    I placed an order with OpticsPlanet.com on the 27 of November 2018 for a scope and after waiting a few days I decided to cancel. I contacted the company through chat and asked to have my order cancelled. I was told that it wasn't possible and would have to wait for the order to ship so that I could request a return. The following day a shipping label was created and eventually FedEx received the package.

    After waiting a week I received the package and promptly returned it. They use the slowest possible service for their returns so it takes a long time for the product to get back to their warehouse. After they receive the package it takes this company up to ten business days to process the return, and then again, you get to wait for your funds to be made available. So, in the end, it will be a month from start to finish to get my return taken care of and that is just unacceptable. There's a lot of other businesses out there that have the same prices but much better customer service. I will never use them again and will make sure that I forewarn everyone I know of their practices.

    I've ordered from OpticsPlanet quite a few times over the last few years. Some orders have taken more than a couple weeks, but I've just come to expect their slow service. My last order was placed on 12/9/18. I double checked to make sure all items were listed as "in stock". Nine days after placing the order, I received an email saying one of my items was back-ordered and another was discontinued. I was informed the order would ship when the one item was back in stock. Since I was going to go elsewhere for the discontinued item, I decided to cancel the rest of the order. I followed OP's instructions for canceling the order online. I didn't hear back on that request, so I called the next day to make sure the order was canceled. At that time I was informed the order shipped a few minutes earlier.

    I inquired about returning the items and was told I'd have to pay return shipping. I planned on the return until I saw that they are drop-shipping and my items were being sent with 3 different tracking numbers. While previously looking to re-order from another vendor, I found one of the items $66 cheaper from the manufacturer. When I called to see if OP would match that price, I was told they would not. So, several days after being told one item was discontinued and out of stock, OP still has this item listed as "in stock". They won't even update their inventory count when they know something is out of stock. I have been ordering from a few other companies that give great service. OP will never get my business again. Saving a few bucks isn't worth having to put up with very poor service.

    I've ordered this scope on October 19th, 2018 and the estimated delivery was 29 to 37 days out. Not receiving any update on the order status, I've chatted with an Optics Planet customer service representative on November 25th who assured me that the company was waiting for a December 2nd delivery of this scope in a number greater than the total orders placed at that time. On November 28th I received an email from Optics Planet announcing the shipping of my order within 7 to 16 days. As an established customer of Optics Planet, this was enough assurance for me not to cancel my order and take advantage of other sellers who had this item in stock and ready to ship at about the same conditions.

    17 days later, not receiving any info on the status, I've emailed customer service requesting an update and today, 12/20/18 after 5 days from my email - and not after 24 to 48 hours - customer service replied that MAYBE the item will be back in stock on January 21st, 2019. I have no use for a vendor that wastes my time by giving me the runaround and lies to its customers so I have canceled my order. Now all the good Black Friday deals are gone and it will cost me more to get the same product. I will find another outlet that has more respect for its customers and offer the same or better deals than Optics Planet.

    I have purchased from OpticsPlanet several times before without incident. Recently, things have changed and not for the better. First, a precision rifle scope was shipped in a large box containing my order and packed with plastic "airbag" padding that collapsed in transit - allowing my scope to rattle about inside the box. I got lucky. There was no damage. Then I placed two more orders for items shown as In Stock. The order confirmations did not contradict this...at first. After an acceptable amount of time had passed, I rechecked the orders and found one item each was on back order and my remaining items were being held.

    I called and after being on hold a total of 40 minutes, the Customer Service Representative (CSR) attempted to tell me the items on order were that way when I placed my order. They were definitely not or I would not have tried to purchase them in the first place. The two missing items would not be available for another month and my complete order shipped then. I was put on hold another 5 minutes and when the CSR returned, I was informed my items would ship within 24-48 hours and the ones in question "drop shipped" from a third party. I had everything within 5-6 days, not another month. WHY couldn't they have done that in the first place? I have no idea. I contacted a friend and he had the same experience with OpticsPlanet as I. Not good.

    It took 11 days to get an item from them because their free shipping is done by FedEx SmartPost. Had I known prior to ordering from them, I would have went elsewhere, so beware! It takes 2 days for this company to ship out of their Warehouse, then you can wait at least nine more days. I'm located slightly over 600 miles from their door so it's not like it has to cross the entire country to get to me. When I called to inquire I was on hold for 18 minutes just to hear the CSR tell me that they couldn't do anything until 10 days had passed, even though the FedEx tracking showed "No anticipated delivery date available". Save yourself the agony and go elsewhere.

    This company does not support veterans. I attempted to order an item for my husband and was not told it was restricted, it stated that it MAY be restricted. I placed the order and paid and they stated they sent me an email requesting more information (which was never received). The item was not allowed to be purchased by veterans. Also, there is nowhere to leave a review on their website, it only shows 5 star reviews. The customer service rep for their company stated I could leave a complaint on their website. The gentlemen also over talked me, which is disrespectful. I will never use this company and I will be sure to let others know not to use them as well.

    A few weeks ago a friend of mine convinced me to purchase a Steiner P4Xi optic. After searching all over the internet I decided on Optics Planet since they had free 2 day shipping and about 50$ cheaper than other sites. I ordered one hoping it would be delivered in time for me to pack it out for a deployment. After purchasing the product and my money leaving my bank account I waited for a week. After not getting a follow up email I decided to call, only to wait on hold for 45 minutes. I finally got an answer and much to my surprise I found out my order was flagged by the "risk management" department for fraudulent activity! They had no problem taking my money, but then didn't tell me what had happened after the fact, or attempt to contact me. This supposed department also doesn't work on weekends and can only be contacted by email.

    This website is absolutely horrid and has now taken my money with no refund in sight. They said wait 3 business days for the return, well it's been over a week now. Unfortunately these people are going to continue to scam people out of their money. This isn't just me either but a guy I work with had the same thing happen this week. I wish I wouldn't have told him about this site and their "good deal." Since we are now out 1400$. But hey ** has filled my order and I will have it next week. Shouldn't have tried to save money.

    Purchased 2 laser sights for Glock 43 at nearly $700 and needed them in 2 weeks for a Christmas gift. System allowed purchase to go through, did not mention that they DID NOT HAVE THE PRODUCT IN STOCK and even allowed me to pay for 3 day expedited shipping for a product they did not have. Received an email couple days after the purchase that said my shipment had been ordered and they did not know when it would be fulfilled. I responded to their email as instructed to ask if the product would ship by Christmas. No answer. I emailed again a couple days later - no answer. Called Customer Service and waited on hold for 30 min only to get a Customer Service rep that could not give info on when the product would shop, could care less about my order and was more than happy to cancel it so that he could get on to the next unsatisfied customer.

    Their website showed product in stock so placed the order to get in time for Christmas only to find out it was not in stock and would not arrive by Christmas. Will never order from again. If it’s not in stock they should list not in stock on their website. Not worth wasting your time.

    Put my order in to buy a Carhartt coat and it never said it was on back order. It's been two weeks and still hasn't shipped. Called customer service twice and each time waited 20 mins. Each time I left a message saying I wanted to cancel my order. I also sent an email saying I wanted to cancel my order. Four days later still have not heard anything. This was suppose to be a gift for Christmas and I'm still in limbo. Please do not order from this company!! Worst customer service I ever experienced! I guessing there's only one person working at this company. Hopefully they get shut down!

    Trying to order a gift certificate from OpticsPlanet.com for my husband has been a terrible experience. On their website you cannot just add it to the cart and buy it, nope you have to call them. 20 minutes on hold to get to talk to someone who is so severely inept at their job you have to talk slow and repeat yourself 5 times (I have no accent and speak very clearly, never have I had to do this!).

    Then after that horrible phone call I got an email saying that I had to call them back again and verify my credit information by having them charge my card “a certain dollar amount”, then turn around and call them back to tell them what that exact dollar amount was in order to have my gift certificate sent to me. So another couple 20 minute phone calls. I know they are trying to avoid fraudulent purchases, but this is too much when they clearly don’t have enough staff to cut down the wait time. My husband will NEVER get a gift certificate from OpticsPlanet.com from me again. Be warned that this is what you’re in for. Be prepared. I would have found another place to purchase from if I had known.

    I did a lot of research on telescopes and settled on a Celestron 4SE. During a Black Friday sale. Opticsplanet.com had the best pricing so I ordered it through them. What a mistake! They advertised a 2-4 week delivery time which means it would arrive before Christmas. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything from them, I called to check on the status. They informed me that they did not have any of these units in stock and would not get them in time to ship out for Christmas. I then asked if they had anything else in the same price range.

    They had two other options in stock that were $200 higher. I asked them to work with me on the price as I did have a 10% off coupon on Black Friday. The best they would do was a 6% discount causing me to incur a $168 upgrade charge. I canceled my order and will never shop with them again. If I hadn't called I would not have a major present for my kids and their lack of caring was evident and their offer of a 6% discount when my original purchase was 10% off was insulting. I ended up purchasing from another vendor who gave me a much upgraded telescope for only $50 more than what I originally paid with Opticsplaent.com. Be aware of their false promises and poor service levels.

    I ordered a couple of items from OpticsPlanet and when I put them in my cart they said they were in stock and of course they took my money for the products and then they sent me an email a day later saying that they were 5 to 7 weeks on back order and they will not return my emails or refund my money!! I'm just stuck with waiting, they are a horrible horrible company. Do not waste your money and time on OpticsPlanet.

    I ordered 4 items from this site last week that were supposedly in stock because one of the items that I ordered was out of stock at Primary Arms where I normally purchase parts. From what I can tell, none of these items have shipped yet. I ordered one part from Primary Arms the following day and received it today. I would say that OpticsPlanet is unusually slow at shipping items that you purchase from them. They do have decent prices but they aren’t great enough to wait a year to get your items. I saved a whopping $6.00 on my items by going to OpticsPlanet on this purchase. If I had received my items in a timely manner I would be going back. I purchase a lot of parts. After this experience, I don’t think that OpticsPlanet will ever get my business again. If you need any of your items in a timely manner, stay away from this business. If saving a couple bucks is worth waiting forever for your stuff then this is the place for you.

    I placed an order for one item on 11/22, the item showed ‘in stock’ on OpticsPlanet.com and said it would ship in 1-3 days. Two weeks later, nothing. I called the customer service # and was told they had the item in stock, but because I bought it at a discounted rate, they had to wait until it could be shipped in from the manufacturer. Again this was their price on their website. I cancelled my order. I ordered the same item from Primaryarms.com, and the item shipped the same day, with a tracking number and all. I think the most telling thing about OpticsPlanet.com is that, remarkably, all of the reviews on their website are ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ but when you look for reviews elsewhere, such as here, you’ll get a different picture. Use caution when ordering from OpticsPlanet.com.

    I ordered some things when I was overseas so I would have them when I got back. I then received an email asking about ITAR restrictions. I replied to their email with the information they requested. I did the chat and explained my issue. The person in chat said he couldn’t do anything, but if I replied to their email it would be handled. He also told me 2 of the 4 items were back ordered, even though they said “in stock” on their website. I finally get back to the states, and I’ve been sent the exact same email about overseas that I’d already filled out. I cancelled my order and bought from a company that does some follow up as opposed to multiple form emails. 1 star because 0 wasn’t an option. A few days later I get the I was overseas when I ordered them, but the shipping address.

