I have used Frontline before and it worked on both my dog and cats. This year the results have been horrible. The product seemed to work for less than a week and now all my animals are reinfested with fleas. My son is even diligent in flea combing the kittens but to no avail. I will no longer purchase this product. My vet even said that Advantage was the better product. Too bad I did not know that before I bought Frontline.

For years, we have used Frontline Plus on both our Scotties. We had them vaccinated against Lyme disease and both had their booster shots. Today, August 14th, we took our Scotties to the vet because Bonnie was limping. She was diagnosed with Lyme disease. You can draw your own conclusions about its effectiveness against Lyme infected ticks. My opinion, it did not work and I'll be looking for an alternative medication.

Put Frontline on my 2-year old, perfectly healthy cat. Now, it is one week later and he has brown drool around his mouth, tongue flickering, and will not eat or drink! I am taking him to the vet. He is dehydrated, lethargic, third eyelids showing, shallow breathing, extremely weak. I will never use this product again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. In fact, if my Lucky dies, Frontline will hear from me! Whether they care or not. I hand nursed this cat for six weeks, every 2 to 4 hrs around the clock because his mother abandoned him. He was covered in ants, and he is totally deaf. Now, to have this happen is extremely upsetting! This little guy does not deserve this!

I purchased Frontline products Plus for my cats trying to get rid of fleas. It states on the box that it is fast acting. The product absolutely doesn't work. My cats still have fleas and are paying the price for it. They are charging way too much for this product to not work. I have purchased advantage before within a 24 hour period to a week. Everything starts clearing up. I want my money back. I will never purchase this product again. One person called and followed their instructions and her cat is now dead. This happens to my animals I will be taking further action.

I have religiously used Frontline every year on my cats. Never had a problem with fleas, the medication did its job. Suddenly this year Frontline is not as effective as it has been in the past. I treated all 3 of my cats plus a new puppy and although the fleas have lessened they are still there. I vacuum daily, wash pet bedding weekly and have even used Knockout ES house spray. The fleas seem to be only on the pets as we never have fleas jump on us from carpet or furniture. I check the cat's bellies and "armpits" daily for flea dirt but only find it on their neck and tail areas. Why does the box say it can take up to 3 doses to become completely effective? It was never like this before. One dose and fleas were gone. I have one more dose to give before I can contact the company for a refund. If fleas are not gone by then I better get my $$ back.

I have spent at least an extra $100 on all this stuff all because FRONTLINE DIDN'T WORK. JUST MORE PHONY CRAP ON THE MARKET THAT TAKES YOUR MONEY.

I have had a ten year old cat for 8 months. I used Frontline twice and it seemed to work. Now the fleas are out of control. I have found some that are "half dead" but as others have suggested, it definitely didn't work. I can't really give my cat a bath as she is old and unaccustomed but I am not sure what to do. We have washed everything and have very little carpet. I am even itchy and have flea bites although I have not caught any on me. I have found tons of black "pepper" or flea feces everywhere after washing everything. I am not sure if it's safe to apply another product on my poor kitty. I did catch her successfully licking herself and now I am worried she will be sick (luckily she is ok for now). I would love to know what to do next.

I adopted a shelter cat and put Frontline plus on him. The cat was itching and scratching continually as if the Frontline wasn't working. 5 days later I see fleas hopping off of him. I have not had an animal in this house for almost 2 years and do not have any problems with fleas. In the past, I tried Frontline on my cats and it didn't work so I went to Advantage which always did the trick. Against my better judgement I decided to try Frontline again and it doesn't seem to be working. My poor cat has allergic dermatitis because of flea bites now and I have to wait 3 weeks to switch to Revolution. Spent 56 dollars for nothing and company warranty is BS. Why would I continue to use a product that doesn't work for 2 more months in order to get my money back? Disgusted with this company.

Fleas are terrible this year. I've lived in New Mexico for over 23 years and have never seen one flea on my dogs. This year we have gotten a lot of rain.... especially for a desert state. And I have seen fleas on my dogs! The scary thing is that fleas can carry the plague and at least 10 dogs and cats in our area have contracted plague this summer and a 52 year old woman contracted the plague last month... and died! I just spent $50.00 and applied Frontline on my 3 dogs last week and today I found more fleas on them!! Argghhh! Frontline is supposed to be guaranteed to repel and kill fleas for up to 3 months with just one application!! But that is false advertising and false guarantee! Frontline Plus is a total waste of money!

Me and my husband bought Frontline Plus for my little dog and one cat. Well I gave my animals a bath. Dried them off completely and applied Frontline like instructed me to and I waited a day hoping I wouldn't see any fleas. I'm not satisfied with Frontline at all. They both still had bunches of fleas so I thought ok wait and reply next month. Did that and still they both had fleas all over and they itched so bad so I'm a little upset. I have a family and we can't afford to waste $80 on something that does nothing to prevent them or kill them, so basically I will never waste my money again on Frontline and if anyone ask my opinion it will be don't waste your money on Frontline. Very disappointed in the product.

