The customer service that I received from the store manager May 11th, 2024 at the River City Station was very disappointing and unprofessional. The store manager accused me of complaining too much to the associate manager concerning my ring that had a missing diamond. She suggested that I get rid of the ring or risk this happening again.
My ring has been repaired twice with the same unresolved issues, a missing diamond from the same area on the ring. The store manager seemed to care more about sale of another ring than my feelings resulting in no empathy or sympathy. I didn’t feel like a valued customer. The store manager constantly interrupted the sales associate as she tried to help. She proceeded by asking me inappropriate questions as she tried to rush me into buying another ring.
The core value and trust in which Kay Jewelry stands on was broken. This experience left me feeling pressured and rushed to exchange a ring that may have less value than my original ring. I was also asked to pay an additional $700 towards the new ring to honor the full exchange. This experience has left me very disappointed with the quality of the jewelry and the customer service at Kay Jewelry. I am hoping this can get resolved in a more appropriate manner and it will be passed along to corporate.

Full Review on why I am giving it two stars. Buying off Website was easy, and a fair price. I let my Partner pick out the ring and I surprised her on the when. She absolutely loved the ring. The engagement didn’t work out. I went to trade it in and was told I couldn’t because the Levian collection is considered junk. I was surprised because I was never informed that it was junk. On the Website it was advertised as this premier collection.
I was a Kay Customer for years up until that point. I ended up selling the ring for half of what I paid for it. My issue was I felt hood winkled into the purchase as they advertise their trade in program. I was under the impression I was purchasing a diamond only to find out it was mostly Quartz. I’m not a Jeweler, my bad, should have researched more. Be careful with your purchase.

Good day. I went in to purchase a pair of earrings. This was the price in front of the display. When I went to ring it up, they came up to 115. The sales lady said the signage didn't refer to those earrings but the ones beside them. Then when I said I wanted them instead, she said she was wrong. It didn't do that either.

I placed an order with Kay jewelers online. I know I entered the correct shipping information but somehow, they got the old info on my order! I called customer service from the time I ordered the ring until the day it was delivered to the wrong address!! After I repeatedly called and called customer service to help, nobody would help and now my $6500 ring has been delivered to a state 6 and a half hours away that I don't live in. And they are telling me there isn't anything that they can do!! On several occasions I ask to speak with a supervisor, and they refuse to put one on the line!! Several said that a supervisor couldn't help me, and another said that I would have to call back in 24 to 48 hours to speak to a supervisor!! Someone signed for that package and got a free $6500 ring, but it wasn't me! Now I'll have to jump through hoops to get my money back!

Buyer beware... My husband bought me a beautiful @levian_jewelry ring from @kayjewelers for Valentines Day 2018. I constantly take both this and my wedding ring in for inspection and cleaning multiple times a month since buying them. They closed the store that was an hour away from us and I then had to drive two hours each way to the next closest store- which I did monthly before moving to Arkansas. Since moving here two years ago, I have gone in bi-weekly if not monthly as it's so convenient and get them cleaned. In December my prongs broke and the stone fell out. I found it thankfully in the laundry. Get my ring back and it breaks again within a week.
This time I can't find the stone. They told me it would be back by January 2nd but I didn't get it back for over six weeks. Fast forward three weeks and guess what? It breaks again. Now they refuse to fix it or warranty the merchandise. The sales lady that sold us this ring told us that as long as I have it inspected once every six months it's 100% covered. This is a lie. This company sells garbage for way too much money and then flips you off when it breaks. Just don't shop with them. Not worth the heartache and tears.

To all customers, I strongly urge you DO NOT BUY FROM KAY. If you buy something with a "promo" they will not advised you of a 3 day grace period after the promo is up, to pay what you have in full, in return they will charge you 29% interest. KAY is WRONG and unprofessional for doing this. After 30 minute supervisor conversation, I was advised they just dot not let people know of the grace period. Which in fact are screwing the hard working people over that buy from KAY. KAY is a joke. If this place went bankrupt it would be for the best. KAY, go screw yourself.

Simply put…don’t waste your money here! I had a beautiful diamond ring set bought for my 15th anniversary. Well, found out husband cheated, divorce pending, tried to sell my set. Colorless, nearly flawless, solitary princess cut, 1.55 carat diamond ring, just for the one part of the set. Whole set cost JUST under $9000, on sale. Regular price close to $15,000. They boasted how great lab created diamonds are. Yeah well I’ve gone to countless jewelers and the most I’ll get for this set is for the weight of the gold! To get anything for this set the most I’ve been offered is $425! They’re fancy scammers that get to hide behind a big name! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

Hello. I'm visiting a friend in Kannapolis North Carolina. While my friend and I were shopping, I decided to stop in Kay's to purchase a birthstone bracelet to celebrate my upcoming birthday. Upon entering, no one acknowledged our presence. I'm a ** female and I noticed that there were no ** employees at this location. That's not an issue for me but since I wasn't greeted, I was trying to understand why no one even said hello to me. I'm a very outspoken person but my friend told me not to spend my money at an establishment where no one acknowledges my presence. We decided to visit the Kay's in Salisbury N.C. What a difference! When we entered, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. An associate named Cheryl approached me. She asked if she could help me with anything. I told her about my experience at the Afton Ridge store. She kept apologizing for the experience that I had endured.
I told her that she had nothing to apologize for because she wasn't responsible for the horrible customer service I was given. This woman went above and beyond to regain my confidence in shopping at Kay's. No one should have to be turned away because of the way they look, speak or dress. My feelings are beyond hurt. This needs to be addressed with your staff. Word of mouth travels. Disappointed is an understatement in describing how I feel. I was about to cut ties with this store permanently. I used my fiancé's credit card for my purchase and before I did, I had considered telling him to trash it. Thank you Cheryl for helping me with my purchase and reassuring me that customer service experiences can still be pleasurable.