    I ordered binoculars for my husband and they still hadn't shipped for over 1.5 weeks (even though they say 5-10 days) so I called the company. I was on hold for over 20 minutes before getting to talk to someone. The lady told me the binoculars were on back-order and wouldn't be shipped for 5-7 weeks; it never said that on the website and I was never notified. I decided to order them from another company. I wanted to cancel my order and was on hold on the telephone for over 30 minutes, I left my name and number and a description of wanting to cancel my order. I was never called back. I tried to use the live chat to cancel my order and was on hold for over an hour! The service of this company is horrible! I have never dealt with such a difficult site in my entire life. I will never order from them again and I will advise others not to as well. Horrible communication and false advertising.

    The OpticsPlanet website is blatantly misleading. They make it appear that they have items in stock when, in reality, they have to order the products from the manufacturer before they can ship them out. I ordered an item and was quoted "Estimated to ship within 8-19 days". I checked their website 2 weeks later and the same item I ordered was listed as "in-stock" on their website and my order is still yet to ship. Additionally, they constantly use misleading advertising such as 30% or 40% off, when every other online vendor has similar or better pricing. I have never written a review like this before, but I felt inclined after my experience with them. Do not use this website.

    I am one of the very loyal OpticsPlanet customer since year 2008 and I've ordered so many products from them I can't even count them (mostly gun accessories) and never had any major problems until recent days. Most of orders I placed orders are now delayed or asking for my attention for some kind of ITAR verification (for example Order no.**). I replied them promptly with signed documents very same day but still holding my orders up to this date. Somehow, almost every single item I ordered recently going through the same stupid ITAR process again and painful delays starts again and again! I bought so many items and spent over thousands of dollars within a month period but I'm very one step closer to return every single items and cancel all open orders from them!

    If OpticsPlanet can't fix whatever problems that they are dealing with soon enough then I will return and cancel all items then I never will spend a single dime here EVER again! Absolutely unacceptable! Worst shipping & shopping experiences I ever had. OpticsPlanet is about to destroy my upcoming hunting trip right now and most likely they will since most of my items are back ordered and being held from stupid reason. What the heck is wrong with you OpticsPlanet!? You will lose many loyal customers if this kind of problems persist and not solved. I am asking you one last time! These orders must be handle with timely manner. No.** and more!!!

    I placed an order for two items believing both were in stock and would ship promptly. I only became aware of the fact that shipping for one of the items would not take place for up to 25 days. The second item did not have any date that this would available. I immediately send an e-mail asking that my order be canceled and a full refund be made to my PayPal account. Since then I have sent additional e-mails asking for confirmation of my cancellation and refund but have not heard a word back.

    I have also called their customer service number four times. Each time I was on hold for over ten minutes without an answer. I was given an option to leave my call back number, which I did but never heard back from them. At the moment I am on hold once again waiting to talk to a "Customer Service" agent and still no answer after another ten minutes on hold. On the farm we refer to servicing the bull which is exactly what Optics Planet is doing. This will be most certainly be my last order with this company. They simply do not have the staff to handle their business effectively.

    On November 25, 2018, I purchased a Trijicon ACOG 3.5x35 Dual Ill Riflescope w/Mount, Green Crosshair .308 Reticle. On November 29, 2018, I received a strange email requesting that I "verify" my payment method. The email gave me two options. Either I could "manually" verify my payment method by calling customer service and having them charge me some random amount of money, OR, I could go on to PayPal and send the amount that way. I decided to send via PayPal.

    On December 3, 2018, I receive the very same email I received on November 29, 2018, informing me that I needed to verify my payment method. I checked to see if the PayPal transaction went through and it had. So I tried to call Customer Service but I was put on hold for over 30 minutes without anyone answering. Undeterred, I went to the "live chat" option on the website, which proved to be a total waste of time. I don't think I have any choice but to cancel the order. I will certainly never purchase anything from Optics Planet and I would strongly discourage you from doing so as well.

    Had to put in a few orders for gifts for the recent holidays and I've never seen slower shipping/handling times in my life. I mean I put in these orders almost 3 weeks ago and still says "waiting for item" or "order needs your attention" some of these orders I've already cleared with my credit card holder AND OPTICSPLANET, AND STILL HASN'T BEEN UPDATED!! Does it really take 3 whole weeks to change the status of an order? Let alone the voicemails AND support emails that have gone COMPLETELY unanswered, other than one where I decided to just cancel the item and get a refund, but guess what they replied within an hour of me sending out the email to them.

    Now I have a total of 6 orders that are 3 weeks, yes THREE WEEKS LATE and I've heard nothing from them. First and LAST time EVER buying from this company. All of their shipping times they advertise on their website are complete lies. I'm guessing I won't see my order by mid-late December if I get lucky. Most likely January.

    I have been buying things from OpticsPlanet.com for years now. Sights, weapon attachments, etc. I have never had any problems worth writing about. I ordered a folding brace and backup iron sights for my new rifle-type pistol. The prices weren't that great, but I have done business with OpticsPlanet in the past, so it was worth the extra money to buy from a place I know and trust. Anyway, so I ordered and filled out shipping and payment options. I get an email confirming all of that stuff. Then I get an email from OpticsPlanet telling me that the item is on backorder and I have to wait 6-8 weeks. There's no mention of this on the webpage for the item.

    There is a link that says Check availability of item. I find this highly deceptive and very agitating. I email them asking to cancel my order. I get an auto-reply telling me to wait 24-48 hours for a response, I get nothing. At this point, I'm frustrated and angry, but I'm busy and don't want to deal with it, so I ignore it and go about my life. A few weeks later, I check back on it and I see that the price has dropped by $20 over Black Friday. I email them again asking them to cancel my order, but again I get an auto-reply, but nothing else. Finally, they shipped the item and charged my card. I try to contact them again and still nothing.

    I have never taken the time to post a negative review of anyone but I am so angry I had to let everyone know. I ordered a scope and all of the necessary equipment to mount. Then a week later get an email asking why I am sending to my PO box rather than residence and my shipment is on hold. I wait on the phone nearly 22 minutes before rep picks up and tells me I cannot verbally reply to the questions in the email. Then she tells me it's no problem b/c my scope is backordered 5 weeks.     I am a usual Amazon customer and guess am pampered by the reliable shipping of Amazon. Don't know why I went here to save 20 bucks. Product was $20 more expensive on Amazon. Never again. 20 dollars is not worth my wasted time and energy and stress. This is the first negative review I have written in the whole year and that too because I am so upset.

    I wanted a sub zero sleeping bag for an Everest base camp expedition in winter. Most bags are very expensive and I wanted something in the less than $200 range. I purchased one on Optics Planet and it gave me a time of 2 weeks arrival. One week into the order, not only had they not shipped it, but they had no idea when the item will be available. Their shipping now said 14-28 days AFTER the product is available.

    I wanted to cancel the order, since I need to leave in 2 weeks and can't wait around, and this is where I got most frustrated. This should be a simple process for the customer. I have been trying for 3 days to get hold of someone on their live chat. they say you are 9th in line or 13th in line but when your number comes after 20-30-40 min of waiting, they say no support personnel is logged in. I did this over 5 times in the last 3 days.

    Same deal with phone support. I could not get hold of anyone. email support sends a canned message and say someone with get back in 24 hours but no-one has. In this day and age, this kind of customer service and non reliability is just not acceptable. Will stick to my Amazon, REI, Sephora and other trusted brands from now on.

    Update: I was finally able to get through to someone on the phone and they canceled my order. Phew! But instead of being relieved, I am just upset that it had to be this painful. I will watch carefully to see that PayPal cancels my transaction. I don't trust them. Just like the other reviews: If you want something by a date, they are unreliable. If you need help resolving something, good luck with that happening in a timely manner.

    Updated on 02/17/2019: My order has STILL not shipped. Still shows no update. It was supposed to be a Christmas present for a good friend (which is why I ordered it in OCTOBER). It's now been almost four months. This is completely absurd.

    Original Review: Only order for this company if you have absolutely no deadline for expecting delivery of your item. None of the advertised "shipping" times are true. I ordered an item on 10/28 that stated it would ship in "19-29 business days", two weeks later the item stated it would ship within 12/17 business days... Now it states the item I ordered will ship in 5-7 weeks. This is all while the actually "value shipping" memo states items are shipped within 5-10 business days. My order, placed on 10/28 still to this day (11/24) states "order placed". When I reached out to customer service last week I was told not only do they have no update on my order, but I was also told they have no way of checking into an order to see where is it in the process or what may be causing the delay.

    They sent the wrong item - and now have to "investigate the warehouse". Put simply - someone had a SINGLE job to do (pick and pack), and they failed. And now somehow this is MY fault and I'm out. That's terrible. I ordered this - two-day air - for an event which I will now be unable to use this for. It will be OVER A WEEK (or more) before they investigate, send a replacement - bill me a SECOND time - and then get the correct one out. This sucks. Optics Planet's shipping (warehouse) and return policies are terrible. I'm angry. Two calls, two times on hold. Hung up on (by accident), had to call back and wait again.

    Run away from them. Trust me! They sent me an empty box without the item inside. Their so called logistic claim or customer service is so unprofessional, inexperience and so slow to resolve the matter. They'll wait for 14 days then start to process your claim. The small amount money I've save from them it's not worth the headache nor my time, which each personnel have their unique different stories each week. Even dealing with their supervisor (Chris). He was offensively impolite pointing fingers who's assign responsibility. I just hope they didn't send me a used/refurbished product and forgot to put the item inside. I never experience of removing a newly purchased product that is missing a plastic wrap and the condition of the box seems someone place its foot inside already. Again don't waste your time even you think you'll save a small amount.

    Ordered a riflescope described as in stock almost three weeks ago. Still hasn't even been shipped. Good luck getting delivery in the time period quoted. Been told multiple dates for expected delivery and now just a, “We are not sure when we can fulfill your order response.” While customer service is polite and courteous, they respond in previously prepared form text, are slow to respond, and lack knowledge of a solution.     I ordered a light from them because it was supposedly in stock and they offered expedited shipping. After 9 days I called the company to find out why my item hadn't shipped and I hadn't heard from them. They stated they sent an email that the item was back ordered (I didn't get one) and that the item wouldn't be available for an estimated 2-3 weeks. When I asked about switching to a similar item they said ALL similar items are all out of stock despite all currently being available on the website.     Put in the order September 17th for 7-10 day shipping and they still haven't shipped yet. The new shipping date is October 12th. When ordering an item that is in stock it should not take a month to even ship. At the very least they should be upfront about the amount of time it will take.     I bought Ray-Ban sunglasses because they claimed to have the best price which they did. It took them 3 weeks to fulfill the order and when I received the glasses they were the wrong sunglasses. This was a nightmare. To top it off I had to pay for the return shipping. If I did not make the mistake why should I have to pay for the return cost? I would steer away from this company. It's more like eBay than Amazon. In 2018 there is no need for this kind of service. Look somewhere else.

Optics Planet took the liberty to cancel a part of my existing order and replace it with something else without my authorization which I felt is completely unacceptable.     I have been using OpticsPlanet.com for over a year now with little issues. One thing I recommend to all is use PayPal and make an account with OpticsPlanet.com. Any time I have had any issues with my orders or questions I submit them when logged in and they respond within 12-24 hours every time. It's also a nice way to keep track of everything you have ordered and also if you need to return anything it's a couple of clicks and done.

    The only issues I've ran into are shipping. Sometimes their system shows they have the item only for the warehouse techs to find that indeed they don't. The most recent mishap which I'm blaming on a misprinted shipping label for is one package out of 10 was marked undeliverable address. I contacted them Friday night at 1:00 am and got a response at 10 am Saturday morning. They are reshipping (once it gets back to them) my item 2nd day to make up for the mishap. They've also given me almost $50 in gift cards for waiting on items. They always contact me and let me know there is a issue and ask if I'd like something different. It's very frustrating when spending hard earned money to end up waiting for a month for a part but they have always come thru for me. As I said in the beginning make an account with them. It makes EVERYTHING easier.