BUT just recently I have noticed on the back of my American Staffy's neck, just above his shoulders a patch of missing hair and a sore about 15 cm x 6 cm where I had put the liquid. The sore looks very painful and is very itchy when touched. It is oozing and hair just falls out when touched! On top of that the fleas are BACK with a vengeance! I will not be using again!

Do you love your pet? Then don't use Frontline, Advantage, or Advantix! Topical flea, tick, and de-worming products such as Frontline and Advantix are toxic to animals and need to be taken off the market. They are dangerously harming people's pets at an alarming rate. My purpose is to file a complaint to stop the administration of these products to pets, and to get the word out about these flea, tick, and de-worming products to prevent others from making the same uninformed mistake I did and unknowingly harm your dog. Dogs can have mild to extremely adverse effects to these products, including Frontline, in particular. Many products have different active ingredients, but they all work in similar and harmful ways. They are toxic and stay away from them!
Unfortunately, we were one of the dangerous and life-threatening cases after applying this stuff. Our German Shepherd, Schatzi, had an adverse reaction FOUR times to different brands of what is basically the same thing. The first time Schatzi became so lethargic she didn't eat or drink much for a few months. She slept ALL the time and didn't even bark when the doorbell rang (she ALWAYS barks!). Took her to the vet 3 different times about this and said they couldn't find anything wrong other than dehydration. I asked about a correlation with this product and they said NO WAY! Applied the product a 2nd time 6 months later, and noticed the same odd behavior and unsteadiness. The vet again said it couldn't be the topical we gave her and thought she was depressed from being lonely.
Gave Schatzi the 3rd dose about 6 months later because she was scratching so much. I thought she had fleas and the vets insisted it was safe. Within three hours, Schatzi had no control over her hind legs and was panicking and shaking uncontrollably. I will never forget the fear in her eyes. Took her to the emergency room. By the time we arrived, Schatzi could walk but was not herself. The Vet did thorough blood work and found nothing. I showed him the box of Frontline I applied and said over and over again I thought it was the cause of these problems, but he insisted it wasn't possible. He said the side effects included on the box was preventative and it would take such an extremely high dose to have any kind of reaction; it wasn't really possible.
A month later, we found our dog on the floor convulsing, foaming at the mouth, and completely paralyzed. She couldn't breathe and we thought we were watching her die. It was horrifying to witness. We calmed down enough to stop the convulsing and took her to the emergency room again. They admitted her into Intensive Care for a week! Tested and x-rayed her for possible meningitis or spinal tumor, but still found nothing wrong. Took Schatzi to a new vet who also insisted it couldn't be the topical, but my gut still knew otherwise. She gave us a different brand to use because it had different active ingredients and insisted it would be fine. I never used it, though, for fear of another adverse reaction.
A year later, which is now, Schatzi had her fourth topical treatment for flea, tick, and heartworm. We found several ticks on Schatzi, worms in her stool, and she was scratching a lot. I got out the Advantage Multi our vet sold us and insisted was safe, even for our dog who had severe reactions with Frontline, and applied it. Six hours later, we found Schatzi on the carpet seizuring, unable to move, and had no control over her bowls. I knew it was the Advantage Multi I put on her. This could not be a coincidence FOUR times!
Called the Advantage Emergency Hotline and she said they'd never heard of a reaction before and she couldn't tell me how to get this stuff off or what to do. She was only interested in the lot number on the Advantage box! I told her she should Google what this product is doing to people's pets. There are thousands of pet owners online complaining of these same adverse effects of these flea and tick products. We got Schatzi in the tub right away and shampooed as much of this out as we could (I know now to use liquid dish soap instead of shampoo because it's a better de-greaser to get this waterproof product off. These products start absorbing into the skin immediately, so time is of the essence. Once the Advantage Multi was removed, our dog became noticeably better.
Time will only tell if Schatzi will have residual complications from this as she has in the past. No one should be applying these toxic flea, tick, and worm prevention products to their pets, as it is toxic, can cause neurological damage, renal failure, skin disease, and even death. They are pesticides that are not safe for animal or human contact and need to be investigated.

Got the Frontline for cats, put it on. 4 days later they still have fleas. Called the company, told them the cats still had fleas. After listing for 15 minutes I find out that the guarantee on the box is not right. They only cover if you use the product for 3 months, at 60$ (three doses) each month. That's a lot of money. If it didn't work the first (as it says on the box) why would anyone buy more? Frontline is a rip off. I'm going back to Advantage. I know it works (the first time).

