    I ordered my magpul ms4 sling on a Monday and received it the following Saturday. They sent order confirmation within an hour or so and a tracking number the next day. The package was boxed professionally with bubble wrap and a coupon for future order. Product was as expected and in perfect condition. I have read a lot of bad reviews about this company after I made the order and was worried, but as far as my experience goes I have no problem using them again if needed.

    I placed an order for a Team Wendy Helmet and Wilcox G24 mount and J Arm for my Pvs-14 night vision on September 16th 2020. All items showed in stock with large quantities. Optics Planet charged my credit card immediately. It took until September 21st to show “Order being fulfilled”. I called and checked on the order status on September 23rd.

    Optics Planet is no longer answering phone calls due to the large amount of orders they are receiving. I couldn’t speak to a human so the automatic voice recording stated that my order was sent to the warehouse and was being packaged for shipment. Well that is absolutely ridiculous if the item was in stock to begin with it should have shipped out by now. It has been 7 days and still no tracking number. Where are my items!! I emailed customer service with no response except an automated response from their email server that states all in stock orders will be shipped within 1-3 business days. I will never spend my hard earned money with this company again if they cannot provide quality service. My orders was over $2000. This is absurd.

    I'm reviewing because of the work I've put in to receive a full refund from Optics Planet. I ordered the product 2nd day delivery from OP on Aug. 28 ($64.02) and I received it Sept. 3 late afternoon (6 days later/4 working days later). I could have it shipped to me FREE SHIPPING but I had a schedule to meet. I had lined up installation on my boat 100-150 miles from home and lined up getting my boat there (Sept. 1 or 2) for installation and it could not happen. Optics Planet refunded me $1066.41 on Sept. 22; I returned Sept. 3, sent 3 email/messages and called 4 times.... I paid out $1134.75. OP kept $64.02. I paid to ship the product in 2 days and they kept $4.32 sales tax. I want my money back for a product that did not get here in time! OP can work the shipping out with UPS... OP took my money. That taxes... They refunded most of that too but not all. Unless Optics Planet refunds me soon...I'll give them poor reviews I find everywhere.

    During the middle of a pandemic or shortage, you would think businesses would find it in their heart to try and help their customers as much as possible. Unfortunately OpticsPlanet is not one of those companies. On multiple occasions they have listed items as in stock or estimated to ship within a week, only to change the time of their shipping to months on end right before the item is scheduled to ship. This is not even specific only to the current 2020 pandemic, this has been their practice for years on end. I have personally been on the phone with one of their employees discussing a product delivery time and the item shows in stock but the person on the other end of the line says they have no idea when the product will be available.

    Dont be fooled by their false advertising and criminal behavior or the fake 5 star reviews on here by I'm assuming is either employees themselves or family members of employees. Optics planet does not care about your needs, they care about their bottom line and will do whatever that can to make a buck. That unfortunately means lie.

    I ordered a $600 optic on September 6th. The website says will ship 2-3 days. The UPS tracking numbers I was given both show no movement through today 9/21/20. You cannot get a human to answer the phone. Email is a waste of time and you cannot cancel the order once you get a tracking number. The website says 2-3 weeks processing any return. I suggest you avoid this company. They are not honest and you cannot depend on anything they say. I regret not reading the reviews before buying from them. It will not happen again.

    We ordered this product and were excited to see it quickly arrive. That excitement quickly faded however, once we opened the package. It had obviously been previously used and came with neither the instructions nor the tools for installment. We now have to go out and purchase separate specialty tools to ever get a chance to use the product ourselves.

    I am not one that complains a lot especially during this time of a national pandemic. However, I do not want others to experience what I’ve experienced. I have been waiting for two orders to ship for over 10 days now. For one order, all the items are in stock (supposedly) but they still have not shipped. I have tried repeatedly to get an update through email and phone and have received no response. After you wait on hold for about 5 minutes, an automated message comes up and you are disconnected. I finally just cancelled the second order because I was not going to receive it by my hunting trip this weekend.

    If you are planning a trip soon or you need an order shipped promptly, DO NOT order from OpticsPlanet. It appears that a lot of the items they are selling are not in stock and they maintain a very limited inventory. I was told through a canned email to all customers a few days ago that orders should be shipped within 10 days of receiving it but so far, that has not happened. Just beware before you order.

    I ordered a Franklin Armory binary trigger from them a month before release. First they never said pre-order but I knew the company hadn't released it yet. So through the process of submitting the order, I see it says it's expected to ship about. A month out which is about a week after the manufacturer released their product on their site. Sounds right. The $300 item was $30 cheaper on OP and I got to use a 7% off code.

    Well they kept pushing back the ship date. After 2 months the ship date got pushed back another meeting month. I tried leaving a review about 6 times and they blocked it every time. Apparently you can only review the item not their crap service. So I contacted them via email and basically asked "Will you ever ship the item I purchased?" No response but 2 days later my items being processed to ship. About 2.5 months after the original ship date but 1 month before their latest estimated ship date. I have a feeling they estimate everyone the time of the next shipment. If their order list is 1,000 people long and their next shipment is 100 parts I'm pretty sure they tell number 1,000 his expected ship date is the next shipment. I got a feeling that my complaining bumped someone quietly waiting down to the next shipment.

    Aslo my coworker (I sit next to and he showed me his screen and the messages on his account) bought a threaded barrel for his sig handgun from OP and sold his factory barrel to someone else. The sat with an inoperable gun for 3 months bc even though listed in stock OP was waiting for the part. He canceled his order and bought it somewhere else and had it a week after ordering from the other guys. I felt really bad because at the time I had ordered things from Optics Planet about 4 times with no issues and told him they were great, however they screwed him over and then me. Don't be fooled by optics planet's cheaper price. It doesn't help if 4 in 10 orders actually get delivered.

    It's really very simple. The website shows items as in stock, so you purchase them, they charge your card, and then they email you 30 minutes to an hour later showing the item(s) you just purchased are not in stock, and that you'll have to wait weeks for processing. Right below this, they give you a link to cancel your order. This allows them to hold your money for days on end while you wait for a refund on items they never had in the first place. Meanwhile, they're doing this to thousands of people all over the country, making a killing on the interest alone. Scam artists.

    Sent me the wrong product so I returned it. Then they received it. I started asking about my refund and they just stopped responding. When you call him it says they’re not responding to voicemails and they let you stay on hold for about 15 minutes then it just says, "Sorry we don’t have time to take your call. Just leave a message."

    I placed 2 separate orders on the same day. I got an automated response after my first order saying it was being prepared for shipping and they would send tracking info soon. Second order the automated response said “sorry this item is not currently in stock and won’t be available until the end of the month”. They took the money for the first order out of my account immediately and left the money for the second in a processing state because the item wasn’t in stock. I canceled the one that they didn’t have available and never got charged. But the one I was supposed to get tracking info for is in limbo. No response by email except for automated responses that say they can’t respond to emails or calls and won’t call anyone back. It won’t let me cancel my order.

    I sent this company 500$ and cannot get anybody to give me any information on the status of my order. They certainly are selling things they don’t have and have terrible business practices. I wasn’t that worried about it until I read some of the reviews now I think I’m going to try to get my bank involved. If you haven’t already ordered from them DONT. I’m sure they were fine before this crazy year with the pandemic, and all the fear buying. They obviously couldn’t handle it.

    I was taken to Optics Planet by watching a few YouTube videos. I guess I should have read the reviews first. Went online and found what I wanted, everything was in stock. Added to my basket, checked out and paid. Money was taken from my bank the following day. Order was placed on a Thursday afternoon AND I payed for expedited shipping. Waited 24 hours with no update, figured they wouldn’t process or ship anything on a Saturday or Sunday so waited Monday and still nothing. Tuesday afternoon I finally got online to find a customer service number to call only to be waiting on hold for a little over 30 mins and then the automated person basically said due to high call volumes we cannot take your call and to leave a message. Left a message and waited for a return phone call, Wed nothing and no update, Thursday nothing and no update....

    FINALLY Friday, an entire week later, I got an email saying my item is being prepped for shipping!! Wow!! Just prepped!? Ok figured I’d get another email later Friday saying item has been shipped. Waited and nothing, Saturday and Sunday...nothing. Monday, finally received an email stating item has been shipped. Are you kidding me?!? I understand y’all might be busy but that’s business....If you are busy you need to ramp up your employee count!!!

    This is TERRIBLE customer service and very bad business. Needless to say I paid for expedited shipping so that I could have it in time before a trip on the coming Wednesday. I figured placing an order a week and half earlier and paying for 2 day shipping would be MORE than enough time. I placed an order at the exact same time with Brownells and received my order literally 4 days later including the weekend!!! Just save yourself the headache and shop at Brownells or another reputable company. Go local if you can. This is absolutely insane and I will never be buying anything from Optics Planet again. Buyer beware.

    Wish I could give zero stars. I placed an order recently. Showed in stock and was allowed to put in cart and place order with no sign of being on backorder. After taking my money I got an email my order will be 2 months before they get the item. I cancelled the order and I paid unfortunately with a gift card and they are refusing to give me a refund. They will not respond to my emails and one of the emails they sent when they told me the item was on backorder said they do not take phone calls or messages. I am so mad they apparently intend to keep my money since it was paid with a gift card. Apparently I will have to get an attorney involved to try and get my money back since they refuse to respond. It's ridiculous. This company is a complete fraud, deceptive and dishonest in my opinion.

    I’ve ordered several items from Optics Planet in the past 4 months and again on 7/29/20 and it’s already shipped out on 7/31/20. I’ve read a lot of bad review about them not shipping timely but they had 9 left in stock when I ordered and everything went smooth. Granted I pay for the step above free shipping which every website I’ve used and tried shipping the value way takes forever these days so don’t mind spending extra for the peace of mind. Unless something changes Seems as good experience as any. Not sure if all the bad reviews is from non online shopping people or just grumpy people in general.

    OpticsPlanet sells items they do not have in stock. Two orders in a row of a few items each, 1 item is not in stock and I'll get it weeks/months later but we're still shipping the rest of the stuff you want. This forces me to have to write customer service to cancel the item on back order (good luck, one item required 3 emails and a week before finally getting it canceled) and then go find it somewhere else. This company has been doing this for years and they defend it by saying, "Oh there's a check availability link you can click to make sure we have it." Look, if you don't have it, don't let me put it in my cart and buy it - like practically every other site on the internet. It's not a defensible practice.

    I ordered the Lee Progressive Press. Apparently, some things are necessary to know when setting up the press. I recently went to Youtube to learn more about what I need to do to have this equipment run smoothly. With that said: it's important to look over the press to make certain there are no manufacturer's defects. The press that I ordered came with a minor flaw in the casting that actually damaged the flipper. The flipper times the slide which pushes and retracts, rotating the shell indexer. At the top of the stroke there is a sizable amount flashing (or sharp burr) on a bumper. The bumper nudges the flipper forward for the opposite side of the flipper to ride the track on the way down. The damaging effect of the flashing scored the flipper, which positioned it too far into the track. As the ram came down the flipper scored up the track. The scoring damaged the flipper and track.

    The flipper stops dead in the track where all the scoring occurred on the frame. Now the action which is supposed to be delivered to the rotating shell indexer doesn't work. Optics Planet was very helpful with my request to replace this press. After waiting weeks for another press, they repackaged and sent the same damaged press back to me without a reason. I sent two e-mails waiting for a response and haven't heard anything. I guess I'll wait a few more days before giving up.

    UPDATED 08/15/2020: Optics planet held up to their word and commitment even through delays.. wrote a previous review where I was worried but no more! Awesome OpticsPlanet.com. My unit came earlier than stated so place another order!

    ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wish I would have researched this site before I purchased @ OpticsPlanet. I just ordered a sight with shipping 5-10 business days however I have noticed that within the last 24hrs of order they have not shipped. This item should be stocked so I am worried. I see that they are not taking phone calls and not responding to emails.. Worried since a couple hundreds $ for equipment in these days is hard to part.. I hope Optics Planet is watching these reviews since on Youtube I have not heard any bad things about optics planet but have a feeling this will changed based on these responses.. I am giving them a 5 start still but if they do not hold up to their commitment I will be back with another review and change of stars...

    This review is strictly for their online customer service, I place a order that was canceled by Optics Planet a day later, and I have spent the last week trying to find out why the order was cancelled, all responses from them are generic and when I get a personal response they totally ignore the fact that they cancelled my order and my question of why, then I am told to email other departments to find out why my order was cancelled, I understand that things are crazy right now but that does not justify poor customer service and giving customers a runaround.

    I ordered boots from Optics Planet and it auto populated the WRONG size of boots, something that I did not realize until the final invoice printed. Within moments of the transaction processing, I requested a cancellation of the order. I didn't get a response for an extended period of time, and by the time I did, they claimed it was too late because the product had already shipped. Thereafter, I requested an RMA number no less than 7 times, and never was provided it, nor does their website nor app allow it. Now, I am stuck with the wrong size boots. I buy thousands of dollars of outdoor products every single year from dozens of websites, and this is the single WORST service, WORST interface of any that I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't accept free gear from them, it is such garbage service and interface.

    I placed an order back in early July for a red dot sight. I got it, it was damaged it looked like it was a return and that they reshipped out to Me. I called them to get it exchanged everything went through no problem. I got an email verification that the return was received and processed no problem. I received the new item and thats where the quality stopped.