I purchased a ring on 11/10/2016 at your Peru Kay's store. I went to the exact same store within the last 6 months to get it sized, and was told one of the diamonds was cracked. Kay's would NOT size it. But I could buy another diamond and replace the cracked one for a mere $1,000. I could not believe this was happening. I then went to a jeweler in a family owned store, they said they would size the ring, but it wasn't cracked. It was flawed! If this is your policy to lie and cheat your customers this all makes sense. I will ALWAYS be truthful when someone asks me my opinion on your stores! Customers beware!

My husband purchased me a pendant ($1600) for Valentine’s Day, but was unable to present it to me at that time because I was out of the state. He waited and gave it to me for my birthday, which was a month later. For several reasons, I wanted to return the necklace, but, before I could do anything about the necklace, I needed surgery. As soon as possible, I walked into Kay Jewelers in Lagrange Georgia, on crutches, to make the return. I noticed that they had a 30 day return policy, but was hoping they would give me a break, considering I couldn’t get in sooner due to surgery. The store had just opened about 15 minutes earlier, but I was NOT greeted warmly when I entered the store by a young man, who abruptly asked what I wanted. I stated I had a return and handed him the boxed necklace with the receipt.
He looked at the return and the receipt and simply said “it’s over 30 days, you can’t return it”. I asked if he could do anything considering the circumstances and before I could say much else, he simply shut me down and said “No, we can’t take it back”. He had an attitude from the moment I walked in as if I interrupted him opening the store, and was rather abrupt in the way he spoke to me. I was on crutches with my foot in a boot and could tell this guy had no interest in helping me and decided there was no use talking to him further. As I reached over to take back the boxed necklace, which was open, it snapped shut as I took it from his hand.
He immediately snapped at me and said “Don’t you ever snatch anything from me like that again!" being shocked by his attitude and his rude comment, I asked him if Kay Jewelers knew they had an employee as rude as he and he quickly stated that he was the manager! I responded that’s even worse! As I started to leave the store, another person walked in stating they wanted to make a payment, this young man (who states he’s a manager), chuckled at me and pointed to this new customer, and stated “This is a return customer”. I stated to him, "We have always been return customers as well, and we’ve always paid cash in full." He made some smart comments to the other customer where they laughed as I struggled to leave the store. I feel this young man was not only rude, but extremely unprofessional, and disrespectful.
I called Kay Jewelers customer service, who were also shocked at his behavior, apologized for him and said they would make a note. I asked for the district manager to give me a call which they stated they would. I can’t understand why a reputable, jewelry company would actually employ somebody with such an attitude, and no understanding of customer service which includes keeping your personal bias and attitude to yourself when it work. Also, the customer service representative advised me although they don’t allow a return after 30 days, but I COULD EXCHANGE up to 60 days, which the young man never bothered to mention. Needless to say, I WILL NOT SHOP THERE AGAIN and would not recommend the LaGrange store to anyone!

Kay Jewelers trade-in verbiage is, "You may trade in your diamond for another diamond at least double the trade-in value." My diamond became cracked and loose so I used the life-time warranty we have and requested a repair. Kay Jewelry did great with repairing my color but they replaced my clear, cracked diamond with a diamond with two, huge, black specs and the new diamond isn't as shiny as the original one I had previously. I am upset that I received a less quality ring than originally purchased.

My husband has been buying me assorted jewelry pieces at Kay for many years and literally spent thousand of dollars. The quality has certainly gone down hill with repairs needed on several pieces multiple times over the last few years due to poor quality. Many of the pieces are beautiful but just not up to par and then add in the mostly horrendous customer service from our local store (Jefferson Valley Mall in NY) and it becomes a no brainer to go elsewhere. My husband has been treated like a stranger on the street with several employees from this store on more than one occasion, not like the loyal customer is he and has been for many years.
There is a big turnover at this store which does not help. You would think they would appreciate long time, loyal customers especially since this Mall has been on the brink of closure for many years due to reduced traffic but in my opinion based on our experiences, you would be wise to take your business and money elsewhere.

We purchased two heart shaped birthstone necklaces for our two granddaughters online. We called the store and asked if they stocked the item and they do NOT stock online items. These were real 10k gold at a cost of $150+ each. Upon receiving them, they arrived in a cheap jewelry bag and the necklace chains were all tangled. Plus, they didn't look anything like the picture. So, we returned them to the local store for a refund. The refund receipt did NOT have the value of the refund on it. When I questioned the clerk, he said that is just the way the return receipts are finalized and it was a full refund.
Upon returning home I received two emails and they didn't refund the $9.95 shipping cost on both necklaces. I called customer service which said she would handle it and then she transferred me to the store. The store said they do not have a way to refund shipping and to call customer service. I called customer service twice and was told no way they will refund the original shipping cost. I understand if we shipped the item back to them and they have a processing fee for doing so and restocking. But, when returned to the store the FULL amount should be refunded. So, bottom line, don't buy ANYTHING from Kay's online. They sell garbage and overcharge for shopping and will not refund it. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE!