I used Frontline plus as a preventative for fleas before a litter of pups. Needless to say, somehow the pups had fleas at day 3. Because of the pups nursing I haven't been able to use another chemical brand, so all I've been able to do is try and control them through baths. At 4 weeks now my dog's hair starts falling off...even with baths every 3 days. Now I have to explain to people who are picking up pups why my dog looks mangy. Umm don't use Frontline is going to be my answer. I’m at a $110 loss on the stuff plus vet bills. I honestly don't see how they can keep selling it.

Had to resort to several rounds of Capstar (which was recommended by my vet) for weeks after, so Frontline obviously didn't kill eggs or larvae, either. I have been using Frontline for many years now with no problem at all, but in recent years my pets flea problem has grown out of control. I have applied Frontline for the past 2 months with no results. In fact, our flea problem has gotten substantially worse. How is that if I'm putting a "working" product on my pets? Also, I've noticed something else. For the years, my dear Golden Retriever and my cat have been having dry skin issues, causing them to itch nonstop.
For a while I thought it was just because I wasn't getting all the shampoo off of their skin, but found it was because of this product. My Golden also has suffered from appetite loss after Frontline is applied. Again, not realizing that this product was cause this. I chalked it up to a common stomachache. But after much research, I found that it was caused by this product. I'm pissed off at this brand. I have used it for so long and was rather happy with it. So what went wrong?

I have two cats. I used frontline once last summer 2014 proactively after cat escaped and never saw a flea. This summer 2015 forgot to and came home from long vacation to find many fleas from the Norwegian Forest Cat being allowed outside a few times. I used up the package from last year in June. The cats scratched much less but a month later began scratching more and we saw a few fleas on the white short hair. We have prevented the cats from going outside.
Since I thought maybe the 2014 product was less effective due to its age, I bought a new 6 pack of Frontline Plus from Costco. It has been several days since application and both cats are scratching and I still see fleas on short hair cat. I intend to use it another month. Because so far no poor side effects and in 2000-2007 I used it often and it was magical. I suspect fleas have become immune to Frontline, but maybe it still varies in different regions. In 2000 a vet warned me that all flea medications have 15-20 years of effectiveness. If this is the case, then Frontline needs to stop selling it.

I am diligent about flea medications and heartworm medications. I was using Advantage II with NO problems. My neighbor, who works in pest control was surprised because it is a bad year for fleas in my area. While using Advantage II she had NO FLEAS. He said not to stop what we were using. But, I switched to Frontline Plus two months ago because it allegedly repels ticks, too. She had a flea on her last month, so we bathed her and cleaned the carpets. The vet told us to try one more month and we are sorry that we did. We brushed and bathed her before she went to my family's house this past weekend. She did not have any on her and they don't have fleas in their house but she sure did come home with them from a hike and their backyard!! She can barely do anything because she is scratching so bad. I gave her a bath last night, and there were at least 40 fleas in the water.
I am so angry that I spent so much money on flea prevention and she has them anyway! But that doesn't even compare to how angry I am that my poor dog is suffering. I am calling the vet today to see if I can apply the Advantage II early. There is no reason that my dog should have to suffer when we are so careful about her healthcare and took appropriate steps to make sure she wouldn't get them. I will never use this product ever again and I will find other ways to repel or prevent ticks.

On May 7, 2015 one of my three cats had a severe allergic reaction to Frontline Plus for Cats. He was a healthy, nine-month old domestic tabby named Rascal. Within 10 minutes of the application, I found in the litter box, unable to move. His pupils were contracted, he had lost control of his hind legs, and seemed to be in shock. I removed him from the box, and set him on the floor. He was unable to stand. I immediately began washing his body, called my son and we had him at the vet within half an hour. After the initial examination, we were told that he had a very low temperature, and alarmingly low blood pressure, as well as severe neurological damage. They called Poison Control and were told that his symptoms were like those when a cat is given Frontline Plus for Dogs. He was given the appropriate product for his size and age, in the appropriate amount.
The emergency vet wanted to keep him overnight, however, the cost would have been between $1400 and $3500, so we elected to bring him home and monitor him. We were given some antibiotics, and hoped he would come around. However, within a few hours we noticed blood in his stool, and he was having seizures. We rushed him back to the vet, however, he passed away while we were en route. Our beloved little Rascal died within six hours of this first treatment with Frontline Plus for Cats.
I have never witnessed anything as horrible, and feel very angry that he was not treated appropriately. He obviously had an allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock), and I am very, very concerned that this product is on the market. There are no warnings on the packaging related to allergic reactions. We miss Rascal very much, and I am posting this review to warn others. I am especially concerned for people who also have small children, who might pet a cat after an application and become exposed. I have reported this incident to Merial, have joined a class action suit against them, and am reporting this to the EPA. We had a necropsy done, and clearly, our beloved cat died from this first application of Frontline Plus for Cats.

