iYogi is not what it represent itself to be. Though I found their support dept helpful, so far. Their customer service give you the run around. After waiting 1 month for delivery of a netbook, I finally received it and got a 10% discount due to the delay. I subsequently purchased four other items for which I have been waiting over 2 months for delivery. After following up with them with 3 phone calls I decided to cancel the order. I am now waiting for the refund which they said would take 7 to 10 days. Before purchasing anything from them, please access the link below and read the reviews.
UPDATED ON 11/30/2015: In my previous complain, I stated that I requested a refund on 11/14/15 for two order I placed on 9/6/15, it's now 16 days and counting and the refund has not arrived. I am now asking Consumer Affairs to help me get this resolved and more importantly to audit Iyogi and its deceiving practices of lying to consumers.

I am appalled at the level of horror stories on here. I wish I would have read these reviews BEFORE I lost $500 to these guys. iYogi was able to talk me into signing up with them initially by offering some free tech support. Once they gained access to my computer, they showed me a multitude of things that were wrong with it. Unfortunately, I was not sure what all of these things were, so I was suckered in, like many of you. I can only hope that this reaches you before you make a similar mistake and lose money. I was able to follow the advice from other people that were scammed and used the SafePCFix.com people that were suggested to get this software cleaned out. James was able to get me a refund on the iYogi support services and I was able to get my money back within a few weeks. Luckily, that was not an issue and I was taken care of in the long run.
If you haven’t hired iYogi, DO NOT. If you have iYogi, act fast. The software that they install on your computer opens it up to viruses and malware attacks. I actually contracted a virus (or it was already there and not cleaned up by iYogi,) that wiped out my emails and caused the computer to have trouble opening up. They wiped out my existing virus protection in favor of theirs, which did NOT help prevent me getting infections at all. If you have given iYogi money, follow some of the suggestions here, or contact someone to help get it back. SafePCFix seems to be American. I did call them twice and they were aware of the iYogi software and knew what to do. Yes, it took a couple hours, but they did all of it for me and I wasn’t tied up for very long at all.
If you decide to keep iYogi, which if you’ve read any of these reviews, you will get rid of them ASAP, be careful when they have access to your computer. I’ve seen my technician going through picture folders and file folders called taxes 2013, 2014, and 2015. I am thinking they were interested in seeing my tax return documents which have personal information on them. This could have been a potential identity fraud issue. I immediately took control and shut off the machine when this happened. Tread lightly folks. Don’t become a statistic!

I contacted iYogi through Brother Printers, trying to solve a printer-to-computer-via-wi-fi connection. They ultimately were not able to help me, due in large part to a terrible phone connection (problem at my end), but they tried REALLY HARD. India-based (I assume) with decent English skills. Very professional and polite. And, when they couldn't help, they quickly and easily gave me a full refund.

I received a full refund from iYogi and consider this issue resolved. I also asked about future charges and was assured that there would be none. I will let you know if I am the victim of any further charges.
This settles my final issue with iYogi. I have switched from Microsoft (Dell) to Apple (iMac) and will not be doing business with iYogi in the future.

I used iYogi for a year or two with only minor complaints. Last year I let them talk me into buying the MS 8 Windows OS on my laptop. I was having minor problems with MS 7 and had heard bad things about MS 8, but followed their advice. It was a disaster. Every fix they tried made things worse and my Toshiba Satellite would only crash when I tried to open it. I told them that I no longer trusted their advice and would not be using their services in the future. I was so fed up I bought an iMac and had MS 7 reinstalled on the laptop to play games. It works fine now.
A few days ago they charged $299.00 to my Discover card with an option to refund this amount. I followed their instructions and hope to get a refund. I will call the number associated with MYAVANGATE.COM and do my best to explain that I have NO trust in their advice and want NOTHING further to do with their company. Wish me luck. Please do NOT get involved with iYogi.

I purchased a Canon copier in August. Went on internet in effort to get tech support for set-up and clicked on one of the top sites responding to 'Canon tech support' - the site turned out to be iYogi and I made the mistake of supposing they were the official support site for Canon. After 4 hours on the phone with them (many long holds), they finally said they could help me for $120 which would include a year's worth of tech support for all my electronics (which I neither wanted or needed).
In frustration & desperation, I agreed and they did help me set up the printer. Only later, did I find out that the legitimate Canon support site would have done this for me free of charge. It also became apparent immediately after using iYogi, that malware appeared on my computer requiring me to contact Mac for removal. I strongly suspect that this malware was installed by iYogi with the aim of getting me to call them again for help, at which time, they would have come up with some further fee I needed to pay. In retrospect, their whole routine seems gauged to extract as much money out of the customer as possible. I think I was scammed and would caution anyone using them to be very wary of their high-pressure tactics.

I have spent over a thousand dollars to protect all my computers - 12 desktops and 4 laptops. Every time I call they tell me how my computers are at risk and need to upgrade. Finally I'm on the phone over 2 hours now because my computer will not even start. Now they tell me oh they're very busy and maybe tomorrow they can help. I wish I had never met this company. They're all about sales and NO SERVICE.

Regarding: lack of refund for Office 2015 that was returned to iYogi. Date: October 7, 2015. This is a complaint about iYogi Internet Services and their not refunding me a product I purchased on June 25, 2015. The History: I purchased two products on June 25, 2015 at the recommendation from an iYogi employee. The products were Microsoft Office 2013 and Microsoft Windows 8.1. In an attempt by the technicians from iYogi and Lenovo to try to get Microsoft Windows 8.1 on my computer, the hard drive crashed. I had no need for the products. After some phone calls about the problem, on July 9th, I was refunded $175.99 which reflected the cost for Windows 8.1. I sent both products (Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Office 2013) back on 7/14/15.
And after repeated phone calls to see if the products arrived (I didn't have the tracking number and they couldn't tell me where it was), on 8/18/15 the products apparently arrived and they said they would refund the remaining amount of $259.99 for the Microsoft Office. Immediately on 8/19/15 my American Express had a refund of $84.00, not the $259.99. When questioned about that refund on 8/19/15 the customer service person said he didn't know about that refund but the $259.99 would be refunded in 5-7 business days. Reference #**. I called 8/26/15 and was told that it was processed on 8/18/15 and I would be refunded in 3-5 business days. I called on 9/5/15 and again was told by an Amit ** the refund was processed on 8/18/15 and would be in my American Express on 9/8/15. I again explained there was a refund of $84.00 but he also said he didn't know about that refund. Transaction # **.
I called on 9/10/15 and was told by a service representative that it was just processed (despite prior representatives saying it was processed on 8/18/15) and would be in my American Express in 3-5 business days. As of 9/18/15, there is no refund. I have quit calling them because I get the same message which is it will be credited in X number of business days. I called customer service again 9/15/15 and she said she would have them investigate why I haven't gotten refund and to call in 24-48 hours. The number I called was **. I called 9/18/15 and was told it was processed on 9/15 and it would be 2-3 business days. I said this was NOT acceptable and wanted to speak to his supervisor or the finance department. He referred me to Akhmed, supervisor from the customer service department. He reiterated that the refund has been made. I told him, "No, the American Express only shows the $84.00 refund on Aug. 19, 2015."
He requested I email a copy of the statement showing the refund, which I have done. I am to call him back Wednesday 9/23/15 so he has a couple of business days to investigate. I called on 9/23 and still no resolution and was told by Shivi that her supervisor would call me in 1-2 days. No phone call. 9/30/15 I called again and the supervisor didn't know what the problem was. I re-explained and was transferred to Rohit who said he would know by tomorrow at this time (9 AM) when the refund would be in my account. I told him if the refund was not in the American Express account on the stated date, I was going to contact the BBB and FTC with this letter. I called on 10/1/15 and spoke again to Rohit and he said the deposit would be made by 10/6/15. It is now 10/7/15 and I am following through with taking this to you for resolution. I will not call this company again. They do nothing but stall.
What I want: I am highly disappointed in the iYogi service. I feel I am being jerked around on the refund. I am due $175.99 ($259.99 minus $84.00) even though nobody seems to know about the $84.00 refund. The only number I have is the customer service phone number as mentioned in the letter as well as my account number with iYogi.

