After a long day at the vet and a very large bill I realized it wasn't the boiled chicken. It was the treats that I thought were safe! My dog only eats boiled chicken so I assumed the dehydrated treats were the next best thing. She has had a bloody stool for a while but as a dog owner that doesn't go to the vet every 3 seconds I was making up a million other excuses. Hindsight the treats damn near killed her. After meds and IVs she looks better in one day than she has in 6 months. Feeling like a horrible mother and will try to protest these treats outside of Sams. If you have any more questions email me. This is real!

Recognized this BAD Purina product is a product of CHINA, known to be a source of lethal results! Yet, WALMART continues to sell!!! Purchased this item before realizing it is STILL a product of China. I will be returning to Walmart tomorrow for a refund! Buyers beware of Waggin Train and ANY products of China!!! Walmart, shame, shame, shame on you! WALMART has several lawsuits against it already because of the terrible experiences of so many consumers, over the last 5 years, so why continue to sell these dangerous "treats" at such a risk? WHY?

I gave out pieces of the Waggin Train jerky treats to several little dogs. At 3 AM I found some bloody stool. I found my tiny female Yorkshire Terrier "down" with seizure like activity and severe acute bloody diarrhea. Despite meds for vomiting, oral support and immediate SQ fluids, she died within less than an hour of when I found her... She seemed OK though perhaps a bit listless at bedtime. The jerky treat was the only thing she had out of the normal routine. You decide. I blame myself for giving them to her, I blame Purina for selling them when they know how many problems they have had. My little yorkie is dead and there is no fixing that.

We had a Boston Terrier. "Oreo" was 3 1/2 yrs old, chicken jerky was the only treats he would eat. He started drinking a lot, not eating & uncontrollable seizures every 20 mins. He died shortly after that. We miss him everyday even after 1 1/2 yrs. Don't allow this product to be sold to our pets, it is killing them. These treats need to be removed from store shelves forever. Any food product made in China should not be sold in the USA.

My dog - a little maltipoo - loved those treats and I gave it to her until someone at work said they make dogs sick. He said to read on it and so I Googled it and found that animals have died because of that. Anyway, I stopped giving it to her but did notice the coughing prior to stopping the treats. I decided to take her to the vet, they said a lot of respiratory problems, enlarged liver, and she would have to take meds for the rest of her life. Well that was 2 years ago, she succumbed to her illness on Christmas day 2014. WE HAVE A VIDEO OF HER EATING THOSE STUPID SNACKS. We miss her everyday but know she is no longer suffering and no longer have to have her meds shoved down her throat 3x a day. We miss you our Hapa. Please be careful on what you give your pets. If it's from China, don't give it. I heard they keep the snacks in their warehouses until needed, so until then, any natural borne elements can contaminate it. If you love your pets, find a safe snack for them.

Does this included waggin’ train can dog food? Because that's what I'm been feeding my dogs as well as the dry, and my dogs have been acting like they just don't feel good. Two of them got real sick and almost died, and my little Chihuahua sometimes throws up after eating. One thing is for sure: we're changing dog food.

One of my rescue dogs went to the emergency room last week after bleeding from the rectum (lethargic, vomiting, diarrhea, not eating). He was diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. After spending 4 nights with IV's, antibiotics, etc he is now making improvements. Tonight, another one of my rescues has the same symptoms. We run a non-profit animal rescue kennel. There is a rescue dog food bank where we get donated food and treats. Recently, a truck load of Waggin Train Treats came in. At first I was apprehensive of giving these to my dogs as I heard bad things about China made treats. I called Purina to be told that this product was never re-called and that there were isolated cases of deaths in dogs. WHY IS THIS PRODUCT STILL ON THE MARKET???

It was right after we gave her these treats. I complained to Costco, where we bought them, and they were not responsive, which was surprising for Costco. Haven't given her a chewie since. My 2 'large' dogs who received 1 treat per day for a few months now suffer permanent damage. One of my girls nearly died - she was in ICU twice and several hospital stays spent saving her life. She now suffers IBS and my other girl has permanent liver damage - they both require daily meds to stay alive. It's true that the FDA hasn't named the cause - but it's also true that the FDA agrees that there IS - repeat IS - a link and they have been cautioning the public since 2007. It's also true the NYSDAM reported finding illegal sulfa antibiotics (levels higher than the FDA reported) and the product was withdrawn from market for over a year.

Experts say that the levels found would certainly cause the known symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, blood in vomit and/or diarrhea, gastrointestinal upset, liver damage, kidney damage, excessive thirst and/or urination, Fanconi, etc) in sulfa sensitive dogs. The different level found would explain the different levels of illness and/or fatality. The treats I had were tested by VIN and found to have 3 sulfa drugs - all illegal. Experts ALSO say that finding these drugs suggest that the chickens themselves were sick to begin with. How anyone can imagine that a healthy chicken could come out of the Chinese poultry system is beyond me. There are numerous Class Action lawsuits in the courts - not one has been dismissed, so apparently the law also agrees there is a problem.

I have met face to face with representatives working on the chicken jerky investigation. I know how committed and frustrated they are. I know that they are using the strongest language possible to suggest that pet owners don't feed these treats while the investigation continues. I know that they will be reporting to Congress every 6 months on where they are. I know that VIN and the veterinarian members of the AVMA petitioned the AVMA to issue a resolution against jerky treats from China. I know that veterinarians are advising against the use of this garbage. What I don't know is WHY, WHY, WHY on earth, with so much evidence and SO MANY OTHER CHOICES available, anyone would continue to use this garbage!?!?!?!

Back in 2007, I naively purchased a bag of this treats for my young, vibrant, healthy dog. She didn't gobble it up but picked at one treat for a couple days. I just assumed this was because she was playing it like a bone. By the end of the week, she had consumed 3 Jerky treats total. Mind you, my dog is 35 pounds. So this is well below the "feeding guideline" which should have been a big red flag. I mean what kind of treat has feeding guidelines? On the fourth day, my dog started doing this weird praying position for long periods of time. I had thought she was just stretching, but have since learned dogs do this when their stomach is in severe distress.

On day 5, I noticed she kept squatting and trying to pee. When I took her for one of her walks, she was forcing to move her bowels. After several failed attempts, she finally passed what looked like her insides coming out her rectum, followed by a surge of blood. I called the vet and they asked me if she had eaten anything "new". I said yes and told them the treat, which they told me to immediately discontinue. I did this and had to nurse her for 2 weeks. She didn't want to eat or drink and was lifeless. I was making my own food at this point and diluting it with water so she wouldn't dehydrate.

I am one of the lucky ones that didn't lose my dog. My dog who has sat by me for 2 years while I went through chemo treatments and has since watched over my children grow up. I cannot express the disgust and disdain I feel towards this corrupt company for knowingly killing furry family members. Please, I beg of you to do your research on ALL Purina products, as the treats are not the only problems. Purina is all about the lies and corporate greed. Your dogs have no voice to tell you they are suffering. They only have you...

After reading all the accounts of people claiming Waggin' Train chicken treats sickened or killed their dog, the thing that strikes me is that no one, including the FDA has been able to identify any toxin or disease organism in those treats, yet people still claim they are killing dogs. I fed my greyhounds Waggin' Train treats purchased from Sam's Club a couple times a day (one or two strips per dog) for at least five years and never had the slightest problem. Purina recently reintroduced their chicken treats to the market, saying they are all now made in a single plant in China with strict quality control. I've been purchasing them from Sam's Club again for the past couple of months and have still seen no problems with my dogs.

Regarding irradiation, there are plenty of USA-made dog treats that are irradiated. By the way, bile is normally released from the gallbladder into the small intestine to aid in the digestion of food. Vomiting of yellow bile occurs when the bile enters the stomach, where it does not normally belong, causing irritation. The mere vomiting of yellow bile does not indicate a dog has been poisoned.

That they are not to be given to puppies under 2 years old, please note it does not say this on the bag. That I must have fed them to her wrong. Their insistence that it's not their product and the consumer is to blame standard reply to EVERYONE is suspect... There is something seriously wrong with this product and this company!

We started giving our dog mostly Waggin Train & Canyon Creek brands of chicken jerky & 1 time duck treats 3-4 years ago. He loved these treats! He was throwing up a yellow foam and went from 17 lbs "of attitude" to 13 limp pounds. In Oct 2011, he was diagnosed w/ diabetes. Last March he almost died from insulin problems. Through blood tests, we learned that he had elevated enzymes which causes diarrhea.

Since then we have had to be very careful with what we feed him, having only home cooked chicken, turkey and rice and some special diabetic dry food. All canned dog foods are too rich and he can only be given very small amounts of beef to entice him to eat. He doesn't have much of an appetite anymore. The one thing he has consistently liked have been the chicken jerky treats. After not finding Waggin' Train, Milo and Canyon Creek last year we switched to Happy Dog treats 'made in the US'.

He is still diabetic and in August 2013 went blind due to his thick cataracts, and continues to have loose and sometimes bloody stools. We're taking him off these US treats too!! Boy we wish we had known these similar stories 3-4 years ago, because we would have stopped giving him any more of these treats. This is VERY maddening. Thank you all for writing your experiences!

Found duck tenders as my dog always like them (well jerky is what she always ate ‘til recall). Well I bought figuring they found why the recall was needed, so I purchased a bag. Then one day after dog had only 2 small tenders day before because I was nervous to try them again after recall once, I came home and she had blood in her stools and acting of the need to go potty. So put her outside and yes, she did and more blood... Now I don’t know if it was the tenders but that is only change in her eating as she eats dry food and fresh cooking of meats and veggies that are suitable for dogs and humans only.

So to the vet we went. Was put on bland food of which she would not eat. So it was boiled chicken and canned pumpkin (pumpkin only no spice) and on Sulfasalazine, and stools tested for parasites as I took what I had with blood in it the same day (2 hrs after I discovered she ill). I needed to make sure she ok. Stools came back negative (don’t know if they tested for kidney issue though). I did mention trying new jerky. I’m not blaming anyone just telling my dog’s issues and she has not had any more Wag-n-Tail just in case I will waste the money rather than a dead dog.

