I stumbled across puppyfind.com when I wasn't having much luck finding a pup in my area. I did notice that most of the breeders are from the Midwest, which is puppy mill territory, so I really had to do a lot of research before settling on a breeder. I googled everything from the breeder(s) names to their license number and even viewed reports from their USDA state inspections.

Once I was confident that I wasn't dealing with a puppy mill, I contacted Terri from Willowbrook kennels. My mini Australian Shepherd was shipped via ground transportation (Petex) all the way from Oklahoma to me in Massachusettes. Picking her up seemed like the sketchiest situation ever, as the petex driver asked me to meet him in an Applebee's parking lot at 9:30 at night, and we had to go around the back of the 18 wheeler where the driver placed her in my arms. Even though it seemed sketchy, it was totally legit and the drivers were nice and professional.

My puppy is perfection. I was scared that I would end up with a different dog or a sickly dog but she is perfectly healthy. My vet was impressed with her. She had been fully vaccinated, microchipped and free of parasites. Plus she was clean and smelled nice when we got her. I strongly recommend puppyfind when looking to find your new best friend, but caution that you need to do your homework to make sure your pet is coming from a reputable breeder. My family is so happy with our little girl Brea!!

I have purchased 3 dogs over a period of two years from three different breeders on Puppyfind.com. All three of my dogs are English Golden Retrievers. Two of my pups came from direct Puppyfind ads, the third was a private sale but the from a breeder who has sold many dogs on Puppyfind. I found reputable breeders, paid good money, and have had great experiences. Proper communication is key. Scammers love any site that sells puppies so you have to be careful and do your homework. I highly recommend Puppyfind.com.

I contacted someone through puppyfind and purchased a dog. I was told I was purchasing a "mini golden doodle" this is a poodle and golden retriever mix dog. I had the dog DNA tested which informed me that I had a poodle/pomeranian mix dog. I wanted to let the buyers of "Bruno" the mini golden doodle posted on puppyfind, January 8th, that they are not getting what they want. The seller is lying unfortunately. I gave him the opportunity yesterday to tell me the truth but to my disappointment, he continued to try and fool me. I don't understand his motivation for lying about the breed type.

As soon as he got back he send me all the information that I had requested including a video of the puppy that I'm buying from him. I'm happy to say that he made right and I can't to meet my French bulldog puppy tomorrow when supposed to arrive! He had a puppy that I was interested in and I send him a deposit in the amount of $1,000.00 dollars, and I send him the deposit, has refuse to give me any info in regards to the puppy and every time I email him about when the puppy is ready to come home he telling "I give you an update" but instead he keeps telling me "tomorrow I get back to you" but he has not done so.

We were recently scammed via puppyfind.com. After several correspondences via email and phone and signing a contract we felt comfortable sending the "breeder" money via PayPal. Before doing so, we spoke with PayPal and they said we had buyer protection. This made us feel comfortable. After being promised to be sent the puppy for 3 days in a row, we became very suspicious and told the seller that we were reporting them to our attorney, PayPal, and puppyfind.com. All communication completely stopped. We later found out that PUPPIES AND LIVE ANIMALS ARE NOT COVERED VIA PAYPAL!! However, if you use a credit card, which we did, your money can be returned. Secondly, even though PayPal does not cover live animals, they protect your information. Therefore, the scammers did not get any personal information from us using PayPal and because we used a credit card, we will be getting our $1,505 dollars back.

A lot of the information with the breeders name seemed to match up. The home address of the "breeder" was real and there was a person that living there with the same last name (but not first name) of the breeder. The scammer did a lot of research to ensure that pieces of information would add up. We were fooled. My advice: do not buy online unless you are 100% confident that the puppy is real. Ask for several pictures and ask the breeder to send pictures of the puppy with that day's news paper. Talk to them on the phone, but do make sure you communicate via email and get everything in writing. Get a contract as well. Do a lot of research before sending money and don't get too excited and make up excuses with something that does not perfectly add up. Use PayPal to protect your information and use your credit card via PayPal. Like I said, PayPal will not cover a live animal, but your personal information will be protected and your credit card will refund you upon not receiving the animal. If you are scammed, like it, it does take many hours of phone calls and is not as easy as I'm making it sound.

I had been looking for a Morkie puppy for a month or so and came across PuppyFind. After finding 2 adorable Morkies, I called my daughter who was also looking for a puppy for my grandson. She came over. We looked at the puppies and were hooked. The "breeder" whose name was Gerte ** had cute pics with bow ties and little props. She had videos on YouTube. The puppies looked scared and weren't really moving but I figured it was just because they weren't used to having a camera in their face. She told us that she made deliveries to the Mass state line in New York for a gas fee of $60. She then said that because she worked on Sundays and that was the only day deliveries could be done - that her neighbor did the deliveries for her. All these red flags and I didn't even realize it because I never purchased a puppy online. I thought PuppyFind was a site for legitimate breeders.

So we met some man in a silver minivan on Sunday, November 23rd and he gave us our puppies. There was also another person picking up a puppy from him. He gave us an envelope that was to contain the dates of their first shots, receipt for payment which was cash only and a health record and guarantee. 10 days for infectious disease, 90 days for genetic or hereditary defects. He then drove off rather quickly. We didn't even pay attention to anything other than the puppies. We fell in love instantly. They were adorable, but they smelled awful. We got them home and bathed them. They played around jumping on each other for a while and then my daughter took her puppy home.

That night, my daughter’s puppy began vomiting and wouldn't eat. She brought the pup to the vet Monday morning and they gave the pup Reglan to stop the vomiting and something to calm his belly. The rest of Monday our pup still didn't eat. Tues morning pup had diarrhea. My daughter brought the stool sample to the vet and he had coccidia and giardia. They gave her Albon and subcutaneous fluid and was to be fed by syringe. Wednesday they had her go back to check him and found he had an intestinal virus and placed him on amoxicillin and did sub fluids again. They placed him on special food that she had to mix with water and syringe feed. They said they didn’t know if he would make it, he was so sick.

Thurs morning, Thanksgiving, the vet went in to the office in the morning just to check him. They found a heart murmur. They wanted to see him again on Friday. All week my daughter had been setting her alarm at night to get up every 3 hours or so to feed him. When she got up at 5 to feed the puppy, he was barely breathing. Within a few minutes the puppy stopped breathing. She had the puppy for 5 days and he was gone.

NOW MY PUPPY. He was fine. Playful, eating well on Monday, Tues and then we took him to the vet Wednesday morning for his first vet check. In order for guarantee from breeder to be valid, we had the take him to a vet within the first 5 days. He had ear parasites. He was treated for that. He was also given a distemper shot and a wormer because the paper the breeder gave us on opening wasn’t even done by a vet. The breeder said she gave the first shots. Vets don't like to go by that because they can't trust that they did and whether or not the shots were good. We brought a stool sample. They said they would have the results on Friday because the next day Thursday was Thanksgiving. Everything seemed fine.

Wednesday night our puppy started vomiting and stopped eating. The vet said he might be a little sluggish because of the shot he was given. At first we weren't alarmed. On thanksgiving morning he was having white mucousy diarrhea and just wanted to sleep and lay down. Our playful pup was sick. My daughter and I spent Thanksgiving feeding them with syringes. Friday morning when my daughter called me crying about her puppy passing away I went right over. When I left there, I waited until my vet opened and brought my sick puppy back in. The vet said he was very sick and he really needed to go to the animal hospital. His temperature was 97. Normal is 100. He was barely moving and was very weak.

We went to the animal hospital with him and found out he had parvovirus. The vet said that he was sick long before we picked him up on Sunday. He was there for 3 nights. We had to euthanize him yesterday. Through this whole horrible ordeal, we contacted the breeder several times. She said my daughter’s puppy died because she didn't take care of him properly. She refused to refund us, looked up our personal info and has threatened us. I am devastated that someone could be so cruel. She told us puppy mills weren't illegal and the pups must have gotten parvo because the week before we picked them up she let them play outside. She said that they were the last in their litter and were getting older so she left them out there. What the hell does that mean?