    I ordered the glasses, and called to get my prescription worked out. I didn't think I filled in the prescription right, but the dude on the other end of the phone was super nice and helpful. It took about a week longer than I expected (about 2.5 weeks total), but it was Labor Day weekend so that really wasn't their fault. I called twice for status updates, about a 7-minute hold, but everyone was really nice and helpful. Glasses were just as described, and probably the best pair I have ever owned. I use them on my motorcycle, and plan on testing them out for skydiving. They're a little big on the sides, but the strap accounts for that. I have a small face.

    I'm just glad they were able to do the prism. A lot of other places were going to charge a small fortune for prism, transition, wileys, but after their 10% discount $300 was very reasonable. I am happy with my purchase. I was worried when they sent me a tracking number and nothing ever updated. It got here though, and it's all good. I see no reason for any review less than 5 stars with my experience. Good price, expected level of customer service/hold time for an online company, weird prescription filled just fine & it serves its purpose (no issues with sight at all - very clear and on point), shipping delay only likely to be caused by holiday weekend, arrived as described/purchased, gtg. :) :)

    August 17th I ordered 2 ten round mags for MKA-1919 12GA and paid right then when ordered. August 18th I got email saying items shipped. To this day items still have never been given to shipping service to be delivered per tracking number they provided me! Now my bank card number I used with them has been stolen and used (Really feel them or an employee of theirs stole and used it). They say they don't take money from your account til items ship but took my payment next day after email saying shipped as they never were as proof per tracking number. Plus emails me saying order canceled per my request which I never requested. Then emails me saying they messed up and was referring to a order from 6 months ago. And that order was canceled due to their lack of shipping details.

    I think they are accepting people's money and using it to stay afloat from customer to customer and never sending 50% of customers items. My bank's fraud department is looking into the unauthorized charges on my card. I'm calling them today to tell Chase bank that they need to add Optics Planet to that investigation as well as calling ATF, BBB, Local state police near them and FBI online department. Don't risk buying from these scam artist. Go with a accredited company with good reviews and a good payment service to pay thru like Paypal or Google pay. Now have cancelled my bank card and have it replaced. I'm ordering mags from another company to see which shows first (OpticsPlanet or competitor). I'm betting on competitor myself.

    I ordered a Holosun HS510C which is a $300 sight on Monday Aug 13th and I selected 2 day shipping so it would come in before the weekend which my birthday is on so I could have the optic for a rifle I built specifically for my birthday. And upon arrival of the optic I Unboxed it and noticed it wouldn’t turn on so I pulled the battery tray out and there was no battery. So I check the extra battery tray that comes in the box and there was no battery in that one either which the optic is supposed to come with 2 batteries! So I drive back into town and buy some CR2032 batteries so I can make sure the optic even turns on well. It does.

    So I go to put the optic on my rifle and notice the tensioning screw to tighten it onto the Picatinny rail is stripped out so Optics Planet sent me a second hand optic that someone has already mounted on a rifle and stripped the screw out. So I call customer service about seeing what they can do for me to make it right and all they can do is send me a return label and I’d have to wait a couple weeks before I can get another optic! I was pissed off. I was counting on having this optic for my birthday and they screwed me on that. I came to Optics Planet because I heard good reviews and I liked the Holosun brand so I was gonna order 5 more optics for myself but I’ll be taking my business elsewhere because of a company that can’t take care of their customers. I then called later in July of 2018 and was told the item was backordered but would ship out by August 7, 2018.     Last Friday I ordered a scope/Mount from OpticsPlanet saying it would be shipped with free 2 day shipping. I really needed this thing here this week since my gunsmith is waiting on the scope to sight it. It’s almost a week and my product was just now sent with standard 7 - 10 day shipping instead of 2 day free shipping. I called OpticsPlanet 2 days ago to see what was going on with my order. They told me that the product won’t be sent out for another day or two so I told them to cancel the order and get my refund back to me. As soon as I said that they said they’ll send me a confirmation with a cancellation email but guess what, instead of canceling my order they send the scope to the USPS with standard shipping. Very bad customer service, dishonest company I wish I read the reviews before I ordered anything from these guys. I will never in my life buy anything from them again. Thank you OpticsPlanet.

    I ordered two holsters exactly TWO WEEKS ago! When I placed my order both holsters were showing that they were in stock. I was leaving for a trip in two weeks, but I had ordered from OpticsPlanet several different times in the past and had always received my products quickly. So I placed the order. I later receive an email saying that one holster is out of stock and won't be in stock for another 16 days!! I immediately emailed them back and explained to them that I was going out of town and that I really wanted to take the other holster that I ordered with me and that was the whole purpose of me ordering it so that I could conceal carry on my trip. I asked them if they could ship the holsters separately since I was not aware that the holster was out of stock when I placed my order (they clearly advertised it as in stock). They refused to do this without charging me even more for shipping.

    I kept emailing back and forth trying to explain the situation to no avail, finally on Friday the week before my trip I called and spoke to a representative about my order. This representative told me that both of my holsters were now IN STOCK and would ship in the NEXT FEW DAYS!! I was shocked. First of all according to the representative the holster have arrived in stock the day prior (Thursday), and now second of all she said that it could take up until Tuesday before they even shipped it!! I explained to her the whole situation and she said that there was nothing that she could do, but that it would ship on Monday (I was leaving Wednesday).

    So here it is Thursday now. The holsters did not leave their facility until Tuesday, I am on my trip, unable to cc and they are not scheduled to be delivered until tomorrow, freaking 15 days after I placed my order!! I am upset to say the least. I gave OpticsPlanet plenty of chances to make this right, and they could care less. I WAS a loyal customer of theirs for years, but never again. They clearly don't need mine, or your business. So keep this in mind before ordering anything from OpticsPlanet.

    Ordered an item on Amazon from OpticsPlanet. A few days later they contacted me, stated that the item was backordered at the manufacturer, and offered to waitlist me. I confirmed that I wanted to be waitlisted for the item. Every communication with OpticsPlanet generated an automated response, confirming that they had received my communication.

    A week+ later, they cancelled the order via a vacuous form letter that claimed they had never heard back from me. I contacted them via Amazon, informed them that I was still interested in the item, that I had in fact confirmed that I wanted to be waitlisted. I asked if I was still waitlisted, whether they would be able to fulfill the order, etc. They responded with ANOTHER copy of the SAME vacuous form letter. I complained to Amazon. Amazon contacted OpticsPlanet. Amazon themselves ALSO received the SAME vacuous form letter. OpticsPlanet never actually answered my questions, or offered any useful information about the outcome of the transaction.

    At any time, OpticsPlanet could simply have informed me that the item was "no longer available, we can't supply it, sorry". They opted instead to keep shoveling fecal matter in my direction. Trying to deal with them was a COMPLETE waste my time. I consider it disreputable for a merchant to offer merchandise they can't supply, to offer a backorder process when they are clearly (in retrospect) not prepared to honor that commitment, to provide no effective means for the customer to find out the status of a backorder, and after stringing the customer along, to refuse to supply even the simplest explanation of what happened.

    All of this senseless (and trivially avoided) hassle over an abortive transaction! I shudder to think what sort of trouble I would encounter over a return (i.e. of a defective/incorrect item), or a warranty issue, or anything that involved them already having my money and me trying to get it back. Hopefully Amazon will send OpticsPlanet packing. I certainly don't intend to have anything to with them again.

    I ordered some Bravo Company Keymod Rail Covers for my free float handguard on my AR 15 back on July 19th. I just got an email saying they just shipped July 26th, Really! I called OpticsPlanet back on July 23rd, and they said that the order was not shipped due to it being the weekend. So, I ordered the same item from eBay, which I should have done in the first place, and it arrived yesterday, 3 days after I ordered it from them. I still haven't received the items from OpticsPlanet which I order from them first and it's been 9 days. I will never order anything from these people again. Lost my business, I guess they are not for the small time gun enthusiast, you got to be the big time to get service from these folks.     Was told repeatedly each day that I called that the next day I would receive an email with a tracking number for shipping from order placed on 18th. On the 24th, I called and asked again and this time I was fed some line about them changing up their warehouse processes and they still weren't sure when it would ship and it might be days, so I told them to CANCEL THE ORDER. They fed me some excuse (which I don't believe) about having to send a request to some other part of the company to get it cancelled. In the meantime I ordered the item I was in need of directly from Night Fision Sights, Inc, and then I get an email with from Optics Planet with a return RMA, yet still did not have a tracking number.

    I called and stated I had earlier called and had cancelled this and now had an order pending with another company. I was then fed a line of complete ** that they can't cancel it because it's too far along in their process to cancel it even though at that point they STILL HAD NO TRACKING NUMBER!!! Within an hour of that phone call I magically get the tracking number.

    I JUST WENT THROUGH THIS EXACT CORRUPT PRACTICE WITH ANOTHER COMPANY PRIOR TO PUTTING THIS ORDER IN WITH OPTICSPLANET! Luckily I was able to cancel the order with Night Fision, but at this point all I have is a tracking number from OpticsPlanet which means nothing until the shipping carrier takes possession of the item, so we'll have to see how long that takes and I'm betting it will be days.

    DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT! I truly regret it. OpticsPlanet - spare me any false apologies. This practice is corrupt and YOU KNOW IT, so save your lies and apologies for someone else. We need some regulations against a business stating they cannot cancel an order if it the item has not been given to the shipping carrier. There was nothing upfront stating anything about their "process" and the inability to cancel an item when a certain threshold has been passed. I'm writing my reps tomorrow to see about introducing a bill to stop this type of corrupt practice and suggesting fines each time a company is caught doing it.

    I placed an order through this company on a Wednesday. I received an email the next morning saying my order was being processed and would ship soon. 5 days after placing the order I have received an email that my order has finally shipped. Here it is 4:23pm California time and USPS is still reporting they are waiting for the package. I wrote a lengthy email to Optics Planet about things they could have done better and what do I get, some prewritten sorry for the inconvenience and frustration BS but we process orders for 1-2 days. Obviously based on their response they couldn't take the time to take responsibility or to really read what I wrote. I was not going to write any reviews but I feel that due to their cavalier attitude on customer service, others should be warned. I just wish I saw their Consumer Affairs rating before I ordered from them.

After a delay 2 of them finally shipped and I received an email that the last one was expected to ship in 1 to 7 days. 11 days later I had heard nothing back from the company so I emailed them. Their response was that the wait time could be 1 to 2 more weeks. During the last review a representative from Opticsplanet posted "We hope you will see past this single experience and allow us another chance to exceed your expectations in the future." They haven't even finished this single experience and continue to mess it up. How do you sell something you don't physically own. Where I am from that is called fraud.

    I went online to purchase a spare spring kit, a Magpul pistol grip and 2 stock stoppers so I can stay compliant with CA new laws for my AR15. On their website it said that they had all items in stock so I placed my order. 2 days after I placed the order I got a confirmation stating that they have received my order and that they will send me another email with my tracking # etc. A week went by and I haven’t received anything in my email so I called the customer service department and ask them what is going on and then they told me that the spare OOPS spring kit that was in my order wasn’t in stock and is actually on back order. So I was okay with that, I know things like that happen, no big deal right.