The technician was so calm, competent and thorough. Within 10 minutes he had fixed all my problems and even made more storage for me and other suggestions of things I needed or didn't need on my computer. It was miraculous and such a gift!! I would use them over and over and recommend them to anyone who has any technical difficulties WHATSOEVER. I opened a 1 year subscription account with iYogi and paid $169.99. Very soon I realized that I was not able to work with them and requested a refund on my subscription. As a matter of fact I have not used the service to my satisfaction. I called iYogi to cancel the subscription. I informed AMEX as well. iYogi said that the account will be cancelled but I have to contact AMEX for refund since they put a hold on the account. When I started a dispute resolution process through AMEX they told me that I bought a computer software product and so it cannot be refunded. I told them that I did not buy any such product, just a subscription which has been cancelled.
I have called iYogi at least a dozen times and each time I get a different excuse. First they said that the AMEX still has a hold on the account and they cannot do anything about. I then asked AMEX to cancel the hold. Now they say that the account has been suspended and they cannot do anything. I just had a chat with iYogi customer service Vijay ** and he said that the refund has already been made and the account is closed. I call AMEX and they have not received any refund so far. It has been 9 months since I have been trying for this refund. iYogi has already received the payment. They have cancelled the subscription so they should refund the money. Please look up the account from my phone number **. Thank you.

It's a lot more convenient than dropping a laptop off at a computer repair service and waiting days to get it back.

I contacted iYogi to assist troubleshoot an issue with my daughter's iPad. The first thing the operator advised was that the warranty had expired, and to proceed with the phone call I had to pay money to extend my warranty by 12 months. IYogi could not resolve the issue on my iPad despite 3 x hours on the phone mainly on hold listening to repeat beats every 5 seconds. I was then told the issue was a hardware issue therefore I made the journey to a shop near my community who is an Apple agent. Within 2 mins the tech over the counter diagnosed my issue replacing the iPad and also advised that my warranty had not initially expired, however still had 3 months remaining from when initially purchased.
The tech also advised of other customer complaints who have experienced the same issues with iYogi. I then tried calling iYogi back to obtain reimbursement, however still haven't been reimbursed. I have spent countless hours on hold and talking to their call center operators, and am left highly frustrated with their service, communication, feedback and duty of care to rectify. They were very quick to take my money and I am still left trying to get my money back. Please pass on to anyone you know, not to use this extremely poor service.

Found the same program online for half the price. Anyone using Malware to attract business to begin with has to be suspect. Now I don't trust them and don't want them in my computer. I have signed up for 5 years of tech support from iYogi for $379.99. Two days ago they called wanting to set up a call for a full check up. Today they called telling me their satellite is down and they must refund my money. I was directed to a free download which would allow remote access to my computer. Then the call was switched to a different technician who kept asking me if the first caller had been polite (yes) and did I know about the Data Protection Act? (No.) He then told me they could not do a simple refund on my credit card.
The connection was poor and I was holding a fussy baby, but he seemed to then move into a rehearsed speech including the words: "so, because you are a most valued and trusted customer..." At that point, I called a halt to the conversation and also shut down my computer. Is their satellite really down? Why can I not find news of this on the web? I am supposed to get a callback tomorrow and am quite concerned now that this whole deal may be a fraud. Very, very poor connection and quite difficult to hear. The consequences remain to be seen.

I've used iYogi [based in India] for over 6 years. Within the past couple of years, their service under yearly contract has degraded to the point that live help either via phone or in a chatbox where they take remote control has become dependent on accepting high-pressure sales. The latest incident involved my computer crashing to the point where the OS needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled. iYogi would not work with my 3 back-up dvd's of Windows7. They insisted I buy Windows8.1 [and upgrade to Windows 10] which I very reluctantly did. The program supposedly would arrive in the mail [FedEx] in 4-5 days. Long story short, that has not happened; a phone call to their customer support could not provide tracking info for said shipment. I've decided to dispute the charge of $175 to Amex and to never use iYogi again. Very bad karma as far as this company is concerned!

My computer was infected with virus, adware and pop-ups. I was trying to reach McAfee, the antivirus I was using at that time. A phone number was seen on the next web page when I clicked 'contact' on McAfee website. A man answered and I asked if it was McAfee that he was answering from. He assure me that was the case. He promised that everything will be taken care of and would not have to worry about any software anymore. Then he proceeded to quote a price of $360 for 5 year service. I agreed to one year service with extension to 4 more years at the end of this period if I wished and I paid $60 for the first of 2 installment. I wanted him to email me the promises that he made by typing in front of me. I never got it.
He worked on my computer and it seemed to work even though the computer was slow. I turned it off. This morning when I rebooted the computer all the pop ups were there even worse than before and I had hard time opening any page. I contacted them and they took over the control of my computer. He looked at few things and told me that this was a different problem and that I should pay $159.99 in addition to fix this problem! First of all this company misrepresented that they were working for McAfee, did not send me the list of his promises, the corrections he made were nonexistent. As a matter of fact, it made the problem worse. On top of that they wanted an additional $159.99 from me.
The coup de gras was when I told him that I will take care of it myself. The screen suddenly went black and started to reboot. When it rebooted I found my browser was totally frozen. I could not access any of the number of antivirus software that I had. With this experience, one will have to conclude that I was the victim of fraud by the company iYogi. It is a shame that such a company is allowed to do business in this country. This will be sent to BBB & the Attorney General's office

My initial phone call was for help for what seemed a simple issue for all but a senior citizen such as myself who didn't even realize I was talking with a 'business' not a 'help' line until after approx 30 minutes into the call just prior to actually 'fixing' the problem when the conversation turned to, "Oh, you don't belong to iYogi? Well, let me talk to my supervisor, hold on please." And of course when he came back he gave me the price tag of the $360.00 for 5 yrs that it would cost me for him to fix my problem.
The long & short of it was, I bought it & he fixed my problem. Approx 30 minutes after our phone call ended, I saw I wasn't receiving any new emails & could not send any emails. Was receiving error messages. Called AT&T. They tried to fix, then stated it was an apple problem. So, now having iYogi I called them back. First off, they could not find my account and spent approx 30 minutes gathering info from me to try & find it to no avail. They wanted me to hold further while they investigated the issue. Well of course, I did not feel this was my problem & wanted them to help me while they were investigating. Yes, they did finally agree to do this. Their technician did spend a lot of time trying to fix the problem. He finally said," I will try one more thing". I could not believe this. Quite frankly, I still cannot.
I told the complete story so you can make your own judgement but I'll tell you how I feel & what I told them. Our agreement was not for "I'll try to fix your problems," it was for "We WILL fix your problems". I expect you to cancel my order & I expect a full refund. I had a further problem disconnecting all of my devices. A supervisor did call me back shortly & state he would put someone on the line to give me that credit. After 10 minutes on hold, no one came on, I hung up. We'll see what happens.

Dear Deena,
We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. We are here to provide our customer with the best possible service however it seems like we weren't upto the mark in your case and hence didn't come up with the resolution yo were seeking for. Somehow I was misled and ended up on iYogi.com and I was talked into buying TechGenie for $379.99 for five years. I do not need that program. I already have System Mechanic Pro. I feel I was misled into purchasing TechGenie. I thought it had something to do with System Mechanic Pro, but I discovered today that it does not.
I want the charge of $379.99 removed from my credit card. And I want TechGenie removed from my computer. Also I do not want the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse that I was charged $94.99 for. When FedEx delivers it, I am going to send it right back to you. So tell me how to return it to you now so I will know. Please remove that $94.99 charge as soon as you receive the return of the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. I do feel that I was scammed. The BBB needs to know about this. Thank you for understanding. You all are dealing underhandedly, I believe.

You don't all want to hear all the details but after they telling me my computer needed their TechGenie software and buying it over 2 months ago, I still don't have virus protection on my computer. Trying to reach out to one of the owners/partners today for assistance (sent him a Facebook message). Then they said I needed to upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1 and had to buy from them. That got loaded this weekend. Yesterday I was on with them for over 4.5 hours and 4 techs and none could get the TechGenie virus protection to load, and the last tech at 12:30 at night/morning told me to call back in morning and he wiped out my IE.
This morning on for over 2 hours and level 2 tech seemed to know what he was doing but he couldn't get it to work either. They said I have to wait until open slot on 7/30 for a level 3 tech to work with me! Everyone works off same calendar/open slots and no escalations (I'm away 7/28-8/3). I don't know how many hours of my own time I've put into this already and how much $$$. Ready to explode and just want the software on my computer I paid for and they told me was right for my laptop after their detailed review of all my laptop requirements. Then went upstairs to check my son's laptop that they supposedly added TechGenie to a week or two ago and can't find any icons or programs to support so I may need to get back to them to find and confirm it's actually on his as well. So upset.

