Sunriver Solar installation

To work with Sunriver Solar, start by requesting a free quote online, by phone or in person. Once a quote is started, Sunriver Solar representatives will gather information about your home or business to understand the project quote. Then the design process starts, with factors like electrical consumption, shading, panel orientation and tilt all taken into account.

Once Sunriver Solar designs a system and you accept the quote, the company works to secure permits, and then it installs the system. Once the system is installed, you’ll get ongoing customer support. All the company’s projects come with 25-year workmanship and manufacturer’s equipment warranties.

Sunriver Solar services

Sunriver Solar offers customer support for all systems and equipment. Submit a ticket online to get a call from a technician. After gathering information, appointments are made. This includes maintenance and repairs. Sunriver Solar offers this service even if you didn’t work with the company on the original installation.

Sunriver Solar costs

According to the company, solar installation costs range from $10,000 to more than $100,000. Factors affecting price include system size and installation complexity. Your system size is based on factors like shading, panel orientation and tilt.

The solar investment tax credit (ITC) is an incentive that can help offset the project cost (as of publishing, you’d get 30% of the total project cost in the form of a tax credit).

Financing

Sunriver Solar offers zero-down financing options. Terms range from 10 to 30 years, with annual percentage rates (APRs) ranging from 0 to 6.99% at the time of publishing. Financing is available for qualified borrowers, with lending available to those with credit scores as low as 580. Financing comes with no prepayment penalties, meaning you can pay off your loan at any time without penalty.

I have an extensive solar system put in through SunRiver Solar. They did fine by me. I had moved down from Nevada and I wanted to get solar. So, I called them up and the guy who first came sold me on it. He didn't have to push really hard because I wanted to get a fairly large system in. I had the money. My bill went from $400 a month down to about $8. So, I got no complaints. It will take a while to pay back the amount I had to spend but I paid cash for it. I don't owe any money on the system. I'm happy with what I got. SunRiver knows what they're doing. I just wish the guy who originally came out and sold me would come back and talk to me a little bit about it. Mainly, about how to read the thermostat in the house and how to reset it. I get confused. I'm older. So if he would come back, I'd appreciate it.

SunRiver Solar is amazing. I have never worked with a company that took care of everything. I was having emergency surgery during that time, and between Rick and Teresa, they took care of everything. She even called and made a doctor’s appointment for me because I was so sick. I've never seen a company that goes above and beyond. They sent me a care little package, tea and some stuff to feel better. They were so quiet and so clean. Every day, they picked up after themselves. They explained everything that was gonna happen ahead of time. It turned out that my county wanted a different panel installed and they absorbed that extra cost. They told us that they've never had anybody do that particular panel, and so they said, “That’s something out of the blue, but we'll take care of that part.” It was amazing.

When I initially got on the phone with Teresa, she was so lovely and really took the time to explain, and she said, “I can have Rick, my husband, call you back and go over all the technical stuff.” She said, “This is a huge purchase and we don't want anybody to rush in unless they're 100% comfortable and have all the answers.” I said, “Okay,” and she said, “I can set you an appointment, evening or weekend, or whatever is convenient.” Rick came out and he already had all the drawings of how the sun went over and where he would be laying the panels. After he left, I talked to my neighbors and I said, “Look. Did you guys get any of this?” They were kind of all irritated, and they were like, “Nobody did that for.”

The way they did the panels was for the best advantage of the sun, but they did low profile ones that didn't look horrible. Right then and there, I said, “Okay. Good enough. I'm going with them.” Since we've gone solar, our experience has been great. I was paying about $900 a month during the summer hot months and then once I got PG&E, because it takes PG&E a couple of months, but they prepared me ahead of time and said, “Get a squeaky wheel. Just keep calling and tell them you had solar installed and you wanna be disconnected and connected to the solar program. The more you call, the more chances it's not gonna take forever. But it's about a three-month time frame.” It took me about a month and a half of calling, and they came and did it. Then my first bill was $12 and some odd change. It was life-changing. I thought it was a mistake, so I called PG&E just to make sure and it was correct.

The solar panels were put all along the east side of my house which is in three weird different roof sections. They did a bunch along the east, and then they did a bunch along the south, so you don't even see them from the street. I have giant redwoods all around me, so they couldn't put any on the west side, but the way they managed to put them works out perfectly. They were really conscientious about how those panels lay out, and that was the difference. It wasn't what I was watching my neighbors go through. It really almost deterred me from not getting solar except for the expense of what I was paying a month for air conditioning.

      Installation & Setup

      Reviewed April 28, 2024

Signing up with SunRiver was easy and they were the cheapest I found. Our system's all installed and working. So far, so good. My bill is also a lot lower. Their reps were good, too. During installation, Matt, the foreman, investigated some existing underground conduit that I had, which saved me some money because I didn't have to trench anything. And when they put the conduit that they had to put in, they made sure they put it where I wanted it so it wasn't an eyesore.

The sign-up process with SunRiver was fairly easy once we decided to go with them. It essentially was just a contract you would have with any other contractor. Their rep gave me an estimated date. We signed it, we got approved, and we put down a deposit. It was as simple as that. The installation was only two days total, and it was transparent from our side. The installers let us know that they were gonna be here, and they would show up at 9 o'clock in the morning, and they'd work until 5 o'clock. We didn't have too many issues that they had to adjust the plan. So, the installation went fairly smoothly and they took care of everything.

Going solar with SunRiver is great. We did have one hiccup. Something happened with the software in the control panel. They came out within a couple of days and fixed it. They were immediately responsive. Once the system was up and running, it produces more solar than we consume, and we got a battery as well. So, we charge our battery, we run the pool, and we even push a little back to the grid. We had our air conditioning on yesterday during the day and the system produced more than what we needed. We're completely happy with the way that the whole system is running and operating.

Overall, SunRiver is the most affordable and lowest pressure sales. I dealt with Peter who came out and sat down with me and went through the plan, answered all my questions, and never pushed for the next step. Every other solar salesman I dealt with was always like, "When are we gonna sign? When are we gonna push?" I had quotes and I had dealt with at least five other salesmen. SunRiver never pushed, and the product that they offered came in at a much more affordable price than anybody else.

      PriceOnline & AppFinancingBattery

      Reviewed April 27, 2024

The owner of SunRiver lives here in Lake of the Pines where we live. They worked with us to create a good deal. They have good financing options and we like the sales and support people. They're very helpful. We found SunRiver to be the one that we wanted to go with not just for the price, but also the equipment that they were able to do. They were able to use Tesla power walls, and that was our preference. They are more financially better than the Enphase, one of the other battery companies. We like the Tesla app as well. It works with our cars, so we have one app that supports our cars and house. That works very well together. Right now, we are having a bit of a problem with the house side of the app. Our house monitoring portion of the app has been flaky, but they've been out twice to work on it and they're coming tomorrow again to try and resolve that issue.

We like SunRiver. They've done a great job for us. We can manage our power ourselves. We like being able to look at it and see exactly where we are at any given time and what we need to do to be more efficient or when we can look at using more power. We have 41 panels and three power walls. When the power walls get to 100%, then we divert the energy to the cars so the cars act as our overflow. We try to avoid using any power from the grid, and so far, we've been able to do that 99% of the time.