    Well since 1 item wasn’t in stock they decided not to ship my other 3 items that were in my order. That’s not okay with me. I’ve been waiting patiently for my items I ordered to stay compliant with CA laws. I then emailed their customer Service Department asking them if they can please send my other items that were in my order so I can go to the shooting range next week and not get arrested for a felony since I’m no longer CA compliant. They then told me since they are splitting my order into pieces instead of one order that I now have to pay additional shipping since I no longer am qualified for their free shipping for orders over $50 and on top of that I will have to pay additional processing fees.

    What a load of crap. It’s their fault in the first place by not telling me ahead of time that the spare spring kit wasn’t in stock. I was very nice and explained everything to their customer service department in detail and they started to make it seem like I was a bad guy for buying gun accessories in the first place. I will never order from this place again. I never take the time to write any comments for anybody but in this case I want other people to know how crappy this place is. Don’t support these liberals.

    I placed an online order with this company and they sent me an email saying that the order had been placed on "hold" because the delivery address was different than the billing address. They wanted my permission to allow them to verify my card by playing some stupid game, with the incentive of a "free gift". I couldn't believe what I was reading. The credit card company accepted the transaction, but they denied the transaction unless I met their stupid and probably illegal demands. This is what they sent me… "We truly apologize but your order has been temporarily placed on hold because the shipping address you provided is different from your billing address. For your protection, we need to validate this credit card transaction before we can proceed with your order. There are several simple ways to verify your transaction:

    1. Change your shipping address to match the billing address. 2. Authorize us to conduct Manual Verification. By choosing Manual Verification, you qualify for a free gift. Please note, due to certain restrictions, the incentive will be selected by our Order Processing Team and cannot be changed upon request. Here is how Manual Verification works:

    I. We charge your card for a random amount between $0.01 and $5.00. This amount will either be credited back to you or applied towards your purchase.
    II. You verify the charged amount with your bank, over the phone or online.
    III. You contact us by phone or email with the exact amount which was charged.

    IV. Once verified, we immediately continue processing your order."

    So as you can see, they wanted to dictate to me where the items were shipped and they wanted me to go through this elaborate verification process even though my credit card company had already accepted the transaction. I spent a fair amount of time on their website shopping for this order and was more than just a little peeved that they shamelessly wasted my time and made no sincere apologies for it. I called them on the phone and gave them every opportunity to do the right thing and they flat-out refused to honor my purchase. Needless to say that I will never attempt any transaction with them again and you are a fool if you do.

    When I went to check out for a Nikon rifle scope with a free 2 day shipping tag on it, my FedEx arrival day was a week out. I called customer service and asked why I didn’t get the 2 day shipping. They said I had to enter a code. I explained to them there was no prompt for the code and checkout had no instructions on how to obtain the code. If a product has a 2 day shipping for free why not just ship the thing with 2 day shipping because I didn’t receive a refunded to me for the 8 day snail mail.     I've ordered a few things from OpticsPlanet. I've never had a smooth and, ultimately, satisfying transaction with them, though. They have 3 major downsides that I believe makes them a pretty bad company to do business with: First, they are very misleading in that they offer a ton of products, but hardly any of them are stocked and it's not always clear as to which ones are available and how long you're going to wait if they're not. This can be extremely frustrating because their wait times are often in the months, not days or weeks, but months.

    This leads me to the second reason they suck: they take your money immediately. You will be out of funds regardless of whether or not they ship or are in stock or whatever. And guess what? That means if you cancel your order after waiting over a month for progress (which they will not help you with (see reason number 3) you run the risk of never getting a product or your money back because they don't process refunds well. In fact, they owe me money right now for an order that was canceled after waiting over a month for products to come into stock. Nothing shipped and I was told I'd see a refund. No money.

    I've contacted them multiple times through multiple methods and finally they just told me to take it up with Amazon, my method of payment. So, the third reason why OpticsPlanet sucks is due to horrible customer service. This is a given and I guarantee you'll experience it if and when you need to deal with them. They've also got misleading advertising on their web page. They say "free shipping" with a disclosure that states it will be free if you purchase over $50 worth of products, then elsewhere in their company policies is says free shipping is only applicable to purchases of $100 or more.

    I've been dinged on one of my orders by this confusing policy before so make sure you read the fine print with them. Also, use a credit card to pay. Don't use Amazon payment or your checking account because you're going to want the extra security. Needless to say, I won't even be visiting their website again unless I'm simply doing product research to buy somewhere else.

    I purchased AmeriGlo sights and a TLR-7 light for my Glock 19 from OpticsPlanet. Both were on a short waiting list, however I was notified of this upon purchase. Given the fact that I am waiting on other parts for my build, a wait was not a concern. The fact that the parts I was purchasing were also 30% or more below market value (when I purchased then) was another reason to wait. All parts came BEFORE the listed wait period, and customer service was in contact with me every step of the way.

    I have a child in the house and do not trust her friends to be around a package with any sort of firearms labeling. Her friends know that I am a combat vet but do not know that I am a gun owner. This was made clear to OpticsPlanet and discreet packaging was supplied. This is, in my experience, a relatively rare thing for firearms and firearms parts dealers to accommodate. Furthermore, after being told of the wait period I was told that I can cancel my order if the wait is not to my liking. I was also only charged after the product shipped. I have nothing bad to say about OpticsPlanet. However, if you are an "order the cheapest version of a product and expect it to be delivered tomorrow" sort of person, shy away. My parents and the military taught me to hurry up and wait, however. If you can wait, OpticsPlanet is a great place to buy from.

    So I got a scope in and when I was unboxing it I noticed that only two sides were protected with bubble wrap. After examining the scope, I found a dented cap on one of the turrets and contacted OP first thing Monday morning. They said to take a picture of the damage and send it in with an email. The email I just received said I needed to create a RMA by clicking on a link. Followed the instructions and now they are saying on the website that shipping damage is not covered and will not issue an RMA. So don't think I will be upgrading any other scopes or optics with them ever again. It was nice being placed on hold for 45 min just to get a question answered that was wrong. So far not worth the 50 bucks I saved buying from Optics Planet.

    I will never do business with OpticsPlanet again. The first two orders went OK. I got free shipping and the first order took about a week to ship. The second order took around 2 weeks. The third order was a mess I ordered a bunch of items, for a security job, which included a streamlight handcuff key. They let me know around a week later that the order was on freeze because I needed to fax credentials for the handcuff key. I then cancelled the order because I thought that was ridiculous. Even after I cancelled the order they continued to email me for a few weeks later saying the order would not process without my fax. I made the final mistake of making another order this time without the handcuff key. I immediately paid them the entire amount via PayPal $60 and $10 from my credit card.

    After 3 weeks I contacted them when I did not receive the order and they said they would ship it out a week later but then I got another email saying they cannot process because PayPal stopped the payment since it took so long. I had to repay them $60 via my PayPal. Then they asked for the $10, which I told them they had already collected and I never got those funds back. After explaining all this they said they needed the $10 still to process the order. I cancelled the order and chalked the $10 as a loss. I will never deal with this company again regardless of the deals. Terrible shipping times, bad communication, difficult in tracking orders (no ETA on order). Just saying "in transit".

    Do not purchase from OpticsPlanet or Drago. I purchased a 3 items online. I received a confirmation that all 3 items shipped. I received a tracking number and the package arrived on the date indicated (UPS PASS). I opened the box and there was 1 item in the box. There was no information regarding shipment of the other 2 items. Supposedly they are in transit. (OPTICS PLANET FAIL.) The item that arrived was a Drago Hydration pack. All 3 of the small zippers on this pack failed during first operation. (DRAGO FAIL.)

    I called Optics Planet in order to initiate a return. I waited on hold for 30 minutes. Once connected customer service rep could not find my order via the Order Number (OPTICS PLANET FAIL). Once my order was found the customer service person told me how to initiate a return/refund using the RMA link on the web page. I tried to initiate the RMA but it required the Order Number which was somehow not in their system. So I was not able to initiate RMA. (OPTICS PLANET FAIL.) I'm currently on hold for 30 more minutes and counting... (OPTICS PLANET FAIL.)

    I bought a holster on December 11th 2017 and they sent the wrong one. I called and they said, "So sorry. We’ll be glad to sent you the correct one, but we’ll wait until we get the one you have back." Fine, so I sent it back and in 2-3 weeks they email saying they’ve got my return so they’ll send me the other holster now. Then a few days later they call saying the holsters they have are wrong and they don’t have the one I want. So they say, "Pick a different one," so I do and they say it will take 29-37 days to arrive. That day was January 13th, I called at day 38 and they said they’re still waiting and they don’t know when they’ll have it. It’s now February 22 (day 40 from the day they “received my return”) and they say they’re still waiting on the items to arrive at their facility before they’re sent to me. Ridiculous.

    An item that was too large was sent back to OpticsPlanet, using their return shipping label, to the post office (as directed). I left it at the post office on January 13. OpticsPlanet has an arrangement by which the United States Post Office apparently holds an item until it can be transferred to UPS. As a result of the system, the item arrived back at OpticsPlanet on January 25 (12 days later). After arriving back at OpticsPlanet on January 25, it took until February 5 for them to transfer it to FedEx.

    I believe this will be via FedEx ground which means it will probably arrive to me somewhere around February 10-12. That means it will have taken ONE MONTH for OpticsPlanet to have replaced my item. Multiple conversations with their customer service just provided me with the boiler-plate words, "we regret things took this long", or, "we are very sorry". No sort of compensation, store credit, discount, or any material compensation for this absurd service on a $150 item! Never again!

    I purchased a Leupold scope and two sets of metal Leupold scope covers shortly before the end of Dec. via over the phone order with Optics Planet. I received automated email about a week later informing me I had two days to respond or my ordered would be canceled. I immediately called the co. and was asked to allow them to charge my cc for 1.00 to 5.00 and I would have to call my credit card co. and find out the amount. I call Optics Planet back with the secrete amount to verify me is me. I appreciate the fraud protection, but why didn't we play this game a week earlier when I first placed my order over the phone.

    I asked my cc co. if they ever heard of sales co. asking for this type of verification and my cc replied only small tiny co.s' require this type of verification according to my cc co. I received my scope, but never the other two sets of metal Leupold scope covers for apparently they were backordered. No email or phone call letting me the customer know they were out of stock.

    I called Optics Planet and the salesperson placed another order from a different supplier according to the salesperson, but once again no ordered ever arrived. I called Optics Planet back and it was ship to a different address other than my specific address of previous partial order. Now another order was sent out according to Optics Planet with scope covers, but they also never arrived. I followed up with Optics Planet and was told they sent out my order via snail mail with no real tracking. I had to call this co. 8 times in forty five days only to give up and request a refund for the scope covers. I never received the balance of my order. Supposedly the scope covers were snail mail, but were returned to sender. Guess they entered another incorrect address.

Just before Christmas I was sent an email saying my shipment had been delayed. I think it was 3 business days ahead of the holiday.     Obviously, Optics Planet (OP) does not check their emails or simply ignores them in order to ship the product regardless of any cancellations. Now, I am left to endure the waiting process for receipt of the product and then the return/reimbursement ($147.00). I purchased an item from OP and upon further measurement consideration with my armorer, realized it would not properly fit my weapon application. Twenty-eight (28) minutes later, 0850 EST, I followed the website's "cancellation" email prompts to advise of my cancellation; at the time, calling in the cancellation was not a option (although I tried that too) due to time zone difference (OP would not be open for business for at least two more hours), and I wanted to effect the cancellation as soon as possible, so that timeliness would not be a factor on my part.     So after a long time of hunting and waiting to find a Daniel Defense M4A1 upper receiver (*pinned at 16 inches*) I found one on their website. Not to mention it was on sale. To say the least I was excited. I purchased the upper right away. After ordering I waited two days with no email confirmation. I found my order number and entered it on their website to track my shipment. Then I find that my order was cancelled? No email? No call?... When I called them they told me this was a restricted item and they can’t ship it at all.

