I bought Sergeant's Gold Flea & Tick Squeeze On for dogs 9 lbs to 20 lbs at my local Walmart store for $11.97. I put it on my 10 lb. Shih Tzu who will be one year old in a couple of weeks. I followed the directions completely. In about 30-45 minutes, I noticed her whining, crying and very fidgety. She could not sit still. I have in the past purchased Frontline from my vet and she has never acted this way with that product so I thought I better wash it off. Still acted the same way so I called the Hotline on the back of the box. The lady stated that I needed to wash her in Palmolive dish soap 3 or 4 times and I could give her some vitamin E oil on her skin. I washed her 4 times and still no change. Also I applied the vitamin E oil and no change. I then called the vet and he said to make sure she does not start vomiting or having diarrhea and that I should give her Benadryl and that should calm her. I cannot believe that this stuff is being sold. I am so upset and feel awful for doing this to her. I will never buy anything but Frontline.

Friday 10-3-08 my niece went to Walmart to purchase a flea killer for her pet of 4 years. She bought a more expensive brand to be sure it would take care of the fleas. She put it on her dog at 11:00 pm on 10-3-08. She called me on 10-4-08 at 4:15 am. Our little dog who is a Shih-Tzu was having a reaction to medication that was given to her. It was a Sergeant's Gold Flea & Tick Squeeze On for dogs 9 to 20 lbs. I have the code #. She was so sick - she was all wet and could not stop the drooling. She would run and drop and her hind leg would kick right straight back and she would lick her paw to even bleed. It was so painful for this little dog. It was so sad she would try to lay down. It was like frogs jumping in her and she would just bounce crazy. She vomited and had Diarrhea.

We took her to the vet as soon as the doors opened and we cried all the way there thinking that our little pet was going to die and my niece who is also Pregnant was stressed out to the max. I feel so bad that this happened to this poor dog who just did not deserve this. When the vet called the Number on the back of the box they said this was a normal reaction. Can you believe that - NORMAL reaction? I will never forgive them for what they did to us and that poor dog. I will not quit until this stuff is off the market. Please help me to see this will gets done. Go look at the website for this. It kills a lot of dog and bless the owners heart to watch something so horrible.

I applied Sergeant's Gold Flea and Tick Squeeze on to my Chihuahua Sabastian who had a severe reaction. I gave both of our dogs a bath and figured I would treat the little guy before taking our pompapoo to the groomer. My wife and I were gone about three hours and when we came home the dog was running around the house frantic, his right back leg was twitching and he was hacking and frothing at the mouth. I immediately went on line and googled allergic reaction to Sergeant' Pro and to my horror I found out that I was not the only dog owner to experience this. I immediately gave him two very intensive baths and later the same evening gave him two more additional baths with Dawn dish detergent. He still has a slight hind leg twitch but I gave him bendaryl and he is finally sleeping soundly. One of the active ingredients in Sergeant's Pro is Cyphenothrin (pyrethroids chemical class).

Here are common Poisoning with Pyrethroids symptoms: - Irritation of skin and eyes. - Irritability to sound or touch, abnormal facial sensation, sensation of prickling, tingling or creeping on skin, numbness. - Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive salivation, fatigue. - In severe cases: fluid in the lungs and muscle twitching may develop. Seizures may occur and are more common with more toxic cyano-pyrethroids.

Sound familiar. My wife and I are swearing off any and all insecticide based pest control products and will go natural from here on out.

I purchased the flea medication SentryPro XFC (73091-01942) P001707-1 on Oct. 3, 2008 to treat my two dogs and a neighbor's dog I am watching. I applied it as directed at about 8pm that evening and noticed them dry heaving and trying to lick the air as if to get a bad taste out of their mouth. All were scratching and itching like they wanted to crawl out of their skin. I called the company's emergency number and was instructed to bathe them with dishwashing detergent and apply vitamin E to the area of application, then feed them some canned tuna to relieve the sensation/taste in their mouths.