Then she said 75% of her puppies had 2 NeoPar shots, that litter only had 1, her bad. Those were her words. Said she spent the money. She used a fake name and stopped answering emails. The vet at the hospital spoke to the state vet because they have to report when there is a parvo incident. They called me and I gave all the info I had. The van had 4 other pups in it with ours so those pups probably have parvo too. I emailed PuppyFind to ask for advice on what I should do. I still have not gotten a response.

After reading all the complaints about PuppyFind, I won't bother to even try to get their help. They are just as bad as the puppy mills they protect. I just want to find this woman because I can't even think about what the animals in her care are being subjected to and also to save another person from the emotional and financial devastation that we have gone through. I spent over $ 1300 in treatment not to mention the price of the puppy and my daughter spent almost $1000. This woman is evil and I hope karma finds her. I hope someone reads this and knows who this woman is!

I found a dog on PUPPYFIND a month ago. I went to Houston to pick up my dog. I took her to the vet the very next day and she had a parasite. A week later we are in the emergency room and she was diagnosed with PARVOVIRUS. Two weeks later we had to put her down. The breeder told us the other dog left also had parvovirus. I got back on to right my review so everyone would be careful because parvovirus is so contagious. PUPPYFIND removed my review and has been demanding more and more proof from me for the past 3 days. I have sent them vet bills, pictures, and even a letter from my vet.

They finally allowed me to make a post but said it had to be exactly what my vet said and I couldn't include any of my personal Opinions. My next review was removed because I mentioned how difficult PUPPYFIND made it for me to be able to write my review. They told me I wasn't allowed to mention them in my review? Basically they are protecting these backyard breeders and make it almost impossible for anyone to post the TRUTH. DO NOT USE THIS SITE IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A HEALTHY DOG.

My husband and I were interested in buying a Shiba Inu puppy, after searching for weeks we found one that we loved. I don't remember the breeders name but she was a nice lady from Arkansas. We paid $550 for Tosh (Our Shiba) and about $300 for shipping. He was delivered to us when he was about 12 weeks through PetEx, a doggie delivery service. He arrived in Miami within a few days. He did have worms when we took him to the vet but he's been healthy ever since. He is now 3 years old and part of the family.

Beware do not buy any puppies from this breeder. My friend purchased a shar pei puppy for her daughter from Brian ** and this puppy was in terrible shape. It was picked up by a friend and brought from Tn to Ms. This breeder should be investigated for cruelty to animals. The puppy "fudge ripple" was flea infested, had a skin infection, had nutritional deficiencies, eye infection, and a yeast infection in his ears. I personally inspected this puppy when it arrived in MS and was totally appalled at its poor condition. This puppy was advertised as being up-to-date on its shots and had a clean bill of health. The only vet record that was sent came from an online pet supply "Dr. Foster and Smith". Also included in the paperwork was a document that stated that the puppy was dew-clawed in July 2014. But the birth record showed that it was born September 2014. So consider this a warning to anyone considering purchasing any breed from Brian **. I posted this review on their site and it was deleted within 5mins.

Return to the Vet after x-rays and blood test and medication the diagnosis was a liver stunt. This will probably require surgery. The Vet told me this is heredity and the seller should have known. In reality you have to take the good with the bad. PuppyFind attempts to provide a good consumer oriented online setting for honest buyers and sellers. There are always disreputable buyers and sellers who try to take advantage of the unsuspecting. I have bought wonderful pets through the site, driving quite a distance to meet a delightful breeder who kept the puppies in a clean and healthy kennel. We still keep in touch. Whenever my dog had puppies, I used the site and my puppies found wonderful homes in the mountains of Virgina, on a beautiful lakeside, at the beach and in snowy upstate New York. I can use Facebook to keep up with them or either I get email from the owners and I delight in seeing heartwarming photos of my babies all grown up!

On the other hand, I have encountered scam artists who have sent bogus cashiers checks for large sums of money for me to deposit in my bank, mail them the difference between the cost of the puppy and shipping, and then ship the puppy to a non existing address. Before any transaction or travel, I take the time to Google the person or the address, and I call the bank to verify funds. When there is an on-going email conversation, I make the buyer aware that I intend to take the previously mentioned precautions, and that revelation takes care of those purveyors of ill will. There are honest and dishonest PEOPLE. It is not the fault of the website.

My comment reiterates the adage, "Buyer beware!". I recently bought what I believe is a puppy mill puppy. Even a backyard breeder is likely not able to produce so many puppies in such a short time. My pup is an Australian Shepherd and I live in Michigan. After I bought the pup, I went back to Puppyfind and counted the number of pups listed by this breeder. There were ads for 23 pups with four different dates of birth. For the heck of it, I again checked Puppyfind yesterday (four months after buying my dog) and, lo and behold, the same breeder is advertising another 21 Aussie puppies for sale.

So far, my pup is healthy and happy. She has been vet checked and is physically sound. She has some wild behaviors that speak to a non-socialized puppy. Because I have decades of experience raising dogs and have health insurance on her, I'm hopeful Bailey will turn out fine. Just be very, very careful when buying pups off this site. My recommendation would be that you deal only with local breeders and practice due diligence. There are reputable breeders advertising on Puppyfind. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of disreputable breeders also advertising on Puppyfind, and that company doesn't seem to care either way.

I admit I am disgusted by the "breeders" on this site with their capitalistic money hungry vibe at the expense of puppies that never asked to be born. I came across this site while searching for a breeder. I found a bunch of puppies which I thought were available for purchasing. The first problem is in order to see an e-mail or state where the puppy is, you have to join and upgrade which means paying. So I did, thinking well their maintaining the site and adding new listings and all. But after paying, I found that most were in the Midwest and only 1-2 even in my state, but that was only the beginning. I decided to contact a breeder just outside my state which live two hours away. My e-mail went unanswered even after improbable times sending them. Another had a phone number and it was disconnected. Some responded that it was a really old listing, like a year or two.

Even though the listing had the puppies birth as just six weeks ago, they said for certain they had no puppies and no longer belong to the site. It turns out that they rerun old ads with new dates to make the site look like this is where you want to go for puppies. Over my three months, I did not get in touch with even one person with a puppy. Wasted money for three months. My e-mail to the site only got me one angry e-mail back. That was when this was no reputable site but a scam. Avoid the sweet pictures and avoid the thieves looking to prey on parents who now have to tell their kids why there is no puppy that they fell in love with. Don't know where they are based but someone needs to report them.

I contacted Puppyfind to do a check on a breeder EXC before picking up our puppy on 4/26. Nothing came up I was told. I was a little skeptical after asking for the parent's weight and more pictures and only being told she was busy. We made the 2 1/2 hr trip as this was a special pup for our ill child. When we arrived it was a filthy trailer. Inside was one puppy pad, no sounds of puppies, no site of puppies. She had ours in her hand and was quick to push us out the door to wait for her food. She gave us a health guarantee but with just scribble of what was supposed to be a signature of shots given. Our pup became critically ill 4 days later and nearly died.

We relied on an emergency vet and she pulled through. I sent Ashlee a text asking the vet's name and phone number so my vet could get any info needed for the follow up visit. She replied by saying my vet could call her... my radar went up. I went on her site and suddenly she had 8wk old shichons on site born 3/6.... The next day she had 5 new morkies on site 8 weeks old listed.... We then knew this wasn't possible. She was running some sort of puppy mill maybe not directly from her home but within the vicinity. There were no dog bowls, no dog food, and if all these puppies existed, where were they?? We now consider our puppy a rescue puppy and we are thankful we got her out of there.

We don't believe she has had these shots and truly don't know how old she is. Our vet is rechecking her tomorrow. The breeder goes by Ashlee, her telephone number is ** and the address is ** Warsaw, IN. I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO BUY FROM ASHLEE UNLESS YOU WANT TO RESCUE A PUPPY. We love our puppy so much and would never give her up but this breeder EXC is scamming people. She is not for real and not taking care of puppies well. The only blessing out of this is we rescued a puppy and are giving her a very good home.