    Clearly this place doesn’t keep up with very basic laws (a 14.5 inch barrel in California is illegal unless it’s pinned and welded to make it 16 inches WHICH THIS ONE IS) so I contacted both Daniel Defense and my local FFL dealers and they both told me that it’s perfectly legal and the laws are what I thought they were. I don’t know what kind of business you guys are running but you have lost mine forever. After explaining to them what the laws are they tell me "it’s still a restricted item". Wonderful, you guys are great! Don’t sell anything firearm related if you don’t know the laws behind them, ignorant to say the least.

    Don't order from them unless you have plenty of time to receive the product. I didn't find out until after I had placed the order that several items were not in stock. My order status kept saying estimated time for shipment 1-3 days. My order was shipped 10 days after I placed it, with one additional item still on back-order. It was too late for that last item so I tried to cancel the order. I removed it from my cart and when that didn't seem to work, I used their online form to change an order. I received a confirmation email saying someone would get back to me. They never did. Instead, they processed my order anyway.

    When I did an online chat, I was told the product was in the warehouse being prepared for shipment. Okay. I asked them to stop preparing it because I no longer wanted it. They couldn't stop it or were too lazy to do the work to stop it. So, now I'm having to deal with my credit card company. This company is too frustrating to deal with. I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering. Someone at that company should take a look at how things are being managed, because it's being done poorly.

    So many items on this site are priced well below market price, and then one decides, "Yeah, everyone reviews them horribly, but I have to try to get it because it's so cheap." Well, they have some kinda BS going on because I haven't seen a single order fulfilled out of three orders I've placed there during the last six months. They seem to have absolutely no stock, and obviously have no relationship with suppliers given the prices.

    I'm building a new AR and I'm doing it on a tight schedule. I called my gunsmith (who is a pro, worked as a pro, and knows his work) and he suggested I might find a good deal on an Aimpoint optic through this site. Which I did. I ordered on a Sunday so the order was waiting at opening on Monday, obviously. I also selected 3 day shipping as, again, I am building this on a tight schedule and am slated to leave town on Thursday of this same week. I had intended to have this weapon go with but customer service just tried to convince me that I will receive my package by end of the day on Thursday and that counts as three days. Maybe that's how shipping works. I've never expedited a package because I usually plan well. What I do know, is that I paid $40 for shipping when I could have reasonably gotten my package in the same time for free.

    "3 day shipping" suggests to me that I will have my package within three days of them receiving the order. By my math, that would suggest that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday would be the three days necessary to get it to me. At worst, Thursday morning would make sense. "End of day" Thursday on an expedited order placed on Sunday and shipped "3-day" does not justify the expense. Again, maybe it's just me, but I can't figure out how they call it 3-day, charge a premium for it and have it take 4. Just be advised before you expedite your purchase. Or, maybe consider another company. I wasn't convinced that customer service had any interest in seeing my point or refunding me the difference to accurately reflect the shipping I was actually receiving.

    Before purchasing I saw all the horrible reviews. However, I thought to myself, I'm not ordering those types of products. I don't see any bad reviews for what I'm ordering. I think it will be ok. Placed order. Next day I receive an out of stock announcement and it will take 7-18 days. Gave them 18 business days (not calendar days), not a single update during that time. Just a bunch of spam emails trying to sell me junk. On 18 day I call and find out the product is still back order and won't be available for another 2 weeks. I ask why I wasn't notified. Was told: "things change". Yes, "things change". If someone was paying attention they would know it changed and should have provided me an update. I know this isn't the worst thing that ever happened, but the way they do business is just so flippant. Really irritating. Stay away.

    Buyer beware of these folks. Their customer service is run by a group of children. Purchased a laser sight, which did not work as advertised, had problems with on/off switch, beam strength and power consumption. Returned it using the same method it was shipped to me USPS, and their supplied return label. The item was received at their location on 3/20/17 at 11:15 AM. They denied then subsequently admitted receipt three days later, 3/23/17. Sent me an email stating I might get my refund within a week or maybe two weeks. Well it is now 4/8/17 and still no refund. If you find yourself in a similar situation, don't waste time haggling, just file a complaint with BBB, State Consumer Affairs Dept and the Feds. These people are flakes!

    I ordered front and rear sights for a rifle from OpticsPlanet. The day the package was supposedly delivered, I never received anything. It was delivered SOMEWHERE, just not to MY door. I fully blame the mail carrier for this though. I called OpticsPlanet and told them I didn't receive my package. They were very nice, but told me to call back in 2 weeks, just to make sure that the package didn't happen to "show up." I waited the 2 weeks and called back, and they were very accommodating and willing to refund my money or ship the product again, which they did. Very pleased with their customer service.

    Like previous buyers have said, I ordered an item and paid for it immediately. Ten days later, they sent me a message to say the item is not in stock and will take another 5 to 10 days. There were ten other companies online that had the item in stock. Had I known that, I would not have ordered from OpticsPlanet. GONE are the days when you went into a store and ordered an item for delivery three weeks later. These people are still living in 1985. Online sellers should either have the item IN STOCK, or... not display it on their site. This is 2017. Everyone now expects fast delivery. This vendor scores a zero for online commerce fulfillment. Jeesh!

    In violation of federal law, this company advertises a product they do not have in stock, does not identify in their website that they do not have the product, and posts a potential ship date three weeks later. They ship the item and so notify me, but there is no communication from Fedex of the potential date of delivery. Then I find they have used the USPS, instead of Fedex and the post office will not deliver in the same manners as UPS or Fedex. Very poor communication.     Wow where to begin. While searching for an Item, a red banner pops up telling me special offer on an already discounted item so I hit chat. The guy offers me %6 off... I ask, "On top of the %12 I already have?" He says, "No I can only enter one code." WHAT! Why would I take your %6 offer when I already have %12, that make no sense at all. So I decide to call and speak to a live person. I called several times over several days, each time getting a different offer from %6 -%20 off the same Item. Someone else could have called that day and paid full price just because he/she got a different rep. Doesn’t seem right.

    My purchase is said to arrive on a Thurs, but doesn't show up till Friday. The box is damaged, opened, product has been handled, nothing wrapped in plastic, paperwork missing and there is what looks like dried grass and leaves in the box. So I call OpticsPlanet and get ZACK. He promised to overnight a replacement. I call Sat afternoon to check if the order was processed. (NO NOT YET) I have to wait for a manager approval he says. "But you put me on hold Friday to talk to a manager who already gave you the go ahead..." "YA but I need Final approval and the manager isn't in until Monday." But he promises to take care of it first thing Monday.

    I call Monday (WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED) Kim says ZACKS not in today. But she said she would process it AFTER SHE SPEAKS TO A MANAGER... So she gets the ok and tells me it could take up to 24 hrs to processes then ship to FedEx and they will overnight. On top of all this the weatherman says winter storm Tues and Wed, which no doubt will delay deliveries. Meantime my credit card has already been charged $1500.00 and I have nothing.

    Biggest joke of a company I have ever tried to buy from: Ordered a pistol barrel from them. I ordered one that was Black fluted. What I received after waiting over a week was one in Hunter green. I called and told them they had shipped me the wrong product. They told me to return it and when it got back to them they would send me the correct product.

    I told the lady I didn't want to wait that long and she said I had no choice that they couldn't send me anything until I returned what they had sent me. I told her I'd just place a new order if she would assure me this wouldn't happen again. She assured me it wouldn't. She sent me a return authorization and I shipped the product back and placed a new order for what I ordered the first time. Lo and behold my second shipment arrived about a week later with the exact wrong product again.

    At this point I returned the second incorrect order and told them all I wanted was my money back. After numerous calls and online chats I was assured my money would be refunded shortly. Tonight I get an email saying my "order" is ready to ship but I need to send them 29.95 more before they can ship it. I honestly can't believe this. Worst company I ever tried to deal with.

    Horrible transaction. The folks that read this please understand I am not trying to hurt OpticsPlanet. I'm simply trying to keep you from having the same bad experience I did. So here it goes. Bought two scopes - one scope was $400 category and the other scope was a Nightforce NSX $2000 category. My order arrived on time however the reticle was a MilDot and I ordered MOAR. Contacted customer service, was given a free return label and shipped the scope back. My tracking number said they received it 4 days later then a email they were processing my refund. Over 20 days had passed and still no refund. I contacted them by email and they stated they received a Trinity rifle scope and not a Nightforce. I have never heard of or purchased a Trinity scope. I believe in face-to-face conversations or at least over the phone. I am not a keyboard warrior.

    I called customer service and they assured me it was some type of mishandling. When they located the scope they would call me. A few days later another email stating they would process my return then still several more days and received a email stating they were not refunding my money because they did not receive the Nightforce scope back. So for 20 days the return sat in their hands not processed. Now I will not refund my money. I am not the type that will stand for that. It sounds to me as though they have problems with handling in their warehouse and returns or dishonest employees. Nevertheless I am left the victim. After sending over a dozen emails with no response or no details of what happened to the scope I returned. I called my credit card company and notified them.

    In conclusion I should've done my research better but they are such a big company I assumed I was safe. However take time and read thousands of bad reviews on the Internet and thousands of negative feedback on eBay. The internet even listed that they had several employees who were stealing optics and selling them to another store. This is not the kind of company I will deal with again. What would you do if you were in my position? My hope is OpticsPlanet improves their handling and receiving procedures.

    I would give 0 stars if I could. My experience with the comps is absolutely horrendous. 4 orders in the same month. On their website they will have everything listed as in stock. The second you purchase your items. You will receive an email listing all the items in your cart that you paid for that they either do not have in stock or they don't even currently sell those items anymore. I cancelled each item and still have yet to receive my refund for anything. I call them every day and nothing. All they say is "we're working on it."     I ordered a gun safe from Optics Planet and they never shipped it. Calls to their customer service number go unreturned. You must call the customer service number and wait on hold for 5-10 minutes to talk to someone. I was told twice that the product was on backorder. So I called the manufacture to find out when the product would be available. The manufacturer said the product was available and had been available. The manufacturer said they never received an order for my item. All I can figure is Optics Planet did not want to honor the sale price and wanted me to cancel the order.     Purchased 2 Beretta chokes for 12 gauge shotgun... Denied purchase by risk management team because my Credit Card was Canadian and I had a USA address. I live 4 months in Florida every year and purchase many, many items under these conditions. The items I was purchasing can be bought by anyone at any Sporting Goods Stores (Bass Pro, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, etc) right off of the shelf in blister packs...     After placing an order and not receiving any information about shipping within a week, I decide to find out if this is a fake company with a nice website. Find out that I am not the only one who had been scammed by OpticsPlanet, Inc. I had sent to e-mail to the company requesting a shipping day and tracking number, and no answer. In their web page do not have any way you can cancel the order just a canceled order that may be there for decoration only.

    The problem that this company create by holding the money and the merchandise, put the customer in a position that have to buy the product in another place and fast. As I had read the review, this company does not care about the customer's needs. I had been looking for a way to get the money back and cancel the order. I used PayPal to pay, something that was a good choice due they care of companies like this and we get the money back. I paid $339.00 for a Cazal frame for a prescription glasses that need to be done before the end of the year. I have to use the vision benefits before it expire at the end of this month. That put me in a situation to go to another local place and buy whatever frames for my prescription glasses that they might have and not the choice I wish.