My new Epson printer was not printing. I googled "Epson Tech support" and iYogi popped up first. I figured this was tech support for Epson Printers. The tech asked to sign on my computer remotely. I agreed figuring it was a driver error. I saw the tech support opening all kinds of files and changing things on my laptop. I figured they knew what they were doing. While they were changing configurations on my computer they were having me trying things on the printer. They finally suggested restore factory settings on my printer screen. I did that and it started to copy, so I figured it was fixed. The tech told me this problem will keep happening unless I pay $60.00 for continual tech support. I explained I will just buy another printer because all the others printers I have had have worked fine. I explained I was not going to buy tech support for this printer. They continued to change settings remotely on my laptop.
I asked what they did to make it work and she explained I did it by restoring the settings. We hung up and I turned the computer off. 20 minutes later I turned the computer on and it would not start up. I called iYOGI back and we tried different rebooting techniques but none of them worked. They said they would call Dell support but after being on hold 10 more minutes they came back and just gave me the number. Dell support could not help. Looks like I have to wipe the whole computer out and redo the operating system. Thanks iYOGI for leaving me high and dry. Not sure what steps I will take from here, but I will not let this rest. It was completely unprofessional and looks to me like a scam. Do not let this company work on your computer remotely!!!!

They are ALWAYS trying to sell me something more, something that will make things better - well bull. Have used iYogi technical support services for many years, and have also purchased equipment through iYogi Shop. On the whole, I have been pleased with the quality of both. There has never been a technical problem that they have been unable to solve, although on a few occasions, I have had to make a second service call, at which time I have been transferred to more senior technicians with greater experience and capability. Service has become more efficient over time, with the chat service giving quick turnaround, and minimal communications issues.
I am visually impaired, however, and require to use magnifier tools with my PC, which makes communications via the chat (typed text) more difficult for me than it is for most others. But in all cases, the technicians have been very patient and polite. The main criticism I have of the technical support service is that they routinely try to sell me a new software, hardware or service product that I don't wish, and can be quite insistent about this. When I finally complained about this practice, iYogi was apologetic, and made a note in my file to not make such solicitations, which is a promise that iYogi has faithfully upheld. iYogi is an organization that gives good value and stands behind its products. After over an hour, their tech said I had 64 registry errors and they could fix them all for $140.00. I told him I just wanted the router to work and I could take care of my computer myself and could even take it out of my network so that the router would work. The tech said that would not work. I asked if I could take my router to a friend's house miles away and log into the router. He emphatically said NO and that it would take $140.00 to fix it and that would be for a year's support. I told him I did not want a years support, just fix my router.
I finally asked for a supervisor and he was just a smooth talker trying to convince me to give Iyogi my $140.00. After over an hour and a half with these guys, I hung up. I corrected the problem myself in about 2 hours with online free programs. My router has been working fine for the past week. Do not use Belkin 3rd party support!!!

Make sure that you ask them who they represent and how they charge for their services. They get you by making you think that you are dealing with manufacturers like HP. Do not let them remote into your PC or Mac, or forever you would be sorry. Then they try to lure you into buying and signing up yearly services. Their diagnostic program will ruin your PC like a parasite in your body. On the whole, during the approximately four years I've had a contract with iYogi, I've been impressed with the technicians' expertise, but their sales pitches, which have occurred during nearly every call I've placed for tech support, have driven me up the walls! Despite my telling the technicians I'm not interested in the product or service they're trying to sell, they continue to apply high-pressure tactics. I'm thoroughly fed up with this, and I'm thinking of switching tech support providers when my contract with iYogi is due to expire (and I fervently hope the company I change to, if I switch, will confine its services to tech support!).

I am absolutely amazed that iYogi could have any positive reviews whatsoever. Please keep in mind that this company is based in another country, not in the United States. You DO NOT want to try your machine to a company that pays its employees $1.00 per hour to look at your personal documents, pictures and potentially confidential information (taxes, financials, etc.).
My horror story with iYogi really starts two years ago when I contacted McAfee to get some help uninstalling their product from my computer. I was receiving error messages and wanted to cancel it. An iYogi technician impersonating McAfee spoke to me and convinced me to let him into my computer to help remove McAfee. They actually removed it and installed their own Total Defense software. It made me feel trapped into purchasing their program for $300. Like I was coerced and forced into buying this product that would make my computer work faster, better and have fewer problems.
It turned out to be a nightmare. A packaged and wrapped box of lies. For two years I had nothing but issues with my computer. Constant freezing, virus scares (turns out they never cleaned the computer right the first time), and other issues with the machine. The worst mistake you can ever make is hiring an overseas company or someone that is not knowledgeable on your issues to work on your machine. In order to get this debacle repaired, I did end up locating a company, SafePCFix.com, from a customer on these threads. They described the service they had gotten was from someone who spoke English, and was able to remove the iYogi junk and clean up the original trouble areas.
To be completely honest, I was a little apprehensive about calling another company, but after talking to two of the techs there, they definitely were the guys I wanted to clean my computer. My tech guy explained that they get calls from people who have hired these types of companies before and have nothing but issues with their computers. They connected to my machine and fixed it within a matter of hours. They showed me the log reports of where iYogi screwed up.
The MOST IMPORTANT part of this, is that my technician at SafePCFix was able to get the remainder of the money refunded back to my card. It took a few weeks, but they did that for me. They were able to get me squared away, get the computer fixed (instead of buying a new one). So, in summation, think twice before hiring these guys. Don't believe all these reviews here. They're written by the company themselves!

I have been with iYogi for about a year and a half. On the plus side, the technicians are helpful and ultimately do take care of the support issues. However my one complaint I have is that every time I call and explain the issue, during each call the customer service reps repeatedly try to sell me on new or extended services that I do not want. I sometimes lose my patience with them as I repeatedly decline their offers and they will not take no for an answer. I don't mind the offers but as a customer if I say no, then I mean no and I wish the call would move forward quickly. It has been my experience that a 20 to 30 minute service call ends up taking well over an hour due to repeated sales attempts that are declined and that is something I do not appreciate.

I had agreed to a 5 year contract on February 9th, 2015 and the first time they double-charged me, which they promised would not happen. Then they sent me a refund for 76% of the $379.99 on February 13th that they had overcharged me in the original bill due to a deal that was on the market and did help once since then. Today in early May the time is up and they have suspended my account. Run away from this group. They do have some good technical help with lots of promises but too hard to work with a company that does not honor their contract commitments!

I have used iYogi for several years and have had an okay experience with them, although I've always wondered why they had me sitting in front of my computer for hours to fix minor things. It seemed to always be fixed so my daughter started having computer problems. I told her to go to iYogi, they set her up with a year's contract $200, then she just called me & told me she was having computer problems again & received a message saying, "Turn off Keystrokes to iYogi". Now she is scared to do anything else on her computer because she feels they've been saving every keystroke she's made since they worked on her computer. I'm very disappointed since I referred her to them. Shame on you iYogi, I will not be using you & especially will never refer you again. Can anyone tell me what to do?

I called HP tech support for a problem with an HP Printer. It worked and then all of a sudden wouldn't print in black but would print from Internet. Then it wouldn't print from Internet. The Tech person from iYogi told me she needed to log into my computer which she did. 5 hours later she was insisting that I needed internet security software (which I have read is useless) for $129.99. She said I was getting international spyware that was stopping me from being able to print. Another hour later she told me I needed a new printer (which I should have figured out I needed myself). I then ordered a new HP printer from her which after I checked was three times the cost of the same printer directly from HP or from Best Buy. I then cancelled printer and bought one from HP.
When she disconnected from the service call she didn't disconnect any of their software and I started to get telephone calls from people from India telling me they were getting messages from my computer telling them I was being infected with a virus. I had also previously called Dell with a scanner problem and was told by iYogi that I no longer had free Dell service even though when I called Dell's previous service they told me I had tech support until 2017. I think this is all a scam. They try to help with your problems but really want to sell software. From now on I will call a local computer repair service and I won't buy another Dell Computer. I have antivirus software and do not have any viruses so I think they are telling customers they need this software. It is a sales pitch.