    Now it's the first week of August and the keep trying to double charge me for the return that they got back and they are holding another purchase I made on July 22 Ransom which they also have already been paid for, until they get the money for the return that was received. On top of all that I've already reached out to them roughly 8 or 9 times regarding these issues to no avail other then my orders are on hold till we clear the other order issues. Once this whole thing gets figured out I will never do business with them again and I urge everyone to stay away they will take your money and not ship items and still try to charge you after they already got paid.

    I've been lucky in my past orders with OpticsPlanet.com until today..... box arrives and there is a partial order. The most expensive item is not in the box and we've all read on how hard it is to get in contact with this company. While we wade through this mess, I'm stuck unable to complete a project on-time as I don't want to order from another company while this one is pending. I'll give them 24 hours as this is how long they said it will take to respond then I will file a dispute with my bank which will be happy to back charge and refund my money. How do you stay in business always chasing your tail? If by some chance they resolve this issue, I will repost and give credit where credit is due.

    This was my first order with Optics Planet. I was confused after ordering when I was asked to verify my payment by confirming an additional charge with my bank. But, I went with it, whatever, right? Well I waited on them for a few days to charge this small amount to my card so I could verify it for them. After days of waiting, and multiple attempts of trying to email/chat, I couldn’t get anyone to respond. I then decided to figure out Optics Planet email format, which is “firstname.lastname@opticsplanet.com”.

    Once I figured that out, I went on LinkedIn to figure out who their President, CEO, and Head of Customer Service were. After finding those folks, I simply input their names into the email format and sent them all emails asking for help. Within 2 hours I received multiple responses, got the help I needed, and my order has now shipped. Just wanted to let everyone know my story just In case you're having a panic attack about getting scammed after reading some of these reviews. Hope this helps someone!

    I purchased this kit (new, not used) from OPTICS PLANET. Upon arrival and inspection, I found multiple parts missing. I contacted OPTICS PLANET to let them know parts were missing. At first they said, "Sure no problem. We'll get those out to you..." A few days later I got an email from them telling me how sorry they were but I would have to sort this out myself with Lee who makes the kit..? OPTICS PLANET SUCKS. Do not shop there. Total hassle.

    I was online searching for a pistol magazine for a Beretta 85 Cheetah. Everyone was sold out, including Beretta. Optics Planet is the only place advertising “In Stock”. I assumed it was because their price was higher than every other price I saw. Supply vs. Demand, right? I was willing to pay extra because I wanted it. I placed the order. Then, I received confirmation stating my order was being processed. Later I received another email with an update letting me know I would receive my purchase in 6-10 months because they were waiting to receive the item. I understand many companies are simply retailers selling items they never touch. They shouldn’t list anything as “In Stock” that’s not available. I placed this order over a month ago and they still have the item listed as “In Stock”.

    Last July 3th I purchased a pair of binoculars at OpticsPlanet.com. I chose this retailer because years ago I (uneventfully) bought another pair there, and the price was average. Today, july 28, the parcel is somewhere “in transit” in the USPS network. That’s the only information you get from OP or USPS. No news about parcel location or estimated date of arrival. The last “in transit” update was on july 20, and according to OP policy, I’ll have to wait 20 more business days from that date, for them to start looking at the issue. That will be around mid August.

    Customer Service answer your email requests after several days. They say on their site that they are so busy that cannot answer phone calls or chat. Perhaps they should hire more personnel instead of mistreat their customers, with rather rude and copy-paste style responses. Once the parcel is dispatched, contacting them is totally useless anyway. Additionally, you can fill a USPS inquiry that will take even longer to be solved, if it eventually does.

    To summarize: you buy an item that might or might not arrive after many weeks waiting. It’s not wise to buy again this item somewhere else, or you might end up with two units, if the first one eventually arrives. You can’t cancel the order and get your money back because it is in transit. They retain the money, and if you were planning to use this product, say on a trip, forget about it.

    So when I brought up full refund they declined. Only exchange. The fine people of optics planets told me to pound sand when asking for my money back but they helped by giving me the number. Do not give this company money. Go direct to the source. You won’t be left in the dark. When going back and forth with the customer service rep just got a bunch of sighs on the phone from both ends mostly because I bought from optics planet.

    I ordered an Aero Precision Complete Upper, a bolt carrier group, and a charging handle. The items showed in stock at time of order. Complete upper was on sale at the time. This order was placed in March 2020. The complete upper has been on backorder ever since. I inquired about order several times and was offered partial shipment on bolt carrier and charging handle. I asked them to wait and send complete order. Another month went by and I received the charging handle and bolt carrier group as a partial order and no complete Aero Precision Upper. I ordered the same barrel and received it on another build. I think they are dragging their feet and don't want to honor the original sale price. This may have been a bait and switch tactic to get me to buy the charging handle and bolt carrier group. I keep getting projected shipping dates but it never ships. I am inquiring with the Illinois Consumer Complaint Division about these sales tactics.

    I ordered a few products from them that were labeled At least 3 in stock. I could have opted for free shipping but I paid for 3 day shipping. I receive an email On the third business day stating that one of my products that they had 3 of isn't coming and that’s all. I tried to call, left emails, as well as check my email all week. I have received several emails/day but none that have to do with my orders progress. Here we are 7 days later I receive 75 percent of my order and do not see why I didn’t spend my money elsewhere.

    When I order something online, I only order what is in stock, ever. OpticsPlanet didn’t divulge that one of the 4 items I ordered was out of stock, but they charged my checking account for the order. Then after 3 weeks I don’t see my items. I check with the site, don’t see my order. I have to “import” my order, thank goodness I had the order number. OP finally lets me see my order status and I find that in those 3 weeks, all the other items also sold out. So now I’m looking at a possible shipping date toward the end of August when I ordered 2nd week of June. I received no word from OP regarding the order/back order and no reply from them when I sent word to clarify.

    I sent word today to cancel my order and don’t expect to hear back from them. I’m just hoping to retrieve my funds and hopefully cut ties with them at this point. Don’t tie up my money and maintain your silence about what you’re doing. Don’t mislead buyers when it comes to your stock. Come clean with your customers and give them the option to wait or not instead of controlling their funds. Inform your customers of these things like so many other retailers do! Optics planet has fallen into the file of retailers to stay away from.

    This review is based on my current experience, order was placed on July 2, 2020. I ordered a pair of "IN STOCK" Chaco sandals. On July 7, 2020 I received an email that said "Sorry, We're a Little Behind." I haven’t had any shipping issues with Amazon, eBay, Mercari or other online stores due to the Virus so WHY is OpticsPlanet having problems?

    My order arrived a couple weeks later and I received two right foot Chaco sandals, both different styles. I completed the online contact form, waited on hold until my cordless phone was dead. Called their customer service a day later, this time pretended like I was placing an order and got through right away... I was told they are no longer in stock of what I previously ordered. Now what?.. I have received NO RESPONSE.

    I am now over 40 days out of my money trying to receive the red dot sight I ordered. It has been shipping for over 15 days all over the place with the cheapest form known to man they used to ship the product. Do not even try to call them. They do not care.     I have purchased several high value items from Optics Planet in the past and whilst not the fastest shopper it has been “acceptable”. This appears to have changed. I purchased a cellular trail camera and they just went dark. More disturbing is they play the game of issuing a shipping number but nothing is ever Given to the shipper so nothing can be tracked. Contacting customer support has been equally disappointing. I no longer recommend this company. It’s not a good deal if you can save a few dollars but don’t get your product. There are now other companies out there that are offering just as good (and is some cases better) pricing and much better customer service and shipping. OpticsPlanet is failing fast right now. Not Good enough.

    I have purchase a optic great brand but defective, I request a RMA, but I notice the long delay in receive the replacement, so I request a cancellation and a refund. Is being over a month and no money back. They only send electronic answers with telling me will take up to 3 weeks to refund my money, it is over 6 weeks... I have no confidence in this business, I am going to small claim court, I have no other avenue to get my money back.

    I’m writing this review based on my current experience, I’ve looked at others and it seems they are exactly similar to my experience. I ordered a few items and the 1-3 weeks just turned into 1-3 months to get a Red Dot Optic and my other item hasn’t shipped and I haven’t been refunded for the 1-3 months item I canceled. I haven’t received ANY SHIPPING ISSUES with Amazon or eBay and Mercari or even Midway and Classic Firearms due to the Virus so WHY is Optics Planet having problems??

    I’ve passed on my current issues and the other reviews to a whole lot of Brothers and Friends and it’s not going to be good for Optics Planet if many more of these get out. I just want my Daniel Defense item and my MONEY credited back and maybe I’ll squash this review because this is insane and I know 100% my new US Optic I’ve saved for Will NOT be ordered from Optics Planet.     I purchased a "new" Mossberg gun barrel from OpticsPlanet on 12/1/2019 to give my son for Christmas. Delivery kept getting pushed back and 5 months later it now passed my son's birthday. Finally, over 6 months later in June 2020 they notified me that it was in-stock. The payment process was rather sketchy and it took a few emails back and forth until we were able to get it squared away. I put that bad experience behind me, but came upon another yesterday when I took it out of the box and noticed there were areas where it looked like the gun had been repainted and other spots where it was down to bare metal. After further review it also appeared that a few rounds were fired through the barrel which was never cleaned.

    I tried reaching out to customer service via phone and email to see if, or why they sold me a "new" gun barrel and sent me a used one, but haven't received a response back yet. I would like them to send me the "new" barrel I paid for instead of waiting to get my money back, but can't afford to wait another 6 months and miss out on taking my son out hunting for the first time. Also, if you are looking to get your money back for a return, according to their phone message it's going to be a while. Highly Disappointed.

    After emailing three times, they stated the back ordered item was going to be delivered in a month, then after a week of wasting my time, they tell me it's going to take 6 to 10 months to ship.     My order was immediately put on hold with a message that they will contact me possibly to verify financial information. I paid a lot of money to have the order expedited so when nothing came three days later I contacted customer service chat. He quickly said the order was being held to confirm that there are no legal considerations shipping to my location (Indiana? OK!).

    I told him I did not appreciate not being told what was going on with my expedited order. He apologized and said the backordered item held everything up. I think I triggered an automatic lie in the script when I said expedited order so he spit out that lie. There was no mention of a backordered item to this point. Then I told him I did not appreciate being lied to about the financial hold, and lied to about the shipping logistic legal panel you had to assemble for this order, or the lie about this backordered item because at least two of these things was a lie, if not, all three.

    OK, they have a terrible ordering system, let's get through this. I ordered and paid for "in stock" items and paid a lot of money for an expedited order which I have received none of. Any real company would have already asked if I wanted to release the items they have and communicate with me on the expected backorder time. Especially since it want a lot of money for expedited orders.... But we are getting through this, OK... When I asked him which items were on backorder, he sent me my full itemized, 12 item $700 order!!!

    At this point I am done with this company. I asked him to cancel everything and return my money. I did get an email confirming the cancelation but they have not said one true thing this whole time so I have no faith I will get my money back without filing. Luckily my order was over $500. I believe that changes the nature of the filing.

    I feel sorry for the small orders. Some companies take money for things then route you to a third party answering service that is scripted with lies and on hold circles. They know we do not want to endure the stress and emotion to sue a company. It is usually takes too much time and money to be worth it so, they win again. It is a business model for a lot of companies these days. I suspect OpticsPlanet.com is another company we can add to that list. Thank You ConsumerAffairs.com

    My biggest issue with this website is how misleading it can be in terms of shipping and product availability. Rather than just stating that an item is on backorder and the ship date is unknown, the site rather opts to provide dates with lots of grey area that wind up getting changed every week or so. My first specific example comes from my first order, when I put in an order for an Aero Precision mid length upper. Initially, the wait time was going to be at least a month to get it shipped. However, within the next week that date was changed 3 times all the way out to three months away from the original order date. I of course cancelled, and then put in an order for an Aero carbine upper (with supposedly better wait time) and the same thing happened. I then cancelled that too after finding the same thing on Primary Arms, where it was both in stock and was shipped within the next two days of my order being placed.

    My next complaint involves the way shipping an order with an out of stock product is done. One of my most recent orders had 3 items in it, with one not being in stock. Instead of shipping the in-stock items that they had received my money for, they held them until the 3rd item arrived (that item never did arrive to their warehouse, the date kept flip-flopping as mentioned before). I also had to cancel this order as the wait was getting absolutely absurd and I found what I was looking for elsewhere.

    To top it all off, the customer service was nothing more than copy and pasted generic answers that didn't really answer my questions. I understand that at the time of this review, the current pandemic and rioting has produced unprecedented demand, but that is no excuse to have a site that is misleading and with such unclear shipping (which was apparently a problem many years before the most recent events according to others). If Optics Planet doesn't know when my product will be in stock, fine. But don't keep feeding me false information in order to keep my money with them. I will not be ordering anything from this place again.