The representative indicated that it must have been because they were playing with each other that they got some of the medication in their mouth which causes them to lick and pant. I didn't see them playing with each since it was already evening and they were in the house. The representative said that this is not a systemic chemical and therefore will not enter their blood system and that it can cause a numbing effect on the dog's skin and mouth. I, however, am truly worried about the effect of my dog's health and any long term repercussions this might have on their well-being. I find it also incredible that there are so many complaints and concerns about this product for so long and nothing has been done about it to prevent other owners and their dogs from having to suffer these physical ailments and potentially harmful consequences from the use of this product. Sergeant's should remove the words 'Pet Care' from their name along with this product. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further get this stuff off store shelves.

Both my dogs had allergic reactions to this product Sergeant's Gold Flea and Tick Squeeze on. I have a Rottweiler and a Black Lab. I followed all the directions exactly. Had to wash the stuff off numerous times and give my dogs Benadryl to get them better. This is horrible stuff. With all the complaints and people's pets ending up in the emergency room, how can this stuff still be on the shelf?

I purchased Sergeant’s Nature's Guardian natural flea & tick squeeze-on for cats and kittens. It contains peppermint, clove, and lemon grass oils. This product is suppose to be ultra-safe for cats and kittens and kill fleas. Well, I paid $10 for a 3 application box and bought 2 boxes. The box made my cats sick and did not kill a single flea. Fortunately, I did not have to take them to the vet. But it's another company trying to get away with false advertising. THE PRODUCT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK!

Applied Sergeants Gold to our 14 lb wawa 6 yrs old named Cisco at 11 pm last night. 10/02/08 Went to bed. Cisco woke us up at 3 am crying and jumping all over. He was shaking, jumping, twitching, biting his paws, and breathing funny. Called emergency number on box. Advised to give bath in Dawn dish soap. Called a vet in the afternoon. No Funds to take to vet. That's why we bought the Sergeants from Walmart. Vet advised by phone to continue bathing in dawn dish soap and OK to give half allergy pill and baby aspirin. Now been over 24 hrs and Cisco is still not right. Called Sergeants again, told wife same line, wash in dawn dish soap. After reading on pet sites on the internet wife and I determined Sergeants knows about the problems with this product. LOTS of complaints, and even a few animal deaths due to this product.

Purchased Sergeant's Gold flea and tick squeeze on for dogs. Made triple sure that I bought the correct one for the size of my 2 shepherd mixes. Read the entire label. Then administered the drops per the instructions. Within a few hours one dog was fine. The other was agitated and seemed to have lost some function in her back legs. She skittered around the kitchen. Biting, chewing, whimpering. She couldn't sit still. Seemed to calm down by bedtime. Then the same symptoms were there by morning. She had trouble standing. We bathed her and rinsed her with a bit of water with Epsom salts. Cannot believe that such an awful product is on store shelves without more warning of toxic effects. It's as if our girl had a neurologic disorder. I hope she's going to be okay. But, somehow, I don't think she's ever going to be right again.

I purchased Sergeant’s Gold flea and tick medication. After applying it to my Airedale, he became distressed, rolling around, biting and licking at his back etc. The next day, there was a large, oozing sore on his back where the chemical had been applied. This turned into a very large, thick scab. I wasn't sure what had caused this until I applied another packet (less concentrated) to my greyhound. She became distressed and started licking at the spot where the Sergeant’s was. I immediately rinsed her off and she was fine. Two reactions in two dogs tells me that this product is a dangerous and should be pulled from the market and whoever owns Sergeant’s should be "horse-whipped' in the 'town square'.

Sergeants Gold and SentryPro XFC Allergic Reactions and Deaths happen Daily see the below news report and websites with all the fellow sufferers.

Been through it with two Pugs, it was like watching them die for three days straight. This is not a allergic reaction. There is something wrong with their Sergeant Products and instead of taking it off the shelves the continue to make Pet Parents like You and I watch our pet children suffer.

I recently treated my three month old Pug with Sergeant's Gold Squeeze On Flea and Tick treatment and also had purchased Sergeant's Skip-Flea and Tick Shampoo, which claimed to kill fleas and ticks for up to ten days. I used both products as directed being sure to follow the directions to the letter. The shampoo failed to kill ANY fleas as it had claimed, but the major problem began when I applied the Sergeant's Gold. Within thirty minutes, my good-natured puppy went ballistic, running, scratching and digging at his fur, chewing off several spots within hours.