I was still charged the full/extra amount after addressing the issue and the manager that called me after the second delay had poor management skills, she didn’t acknowledge the mistake and said all they could do was just get it to the “normal” price after I got the product even though I had to call about their overcharge and to find out they closed my case because “there was no phone number” and it was delayed a couple times. I recently purchased bracelet from Kay. This was for my wife for Valentine’s Day from their online store. When the product arrived it was the wrong bracelet. I contacted them via chat on their website that night and was told my inquiry would be sent to the e-commerce department and I would hear from them soon. I did not want to wait to be contacted so the next day I called and spoke with a man named Robert over the phone. Told him about my experience and that I wanted to return the bracelet that was incorrect and be shipped the correct bracelet. He was very short with me almost like sticking to the script. Didn’t seem overly concerned.
Robert directed me to the website where I was instructed to go to the returns tab to get a label for UPS to send the bracelet back. I told him I needed the correct bracelet by Feb. 14th. He said it would take about 10 days. He did not mention anything about a refund. The next day once I shipped the bracelet back to them I received an email stating that I would get a refund. Long story short, this Kay jewelers purchase was horrible and we will never use them again.

Ok on December 8th 2023 my husband took me to Kay’s Jewelers to purchase me a white gold chocolate diamond ring… we found the one we wanted, we purchased it and was told it would be back in time for Christmas, well guess what it wasn’t, so I reach out to them to see why it wasn’t back, then I was told it would be back on the 13 th of January cause they said it had to be sent to Le Vian to be sized cause of the warranty on ring…. Well ok I was ok with that, well fast forward to the 13th no ring again, then I was told that Le Vian was sending it back cause they don’t like sizing up rings they like to make them in your size, well back and forth me and my husband reached out to them and was being told different stuff each time…
The slogan of Kay’s is that it begins with a kiss…. Yeah a kiss of lies, anyway reached out again a week later they say my ring was sent out to be sized at LeVian, yeah after being told a week before that LeVian was sending it back, I was so upset at this point…. Fast forward a few days later and my husband calls them and he is told that it was in the process of being sized with LeVian…. Yep he sure was told that… so I got on phone and said y’all told me that LeVian was not going to size it and was sending it back over a week ago… I tell them I need the manager…. So the next day the manager reaches out to us and says my ring was sent out to their company to be sized… so it’s been lies after lies….
Fast forward to February 1st my husband calls them and says we want our money back… so we are transferred to management which tells us the ring will be here but 530 on that day... Well they call later that afternoon and say my ring is here…. So I go the next day to pickup my ring… Y’all it was not the ring I ordered. It looked so different. It was definitely not the same ring. Chocolate diamond ring is chocolate color. This looked like a sand color. Totally upset and wanted my money back…. Well I was told they couldn’t refund my money cause it’s been too long since I purchased it… Well you can imagine how I was feeling by this time….
I sit and wait and finally the manager says how can I help you and I tell her the problem and she says it’s the lighting…. No ma’am it’s not the lighting and I want my money back…. So she says she has will call DM to see what to do…. She is gone a few minutes and comes back and says they will refund my money since they had it the whole time, I will never shop with this company again! I was so excited about this ring when we purchased it to just be totally disappointed almost 3 months later!

We purchased an engagement ring (with the additional extended warrantee) in April, 2023. My fiancée wore it from July - Jan 2 when the entire mounting and diamond fell off. Thankfully I found the diamond and brought it right back to the store. After speaking to multiple salespeople that were not overly willing to assist, they informed me that they cannot repair it and that ring has been discontinued so it can't be replaced. After much persistence, all they could do was issue a credit but not for the warrantee. This is not acceptable as the warrantee provided no guarantee or warranty as they said it would when they sold the policy. I do not want to purchase another ring as an engagement ring should not fall apart after 6 months and then be unrepairable. As well as the fact that I purchased the one I liked and now I have to settle for something else. Customer service was not helpful at all.

On January 2, 2024, my husband and I went into the Williamsburg VA store to ring shop, it was our 18-year wedding anniversary! After viewing and trying on several rings we narrowed our selection down to one. It was a pear-shaped diamond white gold ring. I absolutely loved it! So my husband applied for the credit card and was instantly approved! We placed the order and was told it would be several weeks before it would come in, go out to be resized and then ready for pickup.
Fast forward it is now January 23 and we haven’t heard anything so I asked my husband to reach out to inquire. He received an email that the order was cancelled, unable to fulfill. I the next day visited the location and the rep reached out to customer service and was told that we, or the store cancelled the order. I was contacted the next day by the rep that basically said they could not fulfill the order because the same ring, same size they could not fulfill because of other orders previously placed the same time as ours. This makes no sense!
Why have an item in your inventory that you can not fulfill? Not only have you pulled my husband's fico score (which is over 800) ruin my anniversary, and now we have a credit card that is useless to us. Your slogan is Every kiss begins with Kay? No, your slogan should be every lie begins with a kiss from Kay’s. I will make sure that I am telling everyone from social media, word of mouth and the BBB the deceitful nature of your company. We were never offered a comp or discount, if we reordered we were told the shipping or sizing would not be extradited. The most worst experience ever!

I ordered an engagement ring and an anniversary band to take with me on vacation instead of wearing my really expensive rings, I received a text message saying they would be in on January twelfth which was great because we were leaving on the 18 of Jan. I called the store to make sure they were in and was told oops. That was a mistake we accidentally said they were ready. So a couple of days went by and I received an email saying they were ready and another text saying they were ready. So I drove 35 minutes across town to go pick them up. Only to find out, "Oops we couldn't fix that in the computer. They're not in yet.." I told them I had contacted their customer service and their customer service assured me they were and again. I was told, "Oops that's a mistake." they don't know if they're in or not. Then why the heck have a customer service line.
I tried reaching out to the store multiple times 2 days in a row. And every time the phone rang, it either would ring forever and disconnect. Or someone would pick the phone up and hang it up. When I went to the store to pick him up. One girl was somewhat perfunctory and her apology. The other people were not even close to apologetic. Nor did they offer another solution since they had a case full of similar items, which I would have gladly exchanged my purchase for. At this point I am so aggressive. I'm ready to return the whole thing and go to a different jewelry store. Based on the apathetic customer service I received at the retail location. It's my opinion that they either severely discount. These rings or offer me some sort of upgrade based on the frustration that I received. I could easily take this to an attorney. And I would be able to win the suit based on the multiple emails that I received and text messages.
Trust me I've checked at this point it's considered a breach of contract. I understand mistakes can happen but is my opinion that the store manager needs to contact me with an apology and a discount of some. I had no trouble paying for the rings at the drop of the hat. And I could easily go to another store and just pick up something out of the case to satisfy my needs while on vacation. My current rings are worth way more than what I spent. But I don't like traveling with my good rings. In the event they are lost or stolen. It is with great disappointment that I rate the store as a whole as a one based on their atrocious customer service. I sincerely hope that my review will keep others from purchasing and they think there to avoid the frustration I have gone through.

