t do anything as usual. I mean, I understand blowouts happen, but on a set of brand new tires with hardly 500 kms on them? There was obviously something wrong with the tire. All we want is a new tire. And nobody will help us. We just paid almost $60,000 for a truck less than two weeks ago and we have been dealing with this for the last 4 days. We are driving around with a dummy tire on a brand new 2013 truck. The normal tires are 20 inch and the dummy tire is 17 inch. It’s awful how companies treat their customers even after you buy something so expensive from them. I hope Goodyear will do something to help us but it doesn't look promising. But if it happens again and something was to happen with my little boy aboard, I will come after them sons a **.

I bought a 2012 Chevy Volt with the factory equipped Goodyear Assurance tires in October 2011. I have put 54,000 miles on the car since then, almost all highway mileage. I have made sure to have the tires rotated by the dealership at 5,000-7,500 mile intervals to make sure that the tread wear was consistent. Today, I was driving on I-74 with the cruise control at 75 mph. Without warning (and I did not hit road debris, pothole, etc.), the inside wall of the front passenger tire split all the way around the rim and blew out. Fortunately, the road was absent of traffic and the weather was very nice so I was able to bring the car to the side of the road under control, although riding on the rim.
I have absolutely no faith in these tires now. I know I have put 54k on them but they have over half the tread left and have been perfectly maintained on a new model car! The Goodyear dealership says the tires are rated as a 65k mile tire and said that I must have hit something. I did not! The tire shredded without warning and for no reason! It sounds like there are similar instances of these tires having weak inside sidewalls. This seems like a major safety issue to me.

I bought three brand new Goodyear tires on June 13, 2011 from Kings Tyre Service in Thane, Maharashtra. Last week, one tire punctured on the way of my long tour (it was not actually punctured; it has a defect in the tire on the side wall - don’t know how it was). My car's stepney was also punctured few days back and did not get a chance to repair that. I was stuck on the way in the forest. Somehow, with the help of someone, I called a mechanic to fix that on the tire's side wall and I reached my home very late at night.
Next morning, I asked to Kings Tyre to change it as it is under warranty. They told me the engineer will inspect the tire and give us feedback. But the engineer is talking very rudely and directly said, “Why did you repair outside? You should have that inspected by company then you can repair.” Can you tell me if you stuck somewhere with this situation and will you go to find the Engineer/Goodyear company to file a complaint first then you will reach home??? Or will you repair that and go home then you think what to do next??
Also, I have the question on this problem. What is the reason to cut the side wall on my new tire which has not yet ran more than 10,000km??? It’s not my fault if I repaired the tire and reach my home safely. Please help me on this as I am very unhappy with this issue... attaching the engineer’s report and my tire's bill. Expecting some action on this.

I purchased four brand new Goodyear Duratrac tires 3 months ago. One tire turned out to be defective and was confirmed defective by Goodyear technician after it went flat. Multiple Goodyear technicians continually asserted that the defect in the tire was my fault before eventually opening the tire up to inspect and confirm that it was in fact defective. I was told multiple times by licensed Goodyear dealers that they do not honor warranties from other licensed Goodyear stores.
The defective tire was measured and reported to be 14/32 and was sold as 18/32 tread constituting a 25% use. How could I have used 25% of the tire in 3 months? I only drive 25 miles a day. I was then charged 25% of the brand new tire price for the highest listed price (I was charged less than the highest price when I purchased the tires). I was additionally charged an install charge to put the tire on the rim, all for a tire that was defective from the manufacturer.

I called the 800 number due to the rear tires that I purchased being defective with loud noise and wearing unevenly. My car carries a set of tires in the front that is different from the set of tires in the rear. After four attempts, they claimed they were going to replace only the rear tires. After the fifth attempt, they finalized and said they will replace all four tires with a different brand. Now the problem is they will not refund me my money but will order me a new set of a different brand of tire for the car. It's been well over a week that I ordered the new tires and well over a month for this issue to be ongoing with no resolution. Still driving on the defective tires (safety issue) and I keep being told that I have to wait for them to arrive. I would and have requested a refund, but it’s not an option.

Over the past 10 years, I have had a total of 5 Goodyear tires fail due to twisted belts on two different cars. The first car was a 1999 Pontiac which had two tires with twisted belts, and the second car was a 2007 Buick which had 3 tires fail for that same reason. Both cars developed vibrations and/or slow tire leaks which upon inspection at tire shops were determined to have twisted belts. These repairs were made at three different tire shops, of which one was a Goodyear dealer. The tires had anywhere from 25,000 to 40,000 miles on them at the time of failure. One of the tires, the most recent failure, did qualify for a pro-rated replacement to the tune of $170 for a matched pair. I declined and chose to replace with Michelin tires instead. I prefer to buy American, but I have bought my last Goodyear tire. You'll be the judge in regard to your future tire selections.
P.S. I still have the '99 Pontiac with Michelins which have 70,000 miles on them and are still running fine with no leaks or vibrations. The Buick is also Goodyear free now.