All I want is to know if yes there was a problem with what she had. She only eats quality food. Right now she is eating a 100% human grade ingredient. Chicken jerky has chicken, brown rice syrup, flax seed oil, and green tea extract and no issues (USA Made). No artificial flavors or preservatives, no animal meal, 100% grain free, 100% gluten free, no corn, wheat, or soy. I am not posting this for publication. I just want someone to contact me if they find out if Wag-n-Tails did have a problem with what my dog ate. She is ok and that is thanks to me seeing vet within hours and not giving her more just in case. So no more ever. It’s all natural for her always. She is so picky. I have cooked for her for yrs. There is not many treats she will even try. I waste more money on her dog biscuits, never will eat and more. So not wasting money on dog treats again. Will make her own jerky, it’s simple and I will know where that chicken came from!

I don't understand why this product is still on the market! My experience starts the beginning of 2010 when we found Waggin Train Treats in Sam's Club, carefully read the label, determined they were safe, and purchased them. We stuck with the chicken jerky thinking it was just dehydrated chicken breast and surely would be safe. We had been through the dog food scare (I think the previous year when it was found China had been putting melamine in dog food).

On March 16, 2010, our dog had her first two seizures just minutes apart while we were on a camping trip. When we returned home, we went to Sam's Club and looked for more jerky treats, but none were to be found. My husband looked online to order some but noted some google hits were talking about problems with these treats. We found they were causing seizures and death among other things. Our dog had her last chicken jerky! We threw out all that were left. The seizures on March 16 was not the end of our problems.

We did not lose our dog, but she lost her quality of life. She had 13 seizures during the months of April, May, and June (all very severe). Our vet put her on phenobarbital and potassium bromide which spread the seizures out to 1 or 2 a month (still severe). The seizures continue to this day, and each time we wonder if she will succumb to them.

We spend a lot of time with our vet. I believe all her problems all tie back to the chicken jerky. The seizure medication combination can cause pancreatitis (she has had two severe cases) and this led to digestive problems. We have to be very careful of every morsel we feed her or she becomes seriously ill. On Feb 13, 2013, the vet discovered she now has diabetes. Have been adjusting insulin doses to get in control. She has started developing cysts on her side and chest, still trying to determine how to stop them. On Sept 10, 2013, I noted she seemed to be having sight problems. By Sept. 13th, she ran into a metal fire pit while running to greet me. Within a few more days, she was totally blind.

It's like a domino effect, starting with Waggin Train Chicken Jerky. We thought we were being very careful, reading labels. We saw the product was distributed in South Carolina, but never saw in fine print "made in China" and we learned there is a symbol on the label indicating irradiation. It has been so hard going through all her seizures and illnesses, and now her depression since becoming blind. Whenever we see someone looking at dog treats, my husband goes up to them, tells them to put back the Waggin Train, and watch out for made in China. They get to hear our story.

When his vomiting didn't subside and started to be more like pink foam, I got concerned and urged my husband to take us to the emergency vet. The vet is about 50 miles away and during the ride, he slept most the time and wanted to be held. Once at the vet, they checked us in and asked us to take a seat until called. Throughout the time at the vet, he vomited five times and it was a considerable amount of blood (no longer pink foam). I felt so bad for him and also the man who followed him around with the mop/bucket. They asked if they should take x-rays but knowing he hadn't eaten anything a couple hours prior to that (other than WT Chix Jerky) along with the fact that we knew this would be a costly visit, we decided not to have x-rays taken.

They kept him overnight, gave him fluids, and monitored him. The next morning, my husband called me at work. He was talking with his sister and she shared with him that she thought there was a recall. I did some investigating and sure enough, there were known issues with WT out on the web since prior to 2011. My husband called WT and the gal that answered the phone could not speak of the recall but offered to send us some coupons on the treats. I still have the letter with the coupons (no thanks). When I called the vet to see how Cooter was doing, I mentioned the recall to her. She indicated Cooter was doing better, but not 100%, but that she was glad we brought him in as his kidneys were beginning to shut down and he would have died. She also stated that she had seen several cases in the recent past where owners brought their dogs in for the same thing and they were not able to save the dogs, so she would investigate the recall.

Later that afternoon (and $1300 later), I picked him up and he was just about back to his normal self. The vet did look into the recall and the sited issues owners were having. She even called the FDA to share our case as she felt the treats were the cause of Cooter's illness. Incidentally, we never heard from the FDA. I shared the recall with everyone I could think of. It was amazing to me that neither the emergency vet nor our normal vet were aware of the recall prior to this. This was a wakeup call for me. While I am a conscious pet food/treat buyer, I did not use to look for or understand the implications in purchasing items not made in the USA. You see, while items may have prestigious names on them like Eukanuba, American Kennel Club, Waggin Train, if you read closely they are made in China.

If you do look into it, you will find that pet food (or treats) not made in the USA are not held to the stricter requirements as those made in the USA. Often the made in China stamp is hidden (it's even been found on the UPC code). Having said that, I now look at the labels. I have sought out USA made pet products and pushed my pet stores to carry more of a variety. My husband mentioned to me a few weeks ago about this latest recall and I told him we hear all the time about frivolous lawsuits but too bad there couldn't be a class action lawsuit against a pet product company for those who have lost their beloved dogs or been impacted.

My husband and I have a miniature pincher that we consider our baby. She is 10 years old and has been with us since she was 8 weeks old and has always been a very healthy dog. We found at Wal Mart the treats by Waggin Train and brought them home for our baby. She loved the yams with chicken jerky so we continued to buy them for her. She started to become very ill with vomiting and severe diarrhea and fever. My first thought was she was poisoned by someone. We stopped all treats and just gave her stewed chicken and rice. Slowly she got better (Thank God).

When I went back to Wal Mart to get her some more treats, I learned they no longer carried them. There was no explanation as to why by anyone at Wal Mart. Today I was at Wal Mart looking for her Pupperonis and met a lady who was stocking and a lady who was there shopping the pet food isle also. I have to admit that I almost fainted when they began to tell me of the recall. I was deeply saddened and shocked that no one had posted anything at Wal Mart about this and the fact I had almost killed my own baby with treats I had trusted. When something like this happens, I believe these stores should make an effort that we the public be aware of all this. A lady who had been listening to our conversation interrupted and said she used to buy those also and her dog had died after she had spent over $2500.00 on vet bills. My heart goes out to all who lost their loved one or had to go through the pain of seeing their babies sick. This makes me angry beyond words can say.

To say the least, I was surprised when I read the statement from the company and the many comments from consumers like myself. Waggin Train Chicken n' biscuits - My parents’ dog, a very healthy active 10 year old dog, became very ill overnight. She was not moving and hardly breathing. We rushed her to the vet’s emergency facility. And after treating her for 8 days and $10,000.00 later, she pulled through. The dog had severe infections in several organs. I didn't put two and two together until I read comments and information posted here. The treats we were feeding her were making her sick. Now I am very mad. I'm looking forward to a class action lawsuit. We should all join in on that and at the very least be compensated for our financial loss. Many lost their pets. I am so sad for them.

We lost 2 beloved 4 and 5-year-old Chihuahuas in 6 weeks after they ate Waggin Train Duck Treats. A FDA rep did come to our home to pick up the treats and take statements from me and my partner. She also spoke to our reg vet and the emergency vet. We found the smallest dog who weighed 3.5 pounds dead when we woke up. Bloody diarrhea was everywhere. Two weeks later we saw the same symptoms (lots of bloody stools, anemia, respiratory distress) in our 10-pound dog. I am a RN and began research. I started at the vet site and ended up directed to the FDA site. The information was unbelievable!

The treats have now been recalled; however, we would still have our babies if this happened sooner. We spent $15,000 trying to keep Isabella alive. We are not wealthy. We maxed out care credit and other credit cards. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have treated her. She died anyway. She had an emergency surgery from an acute bleed into her abdomen and several transfusions. Our hearts are broken and we are haunted by our memories. They slept with us. They were really our babies. The Nestle Company / Waggin Train knows of our situation and they have not offered one penny towards our vet debt.

The FDA is putting a lot of time and energy into this. Since we had 2 dogs die in such a short period of time and both ate duck jerky treats several times a day, I think this provides a rare opportunity for research. We had two opened bags - one of those bags inevitably had treats that killed both dogs. They took 3 bags of these treats - two which were half-full and one that was closed. They took the organs of one dog. Since one was found dead the morning we woke up, we did not associate her death with the treats. After the 2nd dog had the same symptoms and same fate-death... they got involved. The FDA has also been in contact with our regular vet and emergency internal medicine vet.

She just wanted those treats and every time I take her to the vet, she would be four to five pounds overweight. So please, if you all have any of that jerky left, trash it. Just last week, I accidentally stumbled across the recall for the Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Treats because I think it was scrolling through the AOL news I clicked on "Pet Food Recall" or something similar. I always read these out of morbid curiosity (my friend lost a cat in the last melamine one) and as I feed Primal Raw Nuggets and Royal Canin dry, I feel pretty confident that I will not see them in the lists.

I was shocked, however, when I saw the image of the Jerky Treats. I really had no idea this was a Purina company or I would have been much more cautious. By reading the back of the bag, you are tricked into thinking Chris and Gena make them for their beloved pet and it even says it's an American owned company. We had been buying these for about a year and a half at Sam's Club because it's just dehydrated chicken for crying out loud. We thought it was healthy! How can the Chinese get something bad into just dried meat?!

We have 4 dogs (two large, one small and one tiny Chihuahua 2.5 lbs). I have two large 40 ounce bags, one upstairs, one downstairs and one unopened I just bought in December. We use them as a super treat when the Chi goes poo poo outside, about a quarter-sized piece. Anyone who has tried to housebreak a Chi will commiserate! She absolutely loves them. She will chew your arm off to get them. But since she doesn't like the rain here in Seattle nor her doggy door too much, she doesn't get a bite of one very often! I guess I should thank my stars she isn't pooping outside every day.