I bought jewelery from them about two months ago. They had to adjust the size of the bracelet. I bought the set mainly for the bracelet. The leftover piece of the bracelet was to be used to make a ring which I paid extra for. I gave them two separate phone numbers and emails to have them contact me when it was ready as I would fly in to pick it up since it’s only my vacation home in Colorado. They called, emailed and texted to assure me that my jewelry was ready to be picked up. When I get there to pick it up, they said they were confused and nothing has been done and not only that but they just realized that the type of bracelet it is can’t even be fixed.
No apologies or compensation for the hours and money that they wasted of mine, just told me it was my problem. Calling it unprofessional and unfair behavior and treatment is an understatement. Not only that in the meantime, I wore the necklace just once and the hook in the back became loose. So despite it being over $600, the workmanship is extremely poor. Never again! My first and last time with Kay J.

Then my husband tried to make a purchase online and they said the address didn't match the card. So he would have to purchase in the store. How inconvenient is this? We decided to close this account and move to another store that will appreciate our business. I would never tell anyone to shop at the store, please take your hard-earned money and spend it in a store that treats you well.

So I placed an order for earrings to be delivered to my mom and she wanted to be able to sign for them. The option was available, so I had them shipped to a UPS access point. I realized she wouldn’t be able to pick them up from there either, only I would. I called within 30 min and told them to cancel the order and was told the cancellation was submitted. Now, 8 hrs later I get an email saying that the order has shipped and is on its way.
I contacted customer service again and they said sorry and sent me a link to start a return. Seems like they are doing everything in their power to keep any little money they can. I see why people trash them. I should have paid the extra $600 and went with a quality jeweler like my husband told me to. Now I know. They seem like a bunch of scammers. Also, magically the cancel button wouldn’t work on any of my devices for the whole 30 extra minutes I had to cancel up until it told me my time to cancel had passed. Very convenient.

Last Friday, December 1st 2023, I went into the Cambridge Ohio store. I have been a customer of Kay Jewelers over 40 years, all the way back to when they were Rogers Jewelers and my grandmother was purchasing from them. My first piece of jewelry came from them. I have never in my life been so humiliated, embarrassed and offended as I was last Friday. I had dropped off a chain and custom ring, both which have a lifetime extended warranties. The manager, Tiffany, had called me to tell me to come pick up my jewelry and they would not be dealing with me any further. This ring was compensation for a mother's ring I had taken to the store several years ago to have repaired and somehow had inadvertently been destroyed.
This manager, Tiffany, was the one who had handled the original transaction and evidently there is some negative feeling on her part in assuming because when I went into the store to follow up on the phone call to pick up my jewelry, she began referring to that situation and making the most outrageous defamatory statements I've ever heard from what is supposed to be a professional. She immediately said that she was not going to allow me to take advantage of Kay's and that I was a criminal, a liar and that she had sent my "mugshot" and those were her words, over corporate. I was floored.
She went on to say that she knows all about me and she made sure that corporate does as well and that the company as a whole was "done with me"! She said they would not honor the warranties and continued to assassinate my character in the middle of the store in front of other employees and customers. I don't know if this woman has mental issues or if she was on some type of chemical that caused this behavior but I have literally never in my entire 51 years of life, been treated like this by someone who was supposed to be operating in a professional capacity.
I left the store and immediately typed an email to the representative at Kay Jewelers who had worked with me in creating the custom piece originally, Kaitlyn. She reached out to me the following day and expressed her disappointment and apologies for the way Tiffany behaved and assured me that this would be forwarded to the appropriate department to handle. Kaitlyn is extremely professional and an asset to Kay Jewelers; she has been clear with me however, that she cannot ensure that this is dealt with only that she has passed on the information. It has been nearly a week and no one has reached out to me even though I have insisted that I need to speak with someone who can assure me that this manager has been dealt with appropriately. The only person who seems to care about this is Kaitlyn, and she has no ability to deal with anything other than repairs.
It's disgusting to me but it appears at this point that Kay Jewelers has no issue with this type of defamation and mistreatment of loyal, lifelong customers. Myself and my family going back generations have been loyal customers of this company and it's appalling to me that someone didn't reach out to me immediately and that this woman was not swiftly dealt with. To behave this way in itself is disgusting but to do so to an undeserving, innocent person and to do it in front of customers and other employees is so unacceptable I don't even have words for it but here we are an entire week later and evidently Kay Jewelers supports this behavior because they have not bothered to say a single word or make a single apology to me!
This manager, Tiffany, is a loose canon and should not be permitted by Kay Jewelers to continue in a professional capacity after behaving in such an unhinged and absolutely appalling manner towards a customer. I was genuinely hoping that Kay's would address and deal with this and I could leave it there but it doesn't look like that's going to happen so it's time I consider my next steps and how far I'm going to have to take this to get justice.