    My opinion is strictly not to purchase from this website. I placed a 400$ order for a build over a month ago, it has been in processing status since. I have called countless times and emailed to try to get any update on the status of my order. All I have received are two completely automated emails that give literally no information. I understand we are all busy and we are all dealing with this pandemic- but in-stock items don't take over a month to put in a box and ship. The worst part is- I can get no information on my order and also- can find absolutely no way to cancel my order now that it's placed. I have to file a claim with my bank to get this money back.     On Feb 25, 2020 I placed an order through Optics Planet (OP) (# **). On Feb 26, I received an e-mail telling me that my order was "on hold" pending payment verification. The e-mail described a ridiculous process to verify my payment which consisted of having my credit card charged with a small amount, calling my bank to confirm the charge amount, then verifying that amount through the OP customer service. On Feb 26, I called OP customer support to clarify the issue. I was on hold for 22 minutes before I was helped by customer service. She said that since I was a new customer, I had to go through the verification process. I explained that I had been a customer since 2002. When I placed this order I could not remember what my account password was so I created a new account for this order.

    I further explained that my last purchase was around April or May of 2019 for a Kowa spotting scope with accessories, shipped to my same address, using the same credit card with the same billing address, but I did not have to deal with the ridiculous payment verification process. She put me on hold for 17 minutes and then returned telling me that I would have to go through the payment verification process. I asked if I could cancel my order, then place a phone order for the same items (My nearest internet was 12 miles from my home). I had my credit card in hand, with the same billing address as the shipping address. She said I would still have to go through the verification process. I explained that I did not have internet access. She said I would have to hang up, call my bank etc. then call back.

    I asked to speak with a supervisor to see if what she was telling me was true, since she did not sound knowledgeable of the policy or process. She put me on hold for the next 40 minutes with no answer. I hung up and called back. I was put in queue for 22 minutes with no answer. I hung up and called Optics Planet again. I pressed zero until I got a real person. He was knowledgeable and explained the payment verification process. He forwarded me to the OP QC department. On Feb 26, I received an e-mail from OP QC Team Leader Susan **. She cleared the hold on the order and cleared it to be processed and shipped. She included a $25 gift card for the inconvenience. OP QC did not address the core of the problem so I responded in an e-mail to cancel my order.

    Even though I canceled my order, on Feb. 27 my order was shipped. I ordered the same items from another vendor that didn’t have a ridiculous payment verification process. On April 16 I placed another order with Optics Planet. On April 30 I received an e-mail that my order was “on hold” with instructions to contact OP by phone or e-mail. I made three attempts to contact OP by phone. I left a message each time for them to call me. On the fourth and fifth attempts there was no option to leave a message and the voicemail system disconnected my call. I sent an e-mail requesting OP contact me by phone so I could get the order going.

    On May 15th I ordered the items from yet another vendor. On May 28th, 42 days after placing my order, I received a phone call from Optics Planet Customer Service. I cancelled my order. It took OP 42 days to respond to me personally, with apologies for the back log blamed on the coronavirus. However, in that 42 days I received 72 Optics Planet Special Offers SPAM via e-mail trying to sell me more products when they couldn’t even process the back log they already had. I have unsubscribed from Optics Planet, will never order from them again, and I would not recommend them to anyone in my law enforcement and military network.

    I have been watching a solar panel on OP web site, and when I finally wanted to order the item, the priced had changed, no big deal but as normal I went to the MFG website and the item was in stock for $40 less.. The OP price is $120.00 and the mfg site lists it at $84.00. Contacted Sales at OP, 3x before I even got a response from someone. Tiffany was the contact for OP, and her response was " The best price we can offer is $110.00. This pricing does not include any applicable sales tax or shipping fees." (cut and pasted from email)..

    Really, 10 bucks? ... I guess I could find a 5% coupon somewhere online, but still not even close to the mfg website.. I have bought many items from them over the years, but with CS like this, not following their own policy's about price matching, I will be searching long and hard before i drop any more of my money into OP just because of this...

    1) lack of email response ( took 3 emails for a reply ),
    2) items out of stock, but shows in stock on OP website,

    3) CS lacking in that " Personal " touch.

    I purchased a barrel and optic off Optics Planet for my Glock about a month ago. I had heard some stories from friends essentially telling me "don't buy anything from Optics Planet unless you know for certain that the item is in stock, or you will never receive your items". I made triple sure that my barrel and optic were in stock and made the purchase.

    Few weeks later I noticed that my items haven't shipped (which was understandable since we are in a pandemic right now), but just to make sure, I checked my items to make sure they weren't on backorder. Which they weren't. A week later I check again and see that both my items are now out of stock but will be back in stock in about 7 days. A week later, I check again.. This time both items are now expected to be back in stock in about 4 months. I instantly cancel my order suspecting that when 4 months would have come around, they'll delay it even further.     I ordered two items from Optics Planet in February. After the fact, it showed one item out of stock and backordered. I would've bought the item elsewhere if it was stated that it would be backordered, but it didn't until later. I figured no big deal, I'll get it soon enough. When I emailed them, I was told it would be in stock and shipped mid March. That came and went with nothing. I emailed again and got the BS about the pandemic causing delays, and it would be in mid April. Told them I understood, but once again, the item showed in stock when I ordered it. Mid April has come and gone with nothing, yet the item is for sale on their site with no mention of backorders. Emailed them and haven't heard back. I never had issues with them in the past, but looking at past reviews it appears the old "item is backordered" after the fact seems to be a common occurrence. I'll be going elsewhere for future purchases. Also filed a complaint with the BBB.

    Ordered something that said it was in stock. Turns out it had no estimated availability so I tried to ask if they had something comparable to replace it. After no one answered me after a few days I canceled the item. A day or so later I thought it was crap the customer service ignored me about replacement for the item. So I went back and canceled the entire order. Now almost a month later this company decided to send out and change me for half the order that they actually did have. Almost a month later they over drafted my bank account for an order I canceled because of their lack of customer service. I canceled the order and didn't keep the funds in my account because I canceled it. Now I can't get the company to do anything about it. They act like this is my fault. There's literally nothing I can do except take a $100 loss from my bank and pay $192 for an item that I canceled. I would never use this company! Go to your local shop!!

    Bought an expensive telescope mount said to be in stock. Got an invoice by email the next day that it was expected in 1-3 months. Got customer service on the phone after a very long wait the next business day and cancelled the order. Got an email later that week that it was in fact in stock. Got customer service on the phone after a very long wait (emails generate an automatic reply that it will take a week to respond to emails), confirmed that it was in stock and (stupidly) reordered the item from them instead of selecting a more reliable vendor.

    Over a week later, I received half of the item (normally ships in 2 boxes with stickers on them that it is a set of 2 and that they should not be divided or separated).

    Got customer service on the phone after a very long wait. They said they'd look into it with their "missing parts department" and that the item is now on backorder, so they can't just ship the missing box, and they might have to refer it to the manufacturer to eventually ship rest of the order. They could give no estimated time frame on any of this. Still waiting on an update of the status of the other half of the item ordered and paid for. If they're as busy as they say they are, they should be able to afford a competent staff, inventory system, shipping, and customer service department.

Order items that were noted in stock and a week after the email stating expect shipping and tracking info....I get a trickle of emails telling me this item is now in stock and is being prepared for shipment. Going on two weeks now and my checking account keeps bouncing back and forth with charges and still no product in hand. I’ve ordered thing from their competition and received everything in 2-3 days. Email aren’t being responded to. No one is answers the phone. I’m to the point where I will have to go to the bank and file a claim. And change my card number that I’ve had for a lifetime. Sad this company has become a joke.

    I recommend you look elsewhere for the gear you need. Optics Planet is a shady outfit with non-existent customer service. I placed an order for several items a few weeks ago. I spent hours researching the web to find a vendor that had items available and in stock. Every item I ordered was shown as "in stock, ready to ship". It turns out, that was a lie - I received a message the following day that every single item I ordered was on "backorder".

    I ended up waiting a couple weeks for the items to arrive, but they never did. During this time, I received an email every couple days to let me know that they were pushing my estimated shipping date back further. I tried and tried to reach these fraudsters via email, telephone, chat, etc. to cancel this order. Right after I fired off some email demands to Optics Planet, they immediately billed my credit card and printed shipping labels. While the labels have been printed and tracking information created, these items have still not shipped over a week and a half after they printed label/billed my card.

    This is a tactic used by shady companies to sell you inventory, advertised as "in stock", that they do not actually have available. Research Optics Planet before you place an order with them. You will see this is a recurring theme with them. Here I am, over a month since I placed the order, and unable to reach ANYONE at Optics Planet via any method. I am currently disputing 2 separate orders from these shady crooks with my creditor. It is complicated because they printed a shipping label, even though the tracking numbers show the orders still have not shipped. Optics planet is not answering customer.

    I have made several purchases in the last few months. Based off my experience they offer a wonderful variety of merchandise in a user friendly and categorized fashion which was refreshing. Of the items I purchased there were a few required returns which was no fault of theirs. The return process was simple, fast and seamless. Areas where improvements can be made is in the areas of shipment times and false representation of what items are in stock. I search for items in stock and every order I have ended up having to wait because that item wasn't actually available. The items that are available take weeks to leave the warehouse. Great place to purchase if you have all the time in the world to wait for delivery. Other online retailers I have recently ordered through are delivering at a much better pace so at this time I am choosing to take most of my business elsewhere.

    I ordered a camera in mid April. They said it would arrive in two weeks. It's passed its expected arrival time and I have no update on when it will show up. I contacted the company and they said the item will be back in stock sometime around mid May. Then I have to wait for them to ship it to me which can take another two weeks from what they told me. I ordered in April and I won't be receiving the item till mid June at the earliest. To add injury to insult when I requested a refund they sent me a return label that expires in 10 days. I don't have the time and won't have it for some time. I just want my money back.

    I’ve been shopping at OpticsPlanet since 2016 and have been satisfied until recently. I realize with the Covid-19 shipping times are slower but there are other similar products websites that can get it to me in 3-4 days. My biggest complaint is OpticsPlanet saying the item is in stock when it really isn’t and will take 2 months to get it. I thought inventory was all computerized and didn’t have to be manually entered into the website to show sold out items.

    One order I made was received on 4-5-20 and showed all items were in stock. I made the order online 2 days prior. 4-5 days after they showed order was received I get an email saying preparing to ship but one item was out of stock. After 2 weeks and still no change in order status I called and after 20 mins. on hold was told items would ship week of the 27th. The item that was out of stock was now in stock and they were waiting for it from their distribution center so it should ship a couple days after. It’s been 22 days since they received the order and nothing yet.

    I made another order on 4-21-20 for an in stock item, received an email two days later that they were getting it ready to ship. Two days after that I get an email saying it was now out of stock and would be 7-9 weeks but offered a substitute. No thanks, canceled order. Found brand new, in stock item on EBay and ordered that instead. Didn’t look close, OpticsPlanet, they said on EBay expect delivery between 4-28 and 4-30. Today is the 27th and I just got an email saying out of stock 7-9 weeks. I don’t know should I wait? I wanted the FDE colored red dot sight to match my AR15 build. This item is unique to OpticsPlanet and not even available through the manufacturer, Holosun. Should I cancel and buy a black one from somewhere else and send that to cerokote just to wait longer? Thanks and sorry for the long read just doing some venting.

    I placed an order at OpticsPlanet.com on four "In Stock" items. The order was submitted on the 10th of March. On the 21st of March, I received an email stating that there is a delay in shipping. A few days later I contacted OpticsPlanet.com through Facebook Messenger. I was advised that my order was "scheduled to ship" on the 21st but they sent a shipping delay email. I had paid approximately $45 for expedited shipping for an event on the 16th, but the "expedited shipping" only applies to the actual shipping speed, not when the order will actually ship and they had no intention of shipping my order until 11 days later. It is now the 27th, My order never shipped and I am attempting to cancel my order and I'm being told that will take 3-6 weeks to process. At this point I'm forced to do a chargeback on my credit card. I will never buy from OpticsPlanet.com again.

    My first three orders from Optics Planet were cancelled. The first online order was cancelled because my billing and delivery address didn't match. My second phone order was cancelled because the customer services rep did not explain the process I had go through to verify an order with a different billing and delivery address. The third time I tried place an order over the phone, the verification process was explained, but would not work because the customer service rep took down some of my info wrong. On my fourth attempt I demanded to speak to a manager. It took two additional phone call before I was able to speak to one and get my order placed. That was September 13, 2020. By then some of the price had gone up, and two items were out of stock. I was told they would be back in stock and ship in a few weeks.

    To make up for the hassles, the manager said she would include a $25 gift card I could use on my next order. When my partial order arrived there was no $25 card even though it was listed on the invoice. I checked my order status online occasionally, and it showed the two items I was waiting for still on order. After several months I checked the website and despite the item appearing available for purchase, my account showed the item still on order. However, when I called I was told the item was out of stock and still on backorder. A couple of months later I called again and the customer service rep was not able to tell me the status of my order. He suggested I call back again later.

    I checked the website today. It showed the product available with a 19 to 28 day delivery time. But when I tried to speak to somebody to find out why I still haven't received my order after 7 months, I I got a message that the company was no longer taking phone calls, and that all communications had to be done through email. When I emailed, I received a useless auto reply that said I could check the status of my order online. Despite the company's claims that they will contact you and inform you of any delays in delivery, I have not received a single communications from them since September 13th, 2020. In response to other negative reviews here on Consumer Affairs, PlanetOptics describe how important customer service is to them. I believe this to not be accurate.

