A week after order placed and paying $25 for shipping 3 bags that wait about 6 ounces total, they have not process the order. Not only that, but called customer service and their call center seems to be in furlough. First call waited 30 mins in line and then went with the option of a call back. 5 hours later nothing. Called next day, waited an hour in line and the same. OP needs to get his business together. Not the experience I was expecting from such a gigantic retailer.

I placed an order for a 6 pack of Master Lock Python cable locks all keyed the same. Master Lock Python Security Cable, 5/16in, Case of 6, Black 2489 $147.99. Package arrived with only a 1 lock package. The box is for 1 cable lock. However, on the bottom label it says, "Case of 6." Additionally, the order was placed on September 9 and not delivered until September 26, a total of 17 days. I tried to resolve this matter with the support team and even sent photographs of what was received. But no resolution was made other than being told to return the item for a credit or refund. The support staff also advised, “Alternatively, it may be worthwhile to try and contact the manufacturer yourself to have the missing parts sent.” The entire purchase experience is truly unacceptable, and I will be taking my business to another vendor.

Sometimes, a Manufacturer will resolve issues like this directly which is why this was recommended, but we are only able to proceed with having it returned & exchanged.

I found a product cheaper at Midway and asked if they would price matched and allow me to use my coupon. They agreed. Told me to make purchase and send order number and they would credit. I did. When it came time to credit they tried to say I ordered wrong item. The item they said I was supposed to have ordered was cheaper than price they agreed on normally. So why would I agree to pay more. I finally decided to call because it takes them at least 2 days for each response. I was on hold for over 3.5 hours (have screenshot to prove). They assured they would call back and never did. I did end up returning but by time I realized they weren’t going to honor their word, it was off sale at Midway, so they ended up costing me $300 and my card still hasn’t been credited for return. The frustrating part is they blamed me for mistake all the way to end. I have emails and photos to prove everything.

I ordered some Larue index clips and a monocular nearly a month ago. After that I also ordered MRO flip cap and bore sight. They only sent half the order only the flip cap, reached out to them expressing my concern and was told the monocular was out of stock and that I would have to pay shipping on the index clips. They should have sent them with my other order instead insisting I pay shipping. I still haven’t gotten the bore sight, slowest shipping i have ever seen.
So I emailed them to cancel my order and all the sudden the index clips are showing they are being processed and when they email me back they say nothing about canceling the order like I asked since it hasn’t left their facility. In fact I emailed them back and forth 5 more times to cancel my order and they do not listen. So I decide to call. Ok it says "10 minutes and your call will be answered," at 1-1/2 hrs on hold I gave up. Just shows how much they care about the customer. And I tried to review the stuff I already received only to be declined on all my reviews, shady OpticsPlanet. They lost a customer for life period.

Updated on 08/31/2025: After six days, the first package that was shipped began to move within the postal system. I'm still not happy with the service I've received, but at least I know they actually did ship the item.
Original Review: I ordered some scope rings online on 8/23/25. They said they shipped them on 8/25/25 and provided a tracking number. As of today, 8/30/25, the post office still has not received the package, and it appears that it was never actually tendered by Optics Planet. I emailed and called Optics Planet yesterday and was told I needed to wait 15 business days before they would “file a lost package claim on my behalf.” Why 15 days, and who are they going to file a claim with? They never shipped the item! I’m going to have to ask my credit card company to do a chargeback to get a refund. I see how Optics Planet has earned its F rating with the Better Business Bureau.

We are truly sorry for the confusion & this inconvenience. We have reviewed your order and when you submitted this note on 8/30, UPS was still not yet showing their initial scan of the package, which certainly caused frustration for you. When they finally updated the tracking on 8/31, it included their first scan data which happened on 8/26 and the transfer to their first distribution center on 8/31 so at that point, the tracking was updated and the package was moving thru the system.

I placed a poor review on the Optics Planet website. I received a response that this review was not accepted by them. I’ve never had a poor review simply rejected because they didn’t like it. Looking outside their website the reviews were horrible…yet on their website it’s only top ratings. I call that false advertising. Soooo…I’ll say it here. They are slowwww to deliver products.