It all started in July when I needed to get my wedding and engagement ring to be resized. They had to cut off my ring because my finger was swollen. The initial price was quoted at $229 per ring. Each ring required an additional repair (per their repair team) and the price was now $449 per ring. Totally ridiculous but they are my most precious piece of jewelry. So It took until September to get them back and now they no longer interlocked together. How resizing could change my setting was beyond me? Very upset I contacted the customer care team (which doesn’t seem like a ‘care team’ to me). The girl explained that sometimes when rings are ‘traumatized’ they do not go back the way they were. Traumatized? Still not understanding how resizing can affect the setting. The girl said they would offer me some compensation but their repair shop could not fix them to interlock anymore.
Now it is end of October and the girl called me twice and I contacted her over 15 times. With no compensation and just more and more frustrated. My most precious jewelry is destroyed!! The manager at the Krocks Rd store has been very helpful and I realize this is not on them but the care team is not helping me at all! It states on the bottom of their repair ticket that ‘complete satisfaction is their number one priority’. I can’t seem to agree with that. I will never recommend taking ANY repairs to Kay Jeweler again and if you ever need to contact their customer care team please remember they do not return calls and don't seem to 'care' at all. I thought that was their job!! Disgusted.

I had the worst experience at Kay Jewelers today and will never return! Five weeks ago, during a medical emergency, my wedding rings had to be cut off my finger by medical personnel. I went to the Kay store in Columbiana Mall (Columbia SC) today to use my lifetime protection plan for the repair. I was immediately told by a male clerk that the protection plan was null and void because the rings were cut off. What was I supposed to do? Lose my finger or hand? What good is a protection plan when a customer is in a medical situation?
The man was unprofessional, rude, condescending and turned his back on me and went into the back office never returning. He never tried to help me and refused to bring up our plan in the computer to check the conditions. The man is WRONG--the plan does not say the rings were not covered-the only thing that is not covered is loss.
I am 68 years old and have never been treated so disrespectfully. I left the store very, very upset and went to a competitor, a few steps away, where I was treated like a queen! We will never buy from Kay Jewelers again and will 100% of the time go to their competitor. If I could give stars they would get in the negative numbers! For anyone who may read this, all I can say is DO NOT shop with Kay Jewelers! We have consistently had terrible experiences with them, at different locations since December. I have gotten nowhere with store managers, customer service, etc. They say one thing and then question you when they don’t hold up their end; when you try to hold them accountable to their word. They give your jewelry back to you in worse or the wrong condition than when your jewelry was sent out. We sent my rings out three times over a period of almost two months. They were only supposed to be gone for two weeks to be resized. They “accidentally” or CARELESSLY soldered them together after resizing them incorrectly twice. Apparently they don’t know how to size the rings they sell. (Finally after receiving them back, I saw that the metal has been scratched by a file, and I’m afraid to send it out again to be fixed).
Because we have the warranty they recommend with purchase, that we pay for monthly, we get unlimited resizing/etc, so they will not reimburse us for any of the mishaps they created, as we continue to pay monthly for their mistakes to be covered. We then tried to return a ring that we no longer wanted to keep (separate from the ones that were mishandled) in perfect condition/brand new. Returns are 30 days, but it was not clarified that if it was purchased in store, if that is from date of purchase or from the date of being received. It was sent out to be resized the day of purchase, for two weeks. We were under the impression that it was 30 days from the ring being in our possession.
I tried to return it (35 days from the purchase date/16 days after having it in my possession). I asked for a return or credit, as I’ve had it with me for less with three weeks. They would NOT do ANYTHING, wouldn’t even listen! I’m a patient person, but I will tell everyone, friends, family, strangers, to never shop with them. They have lost customers for life.

I finally decided to get my engagement ring resized after wearing it for a year and a half with the sizer. No issues other than it was too big. First of all, it took THREE weeks to do the simple task of resizing the ring. You’d think they would do a careful job but no. Within two weeks of getting it back, two diamonds fell out of the band. I took it back to Kay where at first they said it would be another three weeks. However they put it in that it was Kay repair fault or whatever since it was so close to the initial repair and the guarantee date was 10 days later. Whew, no big deal.
BUT now it is a day after and I’ve called the last two days where they said it is probably coming in the mail. But of course the new story today is that they’re waiting to get a perfect match on the diamond of my band and they don’t know when it’ll be ready. I’m not sure why they call it a guarantee date when today they said it really is just an estimate. I would highly suggest changing the wording. So who knows maybe I won’t even have it for the wedding. I’m glad we purchased through Kay for it to just be at the repair shop for eternity. I really regret getting it resized at Kay and trusting them.

Recently my boyfriend lost his mother and inherited her belongings. He was elated to find the beautiful ring that his deceased father had worn daily and was designed and made by his mother. He decided he was gonna get it appraised and wanted to wear it because it was so special. Unfortunately it was too small, so he took it to Kay's. His parents had purchased jewelry at Kay's for many years. We went to Kay's off hwy 20 on January 2 and dropped it off to have it appraised and sized. When the associate looked at his father‘s ring under what appeared to be a microscope, she made a comment that all seven diamonds were impeccable, and that it was a truly amazing ring. We bought a bracelet and an Opal ring for my daughter as well. We left the ring in their possession to be sized and appraised, and they told us they would contact us as soon as it came back from the appraiser.
Almost 6 weeks later, and after several attempts to reach them by phone, we went back to the store. We tell them why we’re there, and they start looking up our account. We were told they hadn't contacted us because my boyfriend's phone number was listed under another name; and they seemed generally disorganized and unprofessional. We were baffled because we have a Kay's credit card, and have been there several times prior. Already frustrated....We were shocked when we were informed that a burglary had occurred, and my boyfriend's ring had been stolen on the 4th of January. We were literally in shock, and appalled that the manager had no sympathy for a lost ring that meant so much to my boyfriend. He mentioned casually that other customers had lost pieces of jewelry in the theft worth much more than ours....as if that made our loss less traumatic!
This situation became the most unprofessional experience of our lives! We were never notified about the incident. We were not given any insurance claim information. We were told the possibility of recovery was highly unlikely. The store manager showed total disregard for the loss of a ring that had immense sentimental value to my boyfriend. Beyond that, he took no responsibility for the monetary loss. It is beyond comprehension that any business manages to stay afloat when treating customers as we were treated.