I picked up puppy and was appalled at the conditions. Stupidly took the Pup, because I couldn't bear to leave him in those conditions (looked like Grapes of Wrath) outdoor unprotected kennels. Too much to even describe! Took the dog directly from there to the vet. Diagnosed with hook worm (not the typical pin worms), treated that. Pup was very quiet. Took that to be the temperament of that particular pup.

At 4 mos. the vet didn't like the lingering limp. Diagnosis: bilateral osteochondrosis of both shoulders AND both knees. Elbow joint incongruity resulting in ulnar osteotomy. 2 evaluations by my vet and Cornell vet hospital. Very expensive 6 hr surgery with 6 month recovery. 3 weeks after that surgery we find the same pup has entropic eyelids which will need surgery. This woman is still breeding the same female over and over. She offered to REPLACE my pup. Now I am connected with many newf breeders. They all know of her and her unhealthy pups. Remember that a good newf breeder will not just SELL you a dog. They remain part of your dogs life. They care about the standard of the breed.

This dog was put on website for pedigree puppies only. I went to the house & I asked how old the puppy was & they said 5 months. I also asked if it was a Yellow Lab pedigree with papers AKC & its shots. The dog was listed for $50 which sometimes happens when a dog gets past the puppy age & they can't find a home. I get there, the dog is tied to pole in the basement with no room to turn & not trained at all around & they didn't own a leash. I felt so bad for this dog. Then they start telling me all the lies they could think of to get money.

This dog is 5 months, the dog has papers. I asked for the papers, they lost them then they tell me they paid $500 for the 'puppy' dog & $200 for shots. I asked for the paperwork for the dog's shots, tags & its paperwork which suddenly they don't have and I am not stupid. They never had it. I asked the young daughter why her Father got the dog & she said to make money off of the puppies & could she come see the puppies since obviously the puppy if they ever had it as a puppy meant nothing to them if you can't buy a leash or get it shots.

I never want these people to do this to another dog or someone who doesn't know about dogs to go through what that dog went through or myself. When I took the dog to the vet, it is over a year, doesn't know the name they posted for it. It is a Pointer, Spaniel & Lab mix which was obvious but seeing this dog tied to a six foot rope but tied not even a foot for the dog with no room to run & no fenced-in yard & a collar but no leash I could not leave it. I told them you posted $50 and this is not a Lab. You should get nothing & if I find out this dog is ill, you will be reported. This is a scammer & shouldn't own a Goldfish. Please stop them or I will sue these people for trying to commit a fraud. I know he will do this again. The dog is still listed under Paloma **. His name is Santiago and the son who I believe posted this for Dad is ED.

First, let me apologize to anyone who has had bad experiences with puppy/dog sellers on Puppyfind.com. We are a breeder and I was honesty shocked to read some of the buyer reviews! Unreal. Now on another note, as a seller, I was shocked at some of the scams that some buyers tried. We have listed a litter of Sheltie pups. We were contacted and did several transactions with honest people really looking for a puppy. While those transactions have been going very smoothly, we were also contacted by several people who asked to buy a puppy, then would send us several other emails with different email addresses but the same name. Then we found out that they would actually purchase puppies, then turn around and list them for re-sale at higher prices when they get the puppy, kinda the middle man with a puppy mark up!! Really people??

Talk about no morals! That is horrible. While most of our experiences with buyers go very smooth, there always has to be someone out there who can take what should be a easy and fun experience for both parties and ruin it for everyone. For those of you looking to buy a puppy, please be sure and ask the right questions, and try and meet the pet breeders. Also, for those paying for shipping a puppy/dog, it is cheaper to fly round trip to pick up your new pet than it is to ship a pet one way. (If the puppy fits on your lap or in a crate under your seat on a plane, they fly free!) So if this is possible, it's really a much better way to meet your new pet, and the breeders! :) If the breeder refuses to meet you this way, don't buy from them. Also, look at the background and/or bedding, floors, etc of the photos of your new pet. If it isn't clean and safe, most likely neither is your pet.

I read a few reviews here on the puppyfind.com complaint site and feel terrible for all of you who had bad experiences. Anytime you deal with an online site claiming to be selling a puppy, always beware of the person posting their puppy or dog. Adopting locally is the best way to get what you are spending your hard earned cash on. Visit the breeder's home and look at the conditions the puppies are raised in. Ask to see the parents of the puppies. If the parents aren't onsite, turn around and leave. If the conditions aren't good or you fear that the breeder is abusing their adult dogs, turn around and report them.

Each state has a humane society. Each state has laws protecting animals. Don't let ignorant people stop you from having the experience on puppyfind.com that you deserve. Not every post is a scam. Do your research and ask many questions before adopting a family pet. Don't just fall in love with a picture of the pet you wish to adopt. It's easy for anyone to copy and paste a picture of a champion pup or dog from any website and post it here on puppyfind.com. Please do your research prior to adopting, and you will have a satisfied experience. :) Be patient when searching for a pet to adopt. The right one will come to you. :D Many blessings to all who have found their loving pet!!! :D

Scammed by Puppyfind Mill in SC - In March of 2013, I lost my beloved poodle after having him for 16 years. After going through the grieving process, my husband and I began looking for a poodle puppy as a companion for our Dachshund. We looked through many ads, liked this one because of all of its "five" star reviews. Emailed back and forth with Bowen ** from Camden, SC. He "happened" to have one female left. We agreed on a price and met him to pick up our sweet girl.

The FIRST issue started before we even got home. She began to vomit continually. I was thinking Parvovirus. We took her to our vet and after MANY expensive tests and a visit to an endocrine specialist, we had our diagnosis - Addison's Disease (which is a genetic disease passed down through breeding - there is NO CURE). My vet said it was a miracle that I was paying close enough to her symptoms so that she knew what to look for in our dog.

I contacted the breeder in SC and he seemed sympathetic. Wanted to refund the purchase price, never had this happen in all of the years he had been breeding his silver champion stud, who was now 14 AND he was still being bred. Long story short, breeder has now disappeared (after asking me to wait for the refund due to car trouble - wonder how many times he had used that excuse?). I am not concerned about the money being refunded at all. I AM WORRIED that he will continue to breed these apricot and silver poodles (mom's name was Angel) and selling these puppies that may have a genetic disorder. He "assured" me that he had the mom spayed, but since he doesn't respond to my inquiries anymore, I doubt it happened. I LOVE my dog, and no amount of money would have me sell her. Just BEWARE!!!!! If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I have bought two puppies from PuppyFind. The first was a mix of half Great Pyrenees, quarter shepherd and quarter husky. Why we paid so much and had a mutt shipped from MO, I'll never know. I just fell in love with her picture. The seller was good about staying in touch and sending pics and videos; however, when we picked her up she was so skinny and pathetic looking I wanted to cry. My daughter and I spent the better part of the weekend picking ticks off of her. We stopped counting at 100! The sellers ad disappeared immediately even though there were others in the litter. Rosie had never been inside as she did not understand how a door worked at all. Rosie is one now and happy, healthy and well loved by all, including the whole gang at the local PetSmart. I just consider her an expensive rescue dog and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Our second experience was a purebred Great Pyrenees from Tennessee. The woman was great about communicating with me until I had paid in full, then getting a response became like pulling teeth. I did not even find out his birthday (despite asking several times) until he was 6 months old. I have yet to find out his parentage because I have my dog, she has her money. So an email is apparently too much hassle. He is eight months old now, huge and into EVERYTHING, and I love him to pieces! My overall feeling is that you won't find quality breeders on this site but I just can't be sorry I did it. We all love them and they love each other and were saved from much worse lives!!!