Don't use, they may not ship to the address you put in your account and instead ship whenever they feel like and blame you for their glitchy system. I have used optics planet over 10 times. My last purchase was shipped to an address from 7 years ago even though they had my current address listed as my default address.
My last 8 purchase before this one were shipped to my correct current address I've been at for several years. They blamed my bank for giving them a different address. They had my correct billing address in their system, (you know, the one the BANK has). I checked my bank account, they don't even have that address as an old address, they only have my current address in their system.
Things happen, the glitches are a thing, but this was so clear and they are refusing to fix it. They want me to go to my old house and ask someone I don't know if my parts arrived and if I can have them. I'm super uncomfortable with that especially with the nature of their products. I just spent a significant amount of time on the phone with a professional and empathetic customer service rep who seemed to genuinely be trying to help for her to tell me her manager was refusing to fix the situation by either shipping me my parts or refunding my money.
I would highly advise against using them, their system is very messed up and if you put in your address they may ship it elsewhere without notice and refuse to do anything about it. I double and triple checked, this was them, not me. I have a recording of the end of the call for my credit card dispute so I can show the bank they are literally blaming you. I am curious what they will tell the bank as I'm sure "it was your fault" isn't going to work with them. Things happen, it's what you do when you make a mistake that matters and they do the wrong thing. I can't even imagine if you had a more nuanced situation, this is simple, clear, and verifiable. I will not be ordering from them again

I recently purchased an item that was defective (no fault of Optics Planet). I was about to call customer service when the phone rang, and it was Paul with Optics Planet checking to see if I was satisfied with the order. I explained the situation and he apologized (again, no fault of Optics Planet) and he immediately sent a pre paid return address label and personally retrieved a replacement item for immediate shipment. I can't recall having ever been so impressed with customer service before. If this type of service is standard with Optics Planet, I'm a forever customer!

I tried to reach out on 7/12/25 about issues on my order, but I haven’t gotten a response back yet. Again on 7/23/25 with the same result. I even tried to leave a review on the item, but Optics Planet doesn't want any bad feedback on the items about the service. Which to be fair I can see, but when it says to contact us about those issues and no one gets back to you. What else are you supposed to do?
On my order ** I was sold a different product than the product list on the website. The optic I got appears to be an older model than the one I was wanting. I thought it was a mistake at first till I realized this package came from their return center and there was no way for me to submit a RMA request on this optic. That is a bit strange for a NEW optic that was just bought a couple of weeks (7/2/25) from when I tried to submit the return 7/23/25. Wrong product and being a returned item being sold as a different item and new is the definition of a scam. I wasn't mad about it at first, but it went way past an oops.

I ordered a buffer spring and a stock off of them. The buffer spring came in a bag not damaged but no stock. I thought the stock was being shipped separately and I throw the bag away. Was waiting on the stock but it never came. Contacted them to ask where it was and they want me to send photos of the box they put it in. Tried telling them it was in a bag but they keep telling me it was in a box. Finally I just quit. All they want to do is take your money and screw you over. Do not buy off of this company. They are thieves.

Terrible customer service. They don't answer the phone once you've placed an order for starters. They sent half my order a scope mount but not the scope I told them before they sent the scope mount not to send it if they don't have the scope and they ignored me three times via email. Then the customer service rep called me back 6 hours later and told me to pound sand that I could return it at some point on my own nickel. I hate these people.

Awful. Trying to buy a pair of binoculars. Almost impossible. Then called and got an out of hours msg (but I'm in hours). I tried their lines several times and nothing. Got suspicious so read reviews. Enough said.

I was a little concerned about purchasing a Mammut backpack because of the online reviews of OpticsPlanet.com. When I ordered, they sent me an email a few minutes later that said the order was on hold due to some type of potentially hazardous material. I called their customer service immediately because I needed the backpack fairly quickly for a trip. I reached a really nice service rep who looked up the order and said that it must be because it had the word "lithium" in the item name. By the time we finished speaking, the item had changed status to "shipping". I received it within just a couple days (shipped from Utah), and the product was exactly as described. Great experience with the service and product!