You should not buy your engagement ring from this jeweler. They said my return window (30 days) was closed even though my ring wasn’t delivered until 31 days after I ordered it. Then when I said I thought it was 30 days from when I picked it up, they said ok. Then I was told the district manager said no and that was that. Later I was told it was a custom order and not returnable for that reason. I was never informed that the diamond and plain diamond band I wanted that they ordered for me was custom. They have been horrible to deal with for a refund. So frustrating, the customer service rep said they’d escalate it and someone might reach out in a week, after they spoke to me like I was dumb because I didn’t know my order was custom might I add. When I checked in 3 days later they told me they were now escalating it and it would be another 7 days from that date until someone reached out. The whole experience has been awful, do not shop at Kay!

Well, then I asked to look for a replacement that is the same as the one got lost. I was they would call me by end of the day to let me know, off they did not calll. I called them and they told me that they had found and it would take another week to be ready for pick up. - did not follow up.
I called the store to check if my ring arrived and they told it did. - how come they don’t call to let me know? I went to pick up and the associate could not find my ring- what a mess? How come they don’t keep it in a safe or a common place for pick up? Associate then call the manager and was able to find when I was about to leave the store.
The biggest issue besides the whole mess they have in that store is that the associate did not give my ring unless of a sign a general release that is manipulative and definitely should not even be legal and I will look more into it. I asked another associate if everyone signs that and she said she was there just covering that she doesn’t work on that relocation. Well, every Kay policy should be the same. I asked my sister who had sent her jewelry for maintenance and fixing and she said she never signed the release and I knew that because no one should and wouldn’t sign that.
I said, I am more than happy to sign a receipt confirming I am picking up, but I won’t sign this general release. Long story a left without my ring that is paid in full and they are holding forcing me to sign the release. The release is me agreeing not to make any negative comments on social media and that we have resolved any issue amicable. How can they make sign that and don’t release my ring?

She lives out of state so I ordered online in her name and shipped it to her. Immediately after ordering, I realized my phone auto-corrected the address to her address but my state and zip.
I call to have it fixed and was told no. Even though it didn't ship yet I was told they cannot change the city state and zip code. I then changed the delivery to a UPS drop-off location so it wouldn't get lost to an address that didn't even exist. Well since I put it in my aunt's name UPS couldn't give me the package. They had it sent back and returned on December 29th. This is where the fun begins! I got an email on December 29th saying I would get my refund in 7 days. 10 days later I have nothing. I email Kays and surprise surprise their "vendor" never even issued my return. Was told it would be expedited and will be issued within 7 days.
7 days later was told it WASN'T issued and will be in my account in 7 days. Guess what - NO REFUND! Chat support people have zero idea what they are doing. I sat ON HOLD for 15 minutes 27 seconds just to be hung up on this morning. No one will email me back and the support chat are reading my messages (2 checks means read) & not saying ANYTHING! Horrible material and so over priced. They tried to say since it was a custom ring I could not get my money back after spending thousands of dollars. That was not going to fly. Never buy jewelry from Kay's, especially if you are thinking of investing in an engagement ring, because they will rip you off. My fiance gave me his mother's ring, purchased in 1999. The stone cracked in 2022 because it was heavily included (meaning a poor quality stone). Kay's replaced the 1 carat diamond (SI2 rating) with a 0.85 carat. We called them out in the store and had to make a scene before the manager agreed to do anything. She replaced the diamond with a 1.03 carat of worse quality, I2 rating.
Please only buy diamonds with certs, and don't do it at Kay's or any of the companies that also exist under the same parent company. Diamonds from Kay's without certifications will all be of poor quality/near worthless, and Kay's have somehow found a way to legally sell you "1 carat" diamonds that are actually much smaller. Educate yourself on the 4 Cs of diamonds and understand what you are buying. Instead of educating their customers, Kay's take advantage of their lack of knowledge in an attempt to get them to pay MUCH more for a very poor quality stones that other jewelers wouldn't even touch. Their certification (GSI) is also a scam. It is only used by companies owned by the parent company of Kay Jewelers. The only thing accurate about a GSI cert is the diamond's size. No other jewelers use this company to certify their stones because it rates stones too favorably.

STAY AWAY!!! They do NOT stand behind their products at all. Bought my wife a ring. She wore it 4-5 times and the diamond fell out. We have been dealing with this for months promising phone calls back to us and speaking to multiple people. The verdict was we could send it in to get a free estimate to repair and replace the diamond. Before this we were told the new diamond would be free but the repair would be about $500. That is more than the ring. Why would we do that? They NEVER offered us any other solution. Not a trade in, a discount for an upgrade, NOTHING! So I said then just get me the free diamond and I will take elsewhere for them to repair the ring cause $500 is ridiculous. They said they can't do that unless it gets repaired by them. Lol. What a bunch of scam artists.
I hope this store closes down. They have idea how to take care of customers and the product they sell are probably 2nds. I mean why would a diamond fall out only being worn 4-5 times with no damage to the ring. After Kay's looked at it and made that statement of it not being damaged. For your own good go somewhere else oh and buying online with Kay's is no different because the local store will make the ultimate decision of what to do with your product. Spend the extra or go somewhere else this company is a JOKE!!!