I've been a customer of iYogi for quite a while now and totally love the care I get in making my iMac work smoothly to my satisfaction. I paid a fee for a couple of years and call when my computer isn't acting the way I need it to respond. The techs for my Mac are very professional and yes they do come from India but they speak very good English and work with me step by step to clean up any issues I have going on. I first saw that iYogi has a 5 star rating with the Better Business Bureau which to me is very important... if there is a issue that the tech needs assistance with they get more help!!! There is no trauma and I contact them about every 4 weeks to ensure I'm up to date and smooth sailing. Like so many of my older friends that have tech toys that they can't make work... mine all run smooth and it's because of iYogi!! They have great patience... (I need that).
Another thing is that we must stay with them as they work on our computer remotely... I trust them totally (from experience now) and it's proven to be true!! I do my connections with iYogi at night before I go to bed so it's quiet and no interruptions for me. iYogi is a 24/7 operation and there are no lines to get help.. and I don't have to take my computer, iPhone etc. anywhere.. I'm home and it's wonderful.
Yes, they remotely enter my computer and I have the ability to cut them off "if" I don't like what is going on... I've never come close to getting angry... if you are spending $$ and continue to struggle with computer problems, tablet problems, cell phone problems... iYogi is your answer. I get good prices for hardware, and software from them as well. I purchased a new backup thru iYogi and updates for my Microsoft Office thru iYogi at great pricing. We have 4 computers protected by iYogi services. In the past, we have gone to them many times with problems (some significant) and their team has taken the necessary time to bring back normal operation. Additionally, iYogi's remote system of taking control of the computer to perform corrective actions is remarkable. iYogi technicians are polite and very patient. I suggest only two considerations: Recognize that when a customer turns down buying a technician's recommendations for additional services, a single "no" should suffice without repeated presentations. And second: As a customer I don't expect to wait extended periods of time for service without some live feedback as expected wait time.

The first tech I worked with was not very helpful. The 2nd tech who helped me via remote connection helped me a LOT! First she removed a ton of preinstalled programs and games that I don't use. She had me check the list of programs before deleting anything. My webcam was NOT working which is why I called iYogi. The tech discovered that the software was corrupted and had 18,862 other files that it had corrupted as well. When those were deleted we downloaded and installed a whole new camera suite. I paid for it with PayPal. It's much better than my first camera suite that became corrupted all on it's own. It worked a couple months ago just fine.
Today it didn't work at all. Now it works great, my computer is faster, all the games and corrupted files are gone, drivers updated and my computer is running perfectly. Thanks to that tech I would have filled out the feedback form but it crashed on Chrome before it reached the feedback form. I had to come here to leave feedback for the 2nd first level tech who worked with me.

A few months ago, my iYogi Support Dock started to malfunction on all three of my computers quite frequently. For no apparent reason, when I clicked on any icon on their dock, I would be transported to their sign-up home page. Ergo, I was being bumped out of my iYogi Support Dock on an almost daily basis. So then I would have to call iYogi to have one of their technicians uninstall, then re-install the entire dock for functionality to return. But this fix would only last a few days. So between three computers, I would spend several hours per week on the phone with iYogi technical support dealing with this recurring issue.
I kept on asking iYogi why was problem was happening? Their response was always the same. Since my computers ran Windows 7, some of those files must be corrupted, which is why the problem exists, and iYogi's solution was always the same: purchase Windows 8 from iYogi. Since that solution seemed too self-serving, I brought my computers in for servicing to my local expert computer technician. After many diagnostic tests, no file corruption was ever found on any of my computers. All my Windows 7 files were fully accounted for. I sent a letter to iYogi in March explaining all this. I further said that I thought it was rather convenient that this particular problem only started to occur after iYogi's Support Dock itself was upgraded to Windows 8.
The manager who called me back continued to deny that iYogi's own software might have something to do with this problem. I stated again for the record that the Support Dock worked fine until Windows 8 was formally rolled out. The manager would not even admit that my theory was even a possibility. I then pointed out that over the last few years, the once-excellent service from iYogi has been rather disappointing. Over the last two years in particular, iYogi technicians would spend more time trying to sell me more stuff than actually solving technical issues. In short, iYogi Technical Support was more interested in selling than problem-solving. By the end of this frustrating conversation with the manager, I simply had had enough. I demanded that my existing account be closed. And since my account was not due to expire until 2016, I demanded a partial refund, which after much intimidation, they did give a partial refund.
The next day, I took my computers in to my local technician to have the iYogi Support Dock removed from all three machines so a better security software program could then be installed. But the next day, my technician told me some disturbing news. He said that on all three computers, he had found secret imbedded files from iYogi that were not listed as a program on my hard drive. These imbedded files had wrapped themselves around the Windows operating system. He told me the only effective means to remove the embedded files would be to uninstall, then re-install my Windows 7 operating system. And that also meant that I would have to re-install all my programs again on each computer. So that's what I did. Removing the imbedded iYogi files cost me $95.53 per computer.
After this task was accomplished, I sent iYogi another email. I let them know that their small refund didn't come close to covering the additional $286.59 it cost me to remove their embedded files from my computers. Their response was predictable. They said that since I was no longer an iYogi customer, they had no further obligation on my behalf. In short, iYogi felt that they had no responsibility to fix the problem that they caused.
In conclusion, I think its wrong that iYogi can deliver declining customer service and get away with it. As I said, iYogi used to be a great company. But for the last few years, I would have to give them a failing grade. So it is insult to injury that I had to spend nearly $100 per computer to have all of iYogis software and embedded files properly removed from my computer before I could install a replacement antivirus/security software package. And they shouldn't be able to get away with it.

Had difficulty getting Word activated on this brand new computer. Thought I was calling Dell for assistance and instead got yogi. They duplicated EXACTLY what Dell would do by asking for the Service Tag number etc. I was now very convinced this was a Dell employee. They suggested remote access to my computer to fix the problem... of course I agreed. Then in the middle of the process, I noted that I was no longer talking to the representative that I originally spoke with. This was a new representative who told me my computer was infected with multiple viruses that had to be removed. This is when I became suspicious because I had NEVER been on the Internet with this machine!!! I recognized the sales pitch was coming and interrupted him asking how these viruses got on a computer that had never been connected to the web. He got very angry in his tone.
I asked if he was a Dell contracted employee and all he would do is keep repeating that "we service Dell computers". I told him to disconnect from my computer. There is no question in my mind that the first technician planted the viruses in my computer!! There is NO other way they could have gotten in. Then they were going to sell me a package to clean off what they implanted. Once disconnected I was unable to access any part of my computer. I called the REAL Dell support and they have to replace the entire operating system to get it to work. Clearly a scam and for anyone who has had access to the web, they cannot tell if they REALLY picked up a virus or not so they would easily fall prey to the pitch! I looked online for HP Support for a problem with a laptop (still under warranty). The first link in Google was HP Support in bold, blue type. I clicked on it. This opened up a chat window, I was surprised to see that it was with a company I'd never heard of, iYogi, and perhaps less surprising was that HP had outsourced its support to an Indian call center. I told the agent I was trying to reach HP and he assured me that iYogi are the "official HP support agents", his words. I explained the problem which was with the touch-pad, and that it was still under warranty. "That's not a problem, we can take care of everything." But first he needed to take control of the computer to do some checking.
This I agreed to only because I thought I was talking to an HP representative. He downloaded a whole heap of files, and ran some "tests". After 20 or 30 minutes he said that the touchpad was not the only problem, and that the machine was corrupted by many viruses. This surprised me, I always have AV working and updated. He said that the av program (Avast) was not able to prevent the infection because hundreds of files had been "downloaded to the network, not the machine" and that I "should not do any on-line banking or shopping until he had cleaned the network because the files could steal the log-in details."
I asked him where these hundreds of files were located because I had not seen any unusual activity on-line. "Ah, they are not visible to you, they are hidden, but I can see them with our specialist test programs." (Those were his words) Now all he needed was $379.99 to restore the machine to good as new, and that would give me a 5 year contract for as many calls as I needed to make relating to hardware or software, 24/7. I asked if this was an extended warranty with HP and he said it was. I said I had a restore disk and could do it for nothing. "No, that would be a very bad thing because these files would infect the restore disk."
So I agreed to the "extended warranty." Next he said I should delete some "unnecessary programs." Revo Uninstall was one, and my AV program was another. He assured me that iYogi's software would protect me from every possible infection and would monitor the machine continuously. I absolutely would not let him remove anything.
3 hours after getting my credit card details it became obvious that he was simply churning through screens and there was no word of the touchpad being restored. Finally I lost my cool and told him to cancel the deal and refund the money. After much protesting he transferred me to a Level 2 tech. He went through all the same garbage about files in the network that he could see, but I couldn't. I repeated the request to cancel, He talked faster. I repeated the request and he transferred me to the financial department.
The next "gentleman" said he could escalate the issue to the 3rd level, "Our most senior technician." I asked for a refund. He said he could reduce the price by $50. I asked for a refund. He said he could extend the cover for an extra 3 months. I asked for a refund. When he started again I told him I was calling my bank on another line. Finally, after 4 hours I was promised the refund.
It took another 2 hours to root out the software and registry entries that had been installed. Windows Add/Remove programs couldn't get rid of them, had to resort to Revo, (one of the programs the first agent had wanted to remove). I wonder why? And I had to use a registry cleaner to get rid of the last of the detritus. If you need support DON'T EVEN THINK OF CONTACTING iYOGI. They are bare faced liars.