The larger Chorkie also gets one for pooping where he is supposed to and does every day, but has shown no signs of sickness or seizures. But about once a week or so, I find foamy green-yellow puke somewhere. Not sure which one does it, or both, but now I have an answer to why. I thought they were just eating grass. The big outside dogs get about one whole one a couple times a week. They seem healthy, but the Sharbrador has lately developed a pustule on his neck that I have been treating but is not healing fast. I guess a trip to the vet is in order now for him. I think that Purina should pay for any costs that are proven to be caused by these things. I mean the sore could be just a sore, not from this, but worth checking out now that I've read some of these other comments.

I am just glad that none of my babies has gone into organ failure like some of these other poor folks. I definitely think it is related to the amount fed, however. Someone posted that their super sick dog would only eat this instead of food (too much protein), but I know my Chi would too if given the chance.

I have fed my little Chihuahua these poisonous treats for over a year now. He has been having bad seizures, acting strange and generally not being his happy bouncy self. I could not figure out why and could not afford to take him to the vet as I am on disability. I was doing all kinds of research which pointed to his being poisoned or a brain tumor. I live alone so the environment is very controlled so I was pointing to the tumor. I just could not believe it when I went to buy his favorite treat Duck Jerky and Duck Wrapped Pork - both Waggin Train was gone off the shelf.

I did some further research and found the awful truth - I was poisoning my precious love, the pain and horror I have inside of what I have done to my dog, the awful seizures and just recently, the gas and wanting to poop a lot. I am supposed to be his protector and his best friend, and yet what I was feeding him was in effect killing him. I have 2 treats left and I am going to get them tested and no matter what it costs, he is going to the vet and get what ever tests and meds he needs. After all, I am the one who gave this evil to him. I am so sick over this. Once I know he is okay, I will turn my worry into anger, anger into movement.

I have to do everything possible to let everyone know not to give their dogs this poison. We need to band together and force our government into action, lawyers into action, post everywhere, email everyone, put everyone on notice, make everyone pass it on so that no other poor innocent precious family member has to suffer or worse, die. You can make a difference - save a life - act!

We had three Chihuahua's. The 3 pound Chihuahua was treated for a gastric bleed of unknown cause. It seemed to have recovered. However, we found her dead after waking up one morning and finding bloody diarrhea everywhere. Cassie was 5 years old. Our 4 year old Chihuahua began to show the same symptoms. We purchased 25 pounds of these jerky treats online in 9 months. The 3 pound dog preferred the treats to food. I didn't see this as a problem.

The American Vet Association recommended their recall in 2011. Obviously, this didn't happen or both of my dogs would be playing and almost surely alive based on their very young age. We borrowed $10,000 for her three hospitalizations and emergency surgery for her gastric bleed. She seemed to be doing well, but is now bleeding again with respiratory distress. None of the vets, including the Vet Poison Control Center in Illinois, know anything about the GI bleeding caused by the treats. Apparently, no one knows about the 97 page FDA report regarding dogs that have had severe medical problems and death after eating the treats most frequently from gastrointestinal bleeding. I am a Pediatric Triage Registered Nurse. I still can't seem to get anyone to listen to me, so please look at the following websites.

It's not just Chicken Jerky Treats but also Duck Jerky, & Sweet Potato Jerky. The AVMA posted information regarding this. Who reads it except the parents of the pets who have died or who are dying? I have a Waggin’ case number, but the insurance company will not cover one single penny of the medical care. Please put this info on your Facebook pages and share it. This is the only way to help other people’s pets and the hearts and expenses of their parents. Our vet clinic will not do anything without the money upfront. I guess Isabella will die now because the most money we could borrow was $10K this week.

The Surgeons only looked at her surgery. No one did any lab work on her for 4 days after her surgery. Once they did the lab work, they defined a ton of life threatening medical problems including a pulmonary embolus and continuous anemia with some continued bleeding. I told them about the respiratory distress last night, but no one focused on my observation. I told them about the collection of fluid in her abdomen 20 hours before they decided it looked bad and she needed emergency surgery. This is my baby. I notice everything.

According to media, reports based on FDA information gained through FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests, the three most commonly affected products are Waggin' Train (a product of Nestle Purina PetCare), Canyon Creek Ranch (a product of Nestle Purina PetCare) and Milo's Kitchen (a product of Del Monte Corp). The FDA's alert has been expanded to include Chicken Jerky Treats, Duck Jerky Treats and Sweet Potato Jerky Treats. Based on very preliminary information, it appears that this problem is more likely to occur in small-breed dogs that are fed these treats regularly and/or in amounts exceeding the label-recommended frequency or amount. However, dogs of all sizes and various breeds have been affected, and in some dogs illness was reportedly associated with consumption of one treat.

Luckily, my husband found this site. We, as doggie mommies and daddies, want to buy our babies treats. We are thinking we are doing something nice, but it was killing our babies. We need to let the stores know that if they continue to sell the product, we will not shop there. Boycott the stores. The government is not going to do something - we have to. Write letter and make phone calls. My babies were having a lot of gas and the little ones did not want to eat. When she got me up three times in one night to go to the bathroom, I knew something was wrong. Thank God I did not give it to them all the time. I threw the stuff out. I am going to get a dehydrator and make my own treats. They are doing good. Boycott, boycott, boycott.

I purchased my new puppy around Thanksgiving last year (2011). That same day, I carried him to my vet for his initial checkup and to get him in the system. All was good. A healthy 2.3lbs baby boy! I immediately stocked up on supplies and toys. It had been a while since I had a pup, so I was excited to see the Waggin Train line of treats. I picked up a couple of suitable bags. I always (until last week) pick up 1 to 2 bags of Waggin Train treats because when he won't eat his regular can food, he will take his treats. Since my first vet visit, I have spent close to $1,000.00 on this pup (purchase price of $200.00 included).

The younger he was, the worse his symptoms were. He was vomiting even after drinking water. He was lethargic and kept loose stools. On at least 2 occasions, the vet suspected some type of worms even though tests were negative. On another, he assumed my pup may just have a very sensitive tummy and suggested giving him a little pepto. After many visits and calls to vet over the last year, I have my answer. The treats! Since last week, he eats his regular food now. Stools are firmer and regular, and he doesn't burp and cough up stuff. Thankfully, they took this off the shelf or many of us would have kept making our pups sick unknowingly.

I have been buying my dogs Waggin’ Train Treats since June; they loved them. In July, my older dog had the runs really bad and was becoming dehydrated. I brought her to the vet and then the animal hospital medicine and care; she was okay for a while. I slowly brought her back to a normal diet. I started giving her the Waggin’ Train Treats again, and here she is sick again. I was unaware of the problems with the product and did not put 2 and 2 together when the vet had told me it has been from bacteria in the treats that I have been giving them. I called the company and all they can say is “We are sorry, but our products were recalled, but no harm.” Really now. I would really like to see them eat them and get sick, and we can say “Sorry, no harm.”

Last week, my little baby Johnny ate his favorite treats like always with his sisters. In the past, I've noticed them having either the runs or a stomachache and gas, so I started eliminating different things (food and different treats). On the 9th, I left with my daughter. An hour later, I got a call from my boyfriend who was clearly distraught. My 5-year-old teacup chihuahua was found on his side - unresponsive and rigid. He ran across the street to his mother's house, who put a cold compress on him, rubbed him and put sugar in his mouth. After a few minutes, he was back and was confused and scared. I brought him to the hospital where they took his blood. The doctor said he had a seizure and he did not know why. All his blood work came back normal. I know it was the treats and I'm lucky he's alive. I really don't know what I would do if I lost him.

On December 30th, 2012, my companion of 11 years passed away in my arms, gasping for air looking into my eyes to say goodbye to me. I will not ever forget that moment ever. River was more than a companion; he was a part of this family like a blood relative. I only will state facts here as hard as it is for me to talk about this for it was only 2 weeks ago today he passed. River died from kidney failure. He was fine only a week before, playing, running around and having his everyday treat.

I also have two other small dogs who also eat the same treats. The name of the treats I have been feeding my dogs for the last 15 months is Cannon Creek and Waggin Train Jerky. I did not know there was a recall until I went into my local pet food supplier where I buy all my animal products to find out there was a recall and the only information was the product will not be sold in the U.S. ever again. Well, I thought my heart was going to stop when I found out. I cannot say for 100% certainty that my dog died from these treats, but there was a study done by the FDA that found so far 300+ dogs have died from kidney failure due to the consumption of these treats over an 18-month period. I will never know if River died from consumption. Now I will have to live with the pain of knowing this information about this recall for these products. Please have your pets checked if they have consumed these treats. You might be saving their lives.

I purchased a small bag of these Waggin Train brand dried chicken strips from my local Ingles supermarket with no prior knowledge of their notorious reputation. I gave my chocolate lab mix pup two of the treats the first day. That night, he jumped out of bed and threw up a slimy, yellow mess. I didn't make a connection to the treats until I gave him another one a couple of days later. Within four hours, he was vomiting again the same slimy yellow mixture with some material that looked like the partially digested treat. Since then, he has thrown up three more times, and now, his muzzle and lips on one side of his mouth have become red, raw and inflamed. This is an ongoing condition, so I don't know how badly he's ultimately going to fare. After reading some of the testimony from other dog owners, I'm very concerned.

I adopted my dog about 1 1/2 month ago, and when I was shopping for treats as a first time dog owner, Waggin' Train seemed tasty for dogs. Peanut butter and jerky, apples wrapped in bacon - yummy! As soon as I started feeding them to my little girl, she had soft stool that stunk something fierce, and she vomited twice (once after being a bad girl and getting in to a whole bag while Dad had his back turned). Thankfully, that time she was going to the vet to get fixed and get her shots. She kept getting her stool checked for worms and nothing other than that seemed to be off. I thought it was her food getting her sick, but even after switching it, she still had soft stool. It was never to the point where it slowed her down or raised terrible concern.