I bathed him in cool water and as this was a Saturday evening, I ended up taking him to the vet on the following Monday. By this time the spots had ulcerated and had formed oozing pus pockets, the animal had a fever and couldn't get enough water to drink. The spots were bleeding where he had been digging at them. He was given a steroid shot, the ulcerated areas were shaved, ointment was applied and he was put on an antibiotic for infection, which he is still on.

I am out not only a considerable amount from the local Walmart where I purchased the products (approximately $17), but my vet bill was extreme for all the treatment and medication. The ironic thing is that even after all the strong poison I applied to my poor dog's skin, not one flea was killed! In fact, he was still crawling with them on the following Monday when I took him to the vet.

The Sergeant's Gold claims to be better than Frontline (which I have now purchased for future application, once his wounds have healed sufficiently). The company offers what it cannot under any circumstances deliver and is the epitomy of FALSE ADVERTISING. Something needs to be done about it. I sincerely wish I had read this forum BEFORE I not only wasted my money and time, but more importantly, injured my sweet little dog.

On Sunday, 09/21/08 I put one ampule of Sergeant's Gold on each of my dogs, 1 Yorkie and 1 Pug. I purhcased this product for dogs 9-20 lbs at WalMart. Within 2 hours both my dogs were scratching at their ears, chewing their feet, coughing and going in circles. Both were crying and were stressed out and very anxious. I took them to the vet first thing this morning and learned that the Sergeant's Gold did this to my babies. What a horrible product.

The vet had to give each of them a shot and gave me steriods to give them. I have bathed them twice and still my Pug continues to cry and neither of them can sleep without distress.

I have paid over $200.00 to remedy my dogs health because I thought that since a product was being sold over the counter it was safe. This product is NOT safe and should be removed immediately! I had to take the day off from work to not only take the dogs to the vets but because I got zero sleep as they could not rest.

I purchased Sergeant Gold Flea and Tick Meds for my 2 dogs. I used one tube of this medicine as directed on the box and 1 of my dogs had a severe reaction. The dog was in pain and had to be bathed and broke out in a rash as well as redness. This product is very dangerous and should not be allowed to be sold to consumers as someone's pet may suffer with more injuries or death.

Economic damage was $11 for the product.

I purchased Sergeant's Gold flea & tick squeeze-on for dogs 9-20lbs and applied it to my adult dog that is within the weight range. I read the instructions and used it as recommended. Within an hour my dog was very aggitated, scratching, and biting at herself. I thought the few fleas she may have had were just trying to escape the medicine. She became worse, racing around the house, biting at the air, and biting at her skin. When she began drooling and salivating an unusual amount and would not stand, I called the vet. He advised that she was having an allergic reaction and to bathe the dog immediately. After an hour we called back because she was having issues with her back leg and frothing at the mouth.

I purchased Sergeant's Natures Guardian Natural Flea & Tick Squeeze-On for Cats & Kittens on November 7th, 2007.

I applied the oinment as directed, within 10 min. my 7 month old kitten/cat was freaking out. He wouldn't stop scratching and flipping around. The scent of this oinment was very strong it even bothered my eyes.

I waited a few hours to see how he was. He was still pulling at his hair on his back between his shoulder blades. I felt so bad I gave him a bath to try and get it off. The scent was still there. It was awful, all night long he was flipping around.

The next day he had pulled out his hair the size of a quarter. I called my vet and they said to bath him again and get benedrayl. Which I did but he didn't want any part of the medicine. I called Sergeants they transfered me to conumer affairs, where they took a statement. Asked me to send them the left over package ( which unfortunately I threw away because of the smell ) my receipt for the purchase and write a list of events, then they will be in touch. Now 7 days later. 11/16th my kitty has a bald spot the size of 1/2 dollar. He is still scratching and pulling at his hair. I call my vet again and he had to go in for an injection, medication, and oinment.

Well it is 11/23/07 he is still anoid by the spot and his hair hasn't grown back. Sergeants did call me and said they are sending a form for me to fill out. So when I get this I will fill it out, send them copies of all my receipts and bills. As well as the pictures I took of my Kitty. Dont think they will do any but at least I feel better making a complaint in hopes no one elses cat / kitten has to go through this.