I first got on the HP support and called their 800 number so that I could speak to someone regarding issues I was having with a new HP laptop I just bought a week old, and that 800 number connected me to iYogi. When they identified who they were I asked if they were affiliated with HP and they said no, but they are a 3rd party service that works with numerous companies like HP and they assured they could help with my issue.
They went through their system of asking me what was wrong and then what they could do. And that they would take over my laptop to fix the error with my permission and I would be able to see everything they were doing. Yes, that was true, but then they hassled me by telling me they could only fix my issue if I subscribed to their service. Now I'm a college student so I'm already crunched for money and time, but they said they could provide their maximum package to me of 5 devices for 5 years for $185, the original price was $385. So naturally it sounded like a deal. As soon as I gave them my information though they told me again what the deal was and on the billing screen it showed $385! I told them that they offered me a different price, and then they hassled me again, but I ended up with that actual $185 package.
Their fixing methods took over 3 hours in which they repositioned my taskbar for no reason and ran tests, and after almost 3 hours they told me that I had a virus, which couldn't have been possible since it was a week old laptop and I'm not stupid. And they said the only option would be to wipe my system clean and start over and they could only save half of my files and that process would take 4 hours max. Being that it had been over 3 hours already and they didn't really do anything besides mess with my taskbar and feed me crap about what they believed was wrong, I told them to forget it and that I wanted my money back.
When I said that they threw me through the loop of a bunch of different lines and 'redirect your call' and finally I told them I'm done with their service, they wasted enough of my time and I wanted a full refund since they didn't fix anything. The guy who I told this to pleaded with me telling me he was a level 2 IT expert and the real people who would help have the highest level credibility which is a level 3. Regardless of whether he was valid or full of crap, it didn't matter to me, 5 minutes later he told me my refund would be processed and iYogi would not be responsible for any future technical issues with my laptop. I replied 'you better not be! You're lucky I don't report your scam of a company to BBB! " Who they said they are accredited of. Between iYogi and HP, they both are the worst tech support companies.

We just bought a brand new desktop computer YESTERDAY. Everything was working fine when we brought it home but couldn't get it connected to the HP printer we had bought about 3 years ago - whether we loaded the driver disk or tried downloading from the internet. When I called the HP tech support #, I got connected to iYogi who said that they could find out why but had to connect to my computer remotely. The tech rep could hardly speak English and had a very strong Indian accent making it extremely hard to understand what she was saying. After connecting, she said that the reason we couldn't connect to the HP driver was because we had so many registry errors and junk files on our computer and then proceeded to sell us a service contract for $199.99/year to keep our computer "clean". Of course all of this took so long, I was late for an appt and said I had to go but would be back in 1 1/2 hours.
When I got back exactly at that time, my cell phone rang and it was iYogi calling. I HAD NOT given them my cell phone #; they had illegally and unscrupulously gone into the files on my computer and found my cell #. I was horrified and now I wonder how much other info they took from our files. If we have financial fraud, I will know that it was iYogi personnel who hacked our information. In the meantime, we took the computer back to OfficeMax where we bought it and they connected the computer to the printer and also checked the computer for the 100+ registry errors and junk files this iYogi rep said we had. Turns out there were NO registry errors and the only "junk" files were the ones iYogi put on our new computer. I cannot recommend OfficeMax enough; they were terrific! IYogi is a complete fraud. I was firm and informed them that I will possibly extend only after trying out their and if I am satisfied with their service. Finally customer service gave up and transferred me to a technician. After several hours they got my computer up and running...at this point I was very happy.
However, a little while later I was having problems with my computer once again, I called up and after 4 hours on the computer they were not able to fix the problem so we had to book in for a top technician at a later date. This kept doing until my computer was up and running after about a week. My concern at this point was not so much the time taken, but if their anti-virus is so good why was there a problem with my computer? Of course after my session they tried very hard to sell me an extended subscription by saying it was a today offer only, and I would be saving lots of money. I refused but they would not accept this. I had to be very firm and finally they gave up.
A while later iYogi called up saying it's been a while since they have optimized my computer and I should spend 15 minutes doing that now. I refused knowing full well it would take hours. I received this phone call many times and kept refusing, until finally I said ok. They took control of my computer and after about 2 hours my computer crashed and there was nothing but a black screen. They told me not to worry as they have 100% satisfaction. Regardless to say my computer was never fixed I had to go out and buy a new one.
In the meantime iYogi kept calling me to optimized my computer. I said, "No way." Told them why and they said, "So sorry to hear." Anyway, my new computer came with Norton free for 2 months...This was magic, fantastic, never had any problems. The Norton ran out and I made the big mistake of leaving my computer unprotected for a few weeks and of course it became infected. I still had 6 months left on my iYogi subscription and convinced myself that my first computer would've died regardless. So I called iYogi. They cleared up my viruses, put on an anti-virus and all was good...Well so I thought. Oh and I forgot to mention -- every time we call we are always tried to be sold more subscription for the once only reduced price. They can not accept "not now"...becomes very annoying.
Once again I had problems with my computer, but this time they said I have been hacked and they cannot fix my computer unless I buy a special software package which only comes as a 3 year deal. I asked them if they could get me up and running without this they said "no," the only way was to purchase this for $Au399.00. I told them my husband has just lost his job and I couldn't afford this money. Then they offed me $139.00 (so they can help out) with the balance in a year. You see they really cannot fix my computer (funny about that) without this software that I absolutely had to have. Again I said not now. I forgot to mention at this point I was talking to the manager.
Eventually he put me back to this lovely female technician, who said, "Let me try one more thing." She did manage to get my computer up and running without the software. Again the manager came online and tried to sell me this software. I got so annoyed that I gave the phone to my husband. My husband informed the manager that we still have 2 months left on our service and we may upgrade closer to the time. Finally he accepted this and hang up.
The next morning I checked my emails and was sent an email from iYogi with a receipt attached for the amount of $139.99. Iyogi went ahead and charge me for an extra year even though I said "no." I could not believe this. We called the bank, and yes the money had been charged without our consent or approval We rang iYogi, explained the situation, and they could understand, and tried to offer me a reduce price. We explained that what they did is considered illegal in Australia. You cannot charge someone for a service they haven't agreed to just because you want to. We told them to go listen to the recordings and they will hear quite clearly us saying "not at this time."
Finally they agreed to credit back the money. Let's wait and see if it has been done. Going back to my computer, it is still not running like it should, but I am too scared to call them, wondering how long it will take, what other problems they will create and how hard they will try to sell me a renewal. I do have a theory on why closer to renewal time things don't work as well but I should keep that to myself as it's only my opinion. All the above is fact.