If the review is not good, the sellers just get a hold of Puppyfind and complain to them that the buyer is causing trouble and giving them a bad name. Puppyfind will delete the post. The only recourse you have is making sure you do not send your deposits or any money any other way than through PayPal. You will at least have a fighting chance to get your deposit or full price refund through them. Never send certified checks, money orders or any similar payments. PayPal is the only way. Most of the sellers are puppy mill breeders. AKC doesn't care. All they want is the money for the litter registration and then the money for each puppy they register. Never buy from anyone that wants to meet in the parking lot somewhere. Insist you are allowed to go to where they have the puppies. If they don't want you there, walk away. Good luck out there. Response to buyers who did not know puppies are born with worms: Actually, parasites in puppies is almost always present. Puppies are born with worms and coccidia and giardia are very easy for them to contract because of their suppressed immune systems. For this reason, a responsible breeder should have their puppies dewormed at least twice before going to a new home. Also, breeders should allow you to see their facilities and stools should be picked up once a day if not more often to avoid infection with things that attack a young puppy's immune system, like coccidia and giardia. These two parasites are common and many adult dogs naturally carry them but the maturity of their immune system keeps them from having issues with them. The common medication for giardia, is also the common medication for any kind of diarrhea - Flagyl.

I worked for a veterinarian for 9 years and learn a tremendous amount of valuable information about common pets people have as well as assisted in surgeries. Deworming is a must for puppies and a stool sample should also be checked at least once a month until they are on a heartworm medication that also fights worms. Stool samples can reveal parasitic eggs only if the parasite is shedding them. When the parasite is not shedding the eggs, you can a false-positive (false, but puppy does actually have a parasite).

Moses gave me the name of Alfonzo ** at ** who agreed to sell me his female (Trenda) for $450.00 shipped to my door. Alfonzo gave me his address as ** and a telephone # **.

With being approved after several emails, asking background past with puppies/dogs, I was directed to send the $450.00 by a money gram to which I did on August 11 2013. I received an email on August 12 requesting an additional $400.00 for a shipping crate that would be refunded once I receive the puppy and send the crate back to the shipper. I began to get suspicious and called Alfonzo at the number he gave me for Maryland. He didn’t answer and I left a message. Alfonzo called back with a number that showed on my display as **?

I sent an email to the breeder Moses with suspicion and I was assured all was legitimate. I contacted Alfonzo asking which means he was to send the puppy and which carrier he was using. It showed me puppies being sent from Maryland to my home here in Simcoe, Ontario. So I sent the $400.00 to Alfonzo. August 13 I received a desperate email from Alfonzo he was at the airport and the shipping was asking for $150.00 for insurance, $180.00 for Quarantine and an additional $250.00 for a customs stamp.

This is when I felt sick to my stomach and knew I have been taken advantage of. I sent an email back and asked for my money to be returned. I had several emails begging me to send the money as they were concerned for the puppy’s health and well being going as far as to say the authorities would send the puppy to a zoo????? I said I would not send any other money until I receive the puppy. I received many more emails (I have 54 emails saved to back up what is written here) and two telephone calls urging me to send the money so the puppy could be sent to us ASAP. I said I will send the $400.00 refundable money from the crate once I received the puppy.

My daughter being very upset tracked the telephone # ** to Abuja Nigeria! I have contacted the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Canada Fraud cases) and FEDEX advising all of them of this case. Scams go both ways. There are unscrupulous people that pretend to be legitimate buyers. They misrepresent themselves by stating they are loving family with children that wish to purchase a puppy and will provide a good home for the animal. Their shipping representative sends a check for over the asking price, on a stolen check, requesting the check deposited and the additional funds returned to them. The puppy seller is liable for the cost of the NSF check they deposited in good faith and additional funds while still needing to place the pup with a good family. The scam occurs both ways which is a shame for the legitimate seller/buyer to place a healthy puppy with an honest pet caring family. Now the scam has transferred to potential pet owners sending money, in trust, as a deposit to hold a pup, being scammed with no pup. Can you find fault with a breeder for wanting the deposit as insurance - just like the pet purchaser wants insurance. When do we start trusting honest people again? We, as intelligent people, can find honest transactions with honest people.

I spent a year searching online for a Pomeranian; much of that time sifting through the myriad poms on PuppyFind. I realized almost immediately that their website is plagued by scammers. Apparently, the latest version of the so-called Nigerian scam (aka "Nigerian 419 scam") is to steal photos of the most gorgeous puppies from ads by legitimate breeders and post them on PuppyFind at ridiculously low prices (e.g., $350 inclusive of shipping). But once you figure out the scammers' routine, you can spot their ads a mile away. The PuppyFind Fraud Department is on the case (I've flagged scam ads for them many times), but they are outmatched by the scammers.

After much research and consideration, I purchased a white pom from a breeder in Georgia. The breeder was easy to deal with via email and she was available by cell. She sent me photos of my pup each week until he was ready to fly to New Jersey. She willingly answered all of my questions (and there were a lot). She jumped through all of my hoops, even the ones that struck her as odd. I had read the "Buyer's Tips" posted by PuppyFind, so I was particularly focused on taking steps to ensure that I wasn't getting scammed.

I was nervous about a tiny little puppy flying solo, but it worked out really well. My puppy was shipped on the scheduled date and arrived at the airport freshly bathed, adorable, loving, playful and energetic. He has the sweetest personality and everyone loves him, especially his mom. I took him to the vet the very next day and they thought he was adorable too. His health checked out fine with two exceptions: they said that he had a mild ear infection (no mites) and after they received the results of his stool sample, they called and said that he had Coccidia (sp) parasites. I was surprised to learn about the parasites because my puppy seemed very healthy, normal and active.

Now I'm giving him parasite medication for 8 days. He loves the taste of this medicine, so administering it is easy. Hopefully, he will be completely cured of the parasites in a few more days. I like my PuppyFind breeder, who said that she and her hubby only raise poms (mostly white) and horses. I don't think they're running a puppy mill. However, I'm subtracting stars because of the parasites. I'm certainly no expert on this subject (this is my first puppy), but I don't think my puppy should have had parasites in the first place. But he's too cute for words and I love him to pieces.

Puppyfind removes customer complaints about the breeder at the breeder’s request. Therefore, it might look like a breeder has a 5-star rating, but in reality they could have many negative complaints against them. Puppyfind.com should allow customers to post (and keep posted!) ratings and comments about their experiences with a breeder so that others know what they are getting into. Removing user comments is not ethical of Puppyfind because you really don't know who you are dealing with or how many people they have scammed in the past.

When I tried to contact her about the problem, she gave me the brush off. So we ended up giving the puppy to a poodle rescue where they could evaluate the puppy and find her the right home. I did not want the responsibility of selling an ill-tempered dog. If you can't find the breed you want in your area and need to buy the puppy through Puppyfind, be careful. When I got out of my car, I could hear the sound of a lot of dogs barking. I was told via the owner that the puppy I came to see was socialized. When I went into the house to see it, it cowered in the corner. When it was held, it shook from fright. I set it down on the floor and it would cower every time I tried to pet its head, wouldn't come when coaxed and stayed at least an arm's length away at all times.

I asked to see the mother. She was brought in and her fur was a matted mess, her stomach was shaved, she was hyper, panting constantly and foul smelling. When asked about vaccinations, etc., the owner said that he administers his own. I don't have any problems with people making a living selling dogs, but I do have a problem when they describe themselves as a conscientious breeder, selectively breeding for 15 years and cage their dogs and treat them as if they were chickens. This is an Amish puppy mill. If you choose to purchase from here, you are perpetuating this cycle of animal abuse.

I purchased a chow puppy from China Doll Chows through PuppyFind. The breeder told me her puppies were so sweet and had a great temperament. The day she flew the puppy to me, she emailed me and said the puppy was very skittish because she (breeder) hurt her back and was unable to handle the puppies. Long story short, puppy was extremely aggressive! She bit three times in a week, even unprovoked, including my 6-year old in the face. She snarled at everyone.

I called a behaviorist who temperament-tested the 9-week old puppy and he told me to return her! She was unstable and a biter! Since this is not what I asked for, I sent her back to the breeder. I posted a review on PuppyFind that was deleted that day. I posted another one using husband's email and that was deleted. I guess PuppyFind does not accept negative reviews without documentation. Then I got a horrible email from the breeder and texts which went on for an entire day. Buy from a reputable breeder and skip PuppyFind!