Then, I stumble online and find all these reviews about Waggin' Train, and I immediately threw the treats out. The changes were instantaneous! Within two days of being off the treats (and she only had one or two a day), her stool was completely normal again and she is eating more than ever!

I thank God my girl Shenzi was strong enough to combat any possible contaminants in her food and no further damage was done. My heart goes out to all poor souls who have lost loved ones from these treats, and I want to thank you for sharing your story online so I could save my dog - and my roommate's dog who often got the treats as well - from a terrible fate!

She didn’t want to play and was very depressed. So the third day she ate little more chicken and still wanted to eat grass. She didn’t want to drink, but we did get her to. She still had the poops, but now blood was in it. Later that night she wouldn’t eat or drink anything. So, I took her back to the vet today with the bag of treats and my vet said that she thought they took them out of stores and that many dogs been very sick from them!

She ran blood-work which came back fine. She was still dehydrated, so she was given more fluids and some pills to help her tummy. They wanted to keep her to keep an eye on her just because of all the complaints about this treat with kidney and liver failure and to see if they can get her to eat anything. I hope this day is the last of this, but after reading some people stories, I hope my love is going to recover and be herself. From now on I will make her treats. Last week, I was shopping and saw Waggin' Train Duck Jerky treats on sale - thinking nothing of it, I bought a package. I gave my 70 lb. Husky mix two or three treats in the afternoon. She woke me up unusually early the next morning acting like she needed to go outside, so I let her out and she had diarrhea. An hour later, she needed to go outside again and the diarrhea was even worse. She was uninterested in her food but drinking water normally. She continued to be sick for the next two days but has thankfully recovered.

I am completely convinced the Waggin' Train Duck treats were the cause of my dog's illness. They were the only thing in her diet that changed. She is always supervised outside, and there wasn't anything in the house she could have gotten into. She is an otherwise healthy 3-year-old with no prior health problems.

I'm glad my pup was one of the lucky ones who only suffered moderate sickness. I hate to think what could have happened if I had continued to feed them to her. I am retaining the rest of the package just in case something more serious develops later on, although she seemed to just need to get them out of her system. This company does not care about animal welfare. The duck treats are just as dangerous as the Chicken Jerky. Do not purchase Waggin' Train treats of any variety.

My family had no clue of this recall till after our mother had passed away on June 27, 2012. Our mother has a low immune system but she had it under control and was considering her several health problems she battled over years. She was 56 years old and, sadly, left behind her baby puppy, Lizzy. Our mother fed her toy poodle these treats all the time. As any pet owner, her dog was treated just as she treated us children. Back in December 2011, our mother had become sick. We had taken her to many doctors who could not find a reason for the sickness outside her several illnesses she had already had.

In the past 3 months, we sat frustrated and helpless as we watched our mother suddenly not able to do much but sleep. If she was awake, she complained of pain and her stomach hurting. In the last two months, she became so ill she was on oxygen around the clock. Suddenly, she couldn't even get around without assistance. After her death, my sister told my family of the recall. We didn't really think anything of it since we didn't hear anything about it.

My sister took my mother's dog who was sick also, peeing all over and losing her stools, sleeping nonstop. My sister also started not feeling well, so she looked into this recall and immediately stopped feeding her pets these treats (which she also has 2 others who immediately puked 10 minutes after eating the treats). They all seem to be feeling better upon stopping this product.

Please, warn anyone with a weak immune system and the elderly of the dangers this product presents not only to their pets but to their own health. Lizzy was a picky eater. She refused to eat anything beef and this was the only treat she would eat. Our mother handled these treats all day long. The day prior to my mom's death, she had a bad stomach ache. It was so bad she couldn't make it to the bathroom in time and ended up losing her bowels all over. We can't help but wonder if these treats are the cause of my mother's illness and contributed to her death. My sister had never bought her dogs this brand of treats due to how expensive they are. This is the first time her dogs came in contact with these treats and they immediately got sick.

This product should be pulled from shelves everywhere. I hope people take this seriously and believe us, that this is no joke. Please, if your loved one is sick, don't be afraid to bring this matter up to their doctor and get them treated before it's too late.

Waggin Train dog treats - Dog treats made my pet extremely sick, vomiting, diarrhea and weak. I picked up a package of 45 or 3.53lbs at a big box store, it only took one. My vet is affiliated with UF. He sent a sample off to University of Florida School of Veterinary School for testing to find out why.

I was unaware that there was a recall of this product. We have been using these treats (Waggin Train Big Blast Jerky Treats) regularly for the past several months. My Brittany loved them; however, right now she is at the vet hospital with pancreatitis. After reading other posts, I am definitely wondering if these treats may be the cause. I think the company should be required to at least provide possible side effects on the packaging. Dog-loving consumers are being lured to buy the product based on the packaging, which claims that this is a healthy and wholesome dog treat, when, in fact, the company knows that it has caused pets to become sick and die. My vet bill so far is $600 and Britt, my best friend, has only been there a few hours. You can't put a price on a treasured pet, so I will do whatever it takes to make her well again; but the company certainly should have a legal responsibility to compensate the consumer for the damage their product is causing to many pets throughout the county.

I was feeding Waggin’ Train Chicken Jerky Treats to my pug. Around November 2011, I began to notice things just weren't right with her. She had become lethargic, had loose bowel movements, and seemed to drink a lot more water than usual. When she started to not want to eat her food, I knew something was wrong. I cook everything she eats, and give her no store bought dog food, so the Waggin’ Train Treats were the only thing she was given besides freshly prepared foods.

Just on a hunch, I decided to Google search Waggin’ Train Treats, and there it was, the FDA warnings. I had not previously heard of anything regarding dog treats made in China. Thank goodness I tried never to give her more than one a day. And even though she started to not want her food, she would always want the jerky treat. She seems to have recovered from the symptoms she had. Her energy level and alertness is back. I am hoping that there is no permanent kidney damage. The sensible thing to do would be to buy a food dehydrator and make the chicken treats for her myself.

Just last week, I bought my dog the Waggin' train treats and fed my dog 3 treats over the course of 3 days. Now, he's not eating and had diarrhea for two days. He still appears hungry and looking for food; however, whatever he eats, it comes out within a couple of hours. He isn't lethargic nor weak but hopefully we were able to catch this in time before it happens. The only thing different is the dog treats.

Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Treats - I purchased these treats at Hannaford Supermarket in West Peabody in July of 2011. I gave her one treat before she started acting unusually. She was in and out of the pray stance (a sign a dog is in severe abdominal distress). For a week, she wouldn't eat and was very thirsty and lethargic. She kept trying to squat, I wasn't sure if it was her bowels or urination until one afternoon, she had bloody stools. She had only had 3 Jerky treats total. I immediately put her on diet of organic ground beef and rice and she recovered on her own. But looking back, she started that pray stance within hours of ingesting first treat.

I took them back to the store and told them of what had happened and that they should tell the company. That was July of last year. Since then, I have noticed other dogs suffering and many dying of the same symptoms. I have contacted Waggin Train/Purina and they just deny their negligence of the treat being tainted. I am filing a complaint before any other dogs suffer and die from these products.

Our 9-month old Australian Shepherd puppy died in September 2011. He had routine care from our experienced veterinarian since we brought him home as a 7-week old puppy. He was healthy and energetic. Once he aged a few more months, we gave him Waggin Train chicken jerky as treats. He became very lethargic and uninterested in his usual activities. Immediately, we took him to the veterinarian. After a visit to that office and a specialist's office, they found he was in rapid kidney failure but could not figure out why. Chance passed away overnight in the vet's kennel, hooked up to an IV. We believe the treats were the culprit to his agonizing, unexplainable, heart-wrenching death. Our 2-year old daughter had lost her best friend... to pet treats.

I just lost my wonderful Westie yesterday and best friend to these contaminated treats by Waggin Train and Canyon Creek made by Nestle Purina. My dog had been sick over the last 4 to 6 weeks with stomach issues (especially vomiting, some diarrhea) which now appear to have been caused by these tainted treats. These are treats that I have used before and had some at home as I have 3 dogs. My Westie loved these treats. I too liked them because I thought they were really U.S. manufactured in South Carolina. The back of the labeling on the package sure does read as if these products are properly made and prepared with the utmost care and attention for your dogs. The jerky is even made from free range chickens. Wow, that's better than the chicken we buy for our family! I only want the best for my dogs. That is what I thought I was getting from these treats. Of course, I was wrong, wronged and duped!

My regular vet ran several logical tests but came up clueless as to what was causing his lethargy, lack of eating and vomiting. He thought it was colitis so we tried antibiotics. That made my Max feel no better, even worse. He was then tested for Addison's Disease. Nope, that was not it as well. Our Max lost about 4 or 5 pounds which for a normal 20 pound dog, is a lot of weight to lose so quickly (a 200 person who suddenly lost that % of weight would drop to about 150 160 pounds over that time, obviously not normal). Of course, I thought that this is cancer or some other very serious disease like that. Other blood and urine tests proved negative, but Max was still not right. However, his heart rate and pulse were now quite low.

After about 3 weeks, it looked like we got the issue under control with a round of oral steroids. He started to eat again and had more energy. He remained quite frail in terms of body weight, but was happier. Then last week, my Westie Max ate a chicken jerky that fell on the floor in our pantry. After about 3 days, Max appeared to have relapsed and presented with lethargy and vomiting. He was getting progressively worse by the day. I decided to once again look at the FDA website for dog food recalls. I looked at the site about 3-4 weeks ago and found no wet canned or dry food that was fed to my dogs. We have been making our own wet food for about 6 years since the last big recall of dog food.