    Second time that this happens to me with this kind of business. I should had done a researches of the legitimacy of companies like this doing business and check the reviews from other people that had gone through the same struggles. My recommendation is that business like this should be out of business. They do not deserve to rip off customers who wants to buy from internet companies with good faith. I hope that this review help save some time to others and money.

    For a company to exist in 2016 and beyond they must have good logistics and great customer service. I order a product online on a Saturday and paid with my PayPal account. On Tuesday I inquired about why my order was still at Order Placed. She informed me that all orders over the weekend get processed on Monday and that they "should" be updating the tracking information later in the day.

    On Wednesday, there was still no update. I called them for an updated, they had no information other than telling me that since I paid with PayPal it would take additional time for the payment to credit my account. I asked to speak to a manager to give them some much need suggestion on how to update their order status. Order Placed is not informative enough for a customer to know what stage the order process is in. I also wanted to ask the management why it was not possible to cancel my order. The customer service rep told be that once the order has been place I could not cancel my order. They told me that NO manager was available because they were "too busy".

    I asked the rep, with their experience with the how their logistics works with past customers would my order ship on Wednesday. She told me that it "should" and the shipping information will be updated on the order. She also told me that she would follow up with be the next day and never once did she ask if I still want a manager to follow up with me.

    On Thursday, no update and no call from the rep who said they would call me the next day. I call them back and I was on hold for a long time. It got to the point where the phone system said that call volume was high, leave a message and someone would call me back. So I did. Couple of hours passed, NO phone call. I called them back and asked for an update. Same story, they have no update other than it a tracking number should be available soon. I told them I call for the past three days asking for some type of update. She told me that on my account, only 1 other person put notes in my account. I told them I wanted to cancel my order. They told me that I may not be possible to cancel it.

    When I asked why they then explained, the order is a picked. What change for the couple of minutes of talking to them to now that all of sudden they had a different order status for my order. I forced them to put the request to cancel the order. I also asked them what happens with my order if it ships because their logistics could not cancel the order. They told me to return the order and that they would waive the return cost. I had them note that in my account. Late Thursday afternoon I receive an email that my order was shipping and it would be arriving on Friday, the very next day. Friday morning, I check the tracking number; the package was misrouted due to "Barcode label unreadable and replaced". The shipping location is the next town over from me and the order was sent 30 miles further.

    Not a good company to deal with. I having been purchasing online items for many years now. This is the first company that being 2016 their technology is from the early 90's. They really need to step off with the customer service and logistics. They need to update their order tracking system with additional status, inform customer on about the processing of order and payment process, update their systems with the ability to cancel orders at any time, training the customer service reps to log all phone calls, better training on how to explain order processing through their system to better inform the customer, have management available for phone calls, if not a team lead some with the responsible to log issues like mine and to follow up properly.

    My father ordered scope mounts for his AR. His package was tracked right up until the time that it went from FedEx to postal service, then it stops. We called and were told to give it time. Days later we called again and were told they were delivered when they were not. We were then told to give it more time. (Now well over 2 weeks have passed from ordering). Gave it a few more days and called again. We were told to fill out a form, we did this and faxed it in. Gave it a few more days and called again. We were told they did not receive the fax. We then re faxed the paperwork and still have heard nothing!! Now we are a month out from when the item was ordered and the money was taken from my father's acct, we still have no mounts and all we keep being told is give it time.

    My father will be leaving in 3 days for his winter home and we still have no closure on this issue. When we called today they stated that our case just opened on the 7th of this month because that is when they say they received the second paperwork. They apparently do not count the 3 weeks prior with phone calls every week where we were told to give it time. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This company has (as far as I'm concerned) stolen my father's money and not delivered the guaranteed product, they did not follow the guidelines written on their website and we still see no resolution. DO NOT trust this company!! There are much more reliable distributors available!!!

    Ordered Ruger Scope Rings - order was confirmed and stated order would be shipped in 1-3 days. After a week requested shipping info and found out that Scopes Rings were not in Stock and were not able to get them. Only way I found this out was requesting shipping information.     Ordered over 200.00 dollars worth of items from them that their site stated were in stock. That's not the case. One item I ordered 2 of was out of stock and not expected till end of October.     Just sending back a laser sight for a kel-tec p32. It didn't work when initially put together. Removed from gun to find the pulse/constant on switch was not in factory set position. After switching to constant on and putting back on gun I discovered the on off switch was faulty. Worked most of the time not every time. Decided to return because it was obviously a returned faulty product. When packing everything up for return, I first noticed one of the cards in the box was perforated and previously torn off! This would not happen from factory! Plus box was not cellophane sealed. That's 3 red flags that OpticsPlanet is shipping out old merchandise as new. Is that legal? I'll see how they handle my return. I told them I wanted a new item this time. That's what I paid for!

    I strayed from amazon.com and thought I was saving myself a few bucks by going to http://www.opticsplanet.com/. Trust me when I say this was a HUGE mistake. Amazon is in a league of its own. I made two purchases from OpticsPlanet and both of them were complete debacles. First, You need to read their policies very closely. They essentially charge you twice then remove one charge when the items has shipped which may take days. Next, Any return takes up to four weeks to process after they receive it which took over a week in my case just to ship it back. Once they receive it, they inspect it and give you what THEY think it is worth. In my case, I never opened the boxes of the first purchase and had to go tooth and nail with them about the right refund amount.

    Second Order the item arrives but the mounts seems to be wrong. I check and they are the right size but not fitting the scope. I go to a gunsmith and we adjust the mounts which took the two of us almost a week as they were obviously defective. I only did this because I didn't want to wait another four weeks for another mount. Once I Also received the scope I noticed a scratch on it. I let opticsplanet know of the situation and they told me they would not take it back and I had to contact the manufacturer. They offered me ten percent off the scope but then refunded the money to a prepaid debit card which doesn't accept refunds or money back. It doesn't even accept me adding money to it. It is a one-time card to throw away.

    I asked for the transaction ID for the refund which they didn't have so I could call the Prepaid Visa Company. Opticsplanet refuses to cancel that refund and send me a check even though I told them not to send the ten percent refund to me via check. They also have a policy that states if you buy an item with one form of payment that is all they will deal with. In other words, if you buy an item and have to cancel your debit card from it being compromised they won't refund a product to your new card issued by the same bank to the same account. Do yourself a favor and avoid http://www.opticsplanet.com/ like the plague. Use Amazon.com when at all possible.

    I made an online purchase with opticsplanet.com and it has just been a nightmare. I ordered a few items; only some of the items were actually in stock though their website said they were all in stock. I have found this to be very common with opticsplanet.com. They have false inventory and often don't order the parts until their customer places the order. Anyway...they shipped part of the order and I received it in about a week. I was wondering why I only received half of the order so I looked into it and found out they were trying to get the remainder of the order in stock. Finally 10 days after I had place my order they finally shipped the rest of my product. I tracked it and was patient.

    Until 20 days after my order the tracking said that it was out for delivery for 2 days straight and was a no-show. So... I wrote Optics Planet and they told me there was nothing that they could do that I couldn't do myself. They suggested that I call FedEx and USPS because it was shipped SmartPost (which is an oxymoron). I was finally told by USPS that the item seemed to be lost in delivery. By this time it was almost a month since I had placed my order, so I wrote Optics Planet and asked for a refund. They said they could not do anything for another 14 day as per FedEx's shipping agreement. So... once again I was patient and waited the extra 14 days.

    By this time 40 day had passed. I contacted USPS to make sure that they couldn't do anything else, then contacted Optics Planet again and asked for my refund. They said they would reship the lost items. By that point I just wanted a refund so I opened a claim with PayPal to get a refund. Optics Planet totally pulled the wool over PayPal's eyes and sent a tracking number that made it look like it had been delivered (the first part of my order). PayPal ruled in Optics Planet's favor and close the claim. So here I am out $75.00. I am doing everything I can to notify their potential customers of the possible aggravation they might be facing in buying from them. In my research I have found so many of the same horror stories as mine.

    If you have any problems with your expensive frames that you work hard to pay for after 30 days, they do NOT do anything to help you find a solution. They don't even tell you who to contact to get them repaired. You're on your own after the 30 days. Good luck getting them fixed when you buy online. Last correspondence I had was on 13th Jan by way of a tracking report saying an attempt was made to ship item but was unsuccessful and an attempt will be made on the following day. I waited another week and logged in to find that my order had been put on back order without notification. I contacted them again and still no reply. I contacted them a 3rd time the next day informing them that I would be submitting a claim with google. For good measure I had taken screenshots of each attempt to contact them. When I did finally receive a reply, after I submitted a claim, the Customer Service Rep's first words were, "It appears this is your first attempt to contact us."

    I sent them the screenshots of each attempt at communication and requested that they cancel my order. They complied, but only after I submitted a claim. The whole transaction would have been okay if they had just replied the first time, or even notified me when the item went on back-order. I'm pretty understanding and would have been okay with it being on back order, I just wanted to be notified. Since then I have actually told multiple friends not to shop there because of my interaction. This is not a very good place to shop.

On 2-9-16 I received an email from Amazon.com stating that they were unable to confirm if my order had been shipped from OpticsPlanet.     Bought a scope from this company (called Opticsplanet - so you know they sell gun scopes, right). The scope I purchase came loose from the mounting base within the first 20 shots of using it for the first time. Extremely unhappy - especially since they didn't ship me the scope I had originally wanted, ordered, said was in stock, then sent me an email stating they didn't have it in stock.

    Their return policy states that they will not take back any product that has been mounted (Of course a scope has to be mounted to the gun to use it.). And OF COURSE you wouldn't know the scope was defective until you mount it and shoot the gun!! The mount is a quick release picatinny mount and mounting does not hurt the scope of the gun. I would highly suggest NOT shopping at OpticsPlanet for a scope of any type!

    Seriously? I should have heeded the warnings about poor order fulfillment. I ordered these items the same day I ordered my ammo. My ammo arrived days ago. This order, however, I am not even sure. You offered items for sale that I attempted to purchase. 9 days later, 2 of the items have been ordered and one is "on order". This is no way to run a business. I am confident this is a common problem and you have closed any opportunity to cancel orders once they have fallen into your trap. If by chance I can cancel my order I certainly wish to do so. That way I can shop where the products offered are actually available and will be sent. If not send it whenever, if it takes too long I will just buy it elsewhere and have duplicates eventually.

    The reason I took the time to write this is to let you know from a consumer perspective your service and order fulfillment is the worst I have seen. I did call to attempt to change to a different product, waited for a while and left a detailed message but was never contacted nor did I receive any further correspondence.     Ordered $120 holster/belt. Sucked me into site with "FREE VALUE SHIPPING," okay sounds good. Yes, I could have paid $9 and had it truly shipped with tracking, BUT I choose the free option - and boy do I regret it!     I had ordered a reflex sight for my pistol. When on the phone with customer service, I had asked several times if the mount would fit my pistol. The customer service rep reassured me that it would indeed fit my pistol. I was suppose to receive 2 day shipping and it took over a week to arrive. Upon arrival, I attempted to mount the sight on my pistol, only to find that it does not fit. I immediately called customer service to inquire about why I was told it would fit yet it does not. The customer service rep had no answer and transfered me to her supervisor. The supervisor, named Christopher, told me that it wasn't their fault that I had ordered the wrong mount and that their customer service reps aren't responsible to know the products that they sell, and that it is the customers sole responsibility to know the items that they are ordering.