My experience with Optics Planet has been terrible, probably the worst experience I've ever had ordering anything online. My biggest issue would have to be the customer service. Just look at Optics Planet's reply to the last guy that gave a 1 star review. They treat you like you don't know what you're talking about, they talk down to you, try to make you out to be the problem, act like you're lying about your experience, and they don't value the customers. 0 stars if I could.
So I placed my order on 4/7, the order was shipped out 4/10. I was given a tracking number with USPS with a projected delivery date of 4/14. Not too bad if you ask me right? Wrong! Like any person I was excited to get my order, expected delivery day came and went, still no package came. I checked the tracking on 4/17 and the package hasn't departed Chicago since the 10th, just says "in transit, arriving late". Optics Planet website says to inform them if the package hasn't been scanned in 48 hours, and also says that they will work hard with the carriers to resolve any issues with shipping so I reached out to them that my order was late.
I wrote: "I am writing to inform you that I have not received my order I placed on 4/7/25. The tracking information said it would be here on 4/14/25, well that date has come and gone and I still have not received my order."
The response I got was basically telling me that I'm just stupid for reaching out to them when their website tells me to, and saying how it's my fault for using the free shipping option and if I would have paid for shipping then it wouldn't be late. Just a very condescending reply to be sending to a customer, with a lot of underlines and unsolicited information that I didn't ask for. I told them that the package never left Chicago but they just blew off my concern and gave me a small discount on my order but never bothered to address my concerns. They just tell me to wait 10 business days. So I'm waiting and watching the tracking daily. On 4/20, the tracking updates.
"Arrived at facility Catano, Puerto Rico." I live in Colorado, Puerto Rico is not between Illinois and Colorado. So once again, I reach out to Optics Planet. Why is my package in Puerto Rico? No reply, I message again, no reply. Finally, yesterday I get a response from someone saying that my package had already been delivered with 2 links to somebody else's tracking information, later in the day yesterday the tracking updates again "Arrived at facility Florida". Like I hope my package had a good time.
Optics Planet website says 5-10 business days for free shipping. Today is now 16 business days, 22 calendar days since my order was shipped and I still have nothing in my hands and the order is actually farther away from me than it started. I asked Optics Planet for a refund they refuse to refund my money. They haven't bothered to contact USPS about my package, they basically have refused to do anything about my order. Basically don't order from Optics Planet unless you want to wait an eternity, be talked down to by customer service, be treated like it's your fault, you're less than trash to them and they don't value customers. They have a solid 1.5 star rating across the internet I wish I knew before using them.

Paid 11 dollars. Shipping website states 3-5 day. USPS website said deliver date of 4/9/25. Order was placed 4/1/25. That's 9 days. Did some research and found 180 total complaints in the last 3 years with BBB. Stay away from this site.

I had a few Visa gift cards to use and their website doesn't allow split payments so rather than placing an order on Sunday night online, I waited and called it in on Monday morning. Supposedly the order was placed successfully, but on Tuesday morning I had an email stating that it was on hold and that I needed to call in. While I was on hold for a CS rep, I opened their site to have my order information in front of me and saw that not only was the main item I ordered listed nearly $100 cheaper than I had paid, there was a banner stating that I should call or chat and mention RAD for an even better deal.
The CS Rep I was connected with was extremely helpful and patient, she adjusted the price on my order, we discovered that one of the gift cards had a hold put on because I had tried to load it to GooglePay on Sunday night (it never loaded and for some reason is still on hold) so I asked her to delete that form of payment, and gave her a CC# to pay the balance. I thought all was well.
Wednesday morning I had another email in my inbox stating that my order was on hold...so I called in and eventually got Russ on the phone, who told me that the order was held up because a gift card was declined. I explained the situation and that I thought I had resolved it yesterday and asked him to do the same thing...delete the $100 gift card and charge my card. He said he did and that everything went through.
20 min later I got an email...the order is on hold because of a card. So I called the issuer of the gift card that went through...Optics planet has captured the funds ($250) I called my credit card issuer to ask about any declined transactions, they assure me there are none. I'm using less than $1000 of $20K in credit on that card and the same on another. So I call back and speak with another CS rep. We tried other cards, all declined (impossible) and even tried cancelling the order and re-ordering it with the same result. My card issuers assure me that not only have there been no declines, there haven't even been attempts to charge from Optics Planet. This has been a huge waste of time and a disappointing outcome.

ZERO STARS for customer service. I placed an order on the 2nd and it shipped on the 3rd (all good there). Since then it has been lost for over 2 weeks (and still is) and rather than sending a follow-up item, customer service tells me their current policy is that I must wait another 2 weeks and file a lost package claim. Infuriating. I have called twice and have asked to speak with a manager over the past few days, being assured someone would reach out. Still no follow-up. Good to know that this is how OP treats its long-time customers.

Beware of Optics Planet's shady practices. I bought a pistol slide advertised as "display with minor scratches". It showed up and is a USED return. And they won't take it back, since it was a closeout item. They don't tell you you're buying a used return! Not cool selling "used/fired" firearm parts out of safety concerns! Had it stated used/returned item instead of display. I would have never purchased it, obviously. I also just learned they operate under several different names. Do yourself a favor and search "which other names does Optics Planet operate under". There are several! Then ask yourself why they operate under so many different alts? (Maybe too many negative reviews)

First of all, this is only the second review I've written during my 40 years on earth. This company is absolutely terrible. I've attempted to purchase products from them four times now, but they never ship anything. Last month, I purchased a range bag, and just today, I received an email informing me that the item won't be available for another 5 to 6 months.
I bought the range bag from their website, which said it wouldn't ship for another three weeks. I had read complaints from others about their slow shipping, so when I saw the three week delay, I expected it and was okay with it. However, after waiting more than a month, I received an email this morning telling me that my product won't be available until late July. They suggested I consider buying some other crappy bag that is nothing like what I initially purchased. If you can find the item you're looking for at another store, please go there instead and save yourself the frustration I've experienced four times now.