However, on Thursday (June 7, 2012), I decided to look at the FDA site again for dog food recalls. This time, I started to see comments on blogs about a serious problem with dog food treats. To my absolute shock and disgust, I found that Waggin Train Jerky Treats or Tenders (Nestle Purina) and Canyon Creek Ranch Jerky Treats or Tenders (Nestle Purina) have been tied to contaminated chicken jerky pet treats made in China. As mentioned earlier, these are treats that I have purchased several times in the past and have always had some on hand since last Christmas. My Westie especially liked these treats.

I began to piece the info together with the timing of him ingesting these treats, his physical distress, the inability of my regular vet and another very specialized vet to make a confident diagnosis of the situation with the reports of a mysterious illness affecting at least 600 dogs in the US. The mysterious illness is possibly (I say definitely) tied to chicken jerky pet treats made in China. I am now confident that I found out what was the cause of my Westie Max being so ill. I discussed the report with my regular vet. He heard some reports about it, but I got the impression he knew little about it. I then brought my Max to a state of the art specialty hospital that handles every complex case from dogs to cats to rabbits to lizards. They too seem to know little about the report.

However, this time, I brought in the reports and showed them. I said this is the cause of my Westie's problem. I am convinced! Sure enough, after about 16 hours of IV fluids to try to flush out the toxins from his little body, numerous tests and close minute by minute monitoring by the Critical Care Team, my Max suffered a grand mal seizure. The toxins permeated into his brain. His liver could no longer properly filter his blood due to the unnatural toxins from these treats that have now completely poisoned his system. As a result, his brain had begun to shut down, his heart rate dropped to very low levels. My wife and I received a phone call at 5:30AM that Max had a seizure and to be prepared.

About 60 minutes later, we got another call that his situation was gravely bad and that it looked like he will make it beyond an hour. We got dressed and said we will be there in about 45 minutes. I told the doctor to please call us if he passes before we get there. About 20 minutes later, the doctor called and said that our little guy passed. As my family and I sit here in shock, I believe that someone or something must be punished for this criminal and negligent act. These manufacturing companies, the retailers who should be proactively removing these deadly products from their shelves and the FDA, must be held accountable and brought to the legal woodshed.

In the meantime, the public must be made aware of this horrific situation and the irresponsible inaction on the part of several big pet companies especially Nestle Purina and the FDA for not mandating that these products be recalled and immediately pulled from the shelves. The result: A perfectly healthy, happy dog and family member is now dead. What recourse do we have? There has to be something and it must be strong, fair and immediate for the family victims hurt by these cheap, made in China manufacturer sellouts. These overseas manufacturing practices must stop now!

Anytime I give the treats to her, she becomes very thirsty, sleepy, and often has diarrhea afterwards. I stopped giving her the treats recently and she has been a lot happier. I have noticed the diarrhea went away and she drinks her regular amount of water again.

I am very dissatisfied and upset because dog treats should be just that, a dog treat. The Waggin' Train website states: Waggin' Train Chicken Jerky Tenders are a wholesome, healthy treat for your dog. They are made with premium chicken breast filets and have only two main ingredients: natural chicken filets, and glycerin (a natural preservative to retain moisture and texture). These high-protein, low-fat treats are slow-baked to seal in the natural flavors for a healthy and wholesome snack. Chicken jerky treats are popular because they are a high-quality, great-tasting treat that dogs love.

This is not an accurate statement. They are unhealthy for dogs and have caused many incidents for pet owners. I believe the company should recall all products and the FDA should require an investigation.

It's Tuesday, May 8, 2012, now at 1:20pm on here! I was on the phone with Jamie today. I had given my dog Kofi (Blue Weimaraner) some of these treats - Waggin' Train Wholesome Chicken Jerky Tenders. I really don't buy any treats for our dogs due to they are large dogs and the cost of the treats. My husband was at Sam's and bought them on Saturday, May 5, 2012 (morning, EST). We thought it's real chicken, and we are very careful on what we give our dogs.

After giving Kofi a treat a few hours later, she had head tremors. (I'm not saying it was from the treat.) This was Saturday, May 5, 2012. Not knowing what happened, I took 3 videos of her. Then Sunday morning, I thought I'd give her another treat (1). My husband saw her head tremors after, still on Sunday morning, May 6, 2012. And he made her (Kofi, the dog ) get up and move.

Yes, bad me. I did give her another, still not knowing what was causing this; and she had 2 more tremors at 3:30pm and 4:45pm EST, Sunday, May 6, 2012. I had posted the video and asked if anyone knew what would cause this. Later, I went back due to I was worried about Kofi and posted the name of the treats (which sites I did look up and I read the whole thing. I'm a little in confusion by some of what I had read. Just a little.).

I had given her, not even thinking it was them. It was the only different thing she had. Oh my, the info and the links that were posted due to this treat.. Also, just to let you know, Kofi is just fine of course. No more treats. And she's a happy, healthy dog. Again, I'm unsure if it were these treats. But my thoughts are yes, it was from them and no, I am not a vet.

But very happy Kofi is feeling her self again. I? her... I told this all to Jamie from this company. She was very nice and happy to hear that Kofi is doing fine and would refund the money for the treats. I also explained to her the phone number on the bag (1-866- 283-2923) did work for me. I kept getting a private residence. I tried 3 times. The female was very nice about it. (Another friend tried this phone number, and it worked for her?)

I tried to contact this company by the form on their site, which you were unable to send out? So I printed it out and also told Jamie of this too. The phone #1 I found on their FB page. "Visit our FAQs to learn more or call us at 800-982-2954 to speak with us directly about your concerns. We're here Monday - Friday, 7am - 7pm CT" worked.

Now, how to dispose of them, so no other animal will get them just in case we got a bad batch! It has: UPC # 07020 77740, Lot # P1CA5915B, Best By: 081913.

About a year ago, I saw the Waggin Train treats in Sam's and decided to purchase for my precious dog Turbo. I started giving him one a day, and he loved them. A few months went by and I took him to the vet for a routine procedure and was notified that there seemed to be something wrong with his bloodwork and they wanted to run more tests.

After over $600 worth of test and medicine, they still could not tell me what was wrong with him. He was put on chicken and rice menu for two weeks and seemed to be getting better. I slowly began to give him his regular food and he seemed to be getting better. I had not seen the write ups on the treats and I began to give them to him again. At Christmas 2011, he started getting worse and I had to take him back to vet and was told he was in kidney failure. I happen to see a link to problems with chicken treats and read the report. My baby had every symptom on the list. I informed my vet and took him the report.

Unfortunately, I stopped too late to save my Turbo. I had to have him put to sleep the day after Christmas 2011. It was heartbreaking and like losing a child. I filed a complaint with the FDA and with the producer of Waggin Train but got not response from either. I cautioned everyone I knew about buying the treats that they could kill your beloved pet. There needs to be better control over what goes in our pets' food just like our food. If you buy the treat, you are doing it at your own risk of poisoning your pets.

I bought the Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Treats to give to my Pomeranian and dachshund, and so far, I haven't had any problems with them and they have eaten the whole bag in about 3 days. Now, after reading these stories, I am constantly watching my dogs to show signs of distress. I am hoping and praying that nothing goes wrong with them, as the dachshund already has issues with his stomach and such and the Pomeranian is an older dog anyway. And I thought I was buying something that was all natural and supposedly good for them. I guess I was severely wrong! I guess now I have nothing left to do but wait and see if my babies are going to be okay after eating this product.

I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit. My dog became severely ill after consuming Waggin Train Treats, two strips the first day at separate intervals. She weighs 33 lbs. A few hours after consumption, she had symptoms of being sick: stomach gurgling, eating grass, drinking lots of water. At first, I thought it must be the treats. Only change in her diet.

The next day, I foolishly disregarded my instinct and fed her two more treats. That evening, she displayed the same aforementioned symptoms, and started urinating in the house. Thankfully, I forgot about the treats because I stored them in the refrigerator, and did not feed her any more because my canine remained sick for one week. This past Saturday, April 21, 2012, with the Jerky's stored in the refrigerator, I noticed the bag and gave her two more treats. Same symptoms. Odd, I thought, this was the second time she urinated in the house. I mentally noted she was not eating her usual Blue Buffalo, and other prescription dog food.

I noticed the bag in the refrigerator, and placed them in the freezer for permanent, never touch again storage. These things were the only change in her diet, and thus, I was done giving them to her. I was upset, and thought, just in case, I'll keep them. Who knows? I'll send them off to a lab for testing. Bold thought for my newly frozen crappy treats. That night, I googled recalled items to check on another subject. One of the first hits was for Waggin Train Chicken Jerky treats. I thought there's no way that this packaged brand could be sitting in my freezer: I opened the freezer, and there they were, the exact brand, name, made in China label, and yes, the same chicken flavor. I felt the bag, and noticed it was practically full, as if new. Good. **. Yes, I was fluctuating between shock and anger.

Since opening the bag, I recalled she consumed a total of 10 strips over the course of eight days. Only 10 strips. I refused to give her more than two after the first day, because, well, I have no idea why. Something just told me to not give her more than two. Odd, I know. Right now, her stomach is not gurgling. She is well hydrated, and last night was fed a frozen organically-grown uncooked sirloin steak. She was hungry, kept it down, and because of its frozen state, ate it very slowly. I grabbed the idea from a raw dog food's website. Based on her symptoms, I felt she needed some real, untouched, human grade meat that hopefully would push out any bad junk in her system. I didn't care if she pooped or peed in the house. I wanted the recalled "treats" out of her system, while retaining some semblance of nutrients. No vomiting. That was good. No urinating in the middle of the night. She slept very well. And no stomach gurgling.

The next morning, (this morning actually) at 4:00 a.m., we went for our walk. She ran around, had the runs, ran around some more, had more runs. I was happy. Good, I thought. This steak was clearing out her system. It's steady in protein, no fillers, and it was the size of my fist. When we returned home, she consumed more fresh, three times-filtered-water. Her energy level was and is up. And I thought today is the first morning since purchasing the "treats" that she did not eat grass.