    Made an order on the 3rd of this month April 2020. The orders I made were of in stock items.. none were back ordered, but as soon as the order was complete, the next day I got back order out of stock emails.. Well after many complaints and nasty emails a person called me back, and nothing got resolved. He lied and only 3 of 9 items are delivered as of yet, today a bit stock came today in an opened box, with the wrong stock in it, and the wrong color but the right box.. I called and called and called and left messages and more messages and even tried to call the supervisor's number I was given the week before and was disconnected..

    None of the things I was told were going to ship actually came.. I hope people remember after this whole virus stuff is over which businesses treated people right and the ones that dont deserve our business ever again.. Extremely dissatisfied and my customers are getting upset they have paid for things and Optics Planet refuses to send them..

    I am writing this review on April 21st, I placed an order on April 3 for a shot gun stock, forend, forend removal tool and a 9mm magazine speed loader for a Springfield XD, all of these items were believed to be in stock when I ordered (due to no signs to say otherwise) only to find out five days later that the speed loader had no estimated time of arrival. After contacting them it was two weeks or more out before they could get one, I cancelled the speed loader with no issues, then less than a day later it said the same thing about the shotgun forend (please contact is for ETA). I am still waiting on any of my pieces to ship almost 3 weeks later. I’ve received numerous emails “Updating” my order all of which have been the exact same email with no change in status.

    I have been ordering from many other retailers online (big and small companies) during this covid 19 pandemic and every other company is keeping up with orders and demand. I have yet to wait longer than a couple days extra with anyone else. Seems like they ought to let the customer know when things aren’t in stock or on back order prior to the customer ordering with them, by the time I receive my order it will have been a month or greater waiting time. All of these items could have been ordered elsewhere. I tried this company due to slightly lower pricing but it was not worth the wait time to save 10$. Buyer beware.

    I placed an order for items which showed in stock. Once I had paid for them and added 17.10 in expedited shipping (3 to 5 days) I received an email with shipping times for items in stock that were 10 to 20 days out. When I emailed them they said they would refund the 17.10 and ship for free (was available when I purchased) and now could expect 5 to 10 days in transit once they shipped. Very deceptive clearing house for stuff they order from others once you place your order. Be aware of this website. I order a ton of parts from numerous other websites, Midway, Batches, 22mods for all etc. All with clear stock of items and super fast shipping. And I know you're saying, but Covid delays, I have been ordering from others with no delays. When you pay for 3 to 5 day shipping and they haven't shipped 5 days later. There is an issue.

    I should have read these reviews before ordering. My first order showed different ship time frames but all in stock. I got a notice after showing two items in extended backorder, so I cancelled those items. Everything else said ships in 1 to 4 days so I am assuming that means in stock. I keep getting processing updates but now when I go to view status it says my order does not exist.

    Now the processing updates are strange. One showed all items on the order and the most recent one only showed one item. I have never dealt with a more confusing process with any seller in the past. Slightly better prices but not worth the headache. They need to be more transparent about availability and handling time. I will update this when I actually find out what I am going to be receiving and how long it takes to get to me.

    I will begin by saying I understand the current circumstances. So what I am here to complain about is not the slow shipping. What I am here to complain about is the way in which the slow shipping is being handled. I called Friday the 9th of April to ask if my order is being delayed. I asked this because their website says that you’ll get an email if your order is delayed and I didn’t get one. The gentleman (no name given) who answered politely let me know that the order was indeed delayed and even gave me a $10 credit for the trouble. That was nice. So that bumped this to 2 stars. The gentleman told me that the order would ship the next day (April 10th). Cool.

    Except not cool because come Monday the 13th of April, I saw my order still hadn’t shipped so I called again. The gentleman (no name given again) who answered the phone this time took my order number and said, “I see it was supposed to ship out last Friday, let me go look into that for you.” After a brief hold he informed me that my order was on the “fulfillment table” (whatever that is) and would be shipped out the following day. Cool. Except not cool because today is that following day and my order still isn’t shipped. Listen OpticsPlanet... if your employee had told me that the order wouldn’t ship until this week when I first called, I wouldn’t have any issues. They could have told me a major league ballpark estimate of “next week maybe” and I would still be happy and understanding of the situation.

    My issues are purely with employees giving multiple empty promises. If you don’t know when it’s going to ship. Just tell me you don’t know. Then you won’t have me calling in every time the next promise is broken. At this rate it’s faster to order parts directly from manufacturers. I’ll be patient for this order but after this (and this is my first time ever shopping here) it’s going to take a magnificent sale or something to get me to come back.

    I ordered some "in stock" items on April 5th and paid for expedited shipping. Since that time my ship date has moved so far back that the gear I ordered (if I don't cancel) is going to arrive after I need it. I now see that some of the items that I ordered are now "out of stock" so I am getting worried that they won't be able to fulfill their already delayed ship date. It's amazing that other companies that I have ordered from had no problem shipping orders during this pandemic but OP is having such trouble.

    I suspect this is another instance where they ship directly from the manufacturer and HAVE NO IDEA if items are in stock there or not. You would think they would prioritize orders with expedited shipping because people are paying extra to get it fast but I guess not. Communication has been non-existent and they haven't contacted me back after multiple attempts to reach them. Come on OP! Improve your process so people don't feel taken and ensure you can meet your orders. I would have understood if the delays were the equivalent of a week but not several months.

I have ordered several shooting and optics related items from other online sellers and have received better and faster service than OP. I ordered an in stock item 2 weeks ago and the item has not shipped yet and OP customer service just tells me it is shipping soon after multiple emails. To make matters worse they have already billed my card for the order. I requested a refund but I have received no response. I think they probably drop ship a lot of orders direct from the manufacturer instead of stocking the items themselves and this causes delays. I am choosing not to use this online seller in the future.

    First off, I am not affiliated with OpticsPlanet in ANY way, aside from recently being a first time customer. Though after stumbling upon these recent, ridiculous reviews, I felt compelled to write one myself. In my experience, my order was a rather smooth process. All items were shipped in a timely manner and arrived on time. One product I received I opted to return, and getting an R.M.A. was a simple process. I opted for store credit and easily printed out a shipping label that they provided for free for ground shipping through UPS.

    The only reason I stumbled across this thread was because I returned a product that did not meet my personal expectations, and because I checked out as a guest, and did not create a user account until after I got my products, I was interested in how they would provide the store credit. With that being said, here is my personal response to these utterly unacceptable reviews I read...

    1) It CLEARLY states on O.P.'s website that due to COVID-19 they are experiencing delays in fulfilling orders and the shipping process. If you did not read this, or understand what is going on in America, then shame on YOU!

    2) I would have to imagine that product availability is on a first come, first serve basis. Many products are in high demand due to this pandemic. Thus, if there are 10 people that ordered the same product that they only have 10 in stock, and you are the 11th customer in line, the product would no longer be in stock by the time they got to to your order. Not THEIR FAULT. Good grief.

    3) Understandably people are stressed due to COVID -19, and are attempting to acquire products to keep their families safe and sound. Many local stores are out of stock and people are relying on online stores to fulfill their needs. However, attempting to dismantle a company's reputation due to people's addiction and desire to "instant gratification" is unfair and unjust. Emotional attachment, and being illogical are no reasons to give a one star review based on things that are out of the control of a business. Many businesses are struggling now due to this pandemic, and many will not make it through this financial crisis and it will leave many people in the workforce out of jobs. Just be thankful that places like O.P. is still open for business and doing what they can to keep products rolling off their shelves and getting them into the hands of their customers.

    I felt someone aside from the people at O.P. needed to speak out on behalf of them. Many people today just play the victim when things don't go the way they want and will do anything to lash out and act like they are justified in their irrational actions. NO ONE owes you ANYTHING in life, and playing the victim will only further your own self worth into frustrating despair and just makes you weak.     I have ordered parts from 5 different distributors for a build, OpticsPlanet is the only one not to have even shipped, must less delivered. I get it, everyone is busy and overloaded during this pandemic. It's been 10 days, multiple 'Item shipping soon!' (often for the same order, over and over) emails, but nothing. I don't understand who's orders they're shipping, but it certainly isn't mine.

    I have been systematically cancelling orders with them as I find products elsewhere, and so far only one more to cancel (out of 4). Thankfully, I am (after a few days) getting cancellation confirmation emails). Nonetheless, I have waited on hold until it automatically hangs up, and send emails asking about ship times, NOTHING. Again, overloaded, I get it, but this is an OPPORTUNITY! Lost my business, probably for good, which is a bummer since they have great prices on a lot of stuff. SMH. Primary Arms is the way to go.

Then finally got a hold of someone and then the parts in stock still have not shipped after 5 business days. Everything is smaller than a can of soda and they cannot seem to ship my order.     All the bad reviews are correct. They mislead shipping times. They state 1-3 businesses days to approve orders. Then wait for shipping. Why they take your money and fail to ship “in stock” items is beyond me. They have excuses about approval times, "Your order is being processed at the shipping warehouse, etc etc." Even look at the robotic responses on This ConsumerAffairs website. They are all the same over apologetic BS. This company is a perfect example of online clickbait selling.     Ordered an item and requested 2nd day delivery. Four days later order is still 'processing' so I cancel the order online. Three days after canceling, a shipping label is generated. Three days after that, it's picked up by UPS. I have a feeling OpticsPlanet is just a dropshipper who makes their money on the sheer volume of sales and has no knowledge of the product or care of the customer. They often have the best price, but do not order if you need your item in a timely fashion.

    Adding an additional star out of consideration of the events nationwide and the fact I started receiving more updates on my orders. I still believe the site needs work and it should be made more clear if items are not in stock. For items that aren't in stock with the company and are ordered/shipped directly from the dealer, there should be more transparency here. For items which are cancelled from an order which hasn't been processed yet, there should be an automated method in place to reflect this on the site. The prices can be competitive, but mainly be aware of availability when placing orders.

    Website is misleading. They let you add items to the cart, there's no "out of stock" message, it isn't made clear during checkout that it's not available, and they charge you prior to shipment / order processing. Just expected to click on the obscure availability text to later find it's actually not expected for a long way out. Further, the supposedly 'in stock' items in my order keep shifting around in dates of expected shipment despite saying "In stock" at the time of PURCHASE.

    Understand they are busy right now, but after emailing and with multiple attempts throughout the whole day to get on the line with a representative, I could not get in touch with a single person despite long hold times. Now have multiple orders with some items in stock and some out of stock -- go to cancel the items appearing out of stock in the orders, but the site just says they'll contact you and there's no clarity on when the in stock (are they?) items will ship or when I'll be refunded to order elsewhere -- so my funds are in a hostage situation. This is honestly borderline fraud because after all the similar reviews, they are clearly aware of the transparency issue and are leaving it misleading to drive sales for products they don't actually have while locking up people's funds in the process. The ethical way to handle it if you're at the 'mercy of a manufacturer' is to not charge the customer until you've verified the item is on its way.

    As you can read from most other reviews. They have issues when it comes to your order being shipped and if it's really in stock. My order qualified for free shipping due to spending 400 bucks on a spur mount. I paid for expedited shipping so it would get to me faster. After it was EVENTUALLY shipped I see on the tracking page that they used ground. So even though I paid for faster shipping they used the slowest option available for them to save money. Thank God I didn't use the free shipping or they would have probably road a bike to deliver it. I guess because I'm not sure what's slower than ground? Please don't bother, Optics Planet with your mass automatic copy and paste response saying "deeply sorry" that you sent everyone else.

    I fell prey to these scammers just like everyone else leaving reviews here. I purchased several gas masks from Opticsplanet on 2/26/20 that showed to be in stock. They sent a confirmation email and withdrew the funds from my account. They then sent an email saying my order would be “shipping soon”. The order never came and just showed “processing” on their website.

    On 3/18/20, I received an email from them asking me to review the product that I ordered. I left a negative review and very quickly received an email from them saying that they were sorry but my items were no longer in stock and that the order was being cancelled. Did they say they would refund my money or take responsibility? Nope! They said the mistake was simply because they sell so many products! Oh and they offered me a 5% coupon. My email asking for a refund received no response. So now I am out $130 with nothing to show for it except for a 5% coupon for a company that I would never order from again. I wish someone would investigate these crooks who are obviously just taking advantage of people.

    Ordered a jacket and decoys from this company around Black Friday that were supposedly in stock. I kept getting reassured they'd be here by Christmas. Never came so I cancelled my order and am just now receiving it. Awful company.

    Ordered product Wednesday evening February 26 (leap year, 29 days in Feb) with 2 day shipping. Card was processed February 27th. Contacted them March 2 inquiring about my 2 day shipping. They said the order is still being processed. I needed this by the 4th. I asked if they could update to 1 day shipping and I'll pay. They could not guarantee that it would go out the next day. I lost out on the gun competition because of their incompetence. Do not fall for their shipping claims.

    Placed order for Leupold red dot sight. Amount of order immediately taken off gift card. Order placed on hold because payment processed as credit card. Spent well over two hours on phone in multiple calls. Promised would go out 2nd day air by today. Got email at end of day saying order still on hold. Now told money was being put back on card but could take days before I see my money back on card. Only then will order be again placed. Could not get Optics Planet to overnight item even after the total inconvenience due to what I can only label as incompetence. I will probably not order again from them especially if I need something right away.