We have used iYogi for about six years and in that time the technicians have always solved any issue I have called them about. Now they have installed on my desktop the iYogi Support Dock which allows me to simply click on the live help icon and type in my problems and I am quickly connected to a Technician who is able to take control of the computer and repair any and all problems they find. I love the fact that I never have to leave the house or be without my computer for any length of time.
There is a constant back and forth with the Tech as they do their work and I am always asked if they have my permission to do whatever they need to do before they do it. I can monitor all the actions of the Tech and I could stop the control of the computer at any time if I became concerned, which has never happened. I can not say enough good things about the quality service we receive from iYogi and the convenience of having all this done in my home at my convenience.

I was having some issues with my computer. When I turned it on, I kept seeing a black screen, so I contacted HP. Instead, iYogi answered the phone. First, the wait time was terrible. I waited for 20 minutes! Second, I was outsourced to somewhere in India. Now, I didn't mind so much them having remote access, expect when I found out I had to pay $150 for a small error on my computer. But since I needed my Computer fixed ASAP, I decided whatever. But no, with that money, they added a BUNCH of programs on my computer that I didn't need nor want, and they made my computer run slow. In the end, I ended up being on the phone with them for 4 hours and then they were in my computer for another 3, because after fixing the black screen issue, they messed up and gave me another problem.
The connection got broken with the first guy I was with, so I had to call back again since they left my computer in worse condition than when I started. So I got a second tech to help. I didn't get a break until I told them I NEEDED to go to bed since it was 2 am here. Even still, they said they would only take another 10-15 minutes and they really needed to finish, but they had said that a million times while I was working with them. I ended up having to call back the next day and speak to another tech who didn't understand what I was trying to say, but in the end resolved it. Each person I called tried to sell me something else, even though I had paid an unreasonable amount of money in the first place. And none of the tech spoke very good English, so there was a language barrier. In the end, I will be asking for my money back.

The first time I called I thought I was working with Microsoft because I got the phone # from my Surface. Well the first thing you get is a sales pitch then you get to stay on the phone for 3 hours because the tech/sales rep is typing on his laptop to guide you before he takes over your computer. They did fix the problem and said the software they installed protect my surface and that was it. Two weeks later same problem. I call back another sales and more software because the stuff they sold me was a tool I could use but had to be trained on it. So after 4 more hours on the phone I say goodbye. Check my browser still not fixed. Call back - another hour on the phone. If you love talking on the phone then this company is for you. P.S. I did get a full refund.

I joined up with iYogi in July last year. I have probably used them 6 times and only in the first 2 months. Now I cannot fathom using them and annoyed I have paid $200. Here's why. On a third of occasions the staff were very good at identifying my problem and helping to remedy it somewhat. The rest were less than helpful.
But then comes the next 2 steps in 100% of cases: Their software: I cannot isolate the problem, but my PC runs way better without their cumbersome software and when I would delete elements of their suite, they would put them back during time logged on to my PC. It’s just Bloatware. There are only a couple (out of 8ish) of actual files necessary to connect with them.
The hard sell on extra: On each call (and quickly during the call in spite of my problem) comes the inevitable sell on other tech product: either malware or security (both of which I am happy with and KNOW are fine). And they DO NOT give up. I had to get very angry many times to get them to give up. They are obviously on pretty good commissions for these extras, there is no other explanation. I asked them to note on my file not to ask me about this and it didn't stop. Beware iYogi people. Happy to hear from you!

I gave 2 stars not because of the service, but because of the technician. He seems to be a really nice hardworking guy. I am having a hard time telling him that he is kind of useless here since I was pretty sure the problem that my computer is having. Here is the scenario. I called in dell, I told them I had a problem either with the graphic card or the motherboard (I sent it to best buy and they me that). Then they just transferred me to iyogi on ground support which I asked, "Is it a guarantee fix of my computer?" They said yes. I was not sure how they can fix it just by coming to my home but I gave them a try. However, when the technician came, we worked on the computer for nearly 2 hours.
We finally came to the conclusion that my motherboard is failing, and we have to call dell back in order to fix it. Recall that I contacted Dell the first place and now they are sending me back to them with almost exact same problem I told them it was. So I just spent 169.99$ for the problem that I already knew and now I have to call dell again to fix this? What is wrong with all this loop? All in all, I don't think I paid for what I think I agreed on paying.

On Jan. 13, 2015, my Epson printer failed to work. Unusual. Since I couldn't immediately locate my Epson handbook, I Googled for an Epson customer support phone number. Little did I know that I had the wrong number and was being routed to iYogi. Within the first few minutes, the tech "suspected" that I must have an older version of Windows. I affirmed, by telling her that I had Vista. She responded that they had suddenly been receiving a number of calls like mine, and told me that Windows was discontinuing service to Windows XP, Vista, and 7 as of that very day, Jan. 13. She quickly brought up a Google notification by remote server which confirmed the same. (I have no idea where she got it.) Then she imbedded herself in my system and showed me how dozens of my Windows files were already failing.
The inevitable had happened, and it was necessary for an immediate update to our computer system. (I had simply called to get technical support for my printer.) She began telling me what was available, starting me on the high end of an HP Touchscreen, for over $700. When I indicated that it was out of my budget, she suggested the $404 HP All-in-One unit (Everywhere or Everything). When I accepted, she started going down the list of other things I would need, like Microsoft Office for $279...and then it was the portable hard drive unit. Before I knew it, I had suddenly been swept up to an $800-1,000 purchase--and all I initially wanted was for someone to get my printer back on task! She told me that she could "fix" my printer problem, but because of the Windows service cut-off, it would only happen again.
My husband overheard the conversation after initially giving his okay to the transaction, and his earlier reluctance shot "off the charts.” By then, I had already submitted my credit card information (by just a few minutes). However, the transaction wasn't quite complete, so I stopped the tech by saying my husband wasn't comfortable, and therefore, I wasn't either. I needed to cancel immediately. She began to coerce me and tell me I needed to reconsider. I continued to say I needed to cancel. Then she said, "Okay, we will forget about the portable device and just order the other things.” I said, "No, I cannot go through with this.” The fact that she had shot up so quickly with add-ons and more than doubled the initial computer expense caused me to turn cold inside. I told her it was just too much money and we wanted to check with Best Buy before we made such a major purchase right out of the blue.
When she realized that her sale was slipping away, she said she would drop the cost of MS Office and let me have it without charge. My husband continued to say, "No.” Then she wanted to talk with him. She asked to do this at least 3 or 4 times. When he said he wasn't interested in talking with her, that the answer was still no, she said it would still cost around $100 for shipping and handling expenses since I had already given the credit card information and they would have to treat it as an already-shipped item. I was getting angry and said that the product had not shipped! The order wasn't even solidified! How could she be legally charging me for an item which I said I didn't want when it hadn't even cleared the system yet?! She said they would put a "HOLD" on it for a few days in case I wanted to reconsider.
I said, "No, I don't wish to put a HOLD on it. I just want it cancelled from my credit card account. Is there a manager with whom I can speak?” She saw there was no way around my persistence, and said she would cancel my order and also have a manager contact me the next day. Wanting to make certain I had understood her correctly, I repeated what she had told me: "So you're going to cancel my order so that I won't be billed for this on my credit card. Right?” She reluctantly agreed. I could tell she was trying to be polite, but her agitation over the downturn of a potential sale was apparent. I kept apologizing, but I didn't relent in my resolve to get out of the mess in which I suddenly found myself. I only wanted to fix my printer. After being on the phone with her for at least 90 minutes (maybe more), I was frustrated and tired and finally hung up.
The next morning, my credit card company called me, wanting to confirm a pending transaction with a computer company. It was iYogi. I explained what happened, telling them I had been assured that the charges would not be processed. I was back on the front lines with this, and getting more upset by the minute. They asked me to call iYogi and verify the pending transaction, which I did. The gentleman in the billing department confirmed that the charges had NOT been cancelled, that they were being processed, but that he would certainly issue a credit to cancel them out if I so wished. After assuring him that I "so wished," he offered me another $40 reduction on the $404 HP computer (now down to $364) if I still wanted to reconsider. I assured him that I just wanted to cancel and credit the order from the night before.
Without further pressure, he did just that and also volunteered to cancel the impending call from the manager. He assured me that he had taken care of everything, and if a charge did show up on my credit card statement, it would immediately be followed with a credit. I contacted my credit card company with the information and they said they would make a notation of it. True to his word, the charge never showed up in my account, and all was well. I considered it a harrowing ordeal and vowed to stay far away from iYogi anytime and always in the future. However, my fire was re-lit when I later found that the iYogi tech had imbedded at least 4 of her files into our system and I had to go in and manually delete them before everything would go back to normal settings!
Furthermore, today when I contacted the Geek Squad for help in finishing the set-up on our new computer (happily purchased from Best Buy, by the way), they informed me that the Jan. 13, 2015, service discontinuation date by Microsoft was inaccurate, according to their information. Windows Vista was still eligible for service through April 11, 2017. Where is the integrity of this iYogi company and how many more people were scammed out of perfectly good working systems?! And the tech never even did what I initially called her to do--FIX MY PRINTER!