The four Goodyear tires on my 2011 Honda Pilot need to be replaced after 19,100 miles. The Honda dealership has offered to replace them with new tires at $140.00 per tire. The local Goodyear rep says the original tires are substandard due to Honda's request for tires without a long-wear component in them. Why would someone pay $35,000 for a new Honda with substandard tires? This will be my last Honda. This issue would certainly make a great class action suit.

Eagle LS tire belt separation - I would appreciate you and your manager at the Hull St. Midlothian, VA store to replace the Goodyear tires on my car with something entirely different Goodyear product or someone else's product. We have been dealing with this Goodyear store for a very long time as our car is a 2002 Crown Victoria. I have also had several other cars over the years, which have also been supported by your store in Midlothian. There is a reason why we changed to the Goodyear product, which is I had a similar car with Firestone tires on it. When the tire blew, I lost control of the car. It was the most frightening time in all the years I had been driving.
My husband had a similar experience with a Goodyear tire on Rt 64 in fast traffic, when his Goodyear tire blew and lost its tread. He was moving at about 70 mph or more when it happened. My husband is a very experienced driver and was able to control the car preventing having an accident on interstate 64. Had either of my daughters or myself been driving the car when this happened, it would have been a very different story. Because we have been dealing with Goodyear for a long time, I can appreciate the manager being able to track when tires were purchased and all service done to them. That is a very good service and I have no complaint with being able to track such things. My complaint is his determining this was not the fault of the Goodyear product, but the age of the Goodyear product.
In the meantime, I am not comfortable with anyone in our family driving the car with the Goodyear tires on it. Our other cars have different tire brands as we have not needed new tires since purchasing the vehicles. I have agreed to pick our car up and bring it home, but it will sit in the driveway until this situation is resolved. Because Goodyear's representative in Midlothian wants to sell us a new tire with all of the associated costs, we are being inconvenienced until Goodyear decides if they are going to stand behind their product. Firestone tires caused many accidents. Some accidents so serious that families lost their loved ones and that loss can never be replaced. As I said before, had my daughters or myself been driving the Crown Vic with the Goodyear tire that blew and lost its tread, this would not be the same letter you would be receiving. I am sure you are as thankful as we that the girls and I were not the driver going 70+ mph on Rt 64 in the height of the Richmond, VA traffic.
Let's work together now to make sure my family and other families, who depend on the Goodyear tires to keep us safe, are truly safe. Replacing our tires with a newer better made tire, either Goodyear or a competitor, is a step in the right direction. Letting other Goodyear tire owners know they have somewhere to go to discuss and perhaps come to an agreement with Goodyear on how to feel safe with their loved ones driving on Goodyear tires is another step in the right direction. Our family will continue to be inconvenienced until you and I can come to an agreement. I hope it isn't for long because as you do, we all have jobs to do. You can reach me by email, but I would prefer if you would just call me. My numbers are below along with my other contact information. Thank you.

I wrote a complaint earlier about the Goodyear tires I purchased at BW Tire in Pickerington. They told me I hit something that did the damage and my road hazard insurance would not cover the damage. I would like to apologize to BW. They were right about the car hitting something but who or what was responsible, I will probably never know. In the past 2 months, only 3 people have driven my car and none of us hit anything. I can only believe that it was either done at the car cleaners, the place where I get the car serviced or at the valet parking at the hospital. Those are the only places I can think of where we did not have control over the car. However, that does not excuse BW from telling me about the cheap sidewall tires that is being made and sold - nor the fact that the road hazard insurance can refuse to pay for anything they do not consider a road hazard. I will still not buy anymore Goodyear tires nor any of their road hazard insurance. I found out today, that other companies insure the tire against any kind of damage. My sincere apologies to BW for not believing the car hit something, but no apologies for not being given pertinent information about the tires or insurance.