Every time the website shows all the items in stock, but when I place the order, suddenly, none of the items were in stock. They show great prices, but who wants to wait weeks for something that you are charged for immediately.

    I purchased a slide assembly on 2019-12-01 when the item was still showing in stock. After a few days, the item shows as back ordered, and my order status became waiting for item. The initial ETA was early January, and then it was changed to unknown. I logged into the website today (2020-02-01), and was surprised to see my order was cancelled while the product shows as discontinued. There is not any form of communication about my order cancellation. It is shame that it took this company two months to realize a product was discontinued. With such a terrible practice, I would STAY AWAY from this company.

    I am not happy with this company at all. Even though I save a little bit of money on items, the fact that I scour the site looking for IN STOCK items only when making purchases only to receive emails after I've paid my money irritates me to no end. I will avoid at all costs items that are labeled out of stock. They always claim they're out of stock on the most crucial parts that I order too. Out of stock items are also not billed the same as the day you purchased the item. The last purchase(s) I made was huge. Over $1k but the items I needed most were out of stock. On top of that, they later billed me for a MUCH HIGHER price on the item because it's always changing. They also did not honor the 11% off coupon I utilized when making that order. That's BS.

    Ordered a frame on December 5, 2019 - a Christmas gift. Received the item on January 21, 2020 - two days short of 7 weeks. Full refund only for store credit. Utterly deceitful emails along the line: 'you'll receive the item shortly,' 'we'll be shipping it promptly,' 'we are preparing the item for shipping.' A total disgrace.     Ordered a $2500 item from OP this morning. The website shows item in stock. I pay for 2-day shipping. I get order confirmation almost immediately but subsequently receive a notice that my item is on hold pending completion of an ITAR form and answers to questions about my intended use and location. I emailed the completed form and answers to question within 30 mins. My Email requested acknowledgment of receipt. 2 hrs later, I called to ask if my info was received, why the additional information was required and how long this issue would delay my order. I was told that this item triggered their ITAR compliance policy and that they "usually" process these things in 1-2 business days. I was informed of a banner on the product page that provides notification that it was an ITAR item.... which I suppose is their way of telling me I should have known of the delay and additional requirements.

    When I reviewed the info under the banner, it did say they CAN ask for the additional info, not that they WILL. It also indicates that by agreeing to proceed with the transaction, I agree to comply with ITAR requirements.... which would indicate that they'll just ship my item absent any red flags. OP has a self-imposed, clumsy and poorly executed ITAR policy that is not clearly identified on their product pages. They allow themselves 1-2 business days to achieve something that could be done in 1-2 mins. They trigger the requirements even when the buyer is not on a prohibited list, shipping and mailing addresses are within the US and email address is US-based. I can purchase this item from multiple vendors that do not ask that I fill out forms or require me to answer silly questions about my intent. I canceled my order and have no intention of shopping at OP in the future. If you enjoy being treated like you would at a typical DMV, Optics Planet should satisfy you.

    I purchased a jacket from Optics Planet in early December, which was in stock and scheduled to be delivered a few days prior to Christmas. Right before it was supposed to be delivered, I received an email stating they did NOT have any in stock and they were back ordered 20-40 days. I even contacted someone at the store and they confirmed they would be in stock shortly. Now, several weeks later I get an email stating that they will no longer be carrying those coats. Please don’t waste your time on this company, I’ve noticed many other reviews stating they falsely claim things are in stock even when they aren’t. And customer service is no help.

    On December 20 I placed an order for a product. It was suggested that I expedite the shipping to get the gift by Christmas ($24.95). At the completion of the order i was told an email confirmation had been sent. I took a screenshot of the order number and that was the last time I heard from them. DO NOT Order anything from this company. At this point I am trying to get my money back and the status of my order is “unknown delivery.” The expedited delivery was obliviously a fraudulent attempt to collect additional money from a consumer.     OpticsPlanet falsely advertises they have products in stock when indeed they do not. I made the mistake to order Alphaburly boots from them because they were the only retailer who had them marked as IN STOCK. Turns out this was a lie, as they did not have them in stock, and delayed the shipment of my order by over a month, with no ship date guarantees. Ultimately I had to cancel the order because it all started to seem like a big scam. It's hard to understand how a business can charge you for services they cannot provide - the BBB needs to look into this. The operator on the phone did not even bother asking why I'm cancelling my order nor felt like apologizing for the inconvenience - goes to show you how they feel about customer service. If I could, I would give them 0 stars.

    I ordered a mesh hunting chair for my son for Christmas. This was the only place I could find one that said it had it in stock. I received an email immediately telling me my chair was on the way and my bank account had been charged $126+ for my order. I even paid up for fast delivery of approximately $28. Then, I received an email telling me I would not get my chair until end of February.

    I immediately emailed them and called them on the same day to cancel this order and ask for my money back since they had charged me. I was told the cancellation had been done and would receive my money back within 3 days. Checked my account -- no money! I called again -- I was told by that representative that no cancellation had ever been sent to the manufacturer and he was doing it that day. I would received my money within 7 days due to the holidays. To this day I still have not received my money! This is a fraudulent company! Do not order anything from this company! They lie to you -- and now I have lost $126.00 that I didn't have to lose. I am retired. The only thing I can say is buyer be aware!

    I had ordered a red dot sight on November 28th and was unsatisfied with the product. I then decided to return it using UPS as the carrier and it was delivered December 16th. I then decided to contact Optics Planet after a few days had gone by and they had not confirm the receipt of my package. After being more patient I decided to contact them a few days later. They told me it takes one to two weeks to see a refund. I proceeded to contact them three more times regarding a refund and I was told the refund was sent to me and I asked for a copy of it sent to my email. I then figured the matter was resolved. But here I am on January 2nd with no refund and no red Dot sight.

    So I decided to check out the email that was sent to me regarding the refund. On the line that said amount to be credited back to me it said n/a. Which I found odd so I then went to the order history page for the item in question and there was no record of a refund being sent. Normally when you refund an item the order would say returned but this one just said shipped. I have bought from optics many times and I can't understand why they are giving me the runaround on a refund that I should have had weeks ago. I hope that this reaches someone from opticsplanet who can properly refund me because frankly this is getting out of hand. I would recommend another company if you plan or you foresee a possible return because they will make it extremely difficult for you.

    To start with, I've read some reviews about Optics Planet/Campsaver prior buying from them and, truth be told, I was a little bit worried when I made my purchase, because most of the reviews were negative, but there were some positive feedbacks as well, so they (and the lowest price in the market) convinced me to make purchase. Maybe I got lucky, but I've got exactly what I expected and even more (I also got some bonuses for my next purchase). I've received new and original boots which were much cheaper than even on the manufacturer's website. My main concern was that the boots I've ordered could be fake ones/damaged or something like that, but they weren't. They came in original packaging, with all the labels and they are 100% originals! And I'm so happy to have them.

    All in all, I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Perhaps OpticsPlanet, indeed, have a lot that they need to work on. And I guess they have to pay attention on the reviews. But for the sake of justice I just wanted to share my experience with you. Hope it helps! Nevertheless, based on the negative feedbacks, I suggest you to be vigilant and ask managers as many questions as you need about the product you want prior buying from here, just to be on the safe side.     I purchased a "new" Meade LS*-ACF telescope from OpticsPlanet, the telescope had scratches and tool marks on it, and the gear noise was terrible. I requested and received, the RMA number and shipping label to return it for exchange, as specified on both the Return Merchandise Authorization and the shipping tag. I have been ignored by the company and received a refund rather than the scope I bought my wife for Christmas. I tried to reorder the telescope but the website would not allow me to. The excuse was they are out of stock. I would have waited for the exchange. I'm disgusted with OpticsPlanet and their continued disrespect for my wife and me. I am a decorated, combat disabled, Vietnam veteran.

    Navigating the site and the check out process are both fine. However, after paying an extra $30 for 2 day shipping, my order was delayed due to some random error in their system that flagged it as an International order despite the fact that it was made in Georgia, USA. The customer service representative I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. But when it was finally shipped a full 48 hours after the order was placed, they shipped it via UPS Ground, which is 3-5 day shipping. I'll be cancelling the order and shopping elsewhere in the future.

Today I got an email stating that the item is not available. So I called into the customer service rep to find out that it’s been an extended back order. Their website is very misleading and I will not be shopping for them ever again. On top of that their customer service is useless.

    HORRENDOUS! Totally misleading and some of the worst customer service that I’ve ever received. I’m hoping my horrible experience will save someone else from making the mistake of using this company. I placed an order on 11/24/19 because it was cyber Monday and I was in need of some new gear. They advertised free “value shipping”, which I looked into prior to placing my order. Their site stated that for “in stock” items, you could expect a 5-10 day turnaround. Even with offering a few cushion days near that 10 day mark, that was just fine for me.

    After entering payment info and confirming the order, everything changed. When I checked my order status, it showed that every single item that I had ordered, all of which were listed as “in stock” while I was shopping, were now not available and needed to be ordered from the supplier. I found it obnoxious and inconvenient, but I could deal with it.

    Over the next several weeks I would frequently check my order status with absolutely no change. The status of the items indicated “item ordered” and there was no estimated shipping or fulfillment date. Actually, that is still what the status of my order is. I received several generic emails apologizing for the inconvenience and stating that my items would be “shipping soon”. However, there were never any updates on their website in reference to my order, corroborating that. Shockingly, I received 2 of my 6 items randomly one day. I never received a shipping notification or tracking number, so thank God I happened to be home when the package arrived so it wasn’t stolen off of my front porch. I will say that the items were in good, working order and were exactly what I had ordered. Despite receiving these items, my order status on their site for these 2 particular things still had them listed as “item ordered”.

    I reached out to the company via message on their website, because when you select the “contact us” tab, they immediately send you to that option by default. I inquired about my order status and received no response; that was a little over a week ago. Today, I receive an email that some of my items will be shipping soon. In this email, they have an estimated shipping date for 3 things. 2 of those are 4-6 weeks and 1 is 10-21 days. The funny thing is, one of these items is an item that I already received. So, I check their site again for my order status. They have now doubled all of the items that I ordered, with the exception of one. My 6 item order has now turned into an 11 item order without any action on my part. I have sent yet another inquiry and don’t anticipate any response. Or, if I do somehow hear back, I don’t anticipate that I will be given any useful information that would allow me to track my purchase or hold them accountable.

    Bottom line is, don’t waste your time or money, especially if you need something by a deadline. Their website is basically entirely false. The items they say that they have in warehouse ready to ship, are nowhere to be found. Whatever the estimated time for shipping is that they provide, at least double or triple it. Totally misleading. I have ordered things from the UK and China from less legitimate looking sites that have arrived more quickly, and have communicated with their customer much better. OpticsPlanet will advertise these incredible sales with free shipping...it’s nonsense. The free shipping means waiting a minimum of 2 months for your order. If you want to spend your hard earned money somewhere, go literally anywhere else. This business and the way that they operate and conduct themselves is an absolute joke.

    This negative review is the result of my second horrible ordering experience with OpticsPlanet.com. I ordered a Nikon Black back on Oct 5th and still haven't received it. Worst online order fulfillment ever! Shop elsewhere if you want to receive your product in a reasonable time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. There won't be a third. Couldn't be more disappointed. Next time I'll stick to a trusted source like MidwayUSA or SWFA.

    I purchased 3 black flannel shirts $30 dollars each. I thought this company would have well made flannels shirts. These shirts were made in China. I did not see that information. I washed in cold water and dried on med. They shrank terribly and have lots of fiber/pills all over them. Do not buy clothing from this company. They will not take them back.     I ordered one scope from them and paid them PayPal, one day later they send me a email that said they need extra information about me because I had international email. Never had the problem, but somehow they need extra info about myself because I had different email address. I responded to that, send them email of answering 4 questions they asked. No response, so I called them and a lady told me that I have to send it to different email address. So that day I send them another email address that I was provided.

    Next day still no response, so I called them again, and this different lady told me that I have to send email to this email address and that given email address was the one I’ve send in first time. And I told her, "I have send email to that address, but I’ll send it again, so while you are on the phone with me can you check if you guys get it?" And she said “oh we are different department, so I can’t do that.” I just told her to cancel my order. Still waiting for my refund. I needed this scope for a weekends, and they messed it all up. I cannot believe this crap. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. They’ll screw you up too.

They messaged me the next day after I paid to say they won't deliver until December 25. They will renege on sales agreement without providing any compensation.     What a joke of an operation. Placed an order, my first, for 6 items. One came. Then I got an email saying they were processing my refund for the items I returned - which I never received. Found out that their shipper (not sure if UPS or FedEx) stated I refused the shipment...at 5:30 in the morning!!! What a joke. Called the company and they said they would send it back out to me. All's well.

    After a week, still no merchandise or tracking label. Called again...Hold again... Talked to a guy and after 30 minutes of explaining, talked to his supervisor that said they couldn't reship me my order until they received the merchandise that I "refused" - even though I never got it! Ridiculous decision by a ridiculous company. Glad I found this out on my first order. Will NEVER order from them again. Good luck going out of business. If you don't have good customer service, you have nothing.

I was required to provide to my sales rep, all the necessary detail (rifle and scope specifications) which is relevant to determining the ideal permanent mount solution. The sales rep in turn provided this detail to a "backroom" technical expert who I was not permitted to consult with.