Dear Jenny,

Also, your feedback was shared with the training and the tech support teams as this is not the type of service we strive to deliver. I am absolutely amazed that iYogi could have any positive reviews whatsoever. Please keep in mind that this company is based in another country. Not in the United States. You DO NOT want to try your machine to a company that pays its employees $1.00 per hour to look at your personal documents, pictures, and potentially confidential information (taxes, financials, etc.).
Like I was coerced and forced into buying this product that would make my computer work faster, better, and have fewer problems. It turned out to be a nightmare. A packaged and wrapped box of lies. For two years I had nothing but issues with my computer. Constant freezing, virus scares (turns out they never cleaned the computer right the first time) and other issues with the machine.
The worst mistake you can ever make is hiring an overseas company or someone that is not knowledgeable on your issues to work on your machine. In order to get this debacle repaired, I did end up locating a company, SafePCFix.com - from a customer on these threads. They described the service they had gotten was from someone who spoke English, and was able to remove the iYogi junk and clean up the original trouble areas.
To be completely honest, I was a little apprehensive about calling another company, but after talking to two of the techs there, they definitely were the guys I wanted to clean my computer. My tech guy explained that they get calls from people whom have hired these types of companies before and have nothing but issues with their computers.
So, in summation, DO NOT hire iYogi to work on your computer. Find someone else that you can trust first and foremost. If iYogi has touched your computer, there are definitely problems with it that need to be addressed.

It was called Tec Genie (don't get it). Today they rang me and said could they tune my pc at 7 am. Having been a customer of I YOGI for a number of years, now it is with great sorrow that I have come to end my business relationship with them. When I first came to know of I YOGI (like many others) I was a subscriber to Norton and when I needed some help for my computer I looked up their phone number online. This is how I reached I YOGI who use this phony phone number to trick people into contacting them. I was told by them at the time that they were endorsed by Norton to amend any problems that I should have with my computer. Not knowing any better I let them proceed to take over my computer and by the end of the day my computer was fixed and I was out a couple hundred dollars.
Granted, I have re-subscribed to their services since (even though the original meeting was through a misleading phone number) they have kept my computer working at its optimum level. Or so I thought. Throughout the years they have sold me with their hard pitch sales tactics different modes of protection. Some of these even overrode the ones already installed by them. It seems that their technicians work on a royalty basis and their biggest concern is to sell you products whether you need them or not. They also have what is called a "Avie" download that their techs use that is kind of a cheat sheet. It has the answer to any question that you might have and it is all aimed at selling you more merchandise and to steer any wrong doing away from the company. I know this because one of the techs unknowingly downloaded it onto my desk top. If you would like a copy just ask me on her on replies and I will be happy to send it to you.
The last product I purchased from I YOGI is the Tech Genie. Buyer Beware!! I had this monster installed into my computer 6 months ago and it has not worked since day one. After maybe 20 contacts with I YOGI and always the same answer (we'll fix it for you, we promise), nothing to date has been done to amend the problem that works. It seems that they have technicians that know how to download different files but they do not know how to properly prepare the computer and delete all files that may intercede with the function of the one that they are downloading which results in the corruption of your computer. Whenever I go to the Live Help function to talk to a Tier One Technician I am always first told by the level 3 techs that I need go no further than them and that they would be happy to fix my computer and it will be great after (birds singing in the air and angels blowing their trumpets). After reinserting that I do in fact NOT want to deal with them but want to talk to a Level 1 tech, they sometimes become arrogant and ends up an argument over whether I can speak to a higher level technician or not. Usually I bypass this by asking directly upon contact to speak with the floor manager. And usually the floor managers are just as unhelpful as the level 1 techs.
Another problem with IYOGI is that they ask you to fill out a survey as soon as they are done performing whatever work you had performed. The problem with this is that your computer will be working fine. The next day maybe not so but the survey is already completed and they got their 5 (undeserved) stars. Back to my Tech Genie problem... So I contacted the Live Help Level 3 tech yesterday regarding my (still not working) Tech Genie which is the state of the art, you never need anything else, OMG how this thing works, service. I asked to be contacted by a Level 1 tech and after explaining (once again) why I needed a Level 1 was told that they would contact me within 15 to 20 minutes. I, like most people have a life. When I pay for a service I expect the service provider to please me, not the other way around. Well, three hours later my phone rang but I was far from able to answer it nor was I near my computer. They called a total of three times within 5 minutes. Later on that night I saw that I had a email from I YOGI and upon opening it saw that it stated that they had indeed tried to contact me and that it was now up to me to contact them since I was not available.
I replied to the email stating that I was told that they were to contact me within 15 to 20 minutes and that it was not until three hours later that the actual contact was tried. Today I opened my email to see a Failed to deliver email as it never made it out of my email box. They also had a phone number on the email and from past experience I can tell you that if you call it that all you will get is music, so I didn't even bother.
I YOGI suckered me in in the beginning under false pretenses by pretending that they were an agent of NORTON. I fell for it and subscribed to them. Over the years I have used their service over and over and am now wondering if they (since they do have access to your computer regardless if you allow them or not) purposely corrupt your computer just to sell you more unneeded junk. For anyone wishing to subscribe to them - Do So At Your Own Risk. They are not from this country (US) and can get away with many things that are surely illegal here.
Oh, another thing about I YOGI, if you ever use them notice that what ever they use is just a free download of some other companies tools. The last time I wrote a review of I YOGI such as this one, I received a phone call a day or so later promising me that whatever problem I was having with my computer would be promptly addressed by their highest level technicians and resolved. Of course no compensation was ever brought up or discussed on their end. We shall see what happens this time….

I arrived just in time to save my 80 year old mother from being charged $425 by iYogi for a fabricated problem. Her real problem was that her iPad stopped printing to her Canon wireless printer. The solution, which I did soon after getting her to hang up from iYogi was that the printer had become disconnected from the wireless network. Restored that connection and iPad printing worked fine. But iYogi got her to allow remote control of her Mac computer and told the following lies: 1. Said they were Canon's official tech support. 2. Said her computer firewall had been "damaged" and they needed to run a procedure that would take fifteen minutes. (I checked firewall and it was functioning fine).
She asked if there was a charged and they put up a credit card screen with a $425 charge. Fortunately that is when I got there. They then did a stalling tactic of talking to manager and saying we couldn't disconnect without damaging computer. Remember, the problem was really just the printer wireless connection. I would add that the Better Business Bureau is also a fraud. iYogi cites them as giving an A+ rating! which is clearly not the case given the many complaints you can see from a simple internet search.

I called the number online for EPSON PRINTERS and got IYogi. They pretended to be Epson but knew nothing about my printer. Then they blamed it on all the computers, phones, ipads, etc in the household so they could get access to my laptop. They went through and said that it was all messed up and went into places that would confuse me, while telling me that my computer was ready to "shut down" and that I would lose all of my documents etc if I didn't use them to fix it. I wrote the steps down as they went through the process to make sure they were not altering my computer. I went back over everything they said and none of it was accurate.
It was a scam to get $209.99 from me for a "lifetime" membership to clean out my laptop. I could hardly understand the guy since he had an Indian accent and wouldn't talk slow enough for me to understand. I'm pretty sure that was part of the scam. Scare tactics and a gullible person on the other end. I did not partake, instead I came here to see what other complaints they had and went into the areas of my computer to see if any of it was accurate info. All BS. Go with your gut when someone seems shady!!!