I'm never dealing with them again! They send you a "used" return in unacceptable condition! And won't accept a return! Won't return email nothing? I have tried to like them but have been through this a few times.

On Tuesday I looked at many items, picked Aim Sports Moss erg 500/535/590 pistol grip APGS, AND Aim Sports Mav 88 Shotgun Forarm, black mtm88, delivery set for Sat, at 10:30 am the package arrived, it was in damaged and just what I ordered. I didn't waste any time, the pictures are 6 pm, Saturday, inc the mat black paint on metal parts. My experience with Optics Planet, most satisfying.

I ordered an Odin Works 22 Arc Barrel 21" + BCG from Optics Planet during their Black Friday Sale 2024. They sent me the 18" Barrel instead of the 21". Not the end of the world. After being on hold for over an hour they offered to exchange it and advised it could take up to 10 business days to process the exchange. I've got a hunting trip planned and wanted to take the 22ARC. That wasn't going to work. I offered to just purchase the Barrel again, let them refund me on the 18" when they got it back. They said they couldn't sell it to me at the Black Friday price because the sale was over. ☹️ What? It's their fault for sending me the wrong part in the first place. They finally relented on the price but acted like they were doing me a favor. The customer service manager Lorie refused pick up the 2nd day freight to get me the correct item I had paid for twice. Their customer service is hardly customer friendly. Buyer beware with these guys.

Do not buy from this store. They are dishonest with products they sell. I purchased a product that had a no return policy and I am sure it was because it was an opened package and they knew all the parts were not there. They sold this product knowing they were going to be stealing money from someone. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. If I could give no stars I would.

Piss poor customer service. At the time of writing I've been waiting 22 days for my order that was supposed to be delivered in 3 days. Now I'm being told it will be an additional 20 days for an item that's in stock everywhere. Was told by customer service to go buy from them instead. I don't care how good of a deal you think you're getting, DO NOT BUY FROM OPTICS PLANET.

So I have ordered so much from these people but never ever again for less than 300? Placed a order. Used my family member's card that was given to me and I pay for years and used COUNTLESS times before. They double charged the card I used and refuse to acknowledge because my name wasn't on the credit card yet this was ordered from MY account. They can't tell me that YES we made a mistake. Yeah screw these people. And since people do read these reviews let me let me tell ya this. When I get comfortable ordering with a certain company 8 SPEND so I was skeptical on trying a different company. Let me spring this on ya. TRY primary arms. Just as good as Optics. Maybe better. PLUS their customer service reps are not idiots.

My order took about 4 days for it to ship out, but once it did I received it within about 3 days. After ordering I became concerned reading all the negative reviews. I spoke with customer service several times and expressed my concerns and they assured me that my item was in stock and would ship out promptly. I want to personally thank Lamar for staying in touch with me and keeping tabs on my order to make sure everything went smoothly. My item was exactly what I ordered and in great shape when it was delivered by UPS. Overall a great experience, not sure what all the negative reviews are about.

Horrible, horrible company to deal with. These shady people sold me a new AR15 barrel, what I received was the wrong barrel, and looked used. Had they owned up to their mistake, instead of denying my return, they would have earned 5 stars. Instead I had to get my credit card company involved. Run, run away from this shady company.

I've ordered tons of parts from Optics Planet over the past four years and the only delays have been for Backorder items, which were clearly labeled as "Backorder" when I placed my order. All "In Stock" items at the time of purchase have been shipped within two days. I always use the free shipping and the items consistently arrive within a week of being shipped to Nevada, which is basically crossing the whole country in a truck.
Frankly, I am impressed by the number of items available and how quickly items arrive on my doorstep. For backorder items, the website updates me frequently on the item's status. The updates often jump around so it can be tricky to know exactly when the item will be shipped but I assume that the information confusion arises from Optics Planet trying to get info from its suppliers. They have thousands of products so I give them some leeway on trying to estimate when an item will come back in stock. However, they have NEVER charged my CC before shipping an item so I am out nothing while I wait. Seriously, I have a huge wish list at OP and I intend to buy everything on it just as soon as I can afford to buy it.