Used Frontline consistently for years with a now 12-yr old JRT. It has always worked. We would get an occasional tick, but no fleas. This year, in traveling from Colorado to the Southeast, she has picked up fleas and we cannot get rid of them. We have applied Frontline monthly and correctly. We have bathed her in flea shampoo and today, back in Colorado, I have sprayed her with a flea guard to kill ones on her now. I found six. We washed her bedding and toys several times, vacuumed carpets and sofas, washed rugs. Still fleas. No other way to say it, Frontline was totally ineffective. Without a doubt, something has changed in the product. I am two months into a new box; it's not working either.
I should not have waited this long to try something different but I did not want to subject my pet to another product when Frontline had always been effective with no known side effects. I called Frontline today. After hearing the spill of how the product is supposed to work, I was finally told if I can find my receipts for the product to prove I used it for three consecutive months, then I can "apply" for a refund. I understand having to prove I purchased the product. But because the date of purchase on the box I currently am using will only show that I have had it for a couple of months, that will not be sufficient. The product even states that a one time application can control fleas, flea eggs and flea larvae up to 3 months. I have used without a break for six months. It has FAILED! Satisfaction guaranteed??? Yes, some consumer advocate org involvement would help.

She was so heartbroken to realize that his death could have been prevented. This stuff poisoned him. I have 2 large furballs & even though I live in an endemic area, I've have never had a huge problem with ticks, so I don't put it on them until I've seen the 1st one & then monthly until it gets cold again & never encounter another one. Not even a dead one! Did the same thing this year, only went a step further & treated our yard... Well, either ticks numbers have quadrupled, or they're becoming resistant. We are 2.5 wks since applying it, & I have seen at least 1 live tick per day for the last 5 days... However, none have bitten the dogs, so maybe they're dropping off & going to die elsewhere. Still, I'm gonna try anvantix next month coz this is really bad!

I purchased a fairly large quantity of Frontline Plus for dogs as I have several dogs. This was very expensive but it was necessary as heading into summer there are many ticks where I live. I applied the Frontline to all my dogs (making sure I used the correct product relevant to dog weight) on 3 May. It is now 10 May and one of my dogs is still covered with ticks and I'm finding ticks on most of my other dogs too. I think this is disgraceful bearing in mind the price of Frontline. I will never purchase this product again.

Caring for your dog correctly can be expensive and a learning process. By recommendation from my vet I purchased Frontline Plus for my 10lb Maltipoo. The only positive thing I have to say regarding this product is my fur baby didn't have any ticks, however he was completely infested with fleas. I have Frontline another shot the following month - negative, fleas love that **. Long story short, about five months later I finally got a refund from the manufacturer. Complete waste of my hard earned cash. Thankfully I was able to get a refund, and purchased the flea and tick pill by the same company. Works like a charm. Two months later not a little critter in sight.

I recently opened a cattery. I have a building designed and built specifically to meet the needs and comfort of the cats in my care. I have colony cages, windows, climate control, etc. I paid over $2000 for my stud male. (In other words, although I currently reside in the state of Missouri, and puppy and kitten mills abound here, I am not one of them.) I bought my cats over the course of a few months and began breeding them. One of the cats I bought had fleas and I did not notice it at the time of purchase. So, of course, it became necessary to treat all of the cats. Because some of the girls were already bred and expecting litters, it was vital to find a treatment that was guaranteed to be safe on pregnant and lactating cats. It is specifically stated on Frontline's packaging and website that all Frontline products are safe for pregnant and lactating queens. I confidently treated all of my cats.
Our first litters were due in April and our entire family waited excitedly. We had a total of five litters and twenty-two kittens. As of today, seven remain and there is one that isn't doing well. The others are by no means out of the woods. The most recent death occurred at 4:30 this morning. It's like something in them just shuts down. When we see that one is no longer nursing, we take that kitten and bottle feed it every two hours. We've done this all of these times to no avail.
I see no environmental issues but we have a vet visit scheduled for this week to look everything over. The kitten that died at 4:30 this morning will be sent away for testing if it's not too late (wanted to do this a lot sooner but the kittens that have died have not died at a time that allowed them to arrive in time for the tests.) I believe that Frontline killed them, probably by damaging an organ, perhaps the kidneys or liver. Every one of those babies was reserved for a wonderful home. It makes me sick.