We sent several emails back and forth and finally set a place to meet. Then a day later, I got a not so nice email from her and then the next thing she told me that she was not going to make the trip. We were to meet on the 2nd and on the 2nd I got back on Puppyfind to discover the pup I was to purchase from her was no longer on there. She didn't want me to have the pup and had another buyer. She should have just said so instead of all the BS she put me through and breaking a child's heart who thought they were getting a puppy. She has several different litters and I wouldn't buy one off her if she would bring it the whole way and deliver it to me now. I feel she lied to me.

As a result, under PA law, I received half my money back. My issue was when I posted negative feedback on PuppyFind. It was deleted by "someone" within a couple of days. It is my opinion that PuppyFind did it to protect the person who paid them to post puppies. I understand that the PA attorney general ordered Bullie Pups R Us to cease doing business in PA. As a result and upon further research, it seems that Mrs. ** has moved to Iowa, a state that has no Puppy lemon laws.

I would highly recommend, based on personal experience and the fact that the Attorney General of PA has banned her from doing business in the state, that you avoid the headaches I went through. I consider any company such as PuppyFind that they should have an obligation to the buyer and not allow negative reviews to be deleted. Just my 2 cents' worth. I would never trust or buy another puppy from PuppyFind or Traci **.

I have purchased 2 Yorkie puppies via Puppyfind and my reviews are mixed. We couldn't be happier with the first one so we decided to get another one, but the breeder we had bought the first puppy was about 5 hours away, so we looked at local breeders in Puppyfind. The first puppy is a Teacup so I wanted to find a similar size playmate and saw an ad for a Yorkie the breeder said would be 4-5 lbs fully grown. When I went to pick up the puppy, she looked big. I asked the breeder, "Your ad said she would be 4-5 lbs fully grown." She hesitated and said, "Yeah, 4-5 or maybe 6 lbs." That should have been my sign for me not to buy, but silly me. I thought this Amish lady wouldn't lie so I went with it. Well, I looked at the puppy weight chart a few weeks later and its projected weight fully grown was 7 lbs.

I posted a review on Puppyfind that the ad said the puppy to be 4-5 lbs and breeder told me maybe 5-6 lbs, but she is projected to be 7 lbs and a 7-lb. Yorkie wasn't what I was looking for and I wouldn't have paid that much for a 7-lb. Yorkie. I tried to be nice so I didn't use the words like duped or misled. Ever since I posted my review, I noticed that her ads now say they would be 4-7 lbs fully grown. I had more things to say, but I ran out of character limit in the review text box. The breeder said she started on the pee pad training. When we brought her home, it was obvious she had never been trained on it.

Anyway, two months later, I was notified by Puppyfind that the breeder claimed my review was invalid and it would be hidden from the public and they said I have two weeks to prove my review and submit supporting documents; otherwise, my review would be deactivated. Was I supposed to print out an ad saying she would be 4-5 lbs or record our conversation that the breeder was saying she would be 4-6 lbs? Any negative reviews they hide and tell buyers to go through the hassle hoping buyers would say, "Forget it," that it's not worth my time?

There are some reputable breeders listed in Puppyfind, but if breeders have no reviews or very few positive ones, please consider negative reviews are hidden and deleted by Puppyfind.

He had skin irritation, ears that needed flushing out, gingivitis and a piece of his ear missing! I asked for the following: current pictures of the pup, where I should send the deposit through Paypal, for an appointment to visit the pup, and other such things as temperament. The video displayed a woman with good English talking pleasantly with the pup. The email I received was from a medical supply company. My questions were ignored and I was told to call the husband to make an appointment as he or she was out of town. I left three messages with an automated system over a two-day period and sent three emails asking again, “Where do I send the deposit and can you tell me more about the pup?” I received no responses.

Then suddenly I received a response in broken English: "Do not bother, you ridiculous, you quack, refuse sale u." Needless to say I was quite upset to be slandered and because I asked questions to assure this was not a scam. I believe they used the YouTube video to sell a pup that they did not have and are a scam operation. It is called Tiny! Videos! in Orlando. Buyers beware.

On September 2, 2012, I purchased an 11-oz Yorkie female named Penelope from a Roxanne ** located supposedly in Dallas, Texas. I paid $750, which included shipping via Wal-Mart Moneygram at the seller's request. I was told I would receive the puppy on Labor Day Monday via airline which the closest airport to me is Amarillo International Airport which is 110 miles away from my home. On Sunday night, I got a message that the puppy is booked for flight and she is bathed and ready. She gave me all my instructions being this is my first time to purchase a dog online. Early on Monday morning, I got a text from Roxy that the puppy isn't flying in on Monday due to the holiday because they don't ship pets on holidays. I asked her to reassure me that this isn't a scam and she got really upset with me and tried to back out of the deal just because I asked for reassurance.

I called and left her a message stating I was sorry for the assumption. I was just worried about the transaction which I had already paid for. She messaged me back and said not to worry and that she will still send me the puppy but it will be Wednesday before I get her. Well, on Wednesday, she stated that due to using the credit card to pay for Monday's flight, she has to wait for the money to be refunded onto the card before she can book another flight but that it should happen today (Wednesday), so tomorrow on Thursday the puppy will be shipped. Thursday, I got a message that her daughter had a dental emergency and she will try to get her shipped out. So I got in my car and drove the 110 miles to Amarillo. I got another message from her when I asked if the puppy is coming in and she said no, it will be Sunday now. On Sunday, after I got off of work, I messaged Roxy and she said the airline frowns on rebooks therefore it will now be Tuesday before the puppy is shipped. So now on Tuesday, I got up and went to Amarillo. She texted me everything is as scheduled.

As I'm walking into the airport, she messaged me and told me that the puppy made it all the way to Houston and that she was turned back to Dallas because her vet health check was expired by a day. I'm very upset at this. She proceeded to tell me how sorry she was and that her husband will just drive to my town to bring me the dog, which never happened. I then told her, "Well, I'll meet you halfway at Snyder, Texas to pick up the puppy," and she said that she will talk to her husband about it. The next day, I made the offer again so on Friday we made plans to meet in Snyder and I'm set to leave really early to meet her instead of her husband. Late Thursday night, I checked with her to make sure everything is going as planned and she said this time that her daughter's friend's mom isn't giving her a direct answer on helping her out with her daughter if she's out of town so it's a ‘no’ on meeting. But now it's back to shipping the dog out on Sunday now.

So my children and I made a third trip back to Amarillo and we went to the airport. Roxy sent us a pic showing they are supposedly at the airport and we waited and waited. We waited until the very last flight came in at 10:30pm and no dog. Needless to say, my children and I are very sad and upset. I called, texted, and had my fiancé call her and got no reply. Finally, the next day (Monday), I messaged her and told her just to send my money back or I'm going to press charges because I'm obviously not going get the puppy. She completely went off on me and told me I have no case because I agreed to take the puppy. I told her yes, I did agree and I paid for the puppy in full. She was the one who didn't follow through on her end by sending the puppy. She then decided she is going to come and bring me the puppy. She told me she is coming to Tucumcari, NM which is 24 miles from my home and she is leaving on Friday, just her and her daughter.

I said okay and I anxiously waited. She messaged me off and on all day telling me how many miles away she is. About 10pm on Friday night, she messaged me and said she made it to the hotel and they are going go to bed because it was a long trip and her daughter really wanted to meet me. I said okay and I gave her the address to where I work. The next day (Saturday), I again waited for her and she never showed up. I decided to drive to Tucumcari to the motel she said she was at and I don't see the black SUV she said she was in. She finally messaged me on Sunday night and said oh, they ended up staying at the Drury Inn and Suites in Amarillo instead. So the next morning which is Monday, my aunt and I drove for the 4th time to Amarillo to the Drury Inn and Suites because she stated in her email that she will wait for me to come and pick up the puppy. We got to Amarillo and she wasn't waiting on me. She won't answer her phone, whether calling or texting. She won't answer email. Finally, I got an email that says they were at McDonald's and I drove to the closest one. There's no one in there that fits her description. (She sent a pic of her and the puppy.)