On March 30th, 2012, I went to the BW Tire in Pickerington to replace a tire (not Goodyear) that had a huge hole on the inside of the wall. I was told they didn't have a tire to replace the one that was bad and I was let to believe that they should all be replaced - plus I needed brakes, shocks, rotors, etc. By the time they were finished, I had a bill for $1484.24. The front passenger tire kept losing air and I took it back in Oct. to have it looked at. At that time, I was told that it was just the change in the weather temps and that's why it kept going low. The worker simply filled all the tires with air - 38 lbs. each.
The first part of this month, the tire started to lose again. It was the same excuse. On Nov. 17th, I got in the car (in the garage) and the tire was totally flat. The sidewall looked like it was separating. When I took the car over to have the tire checked, I was told I would have to leave the tire because they had none like it, but it looked to him like I would get a new tire for free but I would have to buy new road hazard ins. for it.
On Monday, when I went to get the new tire put on, I was told that I would have to pay for the tire because somebody had hit something with it, like a curb - no way, I never park at the curb, don't go anyplace where I would have to do that - but they would discount the price since the tire was only on the car for 7-1/2 months. I am now getting ready to go through the same thing as the rear tire has a huge bulge in the sidewall and there are no other marks on it. And I know that there is no way I hit it against anything.
I feel this company has just plainly cheated me once and is getting ready to cheat me again. Calling the BBB doesn't produce any results and the Attorney General's office has a backlog, which means it could be next year before they even look into the matter. In the meantime, I am going to be gouged again for another Goodyear Eagle GT, product code 100-576-277-0---205/50R17 93V XL. This tire cost $149.90. The second tire discounted (ha, ha) cost $96.81.
I am a grandmother who watches her grandchildren daily and takes them wherever they need to go. Those tires have not only endangered my life but the lives of everyone of the people I have had in my car. If those are the kind of products Goodyear makes and then will not make good on them when they go bad, then I am through with the Goodyear Tire Company and will certainly tell all my relatives and friends how I got the shaft from BW Tire and Goodyear.

My GY G670 RV Tires were less than 5 years old. GY has a 6-yr. warranty. Tires are inflated properly always. Tires were checked before leaving by a tire company. After 1 hour into the trip, the rear tire blew out, rusted belts were exposed. How do these belts get rusty? I had the tire replaced and the remaining tires re-inspected. All the tires appeared brand new looking! However, a few hours later, the front driver tire blew out! It was the same thing, rusted belts. On the RV website, there are hundreds of posts regarding this problem. Goodyear needs to recall these tires but they won't. GY did compensate me for half of my cost, but I am worried about the safety of these tires more than the cost! I have now replaced all of my motorhome tires with non-Goodyear tires. So far, there have been no blowout problem with the new non-GY tires.

Fortunately, I found out when the first one got low on air and did not have any catastrophic events due to a blow-out at high speed. Goodyear claimed that they have had no problems with this tire and is giving me the standard adjustment based on tread depth. Unfortunately, in order to get any kind of compensation, I now have to replace them with the same tire except now, I have no faith that this tire will last. I'd love to switch to Firestone or any other manufacturer but then, I might lose any compensation I could get from Goodyear assurance tires.

My wife bought a car in November. The car has not even had the first payment made and the front passenger tire blows out while driving to work. The tires were Goodyear P215/70R15 Ultra Grip. The separation is in the sidewall of the tire by the rim. I put the spare on and within the week, the opposite front tire did the same thing. We called the dealership to have a replacement, but they won't since the tires are separate from the car warranty. I was told to contact a Goodyear tire store. The tire store won't do anything because the blowout and leak are in the sidewall of the tire! I am not at all happy right now and I won’t buy Goodyear again.

Very disappointed in these tires. I purchased the all weather tire in May 2012. The tires continually leak! It started out at the shop with PSI at 35. I noticed my gas mileage went down from 18.3 around town to, get this, 14.3 (Jeep Liberty). I checked the pressure and found that over the course of two weeks, the tire PSI was at 33 and 32 (again, at rest more than 4 hours in a garage). I have filled these each weekend. Heck even brought the hubby to ensure I was reading not only the installed gauge, but the handheld gauge as well. Also, I believe they disconnected my tire sensor. Prior to this, the sensor would alert to low tire at 33 PSI. Now it does not. Hopefully I will be able to work it out with my shop. They seem to be reputable but if they are selling a horrible product, not much for them to do. I am sorry I replaced my Futuras for the Assurance. The overall ride in the Futura was more truck-like, but the mileage was much better.

We leased a new 2012 Toyota Corolla which has Goodyear tires. On our first trip in the car, with less than 800 miles on the tires, both front tires "exploded". First the left, then immediately following, the right tire blew. We were in the left hand lane on top of a mountain in TN. We were barely able to get the car to the right hand berm and off the road. We feel fortunate that we are still alive because that is a heavily traveled road. Our insurance refused to cover the tires. It is obvious that we did not hit anything, even though the dealership to which we were towed said that had to have been the reason! Neither my husband nor I saw anything in the road and the damage to both tires were on the outside walls.