I have usually found that regular baths kept my indoor Ragamuffin/Maine Coon comfortable during flea season, even though he likes to occasionally visit the neighborhood cats from time to time. Recently though, he seemed to be losing his hair and scratching at his ears. I didn't know what it was and was very concerned since most of the treatments for mange, ear mites and fleas have insecticides and he is very sensitive to a lot of foods and treatments. He seemed to be feeling worse and scratching more, so I bought the 5-9 lb Frontline for cats (he is 10 pounds) and separated the hair at the back of his neck and just put a few drops on him (not even 1/3 the dose).
At first I was frightened, his eyes dilated and he ran about the house; but when I checked his skin, there was no reaction and he seemed fine. He was a bit itchy, so I put a bit of Benadryl cream where some of his hair was missing and he quieted down. Within 12 hours, dead fleas were dropping off him or laying in his coat. He has eaten more, his hair is looking better. It has been 6 days now. He had a lot of flea leavings and within the last few days, he did get some fleas crawling on his stomach where his coat is like pale and fuzzy, so I gave him a bath. He seemed comfortable, the fleas are gone. He did vomit once after eating quite a bit; but it seemed to be an isolated incident. I plan to throw out the remainder of the open dose for fear it will strengthen; but I will probably do this every 30 days or so to keep him flea free this season.

I have a 6 kg 4-year old Pomeranian cross. For all her life I've treated her with Frontline Plus, as in Australia, paralysis ticks are a serious problem in summer and mean death for dogs. I had no issues until January 2014 (our summer) when my dog suddenly developed a flea problem. I thought it was just a passing infestation as I've never had it before and still trusted this product to be working - I simply re-administered a new dose (the last dose before that was around 2-3 weeks ago). However even after a week, the fleas were still there. I thought the box I must have used was faulty/dud. So I opened a new pack of Frontline Plus and gave her a dose. A few days after that, I still found fleas on her, and had to conclude Frontline Plus was no longer working.
It was particularly vexing as I bought 2 boxes of 6-packs to prepare for summer, and due to this product failing, had to spend hundreds of dollars more (from the wasted Frontline Plus's, Capstars, Comfortis, flea shampoo, to house treatment, and etc.) in treating my dog for a flea infestation that should never have happened. In comparison, my cat, living in the same household, has never developed a flea problem. She was, and is still treated with Revolution and is perfectly fine. However, my house is still infested with fleas, and the more I discover that many other people have suffered the way my family has, the angrier I become at this company for their negligence and product failure cover-up.

I purchased more of the Frontline, bug bombed the inside of house (we always have kept up on pesticide use on the outside of house as well) and still no luck. After reading other reviews, it seems the fleas have more than likely become immune to the Frontline Plus. Took him back to the Vets. I told them Complete Allergic Response to the Frontline you gave. Vets deny this because they are afraid of a lawsuit, Ran tests and dog was in complete renal failure, and would be dead in a few days. Many local accounts support my stance that fipronil is no longer effective.
I am angry due to the fact that the company will only back up their guarantee if you bought the product from a vet and if you contact them to make a complaint they act as though you don't know how to use their product. I'll have to check with the pet store to see if they will refund. Like I said, Frontline Plus had worked so well for so long for me. I am disgusted at the asking price for something which obviously has not been upgraded to cater for resistance. This was the last time I will ever purchase frontline again! AND if my dog acquires paralysis tick and it kills him I will be after formal enquiry. My pooch is my life. I couldn't have kids, I'm on a pension and fork out $60 AUD for my dogs comfort and safety.
Why have they not researched immunity and resistance better than what they appear to have done. When you pay top $$$$ you expect results and product to upgrade when it starts to fail. Damn shame because Frontline was once the best treatment ever. It appears Comfortis is now the way to go. Makes you wonder if frontline weakened its product, sold the patent, developed a new one and called it Comfortis which they charge $80 AUD - gimme a break. It's disgusting they would charge such prices. By the way the reason I didn't buy Comfortis (because I KNOW IT WORKS) is because it does not kill ticks. I have used Frontline for 6 years and never had a problem, until the last 3/4 months. I noticed my dogs have been scratching all the time. One of mine actually had a flea bite reaction and got a "hot spot" and I took him to the vet. Explaining I applied Frontline after flea baths 2.5 weeks ago. He told me I could use Frontline every 3 weeks. I went ahead and gave baths and reapplied. 1 week later took them in for haircuts and they told me they all had fleas and charged me a extra 10$ each for flea baths. We left town and left dogs with dog sitter and she said they were always scratching. Last Saturday was 3 weeks from last application, gave them baths, reapplied and today after non stop scratching...fleas. What the heck? After reading the complaints I feel like the company is watering down the product. I am so pissed. My dogs have been miserable all summer.