So I went to Petsmart and waited. I got an email asking where I am and she asked for the address of Petsmart because she would GPS it and meet us there. My aunt and I waited from 12pm until about 4pm and she never showed up. We finally came home disappointed as usual. Two days later, I finally get an email saying how sorry she was but her phone wasn't working and it was hard to communicate so her husband wanted her home so they drove back to Dallas. She said that the first thing she would do was refund my money and get her phone fixed. I asked her to PayPal my money to me or send a Moneygram to me. She said she was having a hard time getting it sent through PayPal. October 3, 2012 was the last time I heard from her. I never received my money or the puppy. I have sent her emails since and no reply. I just want my money back.

Con on Puppyfind - This is an update. I posted earlier that a seller took my money but never sent the puppy. She has justified to herself that she has the right to keep deposits even if she is the one that backs out of the contract. Beware of Ahava Afghans. Do not believe anything Cherie or her husband tells you. Get everything in writing and check your own airline flights. Here is the timeline of what happened to me. I contacted her and asked for pictures. We talked on the phone. She said puppy is show quality for $800 and flight would be around $345. I fell in love with the puppy and told her I wanted him. She sent me unsigned contract stating he was pet quality (over the phone she said show quality). Red flag #1. She then told me if I want him for show, I have to pay $1,000. Red flag #2.

I told her I wanted the show quality puppy for $800 as she originally stated. Later she agreed. I sent her $1,200 by wire and signed contract. She took the puppy to the airport, but she brought wrong size crate, so they wouldn't ship. She told me she had to get the largest kennel #700 and it cost $185. I called the airline to make reservations, and they said it would cost over $800 for the ticket. I called and told her I couldn't pay that much for the airline flight. She said no problem and she would refund my money. She also said he would probably fit in a #500 kennel but she couldn't find one.

That night I called all airlines and found a flight for about $600 and they had a crate. I sent her an email stating I might reconsider and get him. She never replied. I called. No reply. I emailed. No reply. I made the airline reservations, and since I couldn't reach her, I called her husband the next morning. He said they couldn't take the dog to the airport. I asked him to have her call me. She didn't. Days went by, she would not respond. Now I'm getting real nervous. They have my money. They have the dog. They will not answer phone or emails. Red flag #3.

I finally called the woman who she used as a reference. Anne was nice and succeeded in getting Cherie to write to me. Cherie stated we can give this another try, and then a half hour later, she wrote and said someone sent an email about the puppy and she wants to see if they want it. Of course, I’m upset. I have already paid! Beyond red flag. She sold the puppy to the other people and told me she wired the money. Lie. She did not wire anything. A week later I called Anne (the referral) again stating she still has my money. Anne succeeded again in getting Cherie to respond to me. Cherie stated she would mail my money. She sent a check for $800 with no note and apparently no conscience. This woman stole $400 from me and got away with it. Beware of Ahava Afghans.

I responded to an ad for an Afghan hound puppy. Cheri ** stated the puppy was show quality and the price was $800. She sent more pictures, and I said I wanted to buy him. Cheri then sent a contract stating puppy was not show quality; when I inquired about that, she stated she made a mistake and the price was $1000. When I told her I was not happy with that, she agreed to the $800 and revised the contract. I was happy again. Then, we started talking about the flight arrangements where she said (in writing) the flight cost would not go over $362. So, I agreed to send her the $800 plus $400 for the flight. I wired the money (I know stupid me!). So, she took the dog to the airport, and they would not fly the dog because he was too big for the kennel. She left and went to buy the #700 kennel, which cost would have been over $800, but she never went back to the airport. When I said I could not pay that much, she said okay, but she is keeping $300 of the nonrefundable deposit.

After hours of calls to airports, I found a flight that could take him in a #500 kennel; and that price is just over $600, which I told her I couldn’t pay and to please wire me back the money, which takes less than 5 minutes online. I have been trying to reach her, but she does not return my calls or emails. I spoke to her husband, but he doesn’t seem to know what is going on. I don’t know what to do now. She has $1,200 and has not returned it, yet she took the time to run another ad for that same dog. She still has the dog, and she is running another ad on Puppyfind (Razor) to get yet another deposit, I guess. I thought you all should know!

My one and only Puppyfind experience was from 2007 when I saw a listing for a Jack Russell terrier puppy for sale in Oklahoma. The pup was listed for $245, which included shipping. So, I paid the breeder through PayPal and received my pup 1 week later. Everything was fine with the pup; no medical issues; had shot records; no flight trauma. The only thing that was upsetting was I selected and paid for a white and brown female terrier, but what came in the airport shipping crate at the day of pickup was a male Jack Russell terrier with black and brown spotting. The breeder’s excuse when I emailed her about the mix-up was that she was sick and in bed and allowed her husband to take charge of shipping the pups out for the week. I wasn’t too happy with the carelessness. But because I was only looking to buy a family pet and not a show or breeding dog, I just accepted what I was dealt.

People will contact you asking if the puppy is still available and then tell you they will pay by money order then come back and say that an agent will come pick it up and that they "by mistake" sent out two money orders and would cash them both and send the extra back by Western Union money transfer?

I have had more scams than I would like but use the puppyfind.com website to sell as I want to give people a place to find a great AKC Brittany puppy and not from a puppymill either. I give references of people who have bought from me before and emails back and forth where I ask prospective buyers questions and they ask me as well so that they get a puppy that will be a match to their family.

I don't have a single owner that is disappointed and give a vet health check and the buyer can contact me and even the buyers from previous owners as well to make sure their puppy is healthy as well. I encourage my buyers to keep in touch and have had them return to buy a second puppy and to refer my name to others and have them buy from me as well.

It's sad to see how people on both sides have been scammed and don't like to see this but I encourage you to find a puppy near you and I encourage people to come and visit to see me, the puppies, to choose for themselves and to look over the pedigree as well. Then make a choice.

I have sent a puppy to Hawaii, Iowa and have even met the buyer where I drove to meet them half way and all are happy with their purchase. Please check out, sellers yes, but I am not a bad breeder, I take pride in my AKC Brittany and have only the one female and breed only once a year. I am a small private breeder of Italian Greyhounds. I do list my puppies on PuppyFind. I know there are a lot of complaints about PuppyFind and the different breeders. It's not all about the buyers getting ripped off. The breeders selling must be careful too. I do tell people that are looking for a puppy to do some homework on your breeder. After all, you put time into researching the breed of dog that you want. Some ads say "Pups are in home raised or socialized". Check this out:

#1) Does the pup have AKC? If not than it may be a mixed breed. Poodles mixed with labs can get CKC reg.

#2) When you open your puppies page to read the info. go to the bottom and click on (view all listings by the breeder) You may be very surprised. This will show you all the puppies they are selling. Sometimes you will find 4 or 5 different breeds of dog all different ages and 36 puppies for sale. Then they try to say, In home raised. I say, NO WAY! You may have found a puppy-mill or a large Kennel.

#3) Click on (read reviews) Did you know the breeders are allowed to delete the reviews they don't like? So, also ask for their references, people that have gotten their pups in the past. Name and no#, then call them, at least 3 of them. Ask the people about the health of their dog. Was it really socialized and loving? Did they see the parents of the pup? Was the puppy flown? If so, were all agreements met?

PuppyFind is for advertising. They do give you some tools you can use to check up on your breeder. We all want a happy, healthy and beautiful puppy. I am honest and my pups are great. can prove it. I don't mind if someone asks me a lot of questions, because I too ask a lot of questions. I do care where my puppies go. I do not sell to puppy-mills or large kennels. Don't get me wrong. There are a lot of good kennels out there. They feed there dogs well, exercise, give very good health care, but my pups would not adjust to a Kennel. Do your homework on your breeder. Good luck finding a healthy, happy, puppy.

My civil rights have been infringed upon. I am a breeder and owner of many English Bulldogs. I have purchased many dogs with friends of mine that we co-own together. When we breed the dogs, some litters are raised by me, some are raised by my friends, etc. We do this so that we don’t have too many dogs at one location and so that each dog gets the proper attention at their homes. Nonetheless, we split all profits from litters. I am the main financial source of the purchases of all dogs that reside both in my home and at my friends’ homes. Many people go into this endeavor together and structure it this way for the best interest of the dogs. I have been a loyal customer advertising puppies on Puppyfind.com and paid for their services for over 6 years now.