This afternoon, she chased my cat. She is doing better. Sleeping a lot, but doing better. I am assuming her liver profiles are high, and that her albumin levels are off. I am giving her constant hydration, and have left the bathroom faucet running so all animals can access fresh running water through its trickle. My dog is one of the few lucky ones. I have taken her to the vet, who ran tests and confirmed my assumptions. But, her profiles were not as bad as most of the reports on this site, and other websites. Constant water, a neutral diet, another frozen steak perhaps in a few weeks.

Right now, it's boiled chicken and rice. Sorry, Bee-Bee. You'll grow to love chicken and rice. She is alive and functioning well. She is exhibiting no signs of sickness, yet, is resting a lot. She has been given filtered water everyday, and some plain organic yogurt to get intestinal cultures into her system. She has zero appetite. Her eyes are clear. Her stomach is calm. I am just glad you, my dog, Bee-Bee, are okay, and again, I feel fortunate that she is one of the lucky few to have escaped this arsenic/anti-freeze poisoning fiasco. Thank you, Waggin Train Treats.

Note: These treats have, not only jerky in them, but a white plastic like substance that binds the jerky together. Please test these "treats" in a lab for arsenic or anti-freeze components. I told my local grocer about the problem. He said he is bond by corporate to keep them on his shelves. I said it. I told him in good conscience and that if anyone else came into his store to complain, perhaps he might reconsider keeping them on his shelves. I mentioned that since he now had this information, that technically if anyone else purchased the bags of treats, and their canine became sick or died, he and his store could be held liable but, again, I wished him the best, and departed the store.

These treats contain enough poison to kill a small dog (under 15 pounds), and to minimally sicken a 30-lb young dog. My dog has never been fed any sort of treats until I purchased these on April 12, 2012. Sorry for the rambling.

It was very, very messy to have to clean up all day. I even switched their dog food twice thinking it was their dog food or maybe they had gotten into something. I happened to be online one day and read a story on how Waggin Train was making a lot of dogs very sick and/or dying. Our healthy 3-year old dog, Aja, became sick with diarrhea on April 13th. We kept an eye on her for a few days but then noticed blood in her stool on April 16th so we took her to the emergency vet. They took x-rays to check for any obstructions (none) and did blood work that showed she was dehydrated. She was given a subcutaneous fluid injection for the dehydration, medication for the diarrhea and a diet of chicken or lean beef with rice for the next three days. We then noticed a few days later that she was having some leakage when sleeping (not urine), so I was googling the subcutaneous fluids when I saw the link for this website. I was in shock. I had just bought a bag of the "Yam Good" treats (yams wrapped with chicken) two weeks prior. She only had 2 treats in a two week time frame (one a week for two weeks), one of which was right before this instance of diarrhea.

I never would have thought a treat would do this. We are so upset! I am sure now that this is what caused her illness. We have a follow-up visit with our vet today. She seems to be okay but we are praying that there is no damage after reading all these posts. I am so sorry for those that have lost their babies and am appalled that these treats are still on the shelves!

We have a sick puppy from chicken/duck jerky treats. Our mini Yorkie is not even 2 years old and for the last 8-9 months, she has declined severely health-wise. She is lethargic all the time. She can't play for more than a couple of seconds before she starts gagging. And a couple of months ago, we had to take her to the vet on an emergency visit due to her not eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, etc. She had to be put on IV fluids immediately due to dehydration. She was shaking, cold, and couldn't stay awake. We were terrified that we were going to lose her then. They sent her home on antibiotics and rice diet. We had to slowly introduce food back to her, but it was almost a week before she really showed any improvement in her appetite.

Wal-Mart, Sam's and Costco won't pull these products from the shelves because they say the FDA hasn't told them to do so. Even with all these testimonials, they still won't. Maybe if they have a pet that goes through it, (I hope it doesn't happen to anyone's baby), they will pull them from the shelves. Waggin’ Train, you should be ashamed for looking out for the almighty dollar rather than the health of our beloved pets. They are a part of our families. I'm so very sorry some of you have already lost yours. Thanks to my neighbor for telling me about it yesterday or I wouldn't have known. Then I found this site. Wow! What an eye opener. China is going to be the downfall of our nation and no one gives a crap! Not just with our pets, but look at everything you pick up or buy - made in China! Enough already! Recently, I became aware of other complaints by other pet owners of pets being sick with similar symptoms and some dying. Accordingly, the FDA has not issued a recall as the culprit (toxin) in these treats has not been identified yet. My dog is still alive. I stopped these treats over three weeks ago; however, the permanent damage this has done to him will be determined by my vet. I am appalled that this company is well aware of this issue and has done nothing but imply that pet owners overfed their pets. This is not right. Something has to be done and Waggin Train needs to be held accountable for these sick, dying and dead pets.

On Monday morning, another one of our pom started getting ill by vomiting so we rushed him to the vet's and they put him in ICU. After three days, we brought him home weak but okay. At one point when the girl was asking me questions about what I thought was wrong, the topic came up about was she eating. I said I think so and every night when I come home, I give them one of those supposedly all natural chicken jerky treats. She said, “It isn't the Waggin’ Train is it?” I said, “Yeah, why?” She said the Waggin Train treats have been poisoning the dogs and all the vets have been getting dogs in with these symptoms. At one time, they were recalled but then the FDA approved them to continue sales.

The vet said he has only had one dog die so far. But if this is one vet, what about all the vets in the country? So now I have a rising bill so far of $700 due to my dog having pancreatitis and having to stay at the vet until Monday so they can run IV's. These treats are coming from China. It is just another example of them screwing us.

Well, the vet called this morning. She passed away last night. They said a normal enzyme count is around a hundred and hers were over a thousand. Oh well, at least now, she isn't sick anymore.

It took about two days for him to get back to normal. Still not realizing it was the treats that had made him sick, we ran through a bunch of the tricks he does and I rewarded him with these Chicken Jerky treats within an hour he was vomiting and having diarrhea again, at that point I knew it had to be the treats. I still have the bag, I was so pissed I almost threw them in the trash, but then I realized that I should get them tested and have them, in case I need to be able to prove that it was the treats that were making him sick. Several tests were run, antibiotics were given, and a follow up would be done the next day for more tests. Initial diagnosis was kidney failure.

After a week of more tests, this diagnosis was confirmed. I was floored. How could this be? She has never been sick a day in her life. She is an indoor dog and gets good exercise. She is older but not senior and was still very active and not showing any signs of age or slowing down. It was only yesterday that a friend brought it to my attention that the dog treats I had been feeding her for the last couple months (one treat every week or so) was in the media for causing renal and kidney failure in the dogs eating them.

I feel awful knowing that I have given her these treats, which has cost her so dearly. She is declining every day, and I was advised by the vet that she will continue to decline until she has passed. There is nothing to fix it. All we can do is feed her a specialty dog food to try and keep her eating and prepare for her end. How awful!

I’ve been reading a lot about Waggin’ Train because of a link on Facebook. About a year ago, I had a Boston terrier, got her as soon as she stopped drinking milk and she was very healthy. At about 1 year old, she was big enough to feed her treats. About a week after feeding her chicken jerky in pieces throughout the day, maybe twice a day she started having seizures, peeing on herself while sleeping and vomiting all in one day. I took her to the vet and they said she was fine. Still worried, I kept a close eye on her, still feeding her the treats, not even realizing that that was it.

More seizures, blood in her stool and constant peeing and drinking. I started monitoring her water, making it less likely to pee while sleeping, "didn’t help much" and feeding her dry dog food with no treats. Back to the vet a week after the first visit, they were still no help, just giving me antibiotics and telling me to contact them if things get worse, like they weren’t that bad now (that made me mad because I know I had to pay them, something was wrong and they gave me no answers, just a bill).

About 3 days after, I’d say 10pm; we had to take her to a different 24 hour vet because she had a really bad seizure, peed on herself and did not want to get out of it, shaking a lot, nonstop. They told me she was very dehydrated and gave her an IV and said she would be fine. About a week or so, after her poop hardened up, I started feeding her the treats again because I though she just had a flu or something. About 1 month of the same peeing all the time and seizures, I woke up and she had passed away. It wasn’t till about March of 2012, I read about Waggin’ Train. I looked into it and all of my dog’s problems match to the treats problems. So please don’t make my mistake and kill your dog by treating them with Waggin’ Train and never buy this product again. I know I never will. Thank you for reading and I hope this has helped you save a dog’s life.

They conducted many tests that showed her liver was enlarged and abnormal so they performed an ultrasound/biopsy.

We are still waiting on the labs to come back on it now. The only change in the diet or anything in her life was the introduction of these treats. So, we looked them up and found this webpage and many other complaints. I called the company and filed a complaint but they basically told me what is posted on their webpage that the FDA findings are inconclusive and they would not be recalling at this time. They did take all my info and the info off the package and about our dog’s condition. Our dog is still in the hospital and is on IV and antibiotics and we are waiting anxiously to find out her prognosis but the vet didn't seem hopeful. I am outraged that these treats are being sold to unsuspecting pet owners who are only trying to reward their pets and treat them like they should be treated.

It’s amazing we allow anything we eat to be produced in China. It’s pretty obvious their standards are not up to par and they only care about making money not our health or their own citizens for that matter. I just saw a dateline episode about the Chinese only buying American made products for their babies to consume because of fears of their children being poisoned, but we let them poison our pets here? It makes no sense to me at all. The FDA needs to step up and shut their importing of products down.

For the past 3 weeks, I'm trying to find out how my dog Sandy's health went downhill so fast. She died after the bloody stools, everyday with meds from the vet. Something triggered the auto-immune sickness she had around the holidays. She would run to wake me up at 3AM to go out for a treat, I would walk her for a half mile everyday in the summer. Tomorrow, we will have the Waggin Train drummets tested by AGR and Marketing. I've only seen one other lady here had sick dogs from the drummets, I hope they made it. This happened so fast, even after blood transfusion.