    I found this absolutely ridiculous and was even more aggravated that the supervisors remedy for this situation was that I could either buy the correct mount at full list price and receive "free 2-day shipping" (which I was originally suppose to receive yet it took over a week) or I could receive $4 off the correct mount and pay for standard shipping. I want to return the item and buy it off of Amazon but I am afraid that the return process would be a lengthy process and I will not get my money back.     Hi there. I ordered 2 bags at the start of May 2015 with Opticsplanet.com. One was supposed to be ready for shipment after 7 days, the other one estimated to ship within 14-23 days. Because I did NOT receive any updates from Opticsplanet.com on my order status, I had to proactively chase my order status multiple times. Apparently one of the items was on backorder with the manufacturer, which had an ETA of 22 August 2015. This is now over 1 week ago - and again no info from Opticsplanet.com. I have to chase the status. I have complaint to their Facebook page and my comments got deleted. This is probably one of the worst customer service experiences I ever had. I am awaiting another reply or will ask for a refund. This is a bit disappointing as I will lose money because I am an international customer. Thanks.

    Placed an order for a scope for the crossbow on July 4. Knowing it was a holiday I figured it would not be shipped until the following Monday, fine. I get a tracking number for the scope on July 7, fine. Looked up on USPS site to track - "expected deliver date: July 25", fine. Season does not start till the 10th of August. Since I am in Alaska, I knew it would take longer so waiting 2 1/2 weeks was ok.

    Last time it was scanned was July 16. I call and talk to the CSR at OpticsPlanet to find out what is going on. They informed me that I NEED TO CALL USPS AND THAT THE DELIVERY WAS UP TO USPS NOT THEM. So I do. They said it is on a barge and that it will be scanned when it arrived in Anchorage. In the meantime I call OpticsPlanet to get them to try and overnight me another scope, even offered to pay for the shipping and that I would return the "lost" scope when it arrived. They told me that they cannot ship things that way - it has to be parcel post, PARCEL POST??? To Alaska??? Are kidding me??? I said "Cancel my order and refund my money." They ask me to sign a form that they emailed and after 5 days there will be a refund. Well this was in an email dating July 28, 2015 and it is now August 6, no refund, no scope.

    I check on OpticsPlanet website to find out my item had already been returned to them and STILL NO REFUND! This was the first and VERY LAST time I order from OpticsPlanet. They have the scope and they have my money. Emailed the logistics dept. today, so still waiting on a response. Season starts in 4 days, and no scope!

    Admittedly, initially I misunderstood one customer service person (CSP). That was my fault. The last order, and I can't stress "the LAST order" adequately, was a stinking nightmare. An order hold for purpose(s) not made clear initiated the "mess". Very well, delete the problem item (battery!). That was done and I was given a new ship date. Nope, not shipped on that date.

    Therein began calls asking when the order would ship and a series of lies. Lies? The situation was one of two possibilities: the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing or, they hold an order to await incoming goods (a.k.a. BACKORDERED) and spin fancy tales (LIE!). Promises of the order shipping were lies. One CSP said that they shouldn't have promised that the order would ship. Really? I authorized upgraded shipping and the order STILL did not leave their hands!!! No update, no communication, nuthin' but crickets.

    A nice, polite, professional female deducted 5% from the order. That's great but does not speed delivery the order if it is NOT shipped! This fun was followed by another version of order "will be shipped" but was NOT shipped! After much aggravation and note taking I asked to speak to a supervisor. This character told me that he had calls awaiting him. Do you believe that? He talked-over me, interrupted me and did CONTINUED after I asked not to be talked-over.

    This "supervisor" assured me that the last CSP would be reprimanded. Why would I want a CSP reprimanded? I don't and didn't. What am I, Nero? I hung-up on this..."supervisor" after informing him that if my order didn't ship that day that I'd make my life's work to contact the CEO or CFO of op planet and relate this abominable performance.

    I did so; locate names, addresses, and telephone numbers. I didn't contact them because I believed that CEO might be entertained, that my tale of woe would not be uncommon. I did not want my name added to the list of people sufficiently foolish to trade with them! No, helping people here is my mode. I believe that op planet will continue with this line of despicable customer service. Let the market "adjust" them. In the future I shall avoid optics planet and their recent acquisitions as if the Black Plague! Were prices okay? Yes. Prices were a little lower but weren't stunning.

    Without question, with the profoundly inept customer service and supervision the experience was NOT worth any savings; not in any way, shape or form. There is an excellent piece on customer service. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of the author(s). It is entitled, simply: "High Cost of Losing A Customer". I have every confidence that in this case that this writing on the importance of customer service is inaccurate only in the respect of conservative estimates. Again, permit the market to adjust optic planet's way of doing business.

    Customer service sucks **! Needed 12 lights, they had 4 in stock and could get the rest. I ordered the 4 and paid a lot for 2 day shipping. I told all of this to my customer. In two days 1 light showed up. When I called they said "Oops, he must have misunderstood". I can't imagine how. Our conversation was extremely clear, "I need 12, send me 4 and order the others." My customer is expecting lights, I tell the CSR who says she'll send me the three they still have in stock, and they want another $40 to expedite them. All 4 would fit in the box. The one came in and the total weight of 4 is less than a pound. Now I'm paying $80 to ship $60 worth of lights. I'm not happy but I have to provide them having told the customer they would be there based on the first dumbass I ordered them from. The other 8 are ordered from the supplier and paid for, I'm told the supplier has them in stock. They don't ship out from the supplier for over two weeks.

    All delays related to optics planet. A lot of wasted time, a lot of wasted money. Never an apology, never an attempt to resolve. Customer decided to get 5 more. Called to order and add to previous order, which STILL hadn't shipped. CSR tries using the card I used the first time rather than the card I gave for the additional and the entire order is put on hold because it won't process. When called about this I'm told it's my fault by a rude, crass, moron of a CSR who really needs to watch the training video again. From now on I'll order from Amazon. The lights cost a few dollars more but I would have had them three weeks ago. I would not have had to pay anything for shipping which means they actually would have cost less and I would not have been insulted. Don't shop here.

    I ordered an EoTech G33 magnifier from this company. After I order more expensive items from this company before. When I called by phone and placed the order. I called the following day to find out from the agent that someone in their company placed a signature requirement on a two delivery. I did not authorize this. I explain to the agent to call UPS next day and remove this. I called the following day after 1:15 and spoke to ** and explained on this because the delivery was on that same day and by the time the UPS driver delivered the package I would not be home because I normally get home after 7:30 and I leave home early in the morning.

    He wanted me to go to the nearest UPS facility which is about 40 miles away that is opened till I believe 9 to 10:00 pm when I paid to have the item delivered home two days. He put me on hold and got back to me informing that his manager was calling UPS to see if they can delete this requirement. And said he will call me back. He later called back leaving a message that the nearest UPS store was 2 miles away. I called him back and explained that the store will be closed by the time I get home. It rained this afternoon and there was traffic. He explained to me that UPS must of have new procedures on signature requirements. I called UPS and spoke to ** and she informed me that they do not have this requirement and that if I want it that would be extra.

    The bottom line is my package could not be delivered and I could not be there in time. I had to called the order and place another order a better reputable company. The agents like ** lied to me as a customer saying things that were not true. Poor customer service in all the sense wasted my time with them. I never got the item as promised, lied to the customer, and try to cover up for mistakes a signature requirement. So before placing an order be very careful. They very fast to collect money however, delivering them and customer support is another. Pass this one to your friends in the Gun world.

    I bought a $500+ optic from opticsplanet. When I received it the wind age dials were opposite. For example if I wanted to move the reticle to the left I would move the dial to the right (I didn't to check the elevation). The optic came with a polarizing lens that prevents reticle washout. This lens is suppose to thread on the optic but it doesn't thread on at all. I even tried with pliers but that didn't work and I ended up scratching the paint on the polarizing lens.

    I contacted opticsplanet and was told I could get a refund or exchange. So I sent it in and was told that it was used, tested and broken and they couldn't give me a refund or exchange. I was also told that I have 7 days to pay for them to ship it to me or they will dispose of it and I will not be refunded. I asked for an exchange for an item that I bought from them that turned out to be defective and was told that I couldn't return or exchange it. This company sells broken optics to customers and doesn't refund or exchange the optic even though on their websites it states that if you're not satisfied you can return it for a full refund which is a load of crap. These people are a bunch of con artists who take people's money and give them damaged products in return.

    I'd Ordered a spotting scope from these folks a few years ago, and had no problems. Needed a rifle scope, and they had one I was looking for at a good price, so I placed a credit card order on 3/31. I provided them name, billing address, card number, expiration date and CVV for my AMEx. (This is NOT a debit card)

    On 4/1 I get an email saying my order is not being processed because I have to "verify" my credit card? Is this an "April Fool's" joke? A Phishing email? A mistake? I send a response that they have all of my information and why are they wanting to make an additional charge to my card, and then require me to notify them of the amount of that charge, to verify that it's really me and my card (Like I was setting up a paypal account or something), OR change the payment to PayPal.

    Their response 2 days later was: "I apologize for the inconvenience but we need to verify your payment information prior to proceeding with your order. The full price of your order has been pre-authorized and should be listed as a pending transaction by your bank... During the processing of your order, we were not able to verify the payment details and require your assistance to confirm this payment. Please review the options in the original email and let us know if you would like to proceed with the small random charge being placed or if you would prefer to replace this order using a verified PayPal account." When I ask "WHY you need to verify something?" (that you have ALL the information to verify already) and your response is "we need to verify" then something's up.

    So I finally called, and get the same script from the "customer service" person. She has no explanation of WHY they have ALL of my credit card info, and have the payment pending with AmEx, but still require this additional "verification." All she keeps saying is that it's their policy to prevent fraud. Looks like a policy to create fraud to me. I explain that I just had someone steal a check from my landlord's PO Box, and use the account number and routing number to fraudulently steal from me, by setting up an account where they had small deposits made to "verify" ownership. As such I was unwilling to participate in any such "verification" program. She then informed me that she would be cancelling my order and was there anything else she could do for me. I told her that I'd not only never order from OpticsPlanet again, but that I'd discourage everyone I know from doing the same based on their questionable payment policies.

    When I searched for complaints about OpticePlanet, I discovered that they appear to have a history of sketchy if not downright fraudulent payment processing, and I am stuck with no product, an AmEx bill that shows a purchase that I'll never receive, and a VERY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH for anyone associated with OpticsPlanet.

    I am satisfied with OpticsPlanet's efforts in response to this situation, and that they confirm the lifetime warranty will be honored. Since the unit appears to be functioning with no issues the fact that package was opened and not sealed is not as critical a factor.

    I purchased a scope for my rifle that was represented as new. When I received the package I could immediately tell that it was an open box item. The seals were all opened. The scope itself had a talcum type powder on it and the instruction manual was dirty. I could not figure out why I was getting this scope at such a great price compared to other online retailers. In all honesty if they had told me it was open box and that was why I was getting it at that price with a full warranty I would not have had a problem. My issue is with the misrepresentation aspect of the transaction. I mounted the scope and will test it this weekend and hope it works or else I will be forced to return it and deal with the nightmare other posters are talking about.

    I have had an absolute nightmare in dealing with Optics Planet over the past few months. I will try to explain what I have been through as brief as possible. On 11/14 I purchased a Armasight Vulcan nightvision scope from your online store for $3,873.27. About a week and a half passed and I still did not receive the sight so I tracked the order online with the tracking number and it showed to have been delivered by the USPS, and who in their right mind uses the USPS for deliveries, of this value anyway?