Recently, my account was terminated by Puppyfind.com due to claims that all litters are not physically raised in my home yet I am co-owner on all litters as so are my friends when I am the one raising the litters. They claim that I have violated their terms of service and terminated my account because all litters are not physically in my presence at all time and raised by me yet I am legally the co-owner as I own the parents and compensate my friends for half the litter for helping to raise them. Their claim is that the breeder is legally someone who raises the litter when that is not true or factual. Legally, the breeder is the owner of the dam and/or the sire, which I am on all dogs that I sell puppies for.

Many people within the US hire others to raise the litters that they have bred. So should the hired nanny be the breeder in their eyes? My account has been terminated for no legitimate legal reason. This policy is not listed anywhere in their terms of service, the definition of breeder is not listed anywhere on their site. This is a personal decision based on their or one person’s personal feelings and discrimination and it is a pure violation to my rights as a consumer. I am looking for others who have been victimized by their unethical business practices to form a class action lawsuit. My loss of income from sales is in excess of an estimated $50,000.

I bought an Old English Sheepdog from one of this website vendors. The puppy was found to be deaf. The seller, after promising a partial refund, blocked my emails. I went on this site and saw the seller Patti ** was selling another litter. On the site, you can sign in if you are buying/selling a dog. And on each seller’s ad is a 5 star rating of buyer’s satisfaction. I wrote a factual 989 word account of her business practices with documented emails and vet reports to send to any buyer. I sent her an email from that site notifying her of my review, with my email address for anyone to contact me. I found the next morning that my review was removed and the seller’s 5 star rating was restored. I emailed Puppyfind.com asking why and who removed it, as the 5 star rating is not reflective of Patti **'s business practices and pet health guarantees. They responded stating that the seller has the right to ask that any negative feedback be removed.

That to me is on the verge of purposeful misrepresentation. I was told that I could appeal and had 7 days to do so, which I am doing. However, the buyer’s rights don’t seem to be supported on this site, as I could not find a seller on the entire site that did not have a % star rating! Buyer, beware on this site.

I am not writing to complain, but to warn. I am a Vizsla breeder, not a professional breeder, but I have bred my two personal pets. I have had my puppies on Puppyfind and been very successful selling them. Both times, I have sold all the puppies before the 8 week mark (as I do not let the puppies go to their new homes until 9 weeks, because I give a health guarantee and make sure they have had their first round of shots are fully on puppy chow and ready to leave). I have had several emails which were scams. Anytime anyone emails, they say they will send you a money order for over the amount and want you to give a shipping agent the remainder. This is a scam!

I interview every family that is interested in my puppies. If I do not speak to them on the phone personally, I do not continue to email any response. I accept only cash or check for my deposits and only release the puppy from my listing until the check has cleared the bank, if I have not personally met the owners as I have sold puppies to people in several states. Since I am a seller, I have not seen the scams that go across to a buyer but as a seller, I have had many emails which were scams. Usually, if the email is in broken English, then I immediately know that it's a scam. At that point, I respond that I will only take cash for the puppy.

It's sad that people will scam in this way, but they do. So, sellers, beware as well the scam works both ways!

"You're lucky to have mailed at this time because the puppy has just been placed on adoption by one of my customers, who went on a Missionary transfer with the West African Missionaries, West Africa Nigeria. He is giving the pup up for adoption for $300 because he can't take good care of the pup due to his busy and tight schedule at church and at his missionary work. All he wants is someone that's homely and a caring person to adopt this young and lovely human best friend. He will give the Puppy to you if you promise to take good care of the puppy. He needs a neat and caring home for his puppy because he really wants the puppy to go to a good home. If you are willing to take the puppy contact the Reverend. Thanks."

I sent a followup email to the reverend and got this reply:

"Hello. My name is Reverend Jonathan **. The puppy is still up for adoption. May the peace of the Lord be with you. I am in the climax of my missionary training which I am very happy about. I was posted to Nigeria (West Africa) for a missionary assignment which will round up my missionary school. My love for God has changed so many lives and brought hope to the lost. My puppy is a KC reg and ready for a good home. She is potty trained, loves kids and other domestic pets and up to date with all her shots, also vet checked and medically certified. Due to its my first time of coming to Nigeria, I needed someone to keep me company. I came along with Nina to keep me company. Presently my busy schedules and travels all over Nigeria is not giving me the chance to take care of Nina. I am really not happy about adopting Nina out and Nina is not happy but really have no choice. I have prayed to God about this and I'm still waiting for the right person to take perfect care of Nina for me. My puppy's name is Nina and she is 12 weeks. I am in search for a good and caring person for Nina. I am presently in West Africa, Nigeria with the puppy. I will be giving Nina out for free but $300 will be needed for her shipping, handling and other charges for shipment to commence. If interested in giving Nina a good home get back to me with your full shipping information."

I went to google and check Rev. Jonathan ** and got absolutely nothing pertinent, but when I googled the phone numbers, I found the Nigerian Puppy Scam. I am reporting this so that no one gets scammed. I was lucky. I am computer savvy and don't fall for scams so quickly.

We need to use peanuts to ship due to weather." You would never put a puppy in peanuts, it would die. I told her that I confirmed the $460.00 with her several times and that I am not going to send anymore money. I asked her to send my money back.

Her last email stated, "It doesn't have to come to that, I will pay the $80.00 and you send me the $100.00." My response was, "No, please send me my money." I emailed this woman for 3 days for my money, to date no emails and no money. I contacted Puppyfind.com. I placed a "free" ad on PuppyFind for one puppy. I soon received an email stating that many people had looked at my ad but unless I paid to upgrade the membership, no one would see my contact info unless they themselves pay for a membership. I quickly decided that this site is ridiculous and went to delete my account. I soon found out that there is no way to delete your account so I just deleted the puppy ad. I then continued to get emails stating how many people saw my ad and that I should pay to upgrade. Their emails have no way to unsubscribe (which is illegal) and there is no contact info on the site. All you can do is use their contact form.

I used the contact form and told them to delete my account and stop emailing me. Now today I got an email stating that my account was upgraded and the last 4 digits of a credit card. I knew we never gave them our credit card info so I looked for a way to contact them again. I soon came across a complaint forum where a woman gave out their secret phone number (888-740-5870). I went to their website, logged in and gave them a call. As I talked to the woman, she said very nonchalant that if we did not give them our credit card info, then someone hacked my account. She said that it happens all the time. As I talked with her, my account email address changed and puppy ads for 2 types of puppies were put on my account.

She got very confused and asked how I got onto the account. I tried to explain that it was my account but she was very confused. She then just kept making excuses for the company and said that nothing that happens on the site or with the accounts is their fault. She also commented that they are too small of a business to keep everything secure. In the end, I asked her to stop arguing and making excuses and just delete my account and stop emailing me like I asked. I have now found complaints everywhere online that state that people are getting ripped off on their site nonstop and they do not care as long as they get the membership fees.

Note that she was 19 months when I bought her. She did have very stinky breath when I got her and I did plan on taking her in to get a dental cleaning but when her teeth started to fall out, I called and they got her right in. Her doctor said that she had very bad and infected gums. He didn’t even have to pull the teeth, they just fell out and so she lost 5 teeth. Also, he is keeping an eye on her K-9's because he said her tongue will hang out off to the side without them.

I email Cindy on Puppyfind and she pulled all her puppies and has not contacted me. I asked for $400.00 refund or a choice on the next litter. Truly, she should not be a breeder anyways. She also has an umbilical hernia that she never told me about.

On April 25, 2009, I found a 13-week-old pug on PuppyFind that I was interested in. I contacted a Gloria ** who was the seller. She answered my inquiry about the puppy instantaneously. Her response: She told me I was lucky to have emailed her at this time because the puppy had been sold but the new owner had to put it up for adoption. Apparently, the new owner went on a missionary transfer with the West African Missionaries. She told me he is giving the pup up for adoption for $350 because he cannot take good care of the pup due to his busy schedule at the Missionary. She told me all he wants is someone with a good Christian home to adopt the pup. If I was still interested in adopting the pup I should contact Rev. Benjamin **.