I'm so glad to see all these one-star reviews, because when I called Frontline and told them that their product did not work and I wanted my money back, the woman on the phone acted as if mine was the only complaint they'd received and why on earth would someone call to say their product just doesn't work? Perhaps they should read this website once in a while, because it most certainly does not.
I was using Revolution on my cat for a couple of months (I'm a relatively new pet owner) before switching to Frontline because it was cheaper. One day I notice my cat scratching. Heart sinking, I buy a flea comb and bam, there are multitudes of fleas, flea poop everywhere. "Oh, well, maybe it's just close to the end of the month," said I, so I put another dose on her a few days early. Nothing. No effect at all. The fleas continued to cavort and gambol all over her and I can't emphasize this enough, Frontline Plus did nothing whatsoever to stop them. I bought another brand, applied it and bam, the fleas were gone inside of two days.
Thankfully I kept my receipt and the company has a money-back guarantee if you have your receipt, but I never plan on buying from this company again. Their product doesn't work and they refuse to admit it.

I have been using Frontline for at least 9 yrs on my dog and it always worked great. We did get a cat about 8 months ago but was using on her as well. No problems until Oct 2014. I noticed my dog was scratching and biting at herself A LOT! I was having trouble sleeping since they both sleep with me or in my room every night. It got so bad that I took my dog to the vet because she had bare spots on her hind legs and scabs on the back of her thighs and tummy. The doctor looked for fleas and found none. He prescribed some type of pills that I give her twice a day and he suggested bathing her every week for about a month.
Within the next couple of days I noticed small fleas on my bed. Applied a little more Frontline on both the cat & dog because now they're both scratching and biting like crazy. I put aloe gel on my dogs scabs and got that all cleared up even got one of those Capstar tablets that are supposed to kill any fleas within 24 hours for the dog and an equally aimed tablet for the cat but it is still happening. The vet did mention that fleas are growing resistance to some flea products! I guess I need to try Revolution? Or something that works SOON!

I called Merial company today October 28 2014. I spoke with a lady. She was very nice. I told we had used this product for at least 10 years and liked the product and had put on our cat Callie for the last 10 years. But the last 2 months it wasn't working and now my home is infested with fleas. I explained we had bombed our home but was still having problems with fleas on our cat. For some reason the product is not working. Maybe it is being watered down for more profit. I was told one time and one time only they would reimburse me for Aug, Sept, Oct 2014. I had bought 3 packs of Frontline plus for our cat Callie. Talitha said I would need all three receipts to prove I had bought the product. I ask you, how many people save receipts for this type of protect for 6 to nine months? Not very many. On the box it says satisfaction guaranteed but on the box nowhere does it say you need 6 to nine months of receipts. See this is their way out of paying if their product doesn't work.
We used it for 10 years. It was working fine. Now after being a loyal customer, no help. I did not know I needed receipts for that long ago. The rep said she could not help me without all the receipts. This is just a very bad business practice. People, save all receipts or you get nothing and really no guarantee. This company needs to make a note on the package that says you need the receipts for 6 months or longer or no help. They are making a misrepresentation by not being upfront with the public. Thank you. Not happy.

I have dealt with this company for about four years now. I have had nothing but excellent experiences. They are able to offer name-brand products at much lower prices than you can obtain from your veterinarian. Many people say that they are misleading by selling Frontline Combo (the British version of the product made by the same company) for a price that is about half what my vet would have charged me. You can get the true Frontline Plus product (again, made by the same company) for a higher price, but they are identical prices -- the only difference is that one is made for the US and one for Great Britain. I typically receive my orders within a week or so and I have never had a customer service issue. When I have needed to contact customer service, they were very helpful. I would recommend this company to anyone without reservation.

My beautiful cat Panda is dead. Dead shortly after spraying for fleas. He was healthy until I sprayed him and shortly thereafter he was found dead. And I know it was the spray. I wondered why he didn't answer me (I heard a faint meow) but was doing gardening and then I looked for him because hadn't seen him in a while. My neighbor heard me calling and asked me if I had a cat. She found him dead in the garden - meters from where he usually goes over the fence. He was quieter and a bit listless when I last saw him but I was mowing lawn so when I couldn't find him I thought he was lying in the sun somewhere. But he didn't come when I called (he always did) and then my neighbor called.
He has no puncture marks and I know it is the spray. First time and I killed him. It is unbearable. Now I find on internet that Frontline has been resp for many dog and cat deaths and I want to weep and weep that I didn't know there was a danger - and history of deaths. I want him back and will now never feel that soft body sleeping against me and waiting for me when I come home. He was like my child - he was my child and he died because I wanted him not to have fleas.... cruel, cruel... I am in a hell.

This last dose I applied to both dog and cat did not work... All 3 were scratching just 6 days after dose. I never re-apply, but did... Again, just 5 days later, I saw my poor cats scratching, and the dog too. Closer examination showed live fleas. In the past, if ANY fleas were found, they were slow, sick, and, about to die. Not these.. They were very active, and a google search brought me here.
I am thinking the company has changed the chemicals or weakened the dose, rendering this product useless and perhaps dangerous. Like others in here, I noticed my 1 cat was drinking MUCH more water (he like it fresh from my running sink), than usual... I just feel lucky no trip to the ER was needed.... I've wasted my money and now have to have TWO dogs treated for fleas. Anyone with a pet knows, one dog can cost a fortune and TWO can cost you damn near your first born. This is ridiculous.