    Well I did not have the item so I called customer service and he asked me to look around my porch a little to make sure that it was not there. So I explained to him that I live on a large lot in the country in a gated community and that I was sure that it was not delivered and that it was not taken from my porch as no one could have seen it. The man on the phone told me that he would have to research the delivery and that would take about ten days and he would then be able to ship me the scope that I paid for. I told him that this was not good enough as I was planning to take my son hunting that weekend and needed that scope.

    The man then talked me into purchasing another identical scope on 11/24 for $3,931.96 that would be overnighted directly from Armasight and be at my house the following day, and I reluctantly agreed. The cost was more for the second than the first for the cost of the overnight shipping. A few days passed and I still had not received the sight so I called and was apologized to and explained that it was on the way.

    After a few more days and still no sight, I called again and was then explained that they had never shipped the sight because Armasight had none left and they had to make one for my order. They told me that it would be done the next day and told them that I was disputing the charges with my credit card company and was not happy. So where I am at right now, I was told that the inquiry on the first shipment that never came was declined and that I would be responsible for the charge. My credit card company has since informed me that my dispute on the charge was also declined.

    My question is, if I would have received the first package why the heck would I pay for a second one? To say that I am upset with Optics Planet as a company and all they have put me through would be an understatement. Oh and to top it off I got a call today from someone there that said they have the sight that I wanted in and I could buy it if I wanted to, and this call came before I found out my credit card company denied my dispute. Had I done that I would have again paid for two sights and have to hope that one came, but as it stands I have paid for one and have no sight and that is assuming my credit card company does not turn down the second claim.

    A previously reliable company, that is now looking highly suspect. I ordered a specific Ultradot scope. There was a very long delay for them to confirm it had been sent, even though their website indicated the item was in stock. They sent me a very inferior glass optics scope which very suspiciously comes out to the same amount as the scope ordered. I could not help but wonder whether this might be a delaying tactic for something they still do not have in stock or whether they thought I might accept a totally inferior product instead?? I have contacted them several times and received a msg. saying that once they received the returned Vortex scope, there would still be a 2 week delay while they processed the order. I tried calling them to cancel the order so I could order it from another company but got the run-around. I don't think I will order anything more from them (even if it costs more elsewhere) and after reading other reviews of company, I can't recommend others to do business with them.

    Called OpticsPlanet in 2013 to get technical information on the right mount for a Winchester pre-1964. Was advised to buy a specific model of Weaver mounts and rings. The mount does not fit. Was told they would resolve it but I should call Weaver. Exchanged a number of phone calls with Weaver and several more emails with OpticsPlanet. All assured me the issue would be resolved. More email exchanges were made in 2014 and I was assured the issue would be resolved. Now OpticsPlanet says "We... cannot be liable for what a factory produces." After 1 and 1/2 years it seems they are running from responsibility for the recommendation that they made and the item they sold. I am stuck with the wrong item and they don't seem to care. Plus they have not fixed their chart which still specify this same incorrect product --- other customers beware!

    I have bought many, many $ of items from OpticsPlanet with no previous issue. Why they now chose to deny their responsibility for suggesting and selling a product that does not work is perplexing. I thought they were better than this. I even told them I would put it behind us for a reasonable discount on a new order. That seems like a cheap win-win solution that would cost them next to nothing to fix an issue they created. Go figure!

    Ordered items and paid for 3-5 day shipping. After the 5th day, I was growing a little concerned so I called customer service the morning of the 6th day. I had already been at work, for an hour (let me preface with, I work for a company who has a customer service department as well... they get here at 6am) so at 8:30 am I'm finally on the phone with CS after being on hold for nearly 10 minutes, who seem perturbed I had called, tell me that my order was not received by the supplier. Since I paid for expedited shipping I ask for those charges to be taken off. After being put on hold for 17 minutes, I was told that the lady who was in charge of refunds had just gotten in to work, so 9 am and an integral part of the customer service department was strolling in. I was told she would have to take a look at the request and get back with me. I should have researched this company before I ordered. I have seen nothing but extremely bad reviews.

    I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses from OpticsPlanet in March of this year. I received them and the prescription lens were good, I could see perfectly and my prescription is a tough one. The only problem was that one of the hinges was broken on the glasses. I sent them back and they promised me a quick turnaround. I didn't receive them until April 23, today, and they were the same frames!! The same broken hinge, and there was a small scratch on the underside of the left earpiece, just like the other ones (I didn't mind that but did note it on the original receipt of the frames).

    I called them and they said they were new frames and nothing was wrong with them. When I told them I knew they were the same frames because of the scratch, they said, “Oh yeah, the ones I sent back had a scratch.” I asked them where it was and they said it was somewhere other than where it really was. I knew what I was dealing with then, suspect resellers at best. They just contacted me and told me because of the scratch, they were now out of warranty, the "manufacturer" had told them this, and they would not be replacing them. These glasses were not cheap, almost $600, and they refuse to stand behind defective goods less than 30 days from the original purchase date. I would not recommend these people to ANYONE; they are very deceitful and obviously had no intention of delivering working glasses to me.

    Is one of those companies that buys overstocked products from the manufacturers or distributors (they are always open box or refurbish items) and they sell them as 100% NEW without mentioned you that they are refurbish, demos, returns, used, etc. For sure the majority of the buyers are cheated and if you noticed about the scam, anyway you were already cheated!!! Because they only offer you a miserable discount to compensate their deception and if you don't agree they ask you to return the product. Also, even though in their return policy you will receive your refund in 10 business day after receiving the item, the reality is that you will receive your money back in a month like other customer reviews stated in another sites.

    In my case I couldn't even get immediately their prepaid shipping label because their system didn't work properly, I contacted them again and they told me that I needed to wait 2 DAYS more to get and print a simple return label!!! Don't buy here, be aware in reality it will cost you more than what you think!!!. I could bought the same binoculars $150 off in other companies but I relied on them. I even called and chatted with them BEFORE buying them to make sure that they were not Open Box and they assured me that I was going to received a 100% item FACTORY SEALED, BRAND NEW from the manufacturer and they lied to me. I received a USED OR REFURBISH ITEM. When I contacted them, a supervisor by the name of Steve gave me the most false and stupid excuses. DON'T RELY ON THEIR GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

    I ordered an expensive telescope from Optics Planet in mid December 13. I did not hear back from them for a while. Then recently I got a partial shipment. There was a 10% discount on items in stock which they applied. Yet 3 weeks later I did not get the scope. They say that the manufacture did not give them any yet. That certainly is a contradiction. I am now reading these other posts. I did not order thru Amazon portal as others have done apparently. I wonder why Amazon doesn't boot them.

    I almost forgot to mention that they also recently sent me a message that the item was discontinued, offering me 5% back on a lesser scope. To called them and they said that was a mistake. I'm uncertain out they charged my cc already. I really want this scope. What they are probably doing is waiting until they have enough ordered for it before buying from manufacturer so as to egg some kind of discount. Otherwise I have no idea of what game they are playing.

    Bought a bushnell scope on Ebay from optics planet. When I received the scope it was in a bushnell box. I opened the box, removed the scope and put it on my dresser; not expecting any problems, I threw the box away. About a month later I mounted the scope and found it to be defective, and a cheap counterfeit scope. I contacted optics planet, and was told they wanted pictures before they would authorize return postage. I complied and did what they asked and sent the scope back. Now they say I sent them a cheap counterfeit scope and kept the bushnell as to receive a free scope from receiving a refund. I want my money back and a written apology from them for calling me a liar and a thief.

    I wrote this email to the company, and all I received was a "thank you for your feedback". Let me just say that this is by far the worst online experience I have ever had (and I am a frequent online purchaser and have been for many years). Horrible, horrible customer service. I placed an order, three weeks passed and nothing. I check in and it states that the order is pending. I call your company and am told that you are moving and the orders are backed up and it will be shipped out right away. I check in a week later and the order status states that it is moved to a new order.

    I contact your company again and am told the new order number and am given a ridiculous 5% discount for my troubles (even though you are having 10% warehouse warming sale on everything for everyone else). I checked the new order number and the order number doesn't work. I contact your company again and ask to cancel and you cancelled. Of course I will never be purchasing from your company again. But I will be sure to write reviews all over the internet, in any site possible, telling everyone of my horrible experience. UPDATE: Let me just add that I placed an order with Amazon for the same flashlight. Not only was it $20 cheaper, it came within 2 days. Amazon ALWAYS comes through.

    Over a month ago, I placed an order for 1 pr tactical gloves in large and Zeiss bag. They shipped after two weeks the gloves in med not large, so I returned them via FedEx at my cost of $8.44, only to receive a second order exactly as the first two more weeks later. I called and told them they were again en route because the order was again wrong. This time I told them to credit my account the $37.90 for the order. This was two weeks ago. They said that because the mess they made of it, they would ship the gloves free and credit my account, neither of which has yet to be done. They also stated they could refund the two return shipping costs because they issued a UPS label for the second shipment, but the items had already been returned before the label issuance and I told them so many times.

    To date, they have not shipped me anything. They have not credited my card the $37.90 for the original order nor the $16.88 for both return shipments. I call every day. I have faxed them numerous times. I called a hundred times in this regard and sent a thousand emails, all answered by different people in different parts of the country if in the country, and I am nowhere after almost 6 weeks. This is the absolute worst company I have ever experienced in my life. No one should buy from these people. They need to be put out of business entirely.

    I recommend Amazon, MidwayUSA.com, Cheaperthandirt.com or anyone else, but buy from Optics Planet at your own risk of your stupidity. If you experienced something like this, you would not believe it. They do not care whatsoever about their clientele. Stay away from OpticsPlanet.com entirely! Beware!

    I ordered this rifle (Remington 597) scope rail to mount my granddaughter’s scope on her rifle for Christmas (present). It was ordered on Nov. 26, 2012. As of today (Dec. 27, 2012), I have not received it and it still has not been shipped as of yet. I would not recommend ordering anything from this company, if you expect to get it at a certain time. They will keep telling you will get it, but trust me, don't count on it. They should not be selling products if they don't have it or it's not in stock. Hope anyone out there has better luck than me. I'm still trying to get my product from them, but will probably cancel and try to reorder from someone else.

    I placed an order back on July 5. About $85 worth of stuff. I was told that two items (a scope and a rifle case) were not in stock and had to be ordered from the manufacturer. And every two weeks or so, I would have to contact customer support (they certainly didn't make an effort to update me on the status) and they would tell me that it would be another two weeks before the products arrived.

    August 11, I was told that they had the scope ready, but were now waiting for the case to be unloaded from a truck. Today, August 16, I was told they had the case ready, but it would be yet another two weeks for the scope because "NcStar is stuck in a manufacturing hold.” I canceled my order. I don't know if they are too incompetent to hold onto an item for a customer until the rest of the order is ready or if they are flat out lying. But either way, I won't be ordering from this company ever again unless they can somehow prove to me that they can treat their customers properly. Oh, and both items are still listed on the website, available for ordering. No damages, just a vile company.

    I purchased a Garmin GDB 55 at Amazon.com from Optics Planet for $43.99 plus $5.60 for shipping. Money was paid on August 21. On September 1, Optics Planet cancelled the delivery and the scheduled delivery date. When contacted for an explanation of the cancellation, Optics Planet said they made a mistake and the product could be delivered for a price of $106. When I objected, the price was lowered again to $89.