I have been purchasing these treats for my 5 year old Shi Tzu Chandler. For 4 years, I have been giving him one treat a day. 4 months ago, I noticed him drinking excess amounts of water and also losing weight. I took him to the vet and found out he was diagnosed with kidney failure. After one month of force feeding him and trying holistic medication, he was put to sleep on New Year’s Day.

I know in my heart his passing and it had everything to do with these treats. I am still hurting from his loss and I strongly believe these treats need to be removed from stores. When I go to Costco, I noticed they are still selling these treats and they make me sick. I miss my dog so much and nothing seems to take away the pain of his loss in my life.

1 year and 8 months ago, I gave Abbey, my precious Lakeland terrier, Waggin Train Jerky Treats (the duck flavor as she was allergic to chicken). I purchased it from Wal-Mart. I was leaving for the day, so I left some out for her. I came home that evening, and she was lethargic. She was having massive bloody diarrhea. She was treated with antibiotics and meds for nausea and diarrhea. She seemed to recover. I googled and found all the people writing about the Waggin Train Treats that had made their dogs ill.

Then a year later, she was drinking a lot of water. I took her to the vet. She was found to have renal failure. We treated her with BP meds, but a few months later, she became lethargic and weak. Her renal labs were sky high. My poor baby didn't respond to treatment and passed away this week. I know in my heart it all began with those Waggin Train duck treats. So those of you who had dogs that seemed to get better, watch for a recurrence.

I was buying these treats for my pup for a few months and he loved them. I am one of the lucky ones, I guess, because he never got sick. When I got my puppy, I swore to never feed him anything made in China because of all the recalls in the past years. I check every label. When I checked the Waggin' Train label (I did not have my reading glasses on), I saw in big letters “made” and then either “North” or “South Carolina”. I didn't notice the small "for" in between “made” and “Carolina”. One day, my 12-year old looked at the package and said, "Mom, these are made in China.”

The markings were tiny and over to the left of the package. Being a customs broker, I was so angry. That was a true violation of country of origin markings. I immediately emailed the company with my complaint, but never heard back. I threw out the rest of the treats and put the bag to the side to take to work and contacted a customs agent. Later that day, I noticed the bag was torn into little shreds all over the house. My pup had got a hold of it. Unfortunately, I never followed up on this and just stopped buying the product. My heart goes out to all who have lost your pets because of this product. The company should be held responsible. I love my dog and would be outraged if anything happened to him because of this product.

We purchased these dog treats at Meijer in Madison Heights, Michigan on the first week of March and have been giving them to our 7-month-old jack rat terrier. On March 20, he went into kidney failure and nearly died. $870 later in vet bills and still being treated, we are thankful to have caught it in time. He acted like he was toxic, swaying like a drunken sailor and couldn't even stand up. I brought him to the vet, and his BUN and creatinine were both elevated. His body temperature was low, and he was in renal failure. Do not feed these to your pets!

I've fed these to both of my Shih Tzus for years. They seemed like the perfect treat, chicken wrapped around a fruit or vegetable or a flavored biscuit. A year and a half ago, my beloved Shih Tzu Louie went from perfectly healthy to dead in 5 days. We blamed it on pancreatitis and figured since he was 9 years old, his body just failed him. We never had a clue about these treats. I noticed recently that Shih Tzu #2, who eats two of these each day is unable to eat much. He has become real picky about his food and I mentioned to my husband he acts like he was poisoned. I stopped buying canned food and started making my own with turkey, rice, oats vegetables and fruits. He usually loves this, but hasn't eaten for the last three days.

If I lose this dog too, it will devastate me. I'm still not over the death of Louie and to know that someone was responsible for this just sickens me. Is it possible that we could file a class action suit? I'm so angry about this. These products need to be pulled immediately and we, as a country, need to return to manufacturing our own products and quit importing them from a toxic environment.

I got these in a large bag of dog food as a free sample. I never heard of them or seen them before then. I gave these to my 68 lb pit bull/German shepherd mix for about a week straight, I’d say 2 or 3 a day and he loved them. But he loved dog treats in general a lot.

On Thursday morning, I left for class as I usually do and when I got home, only a short few hours later, I walked in to my house and called him (which he would usually run and jump in complete excitement nearly knocking me over, he was a week shy of 1 year old so he was still a puppy, a large puppy) and no response I found him lying on the floor against the sofa very lethargic. About 15 minutes later, he finally stood up and walked towards me, but throwing up as he was trying to walk over. I instantly called the vet who told me to bring him right over. He ran an IV, took an ultrasound and gave us anti nausea medication and said it should help.

The next day, he wasn’t walking well and very lethargic and his face seemed to be sunken in. I took him back to the vet and he gave him an antibiotic and told us to continue to give him the anti nausea medication as well as the antibiotics. Later that night, he was still throwing up and hasn’t eaten since Thursday morning before I left to class. His breathing was very heavy and was shaking from being so cold. He was fully house trained but was going to the bathroom on himself and not even caring or moving. He has bloody bowel movements and the following morning (only 3 days after he initially got sick), he passed away.

Rosco was a very healthy puppy. He would have been only 1 year old a week after he passed away. The doctors had no idea what it could have been. The chicken jerky treats were the only thing that was different in his diet. I’m extremely pissed off that after the thousands and thousands of complaints I have come across, that these are still on the shelf. Please do not feed these to your pets! A few days before I saw this article, I purchased Waggin’ Trains because the store was out of Milo's Kitchen. The following day after feeding my dog the treat, she became very sick. Once I saw the article, I knew that was why she was sick. I immediately took her to the vet and had blood work and a urine analysis done. Her urine analysis showed that her protein levels are very high which goes along with kidney problems and failure. There is no medicine I can give her to help her. Those treats made her sick and I just have to sit back and watch my pet, which was completely healthy before Milo's Kitchen and Waggin’ Trains, slowly get sick and eventually die. She has also not been eating very well. Her favorite thing has been her Waggin' Train Chicken Jerky Treats. She has been at the vet the last few days. Our Vet has been trying to figure out what is wrong with Brit. First thought it was arthritis, but no. We thought perhaps it was a heart problem. Her heart does show that it is enlarged so she had an ultrasound today. Enlarged heart, but all is working fine.

When the vet called to tell me the results, he asked if she seemed better and had she eaten anything. I told her she slept all afternoon, wouldn't eat her dinner but ate two Jerky Treats. He wanted to check to see if they had been recalled and found out a lot of info about many dogs getting sick from them. Just google "waggin' train chicken jerky treats recall". No recall because they can't pinpoint the reason dogs are getting sick and some are dying. Do not buy any products made in China! Please pray that Brit will get back to her old self! We fed her real baked chicken and white rice for dinner, she loved it and we are praying she will bounce back in a week or so because she will not be given anymore Jerky Treats. I wish the FDA could figure out what is in the treats that is making our puppies sick.

I am proud to say all of my dogs are second-hand dogs and they are my world. Riley was a completely healthy 9-year-old lhasa apso. Riley was stubbornly sweet and loving. He was very active and always on guard, and had to take a victory lap around the yard after every potty break. Riley had so much energy he needed direction and I took him to obedience classes. Riley earned a Canine Good Citizen diploma. Riley had a 9-year-old sister Chloe, she is a shih tzu. Riley immediately fell in love with Chloe and made her his puppy. She never had a mother and truly needed his love. We also have a 3-year-old 3 lb. Chihuahua named Bambi.

Once Riley found out she wasn't a squirrel and she submitted to a good cleaning, she also became his pup. He kept an eye on them, protected them and licked them clean any time they held still. I found those treats on sale on Black Friday at PetSmart in Aurora, Ohio. They were half-priced, so I thought it was our lucky day and grabbed 4 bags of them as a Christmas gift for my 3 babies. I started giving them a few right away and then I heard about a recall on Waggin Train chicken jerky treats. I checked our bags and it was labeled Canyon Creek Ranch, but I thought it's always better safe than sorry and called the phone number on the bag.

I was told it was a few isolated cases of over feeding and pets not being provided other nutrition for a well-balanced diet that caused a few dogs to become sick. I was not told any of the symptoms or about dogs dying. I believed their explanation and continued feeding them to my dogs but made sure to monitor how much. I gave them each 1/3 of a strip before bed 2-3 times a week. Riley began having accidents in the house. I blamed this on our schedules, the weather and us not paying good enough attention to him. Riley put out frequently whether he wanted to go or not. I then started to notice how much water Riley was drinking and as the accidents randomly continued, I started to limit his water. I know now how wrong those decisions were and hate myself more.

On 2/11, Riley was being especially cuddly and sat still for a few pictures. As a reward, I gave him a whole chicken strip -- another decision that haunts me. I also gave the other two 1 each. Bambi ate hers, but Chloe got distracted and Riley ate hers. I replaced Chloe's treat and we all went to bed. Riley wet the bed in his sleep. I blamed this on me sleeping on my good ear. I have a hearing loss, Riley was my doorbell and alarm clock. Not hearing him ask to go out, I wondered why he didn't move out of the wet spot and why Chloe was laying next to him in it also. I began thinking diabetis or other possible medical reasons. I gave Riley an extra treat out of sympathy for what he must be going through.

On the night of 2/13, I found the list of symptoms from Waggin Train dog treats online I stumbled upon! My heart tore. I had already planed a trip to the vet just to find out what was going on but kidney failure did not occur to me! Riley wet the bed again that night. My husband found the wet spot when he home from working the night shift. This time, I knew Riley never even tried to wake me because I checked on him all night and continually rubbed his head. The urine had no smell and I did not notice the wet spot on the bed, only that he did not move. When I came home from work on 2/14, I saw Riley laying outside in the snow through a window. He always reacted to us coming home and truly lived up to the name Riley at all times. Riley saw me too but never tried to get up. I carried him in the house and we left for the vet ER.