All I can say is that IYOGI is the biggest sales pitch known to the internet. I as many others bought the 3 year package for $399.00. My first experience with them was great as it should be but EVERY TIME I have called them since or they send you an e mail saying your utilities will be updated please call us, they hound you for more money. It's with all the reasons like your computer is slow, outdated software, etc, etc, etc. My last encounter with them was a couple of weeks ago where they couldn't even fix my issue but the conversation was ALL about them telling me I needed 8.1 this and utilities that and more of this and that. Hundreds of dollars they wanted. As they are scanning my computer, I have a minipad with amazon pulled up and what they wanted was almost double on all the same products that amazon was offering. Now the sales rep as I call them was trying to bring down his price. Once he knew I wasn't going to get ripped off by them he stopped the scan and bid me a farewell. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? TECH SUPPORT MY **. What a joke. Please go somewhere else and don't get sucked into this money PIT. It is really sad we let overseas companies get away with this. It's wrong, unethical, and straight up fraud.

For my opinion fraud to sell program and yearly service for the need to fix a wifi connection. After years my wifi was gone. I called Netgear and was connected to iYogi. The agent asked me to let him into my computer via internet to check the connection. Then he said it is not the router - it is my computer. I told him another computer does not work and my cell phone neither. He said yes. If one computer does not receive the signal wifi all other devices won't. I need to get my computer checked and maintained on regular basis to have that wifi feature with the Netgear router. He said he is offering that for me what cost at Staples $98 for $150, because Staples only sells it for one time while they offering a service 24/7 for 2 years to call in if something is wrong. I agreed.
It took 30 minutes and I watched them chasing throughout my whole computer. So I became suspicious, just for the simple wifi connection to go through the whole computer and tried to cancel. They became very rude, demanding and aggressive. I was connected to the accounting department and tried to cancel which again was receiving the same behavior. So I hang up. Now I have this company all over my computer - suspicious if they watch all my steps in the internet and do not know how to fix it but just buy another computer.

I have had trouble with my computer since. I tried calling them back. They insisted on trying to sell me something else for 200.00 and wouldn't even look into my computer. After you went through my computer after I was told it would only take 15 minutes, I was there for 4 hours. The computer was not done even then. I had another session to get it right and that one lasted all day. After you finished, I had someone else check it and found 329 errors in it. I called the number I had on file for my Norton tech support and got an Indian national on the line. No problem, since all the companies seem to use them. He was helpful with my problem and offered me a product only after I asked about it. After $150, I am an iYogi customer with 24/7 tech support services. So far everything seems okay, EXCEPT suddenly I'm getting messages that my Windows program is not genuine.

A few months ago I took out a support contract for 5 computers with iYogi. Today I tried to access the support. First of all - UK numbers that they had given me and that appear on the website do not work (not assigned). Second - when I found a number that got me through to talk to someone at the company, I was left holding for One and a Half Hours which is when I decided to go online. At the outset I had tried the 'chat' with a customer support representative. The message at 7am Indian time was that their offices were not yet open.
So an hour and a half later I returned to the 'chat' facility - this time got through to someone. He explained that their 'Mac' support people were really busy. After some time and many words passing between us, he got his manager to call me. His manager assured me he would arrange a call back at 8pm UK time. Guess what - it is now 9pm UK time and no one has called. Tomorrow I leave on business with the problem unresolved. The big question is - will they be willing to refund me the money for the support contract (a three year contract). They clearly cannot honor what they have committed to i.e. 24/7 support... and this was for only one of the 5 PCs.

Dear Ms MacLennan,
After your post here we got in touch with you and we resolved all the issues that you raised with us, except for the option to change the language on your OS which was a software restriction post update and not in our hands.iYogi tech support services are available 24 x 7 via phone which is also toll free for you. After your post we checked and rechecked all the UK numbers and they were all working, so we are not sure what may have happened at the time that you called but we are sorry that combined this was not a good experience for you.
We are glad that you gave us your feedback because it allowed is to run a sweep to make sure everything was working as it should.

Stay away from iYogi Computer Service Scam.
My trouble with iYogi started when unwanted messages appeared on my computer screen every 30 seconds. Previous to this, my computer behaved normal. When the delete command to make this message disappear would not work, I called iYogi who advertised their computer support services on the internet. The iYogi technician Shubam ** handled this service call and he promised to have the intruding message removed in less than eight hours but did not succeed. Then next all of a sudden my printer and scanner did not work and banking online did not function anymore.
When I requested to get the supervisor, Miss ** from iYogi Sales Department got involved instead and told me that a two year service plan can be purchased at $299.99 that would fix the browser and fix the registry errors to make the computer work. A work order number ** had been assigned by iYogi to complete this describe work. Then when iYogi entered my computer, the computer then became totally dysfunctional and would not work anymore. In response to this I engaged a local certified computer technician that replaced the computer operating system as the only alternative to fix my problem at a cost of $900.00.
With a long record of deceitful business practices, iYogi deserves to have its commercial operating license revoked.

I accidentally called iYogi when attempting to contact apple support (they come up first on Google) and was sweet talked into buying their services. The amount of time spent on the phone/chatting with them was much longer than necessary and while they are working they are trying to sell you more of their services. At one point they wanted me to pay to download a tool that would make it easier for them to do an update on my computer. Umm, I'm sorry but I'm not paying for something that will only benefit the tech. Then they continued to call every time there was an update for Windows or Mac even though I only had bought Mac support. I told them to only call me if there's an update for Mac and they said they couldn't because of how their system works.
The last time they updated my computer they tried to manipulate me into renewing my support by saying, "it will expire soon so I'll just go ahead and renew it for you with the credit card we have in file" instead of ASKING me if I wanted to renew it. When I said no I didn't want to renew it, he asked why and I said it is too expensive for the quality of support. Now this is the point in which I lost all respect for the company: His reply was that if I was concerned about cost, I should get a Windows computer instead of a Mac. Trying to give me financial guidance is not what I paid them for, I'm surprised he didn't try to give me medical advice while he was at it.

After having our "Webroot" uninstalled by a Microsoft tech to install Microsoft Office on our laptop, my fiancée wanted to re-install "Webroot" security on the laptop. She looked online for the official "Webroot" website and found a phone number to call. The call was answered by someone from India who was hard to understand. He claimed to be under contract with them to provide IT service. This may or may not be true. However they offered 3 years of service on 3 devices at a rate that was less than "Geeksquad" and claimed that they could fix every install and troubleshoot everything from their location.
They did install a "Webroot" system on two of our devices after having to access my e-mail (which I still don't understand why) to retrieve our "Webroot" information. The first tech referred us to a second tech who asked my fiancee a lot of questions about her location and what the devices were used for. She finally told him she was not comfortable with these questions to which he said nothing. The tech then offered to install the system on another device which we hadn't mentioned. This is my personal laptop and I was leery about this because we hadn't asked for this. His supervisor then asked if we had had an optimizer installed. We said no so they installed one for $79.99 more.
After 4 hours and much lost homework time for my fiancée (I was not in favor of this from the start so she talked to the techs), a red malware alert appeared at my "AT&T" account information. They removed the malware alert (the malware alert was strange because the account was only a week old). Then after trying to access my email the password no longer worked. Finally we changed the email password, the modem password ID and password and found a file in the main laptop that was named after me with several listings that we did not understand.
We believe this was installed by one of the techs to give them access to our laptops whenever they wanted. I have filed a dispute to the charges and may have to pursue legal action. I will also contact our attorney general's office to alert them of iYogi and their tactics which are either inept or sinister. Buyer beware! There are many tech services in the United States which are reliable (if we contact them we will probably not have any trouble). I don't plan to use "Webroot" in the future, if they did not authorize iYogi as a contractor (which is possible because the tech could not use the official "Webroot" site to re install their security). They should follow up on this. iYogi has caused us a lot of extra work and expense. If you don't want this avoid them!!! I believe they are providing many of their positive reviews due to poor grammar on these reviews.