I immediately sent an email to Rev. **. His reply: “Thanks for the email, and yes the puppy is still for sale.” He told me the pup is health guaranteed, and AKC registered. The Rev. informed me he is not currently in the States due to his missionary work and the pup whose name is Luna is with him. He went on to say there was no one to take care of Luna and due to the harsh weather in Nigeria, he has decided to place her up for adoption. If I was still interested, I was to send him all the necessary information so he could contact the shipping agent to make arrangements immediately. On April 26, 2009, I sent the $350 through Western Union. Rev. ** emailed me the payment had been received and Luna would be shipped out and I would be able to pick her up at the airport the next day.

On April 27, 2009, Rev. ** informed me an additional fee of $550 would have to be paid for insurance purposes. Until this payment was made, shipment of Luna would be delayed. On April 28, 2009, I sent the $550. Luna was to be shipped immediately. On April 29, 2009, I received an email from the shipping company (deliverylady@deliveryman.com) telling me Luna was held in Mexico due to custom charges and custom duties. An additional $400 was required before Luna could leave Mexico. I immediately contacted Rev. ** regarding this matter. The Rev. told me to send out the additional $400 and he gave his assurance that the additional fees of $300 and $500 would be refunded to me once I picked the puppy up. (Now I realized I'm being scammed big time.)

I contacted Rev. ** and requested the name of the airport and the phone number to verify if Luna was in Mexico. The Rev. told me the shipping company would not disclose this information until the addition $400 was paid. I contacted the Rev. once again and informed him the original price for Luna was $350. With all the additional charges added, I have paid $900. Until he can provide the information to prove Luna was in Mexico, no more money will be exchanged. I informed Rev. ** without this information, this transaction will be null and void. At this point, I told the Rev. I didn't know how he wanted to handle this situation, but I would like my money back. The good Rev. ** must have dropped off the face of the earth. I haven't heard from him since.

I feel PuppyFind is attracting puppy mill-type breeders, and they don't screen any postings. I wish the Dept. of AG would pass a nationwide law to regulate puppy mills and make it hard for them to exist. I believe if dogs were limited to 25 dogs for all breeds for one residence, limit the number of litters a female can have to 5 in her lifetime, not having a litter under 18 months of age and not over 8 years of age, it would be hard for a puppy mill type breeder to live on their profits. These people breed any two dogs together of the same breed not researching what characteristics will improve the breed. They do not do any health testing. They are vague about producing a pedigree or any kind of health clearances. Please pass legislation to address this and please don't buy from PuppyFind. They have lots of fraudulent postings. Contact AKC regarding a breed club of your choice, which breeders are bound to abide by the club's code of ethics and principles of integrity, therefore getting a sound healthy puppy. The owner of Touch of Magic Dog Grooming, Diane C. acted as the seller/advertiser (puppyfind.com)for the Miniature Pinscher Puppy that was purchased from her as well as a breeder from Blackwell, Oklahoma named Debbie L. The puppy immediately became sick less than 12 hours after my boyfriend, Marlon Fair and I brought her to our home at Hackensack, NJ 07601 on Sunday July 13th, 2008. After visiting 3 Animal Hospitals, on July 15th, 2008 Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ diagnosed our puppy with the Parvovirus, however both Diane C. (Seller/Advertiser) and Debbie L. (Breeder/Seller) both assured both my boyfriend Marlon and I that the puppy we purchased was completely up to date with her shots.

Currently, both Diane C. and Debbie L. have a Min Pin puppy that is my puppy's sister, that was kept in the same cage as my puppy less that 12 hours before my puppy showed signs of what we found out was the Parvovirus. Due to the fact that the my puppy's sister was in close direct contact with our infected dog before she was sold to us, means that she has the virus as well. Diane C. and Debbie L. have been advertising my puppy's sister on puppyfind.com, knowing that the puppy they sold us has the Parvovirus. Several documented phone call attempts have been placed to Diane C. to solve this issue of the puppy the she advertised and sold to us having the Parvovirus and she rufuses to accept our phone calls to dicuss how we the purchaser are entitled to a full refund of the puppy purchased and full reimbursement of the cost of veterinary fees, as well as the right to return to unfit puppy back to Debbie L. and Diane C. because they are covered under the State of New Jersey Pet Lemon Law, which states the following: "If the pet is ill or defective, the buyer has the right to either a replacement or a full refund plus, in both cases, full reimbursement of the cost of veterinary fees to certify that the dog was unfit for purchase." "New Jersey's pet buyer protection laws cover anyone selling pets for profit, which in practice exempts only humane societies and pounds. It covers pet stores, kennels, and breeders, including hobby breeders."

We have been issued a Veterinary Certification of Unfitness (Tested strong Parvo positive with intense vomiting, diarrhea, and anorexia.) from the Oradell Animal Hospital located at Paramus, NJ on July 15th, 2008. Upon finding out that the puppy tested positive for Parvovirus Debbie L. was contacted by my myself on July 15th, 2008 to arrange a time when we could return the puppy and get our money back for vet costs as well as the price of the puppy. Debbie L. explained to me that she was not willing to arrange a time for us to transfer ownership of the puppy because she felt that she did not have to pay for her vet bills. An attempt to contact Diane C. was made July 15th as well and she avoided all phone calls from us.

We are requesting a full refund of the puppy purchased and full reimbursement of veterinary fees, as well as the right to return the unfit puppy back to Debbie L. (Breeder) and Diane C. (Seller/Advertiser) because we are covered under the State of New Jersey Pet Lemon Law. The purchase price of the puppy was $400.00 and the disputed amount including veterinary bills and cost of puppy totals to $3300.00.

Again, On Wednesday March 16th 2008 there was another post selling English Bulldog puppies on PUPPYFIND.COM with my information. I once again called PUPPYFIND.COM customer service to again complain and have the ad removed which they did so. I asked that my name and phone number (BASIC INFORMATION) be deleted from their data base because I do not, nor ever have used their business.

They (Sheila Havrish, Manager of PUPPYFIND>COM Customer Service) stated to me, "We are doing everything in our power to avoid scams, and we have a technical team which works 24/7 to avoid and stop these scams." I reiterated to her while that is great, I would again like to state I want my name and phone number to no longer appear on this site. I feel I have reported this error by their business, which for one gives others (those doing the scams) the clear opportunity to slander my reputation. I currently feel it is now their negligence if my name and information again appear on PUPPYFIND.COM website, since I have clearly stated I do not want my information on their website.

Mrs. Havarish told me, "We do not have the technology to keep your name and number off of our website." I believe if they have the funding in their budget, and the need to employ others to monitor the PUPPYFIND.COM website, as Mrs. Harvest stated, 24/7 then they should already have the technology to avoid future scams under the same information from happening. I believe I have done everything I can to aid their business by reporting the scam. I have no complaints regarding Mrs. Havarish directly or their customer service department regarding their attitude towards me. I DO THOUGH BELIEVE THEY (PUPPYFIND.COM) OWE IT TO THOSE LIKE MYSELF WHOM HAVE REPORTED SUCH A SCAM TO AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN TO BOTH THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS AND THOSE LIKE MYSELF WHOM REPORTED THE SCAM. THEY NOW HAVE MY INFORMATION AND SHOULD DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO ASSURE OTHERS AND MYSELF, MY INFORMATION (name and phone number) WILL NO LONGER BE USED ON THEIR SITE BY SCAM ARTISTS ATTEMPTING TO USE MY REPUTATION TO FURTHER THEIR ILLEGAL PURPOSE.

In reference to current economic loss, I have used my own time during breaks from work to stop the scams, by reporting them to customer service. I have made many long distance calls to those calling my phone number and leaving a message on my answering machine. I feel virtue of my own morality, and reputation to call these possible future victims of this scam back to aid in avoiding them from falling victim to this scam, which will cost them financial loss. I feel my reputation and name if used again, as I feel will happen since they are not doing everything they can to stop this from happening again is negligence on their behalf.