A week after getting engaged to my high school sweetheart I excitedly went to Kay Jewelers on Westminster Drive in Carlisle PA (now out of business). It was 1/16/2019. I don’t remember much about the experience except that I remember the salesperson’s name was Bree and it felt like everything that we asked her was an inconvenience and it felt like she really didn’t want us there. Despite the poor service we were excited and ended up buying my wife’s wedding wrap band and my wedding band as well. At the store I was sized for a 9 which felt big but she assured me that it would be the right fit to prevent it from getting stuck. So I believed her because she’s the professional right?
So we check out and she tells me that the ring I chose was tungsten carbide which means that it can’t be resized. If I want to get it resized ever I need to purchase a warranty (for $59.99 on top of the $399 spent for the ring). She assures me that this is a lifetime warranty but that the resize can only be used once since it basically means replacing the ring. I chose to go to a jeweler instead of buying it online because I wanted a quality product with a warranty that I could be assured would last for life (the length of our planned marriage) so I purchase the warranty (especially since I already wasn’t confident about the size of the ring). So we check out and I immediately am bothered by the size of the ring.
I never wore rings before so I didn’t know what was to be expected but I found that many regular activities resulted in me almost dropping the ring off my finger. It bothered me so much that I bought a rubber ring in order to prevent losing my nice ring and to make it more comfortable for me. This lasted me a little more than three years before it broke and I returned to my oversized ring. After a few days I decide enough is enough. I’m going to go to the jeweler and just use my one time warranty to get it resized. I decided to go back to Kay now at the South Center Mall in Tukwila, Wa. A long way from its original home but that’s why I chose such a well established nationwide brand. I go in, explain my situation and after looking me up, the sales associate (Johnathon) explained that the warranty that was sold to me was a 3 year warranty and was no longer valid.
This was 11/13/2022, a mere ten months after the expiration of this warranty that I was lied to about. The sales associate clearly stated that this was a lifetime warranty that was only to be used once. Johnathan was nice and offered me the information on my sale and the customer service number to attempt to correct the issue but effectively had no other options for me. So I call the customer service number in the store still with high hopes that we can come to a solution and I spoke with Jenifer. Like Johnathan, Jenifer also offered me essentially no solution. She stated that she couldn’t do anything on her end but that she would reach out to e-commerce who would respond to me by email or phone call in 7-10 days.
With no resolution and almost 2 hours of my day wasted I leave defeated but still with high hopes for a resolution. Those high hopes diminish after those 7-10 days come and go. 11/29/22 I finally give them a call back to check in. I’m greeted by Fahmia who immediately greeted me with hostility and demeaning nature. On multiple occasions while trying to explain my situation I found him literally yelling over me. He told me that my case was closed and that there was nothing to do. He said that there was no one else who could help me. Was extremely reluctant to let me escalate the situation any further.
Finally he stated to let me speak to his manager but similar to my previous situations he would not let me speak with a manager immediately and made me await another call back. He assured me that a manager would call me within the next 24 hours. To give him credit I did get a call the next morning but unfortunately the supervisor did not give me a personalized number and I was working night shift so I missed her call during the day. To be fair they did call me one other time but the same situation occurred and not leaving a resolution or personalized number in the voicemail I was left only to start from scratch calling the main number, explaining my situation, and hoping they would let me speak to a manager.
Finally I call them back on 12/8, go through the whole process of automated messages and then a general associate explaining my case. After explaining my case she asks me to give a number to have the supervisor call me back. I insist on speaking to a supervisor right now and she says that she can’t give me a supervisor but she can read the note on my file. Finally I get the resolution which offers me a 10% discount on another ring and refuses refunding me my warranty or honoring the warranty that was sold to me. After almost a month I was effectively told that they wouldn’t help me.
It’s not only frustrating because I was lied to, but the only reason I went to a large Jeweler was because I wanted to be sized and I wanted a warranty to be able to keep the same ring (neither of which were fulfilled). Now I plan to go to Amazon and buy the same quality ring for $19.99. Luckily if it ends up being the wrong size I can buy literally buy 23 different rings and sizes to be able to cover the cost of my one ring and warranty that I only got a few months of use out of. I recommend doing yourself a favor and going right to Amazon or non-jeweler. These big companies neither offer the assurance of the brand or additional quality and the markup is astronomical.
Also PS: Kay Jewelers is owned by a parent company called Signet which owns over 2,800 stores including Kay Jewelers, Zales, Jared, Banter by Piercing Pagoda, Diamonds Direct, Blue Nile, JamesAllen.com, Rocksbox, Peoples Jewellers, H. Samuel and Ernest Jones so don’t think you can screw over one by going to a different store. They’re all the same.

I decided to go back online on December 6th, and ask about the item again to Kimberly, she obviously didn't remember me, but that wasn't a big deal she probably talks to a lot of people. I asked if they had it in stock, she said yes, I sent her a copy of my email and said, "Well this email says otherwise." She said she didn't understand, it shows they have it. I asked who I can talk to, to find out if this is something they actually have. She talked to her lead, and her lead said they had it. I said, "Ok," and proceeded to do everything again.
Later the same day, I received another email saying they do not have it. I checked today December 7th, and the item is still shown online. The troubling part is not that they have their inventory in disarray, but the fact that I've been authorized on my credit card three times for an item I am not going to get. Granted I have plenty of credit on the card, but if you are someone who doesn't have a lot of credit on a card, I would highly suggest you not order anything from this company until they have their inventory under control. Kay Jewelers have fine jewelry, but only buy in store, when you can have the product in your hand that day and know they have it in stock. I am very disappointed with this company, and I will most likely never do business with them again.