We have been using Frontline for at least 6-7 years on our 2 cats and around October 2013, it completely stopped working! Both cats became infested with fleas, we continued the monthly dosage with the remaining packs but I am so frustrated with the amount of work this has caused trying to get rid of these fleas. This medication was purchased directly from SAM'S Club; therefore I would assume it was bought directly from the company and is not a counterfeit. I plan on switching brands and will never use this product again.

The only change in routine was that we used Frontline for the first time last night. We applied it as directed at approximately 9 PM. He ate and sat on my lap. This morning, he was laying on the dining room floor, dead. So far, the other cat appears fine, but I will never use this product again.

I became infested with fleas in July 13 and bought enough packs of Frontline to do 4 cats for and a dog for 3 months. Plus, flea collars, bedding spray, carpet treatment and spot treatment. After following all instructions for the products, and waiting a week, nothing changed. My animals all had fleas and were scratching. I called Frontline and was given the runaround. At one point, the woman I spoke with became so irritated, she said, that's what you get when you don't inquire about a product BEFORE I buy it. I was told I should wait the full 30 days.
When I reminded her the package said WITHIN 24 hours, she said it was residual scratching from being bitten days ago. Anyway, next month, I treated again, with the same results. I call back again to try to get a refund and was told I could not get one. I spent in excess of $120 on a product that is useless and everyone at the company knows it. I will tell everyone I know with pets to never buy this product again. How can ANY animal hospital recommend this product in good conscience????

I have been a Frontline Plus customer for many years. However, in the last three years, this product has (I feel) been a waste of my money. Every year it seems to be less and less successful in ridding my beloved dogs of any fleas. It seems to me that ever since they changed this product to be used every 30 days instead of (if I remember correctly when Frontline first became available to the veterinary offices) every 90 days, now you have to purchase and apply this product more often with almost no result at all. I will no longer be purchasing this product until this company can open their eyes to something besides dollar $igns and ears to start listening to their customers who are complaining again this year. If I have to keep the fleas, I will also be keeping my money!

I have been doing Frontline Plus on both dogs every month, using as directed. I am having to carefully pick the fleas off with tweezers, then dip them in a vial filled with alcohol. I managed to keep it under control and basically it wasn't an issue. That was 2012. THIS year, 2013, I have infested with so many fleas that both my dogs have bare spots from where they've been itching and chewing so bad.
My Mini Schnauzer has scabs on his head and chest from fleas. I can see eggs upon eggs on my Retriever. The Frontline is NOT working! I spray my house, spray their bedding, my couches, my rugs, beds and everything I can think of and vacuum and spray daily!! Still fleas!! It's so bad this year I'm thorough disgusted! I purchased Frontline Plus for dogs for my Jack Russell Terrier about two weeks ago. It states it kills fleas, flea eggs, larvae, ticks, and chewing lice. It also states to use it once per month, and that it is guaranteed or they will refund your money or replace the defective product. I have used this product during the spring and summer for my dog for several years; off and on I have had problems with this product.
On 05/07/2013, I bathed my dog and applied the treatment to her after she was dry. On 05/17/2013, I began seeing flea dust again on my dog. On 05/19/2013, larvae were moving and she had another flea infestation; therefore, I bathed her again and applied another flea treatment. But this time, I decided to contact Merial Limited to complain about the product. I spoke to Ebony on 05/20/2013. Despite what the product advertises on the box, she stated that if you take your dog outside, it will get fleas again and the product will not kill them. She stated it only kills the larvae and the eggs. I asked to speak to a supervisor, Jeremy, and he essentially advised me the same thing.
In addition, despite the box stating they will replace the item or refund your money if you are not satisfied, they expect you to provide receipts of flea treatment on all dogs in the household. This is not mentioned on the satisfaction guaranteed section of the box. Since my mother lives with us and has a dog, we have to provide a receipt on her. But we cannot provide it because it was purchased well over a year ago; we simply do not keep receipts that long. Merial Limited fails to list this disclaimer on their merchandise. Therefore, this should be considered false advertising in addition to stating that it lasts 30 days (it does not), it kills fleas, eggs, and larvae (it does not), and it is waterproof (my vet told me it is not and to reapply if I bathe my dog).
So I have filed a complaint with the BBB of Duluth, the Attorney General's Office for false advertising, the FTC, and the FDA. Apparently, I might also need to file a report with the EPA; they oversee pesticides. Considering I paid $80 for eight treatments (buy six, get two free), I think this product is a complete rip off. In addition, their customer service is extremely poor. They do not back their product despite their label implying they do. What a joke.