The vet ran blood work and told us Riley was in kidney and liver failure with a very low body temperature. He wanted him on an IV right away and they would need to keep Riley. We kissed he head and left him there so they could hurry to help him. My husband visited Riley on 2/15 morning after work, and there was no improvement and Riley had thrown up during the night. I went to vet after right work around 3:00 pm, held, petted and tried comforting him. Riley tried to be strong for me and his eyes glistened as I talked to him. He tried to get up when I tried to leave for him to be put back on his IV and hopefully eat. I told him to stay and its nap time. He laid his head back down and sighed. The vet called and said Riley died around 6:15 while he was checking on him. I took Chloe and Bambi to see Riley's body hoping it would help some of their confusion.

Chloe doesn't want to come in the house and keeps searching the yard for Riley. She has even began doing very slow victory laps around the fence line trying to find him. Chloe wants her face cleaned and sticks it out for Bambi to do, but Bambi isn't willing. Chloe trembles and acts depressed now. Bambi doesn't want to go out without him. She knew he would notify her of any danger, especially hawks, while she did her business. She is scared to go to the yard without Riley keeping his watch over her. We have a huge hole in our family without him that will never be replaced. Our hearts are breaking and these poisoned 'treats' are still being sold to more innocent victims.

Many dogs have died and more will continue to die. I don't understand how this is being neglected when it has been reported as far back as 2007. Please get this poisoned products off the market.

Her weight dropped 6 lbs in 3 weeks before she was admitted yesterday. She has been eating these treats every day, 3 per day for a 55 lb dog. Not an overdose! I am heartsick to think I was very likely giving her something that was a toxin. I take extremely good care of her.

With all of the complaints that are on the Internet about this product, why isn't someone doing anything? It is highly suspicious that so many dogs are ill and dying who happen to have eaten this product. I complained bitterly to Costco today where I bought this product. They promised they would investigate it through their channels/procedures whatever those are. I told them I would never buy the product again and I would warn anyone in the store I saw buying it. And my vet advised me not to use this "treat."

On January 26, 2012, our 3 1/2-year-old Beagle mix became deathly ill after consuming Canyon Creek Ranch Duck Tenders. On January 27, 2012, we took her to our vet because of an extremely high fever; she was lethargic, she was drinking a lot of water, she was unable to sleep at night because she had to either drink or pee a lot, she refused to eat, she was shivering, and she was dehydrating. Blood test results revealed elevated liver enzymes, a fever of an unknown origin, and low BUN. Our dog was given 2 antibiotic meds, subcutaneous fluids, and instructions to return or take her to emergency clinic if symptoms worsened. A leptospirosis titer was ordered which later came back negative.

On January 29 at 5:30 am, our dog was vomiting; and we rushed her to the animal emergency clinic where she was placed on IV fluids and meds for 24 hours. More blood tests revealed even higher liver enzymes and all other symptoms were still present. On January 30, 2012 at 10:30 am, her fever spiked again and we were instructed to rush her to Metro Vet Hospital to see an internal medicine specialist. An ultrasound showed an enlarged liver, but all other organs appeared to be normal. There were no blockages or obstructions that would cause the fever.

A remark from the DVM suggested that since no other infectious diseases could be diagnosed, consideration should be given to toxicity from secondary substance. Duck tender treats imported by Canyon Creek Ranch was the only different item my pet was fed. This has to be the cause of her illness. Our dog had to be force fed to get nutrition in her body, so she would begin to heal. She was prescribed 4 different antibiotics, an appetite stimulant, and now Denamarin.

After $2500 in vet bills, our dog is still in recovery. Due to the extremely high cost, a liver biopsy has been postponed. We will return to the IMDVM in approximately 2 weeks to get additional blood tests and determine the next path of treatment. Due to this, my husband and I have lost an enormous amount of sleep and 3 fulls days of work.

A complaint has been filed with Canyon Creek Ranch aka Waggin Train as well as the FDA. The FDA needs to issue a recall on the product, so no more pets get sick and potentially die.

All I know is that I have a dead 6 yr old Bichon Frise. She died Jan 24, 2012. She was throwing up and I took her to the vet and she has jaundice already. Her liver numbers were off the charts. She was hospitalized for 8 days. They did a biopsy on her liver and it was definitely a toxin, maybe aflatoxin. 90% of her liver was gone. It hit her very hard. My vet grew a culture of her gallbladder and it showed E.coli and Staph. She never got anything but her dog food. I never fed her treats or food from the table. But we did visit a friend and she said she gave her a Waggin Train Chicken Jerky. I have a $4,300.00 vet bill and no dog to show for it. I miss my little girl. I am so sorry, Holly.

Your product came with a box of dog food I purchased. I gave a couple treats to my three year old and 15 year old dogs. They both became violently ill vomiting, and diarrhea. After that, they became lethargic and would not eat and would not drink. I had to force feed them both and incurred a very costly vet bill after this went on for 2 days. Thank goodness, they both recovered; however, my older dog who had no health problems other than arthritis is now displaying signs of kidney failure. I think this is disgusting that your company has a blatant disregard for the lives of our pets. I was shocked to find out other dogs had fallen ill, even died due to this product and this company ought to be ashamed of yourself.

About a year and a half ago, I begged Wal-Mart to pull these jerky treats of the shelves because they made my pugs deathly ill, but no one listened. Well I guess they are now. I told you they were like poison but the FDA would not put a stop to it so I’m not sure what to do but I hope everyone sues this company and that will stop the import from China. These treats were like poison. The news media, FDA or this company would not stop but I tried on my own now maybe someone will listen. Spread the word, not everybody has a computer or takes the paper.

On November 2011, I fed my registered 9 month old, long haired Chihuaua, Brewster 5 Wagging Train chew sticks over a 3 day period. He became lethargic, wouldn't urinate or drink. First vet visit believed he couldn't pass something. He was given him Milk of Magnesia and shot. On 2nd visit, he was in shock and euthanized after body temp dropped with no chance of recovery. Autopsy revealed nothing lodged but interior bruising and swelling of major organs. Vet stated it could have been the treats, but had not received a warning of recall. Since then, the same vet states there are other cases of euthanized over these same treats. I thought I was rewarding my sweet baby by gifting him a special snack.

Waggin Train treats were the only brand I fed my dogs, especially the chicken jerky. I lost my 15-year old Shellbie in December 2010. She had developed severe diarrhea, vomiting, and urination. Before we could get her to the emergency vet, which is an hour away, she went into seizures and passed away. My little Annie also got very sick one evening. She also had severe vomiting, diarrhea, was lethargic and I could tell she was very afraid. Got her to the vet in the morning and blood tests revealed high liver enzymes. She seems to be Ok for now but needs to go back for more blood work.

As far as my third dog, Lucy, she has been battling diarrhea, excessive urination and drinking for some time now. They were all fed Waggin Train treats. Since Annie got sick, I started researching and came across the FDA warning about chicken jerky treats. This led me to the Waggin Train site and I put 2 and 2 together. These treats may have caused all of the problems. All these China made treats need to be recalled immediately.

I would feel differently about these treats if it was only a certain lot of treats, however, it's not. Various bags from across the US are tainted and Waggin Train is all but admitting fault. I have audio of a conversation stating this. You are welcomed to check out our Facebook page, Animal Parents Against Pet Treats Made In China! And also Waggin Trains site for more victims!

Bella was a healthy 2-year-old dog up until the night of 11/13 and14/11 when she began vomiting, having diarrhea, and quivering. She could not keep any food or water down and would vomit it up right away. After 2 days of trying to eat, she then refused all food on Wednesday. She kept trying to drink but could not keep water down either.

I brought her to my vet on the morning of 11/17/11 where she was immediately put on IV fluids and blood work was taken. The blood work showed that she had kidney failure, which cause unknown, and her white blood count was over 50,000, indicating infection. I visited with her on Saturday, 11/19/11. When I returned home from my visit with her, in my email was the article that the FDA had reissued its warning from 2007 on 11/18/11 regarding the chicken jerky treats stating that it can cause illness and death in dogs (all the symptoms of what Bella had, including kidney failure), but at that point it was too late.

She was given these chicken jerky treats from Saturday, 11/12/11 through Sunday, 11/13/11 when the vomiting started during that night. I immediately called the vets office, but it was closed and left a message. On Sunday, I was not able to visit with her since the vet's office was closed and I was unable to get an update on her condition.

Later on that night at around 10:00pm, the vet called me to let me know that Bella had taken a turn for the worse and she had started to bleed internally. He was going to be putting her on another medication to see if that would help. On Monday, 11/21/11, at about 8:30 am, I called for an update on her condition and what time I could go and visit with her. At that time, I was told that she had passed and that she had never responded to any treatment.

Waggin Train chicken jerky was the only thing that could have poisoned her, for she was never left unattended to get into anything that could have poisoned her. My home is baby/pet-proof, and when she is outside, someone was always with her.

I purchased the Waggin' Train Chicken sticks in November of 2011. They were too hard for our 16-year old Pekingese to chew, so only our six and a half year old Yorkie ate them. I only broke off small pieces for him, never a whole treat at once. Two days after Thanksgiving, he suddenly became ill. I took him to the vet immediately. His blood work showed his kidneys were failing and he was still vomiting, and was in terrible pain. For a week, he was on an IV at the vet's clinic. I also took him to another hospital for an ultrasound because my vet isn't equipped. It took a day to realize what made him sick because it was the only thing he ate that our other dog hadn't. I asked my vet to check the product but they couldn't find a recall.

Both of my 13-year old healthy Alaskan malamute/husky mix suddenly developed lethargy, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss over 2 weeks. The female's BUN/Cr (kidney function tests) were sky high, the male's were moderately but seriously elevated. I racked my brain if they had eaten poison or had leptospirosis. Then I read online about the Waggin Train chicken treats and realized I had bought them these one wk before this started happening on 12/1/2011. After $4000 in vet bills, lost work at my new job, ruined holidays and still giving them subcut fluids, antibiotics, antiemetics and appetite stimulants at home, they seem to be recuperating. I am still very worried about chronic kidney issues.