    Bottom line....the scope mount that I received was not even close to satisfying my requirements. The mount I received was not a PERMANENT mount model as I specifically requested. It was a "Quick Detachable" mount which can significantly affect the rifle's shot precision. Yes, there are many variables to be considered when mounting a scope to a precision marksman rifle. But using the sales representative as a middle-man between myself and the so called expert is inefficient and prone to errors....(just as I worried might be the case).

    This review is not intended to trash Optics Planet. I've spent many thousands of dollars over the years on OP purchases, and generally, the transactions went smoothly. This time, however, OP has proven to me that their PROCESS for evaluating technical detail falls far short of ideal. Placing a technically unsophisticated sales rep between the buyer and the expert is a large mistake. The risk of miscommunication of critical specification detail, from the sales rep to the expert, in purchases where the technical spec detail drives the solution is far too great. The end result is that my critical time table for having this gun ready for an event was greatly disrupted.

    My only recourse was to contact a legitimate gun store and speak with a real rifle expert. After a ten minute conversation, the seller (expert) recommended a Spuhr, model SP-4001 instead of the Spuhr, model QDP-4006. I immediately ordered this item from this gun shop....OR....DID OPTICS PLANET EXPECT FOR ME TO GET BACK WITH THEM, after obtaining the correct information from a seller who actually took the time to adequately gather the necessary detail????

    I purchased two items from OpticsPlanet with payment taken immediately. 40 minutes after placing the order they sent an invoice for an incorrect amount despite taking full payment. I contacted them to be advised that one of the items was out of stock with an estimated time to ship of 7 to 17 days. I contacted them after 8 days as the estimated time for dispatch had increased to now between 9 and 19 days despite the elapsed time to be informed this date was only for new orders and that my outstanding item was due in within the next day and would be dispatched within 2 days. After another 8 days passed I contacted OP again to be informed that they had lied and my item hadn’t been ordered in to meet my order and that they were still waiting delivery!

    After requesting a date that this item would be fulfilled initially I was advised the shipment came in yesterday and was in the warehouse. When again I asked for them to confirm when the order would be shipped they then advised that they are at the mercy of the supplier and my order would ship ASAP once received into the warehouse. Hang on. You just told me the item had been delivered into the warehouse? Questioning this resulted in the chat being terminated!!! They do not respond to emails and blatantly lie over web chat and when caught out terminate. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

    I would love to rate them high as I order a lot of stuff, but have never had this much trouble with any company. I was in Customer Service for years and know what is (and isn't) good/great Customer Service. I cannot seem to get them to ship my products. At the very least I expect to be sent an update telling me exactly how long of a delay I would have to wait. They tell me my items are back ordered but neither one is listed as Out of Stock. I had to call Customer Service twice for status. Once, a week after ordering and then another week after that. Two weeks without an Email, an apology or my products.

    Their web site claims unbiased Reviews (we'll see). It also boasts: "By building a company where exceptional customer service is not just a goal - it's a passion. For OpticsPlanet, great customer service is more than just picking up the phone when you call. To us, it means providing the most complete offering of products, services, resources and more to create a premium shopping experience each and every time you visit." I should not have had to call at all! But call I did... and to cancel my order. I also asked for a Supervisor to register my complaint and was told one was unavailable. Hmm. So I am waiting for a call.

    With 500,000 products, 4000 brands and 523 Categories their apparent desire to provide a 'Premium Shopping Experience' one would think I would at least have gotten an apology, or an attempt to keep my business, which they did not and have lost. Great Customer Service is becoming a thing of the past. But it is not impossible to achieve. Just treat the Customer like you would want to be treated; and as though your job and reputation depends on it-because it does.

    My wife purchased a Griffin Armament upper for $1,250 from OpticsPlanet.com with VIP pricing. It was $50 cheaper than MidwayUSA (great company). Received the upper quickly and saw that it would not pin to either of our two KAC lowers. Filled out the RMA and attached the outer and inner RMA labels. Used my UPS account to send it back with signature required. Upper was sent to OpticsPlanet.com on 9/10/2019.

    Upper was received and signed for on 9/20/2019. I called today (9/25/2019) and they have no record of the return being received. I provided the UPS tracking, the signature-image of the individual who signed for the package, and pictures of the inner and outer RMA labels on the actual package. Issue was escalated to manager "Christopher" who "looked into it" but doesn't show the package as being received. Beware. I'll be forced to contact my card-issuer.

    OpticsPlanet has items showing in stock when they are actually out of stock. They will not tell you this right away so you will end up waiting for 2-4 days as they order the item and then ship it finally. If you email the customer support, they seem nice enough... but if you bother to call and talk to a live person, in my experience you get a snarky ** who denies anything and blames their website or you. I won't be ordering from them again. And instead went with Buds Gun Shop and Cheaper than Dirt which both shipped my items next day.

    I had ordered a pack then called customer service after I realized it was the old model without features. They said, "Ok I will cancel and send out the new model." They charged me for the old model and new model. I never got a refund of 94.27. My new pack arrived after 16 days. I opened it and inside was the old model pack I canceled. I just kept it because I'd pay 94.27 to not need to talk to incompetent people again. They still have my money for the new model so who knows if I will ever get the pack. They are a very annoying company to deal with. Their customer service was polite though they seem to have no idea what on earth they are doing. Annoy people enough they eventually just keep whatever is sent.

    I had purchased a night vision scope from OpticsPlanet.com and arrived not as described and sold as. Scope was supposed to come with magnifier and was also scope had damages to it when I had received. I contacted customer service immediately and after a long run around I gotten a return authorization. I returned it as received and was instructed. After a week or so they received it and a further return inspection I had received proper refund that was credited back to my credit card I had purchased with. Sometime afterwards they then went ahead without my permission, recharged my credit card again for same amount without any warning. I hadn't realized this after making a recent payment to credit card and seeing this unknown charge by OpticsPlanet. I had to file an unauthorized fraud charge with Credit card company.

    So...spend X amount of money at Optics Planet and they'll ship your order for free. Sure, they do just that. Using FedEx Surepost. One day shy of TWO WEEKS to receive my AR-15 upper from day of purchase. This is in no way any better than UPS's Smartpost. Both suck tremendously. If you want your items using normal shipping methods, you're going to have to pay for it. That is, unless you don't mind waiting. I hate waiting. For me, I'm going to start asking .coms about their shipping methods first. Unless I'm desperate or they're offering me the farm for pennies on the dollar, I'm gonna pass. I've noticed more and more how retailers and eBay sellers are going this route. It sucks.

    I ordered a barrel on 6/20/19. Order status said it would ship within 7-15 days. I waited 18 days. I Checked on my order. It said back ordered so I called customer service and asked about it. They said they were sorry the shipment arrived late and came in last night and assured me my barrel was on a pallet and would ship out the following day. So 3 days go by still no shipping confirmation. Instead I get an email saying that my barrel was yet again back ordered. So I called again and was told they have not received the product from the manufacturer of the barrel yet and it would be shipped out on 7-29-19. So come the 29th my barrel still hasn't shipped. So I call back again and the customer service representative told me it was back ordered again and it should ship within 3 days. Yup. You guessed it the barrel still hasn't shipped. Once I finally get this barrel I'll never buy from OpticsPlanet again. You lost a high volume/purchasing customer for life.

    On a Saturday at 2:45 PM I placed an online order with OpticsPlanet. 60 minutes later, I realized I placed the order for the incorrect item. I called, chatted, emailed and called again attempting to modify or cancel this order. The transaction had not completed thru PayPal and the status on OP's website showed "processing". All the customer service reps were not helpful stating they could not cancel or modify my order. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got more runaround. They tried to tell me the item had already shipped, but two days later the status of the order still says "processing". OP does have a cancellation policy, however it is not supported by OP. I told them I would not accept delivery and they gave me additional grief and threats of delayed refund. They continued to complete the PayPal transaction. This is the worst online retailer I have ever dealt with and plead with customers to stay clear of their online sales.

    I had made a purchase from Optics Planet Inc via Amazon, as they host one of the largest Night Vision retailers (Armasight) and they had a FANTASTIC deal going on for a PVS-14 pattern night vision monocular, in fact I was so excited, I shared several of the item listings which were all within the same price range of the item I purchased with my colleagues. Unfortunately (working for a bank) the links were restricted and they could not process purchases. Not really unfortunate for them, since I had already purchased the item and when it arrived it was COMPLETELY not the same item (or even close to night vision) that I had ordered.

    I reached out, concerned, to the merchant. They then proceeded to tell me that the listing on Amazon was incorrect. Now. I'd usually chalk a bad listing up to an accident, HOWEVER, there were multiple similar products being sold at near identical prices. When I had advised the rep at Optics Planet, they offered me to switch the incorrect item out for the correct item, the small caveat being I pay the price difference (At full price, these items are $1-$3 THOUSAND more expensive). I advised that the only reason I had selected this item was because it was so well priced, I could never afford it at retail. The representative did inform me that I may request a refund. I provided my email address and waited for the return shipping information... And waited... After a day or 2 of waiting, I went ahead and submitted a return request from Amazon.

    My item is currently en-route back to the warehouse. I also contacted Armasight about the issue, and have since escalated with Amazon themselves. For any merchants reading this. Please be good to your employees, this may be a disgruntled inventory manager, or stocker or ??? whoever listed the items. I have used OPinc for a lot of my purchases but this, however, is a very gray area that I as a consumer want NO business in.

    Placed an order of a trolling motor with them on 05/19/19, still haven't received my order. Their site listed the motor was available to be shipped when I ordered, and they emailed me claiming that it was not available and should be ready in a couple of weeks as the manufacturer is making it. 3 weeks went by, nothing from them, asked for update again and was given the same excuse. Now more than 6 weeks passed, still nothing, asked for update again and was advised to call and purchase something else other than what I need. This will be the last time I order from them.

    I decided to make an order from this store because they are one the few firearm accessories dealers that take Paypal. On June 15th I order a few items. The 16th I received an email stating that some of the items couldn't be shipped due to some import/export certification they don't do. That's fine, it happens, the two most important items however didn't need the certification, so they wanted me to either call or email to make sure it was ok to cancel the rest of the items and proceed with the other items. Reading how they sometimes have CS issues I decide to call the next day and spoke to a very nice lady. She asked for my info, I explained the issue, and agreed to proceed with the order. She says, "Thank you, we'll get those shipped out to you asap". All was good.

    Today, the 24, I decide to check on the order and in their site it still shows as "processing". I decide to call in and check and they promptly told me that they had sent me a few emails detailing that they couldn't ship some items. I explained that I had received it and had called in the 16th to make sure the order for the remaining items proceeded. Then they tell me that they had never received a call from me and that the order hasn't been processed at all. I proceeded to cancel which was done promptly. OP gets 2 stars because the CS reps were nice and respectful and were able to quickly cancel the order. If you need items in ANY type of hurry, don't bother. Heed the reviews!

    I ordered three flame resistant clothing items on Monday morning, paying a surcharge for expedited 3-5 business day delivery. All items were shown on their website as in stock. On Tuesday, I received an email indicating one item actually was not in stock. Called OpticsPlanet and inquired whether the out-of-stock item would arrive by Saturday for a trip on Sunday. Was told they were trying to determine that. On Wednesday morning, called again to ask about the items because I had not received any shipment notice for the two in stock items. Was told that they have the third item now in another warehouse and that they would ship separately. At this point, I expressed concern I would not receive the shipments by Saturday and requested they be sent by 2nd day with Saturday delivery. The phone rep said he could not authorize the expedited delivery on his own but would require supervisor approval, which he would request.

    I asked him to call me to let me know outcome of that request so that I could purchase the FR clothing elsewhere, if necessary. He agreed to do so. Having not heard from him by 4:30 pm, I called again to inquire about the status. Was told the package would not be shipped that day (Wed.) and they couldn't assure me that I would receive anything by Saturday. I then requested they cancel my order, but was told that the order was already in progress and that they can't cancel it despite the fact it wasn't even prepped for shipment, just is in progress. Today (Thursday), I receive shipment notification that all 3 items would be shipped today in a single shipment and that expected arrival would be Tuesday, a full 8 days after the order was made. This means it took 3 days to fulfill the order and 5 days to deliver.

    Obviously, they decided to mislead me along the way about two shipments on an expedited basis to address their errors and that the out-of-stock item was transferred from its warehouse to other warehouse so they could save on shipping costs. The result is that I will return the items, supposedly for a full refund at no cost to me. Count me as skeptical about how that works out.

    Call me lucky I guess, can't say I've ever had a bad experience with OpticsPlanet and I've been buying from them for years. It's been stress free for me. Every time I've made a call to them, either after work or on a Saturday there is the standard robo stuff but they've always answered. I also emailed tech questions and always hear back by the next day. I'm not believing that their pricing is the best but can certainly say they've provided me superior service over the years and I appreciate their no BS return policy.     I don't typically write reviews but I felt that in this particular case, something was warranted. I have only shopped with OpticsPlanet.com one other time aside from the following experience where I had purchased a holster. It wasn't an overly expensive holster but it suited my needs and I received it within a week or two.