A week later, he was not improving; he was walking crooked and whimpering. I returned to the vet where they did blood work. She insisted it was still his neck. This was on a Friday.
By Sunday, he seemed so bad so I took him to the emergency vet where they proceeded to put a neck brace on him after a shot of morphine still insisting that it was not the Frontline. By this time, I had researched this on the Internet and could not believe all the complaints about Frontline - many deaths and illnesses all with exactly the same symptoms! It also states that it prevents development of all flea stages for up to 6 weeks. Noticed lots of flea eggs and feces on a glass top table they like to lay on soon after the first application of Frontline Plus. One of my cats was spending an inordinate amount of time in the basement during this first treatment period. On 7/11 I swept some flea eggs and flea dirt from the table into a petri dish to see if the eggs hatched. Like a fool, I administered a second topical dose at the recommended four week period on 7/12/10.
I called the company (Merial) on 7/26 to ask if they had a problem with one of their lots because it didn't seem to be working. They (Trisha) said there was no problem. I also told her that the egg sample hatched into larvae and the label said it kills flea eggs. I got some lame just give it time excuse. I also asked about side effects and was told there were no behavioral effects (which i have since learned is not true, there are behavioral side effects). All in all I have collected and hatched 4 broods of eggs. Called about getting my money back 8/24 (Satisfaction Guaranteed also on the label) and all they were interested in was the adverse effects (needs to be reported to EPA). She said they weren't medically trained and someone would call back within 24 hours to get more details on the adverse effects and to discuss getting my money back. I never received a call. I switched to another product and within 12 hours I found 27 dead fleas (that's only what I found) and there are no longer flea eggs and dirt on their favorite table. My name is Margareta **. I was the proud owner of a beautiful Golden Retriever named Kirstein and a beautiful Doberman Pincher named Naya. Kirstein was a therapy dog. (I feel was killed by chemical reaction.) I applied Frontline Flea and Tick product after giving baths.
Let me share a little about Kirstein, the miraculous dog. We went to the child crisis center regularly, and one day our normal bi-monthly visit. When we enter we usually came into a room with children sitting in a circle, and the dog or dogs, I had two now, one usually makes a circle around the sitting children and anyone (child) that wants one-on-one time with the dog lets us know and we accommodate by a line and personal time with the dog amounting to as much time as needed. My having two therapy dogs, it was a very successful program for letting the children know unconditional love that these dogs share.
This particular time when we visited the center, our Kirstein entered the room and went immediately to the corner where there was a private area set up. (It consisted of a small colorful tent that a child could go to when they wanted to be alone.) This girl had such a horrible time she had been there for three days crying all the time. Kirstein went right to the corner, laid down and inched her way into the tent very slowly; just her head was in the tent. I called to her to come back. However, the counselors pleaded with me to let her go. They explained the story to me and asked to let her stay there while we have her sister Brianna to work with the other children.
We finished our work with the other children and sat down as the children went on with their other programs leaving the room silent. All you could hear was this poor little girl just sobbing holding onto Kirstein. It was her first break through back to reality. She had such a tough time she held on Kirstein’s neck. I wondered how Kirstein was able to keep wagging her tail and breathe. This talent is what we lost to chemicals. Of course, we never know what happened to these children, or are able to continue contact with them, except for this situation. Kirstein was the only one to make a breakthrough with this girl and we went back every day (about 6 days) until they said we could go back to our regular schedule. When I refer to we, I mean Kirstein, Brianna and myself. Working with the staff of the children crisis center is a great thing. We have suffered a great loss with both of our girls. Now to have only one (Brianna) is bitter sweet and wonderful all at once. It had been 6 months and I will tell you this is the first time I have been able to tell this story.
They had a long painful death, I feel. Both the Doberman and the Golden developed sores all over their body that looked like ulcerated blistering. Now these are both long hair and short hair dogs. Their kidneys were starting to fail. My vet sells Frontline and doesn’t know what caused this. However, she was so much a part of these dogs all their lives. She cannot for sure confirm that this is what killed them, only states that it looks like the result of a chemical reaction. I have not been back since as I strongly feel it was the cause of their demise. Kirstein lost 45 pounds before her death in approximately 14 to 17 days, and I could not stand to see her suffer any longer and requested her to be put to sleep.
The Doberman lasted 17-19 days with the same suffering. I could not let her go any longer and requested euthanasia. When I brought up the facts to my vet, she stated that there’s no expiration date on these products. I will never know. I only know they were as healthy as could be three weeks before their death and that is when I gave baths and used this product. The saddest thing is that they don’t and never had fleas or ticks. So why did I use this medication? I thought I was doing the right thing for them. I don’t know if this will help you, however, this is what happened to us here in Mesa, Arizona.