Attempted to purchase a specific ring my wife had her heart set on for Christmas. Found ring easily on site. Checking out was a different story. Now, I have to say, this was 5 am on Black Friday. Perhaps there was so much site traffic that the servers were unable to keep up, however, I was redirected to my shopping cart (bag in Key Jeweler lingo) at least five times during various stages of trying to pay for this ring. Im guessing I spent 30-40 minutes trying to give Kay my money. Frustrating.
Next; The entire time I was fighting the website, I had a huge banner across the top third of my screen, further complicating the process. But wait! The banner says I've "unlocked" a $25 discount off this purchase! All I have to do is enter an eighty-six digit code at checkout! Wow! Maybe this billboard I've been struggling to work around will be worth the hassle. Not so much. I enter all of my credit card and shipping info (half a dozen times) and scour each page of the checkout process for just where it is I'm supposed to enter this code. After all, I have $25 dollars worth of discount I could apply to the diamond ear rings my wife mentioned that go with the ring. I search. I hunt. I scour. I take screenshots and send to friends, "Do you see a place to enter a coupon code anywhere here?" Nothing.
The veritable alphabet soup discount code that Kay was throwing in my face the entire time I was trying to checkout (that d#@m code appearing across my screen was THE ONLY thing that consistently worked during the checkout process) was but a tease? There was nowhere to enter that code. I tried clicking on the banner, to which the banner said,"Don't panic! Your code has been copied!" I combed the site for how to use the code. I was expecting to find the typical disclaimer: Code not valid for sale items, rings, necklaces, bracelets, ear rings, post-sale services, any goods sold on even numbered days, odd numbered months, full moons, half moons, harvest moons, or any day ending in "ay" unless member is Platinum level customer at which code can be applied to minimum purchase of $10,000.
Nope. None of that. I saw nothing qualifying or disqualifying this discount code. All I saw was the banner telling me Kay was offering me $25 off my order for the simple act of copying and pasting this Enigma-like code into the appropriate box at checkout....which didn't exist. Typical checkout chicanery I expect to see from shady fly-by night websites, not a website associated with one of the biggest jewelry stores in the world. That, ladies and gentlemen, told me everything I never wanted to know about Kay Jewelers. I will not be back to a Kay Jewelers site or store.

I trusted Kay Jewelers with my late mother's ring. This ring meant a lot to my mom and when it was passed to me after her death. This ring started with all CZ's when my mom got it. Over the years she replaced each stone with beautiful diamonds. She has one large stone in the center which she did not get to replace before she passed. In my mother's memory I bought a diamond from Kay's to finish the ring. The ring came out beautiful! I was so happy I actually cried when I picked the ring up from Kay's. I decided to take the ring to have it appraised and get the proper paperwork for it now that it was finally everything my mom would have wanted. To my surprise, the jewelers I took it to all said the diamond which Kay's put in it, wasn't worth a dime. Apparently it had a huge dark spot in the center.
I paid A LOT of money for this 1 and 1/2 carat "certified" diamond! I was so angry I called customer service to open a complaint and have the stone returned. They seemed very kind on the phone and seemed like they wanted to help me. They gave me a complaint number and said I would hear back in 10 business days. That was 3 months ago and I still haven't heard from them! So now they are calling me for the payment. Thankfully I added insurance into my payment so if I lost my job or became disabled, my payments would be covered. So with that being said, I opened a claim and let them know my personal situation and would like them to cover my payments. They said they would take care of me and I would hear back in 10 business days. It's been about 3 weeks and I still haven't heard back.
In the meantime, I was washing my hands a few days ago. As I dried my hands with a paper towel, the center diamond I had them put in the ring, completely snapped right off of the ring! Are you kidding me? What if I would have been out and about and this happened, and I would have lost that diamond??? I can't be more furious with Kay Jewelers for the way they have neglected my concerns, sold me a very expensive diamond which turns out to be worthless, and the quality and security of their work!! Had my engagement ring for just about a year. Took it in for a cleaning and the employee discovered that there were 9 stones loose. They did not give me the option to take it somewhere else for service. They sent it in on March 11th and promised it would be back within a week. Got notice that the ring had returned to the store and I called to see if I could come get it. The employee on the phone said that they never received it.
After a few days I begged for info on where in the world my ring was and they said it had to be sent to the service shop again because it was returned with more problems than it left with! HOW CAN A REPAIR SHOP DAMAGE SOMETHING WORSE THAN IT ARRIVED TO THEM?! Now, here I wait for my ring to return a second time and no one will give me any information other than "we don't know anything". I am PISSED! All I want to do is return the ring and go somewhere else. I am so sad and disappointed and they just don't care. I will never buy from this company again.

Payments are due on the first of each month, I make payments beforehand, more than required, payments are not posted on time, was told it is my fault. I go into the sometimes a week, or two before the 1st, they consider my payments late, and being charge interest on a 6 month deferred plan, still have 3 months to go. The extra money that I pay is not being put towards this plan, will pay balance, close the account.

We bought our ring from the Novi store and the customer service we have received from the staff has been horrible. They have not gotten us our certification for our ring and it has been 11 months since the purchase. Every time we call and ask they have no news on where it's at and can't find it. We have had multiple stones fall out of the ring and have had to send it in 3 times now for stones falling out. Just this last time a stone fell out so we sent it in and they sent it back with a crack in the main diamond so now we have to send it in again and it's going to be 1 to 2 months before we get it back.
The lack of care from their employees is so disrespectful. They do nothing and I mean nothing to help. We have had so many problems with our ring. I will never buy from them again. People please save yourself the hassle and do not buy from Kay Jewelers. Having to send the ring in 3 times in the first 11 months of having it is ridiculous. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