    Fast forward to a few months later and I found myself looking for a new backpack. I was particularly interested in the Eberlestock Warhammer and I began to do some price checking. My search brought me to OpticsPlanet and I saw that they were having a sale on this particular pack. Not only were they having a sale but they also had an additional coupon code available that brought the price down to close to $75 below the going retail rate. I noted that they only had one pack in the coyote brown available, all other options were back ordered. Wanting to take advantage of the superb price, I quickly added to cart and completed my purchase.

    As soon as I made the purchase, my credit card company contacted me, asking me to verify my purchase. I found this rather odd but it raised a flag with me all the same. I confirmed the purchase but something still wasn't sitting right with me so I went to look up my emails regarding my prior holster purchase. I couldn't find the emails and I began to get increasingly alarmed, thinking that maybe I had been mistaken in regards to who I had purchased the holster from. So I started to look up reviews regarding this particular company and I became further distressed. The reviews are not good and though there seems to be cases where the goods get delivered or at least refunds issued, there seems to be an enormous amount of hassle and their inventory tracking software seems less than accurate.

    I soon remembered that I might have paid for the holster via PayPal and I checked my PayPal records and did indeed find the transaction where I had certainly paid OpticsPlanet. This put my mind somewhat at ease. However, I was worried that I might have become a victim of the "bait and switch" tactics that seem to prevail according to the reviews. Completely expecting a notification that my backpack was back ordered, I was quite surprised to receive a shipping notice the following day.

    Immense relief ensued but I was still cautious and figured that I would be even happier to see the item on the move. I opted for the "value" shipping as it saved me 25 bucks but I would not recommend it if you are in a hurry. Keeping an eye on the tracking was akin to watching paint dry and it was aggravatingly slow. Nevertheless, despite my misgivings and my impatience regarding the shipping, my pack arrived and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I will be taking it on its maiden adventure this weekend. So to summarize a bit: Despite the concerns I had, this company delivered and I got an exceptional product at a terrific price. The 4 stars is simply due to my own angst and the speed of the shipping but ultimately, I received what I paid for and that is all that matters in the end.

    I ordered a pair of Oakley prescription eyeglasses from Optics Planet because of the great advertised price. The price even beat my LEO discount provided on Oakley’s government site. Based on the reviews I have read and my current experience it appears they lure you in with a good price then claim the item is back ordered which is what happened to me. It took Optics Planet 2 weeks to find out from their “vendor” the color of glasses I ordered was on back order. They have me the options of waiting, changing the color or canceling the order. I was told if I did the color change the glasses would be available “immediately.” I replied to the email accepting the color change option and called them to confirm they got the email. They confirmed my reply and said the item was being “rushed.”

    Optics Planet must have different definitions for immediately and rushed as it’s been a month now and the order has yet to even ship. I attempted to post a similar review on their site and it was denied due to not meeting their “review policy.” I also had an issue with the price going up after I placed the order. The price reverted to the original magically after I emailed them about the discrepancy. Luckily I have a screenshot in case they attempted to deny this occurred.

    This place needs to be investigated as it appears they are running some sort of baiting scam. I don’t say this lightly and as a long time economic crimes investigator I know a scam operation when I see one. They seem to be skirting the line on criminality based on the consistent bad reviews this place receives. My review was almost identical to this one. Their review policy must mean all negative reviews are denied. I fully believe and positive reviews of their products on this site are plants. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE.

    I purchased a item I needed expedited to me. I paid for expedited shipping. Optics Planet sent me a confirmation email of my order with an estimated ship date of 1-3 days. After 3 days I called and they told me they had a stock issue and the item is backordered. I had received no email or anything from them stating this. The company has low prices on their website because they sell backordered items they don't actually have in stock to bait you to their website to hopefully buy more stuff.     I purchased SigSauer Kilo850 Rangefinder from OpticsPlanet, that was portrayed on the website as new. When the confirmation was sent the unit was now being communicated as a "demo" rangefinder. When the unit arrived at my home it had no instruction manual, had no straps for the rangefinder and the case holding the rangefinder had someone else's initials in the case.     2/24/19 ordered 2 items from them as described on my order buy one get 1 free. It took over 30 days to get deliver and when opened was only the free half of the order. They are very disorganized and claim I received a new item when it was a demo as shown on box I got. OpticsPlanet claims that it was all I ordered even though the order clearly shows 2 and the price of $189 and change. You can’t get anyone to answer the phone or respond to emails for days. They advertise one thing and give you something else that’s why I say it is bait and switch. They charged me more for the free part of my order than they charge for it online back in February and even now in May. I hope they will do the right thing and complete my order so I can change my review but I’m not sure based on past experience. We shall see. I have filed a BBB complaint and registered with my credit card.

    This has easily been the worst online ordering experience I've ever had, order #**. Ordered March 31st, product shipped and lost by either FedEx or USPS, probably because parcel select is the cheapest and worst option for you to send your products. After waiting 5 more days for some kind of change in the tracking number (as suggested by your customer service) I called on 4/11 to file a missing package claim. Customer service said they can't file a claim until 5 full business day, so I have to wait until Monday to file that claim. Ok, I'll wait more... So Monday I call, wait on hold for 46 minutes, then finally talk to someone, they agree to file claim and reship, I change it to business address because now it will require a signature and I can't take a day off work to sit at home and wait for it. Ok, agreed, going to reship FedEx Ground to my business address.

    Get a call the next day saying, "Sorry. We can't change the address of a reship to anything, it has to be the original address, but will require a signature." So, now we have lost another day, and I'll need to take off work to sit at home and wait for it?? This is a stupid policy, you already have a customer that has been waiting. So I call back the next day (today) and wait for 28 minutes on hold to talk to someone. Now I have to go the route of store credit, wait a couple days, and I'm instructed to check then to see if my store credit has been applied yet, so then I can re-order???? Why am I the one making all of the sacrifrices of time and phone calls? Easily the worst online ordering experience ever, I could have spent a few dollars and drove 30 miles to Cabela's and had my AR15 completed 3 weeks ago. Instead I'm waiting. 19 days in, and the product won't even ship for a few days if I'm lucky.

    Several years ago I ordered from OpticsPlanet, after a month of waiting I canceled my order. Well I decided to try again because of sale prices, big mistake. All I ordered was a parts kit, nothing special. Looks like I might get it barely before a month has passed. It's sad they refuse to improve because they could be one of the best to order from online.     I ordered a NAA 22 mini mag belt buckle. They sent me one for a 22 long rifle, not the right. I called them and called them. Was on hold for 25 minutes. The first three times, I left a message to call me back, never got a return call. I finally got an RMA# and I return the item and requested the right item be sent to me. They finally got back with me and said the item was on back order and didn't know when it would be available. By this time I was a little hot under the collar and told them to cancel the order and refund my money to my credit card. They did refund the money minus the shipping charge, so I had to pay shipping for a very bad experience. I only gave them one star because I couldn't give them a zero. I will never even think about shopping there in the future.

    I placed an order March 21st 2019 for an "in-stock" item. Shortly thereafter I got an email saying partial shipment and the product was 7-16 days out. I've called and sat on hold for 34 min one time, 27 min the next time, called and left messages, emailed and nobody gives me the time of day. Even today Zero for a response in any way, shape or form. I just want to cancel the order or hear it's being shipped, anything!

    I used PayPal instead of a credit card therefore I cannot place a stop payment so let that be a lesson in itself. I am nobody special or important to them and I understand that but I am however an very dissatisfied customer and know from research that I am one of many. Apparently I'm just going to have to accept this horrible experience for what it is until they decide to send it to me but I will say.... Never again, They have lost my business for life and I will make it a point to make sure I never order a single thing from them again, and also advise others who ask me to look elsewhere.     I ordered a pistol brace kit a few days ago and accidentally put the wrong billing address so the issue is my fault but I've been trying to contact them for 2 days now, by email and by phone to fix this issue, their emails say they have a live chat option for assistance but that also isn't true, so I will NEVER be doing business with them again. I've called BOTH customer service lines and have sat on hold on both lines for over 20 minutes. Step up your game amateurs.

    Have been a long time customer of OpticsPlanet but recently I have seen a significant increase in order processing and 1-800 hold times. An example is a order placed on March 20th for a bipod adapter and compensator 8 days later (March 28th) still has not been processed or shipped. Another example is the past three times I have called the 1-800 number, it has been at least a 25 minute hold until I talked to a human.

    Now OpticsPlanet will say it is a "seasonal issue" but have never had this issue before. I think it is a staffing or management issue myself. Either OpticsPlanet is saving a dollar by running on a bare bones staff or management has zero knowledge in how to either process orders quickly or answer the phone. My recommendation is to promote the billing manager! Within 10 mins of an order the billing manager has already pulled the cash from my account.

    Time to look for another company to purchase my items from. Too bad since I have spent about $3,800 in just one year alone with OpticsPlanet. Will be letting everyone I know around the range not to do business with OpticsPlanet. Will pay more for prompt shipping and answering the phone... Wrote this review while on hold for 18 minutes with OpticsPlanet and still holding!

    I placed an order for a DDM4v7 URG. The product page showed that there was 1 in stock. The next day, the product page was updated to show that there were plenty of units in stock and the price increased by several hundred dollars. Several days later, I got an email from OpticsPlanet's compliance team saying that they need to cancel my order because the product I ordered is "regulated." Of course, 99% of their inventory is regulated. They're firearm parts and there's nothing preventing me from legally making the purchase. The email failed to specify what's actually preventing them from fulfilling the order but they did offer me a 5% discount code to apply to my order if I order it again (at the newly increased price).

    I guess it wasn't a compliance issue after all. Just a bait and switch tactic. Went to Gilbert's and bought the same item for around the same price. Shipped immediately from Gilbert's without any issues. Here's a hint if you decide to buy from them: If you go to their testimonials page on their site, as far as I can see, all reviews are positive. Then do a Google search for "OpticsPlanet reviews" and you'll find that most third-party reviews are negative.

There has never, not ever been any issues or concerns as the staff and personnel have always been very professional, courteous, and most efficient in assisting the customer. In fact, OpticsPlanet has provided discounts to us, whereby many other retailers are more concerned with the inflow of cash.

    Every time I’ve placed a call to OpticsPlanet, there has always been someone on the other end to readily assist me in a most timely fashion. Yes, on rare occasions one may have to wait but that is contingent upon the hectic, fast pace of a retailer (OpticsPlanet) trying to fill orders, as well as brisk sales during holiday periods. Emails sent are always answered; as details further enhance upon, and provide the needed documentation relating to our order(s).

    Their prices are very reasonable, more so than the many retailers attached to the world wide web. OpticsPlanet carries a large variety of optics, hunting, shooting gear, apparel, tools, photography equipment, action cameras, and much, much, more.     I prepared this review due to OpticsPlanet providing concierge service to us each and every time; failing not. In so doing, I found many reviews mocking OpticsPlanet in various ways which we cannot believe. Some of the stories seem far fetched to me and are overly saturated with assertions, innuendos, surmises, and mere conjecture. If any read some of the negative comments, one can readily see an innumerable amount of linguistic errors, and notice strings of meaningless diatribe that are just unbelievable.

    We provide positive feedback where the merchant has treated us with respect, being more than fair in all areas relating to business management, and always strives to aid the customer. This is what we have seen first hand in the course of our purchases. We consider OpticsPlanet a very viable source to acquire many things, and as stated earlier; an excellent retailer.     I order two magazines for my Walther PPS M2. They were in stock and I was eligible for two-day shipping. I placed my order and a week and a half later I still haven’t received it. Optics Planet has good deals but bad customer support. It took over a week before my email to them was responded to. Better websites I would recommend are, Palmetto State Armory, Brownells, or even Preppers Gun Shop. All of these places are much faster and have better customer service.

    On March 6th I ordered protective goggles for SWAT. On March 7th I received an email stating that the item had shipped. The tracking number with USPS, however, states that they have not received any shipments from Optics Planet. They took my money fast enough. From what I see here what they have learned from these complaints is to take your money fast and leave you hanging. They do not answer phone calls no matter how long you stay on the line. They do not answer e-mails. No contact to resolve this issue. They have all products in stock even when they don't. They take your money tell you it's shipped knowing that in most cases people will not do anything about it. Your bank or card co can do nothing as you cannot prove that they did not ship the items. Looks like my lawyer will be the next call.

    I see many posts have the same issue with the less than impressive customer service. I placed an order for a set of Redding reloading dies and received the incorrect order. I sent my first email to customer service on February 26th and I received four auto generated emails since then asking for pictures. My first email contained a write up of the discrepancies and detailed photos showing the items are not what I ordered.

    After waiting on hold for an hour and half yesterday I learned they only monitor emails sent to QAQC@opticsplanet.com. I sent another email tonight, I can’t wait for their response. I’m not very hopeful at this point, but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. OpticsPlanet if you are reading this my order numbers are ** and **. I hope you come through and restore my faith and in your company by fixing this error.

    They may reply to this as they finally did with my emails saying how their customer service is #1 priority. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I have NEVER been able to talk to them on the phone after multiple 30+ minute wait times. They respond to my emails eventually saying, “sorry - we are busy”. I order 5 items 2 weeks ago, all were in stock in stock at the time of purchase. Next day, received an email saying thanks for the order, 2 items are not in stock. One item was gonna take 18-32 days, other 8-15 days. 2 days after the order I tried to call about the items that were in stock, no luck.

    They shipped 3 days after the order. Good news was the long lead item shipped too. I gave it 13 days and decided to cancel my last item on the order. 27 hours after my cancellation request, credit card was charged for the 5th item, no shipping email, now says out of stock, nothing else from them. Multiple phone attempts, nothing but wasted wait times. Email responses from them are, "We're sorry." Worst online distributor I’ve ever dealt with, period.

    Guaranteed 2 day shipping actually goes ground and takes 10 days. I ordered a pistol brace at 11 pm on Sunday night, with a window of 1 hour to guarantee delivery by the following Tuesday. Paid for the product and received confirmation in my email. TWO DAYS LATER, on Monday afternoon, I receive a shipping receipt that states the label was JUST printed. Today, Tuesday, when I'm supposed to be receiving my order, I check the tracking number to find out my item will not arrive until NEXT Tuesday. A full week after the guaranteed delivery date. I have been on hold for 45 minutes, while I type reviews online, to speak with a representative. I will never shop here again, and I urge everyone to avoid this site.

    Ordered a Serpa Duty holster for 1911s with rail and/or light that states it fits Colt 1911s. It might fit someone else's Colt 1911, but not mine and what it definitely does not fit is a duty belt, or any holster belt due to the belt loop area being far too narrow even when adjusted fully out. So, the product fails on 2 counts and the shipping fails on all counts. Took forever to get here and taking forever to get back to them via FedEx Ground. My money will have been tied up for a month when this finally gets resolved. Un...believable. Never again. Only tried them because the product was no available on Amazon and that is probably because Amazon realized the product was a fail to begin with. Sorry OpticsPlanet... I may be a slow learner...but this only took once for the real shopping experience to my last with you.

    Updated on 03/03/2019: I finally issued a complaint to the Better Business Bureau on Feb 28th and the same day they informed me that they would make an "exception" for me and on Mar 1st, they emailed a different account of mine that I never gave them to tell me that they had processed an "early replacement" for me. I had previously asked for a discount and they said they would apply one. The invoice showed that the "discount" was not being charged full price again for my replacement. They shipped it and it arrived on Mar 5th. It was finally the right scope and only 37 days after I ordered it. Later that day, I was informed that OpticsPlanet had indeed charged me the full amount a second time. Luckily there were insufficient funds and the attempted theft was declined. Don't buy from this company. They are the worst company I have ever experienced.

    Original Review: I ordered a Primary Arms 1-6X24 FFP 7.62X39/.300BLK Raptor scope on Jan 27th and my package arrived on Jan 31st. It was a $400 FFP scope box with a $300 SFP scope in it. Sent it back for an exchange. They received it on Feb 7th. It is now Feb 22nd and still nothing. All I get in reply to my inquiries are canned responses. The only difference in them being that they initially claimed returns are processed within 10 days and then changed it to 14 days. This whole thing is unacceptable for multiple reasons. Don't buy from this company.

    I made a purchase thought Optics Planet's website last Friday. This weekend I noticed that on the day of my purchase, OpticsPlanet had re-accessed my bank account without authorization and had mad an additional withdrawal of $140.51. This amount is different than that of the original purchase amount. Essentially they broke into my account without permission, or authorization and stole money.

    When I noticed this, I called on Monday to find out what happened. I was told that they had incorrectly calculated the taxes, withdrew the recalculated amount, and had failed to reimburse me the amount of the original purchase. They after bringing this to their attention they reimbursed me the lower of the 2 amounts, and said that this was a mistake on their system. I don't care. The real issue is that they were able to re-access my bank account and take out an unagreed upon amount of money without permission, after the initial transaction, without any notice afterward of having done so!

    Received a third package with critical machined parts from Optics Planet where the cheap, thin, unpadded plastic envelope was literally melted and torn open from the postal sorting machines. I know I can't be the only one complaining about how these envelopes are ineffective in protecting and securing expensive machined items. I even requested the item to shipped in a box instead of an envelope to no avail. All I ever receive back from OP is a canned apology in return.

    At the time of this writing, I am deployed to the Middle East and needed a 2 Blackhawk SERPA products by a specific date for mission. There was no movement on the shipping and no communication "UNTIL" I canceled the order - then it suddenly "shipped". Customer service never returned calls or emails in spite of voicemail messages and cancellation emails. I was on hold forever. Never again. Nice website and they say the right things but customer service is about what you DO not what you advertise. The items, if they ship, will be returned.     Still waiting on them to answer the phone or respond to my emails... It's ridiculous that I have left several voice messages, emails and still haven't received a response. Plus one of my items didn't ship which clearly shows in stock but it isn't. Now I have to wait a week to get my money back (If they answer the phone so I can cancel my back ordered item). I may have to get my bank involved. I'm not sure what's going on but this is not the Optics Planet I know.

    One thing you do not do is lie to customers. This is my last order with OpticsPlanet. When placing my order everything showed in stock. Half the order was supposed to be 2 day shipping. Now 15 days later still waiting for my order. It was shipped ground. After all the B.S and lies about the order you think maybe you would have shipped a little faster??? No thanks. I will buy local for now on even if it is a few bucks more. A few bucks is worth less stress and B.S. My last order.

    It has been over 48 hours since I ordered 2 sets of Trijicon heavy duty night sights and my order status is still processing. Also, the site stated both items had over 20 in stock of each so why is it taking so long? Maybe they will answer the phone so I can cancel my order and just pay extra at local gun store.     I have a pair of boots that I love but which were literally falling apart after 5 years of heavy use, and I was searching for replacements. OpticsPlanet was the ONLY site that still had these specific boots, as they are apparently no longer manufactured from the company that makes them, or anywhere else. And not only did OpticsPlanet have the exact shoes I was desperately searching for (seriously, I love my boots, don't judge), they were also way cheaper than I had bought them for, 5 years prior. They were around $150 originally, but on Optics they were $79, which was even better.

    But guess what - I did a Google search to see if OpticsPlanet was "legit", and there came up a billion bad reviews, so I was immediately turned off to purchasing through them. But when I told my friend I could not find my boots anywhere besides "some place called Optic something" and it has "a butt ton of bad reviews so it seems sketchy". He was like "OpticsPlanet!?" And apparently he shops through OpticsPlanet regularly and he told me they're most certainly legit as well as professional.

    So I gave them a try and gave them my money, and guess what they gave me? They gave me my beautiful boots! In just a few days after my purchase, and they even offered discounts and recommended other companies associated with tactical items and the like. So my point is give them the benefit of the doubt and give them your business. I'm sure they would appreciate it, and you'll get tons of cool stuff from them.

    Ordered some items on the 20th. One was in stock and the other said 1-3 days for them to get them in stock. After order was completed, both showed as on order. 10 business days later and neither item has been updated and the order has not shipped. After several emails and messages that they claim will be responded to in 24 hrs, they never responded and the only way for me to get a hold of a representative was to wait on hold for 20+ mins.

    To further prove their responses are canned and they have no actual intention of adjusting either their service, website, or wording on their website to avoid what is an obvious issue given the 80+ negative reviews stating the same problem, they will respond to this review by apologizing and stating customer service is a top priority. The fact you have nearly 100 reviews all with the exact same issues, I'd say customer service isn't a priority at all. The slight discount they have over some other websites is not worth the hassle. Spend a little more for a company that actually provides some semblance of customer care.

    I ordered a number of items that were run on their Black Friday sale. The Strike Industries LPK & trigger guard never came. These were intended for a Christmas build for my son. After New Years, they still had not arrived. I wasted a half hour on hold for customer service. They pointed to the fact that their hidden availability indicator said it would be 7-18 days to ship when I ordered, but wanted to blame Strike Industries for the fact that it had been more than a month. These parts have been "In Stock" and available from Strike the whole time. They insisted they would have the parts on January 8th. Several days ago their status on the LPK changed to "In Stock". My items still didn't ship. I called and waited another half hour for them to drag their lazy butt to the phone and was told the item was out of stock and would be available to ship January 31st.

    Their customer service rep didn't have any better answer than "I don't know" when asked why they were listing it "in stock". He tried once again to blame Strike when asked when they told me it when be in on the 8th and sat in stony silence when I asked how they thought it was accepted customer service that someone should have to wait more than A QUARTER OF A YEAR for simple, widely available parts. I canceled my order and will never order from them again. BEWARE: Optics Planet is banking on you being wowed by marginally lower than market prices to convince you to put up with their terrible service. Read the other reviews here. This is just how they do things. I find it laughable that they seem to be taking more time to respond here to people's criticism of their lame practices than they seem to be filling orders to satisfy customers. Spend the extra $5-10 to keep yourself respect rather than taking the crappy treatment from these shysters.

    Ordered a book bag from this company for work and school. I ordered the item on Dec 9th, and called them two separate times. The first one said the ordered should be processed around Jan 9th to Jan 16. Now I called them again today, they say the item would be shipped around February most likely. At this point I don't expect the item to come here till 2050. This is the first time I see a company who does not know logistics and would have this kind of "backorder".     I was excited to order some accessories for a rifle I bought. I downloaded the app and proceeded to put things in my cart. I went to checkout and selected the free shipping, not knowing IT WOULD TAKE OVER 2 WEEKS!     The misleading part about this company is not the products. Their products are what they say they are. The problem is the shipping practice and poor business practice of theirs. I ordered a part from them on Monday Jan. 7th. I paid for 3-5 business days. They did not ship the package until Thursday Jan. 10th in the evening. I called them on Monday Jan. 14th, as USPS says it will not be in until the 15th which is past the 5 days even allowing one day to process the order, and the representative that I spoke to informed me that the 3-5 business days that I paid for does not mean that it will arrive at my place in 3-5 business days but that it will arrive in 3-5 business days of when they ship the package. So potentially, you could be shelling out extra money for priority or even overnight shipping and still getting it a week later. That is just really poor customer service. I will not be buying from them again.

    Ordered Kryptek extreme cold weather hunting bibs and jacket. Compared prices on multiple sites/and shipping costs. Chose OpticsPlanet because they had best price and my size "In Stock" with 5-8 day delivery. I ordered and I received a notification via Email. A few days later that it was pushed back 8-17 days? So I called and they said that their vendor had delayed order? They blamed Kryptek, and I said it shouldn't even matter because my item was "InStock." The service rep danced around questions. And tells me that they don't guarantee delivery dates. That "they" emailed me? And gave me a 10% discount for inconvenience.

    Needless to say missed using gear on late season hunt that was intended for purchase. Call to follow up today. More of same, shipment from Kryptek postponed again. Another week delay. Charges to Credit Card already. But was informed by OpticsPlanet they are pending. But yet on current bill as charged? Was hoping that maybe they would get my order correct. And was informed that there's a little box that says check availability after you cart item. I guess that's how you confirm if anything on website is legit. Don't go by "In Stock." I will give them the week to resolve my order. If I cancel it, I won't ever order again from their company. And I hope this review would enlighten other buyers. There's a lot of room for improvement in regards to the existing OpticsPlanet process.

    I ordered my items on Jan 1st. I was told they would ship Thursday. They didn’t. Then I was told they would ship Friday. They didn’t. I called to cancel the order and they would not let me. On Saturday morning I got an email saying the items have shipped with tracking number links. One link took me to FedEx and said they had not received the items from OpticsPlanet yet. The other link took me to USPS which also said they had not received the items. It’s now the following Monday and both shipping sites have still not received my items from OpticsPlanet for shipping. I will not use this site again and would not recommend it to others.

    Order 1: they wanted to authorize my bank account (weird, but fine by me). It took them 8 days from the time I placed the order until the time it shipped. Order 2: Order placed Friday morning. Monday I receive an email that the item is not in stock. Order 3: After I ordered an item it went on sale later that day. I called to see if they could adjust the price on my order or cancel it so I could reorder with the new price, but I sat on hold for 20 minutes until their customer service department closed. So I sent them an email to cancel the order and let them know that they will never have my business in the future.

    I ordered the product on Jan. 4 Friday. I skipped the free shipping and paid an additional $29! for two day shipping. Jan. 7 Monday afternoon comes and still not shipped. I called and they said it would ship today or tomorrow (Jan 8). So to get this straight I paid $29 for two day shipping and they aren't shipping it until 5 days after I ordered.     A company that has to write hundreds of apologies to people who have had a bad experience showcases a company that does not learn from their mistakes. I have never had a nice experience with OpticsPlanet. EVERY SINGLE ORDER has either been listed as in stock only to find out they were backordered, or even if the item was in stock they take forever to ship and use Surepost which is guaranteed to take 3 times longer than it should. I live less than a 40 minute drive from their location and it takes 10 days to get something from them. OpticsPlanet...you have some serious changes to make. At this point, everyone I personally know in the shooting world, knows about your terrible service. How this doesn't convince you to change and become more like every other company I've ever ordered from beats me.

    I ordered a Trijicon Riflescope 4.5-30x56 AccuPower on the 2nd of January 2018. I was notified that there was some error in the billing, as a result I had to verify my identity via one of two options. I chose the Paypal option. The money has been sent on the 3rd of January 2018 and I have contacted this company twice. Nothing from them in response. I have done business with them a few times in the past. For whatever reason the site changed my billing address for the card I was using to the shipping address causing the initial problem. I am unsure what has changed at this company, but it is not for the better.
